i think part of me is alwasy gonna be an 11 year old really mad that the art style changed in fairy tail every time i get reminded of it... i rewatched about 1.65/2 of the show a few months ago to reanalyze it with my adult brain and it was so noticeable. these are supposed to be scenes taking place at the same location with the same vibe

#mine #like before they had these really nice painted backgrounds shaded with desaturated blue #then they had like. everything is so gradiented and gray and overrendered its hard to find the focus point and it all looks the same #also like 7 minutes of each episode was dedicated to recapping the previous episode #also the misogyny and how every design became nauseatingly oversexualized (even more than before)#hence why i watched only 1.65/2...#i will always have fondness for the version of the show i had in my head as an 11 year old. but it has many flaws
