Ride 766: The ones chasing the colored bib!!
Pag 1
1: Those who pride themselves on their speed on flats are jumping ahead one by one!!
Waa
So fast!
2: Their goal is
3: the first result that's 10km ahead of here...
Pag 2
1: The sprint line!!
Pag 3
1: We're done here
On!!
Hurry up, you haven't forgotten anything?
No
2: Damn, road racing is so much more hectic than tennis
3: I-I'll grab that for you!
Thanks
4: We have to take a different route than the race to get to the supply point ahead of time
5: They were saying that a a lot of people jumped ahead earlier right after the start
For that “something line”? Is that thing so important?
On
Pag 4
1: The sprint line is the first title
2: During the Inter High there are three colored bibs you can obtain in one day: the sprint's “green bib”, the mountains' “red bib”, and the one for that day's victory, the “yellow bib”
This for all three days... nine of them in total
3: And among them, the “first day's fast sprint line” is the very first one
4: A flash situation right after the start when no one is injured or had retired yet.... out of the nine bibs that everyone can desire
5: under the same conditions, this, most of all, is the one
Pag 5
1: when everyone has the same chances!!
Gallop!!
2: The green bib
3: has to be mine!!
Ugh!! That guy's fast!!
4: There's a lot of show-offs from Nagoya
They mistake flashiness for strength
Real strength is
Pag 6
2: is “thickness”!!
Th... “thickness”!?
3: I'm Oosumi from Kagoshima's Satsuma Nishi high school!!
In Kyushu “thick” means “big”!! And I won't lose against anyone when it comes to waist circumference and neck thickness!!
Ugh!! He really is huge!
4: Oosumi-kun!!
Kagoshima's Oosumi-kun!!
5: The thickest volcano in Japan is Sakurajima!!
The thickest radish in Japan is the Sakurajima radish!!
Uh... but that has nothing to do with running!!
Pag 7
1: I want to try and see if there's a connection!!
3: If everyone has a chance, then it's not out of reach for anyone
4: That's right... the chances are equal... so
5: of course... in order to take all the bibs and regain the title
Pag 8
1: Kanagawa's Hakone Academy is aiming for the first sprint line too!!
Pag 9
1: “Shoot them down”?
You really wanna go, Bashi-kun?
2: Well...
3: In that case, Jou-kun will rest..
Wha!! wait, Manami, the plan....
4: We can't hold him back.... Bashi-san, please don't break your zipper
5: Even if I break it, as long as I win there's nothing to complain about!!
6: Can you do it?
Who do you think you're speaking to!!
7: I'll take it, 100%!!
My jersey, that was handed over to me by Izumida-san... and that Izumida-san got from Shinkai-san...
Pag 10
1: Is the one with the “bib number 4”, the ace sprinter number of Hakone Academy's tradition!!
2: Ugh!! Hakogaku is moving....
Ugh...
The first sprint.... for Hakogaku, Doubashi is suddenly going for it?!
Pag 11
3: Just now
4: I heard someone say that Hakogaku is moving!!
5: And earlier I got confirmation that Kaburagi moved
Pag 12
1: The third year Doubashi is going?
That Doubashi!!
2: What should our selected team do!!
3: We have no chance of winning
So do we keep going like this and preserve our strengths?
No
Should we send someone!?
4: Good grief.... is there no time to calmly savor the “feeling of running”at the Inter High!! The feeling of running!!
5: Pfui...
Pag 13
1: Of course I'm prepared for it but still!!
2: Kobayashi!! Uchikawa!!
3: You have the chance to test your legs that you've trained on the track field!!
4: Go for the green bib challenge!!
Pag 14
1: Huh.... but
But the first attack is basically already done
If only the two of us jump ahead now from here....
2: One last train is soon coming up from behind us
He has a terrific acceleration, but if you can jump on it you can make it to the front!!
3: Ohh
Waaa
4: He's coming!!
5: Seriously!? If we can then I wanna go!!
What should we do, Sugimoto-san!!
Pag 15
1: He's here!!
5: He's huge!!
Hakogaku!!
Huh!! Sugimoto-san!?
7: Kuaaaaaa!!
Pag 16
1: Doubashii!!
2: Sugimoto-san jumped ahead....
3: and caught up to the Hakogaku guy!?
4: Huh!?
What do you want, you....
Pag 17
1: You're Sohoku's handyman....!?
2: Can you take two people of the selcted team with you!?
I want to give them the chance to experience the sprint
3: Why are you running in the Inter High!!
4: The selected team!? So you're the one they said they called at last minute!!
Please take them with you
5: Ah!? You call that a negotiation!?
Get out of here with that selfish talk!!
6: There's no benefit for me..!! It's ridiculous!! I refuse!!
I'll make up for it!!
Pag 18
1: When Hakogaku is in a pinch somewhere, we'll help you!! I'll take the initiative!!
3: Buah!! Oi, wait-
You!? Helping!? Hakogaku!?
Th-that's right!!
4: Buuah, that's not balanced!!
Please
5: Please!!
Pag 19
1: …. tch, I don't hate earnest people
2: Get on!! Selected team's guys!! But I won't care if you get shaken off!!
5: Handyman!!
I felt your spirit!!
Pag 20
1: I'll take these guys for now
I don't expect anything though!!
Thank you Doubashi!!
Waaa-
He's so fast!!
Pag 21
1: Ah I'm so glad....
Sugimoto-san....
Sugimoto-san is amazing.... he negotiated....
2: Now, we'll run in a formation while preserving our strength
Otherwise, if we're all scattered when they come back, they won't have a place to rest
3: Yessir!!
4: Do your best, guys
5: So fast....
It's hard, Kobayashi...
6: But we'll hold out
This is the road that Sugimoto-san negotiated for us!!
Yes!!
Pag 22
2: Hakone Academy's Doubashi moved, on!!
This.... Issa-kun and Doubashi-san... could it be that it'll be like...
3: last year's matchup, on!!
4: No but, Kanzaki-chan, what you were saying earlier about the colored bibs
5: You said that counting the sprint and the climb, there's three of them for each day
Pag 23
1: And there's no one who wants to take all three of them?
2: Yeah, since climbing and sprinting are fundamentally different running styles, there's no one
5: That is, if you exclude....
Pag 24
1: those out-of the-ordinary people who will appear sometimes!!
Yon

Spring Anime Final Impressions
The flowers are gone and all we have left is the summer heat and flooding rains -literally my hometown’s in chaos because of the rain ahahaha- but I couldn’t leave without my last impressions of this lovely spring season. I’m going from best to worst, akthough just as it was at the start of the season, there’s a very harsh cutoff point from the good stuff to the trash.
Uchouten Kazoku 2: There’s little I can say that can express how beautiful and perfect this show is and how worried I was that the second season might feel unnecessary or that it wouldn’t live up to the magic of the first one, but boy was I wrong. This remains one of the most delightful and criminally underappreciated franchises of this decade and being able to spend more times with its wonderful characters and magical rendition of Kyoto has been an utter pleasure. If Morimi ever decides to write more novels I hope they get the same loving treatment from the folks at P.A. Works.
Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul: Although not the tightly packed exciting adventure of the first season, Virgin Soul is no less entertaining while also cutting deeper narrative sensibilities and character developments, as well as expanding the world of Bahamut without ever leaving the capital city. The production itself is wonderful, with a warm color palette and excellent animation. Nina is an excellent protagonist and one I enjoy following immensely and although I can’t help wonder what they’re planning to do with her budding romance with Murder King I’m certainly excited to see what adventures await her and Jeanne as they head to the dragon village.
Boku no Hero Academia 2: This season has definitely stood out for the flood of absolutely excellent sequels and HeroAca is no exception. Tournament arcs are a staple of the shonen genre but I haven’t seen a lot of them handle it as well as this show has, giving us a bittersweet conclusion and setting up character arcs for a lot of Deku’s very excellent classmates. The show did a great job of exploiting its extended cast for the best with a vast range of creative Quirks. I grew particularly fond of Mei and Shinso and I hope we get to see more of them. But first! Iida angst! Protect these children please!
Attack on Titan 2: After four years and watching Araki’s masturbatory Zombie Train AU, Attack on Titan’s season 2 had a lot to live up to and I gotta say it didn’t disappoint in the slightest! Between the excellent pacing, the brilliantly planned horror tone and the little tweaks in bringing up events from later in the manga (namely Ymir’s backstory) they managed to make these 12 episodes a wild and incredibly satisfying ride. Maybe my only complaint is the brief appearance of CG Colossal Titan, but other than that, it was a worthy sequel that easily surpassed the original and I’m really looking forward to S3. Extra props for the OP and the terrifying ED which will give me nightmares forever.
Natsume Yuujincho Roku: This new season of Natsume, however short and seemingly inconsequential, felt leagues above the previous one, and I can’t quite pinpoint why. There was something uniquely heart-warming about the selection of stories and seeing how far Natsume has come in his journey and with the support of friends and people that love him. Although there was virtually no progress in disentangling the mystery of Reiko (actually, I don’t think Natsume returned a single name this season) we got a couple of clues in the last two episodes and had an important change with Natori. I don’t know if we’ll ever see more seasons of this beautiful show, but that it remains so consistently well-written and sweet after over 70 episodes is truly a wonder.
Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation: I was skeptical about Yowapeda without the charismatic third years, but I gotta give props to Watanabe and the anime team for managing to create new compelling characters for all the main teams. It still has its shortcomings: Kaburagi’s quite insufferable for the most part, as is Doubashi, and I’m not a fan of Izumida becoming a cocky trashtalker. I think they could’ve done more with Sohoku as reigning champions, but for the most part they’ve fabricated dumb excuses to still paint them as underdogs, which is frustrating. And I will never in my entire life forgive them for not giving Teshima light of my life at least the minimal satisfaction of taking a tag. It’s a frustrating recurring theme that hardworking characters (like Teshima or Oikawa) always lose to the geniuses (unless they’re the protagonist) and that paints a very grim and saddening picture of sports, especially considering these shows are supposed to be aimed at teenagers. Idk, it’s annoying and Teshima deserved better. Still a great season overall, but a very sour ending.
Kabukibu!!: It’s always nice to see a show about a niche subject be actually good and that was the case with Kabukibu. Although it never quite reached the heights of the first few episodes with its subtle discussions of gender, it remained a charming show that shone through its terrible terrible production values. Although I’ll say it didn’t quite succeed in making me interested in Kabuki the way Rakugo Shinjuu did with its titular art form, it has a unique message about the elitization of art. Definitely worth a watch.
Little Witch Academia: You’ll probably think LWAs low position on this rank is rather strange. It’s not a bad show by any means. It’s charming, fun, with great animation and likable characters. But I was sourly disappointed with how the second half panned-out, with its laser focus on Akko causing the colorful cast (including best girl Sucy) to fade into the background completely. With the exception of a few standalone episodes, none of the other girls –save Diana- really got much time to shine, which was a true tragedy. The resolution of the conflict with Croix was also awfully anticlimactic. So yes, a very good show, maybe better than the two above it, but that had potential for so much more so I can’t help grading it on a curve in terms of how it didn’t meet my expectations.
Oushitsu Kyoushi Heine: I honestly had no expectations going into this one and thought I’d end up dropping it so I was pleasantly surprised by how fun and charming it was. It’s not breaking any grounds or changing the world, it’s just that old familiar comfort food that doesn’t disappoint and leaves with a happy, satisfied feeling. The ending was super hammy but I was nonetheless charmed by the four princes and Heine so it feels like a worthy use of my time, though I wouldn’t reccommend it to anyone that wasn’t already into this kind of shows.
STARMYU 2: Like Heine, Starmyu is easy, stupid comfort food. It’s hard to praise it because it is so profoundly stupid, but I love it dearly even if I can hardly name the five main characters. The middle portion was kind of a bore, but it picked up pretty great in the end, with the twist of giving Hoshitani the starring role so he could go full gay share the stage with Otori, and they even managed to somehow tie up most of the loose threads they opened during the season –namely Ageha’s involvement- even if it was in trite, ridiculous ways. But if you expected anything less than trite and ridiculous from Starmyu, you’re barking at the wrong tree
Grimoire of Zero: The first half of this series was terrrrribly boring (and overall terrible too), but it managed to have a graceful landing for the finale and that’s why I’m putting it above the other two. Could’ve done without the creepy salesman almost literally masturbating to Zero’s smell or the show making us sympathize with the dirtbag sex slaver wolfman or how generally boring the major conflict was but it was mostly okayishly dull. Terrible production values though with Kabukibu as competition, you almost didn’t notice.
Re:Creators: Aaaand here’s where we take a dip in shitland. This is a very depressing show because it has so much potential and some true moments of brilliance, but it never truly grasps any of it, doesn’t stick the landing, and then we’re left with a “what could’ve been”. Plot developments are contrived –especially in regards to Magane- and Meteora needs to shut the fuck up. Our milquetoast protagonist (who claims in ep 1 he’s not the protagonist and some suckers actually believed him) has also received a tragic dead girl accessory now which only makes the whole thing even more sour and frustrating
Seikaisuru KADO: Hear me out folks, I love KADO. I love it because I hated the first half with such boiling passion and yet saw people singing its praises left and right for its “complex themes” “clever sci-fi plot” and “original premise” in spite of its terrible writing and inconsequential plot developments. The writing introduced literally world changing concepts and then refused to commit to show their consequences, to the point of completely backtracking by the end of the show. So I was veeeery pleased when the show decided to self-destruct in the stupidest possible manner if only for a sense of petty self-vindication i-was-right-all-along. It ended being terrible for different reasons than it was at the start, but still, the fact that it managed to have such an incredibly terrible ending is mind-bogglingy hilarious. Of course, if you give it proper thought, it’s infuriating –everything regarding the magic Daughter ex Machina plot is- but boy am I glad the show became so irredeemably terrible. Thanks Toei! (zaShunnina and Hanamori deserved better though). I’ll give them this, the dynamic of zaShunnina’s arm movements was pretty unique and gave us a handful of very fun shots.
And now the summer’s here and my last month of freedom before I start my Masters, pray for my soul my friends. Spring was a very strong season thanks to its very strong sequels, but there aren’t any of those for summer (except for the continuing ones) Let’s hope that this new season brings along a good bout of surprises and good anime and that Amazon doesn’t destroy the simulcast industry

Stageplay Yowamushi Pedal new InterHigh arc ~Starting Line~
All 15 performances. We were able to safely reach the final show!
For so many visitors Truly, thank you very much!
For your letters, presents, and cheers of encouragement, Thank you very, very much!
Fuu.
Not being able to ride anymore The realization hasn’t fully hit me yet, so it’s somewhat sad
I feel the joy that we were able to ride through till the end without injury, and a sense of accomplishment too
Souhoku NewGen, Start Up was the first time I got to stand on the stage in Pedal
One year has already passed since then.
At that time, surrounded by my big senpai, I was taught many things
But if you've noticed, now I’m in a position to teach others.
One year ago, I couldn’t even imagine
that I would come to be called a senpai in such a historic and significant work like Stageplay Yowamushi Pedal.
This time, from the beginning of practice, I was honestly feeling the pressure
“I don’t get it... how's it done again?”
I wasn’t in a position to say such things
It’s not “not yet the 3rd time”, it’s already the 3rd time
I wonder if I can properly become a reliable senpai?
Can I be an example of those great backs that I saw?
I was uneasy.
I’m not such a quick-thinker and I’m still inexperienced as an actor
I’m an average person
I felt that I understood Aoyagi’s feelings
Surely Aoyagi also felt uneasy; becoming an InterHigh member for the first time as a 3rd year, and becoming vice-captain
But since Junta was there, he could do his best
I'm really the same as Aoyagi.
I too, could do my best because Kousuke-san was by my side as my partner
When we met together this time, Kousuke-san said Junta’s line, “If you don’t work hard, no one is going to expect anything from you”
From hearing those words,
I feel that I was able to calm my anxious feelings and put my best face forward in response
I said that I’ll work hard to hide my impatience towards the strengths I lack
The things I learned up until now, I thought, “I’ll take over and teach them, I’ll show it through my riding”
The only Souhoku InterHigh members who were experienced in Pedasute were me and Kousuke-san. I too, tried to to everything that I could Without always depending on the captain “Do your best to be like a vice-captain” I kept this in my mind, but やっぱり康介さんに 頼ってしまったとこばかりだったなあ sure enough, it was still as if I constantly relied on Kousuke-san 康介さんが稽古に合流してから チームが一気にまとまって From the time Kousuke-san joined practice, the team immediately came together Aah, when Kousuke-san isn’t here, I’ll have to take on this role “I wonder if I can’t do it” I thought.
I still have a long way to grow. I want to acquire various skills! That’s what I think when I see Kousuke-san. For the first time, the two of us didn’t have a riding scene together But mysteriously, it didn’t feel that way
We’re a team of two, even when separated, our feelings are one A dream of 2 people going to the InterHigh At last that wish came true, Junta I really love Teshima and Aoyagi’s Team of 2. In such a wonderful team I’m glad I got to get close to Kousuke-san I want to say it again 幸せだ I’m glad 腹の底から叫びたい I want to shout it from the bottom of my heart I’M REALLY GLAD!!!! Such a long-sought-after InterHigh. "I’ll challenge it with all I’ve got”, I thought. 銅橋とのスプリント戦。 原作を知っていても ファーストリザルトって 誰が取るんだっけ…? そう思わせるレースにしたかった The sprint battle with Doubashi. Even if you already knew from the original work, ”Now who takes the first result again...?” I wanted to make it feel like that kind of race. 今までのペダステのレースで 1番熱かったって言って貰える 気持ちでペダルを回した Out of all the Pedasute races up until now, I can say that this was the hottest one I pedaled with all my heart ホントに銅橋に勝とうと truly wanting to beat Doubashi and 全てを懸けて holding everything in 正直、ハードな毎日でした。 脚は疲労困憊で正直なところとてもキツかったです Honestly, every day was hard. My legs were totally exhausted, and frankly speaking, it was very hard でも胸張って言える But I can say from my heart どの公演も全力で戦った In each and every performance, I fought with all my might 力をふり絞った I mustered all my strength やりきった! I did it! 脚が痛む時もあったけど でもその痛みが僕は正解だとも思う There were times when my legs were in pain, but I think that that pain was also "right” だって長くはもたな必殺技 The reason being, my short-term surefire technique Because of Bambi Style! It naturally puts a burden on your legs. I wonder if it’s evidence that I was able to embody the Bambi Style? I thought how happy I was that I could do something like that too バカですよね(笑) That’s foolish, isn’t it (lol) でも田所さんに教わった スプリンターにバカであることは 必要と聞いてるからいいですよね😤 But, I was taught by Tadokoro-san Since I heard that foolishness in a sprinter is necessary; it’s all good 😤 青八木一って男は本当にカッコ良い。 Aoyagi is a truly cool guy. Playing him this time, I realized it even more. To win in the InterHigh Even though he brought out his refined surefire technique, Aoyagi couldn’t escape from Doubashi Meanwhile, I wonder just how frustrated Aoyagi was feeling that he entrusted the first result to his kouhai I certainly wouldn’t show it on my face, but I think it would frustrate me to death. But for Souhoku’s sake, he made the decision to entrust it to Kaburagi He mustered all his strength and passed him the baton Aoyagi is the coolest guy ever. I’m glad that I can embody such a man. I’m the only one who can do Bambi Style!
He was Kaburagi Issa himself Thanks for riding with me. We pedaled like crazy. Riding together was truly fun. Right before the sprint battle we’d always embrace, firmly grasp hands, and murmur “Victory” together I always got energy from that. Since Ryou-kun is pedaling to that extent, I too, must pedal that much, no matter what!” って事を言ってくれて he would say things like that 伝われ! Ride and follow me!” With such a message, 全力で託した スプリントの場面があって there was a sprint scene that I put my all into 伝わって本当に嬉しかった I was truly glad to convey it 胸が熱くなった。 My heart grew hot. It’d be nice if I can be a senpai both as Aoyagi and as myself
僕(笑) More than everyone thinks, I miss Pedasute. From the curtain call up until this point I feel like I’ve been in a daze.
I’ll never forget that I was able to ride with these members Until the day we can meet again somewhere I’ll go past Bambi Style I’ll develop an even more amazing surefire technique so I can show that I became stronger I’ll do my best from tomorrow, too. From the performance this time, I can’t put it into words but I think I obtained something very important In my own life from now on as well, with what I learned in my heart, I’ll keep walking forward スプリンターのように Like a sprinter 真っ直ぐに、全力で I’ll go straight ahead, with all I’ve got Yowamushi Pedal is wonderful. I love Pedasute. I’ll continue to walk with Aoyagi from now on. Yashima Ryou

(More Mineko headcanons, this time featuring friendship headcanons in addition to some more for her and her boyfriends. I’m thinking about creating a masterlist for all of her headcanons in the near future for convenience and because I revised some of the headcanons for her and Komari in light of his backstory being revealed [that I haven’t revised in the post I made weeks ago].)
General/Friendship:
Mineko’s “Character Image” Playlist is:
“Chocolat”-Mariya Ise
“My Sweet Heart”-AmaLee
“Blue”-The Birthday Massacre
“Resentment”-XanduIsBored
Onoda and Mineko talk a lot of about different mech animes, but she doesn’t share his same passion for Love Hime. They’ll still go to Akihabara together to go shopping and discuss new series and seasons of the shows they like. Some of Mineko’s suitors get jealous of the time she can spend with Onoda, but mostly they know it’s a harmless, wholesome friendship between the two.
Doubashi and Mineko have a respectful relationship for one another, albeit it starting a bit rocky. Mineko didn’t like Doubashi’s aggressiveness, but once he mellowed out thanks to Izumida, they started warming up to each other. Doubashi admires Mineko’s hard working tendencies and respects her greatly, taking her criticisms with humility when she scolds him for being abrasive.
Izumida and Mineko get along surprisingly well. Having been large in the past himself, Izumida doesn’t criticize Mineko about her weight despite currently having a fit body, acknowledging that she gets along just fine and even defends her from bullies who’d try to say otherwise. Izumida is often accused by his teammates of being their “mom”, but Mineko often backs up his lecturing ways to try and get the other boys to be more responsible.
Speaking of moms, Kaburagi often treats Mineko like a big sister. Since she has a naturally doting personality and Kaburagi’s a bit spoiled, he picked up on her warm tendencies quickly and he instinctively started to treat her like an older sibling. Sometimes he pretty much demands her attention in wanting to be complimented for doing well, and complains to her when he feels like his teammates aren’t treating him nicely. He thinks that Onoda and Mineko should be together over Mineko and any of her suitors.
/w Teshima:
Their typical date spot is karaoke. Mineko was never really a huge fan of singing, but Teshima convinced her to come along for a casual outing with some of his friends; she didn’t sing by herself for one song during that time, but she had a lot of fun and it opened her up to karaoke being a place to go on dates for them. This has led to them also listening to music together in their spare time since Teshima finds songs that they could sing together.
Their ship song is “Where the Lonely Ones Roam” by Digital Daggers.
/w Manami:
Their typical date spot is anywhere they can have a picnic. Manami loves being outside most of all, and he also loves sharing his favorite spots with Mineko whenever he can. As a result, he begs/asks Mineko to prepare a picnic since he loves her cooking, and then he bikes them to a spot where they can sit down and eat. She wasn’t a big fan of this since she’s heavy and figured it’d be a lot of work for him to pedal them both on one bike, but she may as well not be on the bike at all with how easily he rides with them both on it; she usually sits on the handlebars facing him or balances side-saddle on the back of the seat.
Their ship song is “Plenty of Paper” by Eisley.
/w Yuuto:
Their typical date spot is a bakery. Both of them really enjoy sweets, and they get excited if they can find little hole-in-the-wall places that sell interesting items; like one date they may find a place that sells French pastries, and then the next they might try somewhere that specializes in different styles of crepes. Since Yuuto has a similar appetite to his brother, he likes to order as much as they can to try out, but since Mineko’s more of a grazer she doesn’t eat as much, leaving Yuuto to pick up the slack so they don’t waste food. He gets stomachaches because of this sometimes, but he sweet-talks Mineko into rubbing his belly when he overdoes it.
Their ship song is “Sugar” by Maroon 5.
/w Kuroda:
Their typical date spot is the restaurant/diner Hakone frequents. Kuroda likes to be a bit more casual with their dates, part of which is that something simple means that they could have more time together that qualify as a date in his mind, so he believes meeting at Hakone’s favorite hangout after school is enough of a date. He’ll treat her to more romantic places occasionally, but he likes if there’s not a whole lot of pressure to do something extraordinary and simply hanging out can be a date.
Their ship song is “Bruises & Bitemarks” by Good With Grenades.
/w Ashikiba:
Their typical date spot is a cafe. It started off as Ashikiba just going by where his friends told him to take Mineko on their first date, but they really enjoy the peaceful atmosphere at a cafe so they usually go to one when they have some free time. He especially likes it if the cafe has some jazz or classical music playing in the background, and he has the tendency to close his eyes and hold Mineko’s hands from across the table as he’s listening with a warm smile on his face, enjoying the “wholesome” feeling of them being together.
Their ship song is “I’m Yours” by Alessia Cara.
/w Aoyagi:
Their typical date spot is an arcade. Both of them really enjoy video games, and they like going to an arcade to play games together; Aoyagi is better at rhythm games like taiko and DDR, but Mineko is better at fighting games. They end up making bets with each other, like “if I make more baskets than you then you owe me a kiss” or “if I beat this high score then we get okonomiyaki afterwards”. Despite getting a little competitive with each other, they end up having a lot of fun, and most of the time they give all their tickets to a kid before they leave than use them for anything themselves.
Their ship song is “Memories” by Within Temptation.
/w Terufumi:
Their typical date spot is an aquarium. Terufumi sees the aquarium as a nice, pretty place to take Mineko that doesn’t seem as “serious” or overly romantic because he worries about being overbearing about his feelings and doesn’t want to scare her off, despite what she says. He also enjoys showing off his knowledge of marine life and even studies before their dates to try and impress her with how much he knows, but Mineko just loves looking at pretty fishes and being in his company.
Their ship song is “Lionheart” by Demi Lovato.
/w Kishigami:
Their typical date spot is nowhere, or at a race they both happen to be at. The two aren’t dating at all, but Kishigami refers to them running into each other as “dates” since he knows there’d likely never be a formal one. If there was one, it’d be because Mineko lost a bet between them; in which case, Kishigami would take her to something surprisingly simple like a cafe and then a movie. He wouldn’t try anything, but he’d be highly amused every time Mineko regarding any of his actions with suspicion.
Their ship song is “Sugar Skin” by Guano Apes.
Deep down he believes that Mineko truly hates him and it hurts him to think that she does. Finding someone he thinks is extremely similar to him and having her “hate him” makes him feel terrible, but he doesn’t want to hide his true self in front of her just so she might find him more enjoyable to be around. However, Mineko doesn’t hate him, but greatly dislikes that he doesn’t seem to respect her boundaries, even if he’s more restrained with being around her than with most others involved in cycling.
