We as a society could move beyond the general perception of raves and clubbing as high-risk, drug-fueled and constantly overstimulating activities so fast if we acknowledged widely that dance parties at conventions are raves.

If you have been at a con and gone to a dance party to hear some music and the lights were off and there was one single guy in a fursuit, you have been to a rave (congratulations!)

If you enjoyed that part of the con, you may enjoy going to another rave or themed club night! Maybe even more because you're not dog tired from running around all day and when you're done you can go home and eat fries quietly in your own bed rather than in a hotel room with 10 other people. Give it a think!
