I didn't think I'd be making an update this quickly, but here I am! We're sitting at just over 20 responses, which is enough for me to say YEAH WE'RE DOIN IT! I'll get working on a dedicated blog asap so we can be more organized, but for now, here's a few lil bits I wanna tack on!
A: I FORGOT SCAR. Somehow as I was alphabetizing by name and not username, I skipped our favorite villain recent winner! He's added into the list now, and I shouuuuuld have the settings so you can edit responses (I hope >< ). Thank you to whoever pointed that out, you're a lifesaver.
B: Most people want a Discord! As I've never set up a large scale server before, I will likely be opening up mod applications once the interest check closes! A few people expressed interest in helping, but I didn't ask for names in the interest check, so if you were one of those people, please keep an eye out, I'd love your help! However, I do want to keep the Discord optional, so you can still participate without joining.
C: Between how long people want for creation and getting mods picked, I'm looking at APRIL 1ST as the showcase day. Yes, really. What better day to celebrate silly stuff and provide a respite from pranks?
And finally D: A few people asked about not doing scenes specifically, such as teams or writing an original piece that wasn't directly shown. I'm totally down for this, as long as you still fit the tone! Obviously, scenes and bits were my initial inspiration, but I don't want to limit your creativity! All I ask is you keep it lighthearted :)
That's about it for now. I'm glad to see everyone's enthusiasm! Let's make this a fun time!
New Life Series community event interest check!
Hello fellow Life Series enjoyers. I've been feeling kinda blue and dejected from all the zines recently that only accept a limited number of people (I am personally on a rejection streak T_T), and I wanted something that could bring the community together and get everyone involved who is interested. So, I was curious in making my own event, one where there's no limit to the number of creators! This would be like the week spotlight events, except it would be one posting day based around a certain theme. Everything would be shared by a blog made just for this event, so it'd be like a big art gallery!
The theme would be: the silly side of the Life Series! We know people love to make things for the dramatic moments and deaths and kills, but what about the just plain funny? Someone walk off a cliff mid-sentence? Randomly throw an important object out of their inventory? Say something that made you laugh out loud? This is the time to celebrate it!
Here is an interest check for what I am currently titling The Bright Side of Life Series community event. Just wanted to get a feel for things before I make a dedicated sideblog. I think I'll leave it up until next Friday (Feb 16). Also, please share! I think this could be a real fun wave of art and community, so I'd love to reach as many fans as possible! Thanks, and I look forward to what we make! (This is my first time running something like this so if you have any tips, please help a gal out)
