Okey so I just saw another post about this. Is Emily’s middle name Elizabeth like in canon?Because I know it is but none the fandom wiki pages have any info about that. Is this a mandella affect?!

thank you SO much for this question. emily does not have any middle name in canon as far as i can tell, but her mom is named elizabeth prentiss

i do not think this caused by the mandela effect but rather a product of fanon (fanon is defined as widely accepted things in a fandom like the idea that jj kicks in her sleep). 

did we all think elizabeth prentiss would name her daughter after herself? very likely. did we just want to give her a middle name and elizabeth is a very common white girl middle name? also likely. 

hypothesis: someone wrote it into some fanfictions and posts, and the rest of the fandom repeated it as fact because it made sense 

for you, i did a little bit of investigating:

the first thing i found was this emily prentiss rp blog that lists elizabeth as her middle name [link]. it was last updated in 2015 AND lists emily prentiss’ sexuality as straight so it is not a reliable source, but may be an indication of fandom consensus at this time

a few other tumblr blogs write her full name as emily elizabeth prentiss, a few posts [link] & [link] use it, and I found some wattpad fics in which this middle name is used:

I also found this used in a jemily fic on ff.net where Emily loses her memory and JJ is forced to remind her who she is: “Your name is Emily Elizabeth Prentiss, Lauren Reynolds is a alias you used when after Valhalla. Whom by the way, was Ian Doyle. You killed him when he tried to kidnap Declan, his son who you brought to the states to hide him. You are my wife of 8 years. Your not a arms dealer. Please believe me. EMILY PLEASE!" JJ emotionality tells her wife.” [source]

there are also a couple of results that list her middle name spelled “elisabeth” but thats less frequent

in conclusion, you are not imagining things. emily elizabeth prentiss is commonly considered to be her full name in fandom and that’s why you thought it was true
