I have a question, out of curiosity, have you ever thought about creating a story with some of your characters? Do you usually draw and paint them on paper and sometimes with computer editing/art programs?

P.S.: Your drawings and presentations look amazing

i've thought about it occasionally in a very vague way but that's about it. i'm not much of a lore or worldbuilding kind of guy so besides trungo & friends and a couple others, most of my characters are one-offs--though i am not fully immune to popular pressure which is why brother gregor has been getting multiple appearances after his unexpected popularity on here. i also don't really enjoy fiction writing and very much don't have the discipline to draw comics so realistically the best you're probably gonna get from me is multiple disconnected vignettes of the same character or characters. my most recent fixation is evidentially some sort of redwall-adjacent setting full of shrews and other critters in monk robes but there's not a ton of connective tissue there so far.

ON THE OTHER HAND my partner is my opposite in all of the above respects and does like working on narrative projects and has been on and off building up the lore of the critter monk setting. the two of us (and maybe some other artists??) might even try and make a zine or two about it later this year.

as far as my art process goes, almost all of it is drawn traditionally and then scanned and lightly fussed with in photoshop. lately i have been doing a lot of sketches digitally and then transferring them to real pen and paper, but sometimes i like the digital sketch enough to clean it up and post as well. it's pretty easy to distinguish my digital vs ink line-art since the lines are a lot chunkier and pixel-y, e.g.:

alr here's a summary of the full biography of this man i made up. i wish i was good at writing but no, so this just lives in my head.

growing up, i think he's the youngest in an all boys family and he was an outcast of sorts. he purposefully isolated himself from his brothers and other kids and was picked on for it. i have him as shorter and less built that most of the male characters and i think he was treated like the runt of the litter. this made him very scrappy and untrusting but also sharp and quick on his feet.

i don't think he had particularly close relationship with his parents cuz he wasn't a talkative or confident kid and was seen as a mopey and cowardly. he started putting on a confidence façade as he got older though.

he gets some sort of work in blacksmithing (not the main guy or anything. he helps) when he's older. he develops this sword obsession. classic queer idiot and his sword obsession. he'd make acquaintances when working and crack jokes and all that but he's not opening up to anyone. and he thinks he's fine with that. he'd train for the army when he was in he's 20/21 y/o.

he would meet elpenor (19/20 y/o) here but they never really get time to chat. elpenor does get teased for being dense and gets his intelligence mocked often by the other dudes and peri feels this protectiveness over him and he thinks elpenor is too nice.

now ody would be mid to late 30s (?) when he left for war i think. but, in epic, it seems like he was younger so if we say he was in his late 20s during the trojan, then peri's in his mid 20s when they leave Ithaca.

after the war, it's the events of the odyssey/epic. i have him lose an arm during ruthlessness as i've mentioned here.

i think my silly gays got close during the war period. if anyone got more specific questions, plz feel free to ask <3

How did you learn anatomy so well?!

a LOT of practice!! im entirely self-taught but have been drawing for abt 20 years!! it just takes time BUT also understanding what to focus on when it comes to wanting to improve rather than just aimlessly drawing (at least in my experience) such as figure drawing and shape perspective, etc!

hello!!! first off, i know you probably hear this a lot, but your sonic story ideas and art are AMAZING. Secondly: i know you made the post a while ago, but I completely agree with your opinion that the metal virus arc would have been cooler if shadow and sonic had switched places. the angst with the hero falling victim to the virus would have been so cool. Did you have any specific ideas for that scenario that you could share?

i kinda thought it'd be interesting if zombot sonic was unique from other zombots because ofc his protagonist syndrome is just that prevalent. like, he held off the virus for a really long time. no one else was able to do that. so, what if the virus mutated? it would have had to get more aggressive, at least, in order to overcome his speed. and that's kind of just how viruses work. over time, they mutate...

so, what if he mainly just attacks other zombots? his desire to end the virus and protect people so strong that the aggression induced by the virus is channelled towards becoming the mr x alpha zombot out of them all. ofc his friends can't rely on him anymore because he would also attack THEM if they got anywhere near him, but unlike the shambling lot, he's always active, always hunting, and he seems to be a lot smarter than the other zombots too. he can set up traps. he can take on multiple opponents at once. etc.

i'd imagine this would make him really scary for his friends because while regular zombots are easy enough to escape (circumstantial), i don't think it'd be possible to escape sonic. like, he still has his super speed, and i feel like once he targeted you, he goes full on persistence predator until you're caught. like mr x <3 ghfghfghf sorry for the resident evil reference, but the intimidation level would be exactly that.

as for shadow... NOT infected... that motherfucker has a really big role to fill. of course he can't replace sonic, but i feel like a lot of sonic's friends would kind of... expect him to step up. especially if sonic ended up sacrificing himself for shadow like, sonic burns away the virus by running, but if he was able to throw shadow out of harms way at the cost of being trapped by a hoard, well, he'd do it. um. anyways yeah idw shadow would definitely struggle with that. mr "cowards run - i win" would have to start thinking a little better than that. he'd have to gain some tangible teamwork skills.

because people would see shadow as Their Last Hope. literally. he CAN'T be infected. even if everyone else falls, he could still turn the tide. and that means he's included in everything now whether he wants to be or not. tails talks to him more about potential failsafes and all his plans and etc. it would lead to a lot of interesting character interactions that we don't really get to see very often
