jun can feel the way his heart is shaking now. how can one person make him feel so small and shy...? he isn't sure. all he knows is that every time the two of you talk, he feels that shakiness come back, the anxiety building within him. at first, he thought it had to be something else: you were smart. cool. intimidating in that way people can be sometimes when you wish you were more like them. and yet you were always kind, to him and to others, in a way that made his heart flutter in his chest. it wasn't until he was talking to his friends that he realized exactly what he felt toward you.

and last week, jeonghan was the one who whispered that he thinks you feel the same. "they're... different with you," was what he had said, a hand resting between jun's shoulder blades. "it's hard to describe, but i think it's a little obvious."

and now he's spilled coffee all over the counter and the side of his hand. you're holding his hand by the wrist under cold water in the back of the shop, and he sees the way it runs over the tips of your fingers. he knows soonyoung and wonwoo are out in the storefront, cleaning up his mess. he knows jihoon probably took over the register for you. and he's just a mess underneath your touch, heart racing at you doing basic first aid for him. he can't tell you that it's all because he heard the way soonyoung made you laugh, and today it affected him more than normal.

"you don't have to do this," he says quietly. maybe if you go back out there, he'll calm down and manage to pull through the rest of this shift. it's not the first time he's burned himself while on the job. he's just lucky it wasn't that bad.

"i want to." your fingers grow just a little tighter around his wrist, angling his hand a little better. "does it still hurt?"

he shakes his head. a moment later, he shifts his weight from leg to leg, and leans against the edge of the sink. "thank you."

to his surprise, you just lean over, head resting against him. "of course. i'd do anything for you. i care about you a lot, jun."

and it's a confession, he thinks. it feels more weighted than your usual words. he's heard you say sweet things to the others, but not like this. you're so serious and careful in saying something but not too much. he just wraps his arm around you, letting you stay as close as you want.

"... i'm free for dinner tonight," he says after a moment. "i'll, um, i'll buy. just to say thanks."

you just smile, and stay close. "alright... but we split the bill on future dates, alright?"

and, oh, the way he smiles lights up the room. "alright. then... it's a date."

hi pookie! unrelated to fanfic but i think you were in a gap year earlier and now ur bio says ur a med student. did u get into med school? if so, congrats!!!

actually i'm also in a gap yr and i was wondering how you made sure to be productive every day? like im literally rotting in bed every day lmao bc my day has no structure. sorry if this is too personal and if it is feel free to ignore!!

oh that's awesomee first of all congratulations on graduating!! that's a wonderful accomplishment. i'm assuming it's only been a couple months since you've graduated? there's no harm at all in taking a break

but yea i think the straightforward answer haha: probably working a job will give you the most structure. i worked full time at a clinic that was a little further away from my house so it ended up eating up a lot of my weekdays (leave house at 7am come home at 6pm type thing) but it was great for the structure and purpose. if you're not feeling like you can work a full time job, then you can work part time too. i left my full time job and started working at a research lab part time and it was a really nice balance of structure to rest before starting school

i'm not sure what your circumstances are, or if working is in your capacities at the moment, but yea like whether you're currently job hunting (i know how bad the job market can be ahhh) or if you're studying for the mcat or whatever you're doing in your gap year, i think the best way to have structure without work is cultivate a good morning routine and cultivate your hobbies. i found most days i would wake up at 6am i'd have much more productive days than days where i'd sleep in to 9/10am and then i'd just feel awful and rot in bed the rest of the day haha. so if you can just get that first couple of hours of the day right, i think you'll be in a good position. but yea cultivating hobbies is also important bc we all crave/need purpose in life, and i think a hobby is great way to have that if you're not getting it from career sources.

yeah and like idk if this is more random advice but i think my biggest piece of advice i'd give someone in their gap year is to just kinda take the time to get to know yourself? get to know what gives you energy and excitement or what interests you. i think you can find this out by testing hobbies, reading books, going out and experiencing stuffs. as premeds, i think undergrad can really suck the soul out of you and make you lose touch w yourself w all the pressures and time spent working towards your application, so having that time during your gap year to just kinda chill n recenter yourself is super precious n valuable.

don't worry too much if you're having days where you're resting, but i think the important distinction to make is: are you resting because it's a voluntary action that you want to do, or are you resting because you're putting off other things? asking yourself that question really helps put power back into your hands to improve your day to day, especially when you're struggling to find structure or purpose

hiii jestie for completely normal reasons and only purely out of curiosity wld u mind listening to tchaikovsky's the seasons (esp june - barcarolle) n tell me what ur fav part is? asking for a friend

okay what struck me about june was how immediately beautiful it was? it's the kind of tune that you don't have to warm up to, it's simple (simple enough that after the first time I listened to it I was like 😳what if I spent the next few months trying to learn how to play this) (I'm an amateur pianist who likes to brute force myself though pieces that are objectively above my skill level ajdbdbdjks). anyway what i'm trying to get at is it's SWEET and not only that it's immediately sweet!!!

the left hand at the very beginning here reminds me of the beginning of the tchaik romance in f minor although that's maybe me being like [man who only listens to three classical pieces finds comparisons in their basic music theory] but anyway both of these pieces sound incredibly sad to me.

and thats what I found most interesting about it!! when I think JUNE I think happy summer yay yay!! but honestly I thought this was the saddest sounding out of all of them? and I mean some of that probably comes with the performer's own discretion with the push and pull of the tempo. but like. damn. it really sounds like something's dying. mr. tchaik hello.

okay my favorite part!! I really liked this part (exactly a minute in on the recording I listened to, but the same thing repeats about 3 minutes in) where we alternate between g and d between the right and left hands:

I reeeeally like how that sounds. and especially the emotional effect that's achieved when you pull the tempo back a bit. like you're trying to reach for something and don't quite get there the first time and have to try again.

i haven’t acc tried using ae yet, your guide gave me a rough idea of where to start, I just haven’t gotten round to it . Truth is I’m so so so soooooo bad w time management and getting stuff done so I couldn’t make any extra passion projects for my portfolio (I ult txt and procrastinate like crazy so put that together with having to prepare for a 6hr exam) 😭

I had this really cool idea for an Ateez zine but all I’ve done is the cover roughly and nothing else - so I just quickly made a few things and compiled school and personal stuff together and sent it off, im really bummed out about the zine because it’s something I would’ve really put my all in and be so proud of but I didn’t wanna rush it and not be proud of it 🥲 if I ever make it I’ll be sure to show you!

On the bright side I made this fairy of shampoo poster that I love and a Polaroid love poster that I made on a whim-that oddly turned out really good that I sent off, but i wanted to animate it which I ended up not doing….. I’ll get round to it eventually…..

I have 2 offers tho! Just not from where I wanna go lmao, I should have the rest by the end of March so fingers crossed..

this could be the weirdest question you’ve ever gotten but like, how do u sort all your gfx stuff..? Like resources wise (colourings, pngs, elements) idk if I’m using the right terms but you get what I’m saying right?

I do have them in folders but most of the time I go on downloading sprees and then I end up leaving everything over the place - I may have just answered my own question but I’m just wondering what works for you or if you know anyone that has anything organised in a specific way where it’s easy to navigate, u know?
