Guys. I don’t know how but I’m even BETTER looking now than I was last week. JOKES! My looks last week were at least equally good and I’m only posting this pic because a young person said the computer thing inside the instagram thing knows when it’s a face in the picture and is swayed to share this update more widely than if I just posted some other crap like, actual Art.

And speaking of Art, which I’m not sure I am, I know I’ve been a little quiet on the music front. I’ve spent more time hand-lathing hardwood, drafting neurotic text messages to parents who want to host my kids for play dates, and plotting my revenge on the absolute Nong upstairs who flooded my studio, than I have spent writing lately. And that’s ok.. I’m not super interested in forcing anything in life, especially song making.. even with my knack for finding a joyless way to do anything, I know enough to leave the guitar hanging on the wall until I’m able to write with enthusiasm. The truth though.. private struggles with grief and overwhelm tied my hands for a while, BUT for the last week I’ve started to feel things coming back to me, and, like the soothing mistral on the back of my neck the last time I stood near the crucifix at the far corner or Domaine Romanée Conti, bringing me back to my senses, back to myself. So here we go again.

I picked up the Phoney record again.. WOWee.. many hooks, great writing, and fun, nobody-gives-a-shit-if you-don’t vibes. I’m making something good here.

Also, i turned over the old cowrites folder like the dear old addict who broke into our share house in 1999 and had the gall to not steal anything of mine because they had taste, and I found some absolute JAGS. I’m shopping the shit outta those, because the world needs better songs right now. So you know, if you’re making a record, I have a song for you.

I also found the stems from a bunch of Head Gap sessions in Melbourne. Oh boy.. those Rankin harmonies, my brother wailing from the ShowBud, and that drummer I used to love. Enough songs to be only one song shy of an album.. because the studio double booked our last day with a not yet famous Courtney Barnett, and well, you know how that ended. You’re welcome everybody! Maybe I’ll release that stuff finally, along with some songs from the Ardent session in Memphis, as a collection of “rarities” to imply that these are cool and obscure treasures, because someone smarter than me said you should just be yourself and embrace who you are and who am I if not someone who has made many songs, completely in obscurity. But also, Jack Ashford plays on all those songs. Yeah, THAT Jack Ashford. I still can’t believe it.

And finally, I am playing a show. I don’t know why I said yes, but I did, and now i can’t back out of it. So I will share details as soon as I know them, forget them, and remember them at the start of the week of the show. I can’t remember how to play anything I have ever released because I literally “released” those songs, as in, set them free and never called them back into my mind, because I’m just like that. So if there is something you would like to hear me play, please advise, and I will have someone transcribe it so I can relearn it. Don’t worry, they will be just as good as they used to be.

GIRL SHARK FILMS SHARK FOLMS SKSJSHSHS okay so there are a few classics i haven’t watched yet, and also a few new ones that i haven’t seen yet BUT I LOVE SHARK FILMS SO MUCH SKSHSGSGSKK the first like proper shark film i ever watched was the shallows (which i like but my brain is still too small to comprehend what happened at the end (i mean i get it but i just can’t imagine it— idek if you’ve seen the film but skshhs)) and after watching it three times it does get a bit boring (but now whenever i see pictures or videos of big waves i’m just waiting for a shark to show up like come ON SKSJSG

I only watched jaws like a few months ago, and i get that it’s a classic and also that it’s old and they just didn’t have the best.. equipment or special effects or whatever but i mean... look at meg and then look at jaws.... no disrespect to jaws at ALL but the meg is so much cooler. Babie Crue (3/?)

A/N: This will be the second time I’m writing this because it accidentally got deleted when I went to add tags. I hope this one is more acceptable than the first draft, because guess who didn’t save the first draft.... ME!! I’m so sorry for not only leaving you guys waiting for the third part of this series, but also deleting it on accident. I FINALLY have a new laptop, so hopefully I’ll be able to update everything as soon as possible. Love ya!

Pairings: The Dirt! Motley Crue X OC, Eventual MGK! Tommy Lee X OC, Possible Douglas Booth! Nikki Sixx X OC

Warnings: Swearing, mentions of drug use, smoking, and alcohol. Wowee I’m so pissed at myself for deleting this.

Description: I don’ t remember exactly what happened, but Tommy somehow convinced Doc to let Cam join the Ozzy Osbourne/ Motley Crue tour.

“Hey, Doc! This is Cam! She’s a friend of mine from high school!” Tommy screamed over the music blaring through the small apartment.

“It’s lovely to meet you, Cam!” Doc responded holding his hand out for Cam to shake.

“I actually have a question regarding Cam, Doc. I was actually wondering if she and her daughter could join us on tour.” Tommy questioned, ignoring the looks people were throwing in his direction.

“You have a kid?!” Zutaut and Vince yelled, shocked at the revelation.

“Tommy are you serious, man? Look around you! This is not the proper world to bring up a baby in!” Mick yelled. Tommy waved everyone off, staring at Doc and waiting for his reaction. The drummer could see the gears in the manager’s head grinding as he thought.

“Tommy, Gracie and I are fine here. I have a steady job and your parents are angels. I agree with Mick on this,” Cam argued, suddenly feeling small under everyone’s scrutinous gaze.

“I’m sure Doc could give you a job. Hell, he could probably even pay you better than that shitty restaurant ever could! So, Doc, what do you say?” Tommy defended. The manager turned his attention to Cam, the 20 year old mother gnawing on her lip as her nerves began to get the best of her.

“So you work at a restaurant. How old is your daughter?” Doc asked.

“Grace is almost six months old, Doc.” Cam answered, a slight smile on her face as she thought about her daughter.

“She’s so great, Doc. As low maintenance as babies get, Gracie’s probably the lowest of the low. She’s the cutest little bundle. You’re going to love her, Doc,” Tommy gushed. Cam smiled and furrowed her eyebrows, looking at the other Motley Crue guys in confusion. Nikki and Mick beamed, genuinely surprised with the words coming out of Tommy’s mouth while Vince mimicked vomiting behind Doc’s back.

“I don’t know what I can offer you job wise, but I can very clearly see how much you and Grace mean to Tommy and the rest of the guys. So, pack up your clothes and every diaper you own because you’re coming on tour!” Tommy whooped and wrapped Cam in a hug, spinning the girl around as the other guys joined, a group hug ensuing.

Tour life was great so far. Having a baby around actually kept the band in check, much to the surprise of Doc and Tom. The raucous after parties halted past 2 am, Cam’s hotel rooms or bunks on the bus were put on lockdown, and late night booze runs had a few additions: diapers and formula.

In terms of parties, Mick was the most considerate when thinking of Grace. The guitarist would usually opt for a bottle or two of vodka, take his pain meds for his back problems, and then pass out in his room.

Tommy was a close second: the drummer would get buzzed enough to be annoying, add a few bumps of coke to keep his high going for a few hours, and he was done. He usually ended up passed out face down, ass up anywhere he lands when his buzz wears off. Cam found him after he broke his protocol one night, face planted in a pool of his own vomit. Trying not to puke herself, Cam got Tommy cleaned up and back on the bus all while he muttered about how sorry he was and if he woke up Grace at any point in the night.

Nikki and Vince, on the other hand, were intolerable when it came to the parties. There were nights where Vince kept the mother and daughter awake with the screaming coming from his room due to the countless groupies he fucked. Nikki sometimes roped Tommy and Vince into trashing the hotel floors that were rented out for the entire band, banging on walls and doors, screaming “wake up assholes!” as the entire hotel was awoken from their slumber.

There were other times where Nikki and Vince used Grace before and after the shows to rope in their chicks for the evening because according to Vince, “there’s nothing drunk chicks like more than a dude who can handle a baby”, to which Cam rolled her eyes and ripped the baby away from them.

The one thing Cam was cautious about was Ozzy fucking Osbourne. Motley Crue had their sober moments, especially around Grace, but Ozzy could never be sober even if his liver and kidneys depended on it. She knew that Ozzy had children of his own, but she didn’t know how exactly he acted around his children. Cameo always made sure that if Ozzy was around, she or a trusted member of Motley Crue always had an eye on the baby, especially when the older rockstar somehow snatched Grace away from whoever she was with.

Mick and Tommy bounced between watching Cam and Grace, because if at any point Ozzy’ s actions bothered Cam, they would swoop in and take Grace from the drunk singer, making up a bullshit excuse like she needed to be fed or changed. Cam knew she would be eternally grateful for the band and everything they had done for her and Grace, knowing 100% that there would be no way to ever repay them.

“Tommy! Get your ass back in this chair!” Ruby, the hair stylist, yelled at Tommy’s retreating back. “Can anyone go get him? Cameo? Mick?” Ruby turned her attention back to Vince as Cam stood and handed Grace and her bottle off to Mick, the vampiric man adapting his demeanor instantly.

Cam left the greenroom, heading in the direction she hoped Tommy had travelled down as well. As she ran down the hall, Tom greeted her.

“Hey, Zutaut! Have you seen Tommy? He ran out before Ruby could do his hair.” Cam ran a hand through her hair, trying to regulate her breathing as she waited for an answer.

“Yeah, actually. Keep going down the hall and head towards the stage. He said he wanted to ‘survey the crowd’. Hey, do you want to go do something with me later? I’m sure the guys wouldn’t mind watching Grace.” Cam rolled her eyes, holding her hand up to Tom’s mouth, ultimately shutting up the spineless record label rep.

“Zutaut, have you ever wondered why I call you buy your last name? Or why I never let you hold my daughter? It’s because I don’t fucking like you. So, kindly stay away from my daughter and I and do your fucking job!” With that, Cam turned and ran towards the stage, leaving Tom stunned in the hall.

Tommy was staring out from behind the curtain, the crowd growing anxious. Cam silently shuffled up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder, causing the drummer to jump.

“You good?” Cam asked, silently chuckling at Tommy’s reaction.

“Yeah. Fucking fantastic, Cam.” Tommy mumbled, brushing past her and sitting himself on a sound equipment trunk. Cam joined him and rubbed his back, trying to prevent a mental breakdown from happening.

“What’s wrong, Tommy? You’ve never acted like this before a show.”

“This isn’t just another gig at Whisky, Cam. This is a fucking stadium full of people! What if they hate us? What if we fuck up this show, which will ultimately fuck up our career, and end up breaking up the fucking band?” Tommy muttered, scratching the back of his neck and holding his head in his hands.

“Well, don’t fuck up,” Cam responded, trying to lighten the mood.

“I’m serious, Cameo! This isn’t a fucking joke!” Tommy whisper-yelled.

“So am I, Tommy! Look, this is what, your tenth show on this tour? Did you ever stop to consider that if Motley Crue was as shitty as you say, you wouldn’t still be here? Obviously you guys are doing something right, and you’re pretty amazing at it, so just give yourself a little break, okay? Now, come on back to the greenroom so Ruby can do your hair.” Cam stood and took Tommy’s hand, attempting to tug the man into a standing position. When the drummer didn’t move, Cam sighed and quickly sat down again.

“Cam, I’m not too sure I can do this.” Cam kissed Tommy’s shoulder and laid her head on it, quite a scandalous idea popping into her head.

“Hey Tommy? If you come back to the greenroom and patiently let Ruby finish your hair and makeup, I’ll flash you after the show.” With this promise, the drummer perked up and grabbed Cam’s hand, running back to the greenroom as quickly as he had run out of it.

“Before we end our show tonight, we’d like to try something new. A couple months ago, a gorgeous friend of Tommy’s popped up with a beautiful baby in her arms. She is now responsible for rounding us up when we get crazy and fucked up, so we would like to end this show with a special song dedicated to our friend Cameo and her daughter Grace!” Vince came to where Cam was standing backstage and dragged her out into public view, the unforgettable chords of Elton John’s “Your Song” beginning to play in the background.

Vince held her close as the band serenaded Cam, the mother a blubbering and sobbing mess. When the song ended, Cam hugged the singer, thanking him silently.

“Don’t thank me sweetheart; thank Tommy. It was his idea.” Nodding, Vince escorted the young mother backstage as roadies began to disassemble what remained of Motley Crue’s set. They all ran to the greenroom, the party beginning instantly.

“Thank you guys so much! It really meant a lot to me,” Cam whined happily, hugging each of them, spending a little extra time in her embrace with Tommy.

“You’re very welcome, sweets. Now, don’t forget about what you promised me earlier, Cameo.” Tommy whispered seductively in Cam’s ear, causing a shiver to roll down her spine. This was going to be a long night.

Music for Deaf People

Wowee, the second year of my university life has definitely been eventful. Pretty much every assignment this year has been horrendous and honestly quite draining, but of course, there is one obvious exception which has completely saved my motivation and willpower to complete this degree.

Subwoofers seemed like an attainable but daunting goal when we first heard about it; since Winterland 2016 (remember that fun-filled experience?), in the first year, we were prepared to fill the concourse at the uni again with fun and interesting rides and attractions to bring in people from all around Wycombe. So when our lectures told us the success of Winterland had prompted a local charity, with a 23 Acre grass field, to try putting on their own music festival, and that they wanted us to work with them to make this the biggest event they’ve done yet.

What?

Winterland wasn’t the stressful failure I thought it was? External parties wanted to use our event management skills with their resources to put on another event? woo-wee.

So I've spoken on this all before but we were put into the four main management teams: Logistics, production, Talent and marketing. I started in logistics but was moved to help liaise with the Talent team and the stage manager and was eventually fully inducted into the production team and for the last few weeks leading up to the event I had become the second stage manager and had to make sure that everything was going to run smoothly within that department. really a lot of the work for the second stage had already been done and I was simply making sure that people still had the right information, such as the most updated versions of the stage times and besides that, I was helping other productions members, in whatever way I could.

SUBWOOFERS 2018 was amazing, it was easily my favourite assignment of the year; there were so few problems on the day and the sun was absolutely beaming. The expected stress was about in the morning, as still, some jobs had to be done from the day before, signs were to go up, traders and a few rides were still to arrive. And a most recent addition, 300 deck chairs had to be unloaded in front of the stage. I managed to arrive 15 minutes late as I woke up at 6:59AM and missed the coach at 7 and had to leap into a taxi.

So upon arriving we were quickly given jobs based on what still needed most urgently doing, regardless of their roles in the teams, (i’ll get back to this later buts it’s important) and the rest of the set up was fairly quickly done, which was good as the attendees were starting to arrive and the site was soon to open. deck chairs got unloaded, Herace fencing went up, queue systems were built, and then re-built as sections of ped barrier were stolen to quarantine the main stage and front-of-house booth. The only photo I have of myself on site is me helping the logistics team leader trying to put those really dodgy signs together, you know, those ones that have been around since bucks live was conceived? Those things are in dire condition...

Being the second stage manager was probably the easiest thing I've done in my academic life. A quick comparison to Winterland here; when I was managing the second stage 1.5 years ago I overestimated my own knowledge and realised that I had severely over advertised myself, there were loads of things I hadn’t considered and had to make quick solutions. It was all very messy.

This time around though, I had at first decided to avoid production on this event, and see what I could do for the logistics team. However, things went as they did and I got pulled in by the “Production Gals” to sort out backline stuff and see that the second stage was up and running on time. Since Winterland, it was obvious that I had somewhat of a better idea of what would need to happen to make sure my stage would be a success.

There was one problem with this. The production team were too good. Every time I had an idea, a suggestion or a question that I thought hadn’t had much thought to it, I’d have about 4 people reassure me in harmony, about what has been done and how I shouldn’t have to worry about that specific aspect. Every time I was worried about something I’d simply mention it and my fears would be washed away by this angelic production choir. (Adrienne, the main stage manager, said “Don’t worry, we got this Michael” literally 3 times every meeting) My stage had a tent, power, all necessary backline, PA equipment and a flipping engineer before I even knew I was running it.

The day went so quickly I barely noticed, I had to make sure that my stage was on time with all its acts and there were no major disturbances to the lineup. In reality, about 80% of my stages’ artists either started or finished late, but due to the wonderful inexperience of the talent and production teams (in relation to solo artists), myself and the delegated engineer decided that the 20 minute changeover times were ludicrously overestimated and that we could be “flexible as fuck” with this lineup. this worked out nicely, and my stage stopped playing music before curfew, just for the record.

The biggest problem I faced all day was making sure artists got to the stage on time, I was constantly using the radio to contact the production office and see if the artists had arrived on site and that they were ready to be at my stage when needed. some artists made their own way and others couldn’t be found in time, but because the lineup was as flexible it was almost not an issue.

Dan was late, by the way.

The only artist who was also in our class turned up 10 minutes late for the only set he had been booked into; although it didn’t really matter because he could have almost doubled his set time without infringing on the artist following him. No one seems to know what he was doing when he was asked after, but he seemed to enjoy his stroll for about 100 yards across the main field before he arrived at my tent. He put on a good show though when he did go on. Everyone enjoyed Dan the Guitar.

The day rounded up quietly, my stage stopped playing music at exactly 5:40pm and we had a soft close up till 6pm, as I asked a nearby steward to close up the side of the tent one by one, encouraging people to leave. After a quick sweep of the tent for litter, I set the engineer free from my control and allowed him to de-construct all his equipment and pack it all down. I went back to the life of odd jobs, trading 21mm spanners with people and chatting back and forth on the radio helping find lost event staff and going on suntan lotion runs.

Overall the day was pretty breezy, it went a LOT better than I ever expected it to, this being because there were many small and recurring problems leading up to the day as well as assumed bad reception by the public. Now the marketing team inevitably did a good job, and it can’t be denied that the sunny weather had a part to play in our turn out, but I was still sure that there were going to be quarrels and arguments between everyone, but it just didn’t happen. It was kushty, to say the least.

Hello! As the release of 2064: Read Only Memories is coming up SUPER quick (just a few days now! January 17!) we’ve gotten a LOT of questions about the release and we want to answer a few that seem to be pretty common.

Sort of! The original release, Read Only Memories, came out in October 2015 for PC, Mac and Linux. We have nearly thirty voice actors, including BAFTA-nominated folks such as Melissa Hutchinson and Adam Harrington, huge game industry VO stars including Dave Fennoy and Erin Fitzgerald, gaming professionals like Jonathan Holmes and Zoe Quinn, and internet celebrities like Austin Creed (aka WWE’s Xavier Woods), Dan Ryckert, and Jim Sterling.

Not only that, but 2064: Read Only Memories also features: new and revamped puzzles! New animations! New characters! New areas to explore in the post-game “Endless Christmas” epilogue! Even more Hassy!!

There’s even an updated soundtrack and artbook for the deluxe version! Wow!

-UH... I already own Read Only Memories! What does this mean for me?

FIRST OF ALL - we just want to say THANK YOU for being there from the beginning!

If you purchased ROM through Steam, your copy will change automatically. You’ll know it’s ready for you when you see the name change to 2064: Read Only Memories. Just update and you’re good to go!

If you purchased it through Itch.io, Humble or GOG, you’ll need to login to your account and download 2064: Read Only Memories. We will be replacing the old store files, so you will just need to login and redownload! It’s EZ.

-I want to keep my original copy/save file for Read Only Memories but also get 2064: Read Only Memories. What do I do?

We’ll be keeping the original Read Only Memories accessible on Steam via a beta branch. To play, all you have to do is right-click the title in your library, click “Properties,” go to the “BETAS” tab, then dropdown click on “Read Only Memories.” We’ll also be keeping the Read Only Memories version available on Itch, GOG, and Humble! Keep in mind that old ROM save files are incompatible with 2064.

-You said you were bringing 2064 to the Playstation Vita/Xbox One/iOS/Android! What the hecky!

We’re still working hard on all of those ports, we promise! We are working first on Xbox One, which we believe we’ll have done shortly, and then moving on to Playstation Vita, iOS and Android. We know many of you are really looking forward to playing 2064: Read Only Memories on the go and now that the game is TOTALLY content complete, we can really just focus on porting. Cool!

-I don’t live in America! What about Europe?

Don’t worry! You’ll be able to get 2064: Read Only Memories on January 17th just like your friends in the U.S.

Week 7: Shit, this is hard.

Alrighty, It’s been a while since I’ve done this and I would like to clarify that it was not a conscious decision or thing that I was avoiding… More like something that I realized takes up a ton of time that I don’t really have. Time management is killing me, and I need to be better about that. This gap has been me learning how to better handle time.

GREAT BOOKS: We are now reading Plato’s Republic which has brought about a lot of interesting discussion. What really drives me crazy about this class is the fact that sometimes we get ourselves into this slippery slope where God is the conversation killer. Like being religious prevents people from analyzing the lives that we live. I feel like this loses the point. Just got out great books papers back and it seems like Clegg tore us a new one. The rewrites of that paper are due at the end of this week, but it’s Waves Weekend which means my family is coming to see me… so we’ll see how that goes. Either way, I love Clegg, she is the bomb. This week we are finishing the republic, but I was on Vocal Rest for a portion of the class as I had lost my voice early in the morning. And by some extremely interesting turn of events, the class told me that they loved my facial expressions and engagement in the class even if I can’t talk. It made my heart very quite happy.

PSYCHOLOGY: We only have one Psych class this week - okay honestly that was last week, but I’m going to have to skip psychology for a training session tomorrow so it applies to this week as well. Psychology is a class I enjoy deeply, although I did relatively poorly on the first test. I feel like that’s just college in general: learning that the way you learn isn’t the way you should learn and having to re-learn how to learn… yeah… Professor Folkerts is the bomb diggity though. I also have a psychology paper due, so we’ll see about that. THAT one is due on the 13th, which means I have to write it on Thursday… It is thursday. Whoo!

THEORY: I’m feeling surprisingly confident on my second theory test and I did my first set of triad flashcards in under a minute - 45 seconds to be precise. I just signed up for my first sight-singing test which will be this Sunday and I am not excited for that… Dr Peeples cancelled class and as much as theory is just a fancy math class, I miss having theory. Although, I do not miss waking up at 8am. Having an 8am sucks, my sleeping patterns are crap. Either way, I like theory a lot!

CHOIR: Gosh, I will never not love choir. I think I appreciate it so much because I wanted for such a long time to be in choir and now I get to be in a choir where people really, genuinely care about music. Chamber choir is, of course, more challenging and thereby more enjoyable than Concert Choir. But Concert Choir is just plain fun to be in. It also provides a really satisfying warmup before the really meaty stud din Chamber Choir. I get to be one of the soloists in In Paradisum and I also get to sing an Ab by myself in Stars, which is SO fun! I really just love choir. We performed for the parents at Waves Weekend and jeez I just can’t express how much I love music. It’s incredible.

MUSIC @ 3: This week was not the best I’ve seen. I shed no tears. Andy did a phenomenal job! There was also a violinist who was positively amazing!! I think I may have fallen for him as an artist. He was seriously incredible.

PRIVATE VOICE LESSONS/DR E: I LOVE SINGING. Dr E is the bomb, and I’m gaining more and more confidence about my voice. I almost have my German down, which is great. But I need to work more on everything. I dunno.

TATUM: TATUM HAS AN ALMOST BOYFRIEND. His name is Garett and he is not a complete asshole! They met at hoots - which, for those who don’t know, it is like a dance club where people country-line-dance and I do not think I will ever go there, but Tatum keeps trying to get me to go - and although he really asshole-d up the first few times of them getting together, he’s not bad looking and that means we will give him the benefit of the doubt for a little while longer. UPdate: THEY’RE DATING NOW. Wowee, Tatum and I both have guys.

BIG FISH: This show is really good. It’s going to be very, extremely good. I don’t have much else to say about it. I wear like ten million wigs and my costume changes all happen within the minute marking. The show is wild. I am starting to love it.

FAMILY: IT IS WAVES WEEKEND WHICH MEANS MY FAMILY IS COMING TO SEE ME. I am ridiculously excited to see my family. I miss them a lot. I feel like I’ve definitely been romanticizing them in my head, but still. I cannot wait to see them. I love my family, I’m so sad that they had to go so soon, it feels unfair. Marlo is the same as she has always been, I feel left out, but that’s okay. They’re learning to live without me like I’m learning to live without them and it sucks. I love them, even if - sometimes - I don’t like them.

JACK: unless we reach an ultimatum where I KNOW whether or not that is true, I can neither move past it nor move on. I know it seems silly to talk about that at this point in my life, but it seemed silly for me to invest so much time in my future when I was younger and now I am here and it was worth the years of investment, so how would my relationship with Jack be any different. I just want to fast forward through these upcoming years and be with Jack - or not be with him, but overall just know where I’m going to wind up so I can start preparing for that? Sigh. Listening to Kaui talk about being in love with Riley and knowing that they are no longer together makes me worry about my relationship with Jack. I just want him to make some sort of effort or acknowledge that missing me hurts or give me some sign that he cares about me beyond just physically being with me. It’s really hard for me, and oftentimes I feel alone in that; if he doesn’t care I’d rather know. I’m being melodramatic and I know if, but I still think my feelings are valid. I put a lot of effort into our relationship and I made it very convenient for him to love me, now that the going is tough, I hope he doesn’t leave.

OVERALL EMOTIONAL WELL BEING: I’m fine. Not great, not horrible, but I am okay. I’m very tired al the time and having a lot of trouble sleeping. I’ve been having a lot of nightmares, not sure why. Keep you posted on this. By the end of the week, I honestly feel the same. More sad now that my parents are gone. It’ll get better, I’m hesitantly optimistic.

Lemme guess, Motz’s sweetheart is his song? So what significance doe this have to do with anything? Classicaloid is better at episodics, so does this mean the endgame already? It is episode 20, after all.

About next week’s ep: Why is it a “Mad who Can Tell the Difference” (sic)? Shouldn’t it be a “maid” or something? Update: Translation of the preview (linked below) says it’s a man who can tell (understand) the difference (chigai no wakaru otoko), which makes more sense.

I think it was that you could predict a person’s personality by their sleeping position? Cho-chan seems to reflect that, as does Beethes.

Not sure if you can call Hasshie’s room a “room” or not.

*starts laughing uncontrollably* Oh no. They went and did it – they turned classical music into rap! It’s hideous(ly good and bad), but it’s absolutely what I love about this show.

I still think the avocado is such a non-sequitur it’s stupid, but…yeah, it was also great. It’s the “this is anime?” kind of great.

The next ep preview here says next time it’s Fur Elise under the guillotine…I actually look forward to that, since even though Fur Elise has tortured me to no end during my piano days, someone I know who’s barely educated in music has been trying to learn it so I’ve had to get my rusty piano skills out of the gutter for them.

(Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga ep 8)

The thing about Blue Exorcist is that it’s so serious, it ends up being not that bad when it gets to the “all talk, not much movement” parts. That’s because each piece of dialogue is a small step towards the bigger picture.

I’ve always been such a sucker for white haired guys, so Abend Qualm is definitely my type, LOL.

I always thought chocolate rice crackers was a weird choice. To see rice grains turned into chocolate-coated objects though…that I definitely question…

Wait. Is Nino’s father Abend or Qualm? They referred to the white haired man as Qualm, meaning Nino’s father is Abend, but since I don’t remember what the white haired man is called in the present day…yeah, I got confused. A lot. Update: Oh, that’s why. I think of Qualm as “that grey haired guy” and when I think of “that white haired guy” I think of Grossular. By the by, I read the TV Tropes page while trying to figure out who Qualm was and I LOLled so hard at “91 Cakes” plus the comments on bread.

How old is Nino? Dangit, he must be twice Jean’s age…Update: 25?! That makes him at least 10 years Jean’s senior!!!

When I can predict Nino did it for his father and not for Qualm, that’s when I start to drop the ratings a little bit. I dropped Divine Gate solely because the naming scheme of the protags was too obvious.

Smalt, Jaune d’or (?) and Mordore…well, I guess that was not what people meant when they said, “One does not simply walk into Mordore,” eh. By the way, doesn’t “jaune” mean “game in some language or other?

Revelations from this ep beggar the question: is the girl in the ED Schnee or Lotta?

Nuances really sell this show. It’s one of the reasons it ranks so highly for me. It’s like every little millimetre is rational and thought out…

I cried at Yakumo’s rakugo this ep. (I had the volume of the episode off and I played a song called Parachute in the background while he told this story…now I associate the song and Yakumo together so much, it’s scary.)

Moustache man scared me when he stuck his face on the window.

I knew Shinigami would come into play somehow. It’s as compelling as always – so compelling, I don’t complain about the predictability. It’s almost as if it’s gotten better the more I see it!

Huh. “Shi-san” instead of “Shinigami”.
