ok dialovers idol au, hear me out
so they have these tv shows where they take a bunch of idol trainees (or idols that have already debuted) and they put on this competition where the trainees perform in several rounds, and they try to gain as many audience votes as possible. they gradually eliminate more and more trainees as the show goes on, until they're left with a final group, and those winning members get to debut!! SO-
Sakamaki Tougo is the CEO of a television network that is putting on one of these tv shows. The show is called the Apple of Eden project, because of course it is. The contestants are as follows:
Shu and Reiji are a defunct idol duo that haven't disbanded officially, but they also haven't released any new music for a long time after a falling out behind the scenes. Their fans thought this would be a reunion but they're competing individually, and it looks like they're on bad terms :3
The triplets are a debuted trio that has seen moderate success, but Sakamaki Tougo (who owns their company of course lmao) thinks that they're just coasting off of the fact that they come from a rich company with lots of connections. They've been entered into this competition to prove themselves.
Subaru is currently the only trainee in Tougo's company. His attitude, and the trouble that he's had with his managers, have prevented him from debuting multiple times.
Kou is a popular idol from a smaller company. Since his company was bought by Tougo's, he hasn't received much funding for his own idol activities, so this is his way of earning it.
Ruki, Yuma, and Azusa are trainees from the same agency as Kou. The four of them are close and want to stand on the stage together ;-; Incidentally, Yuma was a trainee at Tougo's original company first (alongside Shu and Reiji heheh) but he was fired after someone framed him for their wrongdoings :^)
Carla and Shin are former super idols who want to prove that their time in the spotlight is not over. Most of the contestants belong to agencies owned by Tougo, but not them, so does that mean the show is rigged against them...?!
Kino is a wildcard trainee from a totally unknown company. He boasts that he has only been training for a short time but he can outperform anyone. An industry plant? A cheater? You can't prove anything ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The final winners of this project will form a group called Adam, and perform alongside a girl group, Eve, that was formed the same way. You guessed it, Yui is a member of Eve!! :D
