You ARE BRILLIANT YES- Perhaps Ford sees Fidds in soos since soos does seem to like to fix stuff so he takes him under his wing, not exactly father and son figure, but more like an uncle since Stan’s still the father (except soos doesn’t remember, yet). Imagine Stan’s surprise when he sees their fathers fez on soos for the first time, at first it does kinda send spikes of anxiety to see that thing, but then he realizes that honestly it’s good for something so valuable in the pines family to be passed down to such a noble kid.
And the zodiac wheel? CHEFS KISS imagine Stan just coming into view, long hair (I imagine it got a bit harder for him to do haircuts since the barbers kept turning around mid service and kicking him out), black cloak, a determined look on his face. And everyone else (minus the kids and soos) are confused, didn’t ford tell everyone else to run before they got caught? And just they begin to say something he steps on the question mark takes soos and Wendy’s hand and begins to glow like everyone else. Ford goes to ask who he is when the zodiac begins to work ( I did always wonder what exactly was supposed to happen).
Soon everybody finds themselves on the floor (I like the idea that the ax/something only appears to mabel and dipper since they were the ones trying to break the curse, so the curse just lifts without Stan realizing for the first few minutes). Ford finds himself awake, the memories, every interaction he’s had with his brother over the last three decades just rushing to his head a blend of emotions swirling through him. And out of the corner of his eye he see Stan making sure the kids are alright and starts to leave after glancing at ford, when all of a sudden he’s tackled to the ground and thanks stan for everything
Au where Stanley makes I deal with a powerful entity (not bill, maybe the axolotl) to bring ford back safely but in return, and this could go either way I’m not sure which scenario I like better, he either has to cease to exist completely (no one would remember him) or he could work for the entity for a certain amount of time but during those years no one would be able to remember him until he returned.
#but most of all... “you brought me back?!?!” he feels loved and finally figured out the biggest question#AND HE CLINGS TO STAN#he doesn’t want to lose his brother again#he lost him twice and for thirty years he didn’t even truly know#and Stan’s just trying to make sense of what’s happening when he sees the kids looking at him and taking the artifact they used#to communicate with him and smashing it into the ground “guess we don’t really need it anymore#he’s wide eye before wrapping his arms around his brother asking if this is real#Soos looks at Stan before becoming teary eye and thanking him for being there for him#also now I’m thinking maybe Stan didn’t just interact with just his family and soos what if he also#helped other towns people#like for example one time Wendy was getting made fun of for not having a mom so him a total stranger talked to her about it#sure he knew she wouldn’t remember the conversation but he left her feeling lighter and with some chocolate and a stuff animal#gravity falls#Stan pines#ford pines#soos ramirez#wendy corduroy

GF & MvsM - Wanna Talk About Dinos?
This crossover was inevitable. It just works too well. Maybe one day i’ll write a fic about how the folks at Gravity Falls handled the robot-apocalypse. Probably shrugged it off. “Eh. We’ve had worse.” Haha! What if Stan and Ford, cuz they were out sailing, had no clue what happened and when they came back they were like, “Wait, what?”
For now, please enjoy this fic of Aaron making a new friend...
(credit goes to @stephreynaart for her OC Jacob) ~~~~~~~~~~ “Hi, would you like to talk to me about dinosaurs?”
Aaron asked this question more times than he could keep track of, but that wasn’t going to stop him from asking it. It started as a dare from his big sister two years ago, but now it’s a fun hobby. When fifth grade isn’t overwhelming him, scaring him with mountains of homework and horror stories about how hard middle school is going to be, and when he’s run out of YouTube videos to catch up on, he is on the hunt for fellow giant-lizard-lovers like a hungry Ceratosaurus.
“No, okay bye.” But it did get a little tiring to always cross out names and phone-numbers on the phone book with red ink. Hey, a dinosaur of a way to find phone-numbers was appropriate. He read the next number, dialed it, and after a ring or two he asked, “How would you like to talk with me about dinosaurs? No, okay thank you.”
Aaron crossed out another name and sighed, taking a break since he reached the end of a line of numbers. Maybe he should just be grateful for Abbey and accept that no one else wants to talk about the Jurassic Period. Or the Cretaceous Period. Or the Triassic Period. But then a big, old, gray-tinted ad distracted him. He grinned, thinking it would at least be fun to give them a call, and he dialed the number.
Private home phone-numbers were fun, but businesses were also fun! Poor, bored workers would gladly talk to him rather than crabby Karens, and they got paid for it! So Aaron smiled as the phone rang, and he grinned when someone picked up.
“Thanks for calling the Mystery Shack, you’re talking to Mr. Mystery himself! How may I befuddle or bewilder you?”
“Hi! How would you like to talk with me about dinosaurs?”
“Oh, dude! I’d love to, but I’m scheduled for a tour of the Oddity Museum in three minutes.” The man said, and Aaron grinned continuously, because it sounded like Mr. Mystery really wanted to talk with him about dinosaurs. “But hey! Can you hold on for one minute, I think I know a guy!”
“Yeah, sure mister!” And Aaron was greeted by the sound of a catchy jingle about buying t-shirts and mugs and snowglobes. He smiled and wiggled his feet along to the music as he looked outside at the beautiful late-fall afternoon, entertained while he waited.
~~~~~~~~~~
Soos was on the hunt. He planned out the house in his head. Abuelita was taking a nap upstairs, Melody was organizing the upcoming tour, and Stan took Jacob out for ice cream, so he might be…
The owner of the Shack grinned when he stopped at the doorway and saw the man he was looking for, sitting in Stan’s chair, reading a book.
“Uncle Ford!”
The old sailor smiled up at the young man. “Yes, wh-...”
“Do you think you could answer the phone for me? I have a tour and I think this customer’s request is right up your alley.”
“Uh… sure, but w-...”
“Thanks, you’re the best!” And Soos was gone before he could address Ford’s confusion.
Ford was a bit lost, having little to no business with business, but he had learned at this point to trust Soos, so he picked up the phone beside him and was immediately greeted with a sweet, “How would you like to talk with me about dinosaurs?”
Ford grinned and closed his book. “I would love to! All three periods are equally as fascinating to study, but the Triassic contains some of my favorite dinosaurs!”
A young voice gasped on the other line. “Mine, too! Everyone thinks the Jurassic period is so great, and it’s pretty cool, but the Triassic gave us Plateosaurus and the Brachiosaurus!”
“That’s very true! You know, it’s very interesting, maybe depictions don’t include feathers at all, which is a bit frustrating, but perhaps after the news has spread they will incorporate more feathers on merchandise and textbooks.”
“YES! That’s what I wanna do when I grow up, help draw better-accurate dinosaurs!”
~~~~~~~~~~
The phone rang on Sunday. The Shack was closed today, so Stan lazily answered it and was greeted with, “Wanna talk about dinosaurs?”
“Sixer, phone for you!”
Ford ran into the living room, elbowed his twin out of the chair, and took the phone. “Hello again, Aaron! Now, where were we? Right, so Australopithecus. … No, I don’t think… Oh! No, homo habilis was erect, Australopithecus was never fully erect.”
“Maybe he was nervous.” Stan groaned, getting to his feet.
Ford shot him a look as thankfully the young boy on the other end didn’t catch that and happily shared some more fun-facts about homo habilis.
~~~~~~~~~~
While most college students were excited for Spring Break so they could get drunk or lose their virginity, Katie was excited because her family had planned a special secret roadtrip. She was careful to keep up with her family and talk to her parents and brother frequently, but Aaron had a hobby he wasn’t talking about that his parents found out and were thrilled about. Aaron had made another friend.
Rick and Katie did some research and the tourist attraction sounded right up their alley! In the middle of the woods, tons of weird stuff, and a fun roadtrip filled with diners and attractions. They decided to surprise Aaron, and they made up a lie that they would spend Spring Break in California with Katie so she could show her family around San Francisco, when in actuality they would be traveling up the state to the Redwood Highway and see the oddity place, and maybe even allow Aaron to meet his new pen-pal. Or, um, phone-pal.
So after bombarding Katie with hugs the Mitchells threw her luggage into the car and drove off. Aaron turned to Katie and excitingly asked, “So where are we going first? Can we go fix the Golden Gate bridge by painting it gold?”
Katie laughed and ruffled his hair. “Maybe later, right now I wanna show you guys this fun store right outside of town. Here, check out the videos I made for my classes!” And she pulled out some airpods and gave one to Aaron.
“Cool!”
Rick and Linda smirked at each other as they drove north. By the time they reached a little diner in Redding, CA, it was very clear to Aaron that they weren’t in San Francisco anymore. “Come on, just tell me where we’re going!” The boy begged as he fed Monchi a fry.
“The best kind of prizes are the surprises.” Linda quoted.
“Eric, Deborahbot5000, where are we going?”
“Sorry, Aaron, we cannot give that information.” Eric said, he and the other robot sitting politely in their seats, happy to be a part of the social interaction.
“Yes, Mother will bury us if we disobey.” Deborahbot said matter-of-factly.
“What?! No I won’t, sweeties.”
“Won’t you ground us?”
The family laughed and Aaron let the topic go; if he was honest, he loved a good surprise. The big family stopped in a motel just at the California-Oregon border, and the next morning after muffins and coffee and orange juice they were on the road again, passing dozens of trees that made Rick feel at home. Katie happily recorded the trip, trusted to be the documenter for another fun roadtrip, with hopefully not as much mortal peril.
Aaron watched as they left the highway for a simple road, and they passed a big sign. The boy gasped and caught what was happening. “No WAY! Really?!”
“You know, I hear this Mystery Shack even has a Sasquatch.” Rick commented while Linda pulled out a pamphlet from the glove box.
“It says here it’s full of odd things you’ll never see anywhere else, even a dinosaur footprint…”
“Wasn’t there a rumor of there being a Bottomless Pit?” Katie asked, pointing her camera at Aaron to get his reaction.
“Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!” Aaron cheered, hugging his Dad’s neck and kissing his Mom’s cheek.
“Hey, no worries, buddy.” Rick eased, fixing his shewed glasses. “We wanted to see this place, too!”
“Why don’t we eat a quick lunch and then we’ll take the backroad for the attraction? There’s a coupon in here for a diner made from a giant log!”
And so after being served by a pretty blonde teenager at Greasy’s, they drove through town to get to the backroad. Signs made them confident that they were going the correct way, as well as Eric and Deborahbot5000’s GPS. Then as they turned a corner, a big triangle-shaped building came into view. Aaron grinned at the giant sign with a missing letter. People were already leaving, arms full of souvenirs and one or two already wearing their new hats or t-shirts. Once Rick parked in the Free Parking Lot, Aaron spilled out of the car and ran for the shack, but he stopped.
Katie caught up to him and patted his back. “You cool, man?”
Aaron shrugged, holding his hands in front of him and his shoulders up to hide his face a bit. “I-I dunno… What if… What if he doesn’t like me?”
“Hey, I get it.” Katie admitted. “When I first met my friends I was really nervous. I had talked to them online for weeks and I was worried it wasn’t gonna be what it was all cracked up to be, but it was. Your system worked! You found another dino-lover! You earned this moment. Just take in a deep breath and be yourself, cuz you’re a pretty cool dude.”
Aaron smiled up at his big sister. “Thanks.”
Trusting Eric and Deborahbot5000 to watch Monchi and make sure he used the bathroom, the Mitchells went inside the shack. On the porch there was an ice cooler, a sign reading schedule times for tours of the Oddity Museum, a Help Wanted sign, and two rocking chairs with a game of checkers between them.
Inside the store a few customers filled up the gift shop, alongside t-shirts, snowglobes, a vending machine, a door beside ti that read Employees Only, a bookshelf full of comic on one side and old newspapers claiming alien sightings on the other, a fish tank holding a monkey-mermaid, and barrels full of spaceship keychains and dino claws. A new section called Camping Stuff caught Rick’s eye, selling backpacks, lanterns, flashlights, batteries, canteens, and compasses. Katie opened a comic called Lil’Stanley and laughed at the swears, taking a pic and sending it to her friends’ group chat. Linda looked into the barrel full of patches and grinned at all the fun designs, while Aaron stared happily at the mer-monkey.
The Employees Only door opened and closed and Rick watched as a man in a suit, fez, and eyepatch walked up to the lady at the register and kissed her cheek. The woman smiled lovingly and left while the guy who resembled a gopher checked a customer out. Rick waited until the buyer left to approach the register, leaning an arm on the counter.
“Welcome to the Mystery Shack, dude!”
“Thanks! So, this is gonna sound weird, but my son Aaron talks to a guy here about dinosaurs…”
“No way!” The owner interrupted excitedly. “Good to see you, dudes! I’m Mr. Mystery! Wow, you guys came a long way, huh?”
“Nah, only from California. My daughter is attending art school there.”
While the men chit-chatted and Linda joined them, Katie noticed a guy walking up to Aaron and looking at the mer-monkey. She smiled and tried to read the comic without being too nosy, but she kept her senses on her brother.
“Hm, quite fascinating, isn’t it?” The man in the blue hoodie said. “But I think my favorite is the fossilized footprint. Could be Nanuqsaurus hoglundi.”
“The Polar Bear Lizard?” Aaron clarified, touching his chin as he looked at the dino-print, his back to the man he was talking to. “Maybe, but they’re from Alaska. It’s possible plate tectonics did cause some fossils to be relocated here, but it could also be a Nanotyrannosaurus lancensis footprint.”
“The Dwarf Tyrant? Could very well be. Would you like to talk about dinosaurs after your tour?”
Aaron’s eyes widened as the voice was finally familiar to him. He turned and looked up to find an old man smiling up at him. He had fluffy gray hair with a white stripe running around his scalp, wrinkles by his eyes due to smiling, a cleft chin, glasses, and wore a blue hoodie with a maroon sweater underneath. His hands were behind his back and he smiled down at Aaron warmly, while the boy was jittery and overly-excited. He took in a sharp breath and had to fight every muscle to keep from leaping through the screen door.
“H-H-Hi…” He peeped. He cleared his throat and tried again. “Y-Yeah, sure! I’d love to! I’m Aaron! Er, wait, you already knew that.” And he held out a hand to shake.
His phone-pal, Ford, chuckled and got on one knee to be eye-level. “Greeting, Aaron! It’s nice to formally meet you.”
Aaron shook his hand and noticed something. He had six fingers on his right hand. A quick glance told Aaron he also had six fingers on his left hand. Aaron grinned with sparkling eyes at his new friend, while the old sailor smiled warmly at the boy that reminds him of his niece and nephew when they were young.
Gravity Falls S02E20 - Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back the Falls (and 4: Somewhere in the Woods)
It's time for Weirdmageddon 3, the final episode of Gravity Falls. I almost don't want to watch it, the show has become such a part of my week that I'm already feeling the empty space it's going to leave in my heart. But the liveblog must go on, and I _am_ curious about how they are going to defeat Bill and how the symbols are related to it. So, for one final time, let's do this!
Candy looks strangely disappointed that she can't kick some ass.
This is the last time I'll be able to say this so: "Soos Alone" would have been really cool. Imagine Soos saving and hugging strangers in the weird, weird land that is Gravity Falls. * sigh *
Yeah, weird, it's only been... four days? It's not like clothes spontaneously combust after a couple of days. Although, with those madness waves, it wouldn't surprise me if that's exactly what happened.
"Just in case you missed 'Headhunters,' let me introduce myself"
Grenda really makes Post Apocalypse Chic work.
Huh. I thought the unicorn hair would have been effective against Bill's minions.
I'm glad we got a final full length OP, even if it's the "weird" version.
I think I recognize everyone except the kids in the back. Tourists?
There are some jokes that are so dumb that manage to go around and become hilarious.
I was going to write "the end of the world is literally happening right now" but Mabel is just finding out about what happened so it checks out.
Oooh, the hair did work! Maybe it just doesn't stop the eye bat looking in.
...
oh wait, his wife was a raccoon, not an opossum.
Yeah! There's a perfectly good bunker just outside! It even has enough food for everyone.
This is definitely not what I expected from Stan's first long-term interaction with Gravity Fall's weirdness but it fits extremely well his character. Of course he'd find a way to take advantage of the situation.
I mean, Lazy Susan didn't seem too bothered when waking up...
I disagree. Let's rescue everyone and leave those two as warnings against unbridled capitalism.
Narrator: They take the Mystery Shack to Bill
Oh no. No no no no, don't let Stan be... Stan. Who am I kidding, of course he's going to be a big jerk one last time.
This just makes me ache for Bill's musical number he was supposed to have even more.
...why did the sofa go * squish *?
Oh.
Oh. So he's a cartoon trying to become three-dimensional. Hm. I'm not sure how to feel about this revelation. It's an understandable goal for a villain but also... not what I expected from a space-demon. Unless it's more about the "flat world with flat dreams" part, what's less "flat" than all the weirdness he likes?
EDIT: Thanks everyone who sent me a message about me about Flatland!
Why would you even admit to having solved it!? Is this the episode where both Stan's and Ford's faults become more apparent so they can reconcile in spite of them?
Like Bill would be above torture or worse.
He already fell for this once, is he going to fall for it again? He was in a pretty bad place last time, now he has family that doesn't hate him, he was working in a way to save them all... but Bill is really good at picking the exact thing that would work to tempt you.
Finally, rules!
I feel like I need to watch every episode where Bill appeared to make sure he shook everyone's hand, but I suspect he did. Didn't Ford have a metal plate anyway?
Oooh, I know what you're doing! Let me see!
Is that the monster from the lake? I wonder how they are going to get to it if it is.
Soos again with the wise words.
"You see, it's like a cartoon but with swords. Gun-words."
That's even better
I love that no one has spoken French, even the French guy.
I'm hoping for one last good action from Pacifica so I'll let this pass.
I can't believe they made Grenda even more powerful. There are limits that shouldn't be crossed!
What a throwback!
...this would make a _really_ appropriate avatar.
title drop! Also, who had time to make this flag?
Is Pacifica looking jealous at Dipper because he's sitting with Candy? Also, are all the symbols here (besides Stan, Ford and maybe Robbie)? Maybe they'll have their symbols in their sweaters.
Nope.
Oh. Pacifica is the llama! I wonder if I missed an earlier clue about her identity.
EDIT: I did! There was a painting with a llama back in the Northwest Mansion.
I know he's just being Stan about it but it's pretty understandable he feels hurt. Everyone just started planning and no one really asked him anything or made him feel needed. He's always been left aside so it touched a raw nerve, especially considering everyone is doing this for Ford.
I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. Either Stan is going to screw up badly or he's going to somehow save everyone (or both)
I love how much use they are getting out of this giant goat.
Ford really had it rough this show, huh? Stan's life wasn't as good as he'd have wanted but he had a life. Ford lost his chance at bigger things, studied Gravity Fall's weirdnesses so hard he went mad for a bit, then he lost 30 years of his life in another dimension and now he's been tortured for days.
Finally! It's everything I have ever dreamed of. Does the unicorn hair protect _only_ the house?
Huh. I really expected the minions to be defeated by each symbol since their numbers matched.
The music is awesome by the way
Oh no, the last character I saw jumping on top of a flying enemy died.
I feel this battle had more budget than the entire show besides the claymation episode.
Awesome, it _is_ bigger than the house. Ah, Gravity Falls, answering questions I didn't even expect to get answers for.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Eight of them, and Robbie and Ford are in the throne... but why would Wendy or the cop be "Ice"?
There are two types of people.
Was Mabel's baggage a truck full of sweaters?
Can't wait for the episode where Gideon is taking classes from Wendy's dad.
Can't believe they'd kill dozens by compressive asphyxiation.
Awwww
The town's crazy is more mature than both brothers.
And there you go.
I wonder if there was "discourse" about which of the brothers was more wrong after the show ended.
That was fast. One last chance to guess the remaining symbols... and I still have no idea. I'm sure the ice is going to make me facepalm hard after it gets revealed but I really have no idea who they could be besides them probably being in that room.
Oh no, he's going be insufferable.
They are really good at integrating the CG into the show.
SAME
Oh. It has to be Wendy.
There you go.
Oooh.
I feel like the non-literal ones were too unguessable but maybe it was on purpose to avoid having the end result being guessed by the fandom three days after the circle was first shown.
That didn't sound sincere.
OH MY GOD THESE TWO FOR GOD'S SAKE GROW UP
AAAAAAAAAA– oh wait, there's 20 minutes left.
TEN SYMBOLS PLACED AROUND A WHEEL
HAND IN HAND THEY'LL BOND THE SEAL
BUT BREAK THE CHAIN, AND PAY THE COST
THE PROPHECY WILL ALL BE LOST
Well, that's ominous.
Nothing says "evil villain" more than a chorus singing unintelligible lyrics.
With all the hair product Robbie probably uses, he should be lighting up like a match.
That feels perfect for a "oh, but you should"
there you go, it was just too perfect of a setup
I'm a bit confused about Bill's rules. He can't read minds without shaking someone's hand, but he _can_ possess people just like that? Hm.
Oh no... I really like that art style.
I thought Bill was going to go and try to make Mabel feel guilty about what happened but this is a lot better.
personal growth~
But how? They can't defeat him without the circle so the Stans can't run _that_ far away.
Yeah, definitely a kid's show.
This is it! They may not be trapped in a closet until they work out their differences, but a pyramidal cage works just as well.
I get where he's coming from since they have a lifetime of old hurts fossilized into their beings but a lot of Gravity Falls has been dedicated to show how the twins do know better. They may fight and hurt each other but they always end up just slightly closer than before because they talk.
What Stan did was pretty bad, he ruined Ford's best chance of success. And what his family did to Stan was awful, throwing him to the street after a lifetime of considering him the "bad" twin. But if Ford had listened to him, if Stan had been able to get through his own anger to clear up the situation, they wouldn't have spent 40 years alone, with so much resentment that they weren't even able to put aside their differences to save the earth.
But both love the twins so, is that going to be enough to let them work together?
...what if Stan dresses up as Ford? Oooh, what a great way to let each other be in their brother's shoes.
...that's really good advice.
I doubt they care about that.
They switched places! Ford has the weird nose wart that Stan usually has!
The voices do make me doubt myself though. I expected them to be switched too.
Is this the first time Dipper calls Ford "Grunkle"? Aw, it only took lethal risk to do it.
AAAAAA it worked
Wait. Wait, he needs to erase Stan's entire memory to do it? Aw crap.
Oh c'mon, you can just say that and make me cry.
good riddance
When the episode began I mentioned the possibility of someone dying and this is a really interesting way to do it. Without his memory Stan _is_ dead, but it's also just reversible enough that it wouldn't need a complete reset to fix it.
Oh no.
I both hate and love this. I hate it because Stan had to sacrifice everything to finally beat a lifetime of thinking he wasn't worth anything. But he had already sacrificed his entire life to become Stanford and to save him. Did he ever get the sincere thanks he wanted?
I love it because it gives Weirdmageddon real weight. I never expected Stan would lose his memory, it really changed everything. I'm curious if he gets his memories back or if he's going to stay like that, maybe fixing his relationship with Ford (because he won't know any better...)
oh c'mon, don't make me cry again
I mean, McGucket _did_ get his memories back, eventually.
Wait. Waddles? It's working!
AAAAAAA
Denial really is the best policy.
WHAT
They really did confirm it!
Oh Pacifica. I expected she was going to do at least _something_ during everything that happened but nope. Just ol' Pacifica.
It warms my heart that Stan is finally being recognized as the hero he is.
I'm not ready.
Good for you, Bodacious T, good for you.
I wish I had more to write but I'm just a crying mess right now. Stan and Ford finally giving their relationship another chance. Soos getting everything he wanted from the man he admires most. It's too much for me.
I can't believe Gravity Falls is ending. I feel like Mabel not wanting summer to ever end.
That's the biggest mood of all time.
My heart.
I already miss it!
I can't believe they are doing this to my heart.
I'm just laughing while crying. This is my life now.
Damn this show for making me feel things.
AAAAAAAAAAA Soos and Melody! The eye patch!
After a lifetime of regrets they are finally doing what they should have done from the start.
This is so bittersweet. The twins can go back but we won't.
FADED PICTURES BLEACHED BY SUN THE TALE'S TOLD, THE SUMMER'S DONE IN MEMORIES THE PINES STILL PLAY ON A SUNNY SUMMER'S DAY
---
I didn't expect the ending to hit me so hard. I'm sorry for the terseness of most of the second half of this liveblog, once I started crying there wasn't much I could write about anything.
After a year and a half and about 40k words, Gravity Falls is over. I had to stop and stare at nothing for a while after writing the previous sentence. It's hard to believe it's done and there's nothing left to watch in GF's universe. Just a summer adventure forever etched in my brain and my heart.
It's interesting how my enjoyment of the show varied so much just to crush my heart by ending when my love for Gravity Falls was at its max. The first season suffered a bit due to its episodic nature but also because I let more time pass between liveblog sessions so things tended to fade away. But the second season grabbed me and never let me go again, until it was time for everyone to say goodbye to Gravity Falls.
I'm so glad the ending resolved everything there was to resolve. The older twins are giving another chance to their childhood dream, the younger twins learned and grew up immensely during the show and they got to learn to both let go and to look into the future with hope. Soos got the store and the recognition he wanted from his mentor. All the mysteries I remember were revealed or explained, besides the journal's eye piece that ended up being a red herring.
About the only thing I wish was different is for most of the secondary characters to get a bit more depth, but maybe this is just me wanting a "Soos alone" episode, Pacifica to do something, or even Mabel to get more episodes as a main character. Oh, Love God and Roadside Attraction vanishing into a void would be nice too.
I know I'm not being objective and with a colder head I'd be able to identify more things about the show I'd like to be different but this blog has always been about my first reaction to things and my first reaction to Gravity Falls's ending is just tears and love.
Thank you all for reading and being so awesome the entire time by answering my questions, liking and sharing my posts and letting me know your own thoughts about the episodes. This experience would have been totally different without all of you.
I'm starting to ramble so I'm going to stop writing. Just a couple of remaining thoughts:
- I know there's a physical journal explaining some of the remaining mysteries of the show so I may check that out when I manage to get my hands on it.
- I'm posting She-Ra in the next few days (spoilers: I loved the first episode), so maybe stick around if you like that show.
- How appropriate that this ended up being posted on the 3rd anniversary of this site. ❤️
I think that's all so thank you again for reading while I watched this amazing show! Until next time!
Get to Know Us: Moon’s BTS Edition
Hello Starlights! The admins and I wanted to post this “BTS questions/ Get to know us” thing that Kay found somewhere, so you get to know us better and know who is behind this blog! Each one of the admins will (probably) post one^^ I’m going to it today:D It’s quite long and since I don’t want to spam everyone, it will be under the ‘keep reading’ bar^^
How and when did you get into BTS? I got into BTS at the start of 2016 and discovered them thanks to a friend who introduced me to Exo/K-pop in general and I saw them in the recommended section of an Exo Video:) (Thanks for dragging me down this wormhole, G(:(:(: )
Did you make new friends thanks to BTS?
Yes! First of all, I made amazing friends in the three other admins, I wouldn’t trade them for anything<3 I also talked to some other people regularly, but I don’t think we could be considered real friends.
Has Bangtan influenced your life in any other way?
The boys helped me an enormous amount with my depression and anxiety, I don't want to know where I would be without them. Top 10 Songs?
Uhh, that’s a difficult question! Tomorrow, First Love, Baepsae, Butterfly, 2nd Grade, Hold me tight, Lost, Lie, Forever Young and Ddaeng^^ Favorite album?
As hard as the choice is, It has to be Wings|You never walk alone. The member's individual songs really touched me because it revealed parts/emotions that we haven’t seen before.
Favorite lyrics?
No doubt, it’s tomorrow or First Love. I don’t even wanna reveal how many times I cried because of them since I relate too much.
School trilogy, HYYH era or WINGS?
If it’s about the album then WINGS, but if it’s about the era in general then it’s HYYH for me^.^
Which Cypher part do you like best?
Cypher Part 3: Killer
Your favorite AGUST D and RM track?
For AGUST D it’s either ‘Tony Montana’ or ‘the Last’ and for RM it’s ‘Always’ :D
Your favorite cover of BTS? (Doesn’t matter if it’s one of Jungkook, Taehyung, Jin, etc.):
Honestly? Any of JK covers. The songs he chooses to cover are just beautiful and most of them fit into the music type I listen to if I don’t listen to K-Pop^^
Is there any BTS song that has a special meaning for you?
Like I mentioned, both Tommorrow and First Love are incredibly important for me. Tomorrow helps me when my struggle with anxiety and depression gets tough and First Love perfectly described something in my Life, except that for music, it was equestrianism/ working with horses. Otherwise everything is exactly the same.
Your favorite live performance?
The Melon Award BS&T and Fire Performance is my favorite so far^^
Your bias?
These two cuties!
At first, I was an extremely loyal Yoongi stan, but I have been struggling for almost 6 months now to choose between Yoongi and Jimin:/ But since another admin biases Yoongi, I’m gonna go with Jimin if I had to choose between these two^^
Your favorite ships/interactions?
Recently I’ve been a sucker for TaeGi and Jikook, but I also love Yoonmin and Namjin. And Hoseok is such an angel that I just ship him with whoever would make him the happiest. Now, I personally don’t think these ships are real and only friendship until the bands confirms them, so they are more like bromance for me^^
Favorite fansite(s)?
I don’t visit fansites often tbh :,) But I read most of the news and rumors on soompi, if that counts!
What is your favorite hair color for each member?
In general combining all the members, my favorite has to be the hyyh era, but individually:
Jin: I really like black hair!
Jiminie: ... I can’ decide! So far there hasn’t been a color that I didn’t like (*cough* except for the blonde highlights/strands in Fake Love *cough*), so I can’t choose a favorite >.<
Tae: I really liked the DNA m/v hair color (the light silver/grey/really light brown (i’m super blind so I'm not too sure don't judge me))) or any lighter color while having soft curls:) But also any color in combination with a headband tbh
Kookie: With JK I like medium/ light brown (YNWA era) but I like any shade brown or black on him
Hobi: The shade of brown in the run mv/ hyyh era!
Yoongi: My favorite has to be the mint color! But the blonde hairstyle in the Agust D m/v’s were just ruuuude *o*
Namjoon: Either the purple/grape (I'm sorry) color or the honey hair color!
Whose fashion style do you like the most?
I really like Jimin’s fashion style, not because he is my bias but because it’s similar to what I usually wear:)
Which member matches with your personality the most?
If it’s most similar then I would say Jimin, but about best fitting together it would be Taehyung^^
Who do you think would be your best friend in BTS?
I think it would be Jungkook:)
Which member caught your attention first?
If I’m honest, at first I really liked Tae, but after a week or two Yoongi was the one who got my attention!
Name the feature you like the most about each member!
Yoongi’s cute Gummy smile; The way Jungkooks eyes crinkle when he laughs; How Hoseok always looks so welcoming and friendly when he smiles; Tae’s unique double and mono-lid eyes; How caring Jin is, regardless if the people are members or not (the elevator prank for example); What an amazing Leader Namjoon is; How shy Jimin still is sometimes, because he is absolutely adorable in those moments
Your favorite photo of each member?
I don’t really have favorite pictures, but I love any picture, regardless of photoshoot or derp pic ^^ (Except for the whitewashed ones! Whoever whitewashed them, ur moms a hoe) But I also really love this picture/edit:
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Jin?
How caring this angel is and how much I love his jokes!
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Yoongi?
How admirable his passion for music is<3
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Namjoon?
Honestly? His seaweed dance XD (Lara is going to kill me when she sees this) But in seriousness: How glad I am that he is the leader^^
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Hoseok?
How he always lightens the room when he enters a room, our little ray of sunshine:)
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Jimin?
Squishy Mochi<3
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Taehyung?
How naive (not in a bad way) and puppy-like he is
What immediately comes to your mind when you think of Jungkook?
Memes (I’m so not sorry)
Rank the dance line in terms of favorite dancing style!
Jimin - Hoseok - Jungkook. Every single member is amazing at dancing, but the reason I placed Junkook last isn’t because of how he dances, but because of his emotions during dancing. He is amazing, don’t get me wrong, but I think in Jungkooks case it’s more talent than passion. While watching Jimin and Hoseok dancing you can feel how every single fiber of them is filled with passion, but I don’t get that emotion while watching Jungkook. And the reason I placed Jimin first is that I like his Style just a tiny bit better than Hoseoks, but that’s just preference^^
Rank the vocal line in terms of favorite singing style!
Jimin - Jungkook - V - Jin. I really like the uniqueness of Jimins voice, which is why I placed him there. And I always adored Jungkooks voice, especially in his English covers. With V and Jin I had some serious struggle, but I think I prefer Tae’s dark voice a tiiiiny bit more (/ω\)
Rank the rap line in terms of favorite rap style!
Yoongi - Hoseok - Rap Monster. I could listen to Yoongi rapping 24/7 (*^.^*) I placed Hoseok middle because I have a lot of fun listening to him, he just has so much energy in his voice, which I find rather unique^^ And I also love RM rapping, especially because his voice fits both calmer rapping as well as spitting fire! I can’t really decide so the order may not be that accurate
Who’d win in a dance battle? Jin or Namjoon?
If it’s spontaneous I think Jin would win, but If It was planned Namjoon would win^^
Jungkook’s thighs, abs, arms or veins?
Thighs!
Holly, Jjangu, Soonshim, Micky or Rapmon?
Soonshim, I love her soo much! She is so adorable, I can’t even describe it!
American Hustle Life, Rookie King, Bangtan Gayo or RUN BTS?
RUN BTS^-^
What variety show do you want BTS to be featured in?
I don’t really watch variety shows, so I would have to pick whatever ones make BTS happy^^
What accessory would you bring for a fan sign and for which member?
This question made me speechless tbh. I really don’t know.... I once saw rings which had ‘always’ on the inside which was raised so it would imprint on the finger after wearing it for some time, maybe one for each member so the ‘always’ is directed to BTS itself...
Have you ever been to a fansign or concert of BTS?
Sadly, no >.<
Have you ever sent a fan letter?
No, I’m too shy and I’m really bad at writing letters (unless they’re allowed to be suuuper long, I love writing long letters <3)
Did you ever join a fansite’s birthday project?
Like I mentioned I’m not really active on fansites, so I never joined one or missed them, but I plan to join projects in the future!
Are you a member of the fancafe?
Yes, but I’m not really sure how to use it (/ω\)
Do you talk openly about BTS in front of friends and family?
Yes! I managed to get my mom to like BTS and K-Pop in general (she knows the names/members of BTS and NCT and we listen to it regularly because I have control over what music runs in the car^-^). One of my best friends is a Kpopper as well, so we talk about it, but I don’t shy away from talking about it to other friends:D
If you were given the chance to say one sentence to all of them, what would you tell them?
I am so proud of how far you have come, you really do deserve everything and more.
If money, distance and the like weren’t a problem, what kind of gift would you give them to their birthday?
Buy them some sort of Cruise trip or any other holiday because my poor babies need to rest.
What subunit would you look the most forward to?
Yoongi and Jimin rap subunit. Not because they are my biases, but DAMN, did you guys see that Tony Montana stage?! I need more!
Do you prefer Hip-Hop BTS or the more Pop-ish BTS?
Hip-Hop^^
Do you watch their appearances on shows live or do you wait for subs?
I usually listen to the live appearance in the background (I love the Korean language) and then watch the video when the subs are out!
What kind of concept would you like to see in the future?
A really creepy themed concept, like the game ‘Alice: Madness Returns’ or Tim Burton for example. I’m not sure why, but I would love to see something like this!
Your thoughts on BigHit?
BigHit is one of the better Entertainments in my opinion. Yes, the boys are exhausted but compared to other Entertainments where the Idols are in living hell *cough* SM *cough*, they treat them fairly well. Only thing I would love to see are more Breaks for the boys^^
Oops, this got longer than expected! XDI hope you liked this post, I’m guessing the other admins will do it in the future as well^^
Authorial intent, smauthorial intent. Ford was a mediocre to abysmal brother; he took Stan for granted. Pre-Weirdmaggedon, the amount of brotherly love, dedication, support, and loyalty Ford showed couldn't make a single paragraph. Stan's was a mile-high stack of single-spaced pages with three bad marks. It was disgustingly uneven. I'm glad Ford had enough sense and decency to finally realize that and begin to make up for it. Sure, Stan had to sort of die first, but it's something.
Go fuck yourself with a cactus.
Seriously. Go fuck yourself. With a cactus.
You’d cut ties too if you thought your brother was an insensitive jerk who didn’t care about you at all. If you wouldn’t I pity your soul and pray no one close to you actually betrays you like that.
That’s literally the root of Stan and Ford’s problems, by the way. Each of them thinks the other no longer loves them.
Was Ford wrong about Stanley not caring about him? Yeah, more wrong than he was about literally anything, and yes I am including the time he thought Bill was a nice guy in that statement. Did he hurt Stan? Well I ain’t saying he didn’t.
But if you thought the one person you could count on, the one person who was in your corner, purposely sabotaged you in order to manipulate you into staying with them instead of pursuing your dreams, you wouldn’t want to be around them anymore.
And don’t give me that “brotherly love, dedication, support, and loyalty”shit, Stanley literally left Ford to die during Weirdmageddon. He tried to burn Ford’s work, he was the one who pushed Ford in the portal in the first place, and believe you me, if Ford had done any of that shit we’d never hear the end of it. If Ford had opened up the portal for Stan while Stan was in the middle of a fight to the death with Bill, literally microseconds away from defeating him once and for all, everyone would be all “Oh I can’t believe Ford did that he couldn’t have waited two seconds?!” You want a list of Stanley’s sins? Fine! Here’s a list of Stanley’s sins! Or at least, what they would be if he was Stanford instead of Stanley! Seriously! The ones in bold are complaints I’ve heard about Ford.
Career criminal. Literally a career criminal.
Has no regard for other people’s possessions or emotions. (That’s a direct quote by the way)
Tried to pass his dirtbag dad’s emotionally stunted toxic masculinity onto Dipper because he’s projecting his brother issues onto his niece and nephew
Dismissed Ford’s feelings after the perpetual motion machine incident (I don’t think Stan was actually trying to manipulate Ford but I do think that that’s the message Ford got)
Has stated that he’d be fine with it if Ford literally got brain damage
Turns his brother’s house into a freakshow. Yeah, the same brother with the lifelong insecurity regarding his polydactyly and a noted disdain for freakshows.
Got so irrationally angry when Ford burned him I mean geez it was only an accident there are other skin cells, am I right? (Do you see what I’m fucking getting at here??????????)
Disowned Ford the moment he was sure Ford wasn’t grateful Stan had saved him.
Endangered Dipper and Mabel for the sake of his own sciency mumbo jumbo (SOUND FAMILIAR)
Outright lied to pretty much the entire world.
Was mean to Fiddleford, called him possum-breath, etc,
Despite being homeless once himself, never helps Fiddleford to not live in the dump.
Completely disregards the fact that Ford was homeless for thirty years
Caused Ford to be homeless for thirty years
Left Ford for dead during the apocalypse
Never went to search for Dipper and Mabel (or Wendy and Soos fro that matter) during the apocalypse
Wanted to eat the gnomes, he’s so mean to those supernatural creatures!
Always wants to play the hero, never satisfied when someone else takes the spotlight really. people think that about ford, instead of coming to the logical conclusion that Ford does the hero stuff because he doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt. he’s fine letting others take the spotlight he’s not even in it for that.
Let his petty grudge get in the way of completing the zodiac
Do you see what I’m getting at here, anon? Because the very fact that I’ve even compiled this list in an effort to show why the people who hate Ford are absurd, if for no other reason than the fact that if they hate Ford they must also hate Stanley as they share the same flaws in many instances, means that inevitably I’m going to get fucking hounded by more anons like you who apparently didn’t watch the same fucking show or read my god damn post. Because I’ve fucking been through this shit before.
It happens every fucking time. And you want to know why? Ford is fucking god damn autistic coded, or at the very least shares multiple traits that are also shared by autistic people, and he’s a fucking abuse survivor who doesn’t behave.
It’s been over a year since he showed up and yet, I still have to fucking wade through shit like this:
In the god damn stanford pines tag. Still. It’s rarer now but Jesus fucking Christ, it’s still happening. I don’t care what your fucking headcanons are this shit is literally ableist.
Stan and Ford were both wrong about each other and they did some awful things to each other but you know what?
Ford never stopped thinking about Stan, even when he was mad at him
Stan didn’t give up on Ford for thirty years
They both constantly risk their lives for their family, including each other, even if they’re not getting along.
And it’d be fucking fine if people just didn’t like him! If they just preferred other characters because we got to know them more or if it was just a personal preference that wasn’t rooted in real-world biases!
But people like you piss me off because everyone and their mother reblogs posts about how they want more autistic characters and more characters who are abuse survivors but when one finally fucking shows up y’all pull this bullshit! Where you say you hate them because
“They’re not empathetic enough” “They’ve got poor social skills but not in a quirky or cute way” “They don’t interact with people and they only really talk about their interests”
because
“Why can’t they just get over it” “[Character] and [their abuser] make such a cute couple why did [character] have to go ruin the fun” “They never trust anyone” “Some other character had it worse” “[Character] should be more grateful to the people who saved them!”
And then!!! Y’all have the gall to wonder why there aren’t more autistic characters and abuse survivor characters! Again! After you’ve pulled this shit where you’ve copied and pasted from Wikipedia!
What could Ford have done to fucking appease you people? You hated him when he sacrificed himself for Dipper, you hated him when he asked Dipper to stay, you hated him when he interacted with Mabel, you hated him when he didn’t, you hated him when he was mad at Stanley and you hated him after he made amends.
Fuck, sometimes I feel like if Ford had fallen to his knees and groveled at Stan’s feet at the beginning of A Tale of Two Stans, maybe then y’all wouldn’t have hated him.
As much.
Dipper vs Bill (Gravity Falls)
Dipper and Mabel were ecstatic. Stan and Ford were going to be porting in a harbor the next town over from them, and the young teens' parents were letting them go stay with them. They were going to be spending the night on the boat and the next day sailing around in it. "Oh, my gosh, Dipper! I'm flipping out here!" Mabel cheered excitedly as they made it to the docks to start looking for the right boat. "I know, right?" Dipper agreed as he scanned the area. "It's been almost half a year since we left Gravity Falls. Let's see here- it should be- there!" He exclaimed as he pointed to the vessel that said, "Stans O' War" in sloppy paint letters on the back of it. "I told them they should have let me paint it." Mabel said as she eyed the words with a slight disapproving look. "Well, it's their ship, so they were the ones that should put the name on the back. Besides, I'm pretty sure that they wanted to make sure that you wouldn't make it glittery. Sparkles wouldn't really go with the tough guy sailor vibe they're trying to get across." Dipper answered with a shrug before knocking on the door to the cabin. "What? That's not a thing!" Mabel started with a huff, "Plenty of sailors like sparkly stuff! They're always looking for treasure and what not." She placed her hands on her hips to stand akimbo as her head leaned toward Dipper with a disbelieving look on her face. Before her brother could answer, the conversation was interrupted by the door opening. "Kids! How've ya been?" The gruff voice of Stan erupted from the doorway. "Gruncle Stan!" The twins yelled happily as they almost tackled him in a hug. "Hey, I'm gettin' too old to be ambushed like this." He chuckled as he regained his balance. "What were you two goin' back and forth about out there anyways?" Stan asked them as they went the rest of the way into the cabin. Mabel gasped as she remember the debate that she and Dipper were just having. "Oh, yeah! Gruncle Stan, do sailors like sparkles?" She asked as she tilted her head to the side as she waited for an answer. "Kid, I don't know where you heard about that, but you're too young to hear any more." Stan replied with a slightly concern face. "Hi, Great Uncle Ford!" Dipper called to the other man sitting at a desk in the corner. "Well, hello!" was all he replied before jotting something else in the journal on the desk in front of him. Once he was done he placed a book mark down on the page, closed the journal, and turned around so he could actually be part of the group that was now in the small cabin of the boat. "So, what should we do now that we're all back together again?" Stan asked after they had all talked and caught up a bit. "Let's go to town! We can window shop since Gruncle Stan is too cheap to actual shop!" Mabel said excitedly as she pointed out the porthole and down the docks toward the town. Almost as soon as she suggested that, Ford got a look on his face that everyone could tell meant he had major reservations about the idea. Of course Stan was the first one to confront his brother. "Alright, Poindexter, what's with the face?" He asked with slight irritation in his voice. "Stanly, we just got into port, and I think it would be a better idea to stay and rest here rather than run ourselves ragged by going all over town." Ford replied as he adjusted his glasses. "No," Stan started back, the irritation showing more now than it previously was, "you just want to be a hermit and not interact with people as per usual, but that's not fair to the kids. We're gonna be on this boat all day tomorrow, so let's go into town today." Suddenly there was a loud crash out the deck, and the sounds a man on the dock panicking. "What the-" Stan barked as he went to the small porthole on the cabin wall to see what was happening. "You've gotta be kidding me! That idiot just spilled a bucket of somethin' all over the deck!" And with that Stan was out the door to have a few choice words with the man outside. Ford walked to the door and closed it. "Kids, we need to talk while Stan isn't around. Besides, I'm fairly certain you shouldn't be hearing the majority of what he would be saying." He said before turning to them. Mabel and Dipper got a little laugh at the comment that their uncle made about his brother, but then stopped and became very attentive when they saw the somber look on his face. "Look, there's been something going on with Stan, and it's becoming increasingly more worrisome. You see, he's started to regain his memories at an increasingly fast rate." The twins looked at each other as if to ask each other why that was a bad thing. Ford saw them, and answered their question before they had a chance to verbally ask him. "I know, that sounds like it would be a good thing. The problem comes from the fact he's not remembering thing like family, friends, or anything like that sort. It all has to do with the supernatural encounters that have happened over the past year. At first I thought that it was harmless, but then I realized that there is the potential to be a problem. No, a catastrophe!" Both Mabel and Dipper knew that if Ford thought there was going to be something going south then there was little chance that he was wrong. Ford took a moment to collect his thoughts before continuing. "The one of the things I'm trying to keep him from remembering is anything to do with Bill. Bill was contained inside of his mind, and I think that the only thing keeping him prisoner there is the fact that Stan doesn't remember him. If we aren't careful Bill could be released, so that's why I decided to port here and why we shouldn't go to town. I'm trying to avoid any sort of situation that might trigger any memories involving that dream demon. We all have a tendency to attract odd things and situations, so we need at least some form a isolations from largely populated area in order to be sure to not encounter something." Both Dipper and Mabel understood what their uncle was talking about and wouldn't want anything to happen to Stan, or let Bill Cipher be free to roam the earth, but that didn't mean they weren't bummed about being stuck on the boat instead of actually getting to go do something with their uncles. They were also aware that if there was a mess on the deck then they were probably going to have to help clean it up. "Ugh! I can't believe that we came out here just to do chores! I thought this thing was called, "Stans O' War," not, "Stans O' -Bore-!" Mabel said as she threw her hands in the air in frustration after Ford had walked out of the cabin (she was upset with the situation, but didn't want to make him feel bad). "Mabel, that pun was awful." Dipper said flatly to his sister. She stomped over to a chair in the corner, threw herself down with a huff, and practically yelled, "This situation is awful!" Later that night after the deck was cleaned and the four of them had talked and laughed about many different things, (a bit about Gravity Falls, but the subject quickly turned to all of Stan's misadventures during his younger years), the kids went to sleep in the cabin while the two men went out to talk on the deck for a little bit longer. Dipper started out sleeping fine. It was a calm, dreamless sleep. It was when he started to dream that things started to get complicated. He suddenly found himself back at Mystery Shack, the way it looked before Soos took over, (not that Soos changed many things, but there were differences). "What the heck?" He almost whispered as he looked around at the surrounding forest. With nothing seeming to really catch his interest outside, Dipper decided that he would go into the actual shack to see what was in there. Once inside, he confirmed everything was still exactly the way it had been over the previous summer. The shop, the museum area, the kitchen, the living room, all of it was the same. "Well, maybe if I can't sleep in real life, then I can at least go to bed here." He huffed, still feeling some of the tiredness of real life in his dream. After making the small trek up to Mabel and his room, he flopped down onto his bed and closed his eyes. While he lay there trying to fall asleep, a thought suddenly hit him. "Wait, if I have the Mystery Shack all to myself, then that means that I could go look through all of Great-Uncle Ford's lab!" He was excited to say the least. He knew that it was a dream, and that he would probably be making up half of the things down there, but he didn't care. It was more the thought of being able to do so in the first place the excited him. When he sat up to go back downstairs, something caught his eye. The window between the two beds had what looked like sunlight coming through it. It wasn't clear sunlight like you would see during the morning or afternoon, though. It had a light orange, almost yellow tint to it, like one would see at sunset. That didn't make any sense though. Because of the placement of the window the sun only shone through it directly when it was early morning, there would be no way that the light of a sunset could get through. There was somethin else that made this whole thing seem off. Aside from the fact that the light wasn't there when he first entered the room, the fact that there wasn't light outside was to be taken into account as well. It wasn't like it was pitch black or even night time, but everything seemed like it was more of a picture of things that were actually there. Come to think of it, everything was sort of washed out, almost black and white looking aside from the plane splashes of color here and there like when he was in- "Oh, no!" Dipper almost whispered as he quickly backed away from the lights that he now recognized as a yellow triangle on the floor. "Oh, yes, Pine Tree!" An all too familiar voice replied as the light compacted into a single area on the floor that he started floating in the air. "Ah-ha-ha-ha-ha! I can't believe you thought I was gone for good." Bill said as he turned around and stretched his arms and legs as his trademark hat materialized above his head. Dipper was speechless. If Bill was trapped inside of Stan's mind then how was it that he was here? "Great question, Pine Tree." Bill responded without even needing to hear it ask. This bugged Dipper to no end because he was sure that Bill could find the thoughts of the person who's mind he was in. That could mean that he was in Dipper's mind now, or that he had somehow gotten the ability to read everyone's mind, neither of which sounded like good things. Dipper decided that the best corse of action would be to push theories aside for the moment, and ask Bill about it. Weather or not he was going to get a straight answer from the demon was another fact entirely, but there was no harm in trying. "I didn't even ask you anything. How would you even know that I had a question?" Dipper asked with clear frustration in his voice. "Aw, come on!" Bill started as he leaned back like he was lounging in a chair. "It was written ALL over your face, which you should see right now by the way because it is priceless!" He laughed as he pointed to the topic of conversation. Dipper turned his face in an effort to get away from Bill, but Bill simply floated over so he could still be seen. "Look, kid. You wanna know how I got out of Stanly's mind? The answer is: I haven't." Bill said with an ever so slight hint of annoyance showing through. "But, how are you here if you're still stuck in Stan's mind?" Dipper asked, more confused now than ever. "As sharp as ever, kid!" Bill said as he snapped his fingers and some daggers appeared next to him. Dipper dove out of the way quickly, narrowly missing the daggers as they came flying in his direction. One of them caught his sleeve, and put a shallow cut on his upper arm. "Anyways, I have a proposal for you." Bill said as he adjusted his bowtie. Dipper didn't answer him because he was too busy attending to his arm. "Look, I'm willing to let YOU let ME into your mind, like permanently. You see right now I'm just projecting my subconscious into your subconscious. It's like that one movie with the guy from the broken ship!" Before Dipper could answer, a large, unseen force that sounded like someone playing an entire brass section in his ears sent him flying across the room, and slammed into a wall. Dazed, short on breath, ears ringing, and arm still hurting, the young teen was more aware than ever that the triangular figure in front of him was not happy the see him. "Ah-ha-ha-ha! What's wrong, Pine Tree?" Bill cackled as he looked at the beat up boy that was slumped over on the floor in front of him. "Get over yourself, Bill." Dipper mumbled as he stood up with a hiss because the pain that he was in before he continuing in a clearer tone. "Why would I ever let you all the way into my mind? I don't want you here to this extent!" Bill rolled his eye and crossed his arms. Boy, humans could be so annoying! Especially if their last name was Pines! All that aside, he still had big plans ahead and he wouldn't let them ruin it from him. "Well, you see," Bill started as he floated closer to where Dipper was, "I want a do over on Weirdmageddon. Who knows, maybe I'll even go with that other name you guys had for it. What was it again?" Bill turned back to the window in the room as he lost himself in thought trying to remember what the other name that the people of Gravity Falls gave to his brief reign. Dipper took this opportunity make for the door and get away from his tormentor. He went as quietly as he could, but was more concerned about getting out of the room quickly. He was right by the back door when Bill yelling in realization rang through the house. "Odd-pocalypse!" Bill said with a snap of his fingers and turned around to see that Dipper was no longer there. "What the-PINES!" He roared as he became gigantic and started to glow red, his eye turned pitch black and the pupil within turned blood red. The latter of his exclamations was what Dipper heard. There was no time for subtlety now, and Dipper bolted out the door in an effort to put some space between he and Bill, even though he know that it probably wouldn't do much good. He looked around briefly to try to get some sort of plan. Whilst looking, Dipper's eyes caught sight of the back porch. "That hole I found with Gompers! I can dive into the lab, and hide there, or maybe even try to find something to help me!" He thought as he ran towards the spot in question. Dipper bounced off of the lab wall opposite of where he entered and tumbled on the floor as he landed. He quickly got himself up and into the other room. The only people that knew about the entry to the lab were Ford, Gompers, and himself. Bill couldn't have found out from Ford because he couldn't get into his mind, and, unless Bill had decided to invade the thought process of a goat, there would be no way that he would know where Dipper was. Even so there was the possibility that he could find the hole and figure out where Dipper went. There was only one solution to this situation, he needed to find something to defend himself from Bill. There was the usual things that could be found in the lab, but most of the things that could have been of use to him were under lock and key. Suddenly, he saw a jar with something that he knew he could use. He ran over to the shelf that the jar was on and grabbed it. It was just in the nick of time too, because as soon as he did Bill's voice rang through the lab. "Well, well, well! I've got to say; you really had me going there for a minute." Bill fazed through the ceiling a short distance from where Dipper was standing. "You know, I'm not even sure how you got down here so quickly, but apparently you found some way, so colored me impressed!" Bill finger gunned in towards Dipper, who dodged out of the way even though nothing actually came towards him. He didn't want to take any chances with Bill. "Wow, jumpy aren't we, Pine Tree?" Bill said with a degrading look. "Anyway, I didn't get to answer your question earlier. You want to know why you should let me into your mind? The answer's real simple. You see, I'm not too powerful in Stan's mind because of all the barriers that erasing his memory has put up. I need to be in someone else's mind so I can get out." Bill gave his reason like it was a totally justified thing, like Dipper should trust him regardless of what he had done in the past. "No way! I'd never let a maniac like you into my mind OR into the world!" Dipper snapped angrily as he pointed at Bill in a manor that seemed to be calling him out for everything he had done. Bill's expression changed from amused back to angry. "I wouldn't get cocky, Pines! You aren't the only one I can try to persuade." Bill's threat didn't frighten Dipper, who immediately knew the best response. "You can't get into Ford's head! That's just an empty threat!" Dipper beamed with pride at the intelligent comeback he just delivered. Bill, on the other hand, would have thought the answer amusing if he wasn't already past the point of wanting to kill the teen with every fiber of his being. "I'm well aware, and I wasn't talking about Ford!" The demon yelled, his voice starting to distort. Dipper stood there bemused for a moment, but not for long before he realized exactly who Bill was talking about: Mabel. There was no way that he would let this triangular freak do anything to his sister. Without any hesitation or thought of strategy whatsoever, Dipper threw the jar that he had been holding. It flew into the air, hit the ceiling, and shattered. "You idiot! You missed-"Bill's taunt was cut off when the cycloptopus that was in the now broken jar jumped from the ceiling and straight onto Bill's eye. This gave Dipper time to form an actual plan. He tried to think of an option whilst Bill was bouncing about from wall to wall screaming profanities. There would only be a limited time to do so before Bill got the cycloptopus off and regenerated his eye, so he had to think quickly. "There are plenty weapons and objects of Great-Uncle Ford's that I could use down here, but they're all locked somehow." Dipper thought as he looked around at the different cases and shelves that were around him. "There's no way I can get to any of these things! The glass is bullet proof, so I can't break it. And, for the life of me, I can't think of any of where he would have put the keys or what his security codes would be! I-" Dipper stopped suddenly; part of his last inter-ramblings making him remember something that would have been extremely helpful earlier. "I'm in my own mind right now!" He actually said out loud because of how excited he was. When Bill was finally able to get the nasty monster off of his eye, and regenerated said body part a few minutes later, he was met with a rude surprise. He was sent flying across the room by a burst of energy. When Bill was finally able to see what was going on he saw Dipper standing on the other end of the room with a rather fancy looking laser gun. He was taken aback to say the least. Not that he should have been, but the fact that the Pines family without fail managed to become even more annoying almost every time he saw them was almost more than he could bare sometimes. "Bill, get out of my mind." Dipper said firmly, working desperately to keep his voice in check so it didn't crack like it was known to at times. "Oh, right. Like I'm going to listen to a pathetic whelp like you." Bill sneered as he got himself back up into the air. "Yes, you are! This is my mind and you're not welcome here! Also you're not as powerful as you once were, so you can't fight me on this!" Dipper yelled in an attempt to assert his dominance. "Listen, Pine Tree, if you think you're going to kick me out with that thing-" Bill pointed to the gun in Dipper's hands and then stopped. "Where DID you even get that from?" The demon asked with frustrated confusion in his voice. "I got it from the lab." Dipper answered curtly, not wanting to go into detail. "You did not!" Bill said more angry than confused this time. "I've been down here plenty of times, and I never saw anything like that!" He continued while his eye started to turn black and red once again. "Will you just shut up and get out of here!" Dipper yelled angrily as he shot the gun again, this time holding down the trigger so a continuos stream of energy shot out. The longer Dipper healed down the trigger, the brighter the room got. Finally, it got to a point where he couldn't se anything, and he had to let go because the intensity of the light was hurting his eyes. When the light had faded, Dipper's eyes had adjusted, and the dust had settled Bill was gone. There wasn't even a trace of the demon left. With a sigh, Dipper made his way up the stairs of the lab, and into the main part of the house. His idea was to go back up to his room, but he did not have the energy to even make it that far. He settled on going and sitting on Stan's big chair in the living room. Once there, Dipper practically threw himself in the general direction of where he wanted to go. Luckily, he actually landed where he intended, and just scooted himself the rest of the way onto the chair after a little while of lying there limply. Once seated properly on the chair, he let out a sigh of relief. "I can't believe that I actually got rid of Bill. I thought it would be harder." Dipper thought out loud as he sat there in the quiet. He knew that something like an imaginary laser gun wouldn't have really done anything to Bill in the past, but it seemed to work this time. Come to think of it, Bill said that he was merely projecting himself from Stan's mind, so maybe that made him weaker than usual. Right as he started to fall asleep, an all too familiar laugh made him wake up instantly. "Ah-ha-ha-ha! You really thought that you could make me go away that easily? Wow, Pine Tree, that's unbelievably stupid, even for you!" Bill's voice seemed as though it was actually coming from everywhere at once. Dipper looked all around the room the see where his adversary could be, but everything looked like how it should. He went through the entire house, upstairs and down until the only rooms left were Ford's room and the bathroom. He decided the check the latter first. When he got there he froze in horror when he saw himself in the mirror. He was extremely beat up looking, but that's not what frightened him. The true horror came from the fact that cut on his arm that he got earlier was now Bill Cipher's eye. It looked every which direction until it made contact with Dipper's. "You'll never get rid of me, kid! I'll always be there to ruin your family's lives! I'll always be there! Always!" Bill continued to yell threats and other ominous phrases while the veins in Dipper's arm that were by the eye progressively turned black. Not being able to take anymore, Dipper passed out as the black substance started to spread throughout the rest of his body. Dipper sat up with a gasp, and was relieved to find himself back on the boat. Quickly, he looked over at his arm where the eye had been, and was even more relieved when it wasn't there. He was starting to settle down his breathing when he heard Ford from his desk at the other side of the cabin. "Dipper, are you alright?" He asked as he walked over to the young teen. "Yeah, I- where's Gruncle Stan?" Dipper asked, not wanting to be the one to talking about Bill too much in front of him and make him remember too much. "Stan's still out on the deck. Why?" Ford asked slightly perplexed. When he was sure that the coast was clear, Dipper told his uncle what had just happened. Ford sat there in a very stoic manner as he listened and analyzed what Dipper was saying. "He said that if I wouldn't let him into my mind that he would go after Mabel." Dipper said more worried than ever as he looked over to where his sister was sleeping. Ford sat there for a moment while he tried to think of what to do. "Well, I think for now we can-" "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Mabel's scream made the two of them jump and Stan rush into the cabin. They all ran over to see what was going on. "Mabel! Mabel, are you alright?" Dipper asked his sister as he put a hand on her shoulder. She sat up quickly with a stuffed unicorn hanging off of her teeth. "No!" She whined, he speech being somewhat hindered due to the unicorn. "I fell asleep with my mouth open, and Princess Lovicorn's hear got stuck in my braces!" The others stopped and laughed for a moment before they started to find way to get Mabel untangled from her doll. Stan thought the whole thing was hilarious, but Dipper and Ford mostly felt relieved that it was just the unicorn and not Bill going through with his plan to target the girl. Either way, both of them were going to keep an eye on things for awhile. Dipper, though tired as he was, stayed up the rest of the night to keep watch over Mabel. He wanted to be sure that nothing would happen to her. Besides, there was absolutely no way that he was going back to sleep tonight.
