I love it in games where people just have really bad aim. Like some guy is just shooting at you with a automatic rifle at point blank and just misses every shot. Like they let you do your entire monologue or some cool ninja combo shit while they can't hit you from like 10 feet away.

It just feels so comical like the hand of god just really wants a character to seem like a complete badass but it makes every grunt look completely useless and pathetic failcore. Where did they get these bodyguard/assassins/criminals ? Did they fail out of goon school ? Did everyone just skip gun training ? Are they not getting paid enough ? Is their heart not in it ? What's goon dental look like ?

I've been brain rotting over Saito for almost a year now, and I'm not really the type to make fanarts

So in an attempt to force me into making content for him (and mostly because the brain rot is so bad lol) I've decided to kind of.. oc-fy him, if that makes sense?

I redesigned him to make him a little more personnal, but kept most of his character

Here's the design!! I decided to design him post annihilation route tbh

I always felt like his outfit was.. weird

First, he's supposed to be rich but doesn't really give this impression so I tried to design an outfit that would give a better impression on that!

Also, why does he need two turtleneck? Is he cold? It always seemed odd to me

I just gave him one lmaoo

In the game it's never really specified what is his occupation is, beside that one organisation that's barely mentionned, I don't really know what it was so went with something else..

I headcanon him with a special interest on the human body, so, he studied medicine, I figured that it also helps with all the killing.. lol

Post annihilation route, I decided that he became a forensic for the police, like a cover, so if his bodies ever get discovered.. he can play around and not get discovered

Still need to figure out few stuff before that, but yeah, that's the jist of it o9

I'll try to draw him in the near future even if for now I don't have access to my display tablet's pen orz

What is aitsf?

anon im so sorry im going to try to be Normal™ here but i love this game very much . (im only going to be talking about the first game here btw)

(DW !! no spoilers in this post ^_^)

but aitsf stands for AI: The Somnium Files!! beeest way i could kind of describe it generally is.. sci-fi (? i guess) murder mystery visual novel (<- a bit more than juust that but. mostly). Where u play as detective Kaname Date trying to solve a murder along with his AI eyeball partner, Aiba.

here is its description on steam if youd like a better explanation! Apart from this i feel like i should also mention that there are several routes. <- calling them routes makes them sound like they are optional .. but if you play u should do all of them.

opinion section: its a VERY good game. one of my favorites other than Omori. it has PLEEENTY of flaws of course but overall I think its very enjoyable !!! nooot. to advertise but :]. it goes on sale a LOT going from $40 down to just $8 dollars, while its definitely worth the 40 bucks, if it ever goes on sale i think thatd be a good time to try it out, or just watch a playthrough!. but of course. i should probably also mention its a .. preeetty heavy game? i wont get into it all here but. here is a VERY good list that i recommend looking at before playing or watching the game.

but uhhh. overall. aitsf good. play it for the Aiba

you enjoyed playing mystery games like ace attorney, zero escape and AI the somnium files?

i implore you guys to play buried stars, a communication-survival mystery visual novel developed by line games and studio largo (korean-based game company).

the game is available on eshop (digital only, physical only available in south korea), and on steam! you can also play it in korean/JP audio (i personally recommend korean voice acting but you do you!)

the premise? a talent show has gone awry when the stage set crashed halfway through the show, trapping the 5 finalists and some staff members underneath the ruins of the stage. as they worked together to find a way out, they discovered some secrets and mysteries related to the show's behind the scenes and the finalists themselves.

AI: the Somnium Files Content Warnings

With the news of AI: the Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative, there’s been a surge in interest to play the first game, AI: the Somnium Files, and understandably so! It’s a great game, but one I can’t recommend recklessly, if purely by virtue of it being both a detective and Uchikoshi game.

While I’ve seen some content warnings lists already, I haven’t seen one that’s as detailed or spoiler free as I’d like, so I’ve chosen to make my own.

This list is primarily game-exclusive, but there’s also some warnings included for the Somnium Files ARG that took place in 2019.

By nature of this being a content warning list, it will allude to spoilers, but doesn’t spoil anything directly and exists to inform people interested in the game of what’s depicted before they play.

BTW: If I missed something, feel free to let me know via ask.

Eye trauma:

The biggest one. Lots of eye trauma with victims having lost their eyes, and some characters having their eyes forcibly removed. There’s also descriptions of a victim having an ice pick stabbed into and then removed from their eye socket.

Eye trauma related to empty eye sockets: characters are shown with empty eye sockets. Date is shown with Aiba out of his eyeball for when she’s in hamster mode, but there is no blood shown since she’s in function, a glass eye. However, some characters are shown with empty, bleeding eye sockets.

Medical talk related to eye trauma: characters describe how eyes are removed from sockets but not severed. Distinct from the actual act described above since it reads more as squeamish medical talk.

Cannibalism: a character describes eating eyeballs.

Serial killings

The main mystery of the game is centered around a series of murders.

Gang violence

Yakuza are a regular occurrence throughout the game.

Police corruption

Car accidents

A character getting into a car accident is described on the news.

Drugs:

Aiba frequently makes comments about adjusting Date’s medication without his input.

Gore:

Both displayed through audio and visuals. Nothing realistic, but it’s still rather gruesome.

There’s one segment that briefly describes the smell of gore.

Dismemberment

There’s a censored display of a person being killed via a saw.

Mouth trauma, specifically to a dead body

Head trauma, specifically heads being blown up by bullets and similar

Violence against women:

Almost any character can die in each respective timeline, but certain murders are motivated by the fact that they are women.

The targeted deaths of nameless women are discussed.

PSYNCIN’ IN THE VILLAIN has the player witness and stop a time loop of a woman getting stabbed.

A woman’s naked corpse is inspected with several (albeit, not too detailed) stab wounds.

Women and girls are held hostage, but this is not motivated by their gender and more so just by virtue of there being more women in the main cast than men.

A woman who, while not pregnant at the time she is killed, has recently given birth is killed.

Child endangerment:

For clarification and ease of mind, Mizuki is often involved in the case and the violence that comes with it, but there is no timeline nor chance that she’ll die.

Child abuse:

Specifically, emotional, verbal, neglect, and physical, which is both discussed and shown on-screen. PSYNCIN’ IN THE PAIN has a segment that has audio of a child being hit and verbally abused.

This parent’s abuse isn’t motivated specifically by ableism, but there’s a lot of language involved that can come off that way.

A child is also shown displaying symptoms of CPTSD due to abuse. This isn’t explicitly named, but it can definitely be inferred.

A scene where an abusive parent attempts to justify their abuse is shown, but is displayed as wrong, and is called out as such by the protagonist.

A character in-story attempts to sympathize with an abusive parent, but is also explicitly called out as wrong by the protagonist.

A parent makes the choice not to get a disabled child the accommodations they need.

Ableism:

This is from a writing standpoint. One murderer in the game is characterized in a way that’s ableist, but specifically in the way that a horror movie would be.

Animal abuse/death/injury:

Shown through a child’s drawings, specifically of dismemberment, stabbing, and similar.

A polar bear is shown to have supposedly been injured in the leg, but it’s very quickly revealed to be a person in a suit.

Parental death:

In the context that any character can die, but there’s also discussions of past parental deaths.

One character discusses their parent dying of overwork.

Dementia:

One character is revealed to have dementia, and is discussed in detail during one route. You also have to do a somnium with this character, which explores how this character lives with it.

Cancer: 

One character is revealed to have cancer, and in some routes dies of it. This is discussed in detail on certain routes.

Unreality:

Certain somnium segments explore a character’s paranoia and delusions through metaphor and exploration.

While this list is primarily game-specific, unreality is also a very prominent trigger warning in the ARG, namely on characters’ social media accounts and posts from during it. There are segments where certain characters have full on breakdowns from this, so be careful if you research into the ARG.

Conspiracy theories:

A very common aspect of Uchikoshi games, but there’s segments that extensively describe conspiracy theories, and at points they become pretty unnerving. IIRC, some of these segments are optional, though.

Anime bullshit:

Humor in Uchikoshi’s games tends to come with stuff I’d just call anime bullshit. This extends towards horny comments (usually made towards women) and gags you’d expect with this kind of humor.

There’s jokes/comments about a child being exposed to horny shit.

Jokes about pedophilia:

Some characters make jokes about Date being a pedophile. To be clear, he is not, but this is still a (tasteless) joke made about it.

High schooler/adult relationship:

One of those “technically an adult, but in a freshly out of high school” sort of relationships. One somnium implicitly depicts this, but it is treated as wrong by the characters in-story.

Inappropriate attraction to and parasocial relationships with 18 year olds:

Adult characters are shown to be attracted to and have a parasocial viewpoint when talking about Iris, an 18 year old.

There’s also just, generally horny comments made about her sometimes. See: anime bullshit.

Discussions of pregnancy (specifically teenage pregnancy)

Discussions of retrograde amnesia:

This is a lot of Date’s long-term character arc stuff.

Treatment of LGBT characters:

Mama, a transfem person, is voiced by a cisgender man and is written as a transmisogynistic caricature. She refers to her outfit as a “costume” and characters sometimes make explicitly transphobic jokes/comments about her.

A character that’s discovered to be LGBT dies in every route.

The Resolution route of the game features a gay character being sent to prison after being manipulated into doing illegal things by his partner.

saori: im a hundred percent sure saori is a tekken and street fighter player. girl knows her match ups and jargon, is amazingly good at both games, and (SUPER) good w footsies. idk who she would main in tekken but for streets she has third strike and mains remy i know it.

shinobu: (i dont play first person shooters so im just going w fighting games here lol) she looks like she would play guilty gear bc of the music and also like. ngl i think she would play happy chaos. (he has a gun and goes pew pew, also from what i hear his gameplay is kinda like a fps so yeah)

aoi: she is a visual novel and card game girl. she played zero escape, ai the somnium files, and ace attorney. she, in-universe, plays vanguard and i know damn well her first card game was pokemon, if not yugi-oh.

nagisa: she totally plays... like. turbo dismount-ish games. idk how to explain or what the genre is called but yeah. those. (she also plays guitar hero and gg w shinobu somtimes. she mains baiken btw)

dalia: she plays third strike w saori bc wow karate like like the thing she used to do and she thinks it's pretty fun, she's a super casual player, like, she doesnt mash buttons but she wouldnt try to practice combos. (she mains chun-li and ryu bc they're kinda simple, ryu especially.)

miiko: fnaf and them's fightin' herds. (idk who she would main in the pony fighting game tho, it's been forever since i played it.)

noa: she looks like she would play idol games and dating sims w girls like ddlc for the cute characters. she always, ALWAYS does a 100% playthrough of all the routes in dating sims, even the bad ending ones.

rinku: animal crossing and any games w creatures tbh. she collected all the bugs in animal crossing bc she just can.

ibuki: exercise games. yeah that's it lol sorry girlie...

rei: she has piano tiles on her phone and a couple other rhythm games bc she has preddy good rhythm from what muni said in the anime
