I started watching the @letshaveabouba livestream on youtube, I'm 2 streams in and its really nice! the only bad thing is that because its a recording of a livestream I can't really add my input or share my ideas so I'm gonna blurt it all here.

The proto inventory they came up with is this:

In their documentation they put /a/ as a low central vowel, so its a classic 5 without /e/, but I decided for me I'll make it a square system, it'll make vowel stuff easier for me - so /i/ /u/ high, /æ/ (a for ease) /ɔ/ (/o/ for ease). I also interpreted the back consonants as +pharyngeal, and split the back non stops as one being a fricative and thr other an approximant, instead of having both be both.

regarding syllable structure, they came up with CCVT. I elaborated on it and made it #CC-VCCV-T#, which stands for:

initial cluster of any 2 different consonants allowed. yes, every cluster, even /jqa/ is allowed, but /tta/ is not.

intervocallic clusters of any 2 different consonants allowed, no 3 or more consonants in a row. so /aqba/ but not /ut.ska/

word finally only single consonants allowed, and specifically only alveolars. /klat/ not /pgum/

regarding sound changes, they talked about tone, and having epinthetic vowels breaking up initial clusters and vowel lowering. These are the sound change I came up with to achieve these goals, and some other stuff that seemed cool to me:

Tonogenesis: high tone after voiceless consonants, low tone after voiced. A voiceless consonant preceded by a voiced one gives low tone, and voiced preceded by voiceless gives high tone: /tá/, /dà/, /ntà/, /kná/. Im pretty sure something similar happens in tibetan, but it has aspiration involved, and im not going to have that, so this is only inspired by it.

voicing assimilation: stops and fricatives assimilate to the voicing of a following consonant of the same cluster. now tone is phonemic :) yay: /kná/ > /gná/, /ztì/ > /stì/, but /ntì/, /lsì/ stay as is.

pharyngeal spreading: a consonant in a cluster with a pharyngealized or back consonant become pharyngeal aswell: /psˁì/ > /pˁsˁì/, /ħɡʷà/ > /ħɡʷˁà/.

epinthetic vowel insertion: a vowel is inserted between all initial clusters. its quality depends on the surounding consonants. if one of them is palatal its /i/, if one of them is labialized velar, its /u/. if its both, it depends on the initial cons. else its /a/: /ctú/ > /citú/, /skʷò/ > /sukʷà/, /wɲù/ > /wuɲù/, /tkú/ > /takú/. idk what tone the new syllable gets I haven't thought about that.

pharyngeal lowering: vowels are lowered as follows after pharyngealized and back consonants: /i/ > /e/, /u/ > /o/, /æ, ɔ/ > /ɑ/. now we have 7 phonetic vowels - /i, u, e, o, ɛ, ɔ, ɑ/ yayyy yippee I love big vowel systemsss!! /tˁicˁá/ > /tˁecˁɑ́/ etc.

/ji/ /wu/ > /i/ /u/: because I don't like those sequances. I also think /wra/ >> /urà/, /jki/ >> /igì/ is pretty cool.

Here the current inventory after these changes:

phonemic destinction between H and L tones

kept the lowered vowels allophones. You could just make pharyngealization go away and phonemicize the vowels but I like this gigantic inventory better lol

Potential /q ħ ʕ/ > /ʔ ∅ ∅/, to make the vowels phonemic. maybe /q/ > /k/. or even /q/ > ∕∅/ aswell?? it'll be a bold decision to make

syllable structure - #CVCCVT#. Initial clusters are now forbidden, but everything else is the same. I think V{j, w, ɰ, ħ, ʔ}C can lead to vowel length or more qualities or something, the sequance has potential.

So yeah this is all the ideas I have in my head rn, I hope it was an interesting read lol. I also recommend you go and watch the streams yourself, the vibe is very nice and help the creative juices flow, like I'm really happy with what I came up with here based on their protolang. it was like a fun colab challenge thing :) here's a link to the channel:

Your phone had been ringing annoying alarms for at least five minutes straight before, but they eventually died out. Your friends must have realized you didn’t want company, which would’ve been good a few minutes ago, but suddenly you felt like you could handle having someone nearby now. And you also NEEDED to have someone nearby now. You decided to text your friends back finally, since you luckily had the strength to move at least.

You opened your phone. 94 messages?! That’s a lot! Well, it had been ringing for 5 minutes straight earlier. You were treated to reading the following messages:

You decided to respond to Magolor. You hadn’t talked to him enough and wanted to get to know him better. The only time you got to talk to him was when Kirby took you to see Merry Magoland, so you didn’t really know him beyond what was probably just a customer-service smile. Although Kirby convinced you two to give each other your phone numbers since he wanted all his friends to be able to contact each other in the event of a new threat that needs the power of friendship to be defeated, neither of you called or texted the other until now.

Well, here goes nothing.

You: i didnt forget i just wasnt feeling up to it… wanna hang out? im feeling a bit better now and would like to get to know you

You were glad dreamland was so peaceful. There was so little crime, people could just go to the houses of almost-strangers! While Magolor was on his way, you texted Kirby an apology for not coming to his picnic. He took it well, but you were still guilty for no good reason.

You hear the doorbell ring, and it was much tougher to get up than it had been to pick up your phone. It felt like your bones were made of lead, and your muscles were feeling weaker than usual. You wanted to cry again. Apparently you weren’t as over your meltdown as you thought, but you still managed to do it and went to the door.

You opened the door, and there he was, waiting patiently. 

You smiled to be polite and greeted, “Hey Magolor.” 

He exclaimed, “Yo, y/n! Doing okay?” 

You answered, “No.” 

He looked sad. 

“Is that why you passed up the opportunity to spend time with Kirby?” 

“Yeah.” 

“Can I come in?”

You just nodded, and moved out of the way to let him in your house.

You closed the door and led him to the couch, where you both sat down. You wanted to ask him if you could vent to him, but you couldn’t possibly ask that. You just met him! Frick, why did you even invite him over just to do nothing?!

Fortunately, being the socially knowledgeable, charismatic person he is, Magolor could tell by your expression and body language, as well as what you told him earlier, that you had something you wanted to tell him, and he knew no one likes an awkward silence. “Wanna talk about it?” He sat there eagerly, ready to take whatever you told him.

“Well… I’m probably depressed. I spent a lot of today crying for no reason, and a bit ago, I’d have probably died if anyone spoke to me. But then I thought I should CALL A BORDERLINE STRANGER TO VENT TO THE SECOND I GOT LONELY, I’M SO SORRY I CALLED YOU HERE-” You started coughing and crying from your little outburst, to which Magolor replied by patting your back to help your respiratory system and worriedly telling you, “It’s okay-” 

“NO IT’S NOT OKAY!” You yelled, and started crying again. He looked concerned before, but now he tried to calm himself down for your sake. He asked, “Can I put my hand on your head for a sec?” You were bewildered, but nodded, still weeping. 

He started petting you. What? He kept doing it. When you were quiet enough to talk to, he reminded you, “Hey. Remember when we met at Merry Magoland? We talked for a little bit. So we’re not borderline strangers. Besides, if we’re in the world where Kirby can instantly convince enemies to become his friend and fight alongside him, we can be friends.”

Oh, he was right wasn’t he? Your wailing slowed to the occasional sob, and you looked at him again. He was still concerned, but happy you were getting better. He continued to pet you, and you quietly reached out and pet him, too. He started PURRING. Oh gosh a kitty! you thought.

In your already emotional state, his cuteness and kindness made you cry again for some reason, but more quietly this time. It seemed like anything would make you want to cry now. He just hugged you (or, pressed his hands against you comfortingly, since he has no arms it’s the closest he can get). “There, there.”

You hugged him back and muttered, “Thank you.”

“Anytime. By the way, my dude, wanna play Minecraft? I’m sure it’ll show us the power of best friends!”

Giggling at the sudden change in vibes and glad to think about something else, you two played minecraft the rest of the day and loved it. The end!

Esther was cheated on. She was betrayed. She turned to her magic, and eventually her patron goddess, Lilith, who would give her a gift and one day in the future, take it back.

so, in Monty's point of view, Edwin's love for Charles is mutually exclusive with giving any shits about Monty. He hasn't been around very long, he thinks of things in a simplified view because it makes more sense (and what's more human than that?) and Esther's backstory is all he's got for any negative experience with a man. So he turns back to his patron goddess, who would eventually take back the gift she gave him.

Someone anyone pls. My boyfriend has unfortunately had his phone broken so I haven't been talking with him, and I feel so lonely 😞 Also ALL OF MY FRIENDS LIVES ARE CRUMBLING APART?? Welcome Home (Part 6)

ok so this has been going on for much longer than i thought it would (i started making this post in july, its september now, so i might not remember stuff from before bc its been so long)

now that i have some free time, i can finally continue and hopefully finish this

anyways i decided i was gonna organize all the secret stuff ive found so far by making tab groups

which was the BEST decision i made because it made me go back to old links (the askew letter stuff) and i have found NEW stuff !! on the old stuff !!

all of that and more under the cut

so first off

ok so until the end i was so confused what the hell i was looking at, and im pretty sure that its paint

what the painting's supposed to be, ive got no idea but very fascinating

this bug video was Barnaby recounting the day's events to Home, most of those events being other bug videos

also !! i copied the link of this bug video and noticed it ended in '14-14-bh'

i checked the other bug video links and they're all similar !! which means there's 14 of these videos and hopefully ive found them all (i will be re-organizing this so that its in order)

also i think the last two letters are the first letters in the names of whichever neighbors are talking in the videos

ok ive ordered them and i am missing videos 13, 7, and 3! so there's only 3 more bugs for me to find !! hopefully i didnt miss any in past searching (but i will probably double-check if by the end im still missing some videos)

What will life be like this summer?

As u can tell by the pictures, none of us are mentally stable 🥰 so yay hopefully this summer wont suck so if u wanna know choose, I guess?

Pile 1

Ok soooo summer will start off very good with lots of strength and just motivation in general as it progresses it gets even better ( u got the lovers sooo 👀) i see a relationship or situationship blooming it's like going out and meeting new people. It's all fun and games until it's not. U see u probably have commitment issues and this won't just disappear and get resolved over summer so u kinda will fuck up this relationship. It's like u wanting or deciding to leave for some reason but also not even being committed EVEN to that ( like breaking up and making up every other week) not to scare u but i get jules and rue vibes from euphoria from this reading and I actually see u as jules. Another thing i see is not having money like being broke and shit which if u r a teen that make sense so dont worry, that doesnt seem to be the main focus here rather the main focus is partying, lots of laugh, messing around and fucking up.

Lmaooooo okay wait i swear this is not it. So beside financially struggling I actually see u having lots of fun like partying( if ur an introvert maybe just hanging out with with ur close friend(s)) and shit. I don't actually see u having any plans or even if u do have plans u won't actually work on them lmaoo which is totally okay, u know it's summer it's not meant to be strict, ur just meant to do whatever u feel like. Buttt noww this is a big but bc shit kinda gets complicated u see u will be lied to ( this can even be u deceiving urself) almost like there's no clarity like something is holding u back from seeing the truth, now whatever this is ( whether it's someone else or urself that wrongs u ) u wont get justice for it. They'll get away with it. *** i have a reading on "what to do about the situation at hand" or something like that, go through my acc see if u can find it and save it up for future reference when u encounter that said situation i talked about bc that will actually have ur answer***

Not to be pessimistic but this is the most negative pile until now. Soo if u dont wanna read just leave it.

Ok so onto the real shit, u seem to have a choice to make, to be exact it's between two things that u will very much not be able to balance both together, and that's the exact reason why u must choose. But i must warn u, keep ur expectations as low as possible bc i can see u thinking u have the clarity to choose the right option but i dont see a right option here. It's like choosing between two things when u want both of them. There's no winner here. So go with whatever u want to but don't expect much.

Pile 4

This is the messy pile lol. A lot seems to be going on first of two people will offer u something ( i see it as relationships). Guy number 1 is young and boyish, it's like someone not exactly playful but he's very cheesy like he dont seem to be ur type whatsoever and he genuinely seems to have good intentions. Guy number 2 on the other hands i dont really good vibes like he seems sneaky and shit ( i see a toxic cancer now if u know anything about cancer guys u would know what im talking about).

Now how exactly will u respond to each of them? Well for number 1 lmaoo u aint gonna really like him like u seem very closed off toward him so nah this one is a no from u. While for the 2nd guy ya that wont work too, u know why? I see a lot of reasons for one he seems like a cheater and u can tell, he's also manipulative and u see that too, rude af, malicious so let's just say he's not the best person. So u be getting love offers and u will probably refuse them all and honestly good for u bc one is boring as hell the other is just toxic.

Ps. Im referring to the "love interests" as guys bc I literally see them as guys

Friend of a Friend (part 3)

“Yeah, of course I’ll do it! What’s the video?” Y/n’s voice echoed from over the phone.

“It’s a surprise. You’ll find out when you get there.” Mark replied.

The two said their goodbyes and ended the call. Y/n had agreed to do the video, but had no clue that Ethan would be there. Mark decided to let it be a surprise, knowing that she would talk his ear off if he told her.

Mark shut the door as he exited his room and returned to a nervous Ethan who sat completely still, his eyebrows furrowed. 

“She said no. Sorry, man.” Markiplier lied straight to Ethan’s face.

“Oh... it’s all good.” Ethan replied, trying to seem like he was unaffected, but his eyes told a different story. His face dropped at the response.

“So we still need to find someone for the video?” Tyler cleared his thought, trying to move the conversation forward. 

“I actually think I have someone who can do it.” Mark said.

“Who?” Tyler asked.

“I’m gonna leave it as a surprise. I think we’re all good here. Do you guys want to play Phasmagoria?”

The three played Phasmagoria for about an hour, then decided to watch a movie. Though the movie was intriguing at first, Ethan couldn't keep his focus. His heart sunk every time he thought about how he wasn't going to meet Y/n. He had really gotten his hopes up and he really wanted her to be in the video, but he also understood that she lived her own life and probably had to work. Ethan pulled out his phone and scrolled through twitter. He clicked on Mark’s profile, then searched the name Y/n in Mark’s following list. Sure enough, a profile picture with Y/n’s face popped up within seconds. Ethan clicked on her profile and found that she already followed him, so he hit the follow button without thinking. His stomach began to churn and he felt lightheaded as his mind raced. 

His phone buzzed. It was a DM from Y/n, which Ethan opened without hesitation.

one second he’s cuddling w a minecraft puppy and going ‘baby 🥺’ the next moment he is viciously attacking george n attempting to murder him in frustration from how much damage he took because of george’s accidental hits. next moment he is sheepishly apologizing because george made him sit down and won’t let him back up until he behaved. and in the moment after that he tells george if i were ur actual dog i would have bitten you by now :/ (??????????)

i love the game mechanics of george being able to freeze dream so that dream can’t move n the ability to teleport dream to george when he’s too far away. v cute. fun balance of dream needing george to save him but also him being able to help him and also be so silly and goofy.

shoutout to the ‘RIP dog Dream :(‘ subtitle when they failed the challenge. 10/10
