I wasn't very active here until recently as I've fallen into the DGM rabbit hole for the 4th time (or maybe more lmao). I've read a couple of fanfics, binge watched the last episodes of the old anime (Attack of HQ) + the 2nd season. I've also rewatched episodes when Allen was in the Asian Branch today. I feel very nostalgic I guess lol. I really miss seeing the squad together, interactions with the HQ's Science Division, etc. There's so much angst, much more compared to before (I don't keep up with the latest chapters but that's my impression) 😭

Hi! Thanks for the ask! I'm doing alright, had a little bit of extra time recently so reread the manga finally after a few years i think? Very nostalgic for sure but also it really does hit different as i get older and the fact that theyre child soldiers sinks in a bit more ;v;

I do miss the more like laid back moments where everyone's a little more chill and less uhhhh constantly suffering but idk when we'll get back to that in the story. im so sorry to be a mythal lover like my icon and url suggest but i genuinely think her relationship with solas in this game was one of its best writing moments and specifically their confrontation is the highlight of this game for me and i have to talk about it.

it is so fucked up and tragic and raw. it shows us a side of him we have never seen before. she is so brutal but also somehow kind. she is probably the most complex and nuanced character in the entire dragon age universe. what she did to him was inexcusable and she takes full accountability for it but she also does not apologize. its SO INTERESTING!!! ITS SO INTERESTING!!!!

i love that she does not apologize. it would have been out of character. she isnt sorry and she never was, but she at least takes accountability for what she did to him and the effect it had. she does not offer meaningless platitudes of sorrow. why would she??? she just plainly states the truth.

AND THEN YOU HAVE THIS NEXT. THE WAY THEY ARE THE INVERSE. mythal stands over him and looks down upon him, while lavellan literally GETS ON HER KNEES TO SEE HIS FACE. TO LOOK HIM IN THE EYE. BRO THIS IS SO SICKENING. once again it mimics the way they kneel in trespasser, the way they kneel when he removes her vallaslin. and even though he's not kneeling he is bent over in agony and she is quite literally meeting him where he is at ohhhh myg od

and then when it is finally his time to address her directly he looks her right in the eye, his face is calm and not wretched like before when he looked upon mythal, im literally so sick over this look like how long has it been since they stood face to face like this, 8 years????? i havent even gotten into the way his face is bloodied and bruised like this is so vulnerable im literally dying i dont even remember what my point was with writing this i just needed to scream about it. i think mythal's presence here gives so much context to solavellan's dynamic. seeing how he is with mythal versus with lavellan back to back, how mythal speaks down to him while lavellan literally looks up to him. also something something about how lavellan offers him forgiveness while mythal offers him freedom. maybe i can make these thoughts more coherent in like a week from now but right now im running on 3 hours of sleep and pure dopamine. this scene is so fucking crazy i love it.

I saw someone else on here saying how Rick needs someone with a different moral compass to go with him on adventures because otherwise it'd be an echo chamber of bad decisions, and thats why he brings Morty (very outspoken against him) rather than Summer (very often outspoken against him, however very much aligns with his violent impulses)

and I agreed with that, however I wanted to add my own theory as to why he brings only Morty, which kind of goes along with theirs.

I lost their post/url so I dont know who it is who posted that, but if I find it ill reblog with a link to their post, or if one of you find it youre welcome to do that for me !!

okay, so. it seems to me that another reason Rick would take Morty most times and not usually Summer is not only because Summer is more likely to become a moral echo chamber, but because Morty is the most likely in the family to not end up another Rick.

let me explain what I mean:

Rick has witnessed the citadel and how that ended up, he's implied to have witnessed the deaths of so many people (not just Ricks) for being too confident in their smarts. he knows that his life style kind of ruins you if youre as smart as he is because you start getting to know that you are.

this won't happen with Morty.

Morty is a lot of things; resourceful, highly adaptive, good in combat (when he can be), quick on his feet and passionate. but one thing he isnt, is like Rick.

Morty gets none of his traits from Beth or Rick. he isnt inhumanely smart (in fact its canon that he's quite the opposite), he isnt predisposed to being cold and uncaring, he isnt as impulsive (he still is, just not as much), the list goes on.

not only are Summer and Beth predisposed to end up like Rick, they have, on many occasions, acted exactly how Rick would've acted in situations. and to me, it seems like that scares him.

Morty however is very different to Rick, and Rick knows that very few Mortys ever end up even a fraction of the man he is.

Mortys are not predisposed to end up cold and uncaring, in fact Mortys are predisposed to be the exact opposite. Mortys are "hardwired for forgiveness." theyre empathetic, loving, forgiving. Mortys rarely harden into the kind of person Rick is, or the kind of person Summer and Beth would be.

Morty is the obvious answer to who Rick should rely on - he'll never be bad. Morty is good at his core. at least most of them are, of course just like there's outlier Ricks (c-137 himself), there's outlier Mortys, but as a general statement, Mortys are good at their core.

kind of off topic, but I also beleive that c-137 is good at his core.

let me explain.

he is, by admission, a different kind of Rick. he wanted to stay home, to be there for the girls, he was even willing to give up his dream of science just to be there for him.

when they died, so did a part of him.

he lost the love of his life, and he lost his daughter. he lost his perfect little family.

and what did he do ? go insane trying to find the person who did this to him, and get rid of them.

the things he did on the way were kind of a "in the grand scheme of things" type of situation.

again another blog already said this (here) (hopefully that worked), but when Prime said he c-137 could've been him- he already was. he was in the exact same situation that Prime was. he offered someone infinity, and they rejected it. but instead of going the way Prime did, which was killing the people around Bird Person to force him to travel infinity anyways, he just moved on. he got upset at first and tossed some weak insults, but he moved on. because, as the above post says, its not that big of a deal. it wasn't the end of the world for him.

now, im not saying c-137 has never done anything wrong. hes done a lot of things wrong. what I am saying is he's good at his core; his goal was never and still isn't just to hurt people. his goal is revenge and in his eyes, its a ticking time bomb. anyone in his way has to be swiftly dealt with because he's running out of time.

also - of course he can't show how much he loves Morty. he doesnt know if Prime is still watching him, but he does know that the Omega Device could very well still be on operation, and he finds out he was correct in this assumption in Ultmortricken.

if he had shown his love for Morty often at all, who knows what Prime would've done with that information.

i'm just gonna make a post once again trying to clarify all this nonsense. since yall dont provide any evidence or context to your claims i'll do it.

it’s the 2022 emas and taylor goes to the show. if you remember what she wore it was a really low-cut dress and her cleavage was prominent. fans loved the look and saying she looked hot, never had an issue with that!!. if you watch any clips from that red carpet- she is visibly uncomfortable with how much cleavage she has out. it’s obvious the dress was a last minute thing, she’s taking pictures with fans on the carpet and hiding her chest from photos taken up high, and when she gets into the show she changes into another look pretty quickly. bc i hadnt been online i looked at the taylor swift tag to catch up, went under recent posts and saw fans being very sexual of taylor- not the normal funny stuff either, like joking about motorboating her, zooming in to just her boobs, going as far to say they wanted to trap her, etc etc, stuff i thought took it too far and her also being uncomfortable with in the dress to start with made it worse. so i posted that some people were going a little too far and in the tags said it was giving straight men ignoring obvious signs a women is uncomfortable to hit on them. an anon message me and said that the ‘straight man’ comment could come off homophobic and i agreed, apologized, and deleted it immediately. a blog with a history of misrepresenting my words, misunderstanding me and just going with it, somehow saw it and just starts posting about how i was terrible and homophobic, that i was calling gay people gross and said i even compared them to pedophiles. literally none of that happened. here is a screenshot of my post (minus the straight man comment)

again- speaking in reference to the people who were literally saying they wanted to harm her in the dress. not just saying she's hot.... none of that mattered. i dont care that you thought she looked hot- she did. i cared about how she was literally hiding her chest and then people online were screenshotting it and zooming in.

Because that's all you give by leaving these kinds of comments. A very sad and empty feeling in my chest that makes me want to scream. Of course, it doesn't help that the comment was left on a fic where these were literally all the comments before it

(The last one i cut off because it just was a suggestion of where the story should go)

Now, i removed the urls bc i do not have anything against these people. It's not about them. This type of stuff shows up in almost every fic of mine.

And yes, obviously I appreciate the thought behind the fact someone wants to read more of my writing but I also cannot stop the feeling of how little the work i actually have put out is valued.

Maybe it is a short fic of not even a thousand words (although I have also gotten these demands on fics reaching 15k in word count) but it still takes time and effort and energy. Especially with requests, its difficult to write something you know another person has thought of, has expectations for... There is always doubt in my mind when I post a request that I failed the person who wanted the story because it's not what they expected. It's nervewrecking. So yeah, seeing people enjoy the story and wanting more definitely dissipates that constant worry But (there's always a but y'all)

A writer has their own ideas of how a story should go. Even if its a request, you get to interpret that in your own way (previously mentioned anxieties follow up later) and hopefully those interpretations will be appreciated. That includes the plot. And the plot includes, you guessed it, a beginning and an ending.

As the writer, I decide when and how the story ends.

By getting comments such as the ones I put above, I just get constant reminders shot in my face that no one really cares. Not just about me- hell, i dont care about myself- but about writers in general. No one cares about the actual creativity of the writing or the processes. Yall just want your free content, which is understandable in this economy, and then move on.

I could blame this on the Story Time/Like for Part Two internet culture and maybe I am. Hopefully you can see the comparison, especially with how on Tiktok all content constantly seems to be accumulating into series and parts and just never ending. All a person has to do is comment "pt 2 pls" and like it and done.

Just consider that, you get to enjoy something that is given to you completely for free, no questions asked. So why dont you actually enjoy it? Why does there have to always be more? (And if so, why cant the "more" be the already existing catalogues of the writers on here? Or did you skim through all that already -sorry im getting pissed off now, sleep deprivation)

Anyway, i'm tired and dont make any sense. Besides, i cant and wont police people around on here. read the stuff you want, comment all you want, but dont forget that the people writing the stories you like are also human with their own ideas and emotions. Not machines who can print out words at any given command.

This song's had Dark in a fuckin chokehold the past few days ajahdhdjsdjdjsjd the lyrics REALLY like,, put the love and devotion (and. obsession.) she feels for people into perspective, he feels! Growing up we never really cared much for this song but something about it just clicked one night and now it's one of our most played songs this past week DHDJSJSIDJZ

Next up is a softer NIN track, Lights In The Sky! I wasn't around for this but I have memories of this song helping us with a really bad break-up,, despite the lyrics hinting towards this song being about drugs apparently JFHDJSFJ. The way this one is played is super pretty, definitely gives off space vibes, and it's one of our go-to songs for helping put us to sleep!

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

gestures at my URL. stan gideon the first!!! pyrrha compares him to wake (the woman who impregnated herself for a shot at killing john. also underrated btw) in his willingness to burn for what he believes in, which indicates a really fiery personality hidden under 10,000 years of dissociation and i wish people were more interested in exploring that. i also think he's so clearly set up as a parallel to harrow - a genius of a failed lyctor who's spent most his life (ten THOUSAND years) struggling with a memory that lies to him, so it's deeply unfortunate that he mostly gets reduced to "muscular boring guy." ALSO as aster's pointed out by failing to fully ascend to lyctorhood he is literally The queer-coded lyctor straddling the line between (and often performing a dual role of) necromancer and cavalier. i could go on about this forever but i need everybody to start caring 150% more abt g1deon right tf now.

i don't understand the flattening out of griddlehark as a ship in general but i specifically don't understand the desire to paint gideon as a dumb jock golden retriever girlfriend. she's a complex character who is very frequently snarky and bad-tempered (as she should be!) and is smarter than the fandom gives her credit for, and i feel like people really don't like to engage with all those complexities and i don't get it.

Ok this is random again but I need to confess. I never liked sasuke and his character but that is because I was overall frustrated with kishimoto's writing of his own characters, however my opinion of a character tends to sway dramatically if i hear reasons from a huge fan of said character so i thought to ask you: why is he your favorite? what do you like about him? is there any particular sentiment that made your url a reality ( this isnt meant to be rude but im genuinely curious !!!)

with that being said i refuse to acknowledge Boruto sasuke because thats just not the same person. and i dont mean character development or anything i mean that is straight up a different person! so i wont even get into that lol anyway

sasuke has always been my favorite to some extent- i have an older brother who would make me watch Naruto with him and while i wasn't interested in the show i thought sasuke was sooo cute! ive always loved the emo ones lmao

but then i became a fan of the show and actually paid attention to his character and i think its safe to say that hes a big source of catharsis for me? if that makes sense? mainly because of his relationship with itachi. again i have an older brother and the parallels between us are quite strong (he didn't kill anyone or anything like that 😭) just the way sasuke feels about him and how he was The main source of anger and love and how these emotions easily blur together..betrayal..heartbreak (not romantically ofc) ugh.. sasuke lets me explore these hard to deal with emotions so for that he will always be special to me <- guy who needs therapy

also the extreme ways sasuke deals with these hard feelings himself are something i admire no matter how unhealthy and self destructive they are. sasuke is not afraid to pour his all into something. his one track mind is very frustrating but at the same time something i just cant help but admire! he is an extremely dedicated and motivated character and it makes me insane. i also love how hard he tries to appear stoic and put together but little cracks show just how emotional he is. you cant fool me gay boy i see you for the sensitive lil wuss that you are!!!

essentially sasuke is a big 'he just like me fr' character for me which is embarrassing but its too late for shame now!

love him so much you dont even know. i memorized his username (Hirooooo) i think he's cool. i like his inkless office drone title it implies so much about him. projected some of my traits onto him a very long time ago, so he's an autistic trans guy to me. maybe bi. ive mentioned it before but i think he wears his ocho octophones outside of battle and theyre noise cancelling. i think he needs that feature for battles cause oh my goodness there's so many noises in battles sometimes.

of COURSE he uses .96 gal, its iconic as hell. but i think he uses like.. 3 other weapons too. splattershot, mainly because he's been shown with ttek splattershot + he's on the trizooka card (or at least the octoling there has a VERY close resemblance). i think he uses range blaster and dark tetra dualies cause he's been shown with them (the range guess is based on like. 20 pixels from a millisecond of footage though). also i use range and dark tetra..and i thought it was funny

also fun little thought i had the other day: i think he avoids .96 gal deco like the plague. was excited to see it get splash wall but freaked out about kraken royale. picked it up just to find out about the kraken part mid-match and got jumpscared by the transformation. enough to shove somewhere and never think about it again

i dont think he has like, a set in stone team or anything (i dont think any of the splat 3 promo kids do, they all play matches with each other n theyre all friends) but he usually teams up with anemoneno1, takotruck, and c4l4m4r. they have the most toxic synergy ever but thats another story. my interpretation of ane is its own thing too. i think they and hiro hate each other in the friend way. say the rudest shit to each other as a joke then laugh about it.

SPEAKING OF HIS RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER PEOPLE. coming out as a hironika lover. i think he loves veronika so much its unreal. kind of boyfail type of way. they share an apartment w/ ane. sometimes i think about a poly thing between them but i like to think ane's just an onlooker to the frustrating chaos that is the two of them pining on each other in the most obvious way possible. theyre so t4t oh my god. (off topic but im a veronika she/they nonbinary believer forever. i think she's also a girl too but i dont know how to explain that. bigender, demigirl?? hard to label wish i could just let people peer into my brain on that.)
