hi, i sent in a comment back when one (not me) anon said they were unfollowing due to constant cisnormativity and gender essentialism in the polls. you didn't answer my ask back then, or maybe the ask disappeared since tumblr does that sometimes, but i would appreciate it if you would answer this, because i think it would be beneficial for everyone to actually talk about this openly.

i'd just like to ask, knowing that you may edit polls submitted to be more inclusive and clearer, why is the recent poll about preferences for a partner's pubic hair specifically for people with penises? and if there is another poll coming that's the same but for people with vaginas, i'm wondering why it would be necessary for a question like it to be separated like that. personally i don't see how that would make a big, or more importantly an interesting difference in the results. to me all it seems like it's doing is excluding intersex people and supporting this idea of "the two sexes" being fundamentally completely different from each other and someone's genitals playing a big part in defining people's preferences.

i'm not intending this as a hate comment, but as a genuine request for conversation around this subject, as you yourself said to the anon that unfollowed, that you'd like to hear about their side. i know i'm not said anon, but i think we're kind of talking about the same subject here, and recently there's been a lot of polls here separating people via genitals, and it's beginning to make me feel a little uncomfortable, in big part due to it implying that a huge portion of people here see gender and/or sex as a binary, and that people on the opposite ends of that binary are fundamentally different from each other due to their sex/gender.

Hi! Thanks for bringing up your concerns. The way I interpreted that question is that anon was curious whether pubic hair affects the sensation on the penetrating partner‘s penis, or whether pubic hair can be a hindrance– for example, acting as a barrier, or adding friction.

The original question was only aimed at people with penises, and I hadn’t planned on posting any variations for different genitals because (from what I’m assuming about anon’s curiosity) the question is so specific in asking about the sensation and/or logistics for a penis navigating around hair. I don’t think it would be helpful or yield any interesting data to post the same poll for people with other genitals. 

In this case, I think my error was in not specifying “does a partner’s pubic hair affect the sensation on your penis during penetration?”. That’s the question I think anon was trying to ask, but unfortunately it was more clear in my and anon’s heads and didn’t come across in writing as clearly as I thought I was saying it. 

Also, in response to the sentiment that there have been a lot of genital-related polls lately, there have been about 3 in the past 2 weeks, or about 3%. (7 polls per day; 49 polls per week; 98 polls every two weeks.) I understand if it seems like a lot, but the actual saturation is fairly low. I'm saying this not to dismiss you, but in the hopes of reassuring you that this blog is not shifting to become more heavily focused on separating people's genitals.

I got a number of helpful messages about the previous conversation on dyadism. I didn't respond to them due to some things in my personal life that limited my time, but I read them and have them saved as a reminder to myself when writing up polls so that I can continue to make these polls more inclusive of intersex people– I promise those messages weren’t ignored.

TLDR: Yeah, it seems she's slipped off the wagon. Addiction is not an easy wagon ride! I'm afraid for some people it's much harder than others. The gang will have relapses and struggles just like anyone else who has addictive tendances. It's not going to stop entirely anytime soon, I'm afraid.

We depict a lot of these types things. Much of mine and @helenofsimblr's writing is taken from real world examples. history, mythology and we do copious amounts of research and add about 300% creativity. Smoking (even the underage smoking) is probably the LEAST worrisome topic in this story and much worse is to come. I hope you're ready nonny... the roller coaster has just started and it's not a smooth ride... It's also completely ok to unfollow for that reason alone if smoking is your line. I promise you that we are definitely going to go beyond that, so stay safe friend! It's quite ok to stop reading. I promise we won't be offended. This story is not everyone's cup of tea and that's ok.

There is a key thing to remember about this story and that is that the universe (lovingly called the KSU) is a kind of alternate universe to our own, some scientific developments happened at very different times to our own and smoking science has not yet caught up to ours. In some ways, it's got sort of a sixties feel and in others, it seems like future-vision. It can be a bit confusing, so I'll provide some examples!

A big example is that the KSU recently just discovered ultrasound tech that can be used to check on fetus health and that smoking is generally bad for one's health, but the KSU has been in space for quite a long time, is well established in space and have computers and cell phones... While the real world (the one you and I live in), ultrasound has been around for a long time and is quite advanced, the anti-smoking campaign has been going on for many years with decent success. However, we in IRL we have not until recently (maybe the last 10-15 years) been able to reliably get into space and back safely in various different countries. Admittingly, I don't track all space travel, just the ones that hit the trending list of my news app.

The rest of this is for people who are struggling to understand addiction and/or are suffering or watching someone suffer with it and are looking for understanding. Please! i was in awana for most of my childhood/teens and when i was in fourth grade (i think) my group got a new leader. her name was miss debbie. miss debbie was no-nonsense. miss debbie had standards. thus, miss debbie was the first leader i respected - other leaders would let you get away with only mostly knowing your Bible verses. not miss debbie. she'd send you back until you really knew it

at our particular group, you earned mall merits for wearing your uniform, bringing your Bible, bringing friends, and for each completed section of your workbook. at the end of the night, you could go to the mall set up at the back of the room. on offer were the usual things: candy, stick-on earrings, pens probably, the kind of little stuff you might think would appeal to 3rd through 6th graders. none of these appealed to me bc yes, i wore my uniform, and yes, i brought my Bible, but i had no friends to bring, and i fought to complete every section of my book. i was not about to waste my mall merits on candy. fortunately, there was also miss shirley. miss shirley brought in beanie babies. beanie babies last

it was forty mall merits for a regular beanie baby and fifty for the bears. as no one was bringing in forty or fifty mall merits in a single night, you could tell miss shirley which one you wanted, she would set it aside, and at the end of the night you'd bring her what mall merits you'd earned and she'd put them down in her spiral notebook. miss shirley scared me to death (she was probably just an older lady with resting bitch face or something. alas, i just remember being scared of her) but she had beanie babies, so at the end of every night i'd screw my courage to the sticking place and give her the mall merits i'd earned that night. in a year (awana ran through the school year) i could earn two beanie babies

what does this have to do with miss debbie? i'm so glad you asked

what must have been halfway through the year, i paid off my first beanie baby and looked over the other ones on offer. none of them immediately grabbed my attention, so i figured i'd just hang onto my mall merits until the next week and see if any new ones came in. while hanging around waiting for my parents to pick me up, i noticed miss debbie over by the beanie babies. she picked up one. perhaps miss shirley said something to her, i don't remember. i remember that miss debbie set the beanie baby back down and said, somewhat defensively, "i like dogs"

once miss debbie stepped away from the table, i re-approached, looked over the beanie babies for the dog she'd picked up, found it, and told miss shirley i wanted that one

as the end of the year came on, i was so concerned that i wouldn't have enough mall merits to buy it. i'm fairly sure i counted the sections left in my book to try to calculate if i had enough. i even considered asking miss linda, the director, for make-up work in case i wasn't going to make it

fortunately, that wasn't the case: the last official day of awana, i had enough. i gave miss shirley the last mall merits and the dog was mine. i promptly went to miss debbie and gave her the dog

she was surprised. maybe stunned is a better word. she said at first that she couldn't take it. i thought at the time she was talking about bribery. i insisted - i had heard her. she liked dogs. i had been intending it for her from the start. she had to take it

finally she did. i think she was a little teary. she said thank you. i was just relieved that i didn't have to argue with her anymore

the next week, at the award ceremony, she gave me a thank you card with a similar-looking dog on the front. i still have it somewhere

i don't think miss debbie came back to awana. at any rate, she wasn't my leader after that. i want to meet her in heaven. i want to ask her what i was like as a fourth grader bc i don't trust my memory. i want to tell her that she was one of my favorite adults ever. i want to tell her that i kept the thank you card

hmm, yes and no? i have lots of emotions about everything but they're very transitory. i get mad at something little and then a few heartbeats later it's gone. i see the cranes in the field and am filled with joy; we pass the field and the joy vanishes. that kind of thing

i have no idea lol i've had exactly one crush for a little less than a week at the height of the lockdowns and the farthest my imagination got was the holding hands stage 😂 i can't think of anything that isn't also like. a sign of a really good friendship (loyalty, unashamed affection, open communication, etc)

if you're tired and have time to take a nap, try not to go longer than 20 minutes

figure out the easiest way for you to drink more water. i got a straw lid for my water bottle and it's made it so much easier, even without attaching the straw part. i've also tried different additives to find ones i really like, bc if you don't like it, you won't drink it

when starting a craft project, you're always going to need a little more than you think you'll need. "more what?" more everything. time. space. yarn. paint. tape. whatever you're buying, borrowing, setting aside, or clearing space for, figure out what you need, and then get a little more

bee is a fully activated tribrid, & has been for centuries. she is very powerful & she knows it, she uses it to her advantage a lot. if your character pisses her off, she will act accordingly. please do not assume that she won't act erratically or angrily if provoked; she is klaus mikaelson's daughter.

ok.. i might be being an idiot so feel free to call me out..

lot of discourse going on rn about a certain author of a very popular jegulus fic and some homophobic comments? now i have never read mentioned jegulus fic, and therefore cannot comment on any misrepresentation or harmful content within it, but i did see the whole queen joke, and after seeing multiple jokes like that all over twitter the past day, i didn’t view it as homophobic? i’m gay but i’m also very aware that i could be giving credit where credit is NOT due, so is that the homophobic comment people are referring to when talking about deleted things? cause if so i’ve seen about 50 people that need to do some deleting.

anyways, i’m really sorry if this comes off in a bad way, i just wanna make sure i’m reading a situation correctly cause i struggle with that, and i don’t rlly have a clue what’s goin on!

(also i completely get that it’s not ur place to have to educate people on this so if u wanna ignore this and never think about it again, please feel free)

It's okay, I understand only getting bits and pieces of the story so I'll do my best to sum it up for you.

There was a comment made by an author, and while it may not have necessarily meant to be homophobic, I know it did rub many people the wrong way. It was a comment that implied the feminization of gay men, something that can be seen as stereotypical and hurtful to the population.

The problem came more when it was brought up to the author. When someone brings up that something you said may be controversial or hurtful, typically you'd try to apologize and assure that this was not your intention, if it was in fact not your intention. Unfortunately, this author chose to quote themselves instead of acknowledging that the comment could indeed be hurtful. There were no apologies for potentially saying something controversial or the choice to potentially educate themselves on why it may be hurtful. The author chose to avoid the subject altogether.

Of course, this is where the whole thing sort of blew up. Now I feel like if the author had potentially handled the ask differently, maybe felt remorseful or apologized, people wouldn't be so peeved with the situation. Unfortunately, this was not the case. After this, the author decided to delete the comment and post something that wasn't quite an apology, but something saying they got the asks and they weren't impressed for being called out about it.

Now about other people deleting things. I don't follow many blogs, I typically try to keep to my corner of Tumblr and interact with my friends, so I definitely haven't seen everything every single author is saying. This being said, I invite you to, politely, maybe bring it up to an author or blogger who says something that could potentially be harmful. What the person decides to do then is up to them. If they apologize, show remorse, and correct themselves, I feel like that is okay, as long as they make an effort to correct their mistake and not do it again. Now, if they ignore it, get defensive, and try to tell you that it can't be hurtful because they didn't think it was hurtful, then that's different, and then a lot more people typically get involved because there is strength in numbers, and sometimes people need to hear it multiple times before it sticks in their brain. Now if they don't change, unfollow or block them, and tell some people in the same boat to avoid that person if they could be potentially harmful to your friends.

I didn't take your message as rude in any way, don't worry. And I not only responded to this to help you understand, but so that maybe it will come across another person's blog who needs to read this, or needs help understanding.

Just going to post a small rant about the discourse going on with Jack Manifold. I don't think Jack had any ill intent and in my opinion, he is not misogynistic. I also feel he was in the right to be disappointed with Dream. Hell... I'm still a bit disappointed about the edit, even though, I still support him. Just want yall to know, I'll still be supporting Jack as well as Dream. If you'd like to unfollow or block me over this, go for it. There's no hard feelings and I completely understand if you don't want to support either cc. Please do what's best for you and stay safe!

i hope this doesn't sound mean, but is there a way you guys can create a sideblog or something and have only the comics be posted there? i really love reading the comic, and i like the lore and behind the scenes with the asks, but it's been clogging my dash up really bad and i want to be able to see the comic pages when they release without worrying about missing them with all the asks ;o;
