I made this because I've seen multiple fanarts of Jonathan with all the later jojos as kids, and they usually make Johnny a kid too! But Johnny is also an old man with his many descendants and now must feel the burden of fatherhood

My fav is Stone Ocean! Not necessarily by writing merit (although i do like the way its written sometimes over the other parts) but just by how much brainrot its given me. Also its got my fav jojo and jofoe.

// That’s the beautiful part: it could be anything! For this devotional, I want there to be as few restrictions and barriers to my creativity as possible. I have so many art supplies and resources I’ve been meaning to use, and I think giving myself a daily excuse to play around and have fun is good medicine. There could even be works that aren’t visual art, such as writing, music, who even knows what I’ll come up with! Some of these works will almost assuredly suck ass, some may be the greatest thing since sliced bread: I cannot guarantee which is which, but I will assure you I’ll show up every day with Something.

★ Why Johnny Joestar? // For starters: I think keeping the subject matter consistent is a really good benchmark to have from drawing to drawing. You know WHO to expect, but the shapes, colors, references and methods in which he’s drawn may vary wildly, which should be fun to watch unfold. 

It also probably goes without saying, but you have to REALLY like a character to be able to commit to something like this. I have a very difficult time explaining in words why I love Johnny without it sounding esoteric, but I assure you I love him a supreme amount and I find a great deal of inspiration in him. His sense of determination is so captivating and I see such a beautiful light in him, so I want to hone in on that and pull off my own great feat like him! Hopefully my art and hunger will show you what my words struggle to say.

★ Can I suggest an idea for a work?

// Yes!! Feel free to send ideas to my Tumblr inbox, the only requirement is that it must feature Johnny Joestar; though you can suggest characters he interacts with! Prompts, poses, expressions, tools, are all open to suggestion.

Keep in mind, I am under zero obligation to do any request, and some of them might be difficult if not impossible to pull off if I don’t have the specified conditions available, but who knows, you might spark something in me! If your idea is used, it will be credited.

(I’m gonna mention this preemptively: I have not started reading Jojolion yet. So I politely ask that no prompts involve anything beyond part 7, as I'm trying to avoid spoilers. I will edit this section once I have finished part 8.)

★ Why are you doing this?

// Despite the fact that I am posting these publicly, this is something purely for me. My greatest expectation with this devotional is to have a death of the audience moment with these pieces, not caring if the art I’m making is “good” or will be “well received”, simply that it comes from the Heart; that is why this practice was founded.

My own personal struggles with my art in recent years have come from an anxiety of trying to fit some kind of standard that was self imposed by my own expectations of what I thought others wanted of me, stifling my creative spark by chasing after dollar signs and being a Presentable Brand™. I forgot art was fun. I forgot who I am. This daily practice is how I remember. This is my form of prayer, hence why I’m calling this landing place a “shrine”.

Admittingly, the timing is very ripe to do this in 2025. Steel Ball Run’s manga is finally releasing in English in May, and it’s incredibly likely the Steel Ball Run anime is getting announced on JoJo Day in April. The hype for these things isn’t something for me to cash in on, more like it fuels me and inspires me. I’ve had moments in my life where it felt very hard to go on, but having something to look forward to in the future would always reframe things. I want to keep living and doing my best so I can hold that hardcover manga in my hands and be there when the anime finally drops because this story and its characters mean the world to me!

★ Why do this daily?

// I have done a few private daily drawing and meditation challenges before, and it’s a rewarding feeling to have done a little something each day that adds to your growth. I’m also a bit of a recovering perfectionist, and I fear that if I gave myself a challenge that required more time (let’s say, a Johnny once a week) it might make me lean into my perfectionistic tendencies. I’m already well aware I can sit my ass down for 20+ hours and make something nice, I don’t need to keep proving that. I’m trying to do the opposite: I want to be able to loosen up with my drawing, make peace with making mistakes, be a little bit more vulnerable and sloppy and silly with my soul’s expression. My hope is that by the end of 2025, the vessel of all the collective art will take me into a greater understanding of myself and the world.

★ Why post these publicly if it’s something just for you?

// I feel like the last few years of my life, I’ve kept myself rather obscured and tucked away parts of myself that felt too authentic and vulnerable. But it’s 2025 now, I think it’s time we unlearn shame and do as we please. I asked myself in earnest what I wanted to do in the new year, and he replied “I just wanna draw pictures of Johnny. :D”, so who am I to ignore that request? I have so much love in my heart for Johnny and my art that it'd be a shame not to share them with the world; in fact, I don't think I even could, and so I must share.

★ Do you have any alternative goals to do anything with the works produced here?

// I have a personal project that I require a lot of still images of Johnny for which will assuredly contain art from the shrine, however at this time no concrete planning towards that has been made. I also think collecting everything into a book may be fun, whether it be for sale or just for myself.

★ Have you considered selling merch or selling off originals?

Merch isn’t out of the question (I do make it for a living) but I’m really trying to approach this act of devotion as “expression first, outcome second”. My hope is that if merch does arise, it’s mostly a happy accident that it ended up that way or something that my heart wants.

JJBA Binary Stars: JuJou

(If you saw me repost this, no you didn't, I made some minor changes and additions and wanted make a better first post!)

I've been working on a Jojo Fan Part for quite some time now and I'm finally starting to get around to drawing the characters so that I can introduce them and talk about theProject!!! Also, if you follow my lovely partner @xxbattiepupxx you've probably seen him drawing one of the stand users for said fan part!!! ;)

In any case, the part is called Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Binary Stars and it takes place in the post-reset universe along side Steel Ball Run, Jojolion, and Jojolands! In terms of setting, Binary Stars takes place after the events of Jojolion and before Jojolands! Though Binary Stars starts off in Japan, it's in Okinawa instead of Morioh!

Jumi Joumae (Otherwise known as JuJou) is our protagonist Jojo! She has a twin sister named Jien who I'll talk about more in a following post. but the focus is on Jumi! My biggest inspiration for starting Binary Stars is that I really like how Golden Wind was heavily inspired by Y2K fashion, so I wanted to make a fan part that incorporates characters that are each based on/affiliated with a different genre of alternative fashion!

Now, without further ado, allow me to introduce JuJou and IT GIRL!

Jumi Joumae (Jujou)

Role: Protagonist/Jojo Age: 21 Pronouns: She/Her (Cis Girl) Fashion Style: Kogyaru

Jumi is a Kogal who, despite having graduated High School, continues to dress in kogal style into her early adulthood. She's very ambitious, and though her dreams of stardom and fame are far-fetched she takes them very seriously and won't let anyone talk her down from it. In fact, she's extremely protective of this dream. Anyone who makes fun of her or tries to tell her that her goals are unrealistic will discover that she can be quite confrontational. She remembers everyone who's ever laughed at her dream and holds grudges, frequently using her stand to cause trouble and mischief for them as well as just being plain petty in her interactions with them. Personality-wise, she's sort of like a fusion of Giorno and Josuke. Jumi is currently enrolled in a local college in Nagasaki for her General Studies Degree, but she has her sights set on a performing arts school in Tokyo. 

Jumi’s stand first appeared when she was around 13 years old. She’s never told anyone about it other than Jien, who of course didn’t believe her at first. It took about 3 months, but Jumi had finally gotten Jien to believe her about the “Pretty ghost lady” that lets her turn things into diamonds.Jien was never able to see IT GIRL since Jien hadn’t yet developed her own stand.

- Japanese (Has the littlest bit of White blood from Johnny but that’s a good few generations up the tree) - Younger twin to Jien by 30 minutes - Great-Great-Grandaughter of Johnny Joestar (Daughters of one of his unnamed descendants), Distant cousin to Jodio Joestar and Josuke "Gappy "Higashikata - Visually Inspired by Red Beryl (Houseki no Kuni), Clover (Zero Escape 999), and Yumemi Yumemite (Kakegurui) - Personality Inspired by Saki Tenma (Project Sekai) and Junko Enoshima (Danganronpa)

IT GIRL

Stand Name: IT GIRL Namesake: IT GIRL - Aliyah’s Interlude Ability:

Anything Jumi or IT GIRL touches turns into hardened diamond. Jumi can choose the color of said diamond, and if she deactivates her stand or if the target leaves her range, the diamond will revert back to what it was before. IT GIRL’s range is 5 meters (15 feet) in which her stand can not exit that range. IT GIRL's diamonds are neither flexible nor breakable.

In terms of stands being an extension of the user’s soul, IT GIRL represents how Jumi is casual, friendly, and laidback most of the time but how she toughens and shines under pressure and scrutiny. While diamonds can be pretty and shine like a star, they also have a sharp edge- like Jumi. 

While Jumi is more aligned with Kogal, IT GIRL is more aligned with the more dramatic Yamanba style of Gyaru.

And there's Jumi!! Next up is Jien, so I hope people will look forward to that!! I've been working on this fan part for a quite a bit now and have made not only main Jojo, Antag, and Jobros but also many minor stand users!!! I'm excited to finally start telling my story!!!! >w<

how did you get into jba/splatoon?

Jojo i got into in 2022 in summer. Around that time my girlfriend was getting back into it herself and she was sharing it with me. She was talking a lot about rohan and jojolion which was the thing that peaked my interest the most, as well as the artwork for jojo in general. I was excited to get closer to jojolion with every part i watched/read lol. And also i really loved the art and designs.

Splatoon i got into in 2018 also in summer. It was exactly 14th august (my sisters birthday lol) when i got a switch and splatoon with it. I think after octo expansion came out i kept seeing it on my twitter timeline and it really peaked my interest, i dont even know what it was about but i really wanted it all of a sudden, and i never was much into video games and i didnt think id feel the need to get a console for that, but the feeling was so strong even though i barely knew anything about it before
