Can I talk about something completely out of left field at 1 in the morning-- I need to discuss a character from that fighting game i've been talking about.

I would love to draw art of him he's just a little outside my range so idk if I can quite pull him off um-- but if I do, I don't want you caught off guard as to who he is lmao.

The easy favorite is Eleanora, she's easy to draw, the classic gangster lady, her story mode is very funny and a little touching in its own right. But this guy named Adrik the Arcane, despite being easily the silliest looking character in the roster, has the most strangely emotional story arc on fast forward crushed into his 15 part story mode I've ever seen.

He's a circus owning magician who, it turns out, is in hiding from a secret society of assassins, ( he's in disguise, so that's why his face looks a little silly ) of whom kidnapped and brainwashed him as a child, he was very good at it, so he was tasked with killing the highest political authority in the game, but fumbled it and accidentally killed ( or so he thinks ) their young daughter. This kickstarts every single thing that happens in the game, making him the single most important character on the roster. This triggers in him a sudden onset of extreme guilt for his entire past, causing him to run away to start the circus, where he adopts a girl ( in denial, but he clearly cares deeply about her and he dies protecting her in half the story routes not his own ) who becomes a strongwoman because she lost their entire family due to just- unacceptably poor infrastructure in the city-- in which he now has to deal with the reality that his mere existence in her life, and the other circus friends he cares about, paints a target on their backs while juggling almost crippling self loathing, a desire to care for the found family that is his circus, and the circus itself representing the childhood wonder he never experienced as a child. He seems to have made some unspecified deal with Satan himself in order to have magician powers but that's just never discussed. Also, possibly, if you'd like the added drama, an unknown past relationship with one of the other assassins still in the group that he talks into leaving said group right before dying once again in that character's story route.

So I don't know how many tumblr sexyman archetypes he checked off in just 40 minutes of gameplay, but he was certainly a surprise gut punch as someone who was expecting........ lighthearted circus fun pfft
