RANT ON THE BOYF RIENDS BECAUSE I'M A WEIRDO LOL (Warning: RIDICULOUSLY LONG!)
I saw someone say something along the lines of "Boyf Riends just doesn't work on (the) Broadway (production)" so I'm now gonna rant about it cause I'm a weirdo and I love be more chill (Context, this was under a video with a whole bunch of drawings of Michael and Jeremy in different productions, so played by different actors! Someone commented "Someone should add Broadway" and the op replied with the line I first mentioned, no hate to this person, I'm just being a nerd, also if they see this, your art was amazing and I have nothing against you!!) But anyways this just set me off not a whole tageant about their dynamic, so be prepared for that!
So side note before I start ranting, I'm not saying this in a "Die-hard Boyf Riends shipper" way or something, more in a "the thing this person says makes no apparent sense (at least to me rn)" , also if you want to discuss this feel free to DM me and I'll happily hear you out, I might change my mind about this if someone gives me a good argument, who knows! I'm more than down to discussing this
So anyways, this point just doesn't make sense because of one simple thing: The show's plot and main story points don't change from one production to another. Sure, some details or even dialogue, might change! Hell, the addition of LGW in the Broadway/off-Broadway (?) Run gave as a totally different point of view into Jeremy's character and motivations! But that doesn't change the WHOLE story or the entirety of the perception x person may have on said main character. This just lets us dig a bit deeper into Jeremy's character and how he feels in the moment of making this huge decision of (basically) dumping Michael.
So into why Boyf Riends does/doesn't "work" (work meaning in this context that they fit together, or are fit for each other to put it some way)
I have to start off this by saying that their romantic relationship would not be the healthiest one to say the least. Like you can see this in the platonic relationship they have in the show! And, man, of course it won't be, they're 16! They do not know enough about relationships, neither platonic, romantic or anything in between. Not to say their relationship would be toxic! They just have some codependency issues to work through, because it may not be that apparent but they are, in fact, co-dependent to each other in some ways! They care A LOT about the other's opinion and what they would do in their place, this is shown more from Jeremy's side (probably because we're seeing the story though his lense) than Michael's, we can see this in MITB mainly, whole he's essentially having the breakdown of his life, and we aren't able to see that much of his concern for whether Jeremy likes him or not because he's so okay with himself, he doesn't care what other people think, he wouldn't change for anyone! Which is also why MITB is such an important arc to Michael, because we see that he's not perfectly 100% confident, he's vulnerable too, and he cares, because, shocker! He's still a teenager, with complicated feelings and problems!! He just doesn't constantly feed his insecurities and anxieties because, unlike Jeremy, he likes who he is, he's come to accept himself and wouldn't change for anyone! This latter point is very important, because this means (or at the very least implies) that he will put himself first, not in a selfish way, but in a good way, that's healthy! However, this changes in The Pants Song. You could argue that "He doesn't change anything about him tho! He just decides to help Jeremy!" And you'd be right! But he does so by putting Jeremy before himself and his feelings! Because he's angry, he's grieving because he didn't expect his best friend to turn on him, he needs to process it at least and he deserves to be upset! He insists on not helping him at first, but at last he's convinced by Mr.Heere and ends up, basically doing what Jeremy's father should have done. He basically goes out and saves everyone's ass, even after he gets called a loser on the Halloween party, essentially beat up by a SQUIP-possessed-but-still-Jeremy Jeremy during the play etc.
On Jeremy's side, he is kind of jealous of Michael! Because in Jeremy's eyes, Michael is cool! And he's great! And Jeremy can't process why Michael doesn't hate himself like he does, because the two of them share a lot of traits that Jeremy is bullied for! Because even if not shown, Michael is probably bullied too, but he doesn't pay it any mind, his love of himself is too strong to be affected by it! Jeremy, in some way, kind of looks up to Michael, this could partly also be because of a lack of a parental figure to look up to, but that's a whole other thing. This could affect his view on things, because you could argue that Jeremy sees the SQUIP as that "parental" figure to look up to! Because it knows what's best for him, or so it says, and it's gonna solve all off his problems! So during the bathroom intervention, Michael essentially goes against this idol figure Jeremy has (the SQUIP) which, in Jeremy's eyes, is good! So in that logic, Michael must be the bad person in this! Which is what prompts him to push him away (both literally and metaphorically). That wasn't the point I was discussing tho so back to that! Jeremy needs Michael's approval, he needs Michael to reassure that what he's doing is right! Because nobody else will do the things for Jeremy, not his father, that's for sure!
The problem is that, well, Michael doesn't completely get this! He doesn't get that Jeremy needs him to make the decision for him or help him out, so he just tries to distract him from it with the whole "Cool In College" thing, and at the same time, accidentally confirms his fears, never with that intention of course! But he does. A good example is these lines from Two Player Game: "Dude you are cooler than a vintage cassette, it's just that no one else but me thinks that yet! You're just a nothing in this high school scheme [...]"
Is Michael saying Jeremy's fine the way he is? Yeah! You can understand that from his speech! Will Jeremy most probably just pick up on how he says nobody else thinks that? Also yes
So in conclusion, to end this all off because I'm writing this at 1 in the morning, Michael and Jeremy's relationship does have flaws, it has it's positive and negative aspects, but they can work through them! And about the whole SQUIP incident, I think they just need to actually talk about it and understand why they both did what they did (Mainly for Jeremy's part) and just move on forward! Could moving on forward mean going into a romantic relationship? Sure! It can be whatever kind of relationship you want! Can it also just continue to be platonic/friendship? Sure! Could both work out equally well? YEP! At least from my point of view!
Thanks for listening to me rant, I just have to say this probably went way off rail from what I was saying at the start and might feel kinda pointless, but again, it is 1 am and I'm not reading this again, I hope you can at least enjoy it! :)
#sorry if this is pointless#but anyways pls do dm me and argue w me#because id love to talk about this#be more chill#jeremy heere#michael mell#boyf riends#bmc#bemorechill#the squip#rant post#huuuuge rant#me being goofy

Winx Club ships as Taylor Swift songs
Flora and Helia- Enchanted
Stella and Brandon- Paper Rings
Bloom and Sky- Love story
Tecna and Timmy- Snow on the beach
Aisha and Nabu- Fearless
Musa and Riven- Stay, Stay, Stay
Not going to lie, so many other songs would fit these couples as well.
Reasonings for each
Flora and Helia- Enchanted
This night is sparkling, don't you let it go I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home I'll spend forever wondering if you knew I was enchanted to meet you
Okay, so the whole song fits but I loved these lines for them. The whole song is about meeting someone and feeling awed by them. There is a sense of 'will they meet again?" much like when Flora and Helia first met. The whole song is whimsical, sweet and romantic, much like these two.
Stella and Brandon- Paper Rings
"I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings Uh huh, that's right Darling, you're the one I want, and I hate accidents except when we went from friends to this Uh huh, that's right Darling, you're the one I want"
How does this not scream them? Stella is a princess and loves her sparkly things, but with Brandon she doesn't care; all she wants is him. Plus, there was the whole lying thing and how she found out which fits with the accidents part. Overall, I think it captures them perfectly.
Bloom and Sky- Love Story
"Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone I'll be waiting, all there's left to do is run You'll be the prince, and I'll be the princess It's a love story, baby, just say yes"
Bloom is 100% taken by the whole magic of princesses and princes, and I think this song hones in on her wide-eyed innonce while still showing how much they love each other. It also even shows how Erendor isn't a fan if you squint, so overall I think it fits them all 100% Tecna and Timmy- Snow on the beach This scene feels like what I once saw on a screen I searched "aurora borealis green" I've never seen someone lit from within Blurring out my periphery" This song shows how both of them are shy, awkward and kind og in disbelief of each other but shows how much they adore each other. It even harkens back to the Omega Dimension, with all the snow, where their love grew stronger. Overall, I love them and think this song shows their bond well.
Aisha and Nabu Well, you stood there with me in the doorway My hands shake, I'm not usually this way but You pull me in and I'm a little more brave It's the first kiss, it's flawless, really somethin' It's fearless This song kinda of shows how neither of them expected to fall in love with each other but it happened anyway. With Nabu by her side, she is even braver than she is alone, and it also shows how she is usually super independent but Nabu brings out a softness in her while still keeping her strength. 10\10 think it suits them.
Musa and Riven- Stay, Stay, Stay I'm pretty sure we almost broke up last night I threw my phone across the room at you I was expecting some dramatic turn away But you stayed
When these two are good, they are my absolute favourite. The lines I just showed fit them perfectly, and show how even though they fight, they fit each other well. The whole song shows their love and how they're imperfect, but their love can smooth their rough edges. There you go! Let me know your thoughts and if you think another T-Swift song fits! I had a hard time choosing but think these all fit well.
#winx headcannons#musa x riven#aisha x nabu#flora x helia#stella x brandon#bloom x sky#tecna x timmy#winx club

i would love to whose perspective you had in mind for all of the spommy taylors version songs!!! unless they were picked solely on vibes which is also totally valid
Oh Anon you have no IDEA what you have unleashed by asking me this question! So thank you so much for that <3 and let's go!
(I have like almost twenty pages worth of google doc with assigned lyrics and comments for why (most of) these songs fit for them and in this playlist! I will try my best to keep this as short as my brain allows...)
As I mentioned in the original Spommy (taylor's version) post, the order that we put these songs in has it's reasons. So I will go through the different relationship stages and corresponding songs one by one. And try to briefly explain whose POV it's supposed to represent and maybe highlight a few specifc lines.
Colour coding the song's main POV:
Tommy
Spencer
both
(Song assignments under the cut)
small disclaimer: obviously we are talking about a fictionalized version of "canon" that is loosely based on/inspired by stuff they have mentioned in videos and their general internet personas. None of the thoughts I'm sharing here are meant as 100% fact or true "insight" to their personal lives. We're all just having fun! (Obviously we all agree on this kind of stuff, I just need to write it down somewhere, for my own conscience)
The Before Meeting stage:
You’re on your own kid
Anti-Hero
-> both of these songs feel super tommy-coded (the whole sexy baby/monster on the hill stuff, for example, reminds me a bit of the body dysmorphia he's mentioned in a few videos)
tied together with a smile
-> this one could work either with one or both singing this about themselves or the other imo
-> just the whole aspect of trying to hold yourself together while struggling with fullfilling expectations
2. The First meeting/Beginning stage
Everything has changed
-> both of them just being fascinated by eachother upon their first meeting
mirrorball
-> a theme for a lot of the more Tommy-centric POVs of these songs was inspired mostly by the aforementioned body image issues and also the fear of living up to his own or other ppl's expectations in terms of his own creativity etc.
(I'm sure others, like maybe Spencer, struggle with parts of these aspects as well, I just feel like Tommy has talked about it more)
-> also Tommy beginning to see Spencer as someone he doesn't have to "pretend" around
cowboy like me
-> both of them recognizing pieces of themselves within the other
3. The Pining Stage
-> this stage is mostly from Spencer's POV. I believe in Pining!Tommy rights as well, however I felt like these song examples just fit Spencer a bit better given the situation
gold rush
-> aka the mini denial stage, where he falls into a daydream of what being with Tommy could be like; but not wanting to let himself indulge too much in these thoughts
also "your hair falling into place like dominoes" sounds so much like a line that could be about tommy!
Teardrops on my guitar
-> the pining is now in full force, but sadly Tommy has a boyfriend and Spencer has to suffer through him gushing about it, while he feels his crush begin to grow more and more; tho he doesn't allow himelf to do anything about his feelings
you belong with me
-> Spencer's switch from the 'good ol' fashioned pining' to "Um, actually I would fit way better with you than he does! So why can't you see what's right in front of you and start dating me instead?!"
(tho he still doesn't actually voice this outlout, yet)
4. The Flirting Stage
new romantics
-> mostly as a set-up for both of their general attitudes at the beginning of this stage and for the dancing/club theme of Gorgeous
gorgeous
-> this one is actually splitting the POV across different parts of the song
-> Verse 1 is Spencer with lines such as "compliment/made fun of the way you talk" and "you're so cool, it makes me hate you so much" (also the last time the soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend is mentioned in the playlist)
-> Verse 2 by Tommy with "talking to everyone here but you" (which reminds me of his dating answer in hot ones; but if I start talking about my thoughts on that bit, this will get way too long) and also "Ocean blue eyes looking in mine" (literally about Spencer💙)
-> the chorus is first sung by Spencer, next one Tommy and the others by both of them at eachother
-> also "Guess I'll just stumble on home to my cats… alone... Unless you wanna come along" is literally such a Spencer-coded line to me
-> also! if you or anyone wants to check out a fic of them with a slightly similar premise to this song, I can def reccomend Spencer vs Gay Panic by @soupy-girl 💗
I can see you
dress
-> with these two songs the daydreaming about the other and flirting increases
-> also I initially added this one to the list bc "flashback/your buzzcut and my hair bleached" are literally both accurate about Spencer lmao
i think he knows
-> I imagine the first verse mostly sung by Spencer and then the (pre) chorus by Tommy bc of lines like "He got that boyish look that I like in a man" and "Wanna see what's under that attitude" and of course later on"lyrical smile, indigo eyes" being about Spencer as well
5. The pre-dating stage
treacherous
-> I feel like this song has a constantly switching POV, in a duet sorta way. For example:
This slope is treacherous. This path is reckless.
This hope is treacherous. This daydream is dangerous.
but the bridge would be sung together, both deciding "I'll follow you home"
glitch
willow
jump then fall
fearless
Electric touch
-> I don't have a lot of notes on these 5 songs in particular, but the idea was basically them going from the insecurities that are still present in treacherous and seeing the thing that's developing between them as smth that just happened to them by accident, to then deciding to fully "jump into it" and letting themselves actually feel the excitement of it all in full force
6. The first few dates
begin again
-> the line "you throw your head back laughing like a little kid" fits both of them so well and I'm so soft just thinking about it
king of my heart
-> in the google doc I said that she wrote "Now you try on callin' me "baby" like tryin' on clothes" about this fic by @jovenshires and I stand by that
today was a fairytale
-> the whole first verse with "You wore a dark gray t-shirt You told me I was pretty when I looked like a mess" also feels so them-coded idk
style
-> I think this edit of them explains this better than I ever could 💖
I’m only me when I’m with you
-> it's about the "Well, you drive me crazy half the time"-but still being eachothers comfort person- of it all
snow on the beach
-> another duet style song where they take turns singing the verse and then chorus together; "Weird, but fuckin' beautiful"
-> also! I must admit that I was heavily inspired to add this song bc of this fanart by @urmxotive! which is so beautiful and reminds me of the "I've never seen someone lit from within" in this song
7. Dealing with Insecurities while being in a relationship
the archer
-> both, but especially bc "I cut off my nose just to spite my face" reminds me of what I briefly mentioned with Anti-Hero
nothing new
-> me and katie agree that this song is 100% tommy coded, but I don't wanna go into too much detail since this post is getting way too long already 🙈
peace
-> another duet-style song for them starting with tommy in v1 and then Spencer in the chorus
new year’s day
-> duet again, in the same order as the last one
stay stay stay
-> mostly Tommy's POV and him being relieved that Spencer knows how to deal with his mood swings
safe & sound
-> and this song from Spencer's POV about essientially the same "issue"
mine
-> themacceptance of their insecurities and celebration of taking on the future together
8. Good ol' estabished relationship fluff
call it what you want
-> similar theme as peace and nothing new, but leaving those worries behind from tommy's side
-> and also "My baby's fit like a daydream" reminded me of spencer at 1:43 in this clip ( from this video)
daylight
-> also duet-style; "Maybe I've stormed out of every single room in this town" reminds me of tommy ripping up his headshots
you are in love
-> I think Katies fic explains the POVs for this perfectly 💜
paper rings
-> "I hate accidents, except when we went from friends to this" tying back into glitch etc
invisible string
-> both of them growing up in florida and also both being eye-ptach-kids?? makes me so insane when I think about it for some reason
sweet nothing
-> it's about the "You say, "What a mind". This happens all the time" and "To you, I can admit that I'm just too soft for all of it" of it all
lover
-> and, finally "Swear to be overdramatic and true" and "And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me" is literally them. I rest my case, your honor
So this post got wayyyy too long and was prob way more then you asked for, anon, but I hope you enjoyed my ramblings anyways 😊
I have so many more thoughts about some of these song choices (like Nothing new, peace, new year's day and several others) and their order, and also even more specifically assigned lines in my google doc for this playlist. So in case you or anyone else wants the link to that, feel free to dm me. Or if you have you're own ideas about some of these choices or are curious about some specifics, my asks are always open 🤗
#also apologies for taking a bit to post this#I didn't have access to my laptop for two days and then reformating some of my notes from the doc took way longer than I anticipated#I love getting to talk about this stuff tho#so thanks again for the ask <3#spommy#taylor swift#tommy bowe#spencer agnew#playlist#lyric stuff#lyric analysis

hey hey! idk if this is where I submit for the match up! but I would love to see who you think I'd fit in with! I'm a creative soul who tends to try to develop deep friendships with people above everything. I have a bit of a savior complex as well lol I work hard and play harder, trying to find new adventures to go on with those i care about. I tend to support others before supporting myself, and while im happy to let others open up to me its hard for me to open up in return. the best way i can feel close to someone is deep conversations and being creative with them!
My current fav song has been Maybe IDK by John Bellion, specifically the lyric "i guess if i knew tomorrow i guess i wouldnt need faith" just the idea of living today to the best you can just because you don't know what will happen tomorrow. the worries of the future should keep you down today
My current fav Redacted audio has to be the Helping your Werewolf bf shift again. Specifically the acting is just so good to me. Erik did an amazing job of portraying Milo's anguish and pain at not being able to shift. Plus the relieved sobs at the end is so satisfying and emotional.
The one boy i cant get the hype around is Ivan. like sure the yandere thing is somewhat attractive to some, but i just don't like the idea of an actual psychopath being obsessed with me.
my favorite movie is definitely the Secret Life of Walter Mitty by Ben Stiller. its less of a quotable movie and more of i remember every scene very distinctly. its a movie that envelops my own escapism. its beautifully shot, wonderfully acted, and a wholesome story on a rainy day.
my platonic redacted crush has to be Damien. he seems like a blast to interact with and tease. he's a hard worker and is tied close to his goals which i can admire. i would love to body double with him if i had some tasks to get done
space is also 100% my ramble subject when im sleepy, that and greek mythology
My guilty pleasure media is currently the animated shows Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Lego Monkie Kid. despite being kids shows, both of these are beautifully animated and shockingly well written!
I hope that gives you an idea of me! I look forward to who you think i match with!
Hmm, lots of good tidbits of information to consider. You strike me as really thoughtful, really caring, and I think Lasko could really benefit from a partner like that.
A savior complex, from what I understand, is just wanting to help people and make their lives better, and Lasko’s a guidance counselor, so y’all would have that in common. What’s good about pairing two people like that is y’all could keep each other in line, so to speak. Something that’s important when you’re always looking out for other people is to make sure someone is always looking out for you and vice versa. You and Lasko together would always make sure you’re taking care of others, each other, and yourselves.
Another reason I like the two of you together is that you like being creative with one another as a bonding activity. You know what’s the ultimate way to be creative together? Tabletop role playing games! If you don’t already play, Lasko would be so excited to help you with a character sheet, to help you craft a backstory, paint some mini figurines, go out and buy the perfect game dice and notebooks- the greatest combination of nerdy and cute in a couple.
Song:
There now, steady love, so few come and don't go/ Will you won't you, be the one I always know?/ When I'm losing my control, the city spins around/ You're the only one who knows, you slow it down
One, the whole vibe of “you slow me down, I’ll look after you, we’re here for each other” vibes are exactly what I’m picturing for y’all. Also, Lasko and I are around the same age, and I heard this song a lot growing up. I have some weird, like, emotional resonance with it from childhood, and I think Lasko does too. Like, it makes him nostalgic and longing; maybe he always wanted someone to look after and to look after him, and now he’s finally found that in you.
Runner-Ups:
A very reasonable runner-up for you would be Camelopardalis because he would do a great job making sure you balance work and your personal life and that you don’t put others before yourself too much. A more fun runner-up would be Guy because I love sticking that beautiful Creative Writing major with other beautiful, creative people!
note: thank you for waiting, dear, and I hope you like your match-up! 💕
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

For the fic asks meme!
For your TWW fic: 5.
For any/all of your Natasha MCU/fics: 10 & 11
5. What's a piece of lore you haven't shown in your fic or don't think you'll be able to add in?
I specifically thanked @scullyseviltwin for helping me kill my darlings in the author's notes for The Seconds Before I Jumped, and I went back to the email thread from nine years ago to answer this question correctly. The thing I remembered cutting was the opening verse and chorus of "You Better You Bet," a song by the Who that I was debating using for the story's title. But the massive chunk of lyrics was distracting and added nothing.
The main actual thing that didn't make it into the final fic was more of a formal resolution to the Donna/Josh thread; apparently the line that she (100% rightly) made me cut was a tag at the very end: "About eight months later, Josh takes credit for the whole thing, and Donna elbows him in the stomach." It's probably accurate in the little universe of the fic, but I couldn't make a scene work at all around that single sentence. And, as a good beta should, @scullyseviltwin helped me realize that the fic didn't need it—it's about C.J. and Danny.
10. What is your favourite au? Have you written anything for it?
I don't have a favorite AU premise, because what a writer does with the premise matters so much more than whether it's a coffeeshop or a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
For my own work, though, it's probably the post-apocalyptic setting, since I covered that in Momentum Building and tell me where your strength lies ages well before I ever thought to write anything Marvel-related. how to get back there fits right into that category, to answer your question—though very loosely inspired by Terminator: Salvation, it's not a fusion (Every Part a Flame is, albeit of the original Terminator movie), and it's from Natasha's POV.
All that said, Making Your Way is still probably my favorite proper MCU AU I've written, although it's a bar/pub setting and not remotely related to the end of the world.
11. Is there anything important in your fic you think readers have missed/overlooked?
I'm struggling to think of an answer! Just about everything I've written that wasn't a short prompt-a-thon response was beta-read (typically by the brilliant @angstyteenagesam and/or @redrackham87), in part to make sure things worked the way I meant them to.
The stuff that probably get missed/overlooked in most of my stories is probably the same obscure research items everyone ends up with that don't really matter but that, for the author, must be exactly correct (e.g., when seatbelts were invented relative to the events of Every Part a Flame, since they bounce around—accurately—in a Jeep).
Alternatively, I also have a habit, as I'm sure many others do, of seeding my own little in-jokes with myself into fics. The bit about junior CEA staffers in the West Wing fic, for instance, and just about every location in that story are pulled from my own D.C. years.* Kaliningrad and Szeged (from shapeshift and trick) were places of significance relative to a summer program I did in Hungary in high school, and the Glenn Miller namedrop in that fic was for Rose Tyler.
There are also several instances across several fics of Natasha wearing my clothes, or preferring my coffee order at the time!
#miabicicletta#ask me ask me ask me#fic meme#writing meme#*the CEA bit is not about me but recalling the anecdotes of the person who it is about always amuses me personally#that tww story was also in part for prettyanswers who hasn't been on tumblr in AGES but who introduced me to the who song so it felt apropo#but it really added nothing to the story and the actual title i went with was really the one i'd been (correctly) wed to the whole time#i've said this before but i do miss how intensely shipping buckynat used to make me feel#it's kinda fun to revisit those stories because i AM proud of them and think they're pretty good#but i have felt so distant from the characters for so long at this point

Character ask: Hercules and Megara (Disney's "Hercules")
Tagged by anonymous
Hercules
Favorite thing about them: His innocence and likability. While he does have a touch of macho swagger at times – which is more "acting the way he thinks heroes act" than any real arrogance – he's basically just a normal, friendly, slightly goofy, kindhearted teenager who happens to be a musclebound demigod. He's as free of toxic masculinity as any version of Hercules/Herakles can be, and I love the way he blends courage with sweetness and vulnerability, especially in his romance with Meg. (I'm fairly sure that when he mourns Meg's death, he's the first adult, human, non-deformed male Disney hero to ever be shown crying.) His boyhood feelings of being a "freak" and not fitting in are poignant and relatable too, so his quest to rejoin the gods on Olympus, where he thinks he'll "belong," is an engaging one. So is his arc of learning that a "true hero" means something different than being a great, famous fighter, and that his birthplace isn't necessarily "where he belongs."
Least favorite thing about them: Two things. (1) The way he lashes out at Phil when the latter tries to convince him that Meg is a fraud. (2) The earlier moment when he's happy to hear that two little boys are trapped under fallen rocks, because it gives him the chance to prove his heroism by saving them. Even though it's played for laughs, it's still selfish of him. But I suppose that's part of the whole point of his character arc. While he's a good person and genuinely does want to help people, his deeds are always partly driven by the self-serving goal of earning back his godhood, which is why they don't prove him a "true hero." That he only becomes when he shows true selflessness for others – first when he faces near-certain death at the Cyclops's hands to save Thebes from destruction, and ultimately when he chooses to sacrifice his life for Meg.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I often feel like a misfit.
*I tend to be innocent and trusting.
*My greatest strength is my love for others.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I don't have godlike physical strength.
*I've never fought a monster.
*I'm female.
Favorite line: The lyrics to "Go the Distance."
brOTP: Phil and Pegasus.
In crossover-land, I also like the idea of him befriending Aladdin (as he did when their spinoff TV series had a crossover – their movies are especially similar in tone out of all the Disney canon, and Hercules's brawn combined with Aladdin's brain really would make them a good team), Ariel (a similarly naïve yet friendly, brave, and likable misfit – and if King Triton is the Triton from Greek mythology, then Ariel and Herc are first cousins once removed!), or Don Bluth's Anastasia (their respective movies have virtually the same plot in different trappings, so he would identify with her.)
OTP: Meg.
nOTP: Hades.
Random headcanon: When he eventually dies, instead of going to the Underworld he finally will rejoin the gods on Olympus, and Meg will be granted immortality to join him there.
Unpopular opinion: Sometimes it seems unpopular to like him. Repeatedly I've seen him either dismissed as a bland protagonist overshadowed by the other characters (especially Hades) or hated for not being 100% selfless and perfect. So even though he does have his fans too, I'll list the fact that I like him as my unpopular opinion.

Favorite pictures of them:
Megara
Favorite thing about them: In the first place, she's a fun character, with her sassy personality and all her clever, funny lines. I also love her complexity and uniqueness among the Disney heroines. A tough, jaded heroine who masks her inner pain with snarky humor? A morally gray heroine who starts out working for the villain and has a redemption arc? Maybe common in other movie genres, but not so common in Disney's animated canon! Family media is filled with the trope of "prickly cynic with a hard past and a hidden heart of gold meets and learns to love an innocent ray of sunshine who sees their inner goodness" – Disney has used that trope many times. But those pairings are usually "male cynic/female innocent," not the reverse, and I love that Hercules gender-flips that standard romance arc! That combined with Meg's playful wit makes her a favorite Disney heroine of mine.
Also, while she's far from the only Disney heroine or hero to temporarily "die" but then be revived near the end, she's one of the very few who explicitly really do die (not just lose consciousness or be put under a spell), in an especially brutal, self-sacrificing way too, and the only one revived by having her spirit physically brought back from the afterlife! That's fascinating stuff for child viewers in our culture where death is so often treated as taboo!
Least favorite thing about them: Well she does spend about 2/3rds of the movie (reluctantly) working for Hades and helping him try to bring Hercules down. But of course her redemption is part of the whole point of her character.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I'm a brunette female.
*I'm sometimes tempted to be cynical and untrusting.
*I like Hercules's innocence and kindness.
Three things I don't have in common:
*I'm not particularly sassy.
*I'm no good at flirting.
*I've never had a romantic partner dump me for someone else.
Favorite line:
In the clutches of Nessus the Centaur:
"I'm a damsel... I'm in distress... I can handle this. Have a nice day!"
Her self-introduction to Hercules:
"Megara. My friends call me Meg, at least they would if I had any friends. So, did they give you a name along with all those rippling pectorals?"
In response to Hercules being happy about the two trapped children:
"You're really choked up about this, aren't you?"
After Hercules escapes from his crazy teenage fangirls:
"It's alright. The sea of raging hormones has ebbed."
When Hades wants her to find out Hercules's weakness, because Pain and Panic couldn't handle him as a baby but Meg can "handle him as a man":
"Hey, I've sworn off manhandling!"
And her understated confession after her self-sacrifice:
"People always do crazy things when they're in love."
brOTP: Phil and Pegasus, once they learn to like her.
In crossover-land, I'd like to see her be friends with Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (another sassy, sexy and tough, dark-haired and purple-clad heroine, but one with a sweetness and idealism that would make her a good foil for Meg's cynicism), or with Dimitri from Anastasia or Flynn Rider from Tangled (two male heroes with wisecracking, morally gray personalities similar to her's, and who have similar character arcs of "self-interest to self-sacrifice" as they fall for their respective love interests).
OTP: Hercules.
nOTP: Hades.
Random headcanon: She's slightly older than Hercules (since he's 18, I'll imagine that she's 20 or 21), and in a reversal of gender expectations, he's a virgin but she's not. She's his first love, after all, and he isn't the type to have sex outside of a real relationship, but she lost her virginity to the earlier boyfriend who jilted her.
Unpopular opinion: I don't think I have one.
Song I associate with them: "I Won't Say I'm In Love"

dr3 chiaki for the ask game?
CHIAKI CHIAKI CHIAKI CHIAKI CHIAKIIIIIIIIIII
i kinda don't distinguish dr3 and sdr2 Chiaki becuse I close my eyes at the part of the canon that says she's dead lol. it's my world and my rules she's alive and well ok
favorite thing about them
Her passion to her hobby/talent. I relate to that a lot and also find it a very interesting quirk of hers. Like other ultimates don't really lose their sleep and food to do more photos or cooking or else. Other than Ryota and that's why we kin him too. Idk makes me wonder why Nanami is the way she is
least favorite thing about them
Here's two 1) The way fandom treats her. She gets SO much hate and for what? She just wanted to play her silly games all day and have friends :( The "mary sue" treatment like yeah she's not the best written character in the series but she's fine! It's not a crime to not have a detail backstory or character. it's sad we don't have it, but it doesn't make her awful. Oh and I HATE the "waifu bait" thing!! The fact that Kodaka said in the interview that he made a character with similar hobbies as him is not the same as waifu bait! I can relate to this feeling of his and see nothing bad with it. She's not just a pretty looks and "uwu gamer girl" (she doesn't fit the stereotype at all imo) and those who think otherwise didn't really pay attention to her. And 2) How little focus she has despite her role. I wish dr3 spent some time developing her character and story. We know very little about her life before the events! And it's sad! Her behavior gives a lot of food for thought of why she's the way she is and I would love to see more canon material about it. Esp if we consider that in canon it's the real Chiaki. Not focusing on her as a person was a big mistake
favorite line
From sdr2: "Nagito can you please be quiet" like yes girl!! So epic of her. AND THE WAY NAGITO IMMEDIATELY SHUTS UP FDKGMJ. And "How should I lure out Nagito? No, acting sexy won't work..." like girl why was it the first idea you had huh?? Huh?? huuuh??? 👁👁👁👁
From dr3: "I wanted to play games with you... One more time..." and her whole near death speech in general. like GIRL YOU'RE DYING AND YOU THINK YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SHOULD SAY SORRY?? Let me hug you T^T I had to rewatch that scene for this and it breaks my heart everytime. ON A BRIGHTER NOTE it's not a line but a k.o she gave Hanamura even tho she was affected by the soup. It was so badass of her like YEES GIRL SHOW HIM!!!! #HanamuraSlander
brOTP
So many honestly... Hinanami and even komanami, her and chihiro and her and sonia... I feel like she would get along with a lot of people
OTP
Komanami 100%. Nanami canonically has always been the only person in their class who didn't hate Komaeda at every point of the story. She has always shown compassion and support to him. While also not approving of his wrong actions and doing her best to show him that there's other way. That he can be their classmate and friend too. There's part in her dr wiki page that says "Even self-deprecating Nagito Komaeda understands that Chiaki would always invite him even if no one else would" LIKE?? And people still say that they canonically hate each other??? I'm sure they were friends in dr3
nOTP
Hinanami lol. Sorry to every hinanami lover here but I don't see the chemistry at all. And I just feel like the impact they had on each other hits stronger if you think of them as friends. At least it's the way I see it lol. Don't think it's bad tho, it's definitely nice. Just not my cup of tea
random headcanon
Autistic!! It makes SO much sense, the most making sense thing possible ever. Gaming is also her coping mechanism and a way to hide from outside world, that feels too unpredictable and scary to her
unpopular opinion
Things i said in "least favorite thing about them" and also does headcanoning her alive and giving her more character traits and more detailed story counts? idk. Also there's no way she's as skinny as in canon
song i associate with them
"Apparently there's a cheat code for happiness" eng cover by Milkychan. Because I heard in a first Nanami edit I saw back in 2019 by an editor that since long deleted their videos... They greatly inspired me to edit too. Other than that it also fits her. The way she also interprets things in life as in video game. I can see her understanding key elements of happiness at life as some video game achievements or boosts klhgbn

Week ending: 13th August
No, it's not the Black Keys song, more's the pity. We're a good half-century too early for that. And yet, Paul Anka's got much the same problem. Will he find somebody to cure his loneliness? Only one way to find out...
Lonely Boy - Paul Anka (peaked at Number 3)
Immediately, upon hitting play, there's something striking about this song. I think it's the big, bombastic rhythms, more than anything - already in the intro, with its drum hits and violins, we've got this strongly accented 3/4 time established. And something about the booming bass drum beats and the use of brass instruments throughout only serves to accentuate it, giving the whole thing an almost oom-pah vibe. It feels very schlager, to me, almost like a tune you'd hear at Oktoberfest, which I'm not entirely sure is an intentional vibe.
I'm also not entirely sure that the jauntiness of it really fits the tone of the song, which is all about - surprise, surprise - how lonely Paul is, and how I'm just a lonely boy, lonely and blue, / I'm all alone with nothing to do. He has everything a man could want, but is lacking somebody to kiss and to hold. And so he begs, somebody, somebody, somebody please, / Send her to me, / I'll make her happy, / Just wait and see. It's theoretically pretty heartfelt stuff. But something in the stop-start nature of the rhythm really robs it of its emotional impact, for me. Paul's giving it his all, but I'm just not sold on it, at least not enough for it to garner much sympathy. You've got everything you want except a girl? Let me play the world's tiniest violin, Paul.
This is also a small thing, and I don't know if I 100% dislike it, but it's a bit disconcerting anyway - listen closely, and you'll hear that Paul's voice is doubled up throughout the song. I presume this is for the sake of the someone to love chorus, where he does harmonies. But there's something very odd about it in the bits where he's in unison with himself, almost like the two tracks aren't quite synchronised right - it's like you get Paul and then his echo. Not a bad sound, necessarily, but it threw me, at first, as I tried to figure out why it was happening during the verses.
The song was from a film, called Girls Town, where Paul had his acting debut. And honestly, nothing about the song I'd just listened to prepared me for the film's plot description. It's about a 16 year-old juvenile delinquent whom circumstancial evidence places at the scene of the crime where a man attempted to rape a young woman and got pushed off a cliff to his death for it. Our delinquent protagonist, as a result of this misunderstanding, ends up being sent to a school run by nuns, while there's a subplot including the protagonists' sister (who was really the one at the crime scene) being blackmailed into illegal drag racing, and then almost brought to Tijuana, there to be sold into slavery. Meanwhile a completely delusional third character has a seemingly unconnected sub-subplot where she becomes convinced that a teen idol, played by Paul, is in love with her. All of which sounds absolutely unhinged, and has squat all to do with the song.
We're really seeing a lot of music tying into films at the moment, aren't we? We've had that before, but it was more soundtracks, then. There was the occasional "singer who acts", but it wasn't the default. Now it seems like every other musician wants to break into film. After all, it worked for Elvis, didn't it? Actually, it's still working for Elvis - he obviously can't make any films while on military service, but he's got three lined up at this point for when he's finished. And Cliff's proving that the same model works in the UK to, or can work, at least. And yet, very few of the films these people are in seem to have really lasted - this one seems pretty disposable, for example, and I don't know anybody who's sitting down to watch Elvis' filmography nowadays, either, except perhaps some more die-hard fans. Which is fine - I get the impression that the films existed more to lure people into cinemas with the promise of new, hip music, and less with an eye towards leaving a lasting legacy, or being a cinematic masterpiece, or anything. Just a shame about the track they picked for this one, I guess.
Favourite pick of the unfortunately oom-pah-ish bunch: Lonely Boy

SR Taruchi [Music Week] Voice Lines - PASTEL BXMB!
Thank you @raguiras for hosting this event!!!! Your idea is SOOO good and creative, I love all the groups and how much thought you put into it!! Tbh this is the first fan event I've officially participated in and it's all bc the concept is so fun HAHAHA ty again mionn <333
There are more voice lines + the non-pull looking card under the cut!
Summon Line: Sometimes I forget this is just a short event thing. I'm having a lot more fun than I thought! Kinda makes me wish we could keep doing this.
Groovy: Is it time for our performance? All right, I'll give it everything I've got!
Set to Home: Shall we go practice?
Home Transition 1: I look so fire, right?! These clothes look so good! Though it's a little uncomfy, since it's not my usual style and all. I just gotta get used to it.
Home Transition 2: I won't lie, I'm… not so good at dancing. And my singing is kinda mid. Agh, I gotta practice more… Thank goodness Kalim is such a good leader! He's so understanding.
Home Transition 3: *sigh* I don't know if I'm cut out for all this. It sure drains someone's energy… But no way am I gonna drag down my group! I want us to win, after all!
Home Transition/Login: Hmhmhm~ Hmm~ Oh! Uhh… You heard nothing, all right?! Don't share that melody with anyone, please! It's supposed to be our group's song for the competition!
Home Transition/Groovy: Do you think I got better after all our practices? I sure don't feel as bad as before. Maybe I could become an idol one day… Haha, just kidding. No way.
Tap Home 1: This group is so cutesy. I like it a lot, but sometimes I get worried I don't really fit… Ah, what am I talking about? Idia and Sebek are here too, and they probably fit the concept less than I do.
Tap Home 2: I can't imagine Allen handling this entire event. But have you seen him while he's with his group? He's amazing! It makes sense he's supervising basically the whole thing, ‘cause he's 100% qualified!
Tap Home 3: Too bad the group doesn't use instruments. Maybe I could've shown off my crazy piano skills. Haha, I'm kidding! My skills aren't that good, trust me.
Tap Home 4: Have you seen Azul anywhere? He said he wanted to meet up after our individual practices with our groups so we can— Uh, ahem, you know what? Never mind. I'll go look for him myself.
Tap Home/Groovy: Performing like this is a lot harder than I thought. You have to be conscious of everything, from your expressions to your movements to your voice. Music artists, especially idols, must've had really rigorous training to get to where they are now…
Tap Home 5: Hmm, I wonder who came up with the group's name? PASTEL BXMB! does seem very fitting, but it also reminds me of bath bombs… Wait, why am I talking about this? I don't even understand bath bombs.
Taruchi's SR card w/o all the text stuff:
Little rambles: I was initially just gonna make her mic sparkly, I've known that since the beginning, but. Idk there's something about me and glitters that makes it spread everywhere OAKSKDJSD also when I showed this to my sister, when she saw the stickers, she literally went "CUTIE MARKS??? SHE'S A PONY???" like girl 🧍♀️
Credits: The event is Music Weeks at NRC! by @/raguiras, who also owns Allen who's mentioned in one of the voice lines. The dividers were made by @/firefly-graphics

the song feelings are fatal is def a keefe song
you are so 100% right this song fits Keefe so well
I mean right off the bat we're hit with "I'd do anything for you, for you / It's always for you and never for me" which really encompasses Keefe's self-sacrificial nature. He truly doesn't think he's worth the effort, that he's worth anything (he has awful self-esteem), so he gives everything he has of himself to others. It was even a main factor in why he ran away at the end of Unlocked. That wasn't for himself, not primarily; that was to protect everyone else (and mainly Sophie) because he thinks he's too dangerous and that he'll be of most use by not being there. He didn't want to leave, but thought it was necessary for everyone else.
This has been a pattern for the entire series! He stayed an extra day to let everyone plan a trip into Ravagog in Neverseen for Sophie, not because it was what was best for him. He went immediately to ask Sophie how she was doing when Forkle's twin thing was revealed, and we never actually saw how he reacted to the situation. This line does seem to specifically fit Keefe's relationship with Sophie, but that's just the one I have the most canon evidence of; I'm sure he's like this with other people as well.
There's also the line saying, "But opening up means trusting others / And that's just too much, I don't want to bother." Which reminds me of a really specific scene in...Flashback? Don't quote me on which book it was, but that's not the point. In the scene, Fitz asks Keefe why he never told him what his home life was like, why he didn't open up to him. And Keefe says that he didn't want to deal with how people would react and how that would make it real (heavily paraphrased). Keefe has been resistant to opening up his whole life, not wanting to trust others or burden them with information about what he's going through. It's too much to let them in, to let them know him and he doesn't want to go through with that.
He wants to ignore it, to "keep it inside and[...]bury it deep." Remember how he used to pretend to be a Vacker? He'd bury his family life and his worries as far back as he could, and he'd put on a happy face and go out in the world and not bother telling anyone what was happening to him. And that stuck with him and he's super private about a lot of things, though with so much involving him and his family now a lot of that security has been forced down for the sake of information (e.g. Sophie and Fitz searching his memories ot learn things about Gisela's plan)
Of course how could we not mention the line the song is named for: "And I want to be able to open up, but / My feelings are fatal." I think there is a part of him that wants to be like his friends, to be able to love and trust as openly as they do with each other. He wants Sophie to trust him and to be able to reciprocate, but right now it's...too much. Allowing that level of openness taps into this part of himself that he has shoved really deep down, and letting it all come to the surface, he doesn't know how to process that. It would be too overwhelming and he wouldn't know what to do with all the feelings and with the openness and vulnerability.
I think he's also spent so much time reading other people's feelings and knowing their emotions that he's struggling with his own. He's not numb like Vespera, but he's ignoring them. Facing them feels daunting and terrifying and insurmountable, like it'll kill him if he tries but there's no way around, just through.
he doesn't know what to do, what he wants, how to get it. He's very lost and all he has to guide him are what he feels is right, and it's very easy to be misguided.
You're very right, this 100% feels like Keefe. And that's just four of the lines that I pointed out so far! I could do the whole song given how accurate it feels to his character, so thank you for the recommendation!
Keefe needs to be held. I legitimately think a tight hug would monumentally change his outlook and the path he's on.
#like a genuine display of committed affection and care for him would have such an impact#if you think about it he's completely alone#it's just him#so someone making that show of commitment#that'd be a big deal#kotlc#kotlc character analysis#kotlc song analysis#keefe sencen#quil's queries#slozhnos

Lmao I am also in the well informed but critical taylor swift club and I definitely see ur points. I don’t agree with all of them but like, objectively, ur right
thank you!!!! there need to be more of us i'm sick of swifties who will eat anything up it's so frustrating like if you unironically like midnights (or even ironically. honestly) you are actively supporting an artist going absolutely nowhere with her career. truthfully she peaked at 1989 and will forever be chasing that high imo . folklore was different enough that it stood alone. & i have a whole fucking page of evermore takes that i will post below the cut
evermore take (in track order) the best songs are tis the damn season, cowboy like me, and tolerate it.
willow was a stupid single, it’s actively boring bad pop music, doesn’t live up to even the weaker songs on folklore (i’m looking at you mad woman) and it really only serves to prove that she is TERRIBLE at choosing which songs should be singles/get mvs (lwymmd, blank space, and ootw excluded) like she chose me and yntcd on lover for fuck’s sake. so yeah. willow is bad. champagne problems is good, it really exemplifies her strengths in storytelling and should be recognized for that, but in terms of staying power i don’t think it holds out. it’s a good story, but the melody gets old kinda quickly (though the bridge is one of the best she’s ever written, honestly). gold rush sucks. another average pop song with a shitty beat, overproduced and doesn’t fit the vibe of the album at all (same with long story short but we’ll get to that.) tis the damn season is absolutely crazy good. with an interesting time signature and fantastic lyricism it is absolutely one of her best songs, it’s my favorite of hers atm. this one doesn’t get old for me, in fact it’s grown on me the more i listen to it. i think it brings out all of her strengths. tolerate it is great as well, though for different reasons. slower and more held back, tolerate it is subtle but it creeps up on you! i think again, it’s a great story. evermore has good stories, but a lot of them could be scrapped! tolerate it is NOT one of those tracks. no body no crime is a pretty fun take on something like the chicks’ “goodbye earl” though it’s a little more somber, i think it’s good but not that good. also disappointing that she restricted her features to backing vocals. but she always does so what’s new. happiness sucks. weak lyricism, too slow. dorothea is so pretty, it’s a pretty song if that makes sense. it’s light and airy and she uses a lower register at times which is refreshing! she went there a little bit on folklore as well. dorothea, which i’m almost 100% sure is the other pov of tis the damn season, is pretty good! however...i wouldn’t die on the dorothea hill if someone told me they didn’t like it. i think it’s fine. coney island is good....ish....i really only like it because of the theory that in the lyrics the order of the rerercords is hidden because i think that’s silly. “we were like the mall before the internet” is such a fucked up and terrible line i can’t stress enough that it ruins the song for me. pass! wouldn’t miss it. ivy is ok. i liked it a lot when the album first came out but honestly it doesn’t stand up to the better songs on the album (like ttds) at all. it’s an ok story but in comparison to the better tracks it is nothing to me. cowboy like me is one of the single best songs she’s ever written. this is a fact. the lyricism, the storytelling, the vocal performance, the smooth fucking key change and the beautiful verse, cowboy like me is a feat in her career. long story short sucks the end. it’s corny. marjorie is corny (”never be so __ that you forget to be ___” is stupid) but i love that she utilized her grandmother’s vocals in the background, i think it adds depth to the song, and the verses are generally good! but again...i wouldn’t miss it. closure sucks...it’s not the vibe. stop. evermore, the song, i think is quite good...slow but well paced i think its a great way to close an album.
SORRY.

i feel controversial & i care too much, so here's my des rocs complete tierlist
ranked list & reasoning (ish) under the cut
1. WAYNE: hoholy shit wayne. can hardly put into words how explosive this one is to me. the intro sets a Whole Mood before swiftly (& cleanly) smacking it down into an Absolute Banger and i don't use the term lightly. very hard not to scream along with it. only detriment is that wayne the person is kinda an ass in the mmc video but that's no qualm
2. POS: basically the same thing as wayne (oh both have great lyrics btw, this one more so), only gets points knocked for being 2 minutes long and having 30 seconds of that being intro & outro. go danny give us nothing
3. WHY WHY WHY: there's a theme among my top picks--they're all hard-hitting w/ killer guitar. the lyrics are absolute batshit in a good way, but the chorus is a lil flat & i feel like in general it just needed a touch more spice to score the top spot. or maybe it's just seniority & it'll have a coup a few months out idk
4. DEAD RINGER: similar killer guitar & lyrics but this one is Groovy as Hell. don't particularly like his singing in this one & it's too repetitive if i'm feeling grumpy but there's something so magic about after the bridge. top 10 songs to twirl a flag to
5. NOTHING PERSONAL: the minute long outro irks me & it's a little bit empty but plays into that well. groovy, great lyrics, the Sexiest Guitar Solo of the lot, the screaming's a minus but it does have an emotion there. not entirely sure what one but it's there.
6. LET ME LIVE / LET ME DIE: his first time being all over the goddamn place, history was made. amazing guitar, a little worse lyrics than 1-4 i'll admit, the intro Slays me both in a good and bad way. must be a joy to play live where he can just drag out that intro & bridge as long as feels right. at least i liked it in the digital concert like that. would actually kill me in a physical concert, imagine how much stomping gets going to that beat. bonus points for presumable cowbell
7. PIECES: for once not this high for the guitar & lyrics, they're both kinda basic. idk what's about this one but it just takes me to a separate dimension & i love it so much for that. really fills those earholes. also a bit of personal meaning, heard it for the first time on the day we moved into the house i'm currently split-custody-living in (is that tmi?) & the first music video of his i saw. man i love some spaghetti on the wall
8. SLO: basically the same as dead ringer, but knocked points for a kinda lame outro & the subject matter being a little less interesting to me. still lovely.
9. HANGING BY A THREAD: not my normal fare really & the way that the ends of the verses don't really fit in the pacing of them is bleh, but it's just so reminiscent of the songs my brother puts on whenever we hang out together that it just makes me all warm & fuzzy. it's also nicely put together which is something i'll have to start saying for. the later list.
10. SUICIDE ROMANTICS: this is where i start griping about head voice & higher pitches in general. don't like em so the pre-chorus is a lil annoying. also not my normal fare but it's tender & the ending is awe-striking. imo better live where he's loud on that last line before the final chorus. not enough to bump it up though. shoutouts to love and a smoking gun, i still am dying to hear that one
11. THE PAST HAS PASSED AWAY: my favorite lyrics out of the first 2 ep's. only thing wrong with it really is the bridge getting kinda repetitive. love that last chorus heehoo. same schpeel as the Banger Category
12. MMC: this one's lower than the rest of the Bangers for being pop punk which is something the radio has made me dislike, i guess. that trope with the guitar in the second half of the chorus just kills me so much. improves greatly during & after the bridge, love that lil ragtime piano. generally the same bit as before but i do love him doing something un-romance-related. yeah fuck the establishment!
13. THE DEVIL INSIDE: reminds me A Lot of the electronic-ish cassettes i've got from the early 90's but that's just me. this one will probably move up as i get more used to it, but only a little bit. the first part of the second verse makes me like. genuinely uncomfy? but the second part of it's fantastic. ending's ass though what happened to the instrumence. bonus points for using 'reverie' that's an SAT word (maybe). good singing but returning to the gripe at higher pitches, just a little bit though
14. THIS IS OUR LIFE: feels shockingly generic for a des rocs song tbh but there's nothing really wrong with that. adore the bridge. singing's alright. kinda miffed that he doesn't pronounce the 'f' in the second 'life' in the chorus, but it makes sense here. that sort of thing won't later so i'm bringing it up now. guitar's nothing spectacular but fits nicely into the song, probably one of the most cohesive of his (especially in recent history).
15. OUTTA MY MIND: really lives in the same space as slo and dead ringer do in my head (most likely the 'songs to twirl a flag to' zone), but this is by far the worst of the three for when i'm grumpy. just. Very repetitive. back to great lyrics here but it's kinda hard to pick them out (i've heard the song at least 100 times by now & i'm still missing a few lines). still groovin'
16. RUBY WITH THE SHARPEST LIES: what the fuck actually goes on in this song by the way? not the premise or whatever it's just. so all over the place. the verses are incredible but bringing in another vocalist just for one line kills me. bridge is really cool but that one part i don't remember where it is, the one that alternates basically nothing & an Electronic Piano Chord blaring at ya? ruins it. partially anyhow. also can someone tell the people on genius that it's 'carved it in my skin' not 'crawled down in my skin'
17. GIVE ME THE NIGHT: same repetitive issue as outta my mind but it's not groovy enough to save it, shame. feels like a trial run of all the wackshit stuff he's been doing recently, with the additional vocal bits at the end & the kinda weird lyrics. it still has a place in my heart don't get me wrong but it's just fallen in favor of stuff that Commits to banger or batshit (or actually pulls off both strongly, yyy). oh yeah nice guitar alright singing etc etc
18. USED TO THE DARKNESS: similar story to give me the night. i love it i do, but it's just lackluster nowadays. also remember that under-pronunciation thing i brought up in this is our life? this is where that comes back. rampant i tell you! that second verse he just doesn't finish the words & i hate it!
19. DON'T HURT ME: i honestly don't know why this one isn't in D. the chorus bit where he just cuts it short is irksome. the lyrics aren't anything special. i don't know what i like about it. but i can tell it does exactly what it set out to do if that makes sense. respect, respect. and using missile in an analogy, he's getting creative with the vocab
20. LIVING PROOF: kinda got a vendetta against this one i think? i don't know why i hate this one but i do. it's just kinda, blah. like the perfect sort of thing to nightcore up. sentiment's lovely & i do love the lyrics even if they aren't impressive but like. it bores me to an extent
21. TICK (LIVE): separating the version i heard in the digital concert just to give it some credit, this one was actually kinda nice. another one with a nice sentiment & what he was going for is great. no clue what the second part of the second verse has to do with any of this though. and it also begins our final group, the songs that just feel empty. like there's not nearly enough going on. this one's alright though i was just hoping the studio version would add some flair. you can see where that one is though.
22. IMAGINARY FRIENDS: also got a vendetta against pop. kinda hate the sentiment here (contrast!), the chorus just falls short of what the verses prime me for, head voice is rampant, and yet i still swing along to it. it's infectious props to him. love the outro though, monkey laugh and all.
23. MAYBE, I: another empty one, like it's a four-note progression what is that. love his singing in it, and the chorus parts do round it out, but like. eh? it doesn't even give me much to say.
24. BORN TO LOSE: another flop on the chorus! too smooth i say! and i absolutely Despise the pitch-shifting thing going on. not something i was expecting him to express so points there, lyrics are nothing fancy to my Literary Mind though. initially good singing but the chorus he's just sloppy over it. the instrumental is lovely but the vocals just throw it so hard into the bin which is a right shame. fuck that outro too i hate that gimmick
25. I KNOW: here's where the bad batshit comes in. singing is some of his worst imo, does the other-vocalist thing for that bridge, genre i'm not fond of, just a soup of Stuff I Don't Like. not one i'd kill someone over putting as #1 like i can see where it comes from but. mmmmmhhhh bad. cover does NOT help his case.
26. HVY MTL DRMR: empirically i should put this one higher. but the chorus flops so goddamn hard it deserves to be in the bottom of the barrel. the verses are lovely for what he was doing back then! but then just... nothing!
27. RABBIT HOLE: i was so excited for this name but it's just sad boi hours playlist curated by some corporation you hate. probably the most nothing of them all, genuinely where are the instruments. what happened. was this one just shoehorned in as the final track just to pump numbers up. and i swear he had some autotune or something which only makes his voice worse it's fantastic naturally. also that's not what a rabbit hole is! that's not the idiom! a rabbit hole is when you go on a wikipedia spiral from jennifer lopez to group theory! not when you just have a shitty night's sleep or whatever this is! i'm not just miffed i'm downright annoyed
28. TICK (STUDIO): what the fuck happened des. how did you release this. it sounds like a 3rd grader singing for the school talent show it's so out of rhythm. singing's honestly kinda bad & the instrumental has the same problems i talked about in the live version. the last chorus is fine, i guess, but no i don't forgive him for what he did to tick.
#des rocs#yeah i forgot tphpa on the first pass. it's always at least one#i guess i'm pessimistic on the new album? or i just don't like his new direction? idk i just finished it like. today.#wasn't expecting to be able to rank the songs of my Favorite Musician & be happy with it but here we are#tell me why i'm wrong in the notes <3

So I thought it would be fun to do a song-by-song breakdown of our latest album Essential.
Essential started as some rough demos designated for a side project in late 2019, which then became our largest album to date in terms of song selection. Many of the themes deal with learning to cope with the changing world thanks to Covid, with a perspective of someone who had to keep working at an "essential" job with no option of self-quarantine. I was happy to continue working and being able to pay my bills over the past year, but there was always elements of stress, fear, and tension lingering over myself and everyone else in my position.
So here we go; starting from the top let's look at the Songs of Tuesday X's 6th album Essential.
1. Jet Fuel Can't Melt Steel Beams: the title was a reference to the 9/11 conspiracy memes, which as stated in the opening lines, "has nothing to do with this song." Written in January of 2020 before Covid had made any significant impact in the US, the song touches on many themes which happened to occur throughout the year, such as [another] Californian forest fire (Australia too), new diseases (Covid), a riot (the BLM movement over the summer, which I will state everything that movement has been fighting for is 100% justified and the United States is in desperate need of Police reform, as does our political system which has remained inherently racist to this day.), Civil War (and exaggeration for sure, but the civil unrest and political division in our country will soon split us apart further), more corporate giants(companies like Amazon profited more from this Pandemic than ever before and have helped further the gap between the American working class and the top 1%). Favorite line: "I won't get philosophical, I only wanted your attention."
2. The Only Difference Between You and Me is a Sense of Apathy and Your Brand New Nikes: This song is a blithing criticism of the American political system. Our two party system has left Americans with a choice between "the lesser of two evils" and allows politicians with no true interest in our needs to rise to power. The use of 3rd parties as an alternative is a overly simple compromise that would only just begin to alleviate the problems created in our political system. Both of our main parties are considered conservative parties to the rest of the world, and any progressive measures that would benefit society and reduce the effects of climate change are considered radical and preposterous by politicians with financial stakes in our crooked system where corporatations hold control and the people are treated as fuel for an otherwise worthless currency. Favorite line: "Listen to the radio, they played my favorite song. Now I'm bored and wanting more."
3. Blame it on the Elves: the title is a reference to an episode of the Podcast "Lore" by Aaron Menke (i can't recall which episode, but you should check it out anyway because it's great listen.) An instrumental interlude inspired by ragtime music of the 1920-30's, with an edge of course.
4. Class of Dropouts: This song was written when I was 16 during my sophomore year of high school and was originally featured on my now unavailable album "trees" before adopting the Tuesday X monicker. I brought it back 6 years later because I loved how raw and punk it was. The lyrics are dorky but I decided to leave them as is, it's a cool track for high school stoners to blare and let out their teen angst. Favorite line: "Walking in on my friends fucking."
5. Polaroids on My Bulletin Board: This is a song about growing up. As a 22 year old (now 23) who decided not to go to college straight out of high school, I felt isolated from my peers in a way. By going into the workfield right away I sometimes feel like I skipped a few years and missed out on a lot of opportunities. I regret not leaving my hometown sooner than I did and chasing my dreams of being a touring musician in a band. More often than not I reminisce of my youth playing shows and getting into trouble, as I now feel old and out of place in a scene I grew up in. Favorite line: "I know what it's like to be alive, I know what it's like to live a lie."
6. Labradoodle Underpass: Going back on the theme of growing up, this is about my recent experience with shows as an adult. When I was a teenager I felt ambitious and ready for anything, and I would drop literally everything to go to the nearest show. As an adult I feel introverted and constantly anxious about the world around me. I've missed out on a lot of great shows due to my own self doubt's and anxiety. Now that shows have been canceled for over a year I feel even more regret by not appreciating them more while I could. Favorite line: "23 years and a lingering fear that anything could happen, why am I here?"
7. Some Shit: This was me trying to be modest mouse lol jangly guitars and half talking/half singing vocals describing the world around me. I guess in a way it was an exercise in writing character description and setting, but otherwise it's just a chill track that almost feels aimless at parts. Favorite Line: "it's just some shit I learned from a friend. Just some shit I learned when I was trying to prepare."
8: Woe is the World: On the album this is a chorus snippet that barely a minute long (the full version is available as a bonus track on bandcamp, and it was actually a demo that turned out better than the final version.) I originally wrote this song when I was 15 with a different set of lyrics, but I came back to it while writing this album and re-wrote it to reflect my mental state and the world around me. Overall, just another melancholy track in a sea of melancholy songs. Favorite line: "you've never felt more alone than you do now, was everything worth it in the end?"
9. Then Why Was it Named Gideon?: the title is a reference to a line in Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour (my favorite series) and like the first track on this album doesn't have much to do with the song. "Gideon" is a simple love song, talking again about how growing up sucks but having the right person by your side can make all the shitty times worth it in the end. Favorite line: "it's time to move on, you're taking too long."
10. I am Here, I'm Looking at Her, and She is Beautiful: This song is entirely about the book "Perks of Being a Wallflower". That's it. Nothing else, let's move on. Favorite line: "Over Christmas I read them a poem about a brown paper bag and the boy who wrote it."
11. Try to Be a Filter, Not a Sponge: Like the previous song, this one is also mostly about "Perks of Being a Wallflower", but with elements of my own experience with toxic relationships. I like to think of it as the character Charlie's experience with Mary Elizabeth overall though. Favorite line: "She called my favorite book washed out trash, said I have no taste and I'm still too sad."
12. Lavender Spray Bottle: This instrumental dates back to 2017. I recorded the guitar part as a demo on my phone and forgot about it. Over time I forgot how to play the guitar part, so I used the demo as a basis and layered everything else on top of it. The title is a reference to a bottle of water with lavender essential oils mixed in that my ex used to fend away spiders in the house we lived in at the time.
13. Hindsight is 2020: I will admit, this is my favorite song on the whole album and was actually the last to be written and recorded. With a simple guitar part and layers of vocals, this song is a direct reflection of life during the peak of the pandemic. With curfews in place and rising case counts, I had to learn to cope with life at home during my late nights away from work. My partner was quarantined during this time and I reflected on the mental strain this put on her. Favorite line: "Don't go to work, you need the money but you're not happy when you're there. Sometimes life is so unfair."
14. I Don't Know How to Deal With Serious Emotions Without Turning Them into a Fucking Joke: the title came from a meme I found on my phone from high school. The song itself was about my own inability to handle serious emotions without coming off as sarcastic. In both the music and lyrics, the song starts as a simple confession before exploding into raw chaos. Favorite line: "it's so hard. I'm so scared, what have I become?"
15. Say Hello to My Little Friend: the last instrumental on this album. A short haunting tune that reflects the final two tracks. The title is probably a reference to Rambo or something, but I never watched it and I thought it fit the feeling of this song.
16. Minneapolis: What became one of the most emotional tracks on this song actually began as a joke. My partner was snap chatting a friend one night and they asked me to write them a song on the spot. So I improvised the first two verses and chorus of this song, referencing her going to school there at the time. I found I actually liked what I had written however, so I refined the track and changed it from a sassy country song into a melancholic lament of my experience in the twin cities and southern Minnesota. Favorite line: "I miss Camp Snoopy, and Paul Bunyon's log flume ride that went around the whole damn mall."
17. Before the Sunrise: the final song on the album is an intimate look at my relationship with my partner. Through past experiences i have become riddled with self doubt and always looking at improving myself as a person. With hopes that one day I'll be the person I'd like to be for mine and their sake, it's an optimistic tribute to my best friend. Favorite line: "the cycle ends until the sun rises again, you're my best friend."
Thank you all so much! Check out Essential and our other music on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple, and other places! I hope you all enjoyed this personal look at these songs that got me through the worst parts of 2020.

I've been tagged by @lordbelacqua (thank you Dea! <3) to talk about Backlead aka: that one Masriel fic I wrote where I got massively carried away...
Rambling/essay under the cut - fair warning, it's a long one!
Okay so first of all just a little disclaimer that Backlead did not follow my usual writing process - the idea was 110% borne out of self-indulgence and it was also both my first foray into HDM fanfic and my return to fanfic as a whole after a long hiatus from writing, so for me this was really a chance to just get back into the swing of things. Everything from Heavenly Guard through to Swansong and all of my current WIPs follow a more structured process and I'm happy to discuss any of them in a separate post!
PLANNING: I tend to find with my fics that I either have a nice little timeline of events planned out pre-writing or I have a very specific event in my head and I just take that and see how things unravel from there and Backlead was 100% the latter.
All I had in my head initially was the ballroom dance scene and so a lot of my admittedly-minimal planning was around the technicalities of that particular section, as well as some of the more general details e.g Marisa's outfit, the setting of the ball, etc. Planning the dance was the most fun part because it was a chance for me to put a lot of my dance knowledge to good use and think up something that fits the back-and-forth way in which Marisa and Asriel frequently navigate their encounters. In a way though I'm actually very glad that a lot of this fic Just Happened instead of being planned out, sometimes it's nice to just run away with an idea!
MUSIC: This gets its own section because this is one of the most important things in my process. Every single fic I write is written to various pieces of music that just help me to put myself in the right headspace for whatever I'm writing at the time - sometimes its just a single piece of music (I wrote Swansong in one hour with just one track from the Unforgotten - a TV show in the UK for those of you not familiar with it - soundtrack on repeat) and sometimes its entire playlists. I do love geeking out about my music choices for fic writing so happy to talk more in a separate post about music for some of my other fics if anyone's curious!
For Backlead I found a couple of playlist-vids from the lovely raviolae on youtube that really worked wonders for my writing. This comes with a disclaimer that I did not necessarily attribute any of these specific songs to either dance scene and I wanted to leave that open for people's imagination - but it's still brilliant vibes for thinking about two once-lovers-now-enemies trying to one-up each other whilst ignoring how much they still find each other attractive.
The two playlist-vids in question are here: you're stuck on the dance floor with your rival and find out they're an annoyingly good dancer and you're dancing with your rival and both of you want to lead
WRITING: First step every time is to figure out who's POV I'm going to cover because that makes a major difference in the way I'm going to write. Characterisation is the big thing for me and there's nothing I love more than to really get inside a character's head and basically think like them, and figure out what makes them tick and how they'll react to the story I'm putting them in. With my initial idea for Backlead being basically about the subtle power dynamics of a ballroom dance, Marisa felt like the natural go-to for this one and I found it much easier in this instance to write in her headspace than in Asriel's.
I wrote this fic in a very out-of-order fashion. The first dance (the slower, waltz-style dance) was the first part I finished, then I did as hinted at above get very carried away and move onto the section in the hallway, then I went right to the start and covered the entire section leading up to that first dance. Then I revisited the hallway scene because I wanted to rework it (the initial version was planned to be more explicit and involved less dialogue - but I wasn't comfortable with writing out the former at that time and the latter got changed by way of me having a sudden burst of dialogue-themed inspiration). The second, more set piece style dance came last in terms of the 'major events' that I wrote purely because I spent a lot of time racking with my dance knowledge to try and make it work in a way that didn't feel forced.
My final major writing stage is to write the 'transitions' between each major part - small pieces where nothing particularly noteworthy happens but it helps the fic to flow from one conversation/event to the next and also sometimes allows me to sneak in a bit of characterisation that I couldn't fit in elsewhere.
Along the way I often leave sentences half-finished with a bracket indicator so I know to go back to it later or I make little notes if I've added something in that needs explaining earlier in the fic, and I make sure to sort those parts out before I jump to the self review/beta reader stage. A couple of examples are below:
Although sometimes this method does also annoy future me too 😂:
SELF REVIEW/BETA REVIEW: Whenever I finish a fic, it gets put away for a day or two and I stop thinking about it completely - if I'm using a beta reader (usually @thatlavanderbard but I sometimes enlist help from friends on discord), I'll send them a copy of my draft at this point so they can start going through and leaving comments for me to work on, but the idea is that when I go back to my work a few days later I'm looking at it with semi-fresh eyes and can properly sift through each sentence to make sure things make sense.
When I'm self-reviewing I generally tend to follow this order of operations: spelling/grammar check (via docs') -> flow check (making sure any deliberate time skips/POV changes/etc in my fic flow smoothly from one part to the next) -> address beta reader comments (because they almost always pick up on things I myself would've picked up on anyway) -> general detailed final read through to make sure I'm happy with every single line and it all makes sense.
Backlead didn't get a full beta read because I had hit a point with it where I just wanted it up ASAP and my impatience got the better of me, but the rest of the above self-review stages still happened and I still spent a fair few evenings going through it properly and also running the occasional sentence or two by some helpful discord friends if I didn't like the way it flowed but couldn't quite figure out how to remedy it!
POSTING: First step was to reset my AO3 password because I forgot it yet again whoops
On a more serious note this part is pretty straightforward - once I'm ready to post a new fic I generally just go on autopilot for this part of the process (other than when I get to 'additional tags' and immediately get brain freeze...). As soon as it's up on AO3 I swing by here to make a post about it, then swing by discord to drop the link to friends who may be interested in reading it and then I normally nervously scuttle away from my notifications for a while out of fear that people hate it lmao.
That last part was especially true for Backlead because of it being my first trip into HDM fanfic and I always get extra nervous when posting my first fanfic for a new show/game/etc. Thankfully I got quite a few nice comments both on here and on discord that provided good motivation to stick around and post a few more things!
I always panic when asked to tag people lmao but I'll tag @fortheloveofwii for any part of the Onward, Onward series, @lyracordelia for any chapter in Hiraeth or the fic as a whole, and @glassrunner for this absolutely gorgeous gifset of beautiful game soundtracks. Please don't feel like you have to do this if you don't want to though!
#stel talks#showyourprocess#y'all thought i rambled in my fics just look at me rambling here#i'm hoping this makes sense!#it was nice to dive into how my brain works when i try to write things#my writing

First Reactions To Logan’s Playlist
K first song let’s do this

WHO HURT LOGAN WITH THEIR WORDS
LOGAN THE HEART SKIPPING COMMENT ARE YOU OKAY IM GIVING YOU A HUG
GUYS LOGAN IS TRYING TO CONVINCE HIMSELF THAT HE MATTERS IM NOT OKAY
Last???? Relationship???
Okay I'm not a shipper BUT my theorist analysis obsessed brain is just SCREAMING about Roman and Patton
Observation: Logan is probably atheistic and this song covers God a lot. I don't have a conclusion or anything just pointing that out
This woman do be calming tho like yes I'm beautiful yes I'm special thank you
Okay so I already knew Logan wasn't okay but he 100% isn't okay

"WILL NOT CRY IN PUBLIC" NONONONO
So I heard of a good therapist just downtown-
The Watchtower-The Dø
I paused it cause I need a second after the last one
Guys as someone who dissosiates a lot I think Logan might be dissosiating
Dissosiating to protect himself from his emotions
Y'all just trust me in this one
Coming for the TØP brand I see
K ready to start again here we go
Fire beat I'm vibing with it
Is he trying to distance himself from his emotions to try and perform his tasks better like watching from a Watchtower???
This is the first character I've seen that might dissosiate which only means one thing
I'm gonna be projecting an unholy amount in my fanfiction

Logan I've done this before and trust me it isn't worth it the mental breakdowns are too taxing
I'll do it when I'm older=I'm never gonna get around to it
I don't wanna be the person I wanna be either
Why do I perfectly understand every lyric am I ok
Live!!! While you!!!! Can!!!!
At least there's a happy ending
Okay so I've decided that once I'm done I'm gonna make a list of songs I think would fit in the playlist
Algorythym-Childish Gambino
K its spelled incorrectly get ready for some metaphors my dudes
Intro is cool definitely very very Logan WOAH OKAY CHAIN SMOKER
Gonna go look up lyrics I don't understand shit
The chorus sounds like Thanksgiving at my Aunt's house where like 100+ African American relatives blast house music and dance until their feet falls off
Nvm no it doesn't
GO OFF
ELPHABA BETTER WATCH OUT CHILDISH GAMBINO IS COMING FOR YOUR BELT
Adlibs are everything
Letter C-Zach Sherwin
This gives off the same vibes as that one pickle video by Charlie Puth
Roman vs Logan rap battle but it's this
I don't really see why this is related but sure
Time Adventure-The Marcus Hedgehog
Nostalgiaaaaaa
Okay Logan has too many songs talking about one (1) person who is it
I have a gut feeling that it's about Thomas and how Logan used to be enough "back then" but now he thinks he's not cause like let's be honest when was the last time someone gave Logan a strong sincere thank you for all that he does????Excluding DWIT (which doesn't really count in my opinion cause they said he was cool, not like an integral and arguably the most important and powerful side) nobody really appreciates Logan???? Hugs???
Anyway plz ignore this is just how my brain works
K next song
The Breach-clipping.
OKAY SLOW DOWN IM GONNA LOOK UP LYRICS
Is this Daveed Diggs???? I haven't listened to Hamilton in like forever is this Daveed Diggs???
LITERALLY PERFECY PARRALLEL TO LOGAN AND THE SIDES
Sound effects
Really just gonna fry my eardrums like that huh
What I Do For U-Ra Ra Riot
Okay scrap anything and everything I said about it being the sides Logan is 100% talking about Character!Thomas
Erase Me-Ben Folds Five
Ooh this intro reminds me of this one particular musical songs but I don't remember which one
Wait have I listened to this before????
I've listened to this before!
Okay I need to stop being distracted
NOOOOOO don't Erase Yourself!!!!
Logan really just do be having no Self Esteem don't he
Okay so theory: Logan didn't pop up in person in the last video because his eyes were too red from crying
I have 0 evidence so it's not a very good theory but…
Just throwing it out there
One More Time with Feeling-Regina Spektor
Oh no it's Regina Spektor
Oh no I'm gonna cry
Okay so Logan doesnt wanna block of all emotion, only permit some to show???? But most of the time block everything????
Did I get that???
Nobody!!!! Thanks!!!! Logan!!!!
Awww he just wants love and recognition
Tbh this sounds a lot like Roman they have so much in common despite their constant arguing
Galaxy Song-Monty Python
Ooh Monty Python
I haven't listened to Monty Python so I sadly don't know the context
Really just dissing all of the other sides aren't we
Can't really blame him tho
Very scientific
"Yeau~"
Sweet with dark undertones. Love it.
Equation-Hans Zimmer
Later I'm gonna check the equations if they're correct XD
Sunrise-In The Heights
!!!!!!
WHO???!!!!!
K to this is one of my favorite love songs ever it's just so sweet and as someone who's bilingual the concept is just amazingly wonderful so yeah I may be freaking out
Also because WHO??!!
Okay I said I wasn't a shipper but let's be honest this is probably about Roman not romantically but like
OR MAYBE JANUS???
IM SO CONFUSED
But Logan is definitely Nina in this situation it just fits so well with her character for the same reasons I really wanna play her (but never will cause I'm exactly 0% Latin American smh) yeah the pressures to be the smartest and then it backfiring horribly and oh God what if Inùtil is also in the playlist ahhhh
Okay moving on
Lifeboat-Heathers
WHAT
NO
NO
CONFORMITY RELATED ANGST LOGAN STOP BEING RELATABLE AHHHH
IS THIS CAPTAIN THOMAS??? THE OTHER SIDES AS A WHOLE??? AN ABSTRACT CONCEPT???
IM NOT OKAY
Bohemian Groove-Will Connolly
Okay I'm still not recovered from the last song but I need to continue or else I'm never gonna finish this playlist
Eeecccchhhhhoooo
Your friends haven't surpassed you Logan you belong with them okay????
Emptiness despite success??? Millennial who???
Vibing with it but also are you okay
Nvm I know the answer already
Hug All Ur Friends-Cavetown
Okay so Logan is a Cavetown gay noted
Self validation??? Who's she???
Lies. You care so much about what other people *sides* think about you
Maybe Logan listens to this song to remind himself to not care too much
But it doesn't work and it's getting to him more and more

Anyway here's my list of songs I think would fit. (BTW, I only went off of lyrics for these ones. I realize that there’s a general sound and vibe for the playlist, but I decided not to follow it.)
