Day 26, glimpses of a future

Hai, guess who's back, back again. (o3o)/

See, see, I couldn't come up with a good name for today's art but this will do.

It's been oh so very busy in the real world but I'm back and better than ever. Maybe. I'll try. ...I'm not the best at keeping promises.

Anyways, here's some more art for my AU of the boys (well, they're technically men, huh). I've talked about it, but the better explanation is that it's about Kazuichi, and most of their classmates, following Fuyuhiko and becoming part of the Kuzuryuu Clan, or heavily affiliated.

I mentioned that there were two versions, but now there's three versions of this AU: the first focuses on relationships and friendships between the SDR2 cast, the second has a heavy focus on Kuzusouda and certain ships that also introduced the idea of some of my fankids, and the third is more geared to Kuzupeko and other ships I wanted to explore, with a new cast of fankids. I want to share art of these AUs that doesn't focus on Kuzusouda but I kinda need to make them first XP

Anyways, as the title suggests, today's arts are little glimpses of what this Kuzusouda AU looks like for these guys. AND I finally have some actual bonuses for you all.

For some fun little tidbits of context, the main art today was an idea of a very unfortunate meeting with the new head of the Kuzuryuu Clan, his right hand man, and some of his most trusted men. Let me know if you can figure out who's there.

Really, this art was an excuse to put my newfound digital skills to the test, cuz I threw myself in a training arc during most of my free time these past months. The one thing I'm sad about is that I just couldn't make the smoke from the cigarette work.

is it wrong to say i don't think calling wiggly the villain of black friday is totally 100% correct (it is correct to a certain extent but viewing it by it’s theme it’s not as correct)

since black friday displays an anti-capitalist message, and wiggly's main goal is to fuck over the world, or at least the usa (capitalist country) and does so using capitalism to his advantage, but obviously not in a way that the audience would take it as pro-capitalist, because that's exactly what it's not.

wiggly shows an anti-capitalist message that only the audience understand. not the characters, as they are under manipulation.

and depending on whether your a capitalist or anti-capitalist, the role of wiggly changes. it also changes whether you view it from your own perspective or a character perspective.

for capitalists (and honestly government officials, but they're the exact same thing let's be honest), this is the exact thing that they don't want capitalism to be portrayed as. capitalists tend to be wealthy as well, and a line from wilbur, who has been manipulated to spread a message as such from wiggly, says "the poorer get poorer, and the rich, well, they just get richer." and statements like this pisses capitalists off, because they KNOW it's true.

point here being, capitalists themself have a reason, in their minds, to not side with wiggly.

for anti-capitalists, shouldn't we side with this message? wiggly isn't really the villain, more so just unethical and a bit manipulative with the his messaging and how he feels. yeah, he's fucking over millions of people doing it, but he's also spreading a message that needs to be spread to an audience.

now, looking through the character perspective, holy shit he's terrible, but then again, indulging in capitalism, which to be fair is inevitable in the united states.

but it's also the fact that instead of spending time with their children or people they care for, they're more focused on getting a toy their kid didn't want, not even thinking if their kid asked for it. the only person we see realize this is tom... anyways. kids, especially younger kids without affiliation to any kind of gift (so... not hannah), like tim, aren't effected by wiggly's manipulation because they just want their family and the people around them, they don't need products to fill in gaps in their life. and they don't need an abundance of money or products to feel happy.

also the shoppers actively have the mindset that buying this toy will make their kids, or themselves, feel happier in the long run which just isn’t true.

so it depends on who you’re viewing it from. i guess i might be a bit biased as someone who’s 15, but who knows.

viewing it from an audience perspective, yeah i don’t see wiggly really isn’t THE villain, he’s spreading an anti-capitalist message which is woo! so cool. maybe don’t kill people in the process next time but. you’re trying, wiggly. that’s all we can ask

although this is how her appearance canonly is now, her accessories, and hairstyle ( not her uniform though ) aren’t actually set on the one that’s shown in particular ! everyone is free to draw her with different aspects to her appearance ! though id say that so far, she is a generally quiet, reserved, sensitive ( which she refuses to show since she views it as a vulnerable and weak trait ), stubborn, and short tempered, but softhearted and gentle once you get to know her a lot more . i think the first established relationship for her so far, would be with atlas !

so... iii18, right? let's get into my theories. these all tie together in some way

mephone4s's return, or attempted return

My main theory coming out of this is the idea that Walkie is going to attempt to upgrade mephone4 back to 4s. this is mostly backed by potential foreshadowing. not only are there several references to 4s in the episode, but it is also possible that his voice can be barely heard during a point in mephone's dialogue. (EDIT: This was likely just me being overanalytical and not actual evidence. My bad!)

the amount of foreshadowing could lead to him reappearing as a construct or replica (i.e. springy's toys), but I think the second piece of evidence points to him returning through mephone4.

a bit more on this would be the fact that iii references season 1 a lot. think about tyler and the amount of times characters jumped off a cliff. iii was supposed to be the return to s1's tone, wasn't it? a parallel or reference to the finale is almost expected. especially since that already happened, as helpfully pointed out in the episode

i don't know why this would be the plan of action, possibly just to get rid of mephone. maybe I'm misreading the foreshadowing, im not sure.

walkie talkie is a meeple device or at least affiliated, and springy is a meeple generated construct

so there are a lot of questions when it comes to walkie talkie.

why does she want to take over the show?

why is she trying to delay its end?

why is she hiding her appearance?

how did she learn about iii in the first place?

where did she get the means to do any of this?

Walkie is obviously Cobs with a girl filter My theory is she is a Meeple device, or at least Meeple-affiliated. It would explain why she wants to keep the show running, as Meeple do profit off of it, and why she'd want to keep it at season 3, as s2 was decidedly anti-meeple.

Her being a meeple device would explain why she never shows herself or shares any details on her identity, as she would immediately lose trust with mephone.

also that "all we need is revolutionary technology!" line from episode 17? that was very interesting.

on top of that, she somehow knew practically everything about the third season before the airing of any in-universe episodes. importantly, she knew about the location of it. if my theory holds, that could easily be explained with her having access to meeple tech and therefore being able to track mephone.

regardless of her means, she's been watching.

as for springy, my main piece of evidence to him being a meeple-generated construct is how he glitches. he doesn't glitch like a robot, he glitches like a construct.

to show the contrast, i added mephone glitching. you can see that the glitch effect is only applied to his software, while springy and the glitched construct tree have the effect applied to their physical forms. (Ignore the fucked bitrate for the springy screenshot, youtube does not like the glitching)

on top of that, springy has his weird philosophies, fixation on robots, corporate everything, and suspicious spaceships.

i am of the belief that walkie may have orchestrated the sponsorship to get either closer to everything happening or more control.

4. Multimuse, Multifandom and OC friendly. Not okay with roleplaying minor OC characters either. Please have some sort of information page of your character. Multifandom/crossover roleplays are welcome but there are some fandoms I don’t want anything to do with.

5. Headcanon based. Canon exists in this blog. But how I rp as Fizz is bit more headcanon based. He has his childish side showing up quite often, this is because he have been working ever since he was little kid. His parents are dead so he hasn’t been able to be like a ‘normal child’ so now it’s showing up.

6. Duplicate Muses. Are ok only if they are part of multimuse blog. I get very anxious when I see a duplicate muse on my dash, minus a few of my friends who I share Fizz and Mammon with. 

7. NSFW. Horny demons, what can I say. Fizz has his moments. All the NSFW themes will be tagged as such.

8. Triggering themes. Such violent and more dark themed rp’s will be tagged as “tw; blood” or “tw; injury”. If I ever miss a trigger warning, please message me. I don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

9. Shipping. Yes! This blog is multiship! But I only ship with chemistry and would like to know the other mun before anything happens between our boys. Yes, boys. Fizz is not straight. Never feel pressured to ship with me. I’m fine for example Fizz and Ozzie only being business partners. Also not all the ships need to be healthy or actual romantic ships. 10. Safe Zone. This blog is as Drama Free as possible! I have zero tolerance of drama, not gonna spread it. Anons will be blocked and blogs will be blocked forever. 

11. Replies. My replies vary from a few lines to several paragraphs depending how my muse works for me at the time. I always try to end my reply so my partners have something to work with. Icons will be used unless stated otherwise in tags. Icons used in replies are from the show that rightfully belongs to Vivziepop.

12. Never rush. I happen to have a life…. ‘life’ away from the computer. Have a full time job so it’s impossible for me to be around on a daily basis. At times work takes a lot from my energy. I reply on things I have muse for. Roleplay partners who I talk to behind the scenes go most likely first. Timezone is not on my side so the dash is usually most active at 1 am to 7 am my time. Be patient with me. But there may be a slight chance I missed your reply or forgot to reply to it, you can always remind me. Me and my dyslectic ADHD ass tend to forget things.

Sorry this is late! Wanted to think about my answers more, but I forgot to even read the original questions this whole time, so I def' didn't get to think about my answers, whups. 😅

How do you approach action sequences or intense moments?

I haven't written anything action, it makes me cringe because I don't think I know what I'm doing, but I read that short sentences are best for this and I would agree. Choppy, curt sentences would give that sense of blow for blow feeling that action needs, and it would give the sense of it happening seconds of each other, or even simultaneously. I would probably look for an action scene to copy tbh, and try to write the choreography in a choppy way. Emotionally intense moments can be the same, I suppose. Idk what I do personally, I think I'm an Intuitive writer. Once I'm in the emotion of the scene or character, I just go for it and my heart beats really fast usually and it's wrenching and it's awesome and then it just exists and it feels right. (Until I reread it a month or so later. 🙈 Jk, time isn't the problem, my inconsistent headspace is. 🤭)

How do you incorporate world-building elements into your fics?

So, at this point and as you know, I'm veryyyyy comfortable writing my modern AUs as if they were based in Japan. Even though I don't think Konoha could feasibly be as big as Tokyo with the size of Hi no Kuni, I just write it as if it is. 😅 I pull from the real world to some extent, usually Uzushio is a mix of Okinawa and Taiwan, but I also have some AU where it's pretty damn impoverished, so it's going to be a mix of Macau and Haiti. Sometimes Suna is a mix of Macau and Vegas, haha. I guess Dubai and Macau would probably be more... unique. 🤔 I focus on food and architecture more than deeper things like politics and style of governance and whatnot, because my characters only experience those things passively as ordinary citizens do. Whenever I get back to Powerless, the shady secret government program plotline will actually matter more than Slice of Life stuff, so in that instance I will have to map out history, organizations and their affiliations, how secret programs are run, etc. It just depends on what my story needs. Usually backstory kind of comes to me on its own and that informs me of the world. Can't really think of anything else. 🤔 Making things familiar is the main aim every time, though. Dango to a Japanese is like sugar-cinnamon pretzels to us in the US or whatever, it's a familiar snack you can get pretty easily. That's the kind of immersion I try to keep in mind.

Are there any fic writing tips or tricks you've learning along the way that you'd like to share?

Proofread before posting. Proofread again when you wake up the next day after posting. You'll always miss something, but give yourself the first week to catch all the typos you might've missed. 😂

I guess I recommend reading your dialogue aloud? Maybe your whole fic? My inner monologue is pretty damn loud, so I like to trust my word flow is good because I'm practically reading it aloud in my head. I recommend letting characters interrupt each other. Unless perhaps both parties are really solemn about getting to the bottom of the issue or respect each other or both, that neither interrupts the other, but their emotions would be raging to speak up in the midst of all that patience. Figure out your own writing process. If outlining sucks out the fun, try writing the whole thing without guidance but be sure to analyze the story's direction with what you produce. I recommend the flashlight method for pantsers like myself, there are other methods as well, but a little organization goes a long way. I lastly recommend the "One Stop for Writers" site, their Emotion Thesaurus is such an amazing tool. When you just need to reference things quickly, it's very robust.

What do you enjoy the most about being a fic writer?

Between the community aspect and kind of being known for certain things, I think those are pretty even. I enjoy the act of creation and all that, but having something I experienced along the way and having the pride of it being mine is pretty damn cool. And the community makes that feeling even better.

If you block someone and/or they block you, move on. That's all. Stop checking their blog (obviously it's one thing to check if you were actually blocked vs. them disappearing and deleting the one time but once you realize "oh I've been blocked") and just let it go. Does it suck sometimes? Absolutely, especially when it's out of nowhere, but it is what it is. If someone has you blocked, that means they do not want you in their space, and that is their right, and we should respect each other by just staying out of each other's spaces when we are not longer wanted or welcome. But also, if you've blocked someone, then that means you don't want to interact with them, so why are you still lurking? That's weirdo behavior, for real. Stop using old/burner blogs to check in on them and just cultivate your space to your needs. I personally recommend blocking the blogs that block you as well - it makes it easier to avoid the temptation of checking in. I wish everyone well, and the RPC is big enough that we can all have a slice of pie, and the cafeteria is big enough that we don't even have to see each other if we're all in different parts of it.

In that same vein, DNIs are often ridiculuous unless someone is proven to be highly problematic (this fandom in particular had a BIG ONE a few years ago and the people who were around know who I'm talking about) but having a disagreement with someone? Getting blocked by someone? Not vibing with someone? These are not reasons to be like "If you interact with X, don't fucking interact with me." Also weirdo behavior. Let people befriend who they wish. If you want to warn your friends of problematic behaviors in other people, you can, but you also should let them make their own choices. 9/10 times, DNIs are just "I don't like this person so you shouldn't either" and it's silly.

Please stop shaming people for mains/affiliates/exclusives. It isn't about excluding others for most of us (maybe some, but definitely not me). It's about building long, deep connections that actually translate throughout the entire portrayal. I personally love making connections that I can then integrate into other threads with other people. I try to make sure all of my interactions are as unique as possible (sometimes this doesn't always work out) so that people feel special, and once I've got like a tight-knit with someone, it makes it harder to separate their portrayal from others.

CHARACTER — The Ghoul is not a nice character who hesitates out of the goodness of his heart. He operates through the mentality of dehumanization & general devaluation, therefore he will shoot, harm, mock, cannibalize and kill without mercy if the latter doesn't garner him a service. Maybe your muse can fix him, but chances are he'll make them worse.

THE MUN — I'm in my late 20s & live in Europe. I haven't played the games, so I only know about Fallout from the show & whatever tidbits I consume on the internet. I mainly just post things & bounce, so I don't spend a lot of time on the dash and therefore might miss out on a ton of things! English is my second language. I will do my best to mimic a southern dialect, but I must preemptively apologize if my dialogues are going to be a miss rather than a hit. You can ask for my discord but your best bet to chat with me OOC is through IMs. Little PSA since it happened.

Time to finally write that RIDICULOUSLY LONG HC I've been wanting to make for Lyney. Basically, this is me talking at length about how I view him in relation to Arlecchino's choice of naming him her successor. Things like the qualities he has that make him suited and the similarities I personally think are there. Some details may change with the next update and I'll edit this or make a new post if I feel the need. I'll divide the sections too because I think that makes it a little easier to digest. If you do read it then tysm! I'd love to hear some thoughts.

First of all, let's talk about Lyney in his current role. He is both leader and strategist of what we can assume is the fontainian branch of the HotH, lending belief that the main base is in Snezhnaya or elsewhere. This makes him one of Arle's highest subordinates and allows him to have command over others. We see him exercising this right throughout the AQ when he enlists the assistance of and oversees other Fatui operatives. Even if certain things are only made possible with Arle's backing, we know she isn't just playing favorites.

We have to consider that in drafting a plan, he has to list all the benefits and downsides it may hold while convincing her to approve it, and this may include things such as losses in money, resources, or manpower at times. But more often than not, he is able to gain approval. Arle isn't going to lend aid if she believed him incapable of delivering and she has in fact rejected his ideas in the past. ( Namely ones that placed him in needless danger when he wasn't thinking clearly. ) Another thing worth pointing out is that he can speak directly with Arle without going through a superior first or needing to put in a request and waiting for x amount of time. I also believe that there are certain plans he can put into action without needing her approval first. Once again, he does have the right to command some underlings and can fund things on his own. These would be smaller scale functions such as the distribution of magic pockets.

I also have the hc that Arle trusts him to act in her place on certain occasions in which she is not present. An example being an old thread of mine in which he was receiving sensitive intel on her behalf. While maybe not completely, Lyney is practically like a second-in-command.

My next point moves onto the other half of his role in that he's always been a skilled strategist. While he currently formulates all the plans for the Fontaine branch, he also used to plot out all of Lynette's missions when they were younger, before he had his vision and was barred from accompanying her. He would do things such as pick safe places to hide, plot escape routes, guide her along what paths to take, and set a rendezvous point. We know that he's incredibly smart with the skill to draw accurate conclusions based on little information and careful observations, just as we saw in the Meropide questline. This display even had Freminet commenting, " That's our Lyney, " making this a commonplace thing he does but never any less impressive. In fact, it also serves to prove he's a source of pride for the HotH.

Next I'm gonna try to combine two points. The first being how he is capable of playing the long game. He waited 10 years to clear his mentor's name rather than rushing into it before they were ready. Something like this is vital for a leader. If you're too reckless and act before the time is right or while you lack the proper skills, then it'll only end in catastrophe. On the other side of things, we know he doesn't like leaving people behind if he can help it. One of his stories talks about an affiliate of theirs who he promised to help if things went south. Although the man never actually believed Lyney would come to his aid, he still pressed the button as instructed. And to his surprise, the magician came through in the end. These two things are both important. One shows that he has the ability to hold a grudge. Not everyone should be forgiven after all. If you show kindness to everyone, then you'll sooner get hurt. By being in the Fatui, they'll naturally have enemies and he is prepared for this. The other is that he can and will keep those close to him safe where possible. While the world they live in is dangerous and one screw up is enough to be abandoned, he doesn't fully believe in this. Or at the least, he's already planning ahead and devising ways to get out of sticky situations. So if lives matter, you can trust him to return with a full team. These stories can also show that he's good at keeping his word— whether or not others believe him.

Finally, I'm gonna get into things more directly related to his relationship with Arlecchino. On a base level, there are a lot of things they have in common with one another. Apart from the boss drop, their ascension materials are exactly the same consisting of rainbow roses and Fatui insignias, their promo art displays similar poses ( while tailoring to their different personalities ), they're both 5* pyro units, and their visions have a chance at being obtained through similar means. We don't know how Arle got hers yet, but if we believe that pyro is related to passion, then that passion can be in protecting others. She killed the former head of HotH to save the other kids from abuse and became the Knave. Lyney was prepared to kill when he was just a child. And then he went on to obtain his vision through a desire to protect his sister. In short, I take all of this to mean that she sees herself in him.

Before moving on I just want to toss out there that I do hc that Lyney has killed before and will do so again if absolutely needed. He doesn't like to, but he's long known the kind of life they're expected to live in the Fatui. And seeing as Arle has already named him her successor, he's also aware of the kind of tasks and decisions he'd need to make in that future role. It was never going to be a bloodless path he walked, and I think it says a lot that he's fully embraced her decision and is working towards fulfilling it as best he can. I want to share these artworks ( one, two ) to showcase the kind of portrayal I aim for. This artist and I are on the same wavelength and they're one of my favs for Lyney!!

One of the most important things behind her decision however, is the fact that Lyney still has his humanity about him. He is able to love and show compassion. He can still behave like an ordinary young man— he has hobbies and passions, knows how and when to have fun, can laugh when he's happy and yell when he's mad. All the while, he has proven that he can carry the burden of being her successor and leading this branch of the Hearth. She doesn't want him to be just like her or the Harbingers. She wants him to stay true to himself and lead that way. However, as depicted in the art I shared and stated in other posts, he is already suffering in silence. He's currently battling an identity crisis in which he's lied so much that it's habitual now and donned so many masks he no longer knows which is the real him. He holds himself to high standards�� show no fear, show no doubt, don't be weak, and don't cry. If he should slip even just a little, then everyone else will falter too. Lyney continues to say he's fine when he's not and smiles through it all.

But Arlecchino sees this.

And she's likely worried for him to keep living that way. Which is also why she pushes him to learn how to lean and others and ask for help. She wants to give it. But Lyney believes that as leader and successor, he has to be capable of doing everything on his own. Nevertheless, she'll continue to remind him— so that he doesn't become a lone wolf lost in the bloodshed.

My tensura s/i is a fairy, though I like completely took the Canon fairy lore and treated it like putty to mold, specifically she's exiled and Ramiris's grand daughter, and lived in the ogre village before joining Tempest with their gang. She's a pretty tiny gal, her main duty in Tempest is being master of the arts, she's pretty creative and has done a lot to bring more style to the kingdom. She's a sweetie, a lil ditzy maybe but she's not stupid, a snack sized ball of light and excitable, she's often found happily swinging her legs and sitting in her garden of flowers, lmao

For some context before I dive in, with regards to the plot and timeline of the main LN/manga/anime, Wendy actually goes to Tempest not long after Milim first does in order to investigate (and because they're curious about the otherworlder Rimuru who they met offhand before he got all strong - I am behind on posting that fic oops). So Milim knows who Wendy is, Rimuru doesn't know that they're associated with Clayman, and neither does the rest of the town (and don't worry, they don't betray Tempest! promise). Because Rimuru introduced Wendy to Milim, Milim decided to play along and not reveal the truth (part of the non-interference agreement anyway, since Wendy seems to not be interesting in interfering with Milim).

Wendy would be a little bit worried that as a fairy you might know who they are and that they associate with Clayman - but they're really here on their own desire and not his orders anyway. So they might be a bit wary. It doesn't sound like your SI would actually have reason to know this though so I think Wendy would end up being touched by how welcoming you are!

CREATIVITY!!! ARTISTIC!!! THE EXCITEMENT AND ENERGY!!! That is super fun and they haven't been feeling that themself lately. ALSO I bet you're real sweet to Wendy's fox Yuzu (think Ranga level intelligence) and that endears you immediately to them! But really like Wendy was artistic in our world (cause they are Me lol) but there hasn't been a ton of chance to execute on that in the past century, what with things happening with Clayman (there's a light novel spoiler that explains why he's behaving odd during the course of the main plot) and mostly just executing his orders. So your boundless enthusiasm for stuff like that makes them so happy 🥺 they want to join in!

Benimaru, Soei, and Diablo right? :D well...Wendy is a bit wary of how perceptive Benimaru and Soei are at first, and can't fully let down their guard around them since they are in town despite being affiliated with a (unfortunately hostile) demon lord, so...that may just influence the amount of wariness exhibited around your SI too, being aware that anything they let slip could make it to those two protectors as well!

By the time Diablo is in the picture- well actually this merits another context dump. Clayman is still killed in my time (I focus mainly on the Clayman's Revenge timeline nfkjdashfkja where things are different) and after that Rimuru keeps me captured rather than killing me. Diablo is fucking terrifying. Even once I sort of turn a new leaf and agree to be part of Tempest, Diablo is still not fully sold on me and he scares the shit out of me :D Wendy is fully afraid to go talk to your SI again at first cause like what if Diablo gets protective and kills me- fkjdshfkjhsakj so you know. At this point I'd have similar concerns about how strong Soei and Benimaru are too but Diablo is just...so terrifying and actively watching them more aggressively so XD

You and Ichika were having your classic practice date when both of you just played ransoms songs which happen to be mostly Miku songs on guitars and sometimes even singing them!

You decided to surprise your girlfriend by randomly playing one of the songs that always caught your heart, "Therefore You and Me", also known as "Yueni Yuu en Mi". At first she looked at you in slight confusion but soon recognizes the song and grabs her own guitar swiftly joining your play. As for singing, she let you finish first verse with admirable smile and joined you in the chorus.
