i just read plain bad heroines by emily m danforth (miseducation of cameron post) in pretty much one 7ish hour sitting (it is now just after 2:30am) and i enjoyed it VERY much. the narratorial voice is very fun, the prose is good-to-excellent ("her mother was a staccato of sighs as she fed the dishwasher" is one line that sticks), AND there are SO many gay relationships that especially delight me but they are SPOILERS so i shant say.

i really really enjoy metatext and also whatever the genre is where you have to piece the story together from in-universe texts, which this isnt Quite but it aligns with. its a lot of fun and there are a lot of layers of stories happening.

definitely going to keep it and reread it at some point in the future. 4/5 i think!
