I'm genuinely surprised by the amount of attention this post has gotten. A lot of people feel the same way. Which is good. Still surprising though. XD
Think I'll say some more stuff. I understand any sort of criticisms towards the first two games. But I seriously am bothered by how some people may put it as a favorite of there's.
Let me talk about Filmento again. I can't really make an opinion on his videos. Yet his content may seem fine if I watch them.
But why the Hell, is Infinite a favorite of his? Also, where the fuck are you reading this movie script?
You know what...while I did make a quote retweet long ago to his tweet about the Bioshock movie. That I genuinely think making a movie out of Bioshock is very difficult to do. Yet, I do think he has some points on this. Even though I think die hard fans would be pissed. I'm reminded of my Bioshock Rebirth stuff.
But back to the point, why Infinite? Gonna be honest, there are things I like about the game.
Yeah the gameplay isn't as memorable as the first two. But it's playable and I that I recall, it can be fun when it wants to. It's just a more simple version of the original games. And yeah, no weapon wheel really sucks. But I wouldn't mind carrying three weapons like Gears Of War and Killzone 1. Such as Booker always keeping a pistol or not.
I do like Elizabeth, before Ken starts writing stupid bullshit, I like the Vox Populi, the vigors are fine. And I liked exploring Rapture in its prime. Everything else...I just don't like this game.
I'm especially fuckin tired of the Bioshock 2 hate. I am done with that shit. I'm tired of this elitist behavior. I'm sorry, I'm ranting and venting, whatever. I just don't get why Infinite can be an all time. I think I could understand. But I feel like the first two games really outshine it.
Hell, I'm gonna be random. You know what shooters I find better than Infinite? Killzone 2 and Resistance Fall Of Man.
Okay, I know they are in a nutshell sci-fi military shooters. And I shouldn't compare them to a series like Bioshock. But these two stick with me. They may not be one the levels such as Bioshock 1 & 2. But they stick with me for a multitude of reasons. I'm still disappointed Resistance 1 and 2 aren't on PlayStation Now.
Also, yes, I've played the Halo series. But I think that would be cliche if I put it up here.
Bioshock Infinite is a bunch of missed potential. And it only gets worse when you realize in some ways or how I think about it. This is basically what Bioshock would've been if Ken Levine had everything his way. Considering he almost gave up on the game, and the bad ending was gonna be the only ending. I'm starting to think people sadly REALLY resonate with Infinite's very cynical themes. Compared to the themes in Bioshock 2 and whatever else.
Infinite and Burial At Sea are the damn reason why this series has been dead for nearly a decade. The reason why Bioshock 4 is still maybe not revealed yet. And why it has been in development for so long. Because Ken couldn't handle other people wanting to try their take on the Bioshock universe or even continue anything with Rapture.
I will admit, I appreciate Ken's introduction of the multiverse. But he uses it to butt fuck the original game.
Sorry, I really wanted to speak my mind. I'm sorry if I sound very toxic. Especially with the way I spoke.
It's no wonder I just wanna see Ken be a guest at the game awards and start having stage fright. Because the dude thinks stupid shit, and has made stupid shit. In all seriousness, Jordan Thomas and anyone else understands the series more and claims it more than however Ken did.
To be honest, I think I'm a Bioshock fanboy. But when it comes to Infinite, I'm basically yeah...that's a different discussion.
With Bioshock 1 & 2, I'm like Hell yeah!
I think Bioshock fans will understand that.
