This post is popping off again so I feel it necessary to mention that the mind swapping bit is viable between humans and cybertronians. Which comes with a whooooole lot of existential implications that I think would be very fun to play around with in a more mature setting like prime.

Ratchet having to live with the fact that human souls and cybertronian sparks are close enough to each other that the other species' body won't reject it when transplanted. Wondering how similar he really is to the organics he's been dissing since day one. Questioning why he even had those prejudices to begin with. Having to live with the fear of being so so small and vulnerable around people so much bigger and stronger, and taking that experience with him when he switches back.

Optimus having similar realizations and wondering how they're the same if Primus did not make them. Unicron may very well have started organic life on Earth, given he is Earth. Have humans been closer to Cybertronians than he anticipated? Spawned from the brother of their own creator? Made from different materials outside, perhaps, but all the same energy keeping them alive?

And God knows what Megatron does with that information. He's chased the blood of Unicron for so long, searching for a dark power that could make him unstoppable to any of primus's creations, and here are the beings that live off Unicron himself. Surviving off his blood and his metal. Wasting his resources and potential with their insignificant lives. And yet, can he truly call them insignificant anymore when their sparks made of the same thing animating his kind? It confounds him that something so weak and unassuming could be so similar to him. He doesn't want to have to think about it.
