it's always so interesting to me that The Fae Country™ in ffxiv shadowbringers used to be the first's equivalent of ishgard. like first of all absolutely jarring information to know because i forget it wasn't always snowy all the time and second of all both funny and kinda heartbreaking

#i love how once you learn it's the first equivalent of ishgard you could go 'oh. so this is like what ishgard used to look like'#yeah #and then you learn you cannot in fact see what ishgard used to be from fae country. because fae country #is basically ishgard's reanimated corpse. it Does Not align with anything anymore. it's always been An Aftermath #you cannot under any circumstances go back #idk im making sense. just picture me shaking the game's themes like a dog with a chew toy rn #ffxiv #also just the area aside the fae in shadowbringers are GREAT.#i feel like in a way they were almost making up for how meh the sylphs in arr were.#like theoretically those are the source equivalent of fae but compared to the first it's no contest #the sylphs are like. just guys who happen to be fae. the shadowbringers fae are Alien and will Fucking Get You #and also ate gender for lunch last week #it's great. it's all great. probably my favorite shadowbringers zone so far honestly. there's a reason it's my blog desktop background
