Anything and everything you can and want to tell me about Nylah (and Bob) because I'm desperate and love them so much. Sending you hugs 🧡

Nylah and Bob have my whole heart, both individually and separately.

Nylah Facts:

Nylah's parents are very disappointed in her for joining the military. While their reasons are valid (you could have made more money not designing weapons, you're part of the military-industrial complex, do you know all the ways the military exploits minorities?), their lack of support for their daughter is not.

While Nylah has a sense of humor and frequently laughs at others' jokes, she's terrible at being funny on purpose. That is, until she discovers the art of being the straight man.

Nylah's blunt. This works in her line of work as it tends to be appreciated by her superiors and the pilots, but in awkward situations it's straight up terrible.

Her happy place is the beach. She loves being in the sand and reading or lying out or watching people. She just adores the beach. It's a crime that the closest one is two hours away.

Nylah babysits Caro + Fanboy's daughter Dalia regularly since she stays on base and is considered The Most Responsible One. Dalia loves her because Nylah treats her like an adult. If she wants ice cream for dinner, that's fine. They'll have pizza & kale chips for dessert. If she complains about not getting a dog, Nylah will help her write a pro's and con's list of getting a dog. They're an iconic duo.

Nylah has a green thumb and the inside of her her apartment looks like a plant shop. When she's called to Top Gun, taking care of her plants is a huge stressor for the friend left to check in on them.

Her guilty pleasure movie is Good Burger.

Nylah and Bob together:

Every time Bob sees Nylah (before they start dating) he adjusts his glasses. This is the first tell that gives it away to the other pilots that he's interested in her (hc courtesy of @daggertwobradshaw).

Payback is the one who convinces Bob to make a move. Of course, everyone else tries, and Phoenix gets close, but Payback points out that he at least owes it to Nylah to be honest with her about how he feels so she can make the choice instead of him deciding whether or not it's worth getting involved for both of them.

Of the two, Bob is the more experienced one in bed. When he discovers this, it blows his mind, and it also turns him into an anxious mess of making sure he doesn't pressure her into anything.

They hardly ever touch in public. Nylah's super uncomfortable with PDA, and Bob would really rather not get teased by everyone else if he can avoid it. If Nylah's a bit tipsy, she might lean her head on his shoulder, and if they're sitting at a table or something, they might hold hands, but it's pretty low key.

Behind closed doors, they're generally always touching. They sit on the couch with Nylah's legs draped over Bob's lap. They'll eat dinner and have their feet touching. It's all casual touches, but it's constant.

When Bob's away, they write letters to each other. Generally they don't send them (they text and FaceTime/call when possible) but when he gets back, they give each other their unsent letters, and it's super cute.

Once when Nylah was really drunk she tried to fight Hangman for teasing Bob and going a bit too far for her liking. She actually managed to lay hands on him until Bob picked her up and threw her over his shoulder, dragging her away as she shouted insults at Hangman. She has never apologized and doesn't plan on it.
