Whoops hand slipped here’s some TADC character fanart. Apologies for the severe lack of Pomni in this one idk where she went off to…maybe she got lost on her way to find the exit. The lines are incredibly choppy & rushed, I know, but it was still fun art practice! I don’t draw these guys nearly enough anyways so this is a nice change of pace. Support indie animation :3
#you wanna know a secret? don’t like how I draw Ragatha I wish I could do her better 😔#like I don’t know if I make her hair straight or if it’s kinda wavy?? and her eye too idk how to draw it in a satisfying way :((#but that’s a normal dilemma when I’m trying to blend my artstyle with the shows artstyle#keeping the characters on model/recognizable and consistent but also my own style ya know?#making those adjustments takes time and usually I need to draw a character 7+ times before it looks good#JAX ON THE OTHER HAND—OH BOY GOODIE HE IS SO COMICALLY EASY TO DRAW HALLELUJAH LOL#I think the Puzzle toothy grin & toon eyes just automatically agree with me#then Kinger I also struggle with personally#Gangle’s mask shape is confusing at first but then you adjust fairly quickly#Caine is neutral party to me—I know how his design is but I’m not confident without reference material#and then the artstyle translation is another hurdle to juggle <<#his top hat especially like HOW U DRAW 😭 I can manage Puzzles bowler hat just fine but NOT top hats man#Zooble is lovely Zooble peace and love they did nothing wrong just pleasant to draw uwu#Jax & Zooble conflict oh noooo the bitches are fighting /j#Actually this initially started only with Caine & Zooble but I just kept adding others lol#Ragatha & Kinger we’re the very last additions#hplonesome art#tadc characters#the amazing digital circus characters#NOT GONNA PUT ANYMORE TAGS BECAUSE THEN IT’LL GET SWEPT UP AND PEOPLE WILL ASSUME I DRAW THEM ALL THE TIME 🥲#I can’t be held liable for serving TADC fanart content because that isn’t me right now sorry

Chapter 4 The Telling: My Friends
When I woke up a few hours later, and when I walked into the living room, everyone was saying congratulations and hugging me. The three of them wanted details about how Adrian proposed, the wedding, and who all knows. We tell them that in two weeks we plan on taking another one maybe two week ‘vacation’ to tell my friends and family back home. And I had checked some gossip sites and I didn’t see anything. So, I’m hoping I’ll be able to tell my family the news.
Lily once told me that she was cursed when it came to Christmas, while my family is cursed when it comes to making plans. I had hoped to tell my family and friends in person a week after we got back, but we weren’t able to go to Michagan, until a month and a half later. On the 20th of August, five days before my birthday. Heidi had called me every other day after I got back from Paris. She knows I’m not telling her something, thankfully she doesn’t push for answers, I had to swear that what I was keeping secret was good news.
A week before we leave, my parents call me on game night. Adrian and I started right after everything happened, he knew I needed to keep my friends close. He also knows I like playing board, card, and video games. So, he suggested that we start a game night. But when I answered the phone, well there’s no other way to really say it, all hell broke loose. My parents and sister started yelling all at once, it was so loud that I nearly dropped my phone. I couldn’t make out much, just that they were pissed, I was also able to make out a few words like ‘whore’, ‘gold digger’, ‘b*tch’, and other hateful things. I couldn’t say anything, I just sat there, numb, it's when I started crying that Adrian lost it. He took my phone, and ended the call, and held me, he held me and said ‘I love you’, as I cried into his shoulder. Kamilah, Jax, and Gaius put their hands on me, just letting me know that they’re there.
When Adrian and I get to the airport, we’re both shocked that the three of them are there.
“Hey guys, what are you doing here?” I ask them.
Gaius seems to want to be gentle, and tried to respond, but Kamilah spoke first, “I don’t think it’s a good idea for you two to see your family without us there. So, we’re coming with you.”
I tried telling all of them that my family is unpredictable, they did care, but the gang wanted to make sure that Adrian and I were safe. I looked over at Adrian and nodded, we all went on the plane. The flight wasn’t that long, but I still leaned on Adrian and took a nap.
⚜ ⚜ ⚜
When the plane landed we all piled into a car with our luggage and headed to Heidi’s house. As Adrian drives us to her house, at ten minutes out, I decide to lay out ground rules.
“Okay guys, I need to lay out some quick and easy ground rules. Try to keep swearing to a minimum. If any of the kids want to hear stories about your past, you can share with them, but make them PG. And please, no one tell anyone about what I did on the day I killed Rheya.” I tell them. “I’d like to tell them about that day myself.” I look over at Adrian first, he glances over at me with a smile, takes my and kisses the back of it. I look at the others in the back.
“Alright.” Gaius said, I think he can tell I’m nervous.
I know Heidi and her family, and we’ve talked since revealing vampires to the world. I told her how and why Adrian had turned me, and that I was, and still am, actually happy with my new life. When I told her about why I had to turn into a vampire, I heard her start to cry, and Adrian had kissed my forehead telling me that he was sorry, that he had done that because he was selfish and didn’t want a world without me in it. Heidi had overheard him talking to me, she had told me that she said that she understood it was a hard choice to make, she had actually choked on a few sobs when she said “That you were … about to … die.” Now we’re closer than before, we text and call every few days. But this is the first time I’ve seen her and her family since I’ve been turned. I know I’m not exactly a vampire anymore but I’m still nervous and excited to see her again.
“Oh, Adrian, it's this driveway on the left.” I tell him, worried that he might miss the turn. He immediately starts slowing and turns into their driveway. As soon as he does, clouds fill the sky, blocking out the sun. “Huh, would you look at that. Oh, you can park in front of the garage.”
“Wait, why are so many people here?” Jax asks confused. “You told her that we were coming today right Nala?”
“Of course I told her. She even texted me two days ago to confirm that we were coming today. And I texted her saying that our plane had landed and we were on our way. She said that we could show up anytime today.”
“I think she may have planned a surprise gathering to celebrate your birthday.” Adrian says with a smile and a small chuckle.
“Did you two plan something without me knowing.” I think I should spend a little time looking through his memories from the day, but then I remember something that she had mentioned a long time ago. I’ve even gone to several of these gatherings after things started going south at home.
“No, I didn’t plan a party for you. Not this time anyway.” Adrian responds.
“This may not be safe.” Kamilah says, the concern obvious in her voice, “Maybe we should go back to the hotel…”
“Relax guys I know what’s going on.” I tell them all with a fond smile on my face, as I recall the memories I have. Adrian parks the car and it starts to rain.
“What’s going on then?” Gaius is wary. I may not have known him long, but I can just sense it.
“Cousin game night.” I grab my purse getting ready to open my door, “Well you guys coming or staying in the car?”
As I reach for the handle, Adrian puts his hand on mine, “Hold on, I don’t want you to get soaked.” He grabs the car keys and his cell and opens his door. He walks over to my side to open my door, but he first takes off his jacket and as he opens my door he puts his jacket over the opening reducing the amount of water that hit me. Kamilah, Jax and Gaius follow us to the front door.
I hesitated for a moment before knocking, my fist is just hanging there. Adrian puts a hand on my lower back, I turn to him and he gives me a loving look and a supportive nod. ‘It’ll be okay. It’s Heidi, she’s always been there for me.’ I knock on the door, and a second later I’m face to face with Heidi. She just stands there for a minute, not moving, I don’t blame her. I told her that I would be bringing four vampires, she said that she was fine with it, but being face to face with vampires can be overwhelming. Before I can say anything, Heidi just pulls me in for a huge bear hug.
“I'm so glad you’re okay.” I feel her tears and my own start to fall.
“Yeah. Of course I’m okay, Heidi. Adrian has put himself through a lot just to make sure I’m okay.” She let out a laugh.
“I’m sure of that it’s just… I didn’t really know what to expect.” She pulls back and looks me in the eye, “I kinda thought you would look more…”
I can tell she’s trying to find a word that won’t be offensive but there was only one real word for it. “Undead. Yeah I thought that too, but as it turns out you only really look different when you’re supper ticked off or about to feed” Everyone who heard that laughed. It honestly feels like nothing has changed. “Oh, Heidi,” I wrap my arm around Adrian’s waist, and with my other hand I gesture to him, “I would like to officially introduce Adrian Raines.”
“It’s a pleasure to Mrs. Leonard.” Heidi takes a step forward and shakes his hand. And then I introduce her to the rest of my new friends. After that she welcomed us into her home, her kids run up to me to give hugs, her husband, Kole, and the rest of the family greets us in a similar manner.
⚜
After dinner, the boys and Kamilah were cleaning up and talking while Heidi and I were talking about how my life is really going. Like how I feel about Adrian possibly becoming a Senator, me taking over his company, and how I feel about continuing our relationship long distance.
“We’ve talked about that a lot actually. He understands that after everything that I’ve just been through, I don’t really want to move and I’m really afraid of losing him. Adrian was actually late to several meetings because he wanted to know how I was feeling about anything and everything. He uh, he actually took me a trip to Paris. So we could have some ‘us’ time before the actual election.”
“You went to Paris, again? But when? And what about that vampire hunting group? They could’ve killed you both?” Heidi was worried, because I had told her about the Order. But I forgot to tell her that Rheya had killed them all.
“Yeah, I forgot to tell you, Rheya had killed everyone that was in or associated with the Order. We went there about a month ago. Which leads me to this…”I hold out my left hand and show her the ring that Adrian had given me on the Love Bridge. She lets out a gasp, covers her mouth with her hands, before she grabs my hand and takes a closer look at the ring. Heidi gives me a questioning looking at me, silently asking if it means what she thinks it means. I answer her with a question, “Wanna be my matron of honor?” Tears start to form in her eyes, she doesn’t move or make a sound… until…
“AAAAHHHHHHHH!” She screams out of happiness. She throws her arms around me and we fall back onto the couch. We both are laughing and smiling. And then everyone in the house or out in the yard runs into the living room.
“What is it?”
“What’s going?”
“Is everyone okay?”
“Oh my gosh! Of course! I’m honored! When are you guys thinking about having the wedding?” Heidi is talking fast and excitedly, thankfully, I can understand every word while everyone else is just looking at us mostly confused.
“Sometime this December. He didn’t just ask to put me at ease. Believe me, I checked. He just wanted me to be his wife.” I tell her a few tears start falling down my own face.
“Wait, what’s going on in December?” Kole asks.
“Nala and Adrian’s wedding.” She lifts my hand so he can see the ring, “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
“I wanted to tell you in person and Adrian wanted to be here too. He wanted to meet you and my family.”
Adrian comes over to stand at my side, and when he does Heidi gives him a hug. Kole walks over and shakes his hand, and everyone else congratulates us. We talked, I told everyone how Adrian had proposed, then we all played more games, talked about ideas for the wedding, and Heidi made sure that every weekend in December was clear, so when we had a date set, she was ready. Adrian already had made appointments ready for me, Heidi, and whomever else I invited could look at wedding dresses. Both here and in New York, he even got a famous designer to come and design one if I wanted it.
She put the dates in her calendar, and talked about the engagement party. After awhile, we got ready to head to the hotel we were staying at.
“Well that was fun.” Gaius said and Kamilah nodded in agreement.
“I know right. Those kids are a blast.” Jax says smiling. “It kinda felt like we’re all a giant family.”
“They’ve always been like that. My first Cousin Game Night, I had just called to vent, but she invited me over to get away. It was so much fun that her parents had invited me to the next one, too.” I smile at the memory. “Did you have a good time, Babe?” I ask Adrian.
He just glances at me and smiles, moving one hand off the wheel, holding it out to me palm up. I put my hand in his, and he brings my hand to his lips and presses a soft kiss to the back of it, before answering, “Yes I had fun. Heidi is a wonderful friend to you. It was nice to see you relax.” Then I see worry flash in his eyes before he says, “You feeling okay? Are you dizzy, lightheaded, or tired?”
“Surprisingly, no. I’ve felt fine ever since we landed. I’m either lucky or I’m going to feel like I got hit by a car tomorrow.” Everyone lets out a laugh, before I hear Kamilah ask,
“So, who are we meeting tomorrow?”
“Well I was hoping I could introduce you guys to my Aunt Lauren, but she’s busy for the next few days, and Porkfest is next weekend. Sooo, we could either go to the UP to see my Aunt Diana, or go to Ludington and meet up with my Aunt Karen in the afternoon, and they both have their issues that will make this difficult though.”
“What issues?” Gaius asks.
“Well, My Aunt Dianna’s ex-husband was a dirtbag, they split a long time ago, but ever since, she doesn’t like many men, other than my dad, and her kids and grandkids. And my Aunt Karen is … well a Karen. She's a tough, stubborn lady that had four kids, and she’s not afraid to tell you what she thinks. Thinking about it, she and Kamilah will get along great. I love them both, and I’m sure that they can keep quiet about our engagement for a few days?”
“What about us being vampires? How did they take that?” Jax asks. Not that I blame him.
“Well, they sounded okay with me being a vampire-human hybrid of sorts, and me bringing vampires into their homes. But they took it better than my parents did. And before you ask, my cousins have a higher chance of having list after list of questions for you to answer than kill you guys. They love stories about werewolves and vampires.”
“And your parents?” Kamilah asks because I haven’t mentioned them yet. I only told Adrian what the argument that caused my move to New York was. Adrian just gives my hand a supportive squeeze and says,
“The plan is to see them on Friday.” They can all hear the concern and dread in my voice.
“I know you have issues with them, but how bad do you think it's going to be? And isn’t Friday your birthday?” Jax asks. He understands having disagreements and fights with family members, but I never told him just how ‘fun’ this was going to be.
“Yes, Friday is my birthday. I’m hoping that will put them in a better mood. Their first baby’s twenty-fourth birthday and all. 2. Remember meeting the Five?” I see him nod and Kamilah shares a worried look with Gaius, and Adrian just looks angry for a moment. “Imagine that, but times worse.”
“How so?” Gaius asks.
“Well my sister, Sarah, is a lot like Kamilah, but way, way, way, way, way… woooorse. And my mom is pretty easy to piss off, and will yell and try to manipulate you into feeling bad. Oh and if you try to explain how something affects you, she’ll usually just say what she meant to do and wasn’t supposed to be offensive, and we just get in a loop.”
“Oh… Now I’m worried.” Jax responded, and everyone in the car fell silent. I glance back at Kamilah, she knows that she can be cold and harsh, and even she looks concerned.
“And your father?” Gaius asks.
“He actually called me the other day.” Adrian gave me a surprised look, ‘Dang it. I knew I forgot to do something before we left New York’. “Sorry, I forgot to tell you, A.”
“It’s alright, how did it go?” He squeezes my hand a little tighter.
“He apologized for my mom and sister, and told me that he supported my decision to stay in New York and you”, I look at Adrian with a fond smile, “as long as I answered a question.”
“What was the question?” Adrian asks me.
“He asked me if you treated me with love, honor, kindness, respect, and if I believed that you wanted me, and me alone.” I say still looking at him, “I told my dad that I have never felt more loved in my life. That when I draw a line or don’t want to do something, you honor and respect the fact that I don’t want to whatever it is, and you don’t push for it. You ask me before we do something. And that I don’t think I’ve ever met a man as kind as you.” Adrian wipes the tears off my face as we pull into the hotel’s parking lot.
He unbuckles his seatbelt and turns to me, still holding my face, “You mean everything to me Nala. I will always want you and you alone.” He gives me a sweet, gentle kiss.
“Get a room!” Jax says getting out of the car, along with Kamilah and Gaius. We pull away and laugh. We get out of the car and he puts his arm around me.
“Hey guys, how do you all feel about going to Ludington? It would be a few hour drive, but I know a few vampire safe spots in the area.”
They all share a look, before Gaius spoke up, “Why not. We handled Rheya, Baron, Lester, Vega, and Priya. I think we can handle your aunt.”
“Why not.” Kamilah said and Jax just shrugged. I look at Adrian to get his opinion.
“Let's get you to bed, we’ll be meeting your aunt tomorrow.”
“Ludington here we come.” We all go into our hotel and find our rooms to get some rest the days ahead.

KH Oc Week Day 6
Day 6~ Life’s Perks
Guess what I have never figured out to write because I live to torture my characters. That’s right, I have no idea how to write slice of life things usually. There’s always got to be a little angst, or I am a fish out of water. But I also love a good challenge, so here we go @khoc-week.
Annora loves to go for walks and pull pranks. And while those are some of her favorite past times, her absolute favorite past time is photography. She has a passion for candid shots of other wielders, whether it’s when they’re fighting Heartless or just relaxing in the town. She has so many pictures of her party members that Skuld has declared it stalkerish. But that doesn’t stop her from taking as many pictures as she can. For her it’s a way to hold onto the memories she makes and keep them with her.
Jax shares many of the same past times as Annora, incidentally. But he is much quieter about them than Annora. He enjoys walking through Daybreak Town and just watching all the people there. However when this treads dangerously close to his day job of gathering information for Gula, he secludes himself somewhere with a view and reads. Fun fact about this, Jax didn’t know how to read until just before coming to Daybreak Town. And even though he knows how now, he’s dyslexic so it can actually be really difficult for him. Even so, he still does enjoy all the stories he can find himself lost in when he has the patience to read.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Holding the camera at just the right angle was more difficult than she would like to admit. She was standing a few steps back from underneath the windowsill, bending backwards so just barely the edge was in her shot. The occupant of the windowsill was unaware of her, eyes glued to the book resting in his lap. He was curled into a tight ball, only a small bit of space between the book he was holding and his chest. Purple hair fell into his eyes, it looked like he had actually taken out the ponytail he usually wore.
Annora took a few shots before slightly shifting her position. Her feet skidded across the pavement, kicking a few stones back. Any normal subject wouldn’t have moved, but Jax’s head snapped up so quickly Annora hardly had time to register.
For a moment the two just stared at each other. Aqua eyes stared into icy blue ones, neither daring to blink. It was in that moment Annora realized just how strange her position must have looked from Jax’s perspective. She was nearly in a full backbend, trying to get an angle that the sunlight would highlight the features on his face.
“Um, I can explain,” Annora said, after the silence had been filled with Jax’s judging stare for far too long. He only quirked an eyebrow in response. Annora sighed, straightening herself out and brushing her bangs out of her eyes. “Right. Uh, would you believe I was just trying to take a picture of the sky with the roof?”
“Skuld’s right,” Jax said calmly, closing his book. “This is bordering on stalkerish.”
“It’s not stalking!” Annora said, dropping her camera so it hung around her neck. She crossed her arms and looked to the side. “It’s not like I’m looking for you guys. I just happen to find you.”
“Still stalkerish,” Jax said. He leaned over a little, looking at Annora more directly. “How can you even get a picture there?”
“I’m flexible,” Annora answered without hesitation. Jax only shook his head returning to his previous position. “I take it you’re going to tell me to get lost?”
“Yeah,” Jax agreed. Annora sighed but nodded. It was not the first time she had been told to leave her muse alone. Kariya and Zia had only tolerated her for a few moments before Zia had snapped. Skuld was for once nowhere to be found, but since Ven was also missing Annora could only guess it was a Dandelion thing. Takiko hadn’t even let her take one shot. He only glared at her from the moment she had appeared. Annora knew well enough to leave before he somehow managed to make her pay for it.
At the very least, wandering Daybreak Town was never boring. As long as Annora had lived in the town she always managed to find something new around every corner. It was a good way to pass the time on days like this when missions were already done, and the party was all doing their own sort of thing. But there wasn’t enough life to make it worth it. At least not for a photo shoot. Annora hated empty photo’s without people to make them interesting.
Reaching the fountain square, Annora sat at the edge of the fountain a heavy sigh. She held up her camera, looking through the pictures she had taken that day. There were a few good ones of Jax. The Leopardus guy who was always wearing a hat had let her take a few shots of him while he did some sort of science experiment in a Moogle shop. While in the gardens she had managed to find Lauriam tending to some of the flowers before he had another engagement. It had been a fairly successful day, but she still had too much time.
“I could always ask Chirithy, I guess,” Annora said to herself. She sighed leaning her head back to look at the sky. She froze, her eyes landing on a young girl resting on the roof of a nearby house.
It wasn’t the first time Annora had seen this girl. It had just been a few weeks ago she had run into her, quite literally. She had been a shy and stuttering mess at the time. Only really speaking when her brother had come and spoken for her. But even then she never spoke to Annora.
Slowly Annora raised her camera, focusing in on the orange haired girl. Her eyes were pointed to the sky, the seawater green reflecting the light perfectly. It would be hard to capture from such a distance. Fortunately the color of her hair brought out her eyes, and her white clothes kept her image simple. With her knees pulled to her chest she seemed even more like a child than most other wielders, but she had to be close to Annora’s age.
It took a few moments for the orange-haired girl to notice Annora. Her eyes widened as her cheeks dusted with a bright red. Annora chuckled lowering her camera again. Of course not before capturing the expression that had crossed her face. Annora stood brushing herself off and walking towards the building the orange-haired girl was perched on. She stopped as close as she could get before the girl was out of her sightline, which was unfortunately not very close.
“Hey, Strelitzia, what are you up to?” Annora asked. Strelitzia’s cheeks only got redder as she looked away, hiding behind her arm. She muttered some kind of response, but whatever it was Annora didn’t catch. She chuckled again, putting her hands behind her back. “It’s ok, I still swear I don’t bite. Wanna come hangout with me?”
Annora hadn’t thought it would be possible for Strelitzia to go anymore red in the face. But once again the girl’s face seemed to turn an even darker shade of red. It was cute. Annora didn’t move, giving Strelitzia whatever time she would need to weigh over the options in her head. Very slowly Strelitzia got to her feet and walked to the edge of the roof and jumped off, landing neatly in the fountain square. She walked to Annora, eyes down at the ground.
“Great, got anywhere you want to go?” Annora asked. Strelitzia shook her head. “Hm, then why don’t you help me?”
“W-with what?” Strelitzia asked, not daring to look up. It was a shame, up close Annora would have been able to properly appreciate the color of her eyes. All the same, it was the first time Strelitzia had spoken to her directly, and that was a start.
“Today’s my party’s day off, so I’m trying to get some good photo’s taken,” Annora explained, holding up her camera to further demonstrate her point. “The only problem is no one seems to want to tolerate me long enough to get many. Think you could be a model for me?”
“M-me?” Strelitzia asked, finally looking at Annora. Once again her eyes were wide, but it allowed for more of the green color to be seen. Her lips were slightly parted, only enough to allow for the subtle shocked look to fall on her features.
“Yeah,” Annora said. She couldn’t make herself look away. “I mean, I did already kinda take a few of you up on that roof. And you’re really expressive. I think I have a great spot in mind.”
“Um, I guess, that’s ok,” Strelitzia said, her eyes again falling to the side. Her arms went behind her back as a light pink dusted her cheeks again. Annora took a few steps back, quickly raising her camera and taking a picture. Strelitzia looked up in surprise after hearing the click.
“Sorry, that was perfect,” Annora chuckled, lowering her camera. She smiled, watching as the pink darkened. “Anyway, come on!”
Annora took Strelitzia’s arm, practically dragging her through the town. Strelitzia stumbled, trying to keep up. Annora could only chuckle turning to look at her as they made their way through town. There were plenty of places she could think to take Strelitzia. To the river through the town under the foreteller’s tower. To the lighthouse and the beach. To the gardens. To the meadow outside of town filled with flowers. Maybe even the cliffs that looked over the entire town. Wherever they went there was one thing Annora was certain of. The pictures were going to turn out perfect.
fake fic title - Glass Houses
Bless you for this title, anonymous. I wanted to say that before I say anything else. Now that I have, I just want to say that my brain wanted to go two totally different directions with this ( and I’m lowkey afraid you’re not in either fandom, but I hope you enjoy it in the same ) so that’s exactly what I did. It’s one title done two totally different ways?
Heads up, the stranger things one is kind of an au of my own au, oops rip me.
Both are kinda angsty. Kinda. There’s also banter.
{ STEVE HARRINGTON x CHARLOTTE (oc) }
Nancy caught up to me just as I got out of Jackson’s car and started to walk towards the double doors of Hawkins High. She glanced from me to the retreating black Impala and bit her lip as if she wanted to say something. Before she could, Barb caught up to both of us.
“Did your dad get a new car?” Barb asked, letting out a low and appreciative whistle at the car driving away before meeting my gaze.
“Nope.”
“Who was that? He looked like he was at least 21.” Nancy’s question was blunt and filled with concern when she asked it. I shrugged and bit my lip, waiting a second or two before answering.
“That was this guy I met over the summer. His name’s Jackson. He was one of the other counselors at that camp I worked at. Speaking of guys, where’s your new one?” I asked the question mostly to get her off my back, the last thing I wanted this early in the morning was one of her lectures.
It wasn’t like she had any room at all to talk, her letters over the summer had been filled with instances of her sneaking out, sneaking around with some guy. She’d been vague about a name, but honestly, I half expected it to be Jonathan Byers. This sweetheart of a guy in our grade that we’ve known since we were babies… And maybe I’ve always thought Nancy made goo goo eyes at constantly, even if she’d die before admitting it.
Before she ever even got to answer me, Steve Harrington appeared out of nowhere and I swallowed hard, giving him my best blank look for a few seconds. “Are you lost, Harrington? The jackasses and their cackling hens are all that way.” I nodded towards where he’d parked his new BMW, where Tommy H currently stood, exhaling smoke through his nostrils and laughing about it. I rolled my eyes before tearing them away.
“Ouch. I totally forgot how grouchy you are first thing in the morning, Charlie.” Steve mumbled, lazily pulling Nancy closer.
I tried, but before I could stop myself, I was flinching a little. Luckily, no one seemed to notice it because Nancy and Steve were all over one another and that only had me tensing just a little more. Yep. this is going to be one hell of a long year.
“It’s Charlotte. I like Charlotte now.” I licked my lips and finally retorted at Steve as I shifted my backpack from one side of my shoulder to the other, tapping my foot impatiently against the concrete of the sidewalk.
Nancy looked from me to Steve and when he pulled her closer, I couldn’t help the split second flinch that came. I bit my lip and spoke up. “This is the dreamy guy, Nancy?” I gave a light snort of laughter and blatantly ignored the pout Steve sent my way as he stared at me over the rim of his dark tinted sunglasses.
What, did she lose her entire goddamn mind this summer? Steve? I’d gotten my hopes up to coming back to find out that she and Jonathan were finally a thing because I just have a feeling about those two.. And I wasn’t the only one, either. One look at Barb quickly told me how she felt about this whole thing and I gave a covert nod, sure we’d both be trying to puzzle it out later between the two of us. I couldn’t wait to hear what Barb had to say about it, actually, because I wasn’t the only one Steve ditched as a friend back then.
“Mhm!” Nancy gave a soft and happy laugh and I had to really bite my tongue.
,, hello, has she totally forgotten the sleepover in 8th where I cried because Steve told me he couldn’t be my best friend anymore because it was ‘weird’? She was all about calling him a jerk then.” I had to literally fight to keep from saying it.
Rather than say any of what I was thinking, what Barb was probably also thinking, I gave a soft laugh and eyed Steve, shrugging. “Have fun with that, I suppose.” was the best I could come up with. Nancy eyed me and bit her lip nervously and Barb tensed, her hand going to her mouth. I literally couldn’t take another second of Nancy and Steve all over one another, so I turned to Barb and asked mildly, “Hey, do you wanna walk down to the girls room with me? So I can show you that thing my aunt got for me?”
“Wh-” she almost asked what thing but I carefully nudged her side and she nodded, the two of us hurrying away. The second the door to the girls room shut behind us, I was pacing and ranting about the whole thing and when I lightly punched the paper towel dispenser on the wall next to the row of sinks, I cradled one hand in the other and swore quietly.
“Feel better now? Did you get it all out? Look… All I’m saying here is that I got over the way Steve ditched all of us a while ago… Maybe there’s another reason you haven’t?”
“Don’t you dare shrink me, Barbara Holland.” I pouted, going quiet before finally admitting to it quietly. “For as long as I can remember, it’s always been me and Steve. We were so close. So close and I just…”
“You kinda fell for him.” Barbara finished and I sighed, putting my back to the bathroom stall and dramatically rolling my eyes upward. I didn’t even have to nod to acknowledge that yes, she was 100 percent right. Somewhere between kindergarten and 8th grade, even though I know it’s stupid and I realize that nobody knows who they love until they’re much older, more mature.. A small sliver of my heart was Steve Harrington. Then he took it and he broke that sliver that belonged to him and since then, I’ve just kind of… Silently been bitter.
The bathroom door burst open and Nancy stepped inside, laughing and lit up, practically glowing. I shared a look with Barb and prepared myself to put on a tolerant face. A happy face, even. Barb gave me a nod and Nancy spoke up.
“What’d your aunt get you?”
“Oh, uh…” my brain crapped out for a minute, and she raised a brow, looking from me to Barbara.
“She thought she bought it but she left it home.” Barb stepped in with the quick save and I mouthed a thank you to her when Nancy was too busy reapplying her lip gloss to notice. “So, what do you think? I mean, I’m still shocked that he likes me.”
,, you’re honestly not the only one.” the thought came accompanied by an almost crippling wave of guilt, especially in light of what Barb and I just discussed. I was getting the distinct impression that this year was not going to be an easy one at all.
The tardy bell had the three of us dashing down the hall for class and I slid into my seat with such force that I bounced lightly off of Jonathan Byers side. He glanced up and over at me for a few seconds.
“Are you okay?” he gave a smirk as our eyes met and he asked the question.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m good.” I said it quickly. Way too quickly. He chuckled quietly and nodded to the textbook I’d just dug out of my backpack. “This is History. Not Biology.”
I locked eyes with him, cheeks burning hot all over. And this literally had me blinking in shock because everything I’d just thought about Nancy being with Steve -and exactly how flustered he’d gotten me in the hallway just popping up like he had, it all came rushing back and I really had to work at shoving it down.
Because I wasn’t like her. I was not going to break girl code. I knew that she’d always kind of secretly liked Jonathan and that most likely, Steve Harrington was just a phase. I also knew that I was totally overreacting and yet...
,, Says the girl whose still being so silly enough to even remotely think she actually loved Steve at one point in time. Or that it matters at all in the grand scheme of life and stupidly refuses to just let go like she needs to.”
“Thanks.” I muttered, digging around a little more in my backpack. When I produced the pack of cinnamon flavored gum, I caught Jonathan gazing at the pack in my hands almost longingly, so with a shrug, I did my best covert lean-in, holding the pack out to him, giving a playful pout when he didn’t reach and grab immediately.
“Oh come on, Jon. Live a little, doll. The teacher’s old, nearly blind and mostly deaf. He’s never gonna know you’re chewing gum.” I giggled softly. Jonathan chuckled at what I said and he took a stick from the pack.
I went back to paying attention to the textbook and about halfway during the class, a folded square of paper landed neatly on the corner of my desk. I glanced up and around, and after confirming that the teacher obviously hadn’t seen it happen, I slipped my hand out, gripping the folded square and slid it back towards me, my bracelets jingling and making me pause a second.
The note was from Steve.
I’m sorry. I miss being your friend, okay? I really miss it. I hope this doesn’t get weird...
There were several different ways I could’ve gone. If I bothered responding. But frankly, the fact that he’d ditch me and Barb like we hadn’t been best friends our entire lives… just because he wanted to be popular and we weren’t good enough at the time… I didn’t bother answering. Letting him sweat it out was way easier.
JUICE ORTIZ x HAZEL TELLER (oc)
“ What’s she doin here, huh?” Juice asked the question to my brother Jax as loudly as possible and I tensed at the chill in his voice, biting my lip. I didn’t turn around immediately because if I did, I knew he’d take one look at me and know he’d hurt me a little. But he was getting good at that lately. So dismissive.
“She’s gonna work the bar for us until she finds a job, man.” Jax exhaled a drag from the cigarette pressed between his lips and finished off the glass of bourbon I’d poured him before the others came in. “Is there gonna be a problem, Ortiz?”
“Just wonderin.” Juice grumbled quietly.
I was finally pulled together enough at this point that I could turn around and face him. With the sweetest smile I could muster, I poured him a glass of his favorite beer and silently shoved it right at him. When a little of it sloshed up over the rim and splattered on the front of his white tee shirt, I shrugged and bit my lip before turning away again.
Naturally, it was Tig who spoke up, clearing his throat. “You two gonna act like this all the time? If the tension gets any thicker in here, I’m gonna bust a nut.”
“Jesus Christ, Trager.” Jax coughed, glaring at the other man. “That is my sister, man. I don’t wanna think about that shit.”
I turned and gave Tig a teasing smirk. “What tension?”
Oh, I know perfectly well what he’s talking about. Nobody’s forgotten the fact that way back… before this MC bullshit crept into his life… Juice and I dated. Then when he pledged, we broke up because at the time, I didn’t want the danger and the pain this life has been known to cause.
Not to mention dear old stepdad. It was pretty much either break things off or risk Clay trying to kick his goddamn head in. Or so I thought at the time. Apparently, I found myself thinking bitterly as I wiped down the bar top, I was wrong because here Juice is, a full member of the Sons.
Obviously, the fact that I’m here and working at the MC would show that my stance on that is changed. And you wouldn’t be wrong, it has. It took me leaving to realize that I threw away a really good thing. A near fucking perfect thing. Just because I was afraid of both letting down my guard and allowing myself to really love Juice Ortiz like he deserved and the thought of losing him due to something happening.
So, I came back. And naturally, now he hates me.
Chapter 2: “Can Never Be the Same”
Panic takes over Samantha, not knowing what to do. It was pitch black, tight inside something she isn’t sure of, but she figures what’s wrong with her. Thanks to her friends and love that told her about their experience when they first start turning. Her throat is taken over by thirst.
She moves her arms around, trying to feel what space she has around her. Then with strength she now has tries to knock the top as much as her energy she has.
Meanwhile, a while ago, Jax was with the Clanless to get as many dead bodies to give them a proper burial with the help of those still alive.
Lily and Adrian help getting contact with the government and whatever help they can get to get any survivors, clean up New York and for rebuilding. Once in a while, they check on Kamilah, bringing her blood to help her thirst.
For Kamilah herself, while feeding herself blood, she got herself a stake and sets it down by her. Her eyes never left on the sarcophagus. Part of her is still hopeful and determined that Samantha won’t go feral. Yet another part of her feels like she didn’t do the process of turning her on time.
She remembered when she before turned her past lovers... Some she was able to turn without them going feral, but got killed... Some she wasn’t able to on time and she had to kill them. Some just didn’t want to become immortal...
Thinking now what would Samantha think? Will she accept it or get angry at her for turning her without asking permission.
Then she heard someone coming down from the sound of cemented steps getting louder from her enhanced hearing.
“Are you ready Kamilah?” Adrian having a stake in his hand, but his expression still in sadness. Lily held onto her crossbow and Jax’s hand on his sword in case things go wrong.
Kamilah takes a hold of her stake, “I….. I’m not sure. I never felt this nervous for a long time.”
Lily takes a hold of her hand that isn’t holding onto the stake, looking at her with a frown, “I know this isn’t like when you and Adrian was trying to turn me and ready to stake if I turned feral. I have faith this won’t go so bad like with me.”
Kamilah looks down at their hands, feeling the comfort of the purple haired vampire. The older vampire woman nods in agreement, “I am hopeful Lily, thank you for the comforting words. I’m … Happy that Samantha has someone like you to watch out for her.” She says before letting go of her hands away from Lily.
The Vampire Queen tightens her grip around the stake, looking at Jax and then Adrian.
Adrian sighs deeply, “Sister, you know if you don’t want to do it. I can do it. Like I did for Lily. I’ll do the same for her.” He holds up his stake.
“I’m not sure if I can handle killing my own best friend. I don’t know what I would do if I’m the one. If I have to, then I would. She would do the same.” Lily turns her head to look at Adrian after checking on her crossbow to make sure it’s loaded.
Jax unsheathed his sword and shakes his head, “You don’t have to go through this Kamilah. I know you and I had a rocky start, but let me do this to return the favor of not killing me and helping me with the clanless.”
Kamilah shaking her head, conflicted if she should do it or someone else, “I… I don’t know…. This is Samantha we’re talking about. This would’ve been easy if it’s not her, but it isn’t… I don’t wanna lose her…. If she becomes feral… I don’t know….. Maybe-” A knocking fills the vampires’ ears in the dim lighted room. Only a few torches were the only source of light they had.
Everyone looking around to see where it’s coming from. It becomes louder as they realize where the source of the sound coming from…. The sarcophagus.
Everyone’s eyes go wide, scenarios forming in their head.
“Oh my god, do you guys think?” Adrian asks, getting ready for whatever happens with the stake in his hand.
“Do you think she’s feral?” Jax holds his sword up, already in his stance.
“No.. It can’t be..” Lily’s eyes start to water a little, her hands start shaking.
Kamilah didn’t respond, stepping forward and place her hands on top of the sarcophagus.
“Adrian, open the lid.” All she finally said.
Adrian walks over, placing his hands on the lid, then looking at everyone.
All both Jax and Lily give them a nod, weapons in hand and ready.
Kamilah frowns at him, but slowly nods to have him open. Everyone is now ready to see Samantha’s state.
Raines Corp’s CEO opens the lid slowly. As it reveals the inside, it was kinda dark since the torch’s lights weren’t enough to see the full state of Samantha’s transformation.
What it is clear is that they can see the figure’s red glowing eyes.
In just seconds after, the figure jumps out, one of Samantha’s arms lunge out, but thanks to Kamilah’s reflexes, she grabs her wrists and about to stab her. The thought to stab her in front of her mind now till …...
The newly turned one in just a second grabs the vampire queen’s wrist with a tight grip with her fast reflexes. Samantha streaks up and revealing herself thanks to the torches’s flame.
Everyone’s eyes widen, they don’t see gray skin, her eyes aren’t all bloody red like the kind that the ferals would have, only her irises and pupils like the vampires would. Samantha’s fangs extend out like theirs would.
Kamilah’s grip on her slightly loosens, “Sam?” She gives a frown, in her mind she’s glad she’s not feral, but fear still in her mind about her sanity.
Samantha’s expression is showing that she’s defensive, but also in fear. Lily and Jax has their weapons lowered. Adrian still kept his stake up in case something goes wrong.
“Bestie?” Lily starts tearing, in joy she’s not feral.
Samantha blinks a few times, her expression changes to shock, then in relief, “Kamilah?” The new vampire lets go of Kamilah’s wrist as Kamilah let’s go as well, now realizing she’s fine. Her eyes darting around looking at everyone in confusion. Stepping away, out of the coffin.
Adrian sighs in relief, lowering his stake and steps toward Samantha, “We’re happy that you’re ok now. How do you feel now Samantha?”
Samantha looks at her CEO, “I’m ok, I just….. What happened after…. I killed Gaius…. I thought I’m dead?” She asks, looking at Jax and then Lily.
Lily shakes her head, stepping forward to hold her best friend’s hand, giving it a squeeze, “You got turned… We brought you to the sarcophagus to finish the process of your turning…. Kamilah did it to save you. She was...” Then Kamilah raises her hand to Lily.
“I did it Samantha…. I turned you...” Kamilah responds after interrupting the young vampire. The newly turned vampire turns to look at the CEO of Ahmanet Financial.
Samantha tilts her head down, “I see… So i’m not immortal, I’m a vampire now… This is so much to take in.” Taking a deep breath after responding.
Jax comes toward her, putting his hand on her shoulder, “I know. You’ll get used to it, we understand and know how it was like to first be turned.”
The vampire Queen looks at the Jax, Lily and then Adrian, “You three go. I must speak to Samantha… Alone… And I will be the one to teach her to learn and adapt with her new abilities.” She requests to the three.
Lily lets go of Samantha’s hand, giving her a quick hug. Jax lets go of her shoulders and Adrian glances at Samantha and Kamilah before nodding at them. All three of them leave off and went upstairs.
Right when all three disappear out of the room, Kamilah takes a deep breath, “I hope you forgive me…. I… I wanted to turn you because I didn’t want to lose you… If you are mad at me, i’ll understand. If you wanna leave me….. Then I will… accept it. If you don’t want me anymore ...” Kamilah eyes start getting teary, her head tilts down, guilt in her voice that makes Samantha feel her eyes water.
Samantha runs, even if just a few big steps away from each other, towards her Queen, throwing her arms around neck, burying her head in her neck.
Now with her new vampire strength, Kamilah makes a surprise sound with a groan, she was a bit surprised how Samantha is able to actually crack her a little, but then sighs in relief, relaxing her body against her while circling her arms around Samantha’s waist, then bringing one of her hands up to stroke her dark hair, “Please forgive me…. I couldn’t let you go. I couldn’t bear it…..” The Queen leans the side of her head against the pup’s head.
“Kamilah, I didn’t want to leave you. I’m... happy you did, I wanna be with you. Didn’t we promised each other we’ll survive no matter what happens to what Gaius does to us. We’re supposed to share our lives together…?”
Kamilah finally smiles slightly, guilt leaving out of her mind, feeling Samantha’s heart beating against her chest because of how close they are. She looks down to look into her eyes, now back to their normal color, “I haven’t forgotten my promises… Now… I am Yours, from this day on till my last. I am your Queen and you’re mine.” The egyptian vampire strokes her cheek, her smile becoming brighter.
Samantha looking at Kamilah’s brown eyes with her hazel, beaming up at her and giving her a kiss on her soft lips that she always loved. “You still need to get me that ridiculous tiara you promised me.” She states, making the Kamilah chuckle softly.
“Yes, I haven’t forgotten such a thing. You are my princess.” The older vampire moves a few strands of the newborn’s hair over her ear, then giving her a light forehead kiss.
Samantha sighs deeply after, “I don’t know how I can control my powers…. I can’t afford to kill people...” She frowns while shaking her head.
Kamilah takes both sides of her head in her palms, one of her thumbs stroking her cheek to give her reassurance, “Don’t worry my Firefly, it will be hard at first, I know…. I know what it was like. I believe you can overcome it eventually. I believe you can control your powers, just like when I did with Lily. You’re a marvelous woman… I believe in you and that because…. I love you.”
“Kamilah..I.” Samantha’s mouth gapes slightly open, a bit shocked, but her heart beats in her chest harder. She knew that Kamilah cares for her, she wanted to be hers and live a life together, but she never knew she would say the L word.
“I know Sam…. I said it now and I did… Before you…. Almost died… I know it’s so sudden, I wanted to tell you before it’s too late. I always have loved you and I always will even after realizing how much I needed you. You helped me see something in my life that I never thought I would have. If you want to slow things down a little, go further or even stay things how it is. Just tell me then....” Kamilah says with a nod, her eyelids hooding her eyes a little, waiting for her response.
The younger vampire nods, “I want us to go further, be together, live a life together. I know I do because I love you too…. I will always love you. I hoped to one day say it to you, but I was afraid that you wouldn’t even accept the word. I love the person you are. I always knew there’s something about you that drew me to you, even after getting to know you.” Samantha confesses, a tear falls down on her cheek from joy.
Kamilah wipes it off with her finger, “God that makes me very… very happy to hear that. I feel the same way…. Now that’s done, let’s go to important matters for you especially. You need to start learning about your powers, how to keep control and how many times to drink blood to keep your thirst from going into bloodlust.”
“Can you hold me, just for a moment? I just want us to be together longer, even before this training.” Samantha puts her head in the crook of Kamilah’s neck, her arms tight around the Vampire Queen’s waist.
“As you wish.” Kamilah answers with a smile, then rests her chin against the pup’s head, wrapping her arms around her body, relaxing again against her. “I miss you so much. I don’t know what I would do without you if I ever really lose you again.” She adds before closing her eyes.
Samantha hums in her neck, loving the scent of lavender on her thanks to her enhanced senses taking over, “I would never want to leave you ever… I am never planning to...”
“I’m in relief to hear you say that.” Kamilah says, realizing her heart is filled with happiness that she never thought she would’ve ever had till being with Samantha.
I WANNA HEAR ABOUT YOUR V if thats ok
you… you really do?
‘cause if that’s true then hell yes! (tbh i’d yell about my ocs from a top of a mountain if only anyone would listen)
heck, where do i even start? anyways, long ass post ahead!
BACKSTORY!
To makelong ass story somewhat short: Jax was raised by her big bro - Alek - and, for aslong as she could remember, she believed her brother’s explanation of theirlonely existence, which was that their parents were, simply put, a couple ofjerks not suited for a family life. By his words their dad was a borderline psychoborgtoo busy ripping implants out of people, while the mom was a dirtgirl tooaddicted to braindance to care for her kids. And when the young lad justcouldn’t take it anymore, he snatched his little sister out of bed and ran withher into the night so they could both start a new life. Jaxine never doubtedthe story, even if the way they lived always seemed kinda fishy - like they werein hiding - not to mention it was somewhat suspicious that her bro wouldconstantly “go to work” armed to the teeth.
Welp, turnsout that all of this was a lie (what a twist!). In truth, Jaxie’s dad was onehelluva Netrunner who got his bread by getting people into parts of the Netthat they had no legal access to and occasionally stealing a few files fromcorpos here and there to sell them to fixers for some extra eddies. And iftheir dad was all about that software, their mom was the hardware maestro whocould build a computer out of scrap metal like it was Legos. They were quite apower couple and managed to attract more than a few followers and basically started theirown tiny little gang whose main job was to ruin all the fun for the corps inthe virtual world. And, of course, something had to go wrong eventually. So itdid. They stole info about a shipment of expensive Arasaka tech and sold it toa fixer. But before they could get their hands on that juicy high tech, somerat snitched on them. One of their guys turned up to be a corpo whistleblower whose sole purpose was to sniff out the infamous Netrunner who was stealing theirdata. A whole ass witch hunt began and the dad knew he fucked up big time. Sobig, in fact, he knew for damn sure Arasaka was coming for him and his family.So he put his little daughter into his son’s arms along with some valuable datashards regarding his work, made him promise he’ll keep his sis safe and senthim on his merry way, whilst running with the wife in the opposite direction.
And itworked! Surprisingly. Alek did such an amazing job at concealing theirfootsteps they managed to live pretty happily and untouched by the corpos formany years. The brother became a solo and an edgerunner pretty early and tookon an alias of the ‘Vulture’ - ‘V’ for short. He was so damn good at his job theynever knew poverty. Buuut as they say ‘the faster you run away from yourpast…’ Jax was almost 18 when Arasaka found them. He gunned them all downlike dogs, even though he knew there was no way he’d survive. In the aftermathof the bloodbath, leaning against the wall of their wrecked living room,bleeding and dying, he promised her he was going to be fine, gave her thosemysterious shards, told her to grab his gun and bike and go to Night City, makea simple delivery to his old friend. Jax felt it was a goodbye and that those mercswere no damn drug dealers who came to collect an old debt. But she listened tohim anyway and rode to Night City.
There, this‘friend’ person who turned out to be the last surviving associate of her parents,told her the truth. The entire story and not a single lie. That day she made ither life goal to harass Arasaka at every turn, make their lives miserable, DDoSthe fuck out of their Net, mess up their systems real good! She adopted herbrother’s alias (though this time it most likely stood for ‘Vendetta’ howeversaucy that might sound) and began to follow in her parents’ footsteps, learningall she could about hacking and tech. Eventually, V got good enough at it soshe could jam tracking devices and disable surveillance programming in order toremain ‘inivisible’ to those who’d find her pranks unfunny. Though, apparently,someone’s been looking for her recently… Wonder what’s that all about, huh?
TL;DR!
JaxineBryce is a trash goblin and a bi disaster, who’s a not-so-bad Netrunner and asomewhat-acceptable Techie. She came to NC after her brother’s death to be apain in the Arasaka Corp.’s ass for personal reasons as well as for shits andgiggles.
She’s ofmixed race, though she mostly takes after her Asian mom. Her hazel eyesare long gone and replaced by some cute orange-glowing optics, and herbluish-black hair is always a hot mess that she just can’t be bothered to take careof it (if she could she’d wear a ‘Bad Hair Day’ beanie hat all day every day).Doesn’t really have that much skin wiring and such, prefers to conceal most of her cyberwareand look as natural as possible due to her fear of slipping into cyberpsychosis.
She alwaysloved to blast Johnny Silverhand on full volume in her room, but ever sinceArasaka kinda sorta ruined her life, she really started to like this guy, evengot herself a glowing tattoo of Samurais (not to mention the Samurai jacket,which was a birthday gift from the brother!).
She can’tdo shit in combat (besides firing a gun and only because her bro took her outshooting once), but boy can she fuck up your cyberware if you get too close.For these reasons she desperately relies on Jackie to be the ‘wall’ between herand the enemy, but at the same time she always makes T-Bug’s work a tad biteasier.
Other thanthat, she absolutely loves NiCola, dreams of owning at least a couple of cats, believes coffee and ramen to be the crowning achievments of humanity, is an AI rights supporter and a speed junkie to the bone despite not being the best driver in the book. Can’treally drive cars that well, but boy does she love bikes! And adding her ownlittle touches to her vehicles. Like, that one time she spray-painted Jackie’snew car neon pink and now he won’t leave her alone with his car unsupervised…
Jaxine issomewhat introverted and really clings onto people that she knows. T-Bug alwaysappeared to her like a caring big sister, while doctor Victor became a newfather figure in her life after her brother’s demise. V’s also got the biggestof crushes on Jackie, though she’d rather die in a fire than tell him, mostlybecause she really doesn’t want to ruin their amazing friendship (besides, shewon’t survive a day in NC without Jackie’s help). And even though she jokesaround a lot, she has a tendency to fall in and out of depression. Jackie’s happy attitudealways helped her deal with those kind of anxious feelings and going out forthe night on the town with her best amigo will always be her preferred way todo therapy. Despite all that, Jaxine’s genuinely a ‘good guy’, but definitely nota ‘knight in shining armor’. Sure, she’ll help you out if she happens upon youwhile on a job, but don’t expect her to go on a righteous quest to save theworld. Her only goal in life is avenging her family, letting go of the past andfinding a place to truly call home and nothing else. As soon as there’s nothingof importance holding her in Night City, she’ll hop on her bike and be gonebefore sunrise.
The next day, the Waverider was on its way to València, Spain, 2025.
“I’ll have you know that all of your future selves are present in 2025,” Rip told the team, “So no galavanting off to Central or Star City. Try to stay within València if you can.”
“Does that mean we all make it to 2025,” Sara jokingly asked.
“It does,” he replied, his expression serious, “and I think we’d all appreciate it if that didn’t change, so be careful. All of you.”
They all walked to the cargo hold where the team would part ways — even if only temporarily.
“We’ll be landing in about a minute,” Rip informed them, “You may say goodbyes if you so desire.”
They all said their farewells and then Rip directed the half of the team heading for València towards three separate cars. He climbed into the drivers seat of the large black SUV that apparently belonged to Sara and Leonard.
“What is it about having one child that makes parents think they need a car that seats seven of them?” Sara grumbled as she buckled Elsie into her carseat.
“An excellent question, Miss Lance,” Rip replied, starting up the car.
Soon, they were driving away from the Waverider into the city of València, Spain.
They first dropped Jax and Stein off on the campus of València University and then stopped at an apartment complex to show Ray his new home for the next several months. Finally, they pulled down the street of a gated neighborhood.
“Now remember,” Rip began, “You’ll be posing as a well-to-do American family who moved for Mr. Snart’s job when the company he works for was absorbed into the one based here. Sara, you’ll be posing as a stay-at-home mom — don’t roll your eyes — and while Elsie’s at school, you teach kick-boxing and self-defense classes at the gym.”
“And if I don’t know how to do that?” Sara asked, eyebrows raised.
“If my memory is correct, your tactic for our last mission was, I believe, to ‘wing it’,” he said, “I suggest you take your own advice.”
Sara rolled her eyes.
“Now,” Rip continued, “I know you are not going to enjoy this, Miss Lance, but there is a community of mothers in this neighborhood who I believe could provide some valuable information to us throughout the mission.”
“You want me to be a PTA mom,” Sara clarified.
“Not exactly. This group isn’t connected to any school district, but I suppose there will be similarities,” he conceded, “Mr. Snart, you’ll be working at a security company — yes, I do see the irony, Miss Lance — that also employs our target, Mr. Reyes. I do implore you to be careful. He may not be a sociopathic dictator yet, but some of those tendencies may already be there.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Leonard replied. Rip let out an exasperated breath, but said nothing until they pulled up to a driveway near the end of the street, just before a wide cul-de-sac.
Ivy and leafy, climbing bushes grew along a tall wrought-iron fence, blocking the house from view of the street.
Rip pushed a button on a remote attached to the sun visor and the gates opened to a gravel driveway. He drove underneath the drooping branches of a weeping willow tree and then they saw their new home.
It was different from what Sara had been picturing — although she wasn’t quite sure what even that had looked like.
It was very big — not quite a mansion, but about as close as a house could get in a suburban neighborhood — with a very green lawn and vibrant shrubs and flowers growing along the driveway and against the side of the house.
The walls were made of a white-painted stucco that contrasted the dark window frames and black Spanish tile roof. There were two rocking chairs on the front porch, shaded by a roof balanced on two dark wooden beams, with two floral pillows set purposefully on the seats.
“This house has been here for two hundred years,” Rip told them, “It’s been highly renovated, but the original structure remains.”
“This looks like the type of house I’d only go in to case,” Leonard said.
“Well, prepare to experience the other side, Mr. Snart,” Rip replied, “I meant it when I said ‘well-to-do’.”
They followed the driveway as it curved towards the side of the house, becoming a wide circle that looped back the way it came. In this space was parked a large moving truck.
“The house is already mostly furnished,” Rip said as he shifted the car into park, “There’s a few boxes left in the truck, just for the sake of neighbors seeing you bringing things inside.”
As Leonard unbuckled Elsie from her car seat, Rip handed Sara the keys to the SUV and got out of the car.
“There’s another car in the garage,” he told them, “A smaller one, for you to get to and from work, Mr. Snart.”
They headed for the front door.
“I know this all seems extravagant, but it’s for a reason,” Rip said, “It’s crucial to the mission that you integrate yourselves into the community of the neighborhood.”
He fished a key out of his pocket, unlocked the front door and led them inside.
“Mama!” Elsie pointed out one of the windows that looked into the backyard, “A pool!”
By now they had moved into the foyer, with the same white stucco as the exterior of the house. The hallway, rather than extending forwards, stretched to either side, with archways leading into other rooms. Across from the front door was a large window with stained-glass detailing that looked out into the backyard where they saw a patio and, as Elsie had pointed out, a pool.
“Yes,” Rip said as Sara went to look, “There’s a pool back there. You also have a room with some tech that will connect you to Gideon. It’s how we can keep in contact so you don’t have to frequently return to the Waverider, but I suppose you can use her knowledge for anything else you might need — although you don’t have her medical tech or the fabricator. Hopefully, you’ll need neither.”
“Huh,” Sara said, taking the house keys Rip handed to her, “Haven’t gone grocery shopping in, like, twelve years.”
“I believe you’ll adjust, Miss Lance,” Rip replied, heading down a hallway. He pointed out a closed door across the hall, “That door leads to a bedroom — there are four bedrooms in total in the house.”
“Four?” Sara asked skeptically.
“Yes,” Rip nodded, “Three upstairs and one downstairs.”
“You do realize we don’t have five children, right?” she asked, glancing back in the direction of the car, “and the one we do have sleeps in our room half the time, so…”
“Well, if ever any of the rest of the team needed to stay in town, it wouldn’t make sense for them to stay with any of the others, so I gave you guys a couple guest rooms.”
“Great,” Leonard exhaled.
They followed Rip into the kitchen.
It was very bright, with white cabinets and walls that contrasted the terra cotta brick tiles on the floor. A glass door in the opposite wall led out to the patio by the pool.
“In those files,” Rip said, pointing to a stack of manila folders on the marble counter, “is all the documentation you’ll need, including birth certificates, driver’s licenses, bank paperwork and the like. There’s also information you’ll need about your jobs and Elsie’s school.”
Sara nodded as Leonard opened the top most folder and started skimming over its contents.
“Mommy,” Elsie said, pulling on Sara’s arm, “I wanna go see my room.”
“First door at the top of the stairs,” Rip told her, tipping his head in the direction of the hallway. Elsie looked back to Sara.
“You can go,” Sara encouraged her.
“Can you come?” Elsie asked quietly.
“I will when Rip leaves,” Sara replied. Elsie nodded, her hand moving from Sara’s sleeve to grip onto three of her fingers.
“I trust you’ll make smart decisions,” Rip said, looking between Leonard and Sara, “It’s been a long few years, but somehow, it’s not the pair of you that concerns me anymore.”
“Yeah, maybe it wasn’t the best idea to leave Ray in the same building as the future mass murderer we’re trying to take down,” Leonard drawled.
“Point taken,” Rip said with an exhale that conveyed it wasn’t the first time this issue had been raised to him.
“I think,” he continued, “it’s time for me to take my leave. Trust me when I say the neighbors will be stopping by and it’s best that I’m not here when that happens.”
“Should we be…worried, or something?” Sara asked.
Rip didn’t answer as he headed for the door.
He stopped, his hand on the doorknob.
“Do enjoy your time in the normal world,” he told them, “I’ll be in contact shortly with directions on how to proceed.”
And then he was gone.
“Ready to explore the new house?” Sara asked Elsie. She nodded, a mischievous smile growing on her face as she squirmed out of Sara’s arms and headed for the stairs.
Sara watched her go before she turned back to meet Leonard’s eyes.
“So we’re actually here,” she said, “I kinda thought something would happen before…”
He nodded, his eyes sweeping over the foyer of their new house.
“Mama!” Elsie called. They looked over to see Elsie sitting on the top step, “C’mon!”
“Just a second, bear,” Sara said before looking back to Leonard.
“I’m gonna go check out the town,” he told her, “get the lay of the land, figure out where everything is.”
Sara chuckled.
“What?” he asked, unable to hold in a smile at the look of fondness on her face.
“Some things never change,” she said, matching his smile.
“Mommy-y,” Elsie whined from the top of the stairs.
“I’m coming,” Sara replied, starting towards the stairs. She turned back to Leonard, “Pretty sure I saw the keys for the other car on the counter if you don’t want to take the monstrosity of suburbatory.”
He nodded with a smirk and headed back towards the kitchen.
“Where’s Daddy going?” Elsie asked, getting to her feet as Sara climbed the stairs.
“He’s gonna go explore the new town,” she told her, “Find all the important places like your school and his new work.”
“But what about the new house?” she asked.
“It’ll still be here when he gets back,” Sara replied, “We can show him the coolest parts then, and maybe we can convince him to find a pizza place while he’s exploring. Sound good?”
“Yeah!” Elsie exclaimed with an excited smile.
“Okay, Rip said first door at the top of the stairs,” she said, “I think this is it.”
Elsie pushed open the door.
“Woah!” she exclaimed.
Elsie’s new room was large, bigger than her room on the Waverider. Three of the four walls were wallpapered in white flowers over a light blue background. The bed was pushed against one of the corners opposite the door, a dusty pink comforter almost completely hiding light blue sheets.
“Mommy, look! A canopy!” Elsie exclaimed.
There was indeed a canopy, a pink one that hung idly from the ceiling over the head of Elsie’s bed.
A woven tapestry was hung on the wall between two windows and above a dark wooden trunk Sara was sure was filled with toys.
Sara looked down to see Elsie lying on her back on a cream colored shag rug.
“Is that soft?” she asked, laughing.
“Uh-huh!” Elsie nodded. She jumped to her feet and ran over to the dresser, opening and closing all the drawers, “It’s empty.”
“I know,” Sara replied, “We can put all the clothes and stuff we packed yesterday in it later.”
She waited while Elsie finished exploring her room before they moved on.
There was an open living space upstairs with a big TV and a couch and some bookshelves, one of the spare bedrooms Rip had mentioned, and a bathroom that, judging by the yellow flowery shower curtain and the basket of bath toys, was supposed to be Elsie’s.
The master bedroom was also very large. Glass doors opposite the king bed opened to a balcony that looked out over the backyard.
“I want a balcony,” Elsie grumbled, gripping the metal railway and looking out at the pool, “Can we go swimming?”’
“Sure,” Sara replied, “We gotta get your boxes out of the truck, though.”
“Okay!” Elsie called, already halfway towards the stairs.
A couple hours later, Leonard returned to the house with the pizza Sara and Elsie had requested. He found them in the backyard, Sara sitting in a wicker chair on the stone patio with a book, Elsie splashing around in the shallow end of the pool, yellow inflatable floats on her arms.
“What happened to not getting in the water?” Leonard asked when he saw Sara’s damp hair. She turned towards his voice, putting her book down and standing up.
“Well, Elsie decided she wants to learn how to swim,” she replied, “and even though I managed to leave the League of Assassins…twice, I can’t say no to her.”
“Pizza!” Elsie yelped, pulling herself out of the pool. She sat down in another chair at the metal table, doing an anxious little dance as she waited for her dinner.
“You’d think we don’t feed her or something,” Sara said with raised eyebrows as she pulled a slice of pizza from the box. Elsie was eating as soon as the plate was in front of her.
“Good?” Leonard asked her.
“Uh-huh!” Elsie nodded.
“Babe, you’re dripping all over your pizza,” Sara said, “Here, let me get you a towel.”
“No-o.” she whined, leaning away.
“Okay,” Sara said, watching with an expression of bemusement as Elsie’s dripping hair left wet spots on the paper plate She turned to Leonard, “So what’s the town like?”
“It’s nice,” he answered, nodding, “Old. A lot older than Central. We’re not too far from the university,” Leonard replied, “Jax could be here in ten minutes if he need to be. Ray’s building is a little further in the other direction, closer to the center of city. If Rip ever needs us to have a meeting all together, it’ll be here.”
“Fantastic,” Sara said drily.
“We’re close to the beach,” Leonard added, “maybe walking distance if Elsie’s in a good mood.”
“Ooh, can we go?” Elsie asked, bouncing in her chair.”
“Maybe tomorrow,” Sara told her, “Depends on the weather.”
“Nineties and sunny all week,” Leonard sighed, leaning back in his chair.
“Aww, do you think you’ll make it?” Sara asked him, feigning concern.
“No,” he replied. Sara laughed, running a hand up and down his arm.
After dinner, Elsie showed Leonard all her favorite parts the new house: the canopy in her bedroom, the flowery shower curtain, the balcony. Then, after a bubble bath in the new bathtub with all her new toys, she started getting tired.
“I don’t wanna get dressed,” Elsie whined, lying in a heap on her bedroom floor, tangled in her goldfish-shaped towel.
“You have to, bear,” Sara said calmly, from her spot on Elsie’s bed, a pair of blue cotton pajamas in her hand.
“No-o,” she said tearfully.
It took another fifteen minutes to get Elsie into pajamas and downstairs.
“Long day, Else?” Leonard asked as Sara ran a hand through Elsie’s hair.
Sara felt her nod underneath her touch.
“I’m not surprised she’s being like this,” she said, looking up at Leonard, “She was all excited about the new house, plus it’s thirty degrees warmer than she’s used to. I’m actually surprised she’s not being worse.”
“Hey!” Elsie said, her voice muffled in her arms.
“I was saying something nice, bear,” Sara told her, then added, “Sort of.”
“At least she’s not jet-lagged,” Leonard pointed out.
Sara nodded seriously.
“I guess that’s one of the perks of having a timeship — no time difference.”
“Can we read stories now?” Elsie asked.
“Not yet,” Sara shook her head.
“Why-y?”
“If we read now, you’re gonna fall asleep, and if you fall asleep now you’ll wake up at,” Sara glanced at the clock on the microwave, “four in the morning, which I don’t really want to deal with. Do you wanna color until bedtime?”
Elsie raised her head and nodded.
Just as Elsie was uncapping a yellow marker, the doorbell rang. a low chime that sounded through the house.
Sara met Leonard’s eyes.
“They’re here,” she said, feigning fear, “Turn the lights off. Hide Elsie.”
“Stay away from the windows,” he added, his voice low, a small smirk on his face as he headed for the door.
“Who’s here?” Elsie asked, looking up at Sara.
“I dunno,” Sara told her, “Some of our new neighbors probably.”
She heard the door open and then Leonard’s voice, too far away to be distinguishable words. A minute or so later, she heard footsteps in the hallway and then Leonard was walking into the kitchen with their first new neighbor behind him.
Before Leonard could introduce her, she stepped towards Sara.
“Hello!” she said in a high, clear voice, “I’m Laura.”
Laura was a tall woman, and probably only a year or so older than Sara, with brown eyes and dark brown hair that was pushed back from her face by large sunglasses. She was pretty in a fashionable way, and dressed as such in black narrow-leg pants and a white blouse. She wore shiny black heels that clicked on the tile as she approached Sara.
“Hi,” Sara replied, shaking her hand, “Sara. Nice to meet you.”
“Sara,” Laura repeated, “Nice to meet you too. Welcome to the neighborhood. Your husband was telling me that you just moved here from the states.”
“Yeah, we love it here already,” Sara replied. She saw Laura’s eyes travel to Elsie, who was making herself very small in her chair, trying her best not to be seen, “This is our daughter, Elsie. Else, can you say hi?”
“Hi,” Elsie said shyly, looking at at Laura through her lashes.
“Oh, she’s precious!” Laura exclaimed. She looked back at Sara, “How old is she?”
“Four,” Sara answered, nodding.
“How nice! I have a four year old at home as well, and an eighteen month old. They should meet!”
Before Sara could respond, Laura continued.
“There’s several kids in the neighborhood,” she said, “Myself and the other mothers get together about once a week. The kids play and we sit and have coffee and chat. Here, why don’t you give me your phone number and I’ll let you know our plans for this week. You can meet everybody and your daughter can meet the kids.”
Sara recited the new number she’d memorized for the mission and Laura put it in her phone.
About five minutes after Laura left, her phone buzzed. The message read:
Hi, it’s Laura. Nice to meet you and your family today! I’ll let you know when our next get-together is.
Sara shot back a quick response and then look up at Leonard.
“I’m gonna kill Rip.”
Hollys Costume & Makeup
“Hey Hol, are you almost done with my laptop?” Juice called across the clubhouse, as he laced up his boots, one foot up on the coffee table and the other stood firmly on the ground. The brunette at the bar ignored him, her eyes glued to the screen of his laptop.
“She not talking to you man?” Tig asked, an amused look on his face at the idea of drama between his brother and Holly, Donna’s cousin. Juice shrugged and rolled his eyes before walking across the room. Tig followed him and they both leant against the bar, either side of her. “Whatcha looking at?” Juice asked, and pushed the corner of the laptop so he could see the screen. Images of halloween makeup filled the screen, all bloody and gory. “You know its only August, right?” Juice teased. Holly rolled her eyes and pulled the lap top back in front of her and continued scrolling. “I wanna get my costume ready.” “Aren’t you a little too old to go trick-or-treating?” Tig asked. Holly snorted. “Its for the party.” Juice tilted his head to the side in confusion. “What party?” Holly closed the tab on the screen and shut the laptop before pushing it back to Juice. “The Halloween party.” She said, as if it was obvious, before she slid off the stool and went behind the bar to grab some beers. “You’re kidding right?” “Juice I never joke about the holidays.” Holly said as she opened a beer and passed it to Tig. “You can throw a party, sweetheart. But no one’s gonna dress up.” Tig stated. As he said that, Bobby and Chibs walked through the door and sat at the bar alongside their brothers. Holly pulled two more beers out of the fridge for the newcomers and passed them to the men. With a furrowed brows, and her lips pouting out and she turned to Tig. “Ya know, I thought you would have liked playing dress up, Tiggy.” “Oh baby, I do.” Tig winked. “But only in the bedroom.” “Whats this?” Bobby asked, though if he was honest he wasnt sure he wanted to know. “Holly wants to throw a Halloween party” Juice explained, with a shake of his head. “I don’t want to, I am.” She emphasised the last word. Bobby chuckled and shook his head. “Not gonna happen sweetheart. There’s only two things Halloween is good for. Cavities and diabetes.” “Well heaven forbid a SAMCRO party has a fucking theme for once.” “They do have a theme,” Tig said, a cheeky smile on his face. “Pussy and booze.” The boys all laughed while Holly grimaced and buried her face in her hands.
It was almost ten months ago that Holly became the newest addition the the SAMCRO family. She was Donna Winston’s cousin and after Donnas death she had taken it upon herself to help Opie with the kids and had moved in with him shortly after. Every morning she woke the kids, despite their protests, made breakfast and dropped them off for school. Then, she would spend the day helping Gemma in the office, or cleaning up around the club house, or on the odd occasion helping the boys in the garage before rounding the kids up after school and taking them home. She was a breath of fresh air when the club needed it most, and although she may not realise it, she had that club wrapped around her little finger. For a lot of them she was the sister they never had. She could drink the guys under the table and in the morning she’d wake them up with a smile on her face and steaming mug of coffee.
Gemma, while hesitant at first, had soon grown to love Holly and had taken her under her wing. Even Clay had a soft spot for her, allowing her to get away with far more than any one else that hung around. In fact, the whole club adored her. So Juice wasn’t entirely surprised when he saw Holly’s plans for a Halloween Party were coming together. Of all the members of the Sons, she was closest to Juice, being of similar ages. They had hit it off instantly and neither of them could deny the initial attraction between the two, but after a drunken make out session that was nothing but awkward, they had both agreed there was nothing romantic between them. Only friendship. He was working in the garage when he saw her car pull up and he watched, wiping his greased hands on a rag as she got out and struggling to lift a box out of the trunk of her car. “You need a hand?” Juice called, as he jogged across the lot. “Thanks!” Holly smiled and passed the box to Juice who lifted it easily from her grasp. “What’s all this?” He asked as she turned back to the car and grabbed two large bags out before slamming it shut. “Decorations.” Together they began the walk across the lot, and Juice balanced the box against his body as he opened the door with one hand, holding it open for Holly. She smiled in thanks and entered the clubhouse. “Clays okay with all of this?” “Uh-huh!” Holly nodded and dumped the bags on the nearest table. “He said the prospects will help me set up.” Juice shook his head in disbelief while Holly flashed him a smug smile and a wink. “Where are the prospects anyway? Jax wanted me to go through some stuff with them.” “They went to pick up the fog machine and some more decorations.” Halloween was in five days and Holly had prepared a strict schedule in order to get everything ready for the party. She was a stickler for details and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect, since it was the first holiday event that she had been allowed to host at the clubhouse. The door burst open and in came the booming voices of Opie, Jax, Chibs, and Tig. Juice went to talk to them and Holly turned away, immediately getting back into business mode and sorting through the bags. She didn’t notice the guys surrounding her as she pulled faux cobwebs out of the bags, her mind solely focused on the decorations. “This all for the party?” Tig asked, lifting a skeleton out the box. Holly grabbed the decoration and slapped his hand away. “Yes, don’t touch.” Tig raised his hands in defence and pretended to back away. “You guys got your costumes ready?” The boys all nodded and Holly couldn’t help but grin. Despite their initial resistance to the party, everyone had come round to the idea. Maybe it was because they all loved Holly, and no one wanted to disappoint her, especially after seeing all the effort she was putting into this. Or maybe it was because secretly they all loved the idea of dressing up. But, most likely it was because she had threatened them for the past weeks that if they didn’t come in costume, she would cut all their dicks off. “So is your boyfriend coming?” Tig asked as he sunk down into a chair and swung his legs up, using a spare chair as a footrest. The guys chuckled while Holly rolled her eyes, the mere thought of Happy Lowman bringing a blush to her cheeks. “He’s not my boyfriend. I don’t even like him anymore.” She was lying through her teeth and they all knew it. “Yeah,” Opie snorted. “And my wife’s not a pornstar.”
The boys all laughed while Holly groaned. After yet another drunken night Holly had regretfully confessed to Opie, telling him about her feelings for his Brother and Opie ‘Big-Mouth’ Winston had taken it upon himself to tell almost everyone. Ever since, the guys had teased her relentlessly. She was sick of their teasing and she had decided to try a new tactic, in which she, albeit rather badly, pretended she had moved on. No one needed to know that it was a lie or that when she saw him her legs turned to jelly or that the sound of his voice made her swoon and dream up names for their future children. “Hate to break it to ya Hol, but I don’t think Hap will come.” Jax said, as he too sunk into a chair. Holly rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders as she leant against the table. Before she could give herself a mental pat on the back for her award worthy acting, she knocked a jar of candy corn off the table, causing the sweets to scatter across the carpet. With a mutter of ‘Shit’ she knelt, quickly working to clean up the mess.
“Yeah, I mean, you really think the Killer is gonna dress up?” Opie laughed. “I’m gonna ‘ave to agree with the boys, luv. I don’ think Happy’s a holiday kinda guy.” Chibs said. “Well it doesn’t matter anyway.” Holly said as she stood and snatched some decorations from Jax’s grasp. “Like I said, I don’t like him anymore.”
Holly hadn’t been lying when she said she loved the holidays and of them all, Halloween was by far her favourite. The transformation of the clubhouse was impressive. The entire ceiling was covered in fake cobwebs, littered with spiders, bats and hanging lanterns. Skeletons and ghosts, witches and monsters were hanging all throughout the room with bales of hay along the wall for extra seating. There was a ‘graveyard’ in the corner, filled with headstones and Holly had set the fog machine behind those, so a low thick fog blanketed the floor. Juice had even helped her set up a lighting system for maximum effect. The pool table was covered with a black table cloth and was scattered with skulls, candles and Halloween themed snacks that Holly had spent hours making. She had stayed late last night setting up the decorations and had spent most of the day doing finishing touches before getting ready. Holly had debated with herself over her costume for a while but, after finding an old wedding dress at a thrift store she had finally decided. She had torn the front of it before adding fake blood and finishing the look with a bit of gory makeup. The clubhouse was slowly filling with guests, mostly croweaters and friends of the club. A couple of the Nomads had turned up, donned in various outfits ranging from clowns to Rambo and even Kozik had come. He had chosen a Van Halen style costume, complete with a mullet, a red headband, and leopard print pants. So far from SAMCRO only Opie and Lyla were there, dressed as Jane and Tarzan. Holly had practically dragged them out the door in order to get to the party early and make sure everything was organised. As Holly looked around the room she noticed at least four different girls dressed as Harley Quinn and in the back of the room was someone wearing a full Foghorn Leghorn costume, from the Looney Tunes. She was about to cross the room to greet the mysterious Rooster, and figure out who exactly it was, when she heard cheers erupt. Tig had arrived, clad in a red Lycra suit that cut off at the thighs and biceps. A red forked tail was floating around behind him and amongst his dark curls sat a pair of red horns. His arm was wrapped around Venus, who looked stunning in a white dress with large feathered wings behind her and a gold halo above her head. Holly went to join Opie and Lyla who had headed to greet Tig and Venus. But when Tig turned to face them all front on they immediately shielded their eyes. In what only seemed to be typical Tig Trager fashion, his costume was not only extremely tight and cut in a ‘V’ shape, revealing a little more of his chest than Holly had ever wanted to see, but it also hugged his genitals snugly, showing anyone who dared to look the exact form of his trouser snake. “I shouldn’t have to see that.” Opie groaned. “What?” Tig said, defensively throwing his hands out. “They didn’t have my size.” Tig and Venus headed to the bar, leaving Opie, Lyla and Holly slightly scarred for life. Juice was next to arrive. He marched through the doors, the black cape of his Darth Vadar costume billowing out behind him. He had a light saber, of course, and he swung it through the air in front of him before stopping before them. “Holy shit, Holly, this place looks incredible! And you! You look great!” Juice gushed. Holly smiled proudly and gave him a twirl. “Cmon, lets get some punch!”
Much to her surprise everyone had put in real effort with their costumes. Gemma and Clay had come dressed as 1920s mobsters, which suited teh matriarch perfectly, complete with fedoras and a feather boa. Jax was swanning around the room in a James Bond outfit while Tara trailed after him, dressed as Sandy from Grease, wearing a pretty dress and a ‘Pink Ladies’ jacket. Chibs had dressed as a pirate which he suited far too well, and was leant against the bar with a half empty bottle of rum, mumbling something about ‘Booty’ in Chibberish. Bobby had, of course, come as Elvis and was seranading a dozen slutty nurses and schoolgirls and even a few croweaters with cat ears as well. Even the prospects had made an effort; Phil made a very convincing Shrek (he was yelling “Get outta my swamp!” At anyone that got too close) but Ratboy didn’t seemed to be dressed up at all, although his hair did look a bit curlier than usual. Holly frowned, seeing Rat in his dark jeans and a kutte and she strode over, her hands on her hips. “George, I’m disappointed.” Holly scolded, shaking her head. Rat was taking a sip of his beer and he paused mid air to look questioningly at Holly. “I told you what would happen if you didn’t dress up.” Holly mimicked scissors with one hand while the other pointed to his nether regions. “I did dress up!” Rat exclaimed and placed his beer in the table before raising his arms to show leather wrist bands and he pointed to his curlier-than-usual hair. Up close Holly could see he had coated it in hair gel giving an exaggerated greasy look. “I’m Tig.” Holly snorted and Rat leaned in close and put on his best ‘Tig’ voice. “I like the tombstone decorations, and all these people dressed as corpses. Really gets my dick hard.” The two erupted into laughter and while they were laughing the ‘Mysterious Rooster’ stopped in front of the table and watched them. The laughter died off and Holly tilted her head to the side as the person in the Foghorn Leghorn costume watched them. Holly glanced at Rat who looked equally confused by the newcomer and just as abruptly as they had come, they walked away. “Who is that?” Holly asked. Rat shrugged. “No one knows. The guys are taking bets. I reckon it’s Unser, undercover.” Holly laughed at the idea but shook her head. “No way! It’s probably Ima. At least if no one knows it’s her, no one can break her nose.” “Fair point.” Rat agreed. The pair chatted for a little while longer before Holly headed back to the bar. She slid onto an empty stool and Chucky immediately passed her a glass of Whiskey. He had come as a mime, which made it difficult for people to order drinks because he refused to speak, and kept pretending he was trapped in a box. Holly sat at the bar for a little while and was nursing a near empty glass of whiskey. She swirled it in her hand, watching the cubes of ice clink together when Juice slid onto the stool next to her. “You okay?” She smiled up at his warm brown eyes and nodded. “This party’s amazing, Hol. Everyone’s having a blast. You’ve done a great job.” Juice nudged her and Holly nudged him back with a wide grin on her face. “Thanks Juicy.” The door to the clubhouse opened and in walked Wendy, dressed as Sandy from Grease, only in the final scenes. She wore her hair curled perfectly and she even had a ‘T-Birds’ leather jacket draped over her shoulder. “Oh no.” Holly whispered and nudged Juice again. They both glanced between Wendy and Tara and they watched as Tara spotted Wendy and her face fell before her lips turned into a snarl. “Well this is awkward.” Juice whispered. They both laughed and Wendy shrugged off Tara’s dirty looks and went to join Tig and Venus dancing. Tara was already arguing with Jax and Juice and Holly couldn’t help but find amusement in the situation. The two fell silent as they both took sips from their drinks. “He didn’t come, huh?” Juice asked quietly. Holly shook her head and sighed. “I just really thought he would, ya know? God even fucking Piney made an effort.” They both glanced across the room to see Piney (dressed as a Veteran) staring alarmingly and shaking his head at Tig who was dancing a little too provocatively, considering his attire. Holly and Juice sniggered and turned back to their drinks. “The nights not over yet. He might turn up.” Holly nodded, although she wasn’t hopeful. But she knew there was no point wallowing about it and so she lifted her glass to her lips, finishing her drink before slamming the glass back down on the bar and sliding off her stool. “Cmon then Juicy. Let’s dance!”
After dancing with almost everyone Holly headed outside to get some fresh air. She hopped up on the picnic table and glanced up at the night sky. A full moon shone down, bringing a smile to her face and she pulled out her pack of cigarettes. She pulled one out of the pack and pressed it between her lips as she rummaged through her pockets for a lighter. “Damn.” No luck. She was about to jump off the table and head back inside when the door opened and the person in the Foghorn Leghorn costume came out. “Oh, hello!” She greeted cheerily. They raised their arm/wing in response but said nothing. Holly glanced at the head of the costume nervously. It was pointless, but she really wanted to know who it was. Whoever it was had been here all night, never really talking to anyone and always lingering in the background. They didn’t speak and Holly couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous being alone with them. She cleared her throat. “You uh.. you gotta light?”
The Rooster shook its head and Holly sighed before she slid off the table. “Thanks anyway.” She was about to head back inside when the Rooster stepped in her path, blocking the entrance. They reached their hand out towards her as they took a step closer. “What are you doing?” Holly stepped back. The door opened and Holly was relieved to see Juice come out. He stopped when he saw Holly, clearly frightened, and the mysterious costume. “Everything okay here, Hol?” “Uh.. yeah I was just heading back in.” Juice held out his hand and Holly took hold of it. He wrapped an arm over her shoulder protectively and the Rooster watched as they walked into the clubhouse together. “Thank you!!” She whispered once inside. “Anytime. What is it with that guy?” Holly shrugged. “I dunno, but he gives me the creeps.”
The night had gone better than Holly could have ever expected and the early hours of the morning were rolling in. Most of the crowd had headed home and it was mainly SAMCRO left drinking, with a few stray hangarounds here and there. Holly was sat around a table with Juice, Opie, Lyla, Jax, Clay, Gemma, and Ratboy. Phil and Bobby had both passed out somewhere amongst the decorations and Tara had headed home after a rather entertaining confrontation with Wendy. The group was all chatting and laughing together when they heard a squeal. A croweater, dressed as a slutty pirate leapt off the sofa with a wide smirk on her face. “Yaaarrrr, bring me tha’ booty!” Chibs yelled and chased the girl into the hallway. The group laughed and shook their heads. “Seriously? Who is that?” Lyla asked. Everyone turned to look in the direction she was pointing. Foghorn Leghorn had walked back inside and went to stand near Kozik, who was chatting up a redhead in a nurses outfit. “No one knows.” Opie replied. “What if it’s like.. I dunno a Mayan or something?” Everyone turned to Ratboy and he shrugged. “I’m just saying! If I was gonna come and murder my enemies I’d probably wear a costume like that too, ya know.” Silence fell in the group and the guys all looked at each other before leaping out of their seats. They each pulled out a gun and stormed across the room. Gemma, Lyla and Holly followed but hung back, careful not to get too close. The guys surrounded the Rooster, all guns raised and aimed and when it realised what was going on he froze and lifted his hands/wings in surrender. “Who are you?!” Clay demanded. A muffled voice came from inside the costume but no one could quite make out the words. The Rooster threw his hands up in frustration and slowly lifted the head off the costume, to reveal none other than Happy fucking Lowman. “Guys, chill! It’s me!” “Happy?!” “You have got to be kidding me!” Clay said and rubbed his brows. Holly wouldn’t have been able to keep the grin off her face even if she had wanted to. He had been here, all along. “What the hell, man? What’s with the costume?” Jax asked. Happy shrugged. “I like the Loony Tunes.” Opie laughed and shook his head. “We didn’t think you’d come at all.” Happy frowned. “Why? I fucking love Halloween.” The guys all headed back to the table, chuckling to themselves, leaving Happy standing in front of Holly alone, though none of them forgot to wriggle their brows or wink in her direction as they passed. Happy tucked his ‘Head’ under his arm and stepped closer. “I’m sorry about earlier, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Holly blushed and shook her head. “No, no it’s fine! Don’t worry about it.” She smiled up at him. Happy smiled back at her, and she couldn’t help but notice the sparkle in his dark eyes, or the way he looked at her with a yearning, or the chemistry burning in the air as he stepped closer. “Thank you.. for coming.” She said quietly. “I wouldn’t have missed it.” Happy licked his lips and was about to say something when Tig barrelled into him. “Hap, my brother. You do realise you came as a Cock, right?”
Imagine meeting Kozik for the first time.
You worked as one of the mechanic’s at TM ( Teller - Morrow ) and you occasionally you helped Gemma with the paper work but you really enjoyed being under the hood of a vehicle. You have been working there for quite sometime now, you were very comfortable with the club and the whole lifestyle because honestly its all you’ve really ever known.
You grew up with Jax and Opie, practically a sister to the two of them, and you considered Tara to be one of your best friends. Gemma was like a mother you never had, you never knew your biological mother and from what your junkie dad always said about her your kind of glad you never did. Your dad wasn’t exactly father of the year either, he was a drunk, a junkie and he was incredibly abusive towards you and most of the time he wasn’t around but when he was it never ended well for you. One night while he decided to make an appearance he was drunk and high and took out his anger on you, but this time he held on to your neck a little too long. You blacked out, you happen to wake up on the floor and your dad was passed out on the couch. You managed to stumble your way to Gemma’s.
Gemma took you in no questions asked, and the club dealt with your father. You never seen him again and you never did ask, because deep down you knew exactly what happened and quite frankly you were glad he wasn’t around anymore to hurt you. From that day on you’ve been apart of the SAMCRO family. You are incredibly grateful for Gemma and the club, they saved you and gave you a safe place to live and a family that never let you down and that were always there for you no matter what.
Clay also took you as one of his own, considered you a daughter and he taught you how to work a wrench. He was the one that introduced you to the mechanically world. You loved working in the shop, loved fixing vehicles and bikes.
Over the years you were used to the guys hitting on you, but the one guy that you actually flirted back with was Kozik. He wasn’t the usual biker type that you were use too. He was very large, muscular and he was literally eye candy. He had this very amazing smile and blonde spiked hair. The moment he rolled up onto the lot, course you didn’t notice right away considering your head was the hood of a car. He on the other hand noticed you almost instantly.
Your beautiful ( Y/H/C ) hair hanging loosely in a messed up bun, your faded blue jeans that fitted you in all the right places, and a white oil and grease splattered tank top that you wore perfectly almost blew Kozik out of the water. He was smitten with you, and he walked over towards you, you could hear the footsteps of someone approaching you but you didn’t pay attention.
Kozik leaned against the car admiring the view of you, and just before he spoke he removed his sunglasses and put them in the front pocket of his kutte. He cleared his voice and said;
“Hey darling, how’s it going ?”
Right away you responded but didn’t look away from your work;
“Well just cleaning the oil and then this old girl ready to go’’
Kozik had a smirk on his face because you didn’t look up or even notice him yet. Just then you decided to lift your head to put down the hood and Kozik moved out of the way just so you can do that. You grabbed the rag from your back pocket to wipe off the grease and oil from your hands and you finally looked towards Kozik. You were shocked to see his gorgeous man standing in front of you, and here you were thinking this was some dirty old man that just couldn’t take a hint. You smiled at him and gave him a shy little giggle and said;
“Uh, hi .. i’m Y/N’’
His smile grew as he seen your smile, your Y/E/C eyes were bright and beautiful and said while he reached out his hand to you;
“ nice to meet you darling, I’m Kozik “
You fumbled with your rag to quickly clean the rest of the oil and grease that was still on your hand and grabbed to shake Kozik’s hand.
“Hey Kozik, nice to meet you”
He didn’t let go of your hand right away and when he did, he never lost eye contact with you. That made you blush a tad, which never happen to you before. Every guy that you’ve ever encountered always stared at your chest or just literally checked you out with very little discretion. You asked;
“So a son hey, why is this the first that I'm meeting you?”
Kozik adjusting his kutte and said;
“Uh, yeah. I’m from the SAMTAC charter, and I don’t really come this way”
You nodded and acknowledged him and said;
“Well I’m glad you’ve finally made it down to Charming”
He gave you a crooked smile and before he could respond Clay came out of the clubhouse and yelled over to Kozik;
“Hey, Kozik !”
You both looked over at Clay and Kozik nodded and just before he took off over towards the club he looked over at you and said;
“So will I see you later?”
You flashed him a smile and responded;
“Yeah, I’d like that”
You watched him walk over to Clay, they greeted each other with a hug and greeted the rest of the guys. You turned around and looked over the car once more, before Kozik walked into the club he took a quick glance back at you.
You finished up and walked into the office to find Gemma cramming through the Teller-Morrow paperwork. She peered up from what she was doing and she happily greeted you;
“Hey sweetheart, all done ?”
You sat down on the couch and answered;
“Hey Gem, yep she’s ready for pickup”
Gemma noticed that you seemed distracted and leaned back in her chair, she pulled out a cigarette and asked in her motherly-tone;
“Something the matter sweetheart?”
You didn’t answer because you were thinking about Kozik. Gemma waited for you to answer but you didn’t and so Gemma almost screamed at you;
“Y/N ?! Hello?!”
You almost jumped up off the couch and responded in a startled tone;
“Yeah? sorry I was just thinking”
Gemma chuckled and lit her smoke, she inhaled and said;
“So what has you so distracted?”
You hesitated because Gemma was a little overprotective of you especially when it came to men. You shrugged and tried to pass it off as nothing, you said;
“Oh it’s nothing, I’m just tired today.”
Gemma could see right through you, since you’ve known Gemma you could never lie to her and when you tried she always knew when you were lying. Gemma pursed her lips and said while giving you her ‘seriously’ look, and sat forward towards you.
“Y/N, I’ve known you for how long and you can’t lie to me baby”
You giggled and bit your bottom lip and said;
“True, don’t know how you do that. Um, so what’s the story with Kozik?”
Gemma got up from her chair and walked over to you and sat down beside you. She looked at you, kissed your forehead and said;
“Oh baby, where do I start?”
The two of you shared a smile and talked for a long time and shared a smoke even after awhile Gem pulled out a joint. You got a lot of info about Kozik, you found out that he’s very loyal to the club, he use to be a junkie but overall his past demons Kozik was a great and caring guy. After the two of you chatted Gemma asked you if you were going to pursue Kozik.
You paused for a few mintues then said;
“Even if I do anything with Kozik, he’s from a different charter Gem.”
Gemma nodded and said;
“I know baby, just protect yourself okay? Don't fall for a good dick, at least not till your certain that he feels the same way about you”
You smiled, gave Gemma a hug and said;
“Yes mother, I know. You taught me very well”
The two of you got up from the couch and just as you got the door you asked Gemma while gesturing towards the club;
“Wanna get a drink?”
Gemma agreed and the two of you walked over to the clubhouse side by side. You guys walked in and the guys greeted the two of you. The guys were playing pool, at the bar drinking or just hanging out on the couch just chatting amongst themselves. There were the usual crow-eaters that seem like they never left the club, Tara was there with Jax by the bar.
Gemma walked over to Clay, he greeted her by wrapping his arm around her waist and planted a kiss to her lips. She gave him a very loving look and said;
“Hey baby”
Clay smiled and responded;
“Hey my love.”
You smiled, admiring their love and affection that they have for each other. You sat between the two couples. Jax and Tara embraced you, Chucky was behind the bar and offered you a beer. You got your beer and took a sip, you turned around and scanned the room. Your eyes met Kozik’s who happen to look up at you while he was talking with Opie.
He smiled, you matched his and turned around shyly. Jax noticed you and Kozik’s little eye contact and Jax nudged your shoulder lightly and said;
“Uh, so did you meet Kozik yet?”
You took another swig of your beer and said with a smirk;
“Kinda”
Jax looked over at Kozik and you joined him and you batted your eyelashes towards Kozik and you said;
“So you going to introduce me to him?”
Jax looked over at you and before he could say anything, Tara lightly touched Jax’s chest and said;
“Hey babe, I gotta run, hospital just paged me. I’ll see you later?”
Jax looked a tad disappointed but he understood and said while cupper her face and leaning in for a passionate kiss;
“Alright babe, see you later”
After they shared a kiss, Tara looked quickly over at you and said;
“Hey Y/N have fun and call me later, I wanna know every detail”
You laughed and agreed to what Tara said, Jax loved the relationship that the two of you shared. His sister and his wife, the two of you knew each other since you were kids. After Tara left, Jax called over to Kozik.
Kozik walked over to where you and Jax were at the bar and Jax said to Kozik;
“So Koz, have you met Y/N”
Kozik looking down at you said with a smile;
“Yeah, earlier I did. How you doin Y/N”
You smiled and said;
“Hey handsome, wanna have a drink with me?”
Kozik nodded and sat beside you, Jax was smiling from ear to ear and told Chucky to pour everyone some shots. Everyone was drinking and having a good time just talking and drinking, hours went by and soon enough it was it was just the two of you talking.
Kozik leaned in and said;
“You wanna go get some fresh air?”
You smiled and agreed. The two of you walked out, the members that were still inside the clubhouse were still drinking and having a great time. It was kind of loud inside and the sound of the jukebox still danced through the wind out by the picnic tables but at least now the two of you could talk to each other alone.
You sat down and Kozik sat right beside you, he pulled out a pack of smokes and pulled one out and put it too his lips and offered one to you. You gave him a smirk and pulled the one from his lips and said;
“Thanks”
His smile grew even bigger and let our a little chuckle and grabbed himself another smoke. He lit his smoke and yours, he inhaled and exhaled the smoke and said;
“So .. a mechanic, how did that happen?”
You leaned back, eyebrows creased together a bit and said in a curious tone;
“Uhh, yeah why? never seen a chick work a wrench before or fix vehicles?”
You seemed a tad offended and you were and Kozik trying to explain his question said;
“No, no I didn’t mean it like that. I just meant how did you learn how to do all that?”
You laughed at his nervous-ness and replied calmly while tapping at your smoke;
“Easy Koz I was just playing, but Clay taught me how. Well all the guys actually did but yeah I guess they figured since I’m always here might as well put me to work”
The both of you shared a laugh and he added;
“Well you are the first mechanic that I find incredibly sexy”
You looked at Kozik and he looked at you, he gave you a little wink which made you blush and he wrapped his arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer. The two of you sat there for a few more hours just talking, it was a great night. About 5am you decided to call it a night, Kozik offered to drive you home. The two of you reached his bike and he lifted his leg up and over his Harley, he grabbed his spare helmet and passed it to you. You put it on and hopped on behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist.
He inhaled nervously to himself as he felt your grip tighten as he pulled out of the parking lot. As you guys pulled up to your house, Kozik killed the engine and you got off. Slowly taking off the helmet and passed it to Kozik. He took off his and got off the bike, you guys walked up to your driveway and to your front door. The two of you stood in front of the door like nervous teenagers and Kozik leaned in towards you, making you back up into the wall.
He placed his hands on each side of you, and he was inches from your face, he licked his lips and it was like electricity coursed through your entire body. He gave you that devious smile that made you weak in the knees. You bit your bottom lip and Kozik couldn’t hold back any longer and so he crushed his lips into yours. His tongue danced with yours, his hands caressed your lower back and eventually made it to your ass.
You moaned against his mouth, which made him growl with lust. You wanted him so bad and he wanted you, there was no denying that. You could feel his large member growing against hi jeans. You wanted to invite him in but you weren't that type of a girl. You managed to part lips and you said in such a lustful yet you could hear the regret in your tone;
“Umm, well I better go. .. will I see you tomorrow?”
Kozik was surprised, most chicks that's he’s been with usually take him to bed or are undressing him by now but not you. There’s something different, something intriguing about you that Kozik just seems so drawn too. Kozik said with a smile, still holding onto you;
“Of course you will, well goodnight beautiful”
You blushed and cheerfully;
“You mean, Good Morning”
You both looked around, it was starting to get light out, you both chuckled and he leaned down and placed such a gentle almost loving kiss to your soft lips. As your lips parted he said in a low voice;
“Your right, Good Morning baby and I’ll see you at the clubhouse later”
You nodded, grabbed your keys and opened your door. Kozik was sitting on his bike just watching you go inside safety. You waved at him, he smile and drove off as you closed and locked your door. After Kozik left you did not sleep, instead you showered and just laid in bed. Not long after you got up, made coffee and then there was a knock at your door.
Peering through the peephole you could see it was Gemma. You unlocked the door and opened it, Gemma said as she walked into the house;
“Good morning sweetheart”
You smiled and said;
“Good morning mom, coffees fresh”
She placed her handbag on the floor by the chair and grabbed herself some coffee and said;
“Oh okay thanks baby, so how was your night?”
You sat down, sipped your coffee and said;
“It was great ma, why you ask?”
Knowing exactly that she wanted to know about what happened with Kozik. Gemma sat down with her cup of coffee and said;
“No reason, just when I left you and Kozik seemed pretty cozy”
You smiled and nodded agreeing with her and you told her about your night. Soon you went and got ready and the two of you headed off to TM. It was about 10am, bikes were all lined up in their usual spot, some of the guys were in the garage fixing bikes or some were working on vehicles. Gemma parked her Cadillac and you jumped out, both you and Gemma walked over to the office. Sons greeted the two of you, you put your bag away and grabbed one of your favorite overalls, slipped them on and tied it around your waist.
Gemma said as you were putting your hair in a loose ponytail;
“I’m going to see if there’s any coffee”
You answered as you made your way to the garage;
“Alright, I’m going to get some work done”
Gemma went to the clubhouse, you found Dog and asked if there was any work to be done, he motioned to the Toyota that was parked not far from where you were standing. So you got to work on that, Tig was in the garage and he walked up to where you were working and said;
“How’s it going doll?”
You looked up and said;
“I don’t know, I just opened the hood Tiggy”
You both laughed and you asked;
“What you working on today?”
Tig gestured with his head towards his bike and said;
“Ah just changing the plugs and giving her some love”
You nodded and bent over and looked under the hood. Tig cleared his voice, you knew something was up because Tig only ever talked to you when he was in one of his frisky moods and usually he’d cut to the chase by now.
“So, you with Kozik now or what?”
You almost banged your head on the hood but you said;
“What? .. Where. .. where did you hear that?”
Tig now looking at you, felt like his piercing blue eyes were burning a hole right through you and he said;
“Well I was here last night, seen you two getting close”
You scoffed lightly and said while looking back at the truck and said;
“Well yes I hung out with him last night but nothing happened and if anything did happen Tiggy, honestly it’s not any of your business”
Tig nodded and understood that he had no right but he said before he moved over towards his bike;
“I know Y/N, but your still family and I’m still going to protect you”
You were confused, why would Tig act that way about Kozik. Gemma said he was a good guy, and honestly if he wasn't I really doubt she or anyone would let me be around him. This bothered you, you wanted to talk to Kozik but before you could go find him a call came in ‘ pickup halfway to Lodi’. So you and another mechanic went with the tow truck.
- Couple hours went by -
You finally made it back to Teller-Morrow and you were still boggled by what Tig said so you went into the clubhouse looking for Kozik. Everyone was in church, so you had to wait even longer. You decided to go back to the garage hoping Gemma was there but she went to see Abel. You were frustrated so you just decided to go home.
Few more hours went by, your cell phone rang and it took you awhile to answer it but eventually you did.
“Hello”
“Y/N? it’s Kozik”
Your heartbeat quickened and you said;
“Uh hey, Kozik .. whats up”
“Nothing much, wondering where you are ? Didn’t see you the garage”
“Oh yeah, I was there for awhile but then decided to come home”
There was silence for a few seconds and you said;
“Uhh, how’d you get my number?”
Kozik giggled nervously and said;
“Ohh um, Jax gave it to me. I hope that’s ok”
You grinned and you bit your lip lightly and said;
“Of course it’s ok, I’m glad you called”
Kozik asked;
“Can I see you?”
Here’s your chance to finally get some answers and you didn’t hesitate plus deep down you really wanted to see him;
“Yeah sure, come on over”
Kozik let out a relief sigh and said;
“Okay I’ll be over in 10″
“Okay”
You both hung up and you went to your bedroom and looked yourself over. You ran to your kitchen and living room and quickly tided up. You sat down on your couch and waited. You heard the roar of Kozik’s Harley come down your street and pulled up your driveway. The excitement that you were feeling was like a kid waiting for ice cream. Kozik knocked on your door, you jumped up and rushed over but before you opened the door, you inhaled and calmed yourself and waited a few seconds because you didn’t want to seem to eager.
You opened the door to a smiling Kozik and he said;
“Hey beautiful, you look great”
You gave him a smile and greeted him;
“Hey handsome, thank you. Wanna come in?”
Kozik nodded and agreed, he walked in slowly and closed the door behind him. As you walked to the kitchen you asked;
“Wanna beer?”
“Yeah, sure”
You grabbed two beers and passed one to Kozik and he responded.
“Thanks babe”
You sat down with Kozik, he took a drink and you asked after you took a drink;
“So how was your day?”
Kozik took a drink and said while trying to clear his throat;
“Not that great, if i’m being honest”
You looked puzzled and asked;
“Why what happened?”
Kozik sat up a little straighter and said;
“Well, reason why I came here was because I want to transfer to SAMCRO. SAMTAC is getting rather crowded, I wanted to jump to a smaller charter”
Your heart was racing as you heard him say he wanted to stay here and you said;
“D..Did you guys take a vote yet?”
“Yeah we did actually, this morning”
You didn’t know how to respond because you knew it didn’t pass that’s why his day was so crappy. You then said;
“So who voted no?”
Kozik looked pissed when he said;
“Tig”
You sat up and asked eagerly;
“Why? what’s his deal with you?
Kozik’s eyebrows creased in anger and said;
“Just bad blood between us, past bullshit that he should have forgotten by now”
You acknowledged him and said with a hesitant tone;
“So what you going to do? Are you going to go back to Tacoma?”
You really didn’t want to hear him say he was going back so you waited in silence and drank your beer. Kozik killed the rest of his beer and sat forward and said;
“Um well my plan was if I didn’t get voted in I’d go to another charter. ..”
The expression on your face was ‘ dissappointment’ but then Kozik finished saying;
“But then I didn’t think that I would meet someone like you in Charming”
Your eyes brightened up and you looked at Kozik, your cheeks were becoming hot and there was hope again and then you managed to say;
“So I take it I’m going to be seeing you more often?”
You leaned towards Kozik and he came closer to your face, gave you a crooked grin, licked his lips and said in an almost whisper;
“Yeah, I mean if that’s what you want”
You couldn't hold back any longer and you smashed your lips into his, giving him the most passionate kiss that you have ever given and when your lips parted you said;
“Yes, its most defiantly what I want”
Miss You More
Author’s Note: This is a Tig Trager imagine based on We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez as requested by the wonderful @fandomdollx as well as imagine #11 for MM5. This is also my first Tig Trager imagine (love me some Tiggy.) I was all in my feelings when I wrote this, and you know what that means, angst lies ahead, you’ve been warned.
This is my work–originally posted to my old blog @callmemrskozik which is no longer in use. Just wanted to put it out there so people don’t fill up my inbox accusing me of plagiarism.
Miss You More
Oh, we don’t talk anymore Like we used to do
He didn’t think he’d see her again, and if he did, surely he never imagined that it would be here, in the TM parking lot of all places. Their final moments happened in this place after all; and when it gets too quiet he can still hear her heartbroken voice in his head.
‘I’m tired of your shit Tig! I can’t do this anymore!’
He never blamed her for leaving. Things started spiraling so quickly out of his control that he sought comfort by any means, giving no thought of what it did to her. She looks good; he never doubted that she would, even if a small, petty part of him hoped she would have let herself go after their demise. The breeze flirts with her hair, fluttering auburn curls that he just knows smell of apple blossom, her favorite shampoo; a scent that to this day summons memories of the countless tumbles in the sheets they took together.
“Is that Gwen?” Jax’s voice comes from behind him and turning Tig nods his head slowly. “When did she get back into to town?”
“Fuck if I know,” Tig snarls turning away from the sight of her to stalk into the clubhouse. “I need a drink.”
::
He’s three shots deep when the door to the clubhouse swings open, the hairs on the back of his neck raising up, and he doesn’t have to turn to know she’s standing in the door, and tossing back another shot he snags the bottle as he turns.
He can tell by her red rimmed eyes she’s been crying, and while part of him calls to comfort, he knows it’s not his place, not anymore.
“Gwen,” he raises the bottle in his hand towards wishing he could understand why he feels so awkward.
“Tiggy,” Gwen’s voice lights something inside of him and because it startles him he puts the bottle to his lips.
“What are you doing here?” he asks as she takes a step towards effectively halting her movement.
“I thought it would be best for you to hear from me,” she says letting out a breath.
“Look sweetheart, I haven’t heard from you in years,” he says getting to his feet turning his back to her, “I don’t need to hear from you now.”
“Maggie’s dead Tig…”
::
“What the hell happened?” Tig asks sitting beside her at the bar where he’s switched to coffee and she’s nursing a glass of water.
“She was ninety-six Tiggy, old age happened,” Gwen says on a watery sigh as she reaches shaking hands for her glass but he takes it, stilling her. She’s as soft as he remembers, and he knows her fingers fit perfectly with his, but before he can link his fingers with hers he catches the flash of from the ring on her finger.
“That’s new,” he says dropping her hand quickly. To her credit a pained look flashes on her face as she starts to spin the pretty ring on her finger. “Who’s the guy?”
“No one you know,” she says shaking her head.
“That’s not what I asked Gwen,” he tries to clamp down on his anger.
“That’s not why I came here Tig…”
“Who is it?”
“Look I came to let you know that Maggie’s gone, she always loved you, even when we fell apart,” she says sliding off of the bar stool, “her service is this Saturday if you want to be there, it’ll be at the same place where Pop’s is.”
“Running again,” he sneers at her back, “it’s what your good at. I guess I’ll hear from you again when the next person dies…”
Her footsteps grow silent as she turns to look at him. Her eyes, an intriguing mix of green and brown he always found so intriguing, swim with pain and tears.
“You never called either,” she says and because she’s right all he can do is watch her walk away. Again.
-XX-
I just hope you’re lying next to somebody Who knows how to love you like me There must be a good reason that you’re gone Every now and then I think you might want me to Come show up at your door But I’m just too afraid that I’ll be wrong Don’t wanna know If you’re looking into her eyes If she’s holdin onto you so tight the way I did before I overdosed Should’ve known your love was a game Now I can’t get you out of my brain Oh, it’s such a shame That we don’t talk anymore (We don’t we don’t) We don’t talk anymore (We don’t we don’t) We don’t talk anymore Like we used to do We don’t laugh anymore (We don’t we don’t) What was all of it for? (We don’t we don’t) Oh, we don’t talk anymore Like we used to do Like we used to do Don’t wanna know Kinda dress you’re wearing tonight If he’s giving it to you just right The way I did before I overdosed Should’ve known your love was a game Now I can’t get you out of my brain Oh, it’s such a shame That we don’t talk anymore (We don’t we don’t) We don’t talk anymore (We don’t we don’t) We don’t talk anymore Like we used to do We don’t laugh anymore (We don’t we don’t) What was all of it for? (We don’t we don’t) Oh, we don’t talk anymore Like we used to do
She knew seeing him would be hard. Years have passed, but the pain of how things ended hadn’t lessened despite the passage of time. She just hadn’t anticipated the pull to still be there, the spark in him recognizing the spark in her, but while a spark can start a relationship, it can never sustain one.
She pulls the zipper of the simple black dress up her side, smoothing the material down, and in the movement her ring catches the light, and she remembers the look of hurt that flashed on his face when he saw it. She never wanted to hurt him.
Gemma filled her in on the things he’s been up to since she’s been gone, and she knows that while he hasn’t found someone to settle down with, as much as Alexander Trager could ever settle down, he has his regulars and she finds comfort in that, because at least that means he’s not alone.
“Gwen, it’s time,” a voice calls from behind her and turning away from the floor length mirror she takes the hand held out to her.
::
He studies her, his back braced against the tree. She’s beautiful in the plain black dress, but his attention is drawn more to the man beside her. He towers over and just doesn’t look anything like the type he ever imagined her with. He’s too put together from his shiny black dress shows and perfectly tailored suit to carefully styled hair, but even from this distance he can see that he cares.
His head tilts as he watches the man wrap an arm around Gwen when her shoulders started to shake, and when her legs buckle he holds her up.
He’s everything Tig wanted to be for her once upon a time. And everything he knew he could never be.
::
“Hey Mag’s,” Tig’s voice fills the air as she stares at his back. She should turn around and leave, but she can’t seem to make her legs move. Her eyes are trained to him, glued to him as he crouches down over the fresh mound of dirt. “I’m sorry I wasn’t there. You know how it is, time just gets away from you, but that’s a lie. I stopped coming around because it hurt. Losing Gwen hurt, and I know I can’t watch over her, I haven’t for a long time, and I’ll never be able to watch over her again, so I have to ask you to do it for me. Love you Mags.”
Tears start rolling down her face as he gets to his feet and turns. Her eyes meet his, and with every step he takes the breath in her chest hitches.
“He looks like a good guy,” Tig says and she fights to smile as she nods.
“He is,” Gwen says brushing at the tears.
“Good, that’s good,” he says closing the distance between them, and then he’s holding her, drawing her in, and she holds on, hands bunching in the back of his shirt. She doesn’t know how much time passes, but he presses a kiss to her head and lets her go. “I miss you.”
He brushes past her, and letting out a soft sob she tries to steady her emotions.
“I miss you more…”
session recap 4 - calling caligula
we did another d&d session yesterday and it was. a lot of fun. here’s a list of things that happened and things people said in a roughly chronological order. i’ve already done three of these, i’m sure you guys know the drill by now.
the session opens with reeliel and tarrik in the infirmary
“everything about that is just a paradox. the infirmary of the death arena”
[the game is interrupted by a phone call]
“tarrik, shut up, don’t make it worse!” “i’m already half dead, how much worse could it get?” “you could be fully dead”
this time we’re doing double battles
galle and grelynn are paired up against an ogre
“it’s been so long we’ve forgotten how to play d&d”
“so that’s 9 damage…. he hits you really hard”
“so you rolled a three” “[dejected] yeah” “you just fall over”
“we bonded! by… tripping over ourselves for a turn!”
“there are two more fights, and then hopefully, no more fights!”
galle trips a dude just for fun
“i just wanna be a dick sometimes, ‘kay?”
pluto is teamed up with ilah (an npc based on an oc)
“kill her” “noOO!”
“i already killed her once i can’t kill her again. bany might actually murder me” “i would”
“has his eye been healed?” “no, he’s still blind” “he’s not all of a sudden going to become not blind”
“you stabbed him like FOUR TIMES in the eye”
“it’s just a little bit scratched” “a LITTLE BIT?”
“he needs a bit of tlc, okay?” “he needs a new fucking eye!”
“thoth didn’t look very friendly at first, but look at him now. blind and my best friend”
“is the monster just watching this?” “yeah, it’s last in initiative order and talking is a free action”
[talking about the squirrel that my family has been feeding] bany: we have a possum that lives in the bushes outside
ilah and pluto are the worst duo in that they will maim creatures and then befriend them
“maybe pluto just makes everyone blind by default?” “maybe that’s why pluto’s so terrible as a rogue but manages to steal from everyone anyway”
bany sighs a lot during this scene it’s great
i admit to my shameless rigging of the game when my players are doing terribly
pluto: decides to befriend the monster / the party: do you want to use up your second friend slot??
“what is the creature doing right now?” “it’s probably bleeding” “but how’s it feeling?” “it’s feeling pretty bad”
ilah: befriends the creature / matt: we’re playing d&d with the fucking rspca
“this is the death arena, not the befriend the creatures that attack you arena” “it’s actually a petting zoo”
“what kind of monster are they fighting?” “it’s called an ettercap. it looks like…… i don’t even know how to describe it”
“that’s the plot of lord of the flies, pluto befriends an ettercap”
tarrik and reeliel, our resident failures, are paired up against a gargoyle
my rolls are always really terrible. it’s the d&d gods punishing me for not using physical dice.
reeliel runs up to tarrik, jumps up on and off his shoulders, and up into the air
she unfortunately misses her attack
reeliel casts thunderwave. tarrik is understandably pissed.
“hey matt, what’s your constitution like?” “not negative” “go ahead and roll then!”
there are a lot of pauses where i stop to do maths. i’m the epitome of that ‘when you’re gay and can’t calculate the tip’ video.
“you two actually did something competent for once!” “the two weakest members of the team!"
“as it turns out, everyone else was just holding us two back. that’s what it is” “are you sure?”
mikael poofs around this time. rip them.
the immediate response to being taken outside the arena is of course “making our way downtown"
bany: this sounds like a public execution / me: carries on explaining the scene
“notice how they ignored the question"
i discovered that i can’t talk and type at the same time
neriona: is there / tarrik: is flipping her off with both hands
“matt matt matt matt matt matthew. shut up”
there is an elf reclining on a chaise lounge eating grapes. tarrik drinks his wine.
“the bulla felix, come in, come in!” “oh fuck”
ilah and galle: sit down normally
tarrik: lies down and hogs an entire seat
reeliel: sits like L
cai: poofs / me: should we just carry on? / matt: i’m liking this shouting idea / bany: oh god
[the game is interrupted by a toddler]
“jax, don’t do that with your eye!”
“greetings, i am the emperor of this fine city, petpetor!” “what? your name is what?” “petpetor!” “petpetu?” “petpetor!”
[toddler noises] “cai, are you murdering a child?” “it sounds more like the child is murdering cai”
matt made a child cry in church one time just by looking at them
“go find auntie billie! take this!” “it’s not safe to go alone, take this!”
[the game is once again interrupted by a toddler]
“if that was me there would be children flying from the rooftop” “and that’s why it isn’t you”
are you stronger than a 2 year old? for cai, the answer is no!
“cai, are you made of noodles or something?” “yes”
god i’m just now listening to this character voice and it’s awful
petpetor asks them to investigate an assassination plot and find his would-be assassin
tarrik tries to wind him up and reeliel throws something at him from across the room
“i am prepared to stab this guy in the back just so you know”
“what’s in it for us?” “freedom from the death arena” “yeah okay we’ll do it”
“i want immunity for the rest of my squad" “if you stop robbing my friends, than yes” “can we rob your enemies?"
“he takes like the bowl of grapes off the table and shoves them in his mouth”
galle: idk who you people are but i’m good with not being trapped in a death arena
tarrik’s metric for liking people: the quality of their wine
the party has a private discussion and decides to investigate and then stab petpetor in the back
“regardless of whether or not neriona is actually the one behind this assassination, i say we frame her"
“do we have anyone who’s alignment is good on this team?"
“i think we will give tarrik free reign to rob the palace as long as we can also rob the palace”
“so far his suspect list is like half of the entire city”
everyone complimenting the write ups and i’m sorry this one is mostly quotes. not much action happened but we did have a lot of fun conversations.
“after the endgame, after we kill not caligula, what’s going to happen?” “don’t you worry about that”
“am i on reasonable terms with the party now?” “you’re getting there with me” “welllll…." “tarrik shut up, we don’t need anymore foes”
“i have 300 buried and 50 in a pair of dark pants on the edge of a road”
“bye!” “i’m glad we’re sorta friends now!” “well, kinda, not really"
#bee.txt#quadrant campaign#i love my d&d group a lot#also i've mentioned it before but i really love reeliel and tarrik's friendship#it'd be a shame if something were to... happen.......#and galle's on somewhat-decent terms w the party now !!#i think that relationship development next session will be a lot of fun
Core
Shatter went through, they were in like a mountainous area.
ZM
"i just realized i don't know who we're going to meet." chara looks up at shatter questioning. she took a step without looking and slipped on some mud and slid down a small hill. she grabs some mud and throws it against a tree to make herself feel better before getting up.
Tonic's not in the backpack and loves the sights she sees. "this place is gorgeous" she hums smiling and puts her her hands on her cheeks feeling the liquid heat up.
Core
She saw one of the 'mountains' move, extending out into a wing, shaking the dirt off of it. The other mountains do the same, until one could see a giant star with 6 large wings, a tail, two jaws, and 4 arms.
ZM
"mmm gross" chara says looking at the amalgamation
"hey up there! can you hear me?"
Core
They turned, each of the wings had an eye on them. 'Yes I can', she said via telepathy
ZM
"pff, cool" she wipes off the mud. "is it loud in there? having 7 souls?" tonic sits on some grass and waves to the star.
Core
'No, most are dormant' The star yawned, moving in a circle before laying down.
ZM
"well aren't you just a bundle of energy." she chuckles. "okay well, this is shatter i don't know if you know her but i have a few thing's that i'd like to know if you could answer."
Core
'I'm all ears' The star said, it would make sense that since she was so big, it would take a lot of energy to move.
ZM
"cool~ first is how stars are made. as in do stars have baby stars? second when a soul shatters are they gone or not cause i keep seeing a ghost and i don’t know if i'm crazy or not. and third is how difficult is it for a human to be the one in control when there is a monster and human fusion.
ZM
tonic doesn't know about that list, seems unnecessary and has bad implications. they wonder if they're going to hurt others and if they'll have to fight chara.
Core
'Stars can have offspring, but most don't live to adulthood. for the second question, some can possess objects for a short period of time, and very difficult, mainly because Stars are more likely to be used to long fights and struggles, so they can outlast opponents.' Shatter sat by and laid down
ZM
"i see, not exactly what i wanted to hear."
Core
'well, any other questions?'
ZM
chara folds her arms and thinks 'hey i've got frisks soul, which is supper strong not to mention it's trait is determination. it's very possible that she could take control of a star due to that. '
"sure, how bout some outlaw stars. you got any cool news on them?"
Core
'Do you mean outcodes? or Genocide stars?' Omega asked.
ZM
"genocide"
Core
'Well, Night is still working with her little proxies, I recommend you don't tell shatter about that.'
ZM
"why's that?" chara asks
Core
"Because it's technically Nightmare's fault Shatter lost her sibling. Stars are very close to any siblings they may have, by nature of course."
ZM
"yeah? who was this sister of her's"
ZM
"i as well have no idea who this nightmare gal is so i'm just rolling with it. i know practically nothing and i wanna fix it " she nods curtly
Core
"Well, I will answer any questions you have, and Shatter had a brother, not a sister."
ZM
"ah okie, who was he?"
Core
'Well, his name was Jax, he was younger than Shatter, but not by much, he could turn himself invisible and make electric shocks, as for Shatter, well before Jax got well, I guess 'fused' with her, she was blind.'
ZM
"huh. so you're telling me shatter found her dead brother and g put a piece of him in her? that's kinda messed up."
ZM
"so what did this nightmare do to kill her brother?
Core
'well, her soulstone was so damaged, it was unstable, so gaster used some shards he had found. As for Nightmare, she is....corrupted, and knows how to corrupt others, she has a group of her 'proxies', and well, during a fight between Nightmare and her pawns and a different group of Stars, Jax and Shatter got caught in-between.'
ZM
she folds her arms "so gaster was there for the fight? interesting." tonic suddenly get's up and starts gathering purple flowers and draining the color from them, the green and red in her were very pale at this point "i read a file that said stars almost never grow to maturity is that because they fight that much?"
Core
'Yeah, that and when we are very young, we can get sick very quickly, some genocide stars are cannibals, like Nightmare and Vantablack, they won't hesitate to kill and devour a star kit.'
ZM
"im sure that's lovely to watch." she cringes. "you guys call some of them 'genocide stars. are you born with that title? and if not how did they get the title."
Core
'Well, they get the nickname because they won't normally leave any survivors, that and they tend to be more aggressive."
ZM
"you born that way?"
Core
"normally yes."
ZM
"you stars are strange. hold on i'll be back" she trots back up the hill and stands above shatter. "shatter why are you helping me?"
Core
"you know....I'm actually not sure." she smiled.
ZM
chara giggles before becoming more serious. "i appreciate it, and i appreciate your company. buuut...." she trails off looking to tonic for a second before deciding she doesn't want to think about the skeleton. "okay here's the thing. that star said you wouldn't want to go find nightmare and explained to me why. you might i dunno, hate me for saying this but I'm going to gather shards, (she's not being truthful here, she actually wants to find a nest with a lot of stars and take her pick from the children and train with it until she is confident she would control it if they combined) as well and mess with them. i really need this. sooo like if you don't want to help me anymore or if you want to fight me i totally understand. the star also said certain stars are born genocidal, and that doesn't seem like that's you." she fidgets.
Core
Shatter blinked bit, before sighing. "You're gonna get yourself killed, and you're right, I don't want to be part of that." Shatter said, getting up.
ZM
Chara quietly mumbled urgently and in an upset tone something like 'i shouldn't have told you most of that.' She looks up at shatter "you're right, you're so right. I'm going to die hundreds of times over and eventually be snuffed out for good. Stars are practically God's and I'm no such thing. I just have this itch that won't stop whenever I find a way to ...like.. improve. I guess
Core
"Not all of us are that powerful, I'm just special, and it seems you just have bad luck." Shatter said
ZM
She makes a quiet whimpering sound feeling at a loss of what to say. "I suppose I do." She grumbles. "There's no way of changing your mind on this right?" "They are dead after all right? It can't be that bad...? But what do I know about soulstones." She shrugs
Core
Shatter sighed, "Look, the most 'help' you are going to get from me with your plan, is that I will make a portal to Nightmare's realm, besides that, I won't help." Shatter said.
ZM
"hey that's more than i was expecting. I'll take it."
Core
Shatter opened a portal, "Good luck, I guess."
ZM
she takes a step to the portal before hesitating and looking up at shatter. "... can i have a hug?"
Core
"Sure." Shatter said, hugging Chara
ZM
chara's a little confused by shatter still, has a hard time reading her. "thanks," after they hug chara waves and hops through the portal. "see ya around," she turns after a salute and examines the area a castle to her right.
ZM
tonic heard the portal open and went to see what was going on, when she got there chara was gone. "what happened?" she questions
Core
"Chara won't be coming back..." Shatter said.
The Summer in Georgia
Chapter 20. Tell Me All Your Secrets and I’ll Tell You Most of Mine, Part 2
Isabella asked some more questions about his mom. He opened up a little more than before. He said, she was a good woman. She was a good cook and could turn any varmint that he or Merle killed into a nice meal. He would sit by her when she was doing cross stitching and she’d tell him stories about her great granddad who fought in the civil war. He then admitted to Isabella that his dad was abusive. He told her that he’d beat his mom when he came home from the bar. Isabella asked if his dad ever hit him and he told her ‘yes’ he explained that his dad would come home and start knocking him around pretty good and when his mom tried to protect him, he’d beat her unconscious and then he come after him again. Daryl told her that his mom went to church and always prayed and read the bible. His mother always prayed over him when he went to bed. She would read him stories and she always told him that God loved him and would always take care of him. After a while, her beatings got so bad that she couldn’t hide the bruises anymore, so she quit going, but she still prayed. Daryl told Isabella that after his mom died, his beatings got worse, he wondered why God wasn’t watching over him, like his mother promised him.
“That’s when I quit believin’ in God. At first I thought I did somethin’ wrong and God was mad at me, so I tried to be good, but I still kept gettin’ beat, so I came to the conclusion that either my mom lied to me or there was no God at all and my mom waisted all that time believin’ in somethin’ that wasn’t real. I don’t think my mom lied to me, I think she was fooled like me.” Daryl told her sadly.
This broke Isabella heart. Daryl was so sweet, she knew he was a tough guy, she knew about his fighting and drinking, about all the women, but she also knew that he’d been nothing but kind to her. The one time he did get angry with her was because he was concerned about her drowning. She imagined him as a little boy, so close with his mom and the two of them being abused, his mom trying to protect him from his dad’s rage. This hurt her, she almost wanted to cry. Instead she turned into him and pulled him close. He squeezed her tight and rubbed his cheek and chin in her hair.
“I understand why you wouldn’t believe in God, I get it. But have you ever thought of it this way. Look at everything you’ve been through in your life. The things you survived, the things you’ve turned around. You’re alive, your dad didn’t end you and you’re a stronger man because of it. You could have drunk yourself to death, but you didn’t, Rick came into your life and gave you a hand when you needed it most. You’re not your dad, you’re not your brother; you are a strong, healthy, blessed man. You made it, despite the all the obstacles that life put in your way. You’re one of the lucky ones, Daryl. It doesn’t always work out that way for everyone. Maybe your mom knew what she was talking about, maybe God was watching over you all this time. Think about it, you could be dead.”
Daryl thought long and hard about this. It made sense and he appreciated the fact that she’d spelled everything out for him, but he still wasn’t sure and he told her that. She understood, but told him to never forget all good things that happened to him and the people in his life that gave him a hand, when no one else would. He was flooded with feelings he wasn’t really comfortable with. He felt vulnerable, he felt hopeful, happy, sad, nostalgic, confused, he felt love, for the first time ever he felt love and it scared him to death.
“I never told no one any of that shit before. Not even Rick. I mean he knows about my dad and everything, but we never talked details, ya’ know.” Daryl told Isabella.
“I feel honored that you would trust me enough to share that with me. You can tell me anything, Daryl. It’ll always stay right here between you and me. I’ve told you secrets about myself that I’ve never shared with anyone, too. I trust you, you make me feel safe. I rarely feel safe around anyone, but you and Rick have changed that. You guys have changed my whole world. I love being at Rick’s and I love being with you, you make me happy.” Isabella said.
Daryl squeezed her and she lifted one of his hand up and kissed it. Daryl asked her if she cared if he smoked a cigarette, she said, ‘no’ and moved out of the way. He told her not to go far and made her laugh. He handed her another beer and lit up a smoke. Isabella was wearing a tank top and there was a cool breeze blowing, so he jumped down and got her a long sleeve denim shirt out of the front of the truck. She gladly put it on. It smelled like him.
“Tell me about your vest. Does it have a story?” She asked him.
“I dunno, I guess, kinda’. Me and this guy I used to be best friends with a long time ago got ‘em. He had one with different kinds a wings on it. We bought these old junk bikes and fixed ‘em up, we were ridin’ all the time together, goin’ places and doin’ shit. Ya’ know, causin’ trouble and doin’ things that weren’t so legal. One day we was ridin’ and came to this biker bar. We was just 16, but we went in anyway. They took a shine to us. These were some badass dudes too. They let us drink with ‘em and play pool and shit. The guy that owned the joint had a tattoo shop right next door, I mean it was like the same building, just another part. Anyway, me and my friend wanted to get tattoos, so the guy inked us up. It’s when I got this demon right here on the inside of my arm.” He turned his arm so Isabella could see it. “My friend got a demon too, it just looked different and it was his other arm. Each one of ‘em has two little skulls inside the demon’s mouth. See, ya’ can see it right here.” Daryl lit his lighter and held it up to his arm so she could see it. She nodded and smiled. “Anyway, we each got ‘em, two skulls. It was supposed to be the two of us, bein’ best buddies until we died. Ya’ know, the skulls bein’ dead and all. The whole time the guy was doin’ our tats, we was tellin’ him all kinds of stories and shit about things we did. He was laughing his ass off. After he got done, he started tellin’ us about his best friend and how they used to ride together and just hang out all the time and shit, they were real tight. They were buddies since grade school, like me and my friend. Only his friend got killed tryin’ to break up a bar fight in Atlanta. He got stabbed in the throat. This guy, his friend, he just had a baby boy two days before that and then he got killed.” Daryl shook his head in disbelief. “The guy got real sad after he told us that, he said he could tell we were tight and we’d be together forever, tearin’ up the road with our bikes, breakin’ women’s hearts and livin’ life the way it should be lived. We thought that was so cool. Then he got up and went in the back, he came back out with these two vests. They belonged to his buddy and him, he said he quit wearin’ it after his friend died. Anyway, he gave us the vests. I mean, he wanted us to have ‘em. Can ya’ believe that shit? We were floored. We told him we couldn’t take him, cuz of him bein’ so tight with his friend and all, but he made us. So, we both wore those vests from then on. That guy died like the next year. We went back to see him, but he was already gone.”
Isabella took the whole story in. She was totally moved by it and she told Daryl so. Then she asked the obvious.
“What happened to your friend? Aren’t you friends anymore?”
“I was hopin’ you wouldn’t ask that. No, we ain’t really friends no more. I still see him around town and shit, but that’s it.” Daryl answered.
“Why? What happened? It sounds like you guys were really tight. Why aren’t you friends?”
“We just ain’t, that’s all.” Daryl said, but Isabella knew there was more to the story.
“What’s his name?” Isabella asked.
“Jax. I don’t wanna’ talk about it no more. We ain’t friends, so none of this shit matters.” Daryl said firmly. So, Isabella let it go. “Ain’t never told no one that story neither.” He added.
“It was a really great story. Really great, I’m sorry it didn’t have a better ending.” She said, trying to sound comforting.
“Ain’t nothin’. Guess we wasn’t as tight as we thought we were, people change, people move on. Ain’t nothin’.” Daryl looked down and put his cigarette out on the tailgate. “Yer turn.” He said.
“For what?” She asked.
“First of all, c’mere.” He said reaching out for her. She smiled and scooted back between his legs, this time she sat kind of sideways, draping her legs over one of his leg. She nestled into his chest and grabbed hold of his hand. “That’s better. Yer turn ta’ tell me somethin’. Tell me about yer parents.”
FFT: crow flies; juice ortiz
Notes:
Obviously, I have... a bit of a universe creating problem. And I’m indecisive af. So this is a part of the universe I’ve constructed for Juice Ortiz and my oc, Hazel Teller (Morrow). Maaaybe one day, I’ll write the actual fic, but for now, here’s the first official part of their story ( minus any flashbacks or anything I choose to write in the future )
Summary:
It’s been a while since they’ve seen each other and when they finally see each other again, things have... changed greatly for Hazel.
Pairing:
Juice Ortiz x OFC, Hazel
Warnings:
uhh.. probably mentions of smoking / drinking; alcohol tw
Her eyes darted around the MC and she took a deep breath, venturing further into the gathered crowd. Church had just ended and the guys were making their way out, one by one by one. Hazel had just gotten close to the bar when she collided straight into the back of the man in front of her. Almost the instant she realized who he was, she tensed all over and prepared herself.
Juice Ortiz had been a real jerk to her before she left town and honestly, she was pretty sure he was going to continue to be a jerk towards her. She didn’t know why he was -or alternately, why that bothered her so much to begin with, but she did know that yes.. It did in fact bother her. It bothered her a lot.
It wasn’t like she wasn’t on edge enough already, after all. This was the first time she’d bothered coming back to Charming in almost six years. In that time, she’d grown and changed a lot. She’d gone out and tried to take on the world. And apparently, the world saw fit to kick her ass. She was already fully aware that her being home was going to look like she was returning to the fold with her tail between her legs. She was already in a low enough place. She absolutely did not need Juice Ortiz and his smart mouth and biting remarks or his everything else to further set her on edge.
“Hey, wanna watch where the fuck…” Juice trailed off upon turning around and realizing that it hadn’t been Tig or Half Sack being a dumb fuck and just shoving him for the hell of it. Hazel was standing there and all he could do was stare and blink. Shocked to see her back in Charming and twice as shocked to see her bothering with an MC sponsored event.
She’d looked down her nose on the MC and the concepts it stood for as a whole back then if memory served him right.
From beside Hazel, Gemma cleared her throat. “There you are, sweetie. I wondered if you’d left already.”
“I promised I’d stay, Mom.” Hazel bit her lip and blew at dirty blonde fringe as it fell right into her eye. Gemma looked back and forth between Juice and Hazel and cleared her throat. As per usual, the tension between the pair was thick enough to reach out and pluck from thin air. Give them five seconds and they’ll be arguing and storming away from each other, the idle thought crossed Gemma’s mind as she walked away from them to leave them to it.
“You were saying? By all means, Juan. Finish what you were about to say.” Hazel gave him that cute little amused smirk and shrug as she dug around in her pockets, brown eyes darting both ways.
“Guessin you still ain’t broke the news to Gemma and Clay their precious little princess who can never do any wrong smokes.”
“No, I wanna make sure Abel isn’t around. I don’t wanna smoke around him because this is a shit habit and he does not need to ever think it’s cool or pick it up. It’s bad enough I picked it up from Jax.”
“Right.” Juice chuckled. His eyes roamed over her slowly and he rubbed his chin. She wasn’t the same designer clothes wearing brat she’d been a few years ago. She’d grown her hair out a lot longer and gotten soft bangs. She’d apparently embraced her vision problems and wore a pair of thick-rimmed glasses now. She’d also apparently embraced her natural height and hair color because gone was the platinum blonde that never failed to look over the top fake and the high heels that made her look at least 5′8. There was this… Lingering hurt in those eyes of hers, almost as if the past few years may not have been quite so good to her. It worried him, but apparently not enough to let go of his lingering anger and hurt towards her. Before he could stop himself, he was doing it again, tearing into her.
He let out a low whistle quietly as his eyes settled on her eyes again. “New look, huh? Probably still the same brat from back in the day though.”
Hazel pouted a little, the sting of his words making their mark. She sighed and shrugged, twisting a strand of hair around her index finger. “Whatever you want to believe. I don’t care what anyone thinks anymore.”
“I mean, obviously.” Juice nodded to her and rubbed his chin. He probably should’ve just shut his mouth, faced the front, but their last fight had been one that definitely stuck with him and he had a lot of… Anger left over. Things he didn’t say then but were obviously going to flow out freely now, even if he really didn’t care one way or another anymore. “The old Hazel Teller wouldn’t have been caught dead out in public in sweats without all that crap on her face.”
“Juice..” Hazel started to say something but she closed her mouth. She deserved every single thing he was saying right now and then some. Maybe just letting him say it all now and get it over with was for the best.
Juice had been about to speak up again, tearing into something else, going off on an angry tangent like usual but the hurt look in her eyes threw him for a loop. As did the way her shoulders just kinda slumped and she shuffled her feet almost as if she clearly expected what he was saying and worst of all, felt like somehow, she deserved it. “What?” he asked the question quietly as Hazel lit up a cigarette.
“Nothing, I’m gonna just… I’ll go find Jax and Opie. At least they’ll actually wanna see me, maybe.”
Hazel hurried off before she could cry and she intended to stop and talk to her brother and Opie, but instead, she found herself out back of the MC, sitting atop the concrete picnic table, staring across the lot. She shouldn’t have come here. She should’ve just stayed gone.
So far, all she wanted to do was fix everything she’d destroyed and to rebuild her shattered family ties. So far, all that had been met with was apprehension and apparently, in Juice’s case, lingering anger and bad feelings. The thing that got to her most was that she didn’t know why it hurt so fucking much when Juice tore into her just then. She knew full well she deserved it, she’d treated the guy like complete shit and scum before. But then again, she’d treated pretty much all of them as if she was better somehow.
Just the thought of the way she used to be and the reminder made her laugh bitterly as she flicked the burning cigarette down onto the wet pavement, slid off the picnic table and started to make a break for her Challenger.
Maybe it had been too soon to try and show herself around everyone.
Four Years Later: Chapter Four
A/N: Hope everyone is having a good day :)
The music video finished up a few days later, and was set to release in the next month or so. Of course the band left to go do whatever they do. Now was time for me to focus on dancing in Radio City Music Hall for the “Rockettes”. Megan and I got chosen and our first show is in the coming days. I’ve been interviewed by so many people and places that I’ve lost count. They all wanna know about me, what I’ve achieved, when will it be my time to go. I’ve also been asking myself those same questions, and never knew that I live in the cycle of, dancing doing something else, then back to dance. But I’ll never know if those dots will be connected by anyone else but me.
-Night of the first show-
Tonight me and the girls are doing a show just for musicians and celebrities. Megan was thrilled cause apparently Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis was coming. She’s loved them together since “The 70′s show” days. “Rea!” Jax yelled coming into the dressing room “We have 10 minutes till we start”. With that I put the finishing touches on my hair and finished putting in Megan’s hair piece in her hair.
“Oh my god.” Megan ran over to me; I was slightly far away in the wings of the stage. “He’s here!” She whispered into my ear. “Who’s here?” I looked at her in confusion. “Zack!” It took everything not for her to scream. “Like music video Zack?” I questioned her. “Like the Zack you had a mini fling with!” She winked as I elbowed her. “It was just me being nice, ok.” I said with a laugh clearing it up. “Whatever it was, he’s here.” And with that I was being pushed to line up in the lines.
“Ok, I need Regan, Maddie, Megan and Jax to go out and meet our guest once you get cleaned up. So please hurry.” The director came into the room yelling. “I just got out of the shower. Can a girl just go sleep and eat?!” I yelled rubbing my eyes. “Here’s the blow dryer.” Jax handed it to me. “You need to look banging for dream boy out there.” She winked and walked away. I rolled my eyes and started blow drying my hair. Megan was on my right redoing her makeup, while Jax was on my left trying to make her boobs look bigger. Jax thinks the bigger the tits, the better. All of the girls that were selected to meet these high figures had dresses by the production manager and executives. My dress for tonight was a tight black Calvin Kline dress. It fit every curve of me, and the sleeves were off the shoulders. I feel like this dress should be on the red carpet, not on me!
I walked out into the reception hall to see so many celebrities. “You must be Regan Kennedy!” A voice behind me said. “That would be me.” I turned around smiling only to see Cassadee Pope. “Nice to meet you Ms. Pope.” I said shaking her hand. “Please call me Cass. I think you were in my boyfriend’s band’s music video.” She said trying to figure out where she saw me at. “Yes, I believe so. The “Nightmares” video if I’m not mistaken.” When I said that Rian walked over to her. “Hey it’s Regan!” He said giving me a hug. “It is!” I smiled. “Man, thank you for doing the video. What you brought to it really made it that much better.” He seemed very grateful. “Here, I’m going to get the rest of the band. I’m sure they’d love to see you!” Rian said running off with Cassadee in hand.
“So Ms. Kennedy, will this be your last season?” Britney Spears asked me sipping on her wine. “Hopefully not, but only time will tell I suppose. I kinda want to start my real career so it very well could be.” I nodded. “You have a gift, don’t throw it away. Run with it until you can’t anymore.” She smiled. She started talking about something with her music when I saw him. I looked up to see him sipping on a glass of some kind of alcohol talking to was I guess was one of the band members. “What do you think about that?” Britney asked. I snapped back into the conversation. “That sounds lovely.” I nodded not even knowing what she said. “I’m going to go get me another glass of wine and see the other dancers. Here’s my number, if you’re ever wanting to meet up we can.” She smiled and handed me her number then walked off.
Never in my life did I want to hide from someone. Why I want to hide from Zack I’m not sure, it’s not like anything happened. Maybe I am starting to develop a crush on him. I mean he did look really great in that suit. “Regan?” I turned around to see Alex standing there. “It is you!” He brought me into a hug. “You have to come see everyone!” And with that he pulled me over to the bar. “Wait, your the girl that got to dance with Zack.” Jack said when we got over to the group. “Yup, I am.” I nodded my head. “He is gonna be so happy to see you.” Alex smiled. “Oh.” I looked down at my feet.
We continued the conversation for another little bit before I excused myself to walk outside onto the balcony. The cold air hit my skin. I walked over to the railing and leaned on it looking down on the busy New York street. Cars passing by, people laughing and a few car horns is what sounds filled the air. It sounds like that would be loud, but it was quite faint to be honest. I held my hands which held my glass of white wine over the railing. “So, I see you needed a breath of air too.” A voice said coming and leaning over the railing next to me. “Suppose so.” I said looking over at the male figure. “Alex told me you’d be out here. Not surprised.” He said taking a swig of his beer. “And why is that?” I questioned. “Cause, you’re to humble to be acting like those other dancers. They’re trying to get all up on them, and you’re just talking and treating them like humans. It’s quite nice if you ask me.” He looked over at me.
“So why did you come? I mean out of all places to be, why watching some girls tap dance?” I turned around to face the building, but was still against the railing. “Cause I knew you would be here.” He said blatantly. I just looked at him in confused shock. “From the day I saw you, you had something that intrigued me. Maybe it was the way you were headstrong and hardworking, but yet you still had a heart of gold.” He was starring into my eyes. “I have no heart of gold Zack. I’m just here like all the other girls. I dance, go home eat and then sleep. I repeat this almost everyday. It’s almost like I’m a robot to the dancing world, a slave some would call it.” I threw my hands out to the side.
“I know you have one, even if you want to deny it.” He said sitting his drink on a table near by. “If you hate it so much, why don’t you quit?” He looked back at me. “Cause it’s a form of income. I can’t just quit and expect to have a well paying job.” I took a sip of my wine. “Well Rea, we’re the only ones out here, would you like to dance with me?” He held out his hand for me to grab. “That would be lovely.” I said taking it. “Do you know how pretty you are?” He looked down at me. “Are you trying to flirt with me?” I laugh asking. “Maybe a tad bit.” He smiled confessing. I could feel his smile growing. “Are you wanting to take me home? Is that why you’re being so kind to me?” I said putting my head onto his chest. “Maybe. It would be a nice to.” He responded. “I want to take you home in the sense of I want to get to know you. Spend all night talking till the sun rises. Not the other meaning, it’s to soon.” He laughed a bit. “That would be lovely.” I said pulling out of his arms to where I was looking at him. “Let me grab my stuff and I’ll meet you by the doors.” I smiled and kissed his check. I felt a blush grow on both of our cheeks.
