I might miss the point but both are football fans and both attended the final with their groups of friends, sat separately and most likely ran into each other in the VIP area backstage hence the pic. A place like being at the same wedding is a totally different thing especially if we know Louis isn’t friends with the bride as much as Harry is. Sure they seemingly ran into each other alongside other VIPs and singers and F1 drivers backstage in the stadium but sat separately and went with different groups of friends. How is that any more than just that. They could hate each other and still run into each other unwantingly at such events haha it’s not possible to forever avoid that, especially at a big final like the euros or a music award show etc.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to achieve here. Are you trying to convince me that it’s not a big deal? Maybe you haven’t been here all that long, but plausible deniability is the name of the game. Everything you cite is exactly the reason they both could show up there.

It seems like you don’t understand the lengths to which people (including HL) have gone to keep anyone from seeing the two of them even in the same vicinity.

You certainly don’t have to believe they’re still together, I’ll even give you a pass if you’ve somehow ignored all the evidence and believe they never dated, but if you actually believe the two of them hate each other, you’re a lost cause.

The point of everyone’s excitement is that, for some reason, the two of them being in the same place at the same time was allowed to be public. And that we got a photo of them just feet away from each other. Other than Louis’ performance in 2016, that hasn’t happened outside of One Direction concerts and interviews since Lairport in 2014, IIRC. They’ve been consistently absent from each other’s lives in a way that is so glaringly obvious, it would be funny if it wasn’t so infuriating.

I’m not saying anything more is going to come from this moment, but it was a big deal.

I'll be honest, I'm slightly side eyeing Louis' actions here. It doesn't make sense to me. Tho I do recognize that there is a LOT we don't know here.

All we have is the info HLD gave us, and from their understanding it happened because *someone* told Louis HLD was leaking stuff, and leaked/spread the festival info before he did. We don't know if there's 100% proof that this is the reason. Maybe HLD knows for a fact, but I understand if they can't post it. We don't know.

I just find it odd, impulsive and tbh a bit immature to block your biggest UA in what reads as a bit of a spiteful emotional reaction. Based on what? The word of ONE other UA? If one stopped to asses the situation they would see that HLD *didn't* leak the festival info. It was everywhere online and on the website of the venue, and a band who is playing in it had posted about it. So it makes little sense to put all the blame on 1 UA for it, especially when so many others posted too.

The only thing against HLD here *is* the fact that they *are* Louis' biggest UA and as such have the biggest reach. So perhaps in Louis' eyes that counts as the reason for them to be the ones to blame? But we don't know.

Regardless, I don't think this is a very smart decision on his part. HLD do essentially free publicity for him. And they have a massive reach. So it feels odd to basically freeze them out.

Other things at play that we simply don't know are:

We don't know HLD's previous relationship with Louis. Maybe they've spoken before, or maybe this was the culmination of other small things that annoyed Louis. WE DON'T KNOW

We don't know Louis' plans for his upcoming era. I'd understand if he wanted his identity as an artist to be independent from Harry. It makes sense as an artist. UAs get quoted in articles all the time, so maybe that is one factor that counts against HLD too, sadly. But regardless of Larry, artists want an independent identity, and being tied to another artist is not optimal. - and again WE DON'T KNOW

Also important to point out tho, he only blocked them on Twitter for some reason. HLD still follows him on IG.

Regardless tho, I just don't see this as a smart decision, and I'd imagine his management wouldn't approve this either, tho idk how much they care about these things, or if they even know. That's a good question zjdhdja. So it's kinda funny to see solo harries make theory threads about youarehome as well... and that HSD then liked one of them and followed youarehome on twitter. Hi love, sure, you can ask whatever you want! ;) I'm sorry I didn't answer you earlier.

I don't think that's exactly what Gabi meant with that, no. But to explain that we're going to have to go back in time a little bit: So when they were in the band, there was undeniably a narrative that Harry and Louis were basically mortal enemies, right? I think everyone is aware of that. So they were never ever anywhere together, never alone, they couldn't fly together, they couldn't even write songs together - they wrote Perfect in different rooms, c'mon - but of course that wasn't the reality at all. So their team and UAs (completely controlled by 1DHQ) would always push this narrative on us and cover up for the fact that they were literally always in the same room and standing next to each other. There was this particular UA, actually, called fyz and they were very famous for cropping Louis out of pictures and make people only see what they were meant to be seeing. So basically:

The context is so important. And people can twist things completely by simply cropping something out of the picture or photoshopping or simply not acknowledging the actual facts. So it happened a lot, with everything. Things like "Louis and Liam are in the studio today" and we would get a picture of them, and months later some other picture would leak with Harry there too (just an example, I don't remember if that was exactly how it happened lol sorry). They had thousands and thousands of exclusive photos and they would drop them when it was convenient.

So if gay rumours were out of control (they were all about het Harry, btw) Louis would pop up in a different continent w/ Eleanor because see? h&l are not together, they're as far away as possible. But the pictures were always proven to be from a different day or in a different context. They were just posting when it was convenient to push this narrative.

That's probably what Gabi meant with "UAs on twitter". We see what we are supposed to see, and this never changed. So no, it goes much further than questioning if HLD has post-hiatus pictures that they were asked not to share. I don't think that's the case at all. Bringing this to the present time is not hard to put 2 and 2 together and realize that sometimes they go MIA at the same time or one of them is always MIA while the other is somewhere publicly. And their individual teams are definitely always covering up for that. They casually place one of them on the other side of the globe when they’re actually not there and this kind of stuff we see all the time. But also, there's a theory that there's a photo ban preventing Harry and Louis to be photographed together - probably something post-hiatus, or even during the band but preventing them from being seen alone and out of work. It's called super-injunction. Based on that, I don't think people have pictures of Harry and Louis at all, it would be legally forbidden to publish any information or pics that expose a relationship between the two of them. Which just reinforces the receipt you're originally linking on this ask. Disposable cameras make a lot of sense.

Oh and I'm aware there's this theory about HLD being an insider and this doesn't make any sense to me, I don't think they're hiding something or pushing any particular narrative. This UA I mentioned earlier though? Fyz? They're HSD. Still, very biased towards this het Harry image and posting only what goes with this narrative.

I don’t know if you saw but there is a video on Twitter that a Louie posted where a larrie yelled out at Louis if he misses Harry. It was while he was walking with his band. I think something to do with the SiriusXM performance. I feel so embarrassed about it. This is exactly why louies who aren’t larries think we don’t care about Louis outside of Harry. You are able to see Louis and that is what you want to do? Not call out you love him, love his music, love Bigger Than Me? It’s not all of us but then you see the streaming numbers and larries who never tweet about Bigger Than Me and who get offended when a streaming twitter account for Louis questions whether we are the best fandom. Who act like streaming is an obligation but only when it is about a song of Louis’. You get hld tweeting about getting Boyfriends to 100m streams - so why don’t the larries who try with Boyfriends, a song I have to admit I don’t even like, want to try with Louis’ songs? Bigger Than Me has exposed Louis’ fandom when it comes to his music and it’s not a good look. Louis had over 500,000 thousand fans on his tour. How many of those fans must not stream his music? Whether larries or directioners?

I like Louis’ music better than Harry’s. I just do. I still support and stream Harry’s music. Louis-leaning larries support Harry better than Harry-leaning larries support Louis. In fact, those Harry-leaning larries are basically just harries who don’t support Louis outside of him being a man to ship Harry with.

I did see the video and that kind of behavior is just unacceptable. Fans like that begin to think that Louis and Harry’s relationship is just like....something out of fanfiction or something from fandom. And they treat Harry and Louis like characters rather than as living, breathing human beings who deserve basic human decency and respect as they live their lives. It’s very childish and immature.

Anyway, I also agree that a lot of Larries who prefer Harry absolutely do not think of Louis as an individual outside of his relationship and don’t support his music either. Some of the largest blogs on Tumblr even openly admit to that. Thankfully, that’s not everybody, but it’s enough people that it makes us all look bad and it’s really frustrating to have to be lumped in with them.

I deleted my OG thoughts thinking this isn't worth getting into but after seeing someone's post [who I agreed with] get reblogged by another person who complained about innocent fans and Louis thus contradicting OPs post and turning it negative really annoyed me and made me want to say this.

A lot on here never cared about HLD some even disliked them and called them out for their "trying to be sus" and "act like they know L&H personally" behavior to all of a sudden their batting hard for them [IE the reblogger]. Obviously the Solo UAs are toxic always have been but HLD was still 🙄 trying to appear like they knew L&H personally.

I also don't get why some are calling Louis childish. For what ?? He choose to block and move on that's not childish. It would be childish if he publicly bashed them or something. I assume this isn't actually about caring for HLD bc most from what I could tell didn't care before. And then there's that picture of Charlie lightening posted of himself on his story where it seems like he's traveling so people think that Charlie is with louis and so louis is probably working there, maybe recording songs or a music video or maybe his documentary.

I have a question when fans or random people took photos of harry and Olivia walking around in London were they tipped of . It’s seems very fishy that those were submitted and then posted by deuxmoi . Like who told those people to send it to deuxmoi . Or could it be that someone of their team took the pictures ?

I think that the pictures sent to Deuxmoi are highly suspect and could have been easily planned. The fact they went to a crowded park and Harry was wearing the same clothes he’s been in all month also put the chances of them being spottedTM sky high. 

Also, once they were spotted one time, fans specifically started going to his neighborhood/park to try and see him, and that’s how we got more pictures of them at the park - again in the same clothes. Except those pictures went to twitter, you know like normal people do it, and not Deuxmoi.

It is also suspect that, while Deuxmoi was doing their regular weekend “spotted” reel, they still reserved a whole entire post just for Holivia walking arm in arm.

Also, important to note the timeline here:

Holivia haven’t been seen together since January. Then out of nowhere we get several reports of Holivia, and Harry is weirdly wearing the same clothes for all of them:

* April 1: creepy Italian stalkers film Harry walking alone

* April 8: Fans get pictures with Harry. They later (Apr 12th) say Olivia was with him, but no pics of her

* April 11: Daily Mail publishes article saying ‘are Holivia still together?’ and there’s breakup speculation in the media

(** Deuxmoi also posted a completely unprompted header to a questions game on IG in which she said “and no idk if Holivia are still together!”. I just don’t have it so I’m not sure of the date, but it was between the 1st and 10th of April I think).

i replayed kz again tonight and managed to beat it in 4 hrs instead of 11 !!! which is rly cool imo, i think i got a max of like 50 deaths or less for the full run ??? i was just playing regularly but usin the prism blade for the cool blood effects, not in speedrun mode for the counter, and i managed 2 drag my friend into hyperfixation hell with me :} but also i have some thoughts and opinions im not rly sure how to compile in a meaningful way, so here���s the like. pure brain-down-on-blog post version under the cut. if this gets auto-tagged into the real actual tag for this game im very sorry for my hubris im just. thinking emoji

so id like to start this with the final boss makes me SO sad :( like yeah she doesnt have much dialogue but idk she just makes me so sad. she’s so desperate and she Knows shes going to lose and im just like. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you’re so cool!!!!!!! but also i was listen 2 Full Confession bc it’s just. what the heart wants rn. i need to be sad and caffeinated in order to get into the Writing Zone rn and then i was THINKIN like my friend mentioned while we were playing the dragon tape that the song that plays is very similar to Full Confession (which i had sent him earlier while i was losing my mind over the final boss) and then i was like. Hm. these are very similar but have such wildly different moods -- Breath of the Serpent is much more like. ‘you’re going to be afraid of me’ while Full Confession is like ‘i’m afraid of you’ and i think that the different Vibes from these two soundtrack bits about important Null characters is just like. WOW and i wonder how a version of it that was purely Zero’s might be. would it be more triumphant? more flat? what desperation or emptiness is in there that could be drawn out by this melody??? i dont KNOW and i can’t write music unfortunately but im just like AAAAAAAAAA

i also rly wanna know what snow has going on ??? like. shes clearly important. she is a vital npc. but Why. she didnt even rly do anything except Show Up???

also the art for this game is just so GOOD,,, like. i didnt rly notice a lot of the backgrounds my first playthrough bc i was just losing my mind the whole time trying to solve each puzzle but the second playthrough im just like. AAAAA. and the soundtrack? effervescent. groundbreaking. perfect. So Good 

and the GAMEPLAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh my GOD i was SO vibing with it, the difficulty curve was kinda extreme imo but as soon as i started like. Getting It? and started looking at each room less like combat/fighting and more like a puzzle that needed to be solved it made it so much easier 2 get into the headphase of ‘okay how do i clear this’ and it was just like. YOOOOOOOO

and zero is just a lot of fun 2 play as. legitimately everything about him is just so ridiculous. his dialogue options? ridiculous. his design? absurd. the implications that hes like. 22 and just having the worst 10 days of his life? mood, buddy. this guy likes samurai movies and card games and mushroom pizza and has worn the same outfit every single day for who knows how long and hes also a war veteran, an emotionless serial killer and a drug addict. and hes 22 and 5′10. literally NOTHING about those traits make sense together but here he is, just Vibing. 

i love him so much. im going to make a self insert oc that’s just giving him a friend who knows how to cook n is just like ‘oh wow, that’s rough buddy’ when hes like ‘i only feel alive when i kill people’ and conveniently knows how 2 get bloodstains out of things bc i think he needs that kind of person in his life since his like. therapist is conspiring against him n he keeps having 2 kill his friends 

also, unfortunately, i want to get every achievement, which i feel like is going to become hld....2!! where i get all but 1 of them and am stuck at 96% for 2+ years >:T

I have a question when fans or random people took photos of harry and Olivia walking around in London were they tipped of . It’s seems very fishy that those were submitted and then posted by deuxmoi . Like who told those people to send it to deuxmoi . Or could it be that someone of their team took the pictures ?

Essentially, we don’t know for sure. 

I think that the pictures sent to Deuxmoi are highly suspect and could have been easily planned. The fact they went to a crowded park and Harry was wearing the same clothes he’s been in all month also put the chances of them being spottedTM sky high. 

Also, once they were spotted one time, fans specifically started going to his neighborhood/park to try and see him, and that’s how we got more pictures of them at the park - again in the same clothes. Except those pictures went to twitter, you know like normal people do it, and not Deuxmoi.

It is also suspect that, while Deuxmoi was doing their regular weekend “spotted” reel, they still reserved a whole entire post just for Holivia walking arm in arm.

Also, important to note the timeline here:

Holivia haven’t been seen together since January. Then out of nowhere we get several reports of Holivia, and Harry is weirdly wearing the same clothes for all of them:

April 1: creepy Italian stalkers film Harry walking alone

April 8: Fans get pictures with Harry. They later (Apr 12th) say Olivia was with him, but no pics of her

April 11: Daily Mail publishes article saying ‘are Holivia still together?’ and there’s breakup speculation in the media 

(** Deuxmoi also posted a completely unprompted header to a questions game on IG in which she said “and no idk if Holivia are still together!”. I just don’t have it so I’m not sure of the date, but it was between the 1st and 10th of April I think).

April 12: TMZ reports at night that Olivia has a stalker and the legal documents state she lives with Jason and their kids

More pictures with same fans and Harry at the park come out, as well as a YouTube video (now private) where they claim Olivia was there too but no pics/video of her

April 13: TMZ issues a correction article saying Olivia does not live with Jason

April 15: The Mirror publishes an article saying Holivia had a cozy pub date (no pictures)

Hyper Light Drifter is basically perfect

I've tried several times to write up my feelings on Hyper Light Drifter, and each time I've hit a block, looked back over what I've written, decided I hate most of it, and wallowed in sadness for a bit  before repeating the whole cycle. My wife pointed out that writing is not like games, where you can just keep grinding out a challenge, failing and failing until at last you get it; sometimes you need to step away for awhile and let clarity come to you of its own accord.

This was ironic, because actually, I often feel that games are this way as well. A challenge you simply could not overcome yesterday takes only two tries today. Sleeping on it made all the difference. But my wife had just seen me play through Hyper Light Drifter, a game that had such a hold on me that I found myself exhibiting an uncharacteristic stubbornness, soldiering through even the hardest challenges with a trance-like obsession when I almost certainly would have stepped away from another game. Now I'm back writing about it and find myself knowing exactly what to say. Go figure.

I really loved playing Hyper Light Drifter. I kept thinking it was one of the most perfect games I'd ever played, then arguing with myself that that couldn’t be--nobody even talked about this game—then continuing to relish every moment of the game and laud each design decision I noticed. “Yes,” I’d think, “that was the best possible way to implement that concept.” With the exception of two absolutely unforgivable bugs (one causing permanent slowdown, the other causing me to lose a dungeon’s worth of progress), I couldn’t find anything to criticize. The visual storytelling, the combat feel, the pacing, the dichotomy of intense difficulty and forgiving checkpoints all felt tailored to my exact tastes.

Ultimately I think the reason this game appeals to me so much is because part of me never wanted modern games. Part of me wishes games today were just amazing 90s games. When video games went 3D, it’s not like the potential of 2D games had been exhausted--we just abandoned that track as a species, enticed by triangle tits and Z-targeting.

I enjoy the Horizons and the Gods of War, but there’s a lot about those kinds of games that I could do without. All the talking, for example. Also, most of the systems. Not to beat a dead horse, but Horizon has a whole sidequest line devoted to finding ancient coffee mugs. There’s also a bunch of outposts where you can sneak around and kill humans. No. If I want to kill humans occupying outposts, I’ll play the kill-humans-occupying-outposts game. Horizon was supposed to be about blowing up glittery robot dinosaurs. All the time I spent not doing that, I wished I was.

Hyper Light Drifter is lean, but also deliberate in its intentions. Every element feels decadent, like the craftwork of some mad artisan—the nuanced risk-reward of the dash mechanic, the metagame of balancing your renewable ammo supply, the satisfying chunk of obtaining a new item or the zip-snap of your slash-dash lopping off some unfortunate head. Hyper Light Drifter falls into a small category of games that feel like direct evolutions of the 2D games of our childhood. It's a glimpse at the future we might've gotten if not for Tomb Raider and Doom. Scratch that, it's the future we got anyway, albeit in small, precious doses. In fact, I think HLD stands as an example of modern game concepts influencing classic game concepts. What looks on the surface like a neon Zelda, feels oddly Souls-y in your hands. The results are positively post-retro.

We saw similar results in the likes of Fez, which brilliantly used 3D to reinvent 2D; Mark of the Ninja, which borrowed from the traditionally 3D stealth genre and innovated upon the tenets of that genre in a 2D context; and Guacamelee, a Metroidvania which took cues from fighting games to master combat-feel and beat even the giants of the genre, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Super Metroid at their own game, at least in terms of the moment-to-moment action.

The Drifter has an efficient brutality like many a video game ninja, but the combat has a notably staccato feel to it in contrast to the legato momentum of games like Ninja Gaiden or Shinobi 3. Every sword slash has a tiny dead zone in between, and if you mash, even your basic three-slash combo is likely to drop. Unable to queue up subsequent inputs with buffering, you have to be disciplined in your rhythm--get frantic, get yourself killed. When you learn that this game was the brainchild of a man with a congenital heart defect, this design element takes on a profound relevance.  

Sometimes the best strategy is to let them come to you, lest you get winded.

Dashes can be chained together infinitely, but the timing is so tight there's a challenge room dedicated to mastering it. In the beginning, I found it hard to consistently chain even two dashes together. After an hour of entranced practice, I hit a hundred. Master this and you'll be untouchable. 

Frequent setpieces keep the game's dungeons and exploration elements from feeling rote. You never know what'll be around the next corner, but it's sure to be a treat for the eyes.

A "free trial" period would have been nice.

Also is the revenue really worth it? According to Twitter, an account like HLD can earn up to 97% of what you pay, after in-app purchase fees. So they can take home $1.39 per super follow.

Let's say 500 followers gave it a go, that'd be $1,495.00 in total.

Is this being split between all admins? Or only between those who feed the super follow content? What's the bank account behind it if the admins sit all over the world? I'm just waiting for HLD to try and get the verified badge. It's actually not as difficult.

But for now, they have to prove the paid content is worth it. And it seems that screenshots are being passed around anyway - giving those who share it the attention instead of HLD. It's all still a very strange concept to me.

Anon about HLD getting inside info, I can tell you for a fact they didn’t get anything re: Pleasing. The first account to get details was @TheHSUpdate. They posted about the Pleasing Pen at 2:07 EST while HLD posted at 2:52 AM. Here you can see HLD stole the screenshot from TheHSUpdate:

It’s even clearer they stole from this screenshot LINK, the first photo of the bunch. They tried to clean it up but that was posted at 2:52 AM EST. Zoom in, you’ll see there are two slightly different black colors, one is the original screenshot and the other one is a black square/background they added later. The original screenshot has a super thin white line at the top, if you don’t zoom in you won’t see it. But look here: LINK posted at 2:31 AM. It’s the same screenshot but without the big black added background. You can see the thin white line at the top too.

What HLD did is grab screenshots from other accounts (most of them from @TheHSupdate but also from others) and post them. They know our side of the fandom just follows them for the most part so we’d never notice they were stolen.

No accounts got inside info on Pleasing. Some fans randomly managed to get in the website (probably allowed so they’d leak stuff, as a marketing strategy). Then it was shut down for a while, then everyone was allowed in.

Thank you for clearing that up, anon! Very helpful 😌 actually, that makes much more sense than anyone getting inside info. HLD is a great UA and this is simply how things work. People are dead ass making things up and clowning over anything at this point.

With that being said, I really don’t care about this kind of fandom drama (or any kind of fandom drama) especially the ones from twitter. So thank you for everyone’s opinions and asks but this is not what I’m interested in talking about on my blog.
