Day 26, glimpses of a future

Hai, guess who's back, back again. (o3o)/

See, see, I couldn't come up with a good name for today's art but this will do.

It's been oh so very busy in the real world but I'm back and better than ever. Maybe. I'll try. ...I'm not the best at keeping promises.

Anyways, here's some more art for my AU of the boys (well, they're technically men, huh). I've talked about it, but the better explanation is that it's about Kazuichi, and most of their classmates, following Fuyuhiko and becoming part of the Kuzuryuu Clan, or heavily affiliated.

I mentioned that there were two versions, but now there's three versions of this AU: the first focuses on relationships and friendships between the SDR2 cast, the second has a heavy focus on Kuzusouda and certain ships that also introduced the idea of some of my fankids, and the third is more geared to Kuzupeko and other ships I wanted to explore, with a new cast of fankids. I want to share art of these AUs that doesn't focus on Kuzusouda but I kinda need to make them first XP

Anyways, as the title suggests, today's arts are little glimpses of what this Kuzusouda AU looks like for these guys. AND I finally have some actual bonuses for you all.

For some fun little tidbits of context, the main art today was an idea of a very unfortunate meeting with the new head of the Kuzuryuu Clan, his right hand man, and some of his most trusted men. Let me know if you can figure out who's there.

Really, this art was an excuse to put my newfound digital skills to the test, cuz I threw myself in a training arc during most of my free time these past months. The one thing I'm sad about is that I just couldn't make the smoke from the cigarette work.

As for the bonuses, it includes a sample from a study of old people and wrinkles that spiraled into full body designs of Fuyuhiko and Kazuichi as older men, the walk back home from a late night date after some business was taken care of, and a self-indulgent doodle of the Kuzuryuu family when the kids were more baby.

is it wrong to say i don't think calling wiggly the villain of black friday is totally 100% correct (it is correct to a certain extent but viewing it by it’s theme it’s not as correct)

since black friday displays an anti-capitalist message, and wiggly's main goal is to fuck over the world, or at least the usa (capitalist country) and does so using capitalism to his advantage, but obviously not in a way that the audience would take it as pro-capitalist, because that's exactly what it's not.

wiggly shows an anti-capitalist message that only the audience understand. not the characters, as they are under manipulation.

and depending on whether your a capitalist or anti-capitalist, the role of wiggly changes. it also changes whether you view it from your own perspective or a character perspective.

for capitalists (and honestly government officials, but they're the exact same thing let's be honest), this is the exact thing that they don't want capitalism to be portrayed as. capitalists tend to be wealthy as well, and a line from wilbur, who has been manipulated to spread a message as such from wiggly, says "the poorer get poorer, and the rich, well, they just get richer." and statements like this pisses capitalists off, because they KNOW it's true.

point here being, capitalists themself have a reason, in their minds, to not side with wiggly.

for anti-capitalists, shouldn't we side with this message? wiggly isn't really the villain, more so just unethical and a bit manipulative with the his messaging and how he feels. yeah, he's fucking over millions of people doing it, but he's also spreading a message that needs to be spread to an audience.

now, looking through the character perspective, holy shit he's terrible, but then again, indulging in capitalism, which to be fair is inevitable in the united states.

but it's also the fact that instead of spending time with their children or people they care for, they're more focused on getting a toy their kid didn't want, not even thinking if their kid asked for it. the only person we see realize this is tom... anyways. kids, especially younger kids without affiliation to any kind of gift (so... not hannah), like tim, aren't effected by wiggly's manipulation because they just want their family and the people around them, they don't need products to fill in gaps in their life. and they don't need an abundance of money or products to feel happy.

also the shoppers actively have the mindset that buying this toy will make their kids, or themselves, feel happier in the long run which just isn’t true.

so it depends on who you’re viewing it from. i guess i might be a bit biased as someone who’s 15, but who knows.

viewing it from an audience perspective, yeah i don’t see wiggly really isn’t THE villain, he’s spreading an anti-capitalist message which is woo! so cool. maybe don’t kill people in the process next time but. you’re trying, wiggly. that’s all we can ask

although this is how her appearance canonly is now, her accessories, and hairstyle ( not her uniform though ) aren’t actually set on the one that’s shown in particular ! everyone is free to draw her with different aspects to her appearance ! though id say that so far, she is a generally quiet, reserved, sensitive ( which she refuses to show since she views it as a vulnerable and weak trait ), stubborn, and short tempered, but softhearted and gentle once you get to know her a lot more . i think the first established relationship for her so far, would be with atlas !

so... iii18, right? let's get into my theories. these all tie together in some way

mephone4s's return, or attempted return

My main theory coming out of this is the idea that Walkie is going to attempt to upgrade mephone4 back to 4s. this is mostly backed by potential foreshadowing. not only are there several references to 4s in the episode, but it is also possible that his voice can be barely heard during a point in mephone's dialogue. (EDIT: This was likely just me being overanalytical and not actual evidence. My bad!)

the amount of foreshadowing could lead to him reappearing as a construct or replica (i.e. springy's toys), but I think the second piece of evidence points to him returning through mephone4.

a bit more on this would be the fact that iii references season 1 a lot. think about tyler and the amount of times characters jumped off a cliff. iii was supposed to be the return to s1's tone, wasn't it? a parallel or reference to the finale is almost expected. especially since that already happened, as helpfully pointed out in the episode

i don't know why this would be the plan of action, possibly just to get rid of mephone. maybe I'm misreading the foreshadowing, im not sure.

walkie talkie is a meeple device or at least affiliated, and springy is a meeple generated construct

so there are a lot of questions when it comes to walkie talkie.

why does she want to take over the show?

why is she trying to delay its end?

why is she hiding her appearance?

how did she learn about iii in the first place?

where did she get the means to do any of this?

Walkie is obviously Cobs with a girl filter My theory is she is a Meeple device, or at least Meeple-affiliated. It would explain why she wants to keep the show running, as Meeple do profit off of it, and why she'd want to keep it at season 3, as s2 was decidedly anti-meeple.

Her being a meeple device would explain why she never shows herself or shares any details on her identity, as she would immediately lose trust with mephone.

also that "all we need is revolutionary technology!" line from episode 17? that was very interesting.

on top of that, she somehow knew practically everything about the third season before the airing of any in-universe episodes. importantly, she knew about the location of it. if my theory holds, that could easily be explained with her having access to meeple tech and therefore being able to track mephone.

regardless of her means, she's been watching.

as for springy, my main piece of evidence to him being a meeple-generated construct is how he glitches. he doesn't glitch like a robot, he glitches like a construct.

to show the contrast, i added mephone glitching. you can see that the glitch effect is only applied to his software, while springy and the glitched construct tree have the effect applied to their physical forms. (Ignore the fucked bitrate for the springy screenshot, youtube does not like the glitching)

on top of that, springy has his weird philosophies, fixation on robots, corporate everything, and suspicious spaceships.

i am of the belief that walkie may have orchestrated the sponsorship to get either closer to everything happening or more control.

4. Multimuse, Multifandom and OC friendly. Not okay with roleplaying minor OC characters either. Please have some sort of information page of your character. Multifandom/crossover roleplays are welcome but there are some fandoms I don’t want anything to do with.

5. Headcanon based. Canon exists in this blog. But how I rp as Fizz is bit more headcanon based. He has his childish side showing up quite often, this is because he have been working ever since he was little kid. His parents are dead so he hasn’t been able to be like a ‘normal child’ so now it’s showing up.

6. Duplicate Muses. Are ok only if they are part of multimuse blog. I get very anxious when I see a duplicate muse on my dash, minus a few of my friends who I share Fizz and Mammon with. 

7. NSFW. Horny demons, what can I say. Fizz has his moments. All the NSFW themes will be tagged as such.

8. Triggering themes. Such violent and more dark themed rp’s will be tagged as “tw; blood” or “tw; injury”. If I ever miss a trigger warning, please message me. I don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

9. Shipping. Yes! This blog is multiship! But I only ship with chemistry and would like to know the other mun before anything happens between our boys. Yes, boys. Fizz is not straight. Never feel pressured to ship with me. I’m fine for example Fizz and Ozzie only being business partners. Also not all the ships need to be healthy or actual romantic ships. The main ships for me are OzzFizz, BlitzFizz, StrikerFizz that I like. Wanna ship? Throw me with IM, let’s see what happens~

10. Safe Zone. This blog is as Drama Free as possible! I have zero tolerance of drama, not gonna spread it. Anons will be blocked and blogs will be blocked forever. 

11. Replies. My replies vary from a few lines to several paragraphs depending how my muse works for me at the time. I always try to end my reply so my partners have something to work with. Icons will be used unless stated otherwise in tags. Icons used in replies are from the show that rightfully belongs to Vivziepop.

12. Never rush. I happen to have a life…. ‘life’ away from the computer. Have a full time job so it’s impossible for me to be around on a daily basis. At times work takes a lot from my energy. I reply on things I have muse for. Roleplay partners who I talk to behind the scenes go most likely first. Timezone is not on my side so the dash is usually most active at 1 am to 7 am my time. Be patient with me. But there may be a slight chance I missed your reply or forgot to reply to it, you can always remind me. Me and my dyslectic ADHD ass tend to forget things.

13. Discord. Open for mutuals. It’s mostly for planning stuff, talking whatever you want. Maybe do some roleplaying there~

Becoming an IPR Publisher

We’ve had quite a few people contact us about selling their games at IPR recently, so here is a quick rundown of how to apply to become part of our network of publishers!

Firstly, why become an IPR publisher in the first place?

Unlike other distributors, IPR sells your games on a consignment basis. We pay publishers 80% of cover price for PDF sales, 70% of cover price for sales to customers through our website, and 44% of cover price for sales at conventions or to retailers (we get 11%, the retailer gets a 45% discount from cover price).

The cut is all the fee you'll see. IPR's cut covers all the costs involved in a sale transaction: bank transactional fees, shipping discounts for the buyer, and a modest amount for IPR to cover other expenses & profit. By sticking with a flat, covers-everything cut, your costs should remain predictable.

We’re also a destination site for retailers and individual customers, since we offer so many awesome TTRPGs in one place! Plus we take your games to conventions, including Gen Con and Origins Game Fair. We’ve also got a network of affiliates that sell at conventions under the IPR banner all over the US, and all throughout the year as well!

If you don’t want to send along a physical copy of your game for us to review, for whatever reason (most commonly because international shipping prices are a beast) you can just send us a PDF, and let us know why you’re not sending a physical copy at this time.

Once we’ve got a copy of your game, we’ll read through it to make sure it meets IPR’s quality standards. What exactly does that mean? Well, as our Prospective Publisher FAQ states:

“Excellent art, professional quality layout, attractive and eyecatching cover design, meticulous editing, well-written text, and a compelling rule set and/or setting. These are the criteria on which all submissions will be judged. If your product is lacking in any of these areas, it might be rejected. We are looking for products that make us sit up and take notice.”

We also will not take any games that contain bigotry in any form. As we always say, IPR supports trans rights and BIMPOC creators and gamers. Fascists, Nazis, and TERFs can all fuck right off.

Now I will say that if you’re even thinking about maybe submitting a game to us, do it! Even if we reject your game at this time, we will always give you clear feedback on exactly why, and we are always up for giving advice on how to make your game retailer-ready!

If you’re approved, then we’ll send you a contract to read through and sign, get you set up with an IPR Publishers Account, and tell you where to ship your product and where to enter information so we can get the products set up on the site.

This all sounds pretty good but I’m still nervous! Do you, AC, the person writing this who is also the person that approves all incoming products to IPR, have any tips for me?

I do! The main thing is to read through our Prospective Publisher FAQ before submitting anything. Everything I just wrote out here is on that page, but it also has plenty more info that is good to know before working with IPR.

Seriously, I can tell if you’ve read through our FAQs before submitting, and while I absolutely will not judge your game based off of that, it does help everything go much quicker and smoother, and I appreciate it greatly.

We’re also not generally looking for large TTRPGs at the moment. Shipping prices are awful and only getting worse, so hefty games that weigh over two pounds are not our top priority.

Furthermore, we only deal in physical books. We sometimes take PDFs if they’re a supplement for a game we already have in stock, and if they don’t have a physical version available. But really PDFs just don’t sell through us! You’ll have much better luck on itch.io or DriveThru, trust me.

Sorry this is late! Wanted to think about my answers more, but I forgot to even read the original questions this whole time, so I def' didn't get to think about my answers, whups. 😅

How do you approach action sequences or intense moments?

I haven't written anything action, it makes me cringe because I don't think I know what I'm doing, but I read that short sentences are best for this and I would agree. Choppy, curt sentences would give that sense of blow for blow feeling that action needs, and it would give the sense of it happening seconds of each other, or even simultaneously. I would probably look for an action scene to copy tbh, and try to write the choreography in a choppy way. Emotionally intense moments can be the same, I suppose. Idk what I do personally, I think I'm an Intuitive writer. Once I'm in the emotion of the scene or character, I just go for it and my heart beats really fast usually and it's wrenching and it's awesome and then it just exists and it feels right. (Until I reread it a month or so later. 🙈 Jk, time isn't the problem, my inconsistent headspace is. 🤭)

How do you incorporate world-building elements into your fics?

So, at this point and as you know, I'm veryyyyy comfortable writing my modern AUs as if they were based in Japan. Even though I don't think Konoha could feasibly be as big as Tokyo with the size of Hi no Kuni, I just write it as if it is. 😅 I pull from the real world to some extent, usually Uzushio is a mix of Okinawa and Taiwan, but I also have some AU where it's pretty damn impoverished, so it's going to be a mix of Macau and Haiti. Sometimes Suna is a mix of Macau and Vegas, haha. I guess Dubai and Macau would probably be more... unique. 🤔 I focus on food and architecture more than deeper things like politics and style of governance and whatnot, because my characters only experience those things passively as ordinary citizens do. Whenever I get back to Powerless, the shady secret government program plotline will actually matter more than Slice of Life stuff, so in that instance I will have to map out history, organizations and their affiliations, how secret programs are run, etc. It just depends on what my story needs. Usually backstory kind of comes to me on its own and that informs me of the world. Can't really think of anything else. 🤔 Making things familiar is the main aim every time, though. Dango to a Japanese is like sugar-cinnamon pretzels to us in the US or whatever, it's a familiar snack you can get pretty easily. That's the kind of immersion I try to keep in mind.

Are there any fic writing tips or tricks you've learning along the way that you'd like to share?

Proofread before posting. Proofread again when you wake up the next day after posting. You'll always miss something, but give yourself the first week to catch all the typos you might've missed. 😂

I guess I recommend reading your dialogue aloud? Maybe your whole fic? My inner monologue is pretty damn loud, so I like to trust my word flow is good because I'm practically reading it aloud in my head. I recommend letting characters interrupt each other. Unless perhaps both parties are really solemn about getting to the bottom of the issue or respect each other or both, that neither interrupts the other, but their emotions would be raging to speak up in the midst of all that patience. Figure out your own writing process. If outlining sucks out the fun, try writing the whole thing without guidance but be sure to analyze the story's direction with what you produce. I recommend the flashlight method for pantsers like myself, there are other methods as well, but a little organization goes a long way. I lastly recommend the "One Stop for Writers" site, their Emotion Thesaurus is such an amazing tool. When you just need to reference things quickly, it's very robust.

What do you enjoy the most about being a fic writer?

Between the community aspect and kind of being known for certain things, I think those are pretty even. I enjoy the act of creation and all that, but having something I experienced along the way and having the pride of it being mine is pretty damn cool. And the community makes that feeling even better.

If you block someone and/or they block you, move on. That's all. Stop checking their blog (obviously it's one thing to check if you were actually blocked vs. them disappearing and deleting the one time but once you realize "oh I've been blocked") and just let it go. Does it suck sometimes? Absolutely, especially when it's out of nowhere, but it is what it is. If someone has you blocked, that means they do not want you in their space, and that is their right, and we should respect each other by just staying out of each other's spaces when we are not longer wanted or welcome. But also, if you've blocked someone, then that means you don't want to interact with them, so why are you still lurking? That's weirdo behavior, for real. Stop using old/burner blogs to check in on them and just cultivate your space to your needs. I personally recommend blocking the blogs that block you as well - it makes it easier to avoid the temptation of checking in. I wish everyone well, and the RPC is big enough that we can all have a slice of pie, and the cafeteria is big enough that we don't even have to see each other if we're all in different parts of it.

In that same vein, DNIs are often ridiculuous unless someone is proven to be highly problematic (this fandom in particular had a BIG ONE a few years ago and the people who were around know who I'm talking about) but having a disagreement with someone? Getting blocked by someone? Not vibing with someone? These are not reasons to be like "If you interact with X, don't fucking interact with me." Also weirdo behavior. Let people befriend who they wish. If you want to warn your friends of problematic behaviors in other people, you can, but you also should let them make their own choices. 9/10 times, DNIs are just "I don't like this person so you shouldn't either" and it's silly.

Please stop shaming people for mains/affiliates/exclusives. It isn't about excluding others for most of us (maybe some, but definitely not me). It's about building long, deep connections that actually translate throughout the entire portrayal. I personally love making connections that I can then integrate into other threads with other people. I try to make sure all of my interactions are as unique as possible (sometimes this doesn't always work out) so that people feel special, and once I've got like a tight-knit with someone, it makes it harder to separate their portrayal from others.

CHARACTER — The Ghoul is not a nice character who hesitates out of the goodness of his heart. He operates through the mentality of dehumanization & general devaluation, therefore he will shoot, harm, mock, cannibalize and kill without mercy if the latter doesn't garner him a service. Maybe your muse can fix him, but chances are he'll make them worse.

THE MUN — I'm in my late 20s & live in Europe. I haven't played the games, so I only know about Fallout from the show & whatever tidbits I consume on the internet. I mainly just post things & bounce, so I don't spend a lot of time on the dash and therefore might miss out on a ton of things! English is my second language. I will do my best to mimic a southern dialect, but I must preemptively apologize if my dialogues are going to be a miss rather than a hit. You can ask for my discord but your best bet to chat with me OOC is through IMs. Little PSA since it happened.

Time to finally write that RIDICULOUSLY LONG HC I've been wanting to make for Lyney. Basically, this is me talking at length about how I view him in relation to Arlecchino's choice of naming him her successor. Things like the qualities he has that make him suited and the similarities I personally think are there. Some details may change with the next update and I'll edit this or make a new post if I feel the need. I'll divide the sections too because I think that makes it a little easier to digest. If you do read it then tysm! I'd love to hear some thoughts.

First of all, let's talk about Lyney in his current role. He is both leader and strategist of what we can assume is the fontainian branch of the HotH, lending belief that the main base is in Snezhnaya or elsewhere. This makes him one of Arle's highest subordinates and allows him to have command over others. We see him exercising this right throughout the AQ when he enlists the assistance of and oversees other Fatui operatives. Even if certain things are only made possible with Arle's backing, we know she isn't just playing favorites.

We have to consider that in drafting a plan, he has to list all the benefits and downsides it may hold while convincing her to approve it, and this may include things such as losses in money, resources, or manpower at times. But more often than not, he is able to gain approval. Arle isn't going to lend aid if she believed him incapable of delivering and she has in fact rejected his ideas in the past. ( Namely ones that placed him in needless danger when he wasn't thinking clearly. ) Another thing worth pointing out is that he can speak directly with Arle without going through a superior first or needing to put in a request and waiting for x amount of time. I also believe that there are certain plans he can put into action without needing her approval first. Once again, he does have the right to command some underlings and can fund things on his own. These would be smaller scale functions such as the distribution of magic pockets.

I also have the hc that Arle trusts him to act in her place on certain occasions in which she is not present. An example being an old thread of mine in which he was receiving sensitive intel on her behalf. While maybe not completely, Lyney is practically like a second-in-command.

My next point moves onto the other half of his role in that he's always been a skilled strategist. While he currently formulates all the plans for the Fontaine branch, he also used to plot out all of Lynette's missions when they were younger, before he had his vision and was barred from accompanying her. He would do things such as pick safe places to hide, plot escape routes, guide her along what paths to take, and set a rendezvous point. We know that he's incredibly smart with the skill to draw accurate conclusions based on little information and careful observations, just as we saw in the Meropide questline. This display even had Freminet commenting, " That's our Lyney, " making this a commonplace thing he does but never any less impressive. In fact, it also serves to prove he's a source of pride for the HotH.

Next I'm gonna try to combine two points. The first being how he is capable of playing the long game. He waited 10 years to clear his mentor's name rather than rushing into it before they were ready. Something like this is vital for a leader. If you're too reckless and act before the time is right or while you lack the proper skills, then it'll only end in catastrophe. On the other side of things, we know he doesn't like leaving people behind if he can help it. One of his stories talks about an affiliate of theirs who he promised to help if things went south. Although the man never actually believed Lyney would come to his aid, he still pressed the button as instructed. And to his surprise, the magician came through in the end. These two things are both important. One shows that he has the ability to hold a grudge. Not everyone should be forgiven after all. If you show kindness to everyone, then you'll sooner get hurt. By being in the Fatui, they'll naturally have enemies and he is prepared for this. The other is that he can and will keep those close to him safe where possible. While the world they live in is dangerous and one screw up is enough to be abandoned, he doesn't fully believe in this. Or at the least, he's already planning ahead and devising ways to get out of sticky situations. So if lives matter, you can trust him to return with a full team. These stories can also show that he's good at keeping his word— whether or not others believe him.

Finally, I'm gonna get into things more directly related to his relationship with Arlecchino. On a base level, there are a lot of things they have in common with one another. Apart from the boss drop, their ascension materials are exactly the same consisting of rainbow roses and Fatui insignias, their promo art displays similar poses ( while tailoring to their different personalities ), they're both 5* pyro units, and their visions have a chance at being obtained through similar means. We don't know how Arle got hers yet, but if we believe that pyro is related to passion, then that passion can be in protecting others. She killed the former head of HotH to save the other kids from abuse and became the Knave. Lyney was prepared to kill when he was just a child. And then he went on to obtain his vision through a desire to protect his sister. In short, I take all of this to mean that she sees herself in him.

Before moving on I just want to toss out there that I do hc that Lyney has killed before and will do so again if absolutely needed. He doesn't like to, but he's long known the kind of life they're expected to live in the Fatui. And seeing as Arle has already named him her successor, he's also aware of the kind of tasks and decisions he'd need to make in that future role. It was never going to be a bloodless path he walked, and I think it says a lot that he's fully embraced her decision and is working towards fulfilling it as best he can. I want to share these artworks ( one, two ) to showcase the kind of portrayal I aim for. This artist and I are on the same wavelength and they're one of my favs for Lyney!!

One of the most important things behind her decision however, is the fact that Lyney still has his humanity about him. He is able to love and show compassion. He can still behave like an ordinary young man— he has hobbies and passions, knows how and when to have fun, can laugh when he's happy and yell when he's mad. All the while, he has proven that he can carry the burden of being her successor and leading this branch of the Hearth. She doesn't want him to be just like her or the Harbingers. She wants him to stay true to himself and lead that way. However, as depicted in the art I shared and stated in other posts, he is already suffering in silence. He's currently battling an identity crisis in which he's lied so much that it's habitual now and donned so many masks he no longer knows which is the real him. He holds himself to high standards— show no fear, show no doubt, don't be weak, and don't cry. If he should slip even just a little, then everyone else will falter too. Lyney continues to say he's fine when he's not and smiles through it all.

But Arlecchino sees this.

And she's likely worried for him to keep living that way. Which is also why she pushes him to learn how to lean and others and ask for help. She wants to give it. But Lyney believes that as leader and successor, he has to be capable of doing everything on his own. Nevertheless, she'll continue to remind him— so that he doesn't become a lone wolf lost in the bloodshed.

Digimon Survive, Mistakes and Moving On Part 2: Wrathful

Day 4 of Survive Week: Harmony/Wrathful/Moral [Part 1] [Part 3] [Part 4] [Part 5] [Takuma Addition] This part will focus on the Wrathful Route, the characters it focuses on, and what that means for the story as a whole, exploring this route connects to the larger themes of the game. As you might have noticed there are more parts now. This is because talking about each route is long so I'm splitting it up into even more parts for the sake of time. Spoilers for: All of Wrathful CWs: Death, Self-Hatred.

The Karma System: So the main way the game splits up at the end of Chapter 8 is through the use of the Karma System, which tracks most of the choices you make in the game and if it corresponds to either Harmony, Wrathful, or Moral. Harmony: Represents Data types, most choices here will based on cooperating with others and trying to make sure everyone is happy. Wrathful: Represents Virus types, most choices here will be about what Takuma personally wants to do and his emotions on something. Moral: Represents Vaccine types, most choices here are based on Takuma's moral compass and what's the right thing to do.

It's important to note that none of the main four routes in Survive is a "bad" route. The only ending that is really considered bad is the ending where Takuma stays on Earth, which isn't affiliated with any specific karma. Put a pin in that we'll talk about it in more detail later. You get three choices at the end of Chapter 8, one of them being the bad ending and the other two being the karma you have the most points in. Truthful however doesn't have a specific choice since after you save Ryo your locked into Truthful for the rest of the game.

Stay with Agumon

If you choose Stay with Agumon your locked into Wrathful. In this route Takuma is going back, not to save the world, but for Agumon. He's scared, he doesn't think he has enough to save the world, and yet he's still going anyway. Because Takuma can't turn his back on Agumon. As revealed by the professor in Chapter 6, a Kemonogami is a reflection of their human. Meaning Takuma is really going back for himself. Because he can't leave Agumon alone, because he can't let Agumon do everything without him. Because he wants to protect his other half. It's...a bit selfish, and Takuma knows this.

Takuma: Maybe it's a bit selfish, but you know what I care about more than the fate of the world? Takuma: What happens to you, Agumon..So...I want to fight together, right up to the bitter end. Takuma: Is it...wrong of me to think that?

But, this isn't a bad route. Takuma is still going back, even if he thinks he's not good enough to really do anything. Because Takuma wants to stay true to himself, and to Agumon. Miyuki even says that she would do anything to save her partner, Renamon did so much for her after all. They go back, not to save the world, but to save the people they care about, and also, to save themselves.

Saki Kimishima

We start Chapter 9 with a flashback, Saki is with her doctor, she needs surgery.

Saki has an illness, one that could possible kill her, we got hints of this in earlier chapters, most notably the medical chart you can find in the sewers in Chapter 5. But we didn't know how bad it was until now. While Saki is currently in a stable period the doctor's want to get Saki surgery as fast as they can before the sickness can get worse.

But, Saki doesn't want to to go to the hospital, as much as the surgery could help her she could also die on the operating table.

And Saki really, really, doesn't want to die.

So she lies, says that she has a camp next week, that she wants to make "memories that last a lifetime". Really she just wanted to hang out with her friends but she argued with them and now they aren't on speaking terms.

Saki Kimishima tries her best to act honest and carefree, and the people around her believe it. Saki's known for being outspoken and strong, seemingly not caring about what the people around her think.

Except, she does, a lot, Saki doesn't want people to hate her, Saki doesn't want to be alone, Saki doesn't want to die and have no one care.

Saki: (...I hate it. I hate myself like this.) Saki: (If someone like me disappeared, I doubt anyone would miss me...!)

Saki is sacred of dying alone. To not belong when the threat of death is so close. But she's able to find people that she feels like she belongs with, even if it's in a deadly camp in another world. So now, we get one of my favorite moments in the entire game, Saki's Death. Saki was just grabbed by a Kenzoku, one that the rest of the group weren't able to defeat. Aoi was able to grab her before she was completely dragged off and everyone else is trying to save her, except, they can't drag her out of the fog, and worse, there getting dragged in with her.

So Saki, the girl who is here in the first place because she didn't want to die, lets go.

Saki: I...I'm sacred...but...but...*sniff* Takuma: (Huh, Saki...let go?) Saki: Aoi...Thank you...

Saki willingly, let's go of Aoi's hand, and dies. Saving everyone.

Aoi Shibuya

Aoi Shibuya is the textbook example of a good kid. Known as the "mom" friend of the group. Aoi is always the one advocating for harmony and cooperation, and tries her best to be responsible and to take care of everyone. She's kind, patient, and this close to snapping under the pressure.

Even before camp Aoi was always the one taking care of everyone, in a flashback right as you start Part 11. Aoi is doing everyone's work, even work that the vice president or the student-on-duty should do. She knows it's unfair and knows that she deserves better but...isn't it good to be helpful? And...it's not like the professor will tell the people slacking off to stop.

So Aoi continues to be helpful and patient and kind, even if the people are just taking advantage of her, because, if it's not her, who else will take care of everything?

Enter: Labramon, Labramon loves Aoi deeply and Will Bite people if it means protecting her, Labramon says everything that Aoi wishes she could say, but as the game goes Labramon stops needing to defend her as much, because Aoi gets better at standing up for herself.

But then Ryo dies, then Shuuji. Leaving Aoi with even more responsibility, and the guilt.

Chapter 4:

Aoi: *sniff* *sob* I couldn't stop them. Labramon: Hey, don't be so hard on yourself! There was nothing you could've done. Aoi: But I could tell! I knew there was something wrong with Ryo. Aoi: Oh, why couldn't I help him?

Aoi is probably the character who's hit the hardest by the two's death, next to Takuma. Aoi takes full responsibility for there deaths because if she was just, better, she could of done something. Couldn't she? In Harmony and Moral, Aoi is able to move on and grow as a person. In Wrathful, she isn't, because of Saki.

From the very start Saki was close to Aoi, Saki was the one who was helping her, Saki and Aoi are usually paired up during scenes and Aoi was the first person Saki told about her illness.

And Aoi admired her. Saki was strong and kind and was better than her in every way and Aoi wanted to be good enough for her. To pay back Saki for all that she's done for her.

But then Saki dies. Saki died because Aoi was not good enough. Because she was weak, because she wanted Saki to die.

Aoi: (It's not like Saki wanted to die) Aoi: (Saki told me she was scared, after all. Even so... Aoi: Saki...made a decision so that all of us could live. That's...what we should believe? Kaito: That's what I think. Aoi: (Really...Would you really be happy with that?) Aoi: (Can we say she didn't regret it the moment she let go? Did she really want to save us?) Aoi: (And why didn't I try to grab her hand again in the first place...?) Aoi: (Could it be I was...relieved? That Saki let go for me?)

At least. that's what Aoi thinks, but, Saki made a choice here. It wasn't a choice she wanted to make but a choice nonetheless. Aoi is distorting what actually happened during Saki's death. Aoi couldn't of done anything in that moment, Kaito even tells this to her face that none of them were able to do anything. And that Aoi shouldn't blame herself for this.

But the problem is, Aoi cannot accept that she isn't responsible for Saki's death, because its either, she let go, meaning that she was responsible for Saki's death, or that she couldn't do anything, which also means she was weak, and thus responsible for Saki's death.

Aoi can't move on, she can't accept that she might of failed, because she's the good kid, she's the one supposed to take care of things when everyone else fails, she's the one who makes up for everyone else's mistakes. Her self worth and identity are built on this concept of perfect goodness, and Saki, Ryo, and Shuuji's deaths are proof that this concept is flawed, that Aoi can't help everyone no matter how hard she tries.

So, how does Aoi cope with that? Well, if Saki didn't run off none of this would of happened would it? And if Kaito and Miu didn't run off none of this would of happened would it? And if everyone would of just stayed together none of this would of happened. And the only reason why no one stayed together is because Aoi was weak, because she wasn't assertive enough, because she was holding back.

Aoi: I'm done holding back. That won't help me protect the others Aoi: Yes...I've should've been more assertive from the very beginning. Aoi: We all should've been more understanding, helped each other more... Aoi: Then we would've been able to save Saki! Aoi: I wasn't wrong...Harmony and cooperation ARE the most important things! Aoi: If everyone felt the same as me there'd be no more fighting...No more death. Aoi: I just want a world where everyone works together. A calm, and peaceful world. Labramon: Are you sure you're okay, Aoi? Aoi: (I Just need everyone to understand exactly how I feel.) Aoi: (We must...all become one) Aoi: (I was wrong to reject the idea of group harmony. That's why Saki had to die) Aoi: (The only way to prevent that...is for everyone to be the same as me.)

This is Harmony's ideals taken to the extreme, that to make a peaceful and happy world everyone needs to become one, to destroy the concept of individuality because people working as individuals will inevitability lead to death. But, something I haven't mentioned until now is that Aoi tends to treat things like there's a right answer and a wrong answer, this is most prevalent in Wrathful where she comes to this conclusion, that the "right answer" was Harmony and cooperation

So this isn't just Harmony's ideals taken to an extreme, it's Aoi's mindset taken to an extreme. Notably Aoi still says that she was "wrong to reject the idea" in the first place. Aoi is still blaming herself, saying that she was wrong. It's just that now she's found the "right" answer

A bit after this Aoi meets Piedmon in a field of red spider lilies, he's injured, fatally so, Aoi helps him, because for everyone to live in peace it needs...everyone. Even the guy who's been trying to kill them every time they meet. In response to there compassion, Aoi and Labramon are attacked and injured, both of them are dying now. And Aoi thinks about how she she was so sure that this was "right".

Aoi: Why? I just wanted to understand you...Are harmony and cooperation...so wrong? Piedmon: You think a human like you could ever understand me? Don't be stupid! Aoi: (This can't be real...That means everything I realized, it was all...a lie?)

Aoi: (Was I wrong this entire time? Is it possible for me to save anyone...?) Aoi: Someone, please..Tell me the right answer!

Takuma and the others arrive but, there too late, both of them are succumbing to there wounds, in there last moments they try to reach out to each other. Kaito tells Miu to let them be with each other in there last moments.

But Aoi isn't done yet, she can't die yet.

Not when she still doesn't know what she did wrong.

Aoi: (Why? Was I wrong...? Please...teach me what's right...) Aoi: (I thought we could all work together...Make it through this together...)

Aoi: (It doesn't matter if we're human or not. We just have to understand each other...right?) Aoi: (We have to come together, become one...Yes...I'd only just realized that...) Aoi: (Where did I got wrong? Or was I wrong from the very beginning...?) Aoi: (Is that why I lost Saki? Lost everyone? Why I couldn't even protect Labramon?) Aoi: (I don't...want to die!) Aoi: Lab..ra...mon.. ------------------------------ Aoi: (Ah...I can feel Labramon's paw on my hand. My partner...I...don't want to die...) Aoi: (I want to live...not die. Was I wrong this whole time? What was I supposed to...?) Aoi: (Idon'twanttodieIdon'twanttodieIdon'twanttodieIdon'twanttodieIdon'twanttodieIdon'twanttoDIIIIIE!)

And this, is when we meet Plutomon.

Generally speaking, most Biomerges are proof the bond between two partners. This one is no different. Plutomon is created by the trust between Labramon and Aoi and the desire to fulfill Aoi's wish, to create a peaceful world.

Thus, Plutomon is everything Aoi thinks she should be and has the power to bring forth the new world Aoi wants. Plutomon is noticeably more forceful and ruthless than Aoi or Labramon ever was. Killing Piedmon without even a hint of remorse. Plutomon doesn't seem like the Aoi we've known over the course of the game, even Plutomon says that she "cast off that weak persona" Except, she is still Aoi. A twisted version yes, but still Aoi. Notably, Plutomon keeps Aoi's friendly and polite manner of speaking and still has Aoi's voice, if filtered. And like Aoi, Plutomon is still concerned with having "the right answer"

Plutomon: I see it all so clearly now. hehehe...This was the right answer all along! Plutomon: Looks like I was never wrong after all!

Plutomon's goal is to fulfill Aoi's dream of peace and harmony. Through forced assimilation, Plutomon believes that if they all become one the world could be at peace. Because if there all together why would they fight? Plutomon plans to go to The Master, and take his power for herself, and no one can stop her. When we meet Plutomon again she's absorbed The Master's Kenzoku, something Haru describes to be akin to oblivion. They fight against Aoi and are eventually able to defeat her. Kaito even offers to kill her, to put her out of her misery, if she doesn't change her mind but Takuma stops him, intent on getting Aoi back.

But Aoi won't budge. Because she's right! How can they not see it, the only reason why everyone's been dying is because she's let others be wrong. Even though it seems like Aoi is now fully blaming everyone else for what's happened She's Still Blaming Herself! Even after she decides everyone should become "her" for the sake of peace. Aoi can't stop blaming herself, except, instead of saying that she was wrong, she says that it's because she let others be wrong. But there conversation gets interrupted, there dragged into the Master's realm, and Aoi is getting "absorbed" by The Master. But that's really just a ploy, Aoi is using there compassion and loyalty against them so that they will weaken The Master For Her, and let her absorb him. Giving her all the power she needs to absorb Everyone.

Aoi knew they'd do it, and she's so proud of knowing, so excited to tell them what they just helped her with. Aoi could of only did this with them after all, why wouldn't she thank there contributions to her dream?

Aoi is...too far gone now, she can hear the voices of all her friends suffering and yet she doesn't register them. She just wants everyone to realize how wrong they are, and join her. She's treating them like children, telling them that they need to "learn from there mistakes". So they fight, because they can't let her do this, and they win.

Aoi: That's...weird. I wasn't...supposed to...make any more..mistakes... Kaito: There's no such thing as someone who never makes mistakes! I mean, look at me...

Kaito: I messed up so many times, but you were all there to tell me when I was wrong. Aoi: I only...I only wanted you...to know...how I felt... Aoi: But that...made me...a burden... Minoru: Hey, you were the one who supported us more than anyone! Minoru: We would've happily supported you right back! You never had to worry about being a burden!

It turns out, Aoi was never in danger of being abandoned by her friends. But she's dying now, and her final words is an apology.

They can go home now but, no one is happy. They couldn't save Aoi, or Miyuki, or Saki, or Shuuji, or Ryo.

But, the worlds are fusing now, and, Aoi's dream of a peaceful world wasn't that bad.

The world they go back to is a chaotic one, people with partners are captured and hunted down, people are fighting, the world is a unstable one.

While Wrathful is one of the more depressing endings, it's still a hopeful ending, because the group are still fighting for a better world. There a revolutionary group, fighting against the oppressive government and taking in people who just met there partners. So that they could support them and prevent a tragedy like Aoi's from happening again.

And eventually, to create Aoi's ideal world, where everyone can live together in harmony.

Ending Notes: I am, not familiar with Saki, at all, so talking about her is actually very new to me, hope I did well.

Something I'm still not clear on is that...we see the character's get dragged into the floor, leaving blood on said floor. Is this what literally happens or is it just a representation for the sake of clarity? Because I am not exactly sure. I'm a good 90% sure that Plutomon's whole thing is a plot of a Star Trek Episode but I'm not sure which one, maybe a borg one who knows?

Wrathful is admittedly my favorite route so Had to start with it, there are so many thoughts that aren't included here because I need to finish this on time. Hope you enjoy it! You and Ichika were having your classic practice date when both of you just played ransoms songs which happen to be mostly Miku songs on guitars and sometimes even singing them!

You decided to surprise your girlfriend by randomly playing one of the songs that always caught your heart, "Therefore You and Me", also known as "Yueni Yuu en Mi". At first she looked at you in slight confusion but soon recognizes the song and grabs her own guitar swiftly joining your play. As for singing, she let you finish first verse with admirable smile and joined you in the chorus.

As for second verse, it was you who let her take the main part as you sang side lines.

"hitori no ohashi ♪~~"

"sun tarazu de ♪~"

"hitori no kutsu ♪~~"

"chikara busoku de ♪~"

It's easy to say both of you had lots of fun doing so! And surprisingly, you didn't even talked about who sing what part in song and yet you were guessing extremely well! As if you had plenty of practice when it was just random song you thought of in the moment.

You managed to convince Nene to do a mini concert with you! You know she's not the most confident when it comes to private concerts like that, and it's rare to even catch her humming when she knows there's someone else around. But since she asked you to help her with confidence a bit... that's actually a great practice!

The moment you two were together, you grabbed your guitar and notes.

"Ready Nene?"

"Y-Yeah... I think so..!"

And that was the moment when you began to play! It was a while untill she began to sing along. In fact, it was a bit awkward at first but soon she got comfortable and you could hear she was singing a bit more confidently now.

"eien ni eien ni eien ni raburabu? ♪~~"

It was honestly admirable sight because you could for once see her relaxed. Maybe it wasn't anywhere need public solo concert but it definitely was your special moment and one big step forward for your girlfriend!

The idea of singing something together was honestly just a random thought that popped into your mind... "Hey Kanade! Wanna sing 'Yueni Yuu en Mi' with me?"

"Ah- sure, why not! I guess it's time for small break..."

And that was honestly the answer you wanted to hear! So as soon as you hears it, you grabbed your guitar and without second thought began to play the well known song. And your girlfriend for one, was more than happy to sing it along with you!

You knew the gray haired girl hat soothing voice but this song was literally perfect for her voice! You had to be careful not to fall asleep or loose the tempe to her voice.

Well... maybe if you ask she'll agree to hum this song as you nap next to her?

alright, so. I think I am going to give Kaey his own blog, focus on that, and possible a couple other original characters ?? I'm thinking Indi and maybe a few new ones.

I may return to this / my other blogs at some point ( let's be real, I'll probably want to move back in less than a week ;D ) but I think focusing on a couple characters / blogs in particular will be good for me right now, so that's the plan, and when I feel I'm in a better place mentally maybe I'll resume writing more of my kids.
