Elizabeth Hoyt has these vibes often due to the nature of her books lol:

Thief of Shadows--I mean, Winter is a masked vigilante and Isabel is basically trying to figure out it's him for much of the book. NOW. Her method for figuring it out IS sucking his dick behind a curtain, but still.

Duke of Midnight--Maximus is ALSO a masked vigilante (it's a thing, there's a shared identity) and Artemis catches him doing all that and blackmails him

Duke of Sin--I mean Valentine technically spies on Bridget for like 3-4 months while he lives in his own walls, but I also think there are times when they catch each other doing various nefarious things

A Secret Love by Stephanie Laurens has a heroine masquerading as a widow in order to extract a favor from her childhood friend-turned nemesis. There's a big moment when he catches her slipping up... which is after he has Done Shit with that masked lady, mind you lol.

The Many Sins of Lord Cameron by Jennifer Ashley has the heroine spying on the hero with another woman (at the very beginning of the book--he and the heroine are not by any means together and this woman is just like some random he's trying to fuck lol) and he's very aware that she's spying and chases the other woman way before being like "and you are here why?" The heroine is really good at picking locks and creeping, and he's super turned on by the thought of her being a voyeur lol.

If you wanna go more hardcore on this, The Recruit by Monica McCarty has the heroine make first contact with the hero when she spies on him fucking another lady. They've never met and it's a doggy style deal so he makes eye contact with the heroine and gets off on her watching. He confronts her AFTER lol.

Olivia and The Masked Duke by Grace Callaway is another "post-viewing" confrontation, but the heroine spies on the hero spanking another woman before they're together. It Awakens Her.

The Duke Who Knew Too Much by Grace Callaway. lmao THIS ONE is HILARIOUS because this very innocent but nosy heroine spies on the hero when he and his mistress are doing a light CNC (by way of bondage) and busts in like "UNHAND HER!!" and the mistress goes with it because she doesn't wanna be seen as freak. Then the mistress dies... and the hero has to explain to our heroine that he's not a murderer he's just like... into kinky sex.

Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks may be juuust what you need lol. The hero is trying to resist consummating his marriage with the heroine (she's deaf, he doesn't think she can consent though she totally can) and then walks in on her bathing in a lake. He's not God's strongest soldier.

The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen by K.J. Charles I think, has the one hero desperately trying to catch the other hero, a smuggler, in the act, as revenge for blackmail. It's great lol. The Nobleman's Guide to Seducing a Scoundrel also has one hero discover the other, his secretary, snooping around the house late at night. And then he's like "I wasn't snooping, I was just trying to fuck???"

Shadowheart by Laura Kinsale has Allegreto walk in on Elena sneaking around his weird little collection room, and he's all "I CAN DO YOUR BIRTH CHART" and she's like "what" because he's crazy.

Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas has Harry and Poppy officially meet when she's creeping around HIS collection (we love a hero or heroine with a weird collection tbh).

The Lady Hellion by Joanna Shupe has the hero catch the heroine when she's masquerading a man to try to help sex workers by night. Like he's all "I GOTTA FIND OUT WHAT THE FUCK SHE'S UP TO" and then he's like "hmm that was hotter than I expected".

Maya also never said Robin shouldn't date someone, she just said that her friendships shouldn't suffer because of it, especially the one she has with Steve. It's weird how people say it's bad rep, like I'm queer, I never got into a relationship am I now less queer? Also Robin is a teenager and is living in the apocalypse there is no time for dates. I still hope for Rovickie because I think they could be cute and Robin deserves to be kissed, but idk if she will be heavily involved in the UD so yeah. It's also bothering me that people now use this as an argument against Vickie saying well she's not developed enough so again bad rep. As if the main characters are only allowed to date within the group, pick a struggle either you want new characters to join or the cast should stay tight. Like people wouldn't minf Steve suddenly dating a girl who is only there for 1 episode at the end. Why not have Robin find someone outside the group as well?

YES EXACTLY THIS!!! like she said she has mixed feelings about it which also makes sense because in a show like stranger things that only has 8-9 eps per season and everyone has split time like it’s a valid fear of hers to also feel conflicted that the writers may focus on the romance too much when she wants to be involved more with friendships. it’s also like i genuinely think she has the most fun on set with joe too which can add to it but genuinely think maya just likes the friendships which is valid. exactly what you said about that!! yeah like robin is legit living in apocalypse times now like i remember how everyone in fandom was like ‘damn steve we about to die stop thinking about romance’ meanwhile they’re also concerned with the same thing while our mains have to figure out how to live in apocalyptic times now and defeat the UD once and for all. anyway sorry for bring that in back to the main focus yeah i honestly hate how people treat how mains have romances with side characters. like everyone was convinced that suzy was a spy and claimed that she killed hopper just because of her being a minor character and now vickie is getting wrongfully treated too. ngl i just think it’s this fandom picking which minor characters they like and which ones they can hate to an unhealthy degree. it’s wild!! but yeah like maya never said that she didn’t want romance for robin or whatever she wants to make sure that friendship is prioritized which again in a show like st is completely valid to have this concern

I watched stranger universe new video and she said that there was a behind the scenes picture of a birthday party and a boy with a clowns costume was there . She also said the surfer boy pizza van and maya hawke were spotted there . So maybe the secret message isn’t connected to Wills birthday ? I would love to see Wills birthday on screen but maybe it was this other boys birthday . But I think it would fit with the time that Wills birthday is on screen if march 22 is on Saturday . Idk haha so what do you think about that ?

I just watched it too aha. It could be Will's birthday, but I think it might be someone else's... The pictures make me think it's not Will's birthday, and that it's maybe a character we haven't seen before 👀 My guess is that that this may be a vision/hallucination or someone's memory that they are watching through some upside down/Vecna's powers, because this event has some clue or some significance to the plot, or the person who's birthday it is an important part of the plot, and this event was important to their development, and explains something about what that person is doing now...

Ok so now there's two numbers going activated in reference to the Pizza Van, this one that plays the happy birthday piano tune is 805-457-4992 (805-45-PIZZA) and the other is a Reno, Nevada area code number: 775-387-4992 (775-38-PIZZA) that also has a piano tune, but it's much shorter and I can't figure out what it is LOL. In the video Stranger Universe suggest it may the birthday song backwards, which might be evidence for the idea that this birthday part is not real-time, and that it in fact is a hallucination/vision or someone's memory they are watching through Vecna's powers or some upside down related thing.

i love hearing what you have to say about season 4!! i promise it’s not too long lol, anyway i have a question for you: what do you think the next season holds for mike & el? i’m a little worried tbh

ahhh thank you !! same rules apply: spoilers ahead, so please read no further and blacklist/filter out the ‘s4′, ‘st4′, ‘spoilers’ tags if you don’t want to see anything !!

i’m going to talk about them both as individuals and as a pair but first, i have to say that i don’t personally feel like you have to worry about them breaking up or anything again this season. i think s4 is really going to establish romantic jopper and once that happens, i don’t see them, mileven, or jancy not being endgame unless someone actually dies. which -- i’m not going to think about the possibility of anyone dying until i’m forced to confront it, so. this is fiction and it’s already unrealistic and i’m gonna take my ‘everyone survives, happiness all around, time to relax’ endings and go. anyway, i would love to add lumax to this list but i honestly think it could go either way depending on what happens in s4. that’s a different essay, though.

i tend to think that the most important dynamic on the show is the one between the whole group and i just don’t really see them spending much more time trying to develop romantic relationships outside of the ones set up since s1/2. maybe steve, robin, and will get love interests, maybe they decide to develop dustin and suzie more, maybe suzie is never even mentioned again, idk. but these will probably all be secondary -- as in less screen time, not less important than the main romances, but probably still less developed. unless it happens to be a new person added to the main cast. which, as of now, the only new mains are brett and priah who has gone from recurring to regular. so.

i think s3 showed how messy and complicated romantic relationships (or, really just relationships in general) can be. everyone was arguing, there was miscommunication all around, everyone thought they knew what was best, no one was seeing eye to eye. but when it comes down to it, they would do anything for each other. they understand each other better than anyone else ever could. i can’t see them spending another season on breakups and romance drama after the ending of s3.

mike and el have already been separated once before. this time, mike knows for sure that she’s alive and that’s she’s with the byers. this time, el won’t be kept completely isolated away from everyone else. they’ve made plans to meet for the holidays. they can still call and talk to each other as much as they want. i’m hoping they handle being separated this time better than they did in s2. i don’t want mike to be moping and i don’t want el to spend a lot of the season thinking about how much she misses him. in fact, i think in their case that some distance could be good for them. the same for jancy and jopper, too, honestly. it’ll be nice to see them existing outside of these relationships while still acknowledging how important they are.

as far as i know, the byers and el stuff has not started filming yet so all there is to speculate on are rumors, the audition tapes, and logical guesses about where the story goes after s3. el obviously moves away with the byers. we still don’t know where. she’ll still be mourning hopper and trying to figure out life without her powers. and, of course, she’ll be in a long distance relationship with mike. i think she’ll be having a hard time and she’ll wish that mike was around, but she’ll realize she’s got a pretty good support system around her now with the byers, too. i’m very, very excited for more joyce and el content particularly, but there’s gotta be some great scenes with her and will and jonathan as well.

there’s only one audition tape that i can confidently tie into the byers + el plot(s?) and it’s the queen bee/mean girl character ‘angela’. if we’re running with the whole ‘there may be some truth to the audition vids’ thing, then this one teases that el will be going to school and that angela will be bullying her. this is something she would probably want to talk about with mike (b i g troy s1 vibes) but i don’t know if she actually would ? so this is probably more a thing that el and will could bond over or that she could talk about with joyce or maybe jonathan. i do think there will be at least a few calls between the two of them before the action really hits and the whole group is (hopefully...) reunited.

so, el -- at least in the beginning of s4 -- will be going to school where ‘angela’ bullies her, forming a bond with joyce + will + jonathan and becoming part of the family, mourning hopper (+ hopefully having conversations about him + his past with joyce), missing her friends back in hawkins, continuing to learn how to navigate life without her powers, and trying to maintain a long distance relationship with mike.

mike... i’ve been seeing some wild theories about him today but they aren’t really that far-fetched i think. first, going back to the audition tapes, the ‘eddie’ audition i saw makes it seem like mike is going to be part of the hellfire club with dustin. i’ve recently learned that there’s another version of the scene where ‘eddie’ is only talking to dustin and mike might not be a part of the club after all. if he isn’t part of the club, then the basketball v. hellfire, jocks v. nerds thing turns into lucas v. dustin and mike’s probably there just caught in the middle while max is off distancing herself from everyone.

at this point, i really want mike and max to become good friends. i think the end of s3 gave them the perfect opportunity. s4 max has s2 mike vibes. it’s not the same situation at all, but he knows kinda what she’s feeling and they could connect through that + the fact that they’ll both be missing el. i also just really want... some wheeler siblings content. i’m hopeful that s4 gives us good nancy and mike scenes bc there’s no reason not to give us good nancy and mike scenes (+holly!). however...

while there’s proof that gaten and sadie and natalia and priah have all been filming since production restarted, and while i have reason to believe that caleb has been filming a lot inside/at the studio recently... there’s no evidence that finn has been on set. there’s none for maya and joe, either, but people have said that finn isn’t even in atlanta right now. maybe he is and maybe he just hasn’t been seen and maybe he’ll pop back up tomorrow. or, maybe he already filmed whatever he needed to film for hawkins before production stopped.

the wild theory that’s popped up today is that everything gets to be too much for him in hawkins and he just... hops on a train to go visit el + the byers. i don’t know if i buy it, but it is interesting to note that he was sitting with them at the table read. and since we can guess that steve and robin will still be working at the video store, robin and nancy will be investigating pennhurst together, lucas and max may have some angst, joyce and murray are probably teaming up for the finding/saving hopper plot, and el is going to bond with will and jonathan, it seems like the order might mean a little something. i’d even bet that dustin and erica have scenes with them bonding over d&d.

now this theory pretty much only exists because no one’s seen finn on set and one of the paps posted some pics of some trains. there’s also always theories about how there will be issues at home with the wheeler fam and if that’s going to happen, what better time than in s4 when all of his friends are pulling away and el’s gone again. so if he is missing el (and will) that much, and if he has any reason to worry about her and how she’s doing, or if the party becoming distant and issues at home are weighing on him and he feels like he needs to get away, he’s absolutely the type to venture off on a train by himself. i don’t know how it would work since he’s definitely supposed to still be in school and his friends/nancy at least would notice he’s gone, but.. it’s fun to think about and we’ve got zero actual content to go off of right now.

another way i could see mike’s plot going is that he’s the one trying to keep the party together this season. playing mediator with lucas and dustin, becoming better friends with max, being the connection between the hawkins plot and the byers plot (along with nancy).

there was also talk of him joining the track team bc the track has been set up with hawkins high colors for filming. but mike ‘this isn’t a stupid sports game’ wheeler? i don’t think so... basically, no one knows at the moment what’s happening with mike wheeler in s4 lol.

s4 mike is just like s4 byers fam -- a complete mystery to me currently. i don’t personally think that he’ll be leaving school and hopping on a train to visit el. i think he’ll be a part of the hellfire club with dustin, or that he won’t and instead will be attempting to keep the party from completely disbanding. i hope that we get wheeler siblings scenes and that max and mike have a breakthrough and become better friends. i also feel like he’ll be having some complicated feelings about hopper, the last interaction they had, etc. and, again, the whole long distance thing with el.

so... mike and el broke up in s3. it was messy. but then they reconciled. and then hopper “died”. s3 ended with them at this weird place where she’s heard him say that he loves her and she’s told him that she loves him back. things are a little awkward in the scene bc everything has changed at this point, but a kiss, an ‘i love you’, planning to meet up on the holidays, and promising to call frequently all sounds like they’re back together and going to try making the long distance thing work to me.

i think they’ll be together when s4 starts. i think that we’ll probably only see them talking on the phone or their radios for the first few eps. maybe we’ll see flashbacks or something to them being together on the holidays. the distance might be hard and they’re definitely going to be missing each other. like... el doesn’t have mike or hopper with her now and i’m thinking the party is going to be drifting apart, plus they’re both probably going to have other personal issues that have nothing to do with each other or the party. maybe they’ll be experiencing some emotional distancing of their own while dealing with the aftermath of hopper’s “death”, the move, and whatever’s going on with them at home and at school. i think that once they reunite (probably not until the last half of the season), they’re likely to be stronger than ever.

now, onto personal theories that have zero basis. for some reason, i can’t get it out of my head that this season might dive into psychological horror a little bit ? like a greatest fears type of thing ?? and i keep thinking about brenner popping back up and using the people el loves to get to her or something and 👀👀

We're on Trial Day 2 of Rise from the Ashes! I haven't been making notes for the past two/three hours of playtime because I didn't want to be constantly grabbing at my phone.

Okay, so fun facts! She despises Ema more than Maya, and my voice for Ema is basically Peridot :'). The voice for Meekins is also really annoying, woo. This is also the first case where we've both looked at characters(Angel Starr, Officer Marshall, & Chief Gant) and went "ew, I don't like them." I also have Detective Goodman’s ID number memorized? 5842189

So I think we just figured out what happens? Idk, could be wrong, but we just made a whole solid scenario for what could've actually happened. I mean, Goodman's body was discovered(said to have died, more like) just after Edgeworth left his car; who's to say he wasn't already there?

your iris defense au is so interesting!! and i was wondering if u have any thoughts on how fey family related cases would play out if they happened at all (like turnabout sisters, reunion and turnabout, bridge, etc), and how iris's relationship with maya and pearl would be?

Ah thank you!! I have. vague ideas? but nothing super concrete. Mostly this is just how I would write them if I were to write a fic, because then I’d want them to be at least a little different than usual so that it wouldn’t be boring.

For Turnabout Sisters, I’d think Mia would have re-introduced Iris to the family before this all happened, so she already knows Maya. And also I think Iris would learn how to drive if she lived in the city, so she picks up Maya at the train station, meaning they both arrive to discover Mia’s body together - which definitely throws a wrench in White’s plans, since he was planning to frame Maya, but now Maya has an airtight alibi. So he pins the blame on April May instead, and she kind of... goes with it, because going to prison is safer than crossing White.

Iris thinks something’s fishy and ends up defending her, and it could lead to some interesting contrast between April May’s relationship with Redd White and her own relationship with Dahlia -- maybe April owed White something, idk, she’s really not given any depth in canon so I can play around with it a bit, and she feels indebted to him and so willing to take the blame. Edgeworth of course would handle the prosecution differently so that her ice-coffee alibi is discredited. At the end of the second investigation day (I don’t know if she’d go confront White directly or not, honestly, but still) White decides to shift the blame onto both Maya and Iris, to invalidate both their alibis, and say that they teamed up to kill Mia together. And the court system goes with this despite the shaky evidence because White has so much control. Mia still gets channeled to resolve this, and/or April threatens to release dirt on White as her own little character arc thing. We’re just going to give minor characters development I guess! Anyways White still goes to prison. April goes to prison too for the wiretapping and stuff, but for a shorter time.

Uhh Reunion and Turnabout. I think that Morgan and Iris’s relationship would still be a little... strained. We do know Morgan planned on killing Dahlia when she went to prison so it’s not looking great for Iris here, though I don’t think Morgan would focus on her when her priority is getting rid of Maya. I feel like the case would go similarly to canon, but with more of a focus on Morgan and Iris’s relationship - maybe Iris would be more reluctant to accept Morgan’s role in the murder, she is her mother after all, but if Dahlia could do it so could Morgan, kind of.

And Iris’s relationship with Pearl... I think Iris would have a lot of doubts re: being a good sister, considering her only sisterly relationship didn’t turn out well. And Pearl would still be influenced by Morgan, who would probably encourage her to stay away from Iris. But as the case progresses, Pearl would start to trust Iris, even if maybe not as fast as in canon. (There’s no “Mystic Maya’s special someone” thing here, obviously!) Yeah so basically similar to canon but with more focus on familial Fey relationships.

Bridge to the Turnabout... definitely needs an Iris vs Dahlia confrontation at some point, to showcase Iris’s character growth throughout the hypothetical series, so she can properly stand up to her sister. There’s also the problem of the murder itself - without Iris, Godot may not have an accomplice. I don’t think Bikini would participate in this or be good at hiding it... So when the bridge burns down, Misty’s body is stuck on the Inner Temple side. This delays the murder investigation quite a bit and would probably have a whole new host of problems - maybe Maya gets accused right from the outset? Godot’s whole Thing in canon re: not confessing right away is partially to test Phoenix, and I’m not sure if he would have the same complex regarding Iris. But I guess Iris being Dahlia’s double makes up for it, at least in part.

I’ve entertained the thought of channeled!Dahlia pushing Iris into the river. Maybe Iris hears from Bikini that she was just seen heading to the Inner Temple, puts the pieces together, and chases after Dahlia. This would probably be before the bridge burns out, so Dahlia-Misty can make it across. There’s no Larry there at the time Iris falls, so Iris does a last-minute call to whoever she last called, who for some reason is Edgeworth, which concerns him and gets him over to Japanifornia for the trial. (He sends Gumshoe to investigate the situation - maybe Iris gave him a location in her call - and he’s the one who finds her and saves her life, though she’s in direr condition than Phoenix because medical services weren’t utilized as early. She survives, though.) Then there can be some fun stuff about Dahlia-Maya “participating” in the investigation as “Iris” and using the opportunity to hunt down Maya, again not knowing she’s being channeled by Maya. There are a few problems with that though, mostly how long this could go without being caught, how to keep Pearl away (because if Dahlia saw Pearl she might figure it out), how anyone wouldn’t notice that Iris here is healthily investigating and not in the hospital like she should be... and the problem with essentially officially trying Maya in absentia. I mean it’s fic we could probably get away with an Investigations-style thing where it doesn’t go to court, but.

And of course Iris recovers in time for the last day so she can actually confront Dahlia, wrapping things up nicely. ... That’s all I really have haha.

I 100% blame you for getting me into the Kizzie ship and lowkey thought I was the only one thinking Lizdon (is that the ship name? idk) could be cute so can I ask for both for the ship game?

I tried to answer this yesterday, but something went wrong, so I'm so sorry it's taken me this long! I take full responsibility for getting you into Kizzie as a ship, and I'm so glad that you like Lizdon as well! No clue if that's their ship name! But it's the one everyone seems to use fot them so I'm going with it. Thank you so much for asking for them for Ship Ask Game Thingamabob! I've done Kizzie in this post and Lizdon in a separate one just because it'll make it easier!

Who hogs the duvet: Both of them. It's like a game of tug of war in the middle of the night, because they both want the duvet, and they're both cold. Eventually, when an elbow accidentally goes flying, Kaleb pulls Lizzie close to him, and oh, why the hell did neither of them think to just...cuddle? The duvet stays over both of them from then on.

Who texts/rings to check how their day is going: They both call every now and then, just seeing how they're doing, especially when one of them is that the school while the other isn't. Kaleb's gotten inti the habit of sending Lizzie a string of emojis for her to figure out what he's trying to say, both infuriating and amusing her.

Who's the most creative when it comes to gifts: To start out with, it's Lizzie. Eventually, it turns into a competition to see if they can outdo the other on creativity. They both just secretly enjoy seeing the other's face when they see the end result and how much love and thought went into it. They like to pretend it's a competition, but they both end up winning.

Who gets up first: Kaleb likes to sleep, alright? It's relaxing and peaceful and all-around good for the soul. Lizzie would like sleep if she was actually good at it. But her brain just switched back on in the middle of the night and then she's been awake since 4 am because she can't get back to sleep. So, technically, Lizzie.

Who suggests new things in bed: Lizzie, for sure, but it's rare and never anything all that out there. Kaleb has a vast knowledge of things, but he just never really pays them much mind because it's not important to him, you know? He mainly just likes the glint that Lizzie gets in her eyes.

Who cries at movies: Both of them and neither of them are afraid to admit it. Movies were made to make you feel things, and they are all in fot the experience, alright? So, if it's an emotional movie, they're gonna cry. Although, Lizzie will never Kaleb forget that he cried during the Wizards of Waverley Place movie, just as he won't let her forget that she cried at the new Batman when Bruce's parents died despite knowing it was coming.

Who gives unprompted massages: Both of them, but Kaleb a little more often. He doesn't say anything, just reaches out and rubs her shoulder or her leg depending on what she seems to be moving with a slight wince every now and then. She happily returns the favour, especially after a game.

Who fusses over the other when they're sick: Lizzie would fuss if Kaleb ever actually got sick. On rare occasions when he accidentally comes into contact with vervain and is healing slowly, she'll take care of him until it's all out of his system. When she gets sick, she can be a bit dramatic, and Kaleb rolls his eyes and smiles and stays with her all day and night.

Who gets jealous easiest: Neither of them, really. Lizzie expected to get at least a little jealous every now and then considering Kaleb's growing popularity at the school, but she just doesn't. They trust each other and nothing else matters.

Who has the most embarrassing taste in music: Lizzie, probably. I can imagine Kaleb having really good taste in music, while Lizzie's probably into some weird genre that might actually be super popular in the 2030s.

Who collects something unusual: The thing that they collect aren't really unusual, per se. Lizzie has little souvenirs and trinkets she's picked up while with her mom scattered throughout her side of the room, from strange, bewitched snow globes to music boxes that are supposed to bring comfort.

Who takes the longest to get ready: Both of them, although Lizzie says it's cheating when Kaleb uses his super speed to rush through everything, even though it still takes him the same amount of time as it it takes for her to finish examining different outfit options with magic.

Who is the most tidy and organised: They're both fairly organized, but Kaleb a little more than Lizzie. He's used to things being tidy, and it just doesn't bother her to have a few items of clothing here and there like it bothers Kaleb.

Who gets most excited about the holidays: Just like pretty much every other answer I've given, both of them. They both love the snow, and walking into town wrapped in scarfs just to annoy Landon at the Grill, and just the general festive feeling.

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Kaleb is the big spoon, Lizzie is the little spoon. For reasons. It's comfortable and secure and they both like it.

Who gets most competitive when playing games or sports: They're both fairly competitive people, but Lizzie can go a little overboard when it comes to certain things.

Who starts the most arguments: Lizzie, without a doubt. It's her personality and attitude combined with people generally being wrong, in her opinion. Kaleb usually manages to pull her away from it and calm her down enough for the whole thing not to explode.

Who suggests that they buy a pet: Neither of them. They both like animals, but they just don't want one.

What couple traditions do they have: They don't really do traditions, but they always watch a bunch of old movies the day before Kaleb has to go home for the break and Lizzie goes with her mom.

What tv shows do they watch together: They've gotten into watching weird shows so that they can laugh at them, like Supernatural and Stranger Things, only to get obsessed with them. They also love a good true crime show, the one's where they look into the mind of a famous killer. They may have a soft spot for Friends despite how old and weird it is, and for Dolly Parton's show on Netflix.

What other couples do they hang out with: Josie and Hope, Landon and MG, Kym and Maya (because why the hell not?)

How they spend their time together as a couple: Just hanging out around the school and town. Study dates, sometimes at the Old Mill, without the Chill. Going for walks, a lot of the time out of town. Teaming up when they're hunting Malivore monsters, because damn it, if they're going to save the world, it's going to be romantic.

Who made the first move: I can genuinely see both of them making the first move. Kaleb would be all calm and cool about it, unless Lizzie said something that threw him off and made him flustered, and then technically it would be Lizzie making the first move because she's caught on, and she likes him, and she is sticking with her philosophy of positivity and going after what she wants, and she wants Kaleb.

Who brings flowers home: They both like to make fun of romance movies and all the cliches, so when Kaleb appears in her room with flowers, it's an inside joke that makes Lizzie's heart skip and her face heat up and makes him a little proud that he got her to smile like that. And when she uses magic to fill his entire room with his favourite flowers, her happiness at him being genuinely speechless and looking at her with wide eyes full of adoration, it's just because it's a fun joke between them.

Who is the best cook: Kaleb. Hands down. And he will insist on it no matter how much Lizzie tries to argue.

Museum of Mayhem Art Analysis

ahhh it’s finally here and it’s AWESOME. Lots of credit to @ifalnasminiatures for bringing this to my attention! Also credit to Hayder Hype for providing (nat zero six on gearbox forums) sources (Ashley Landry on twitter) in the description of his video because oh man it’s a lot

lots to talk about especially regarding the calypso twins so let us dive right in

tl;dr: tyreen has a weird red marking on her face in some old designs. i think troy used to be blind and missing his metal plates. more proof for my elpis/chemical sludge/lost legion theory that the twins are using said chemical sludge to give their followers psuedo-siren powers bc a dahl pumping station (hyperion pumping stations on pandora) but dahl had a presence on the moon

one of my favorites, it reminds me a lot of the Mask of Mayhem, but for villains.

Punk Girl is shown again twice, probably further proving she’s tied in with the CoV somehow

we also got some crazy looking villains such as

baby face. which is all kinds of extremely fucked up

this dude who looks like he could be a miniboss with the glasgow smile and the cool goggles

this guy who i legitimately thought was dr zed for a hot second there

could it be

the evilest brother?? pfft nahhh

this girl who seems like she could be a unique character with a baseball cap. wondering if maybe she’s related to Punk Girl in any way. What’s the verdict on the other band members? 🤔

this piece! very interesting to me

so, the very first thing i noticed is zane’s eye patch being on the other eye lol

amara’s tattoos are also gone, however that might’ve been for reasons similar to the japanese cover art of the game.

most interestingly is a point @ifalnasminiatures made and it’s that the calypso twins are actually palette swapped! you can see Troy is the one with the white hair and Ty is the one with the darker hair. which I think mayyy play into a few things we see later about the twins

we also see a tiny ship in the background. i can’t tell if that’s sanctuary-iii or the blue/yellow ship, it all blends together a lot due to the quality of the pic. but it is next to the calypso twins, which makes me want to believe it’s the blue/yellow ship we see with red markings all over it. you know this one from the mural of mayhem wallpapers

interestingly, i feel like the roses might have been a thing they just put in for the new cover art. haven’t seen hide nor hair of them across any of the pictures i’ve seen.

we got a lot of figures. out of them i most definitely recognized amara, salvador, maya, another salvador?, zer0, moze (maybe?), and axton. i thiiink one of them is maya as well, but im not 100% on that.

i can guess why they didn’t pick this one: it’s hard to tell who’s who. a lot of these poses make the silhouettes kinda hard to see and the merging together at the bottom makes things even worse. i do think it’s interesting there are some bl2 characters on here as well, but hayder hype mentioned they very well could be placeholders, and given that i can’t make out fl4k or zane, im inclined to believe him.

there’s a new red planet which hasn’t been shown off before, looks like a gassy planet kinda like jupiter, but interestingly it has this green crack in the side?

very reminiscent of pandora’s eridium scar. i am wondering if this is because this planet had a vault opened, or if it is tied to the Eridians at all. be interesting if it was their homeworld.

also i have no idea what the symbolism is in the homeworld destroying another planet but maybe we shouldn’t think about it too hard e_e

tbh, i thought this was elpis the first time i saw it due to the cracks, but i figured elpis doesn’t have like continents across its surface, just craters. and wayyy more cracks.

so it’s probably not pandora and it’s probably not elpis.

i do think the actual shot is suspended above promethea, you can see the familiar asteroid belt surrounding it

there’s also this redder planet here which i actually DO think is Pandora. if you squint real hard u can see the purple from the eridian scar. plus the color matches up pretty well with the pictures provided above.

there’s also these two bodies over in the corner where the light is coming from. i can’t tell what they’re supposed to be

there are also these little dudes in the top right

i assume they’re maliwan? they remind me a lot of the maliwan drop ship things that fly overhead when you enter promethea

YESSS okay this is the start of some PRETTY WILD twin stuff

troy: missing his tattoos, blind in one eye, has a weird mark above his eyebrow. also, no metal bits!

Tyreen!!! with a red stripe across her left cheek going up to her eye??? no tattoos on her left arm as far as we can see, but that might be for marketing reasons (she’s also covering up part of her bicep). she’s also missing her coat and chains and wearing a different glove.

we also have a bunch of bl2 VHs taking up space. again i think hayder hype is right in that they’re simply placeholders. not much else to say, but

this trend of Tyreen having red markings on her face and Troy being blind in an eye (or both) actually continues through a fair amount of these posters!!!

more cover art. one of my least favorites again... i just think it looks like the psycho is puking out the VHs. also, seems to be an older version of the psycho mask.

fl4k seems to be less rendered than the rest of the cast? like they have less detail, especially on their coat

also you can see an older looking space shuttle up at the top, which reminds me a lot of the one we use in TFTBL to get to helios. except less caravanny and more rockety

the splatter also reminds me of siren powers, with the purple and the glitter. it’s cool that it’s showing a different shot than what’s behind it. maybe a hint to siren powers because it’s sort of like a portal.

this time troy is blind in both eyes it seems,

tyreen seems to still have a mark on the left side of her face, im wondering if this ties into her scars at all? it doesn’t seem as prominent as the previous red mark.

Zane seems to have an actual eye patch instead of his more high-tech eye patch, which reminds me a lot of the leaked character concepts from like january i wanna say

amara seems to be dual wielding lol i wonder if originally that was going to be one of her 3 skills but then they were like “wait salvador. wait. nisha. FUC-”

also fl4k is being obscured by this weird saturn-like planet. let them be free!

moze is missing, the saturn like planet shows up 2 times total, and that blue/yellow ship is seen again behind troy

as for the purple stuff? you already know my theory that the twins are going to be using the chemical sludge on elpis to empower their followers. it could also just be straight eridium/slag. you know, like the testing from the WEP with bloodwing and even krieg. we’ll have to see. it would be interesting if they tied krieg into the story through there.

i do lowkey think it’s chemical sludge though, because some of it is actually glowing blue in places, you can see it clearly below amara’s feet. maybe some tie in to siren powers cuz they glow the same blueish color. who knoooows not i

big shot of this psycho here, looks like he’s crumbling.

i really like the 4 VHs standing at the base with the elongated shadows. very dark vibes from this tho, probably not suitable for the series as a whole. i can see why maybe they decided not to do it.

i wonder if we’ll see this giant psycho statue somewhere on pandora. it would certainly be a sight to behold.

also i kinda wish we had cloaks like the concept art shows. cloaks are cool

more sketchy art. this one is also kinda strange, i definitely get why they decided not to go thru with it.

possibly tie-in with the ‘mother’ imagery we get on the propaganda signs across pandora.

very bl2 like, im glad they didn’t stick with this. i like that they decided to change things up

troy seems to be blind and also missing his metal implants on his face. his jacket also looks a lot different, it looks more like tyreen’s with the spikes and stuff across it. we also can’t see his metal arm at all, tho we do see his sword! which looks a lot different, im glad they decided to revamp it to be more visually interesting lol

tyreen is more interesting to me. it looks like her right arm has like a silver coating over it? unless that is a metal arm as well. she also is wearing a different kind of glove. her tattoos are missing as well, but again, it’s probably because of the cover art. her scars also definitely seem to have reached her left cheek at some point.

zane also looks a lot different, tho amara, moze, and fl4k look about the same.

another shot of the ship, this one is definitely the blue/yellow one. there’s gotta be some significance with that, right? either we’re getting skins for sanc-iii, we’re going to be painting it a new color, or it’s a different ship.

not a lot to say here. i actually like this one lol it’s very mellow and straight to the point. it’s nice that the logo is right in the middle, not at the top like most of them.

one of my favorite ones out of all of them. it’s beautiful, i really wish they had kept it. Fl4k is missing but i assume they were meant to go next to Amara? i also think it’s interesting Moze is in the front, as I took Amara to be the leader this time around. Zane is also an older design, with the eyepatch back on his left eye again (starting to think this is an aesthetic thing lol) and a black jacket instead of blue.

We see the twins on the top. Tyreen has that mark on her face again, and Troy is the same as the last few covers.

We also see Maya, Zer0, and for some reason Brick? Which is weird to me considering we have a few other characters who initially feel much for important to the story (cough Lilith cough), but I’m not complaining.

the purple splatters again make me think this is a tie in to eridium/slag/elpis’s chemical sludge. i also like the logo being worked into the design instead of just thrown on top, i think that’s a nice detail

i couldn’t find a great shot of this poster which is a shame because it’s one of my favorites

a lot of baddies to go around on here. i love the dude up top, he reminds me of the Anchormen from the captain scarlett dlc in bl2!

i’ve been thinking and tbh i think the multiple planets thing was just an excuse for gearbox to go absolutely ham on the character designs/settings.

i mean why should they have to hold back all their medieval armor designs for another dlc like tiny tina’s? all their pirate/sea-fairing designs for a pirate dlc? fuck it! go WILD. i think they did, anywho

there’s also this post which... tbh i can’t make out much at all. again, seems like an older psycho mask design. it looks like there are characters in the splatter on the bottom left, but it’s very hard to tell who’s who, especially at this angle and image quality lol

if we get a better shot later on i may return to this piece and try to figure things out!

we also have this piece which is giving me huge ‘Happy Together’ vibes. very trippy

moze looks like she’s using an untextured atlas gun? dunno what’s going on with that tbh lol

i really like this one too. it’s cool. i get why maybe they wanted to go a little crazier tho, feels too simplistic for the MAYHEM vibe they’re going for.

we see a different looking blue/yellow ship flying away from the explosion. it seems to missing a lot of the parts that make sanc-iii so recognizable including the engines/wings

i like the destruction vibe they’re going for here, really sells the “universe destroying power” the twins are supposedly going to get.

anyway, in addition to the cover art pieces, we also got a few concept art pieces as well!

and this does indeed looks to be a younger version of angel so credit to @prettypinkdork for mentioning that on my angel post. it is nice to see those tech-y wings in action, definitely does prove it’s her.

we can also see this art of what i think is Punk Girl, which is interesting to me because she looks to be doing something with her right hand. possible siren powers? maybe!

we also get a much cooler, bigger version of that maliwan ship people were talking about, with what look to be maliwan... eye bots? surrounding it. this is soooo fuckin awesome to me because it reminds me of a sailboat. and airships are fucking COOL

but something interesting is that i don’t think this ship was actually always maliwan

we got an A in the back here... for Atlas? i mean... you know it’s coming... the colors would match up. Yeahhhhhhh...

more interesting is that it actually looks like maliwan covered it up with their flags/tarps. i would not be surprised if this was claimed by maliwan possibly during the takeover.

im pretty convinced this is something on elpis mostly because the DAHL logo on the side. which again, they were on pandora yes but they were mining for iridium not eridium. if this was pandoran pumping stations, that would be hyperion.

i do think this is elpis. and i do think the twins are using the chemical sludge that mutated the lost legion into those fake siren things to give their followers superpowers.”holy holy holy” indeed.

this, plus the rakk wings on the psycho in the mask of mayhem are just convincing me more and more

What was the last kind thing that someone did for you? Over dinner I complained under my breath that it was hot and uncomfortable, but my dad picked up on it and readjusted the electric fan so that it would be little more pointed at my direction. Do you know anyone whose birthday was yesterday? John Cena, if he counts lol. Tell me about the strangest dream you've had recently (if you can remember) Most of them have been sooo weird recently. The last vivid one I can remember involved Ed and Rosemarie from the TLC show 90 Day Fiance because I was watching their episode before I took that nap hahaha. I dreamt they got married and some people from my high school were invited ksksksks so weird. When was the last time you laughed at yourself? Why? There was an unfamiliar (and kinda large) bird that flew over me and my mom here at the rooftop and I completely panicked and ran for the stairs. We had a good laugh about it afterwards because we sounded so stupid screaming. Name one of your favourite foods that starts with the letter 'A'. Does it have to be in English? I really like alimango, which is just crab in English. I’ve tried racking my brain for English words but the closest thing to being a ‘favorite’ of mine is avocado, but I only like it when it’s incorporated in other dishes, like cheesecake.

Who was the last person you text messaged? Have you ever seen him/her cry? Angela’s mom - I thanked her when she sent me a birthday greeting. I’ve never seen her cry but I’d be heartbroken if I did; she’s one of the kindest people I know. When was the last time you updated your Facebook status? I know Gabie likes albondigas, Yabu katsu, and any kind of pasta. When was the last time you had mixed emotions/feelings? Why? This morning when I found out our lockdown has been extended until May 15. I was ok with the extra time at home but I was also no longer ok with the extra time at home. Idk, it’s a weird feeling overall. How far away is the person you love/like? 15 minutes if I drive as fast as much as I feel restless to see her. Maybe 25-30 minutes if I drive more carefully. It’s a little comforting - and poetic - though that I live in the lower part of the city and having a rooftop allows me to see the higher portion, so whenever I miss her I just gaze at the peak of the mountain, where she lives.

What was the last thing you put in the bin? The sachet of 3-and-1 coffee I opened to make the cup of coffee currently beside me. Can you remember the last time you had a sudden change of mind? I was feeling okay and a bit playful this afternoon but for some reason both of my parents snapped at me at the same time, so it effectively destroyed my mood and I stormed to my room, as hot as it gets in the afternoon, and slept for the next 5 hours. Have you paid anyone a compliment today? Who? I don’t think so. When was the last time you had butterflies? Why? Yesterday. Gonna be a bit of a story but here we go - I was surprised to see my girlfriend’s dad send a friend request on Facebook (we’ve been friends for a while now) so I figured he pressed the wrong buttons, unfriended me, and just added me again so I thought nothing of it and accepted the request. Told Gab about it shortly after and she said it was a spam account pretending to be him and told me to unfriend it immediately. I’ve heard enough of spam accounts getting private information off of unknowing people, so that’s Butterflies Part 1 for me because the damage had already been done with me adding him.

Anyway minutes after, his dad messages me and says there’s an account pretending to be him and if I already accepted the friend request, I had to unfriend it immediately. DUMB MOVE ON MY END but I replied, thanking him for the heads up and told Gabie “I talked to him, everything’s ok!” and then Gabie gave me Butterflies Part 2 when she said “...are you serious? Are you even sure it’s him?” so I started panicking because I thought I took the bait and I started thinking about all my private shit already being taken lmao. So I deleted the message and asked Gabie how I could prove if it’s the real Dad, so she said to check the profile and thankfully the account that messaged me was her dad so it was a false alarm hahahaha. Tl;dr, I would do AWFUL in a scam. Is there anything you hope will happen in the near future? For the virus to disappear, for the lockdown to end, for my unemployment/job-hunting anxiety to end.

trials & tribulations thoughts

the recency of tgwdlm meant i was thinking about this song throughout the whole game. anyways

i finished the game earlier this afternoon and wow that was a ride!! i did a short post after jfa but since i took a year-long gap between cases 3 & 4 of that game my memory wasn��t as fresh and i didnt necessarily have as much to say, so this time i’ll put it under a cut and keep it a bit more... organized?

turnabout memories

basically this case fuckin slaps. easily the strongest opening case so far, having it be a flashback is a good excuse for a tutorial case without... yknow... whatever that amnesia nonsense in jfa was. mia is awesome, college phoenix is adorable, dahlia... is dahlia. i knew going in that she was Not A Good Person so i’m glad they got that out right off the bat so it wasn’t like a huge spoiler lmao

also, it’s a classic ace attorney two-in-one case! those are always fun. anyways, this one was pretty straightforward, i felt like i was usually a few steps ahead of the game in putting the case together, but not so far that it was frustrating

the stolen turnabout

right so i’m just gonna put this out there: i love ron and desiree delite. they’re valid as fuck. ok thanks

this one genuinely threw me for a loop cause i went “whoa, a non-murder case??” and then, no just kidding, it’s a murder! but the way the two cases (the theft and the murder) played off each other, the double jeopardy rule, using one crime as an alibi for the other, all that was really neat

sidenote: i called godot’s identity pretty much immediately, and i think i might have been influenced by some spoilers i’d seen in the past, but it was a long time ago and i don’t remember exactly what i saw? it’s hard to say. but between the coffee thing and the “i’ve returned from the depths of hell” bit i was onto him real fast

recipe for turnabout

okay. this case felt like the one real weak spot in this game tbh? i didn’t hate it but i had some... problems. here’s some stuff i really liked, to start:

viola. everything about her, really

the whole phony phoenix wright confusion

computer virus stuff

the way the murder reenactment kinda cracks the whole case open (the way phoenix reached that conclusion maybe not so much, but w/e)

bluffing at the end

maggey good

anyways. parts of this case were kinda? exhausting? victor kudo’s testimony kinda just seemed to drag on and lead nowhere for a long time until it’s ruled inconclusive... only for phoenix to suddenly go ‘actually, he was telling the truth, and he saw a fake version of the murder!’ which is interesting in and of itself, but it felt like a weird roundabout way to get there and i wasn’t following all the leaps of logic.

i wasn’t really all that into the maggey/gumshoe subplot either, like, it was fine, but it didn’t feel entirely necessary to me? whatever i guess

also armstrong being the effeminate gay man making everyone uncomfortable and that being played for humor was... not great.

turnabout beginnings

i felt uneasy for a lot of this case, knowing it ended badly somehow... and boy it sure did.

still, cool seeing young edgeworth (and how he was... taking after von karma. hm). also i have to wonder how that diego reveal plays if you’re not expecting it

as for the case itself... tbh there were a lot of points i got kinda tripped up on, i felt like you were using certain pieces of evidence a LOT? but it was interesting. anyways on to the big one

bridge to the turnabout

holy shit yall i have emotions

i absolutely loved how this brought together basically every major character and plot thread - the fey clan, DL-6, dahlia, diego armando, franziska’s return, just. fucking. everything. it’s all connected

some things i knew going in b/c spoilers (maya channeling dahlia), some things i just guessed early on (elise = misty), some things i had no fucking clue about (basically everything w/r/t iris, her family situation, godot being the killer), but regardless it was a hell of a ride. this track being everywhere was nice too

list in no particular order because there’s so much i wanna gush about:

dumbass phoenix rushing to save maya and falling in the fucking river. what did you think would happen? seriously though, i love their friendship and i, too, would cross a burning bridge for maya fey

PLAYING AS EDGEWORTH! it was a neat change of pace, and seeing him get a taste of things from phoenix’s side was nice. also his reaction to the psyche-locks

godot’s ringtone

first day of trial being prosecutor v prosecutor and the second being defense attorney v defense attorney. idk how intentional that was. but it was neat

i have mixed feelings on him as, like, a person, but godot is an interesting character, and i figured he had to tie into it somehow but it completely slipped my mind that he could be the killer until maya’s testimony. so that was fun

everyone roasting larry’s sketch. the court record describing it as “horrible”

i love maya fey so much yall. i just wanna wrap her up in a blanket and give her some hot cocoa. she deserves the world. i may or may not have teared up a bit when she finally recovered and started her testimony and just looked. so drained after everything. that’s my girl

i think i’m done but long story short i loved this case and just about everyone in it. edgeworth and maya in particular just fuckin reached through the screen and latched the fuck on to my heart. good case

also... i’m still kinda sorting out my thoughts on iris? i liked her for sure, she was interesting, but there’s, like, a lot to unpack with her relationship with dahlia and phoenix and it’s. it’s a lot.

To me, the difference made by a gender swap would depend on the character. For some, there’d be hardly any difference (Pearl would be just as adorable, the judge would look and sound just as authoritative, and even some of the main characters would be practically the same), but for others it’d change quite a few things about them (Laura Butz would likely be hitting on guys instead of girls, Mason Fey would have a completely different role in his family, Frederick von Karma would be intimidating in a completely different way, and so on). The only real difference between them is that one is the real “champion of justice,” and the other just acts like him. If someone writes to Bobby Fulbright without stating whether it’s to the real one or the Phantom disguised as him, I usually answer it as the Phantom. The games don’t give us much information about what the real one was like, so it’s probably safe to assume the Phantom’s personality is an almost perfect copy of his.

First let me just say that I’d be giving you a high-five right now if I could. It’s a breath of fresh air to hear some words of encouragement about the controversies that have crept into this blog more often than we (and I imagine you all) would like to see. I do my best not to let those stress me out too much, but there are times when they do, so thank you for being understanding about it. That’s an attitude we can all use more of.

There aren’t very many characters I like but dislike answering as, or vice versa, but I guess one example of that would be Apollo. He’s a nice guy and a great character, but he doesn’t seem to have the same goofy sense of humor as Phoenix, Trucy, and Athena -- in fact, probably the funniest thing he does is to get fed up with their jokes. I do enjoy answering as him, but I think he takes himself a little too seriously most of the time.

A good example of a character I’m not fond of but enjoy answering is, oddly enough, Dahlia. As much as the cut of her jib sickens me, it’s interesting to think of how she might try to out-clever people who get sassy with her (as I have many times before) or come up with a twisted rationalization of her sadistic actions and thoughts. Not to mention I sort of like the creativity in her haiku.

Lastly, while submitters are under no obligation to keep away from any specific topic, they are advised to keep in mind that, as our Submission Guidelines page states, letters that include hot-button topics will be less likely to get an answer. No I totally agree, the POV change is annoying, esp since we just got one clip from mayas POV before switching again. But tbh I’m also glad we didn’t have to see that. Idk but I fully expect mayas POV back next clip. They could add some extras clips if they wanna focus on lamif.

I only watched a few clips from s7 so I’m curious why you don’t care for tiffax and tiff, if you’re ok sharing? Or I can get off anon and private message, I’m just curious. I kinda don’t care to watch because I’ve heard they barely address the bullying, they just kinda gloss over it and since I really like lola, I figure that may annoy me. I tried starting it and I was already getting annoyed by it lol

oh nonnie i absolutely do NOT mind sharing why i don’t like tiff or tiffax!!! so, i actually did not watch tiff’s season either. i started out only watching the clips with la mif, but then i realized they were ruining those characters for me too, so i stopped watching all together. however, i still feel completely qualified in telling you why

like you said, they barely addressed the bullying. that was one of the few clips i did watch, and basically they had lola get upset that all of her friends were suddenly buddy buddy with the girl that bullied her (not even because she was worried about herself! because she was worried jo would be next to get hurt!) and they all sided with tiff basically and she ram out crying and upset and then from what i know it wasn’t really brought up again??? it was just let go?? super gross. horrible really. and like i frankly do not give a fuck if she changed, if she can’t give a proper apology, it just means to me that her loyalties shifted and she’s still a shitty ass person. and as for tiffax, i don’t care for them as a couple simply because i hate tiff and i think max is a really good character that deserves way better! not to mention that he was literally into her before she had even attempted to apologizing to lola so like they way they started hanging out doesn’t sit right with me either

PLVAA P13- “A taste of despair” yep that’s an accurate description of life without Maya in it

Nick is dealing with Maya’s apparent death the way he deals with all grief: by repressing the fuck out of it and pretending things are cool. He keeps spacing out and not paying attention when everyone’s talking but then acts like he’s fine. NICK.

ugh here comes inqusitor Barnham their conversation is basically like this (Nick even gets TWO special angry animations for it, literally the first time in this entire game they are used)

Barnham: Defender Wright, I’m sorry about

Phoenix: HI I HATE YOU

Barnham: the loss of Maya Fey-

Phoenix: I. HATE. YOU.

B: okay but-

Phoenix: I FUCKING PROVED MAYA INNOCENT

B: okay i know that

Phoenix: BUT SHE’S STILL DEAD!!!

B: okay i’m saying-

Phoenix also remembers Luke’s bff is dead rn too and thanks him for keeping it together. Luke is like “IT’S OKAY THEY’LL BOTH COME BACK I’LL FIGURE OUT HOW TO CAST RESURRECT” and Pheen’s like “yeah ok sure”

anyway we wander into rogue’s tavern and Pheen’s like “if Maya was here...she’d jump on the chandelier...and try to steal the candles...” until Maya comes back to life Phoenix is going to comment on everything he sees and be like “if maya was here...she’d steal that...” “if maya was here...she would be destroying that by now” “i wish...i wish maya was here... to kick that person’s ass...”

wow a hot pirate lady is boss of this tavern of rogues i approve. She’s nice too. she tells luke he’s very level headed for someone so young “but what’s wrong with your friend there” and luke is like “oh don’t mind him he just saw his best friend burned alive but he’ll be fine by tomorrow that’s how long the grieving process takes im told”

Maya may be dead but that doesn’t mean Phoenix doesn’t have enough energy to insult any crappy art he sees

Nick can’t sleep he’s too depressed over Maya. BUT HE’LL BE FINE BY TOMORROW RIGHT LUKE.

Nick decides the solution is to get grape juice get drunk “get a glass of water” at the tavern.

aaaaa this is suffering i care about Nick and Maya too much even this stupid crossover game is getting me

Nick: (about Luke) He seems to be....in good spirits but he just...lost someone very dear to him. I’m sure deep down he’s hurting... And Espella was nearly burned alive. And I can’t stop thinking Maya’s death was all my fault. But I...I need to be stronger. But I’m scared. I’m scared what happened to Maya will happen again. I’m the only one who can protect the two of them but it feels...hopeless.

It really is a good thing here because Luke is all “I’LL DO MY BEST MR. WRIGHT” and Nick’s inclination to dad any and all children who come his way distracts him from his overwhelming survivors guilt. THANK GOD FOR NICK’S DAD INSTINCTS.
