I've been getting certain specific comfort fic kinda ideas stuck in my head all the time recently and while I'm starting to wonder how much I should be indulging these, you know from a "is this a form of learned helplessness" sort of idea, it's also like. Hm. Those could be fun to go at things from a Purely Emotional Angle

Like. The whole isekai chocobros thing where reader gets sucked into eos, but they can figure out pretty quickly that you, uh, don't really have much to go back to? Them just all eagerly asking about who's waiting for you back home and you're just like "oh I just need to get back before I lose my job and get evicted" without any mention of friends or family. Or maybe you just. Encounter them and when you learn of your situation you just. Go into shock. Because it's like, what did you really lose anyways, but also, now doesn't this mean you have to start all over again? And you kind of just. Tell them to leave you to die in the woods as you sit there and cry for a while

Or like something I had mentioned previously with Nanami where he's eventually like "hm, you know, I think this student is so good at harnessing negative energy because they're Totally Fucking Dead Inside and thats actually probably a bad thing?" Like there's a particularly concerning way you get violent with spirits or lose your composure or blow up. Maybe you crack a joke like "working in retail makes you want to hit things anyways" which, he can totally relate but, you're seeming to come at this job as a sorcerer from a completely "I don't care if I die at this point, im in full self destruct mode with nothing to lose" mindset and he eventually decides, hm, maybe I should step in here, let this kid stay with me for a while

Honestly its a little different now with him only being 35 but, Stolas getting attached to you and learning you're estranged from your father, who you had a horrible relationship with and died before getting to talk to again, and when your dad eventually dies and tries to reconnect, he "takes care of him" because, well, your dad had a chance, and Stolas wants to be your new dad now (and imagine how fucking awkward this was to have in my drafts and then actually reconnect with MY actual father 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️)

Also I like the idea of, similar prompt to above but with Omniman, but itd be in like a weird, "fucking your stepdad" kind of thing. I just, I've thought of half-Viltrumite Reader moving in next door to him on accident, you live with only your mom, she eventually passes from something and maybe the Grayson family takes you in, or at least constantly comes over to check on you as neighbors. Nolan wants to either train you or, you know, forms some form of affection for you, and maybe when your missing Viltrumite dad tries to show up again, Nolan takes him out before you're even aware he's back on the planet. HE'S the only mature older male you need in your life, in his opinion 😳 and yeah, he's much older than you from the whole alien thing and he's probably intimately aware of the effect not having a dad can make some people... horny for father figures
