it kind of bothers me that witcher fans don’t really unite under sapkowski’s name like other fans of fantasy authors do (e.g. “tolkien fans”).

in practically any other fandom of fantasy books, save for the particularly rancid authors known for their disappointing and shameful behavior or views (e.g. jk r*wling), it’s just regular business to say the author’s name. but sapkowski’s name is treated like a dirty word in the witcher fandom, for really no good reason…

it must be asked — what is stopping us from doing so?! why don’t we call ourselves sapkowski fans. it would be much easier than saying “i’m a fan of the witcher, but only the books, i don’t consider the various adaptations canon, etc. etc.” … “half a hundred words, when three are enough!!”

a/n: ok y’all. this one’s a lil shorter, but this is where it starts getting whacky. the way i’m writing this is sort of like if i was writing a comic book, so this is a WHOLE ASS PLOTLINE that i could see being illustrated in my brain. i hope you enjoy, bc it’s about to get WILD. don’t worry tho the fluff will come bc i’m soft(ish)

First thing’s first, Hobie needs to find out where the Prowler of your world might be. He could always call Miles and ask him where his Uncle Aaron lived, but that seems a little… insensitive. If there’s anything he knows about the Prowler, he knows that he’s a thief. So, Hobie snatches your police dispatcher and listens for some burglaries being reported. Getting any type of assistance from the police pains him to his very core, but he’s not about to wake you up and let you know what he’s about to do. He crouches on the railing of your balcony and stares out at your city. He hears calls about someone robbing a Bloodega, not the Prowler. Some kids snuck into a club, also not what he needs. “Come on, pigs,” he mumbles, “give me somethin’ useful here.”

That’s when his ears perk up.

“Reports of someone lurking around of Oscorp Labs, suspicions that it might be the Prowler. Units on standby for Spider-Goth, do not engage with the Prowler.”

Do not engage? What the hell? Isn’t he a villain? Hobie quickly understands what’s going on.

He works with the cops.

Fuck this assshole.

He leaps off your balcony, webbing his way through your city. It may not be his style, necessarily, but it’s a nice place. He can see why you like it so much. He’s actually been webbing through it more than he ever expected to with how much he visits you. He knows deep down that he’s visiting so much only to see you, but outwardly he likes to pretend it’s just to see Shadow. He knows more about your world than Miles, Pav, or Gwen’s which is interesting considering he’s known you only about 3 and a half months. Luckily, you live only a short web swing away from Oscorp, so he can’t get too lost in his thoughts about you and can end this guy faster. He lands on the top of the building and glances around. He notices a perfectly cut hole in the glass a few floors down, so he crawls down and through into the building. It’s dark. He tries to stay as quiet as he possibly can because he knows that’s how you would do it, but damn. He just isn’t good at stealth. And this is factual apparently, because he gets the feeling someone is watching him and just barely jumps out of the way from what looks like a whip covered in spikes. He lands on the ground in a crouched position when he hears a somewhat familiar sounding voice. “Who the hell are you?”

“Can ask you the same question, mate,” Hobie says, “The answer will make this whole thing so much easier.”

“You one of that freak’s friends?”

“Something like that,” Hobie responds. “I take it you’re the Prowler?”

“The one and only,” he says, and Hobie rolls his eyes under his mask. “Mate, do I have some news for you,” he snorts, and the Prowler flicks his wrist. His whip makes some mechanical noise and green and purple light starts shining through it in little places where the metal isn’t completely welded together. Hobie motions to it. “Bet you’re proud a’ that. What are you? A cybergoth? cyborgoth?”

“I’ll ask this one more time. Who are you?”

“Name’s Spider-Man, also known as Spider-Punk,” Hobie says, and the Prowler groans. “There’s another one? You’ve got to be kidding.”

“There’s a lot more than just me and them, mate,” Hobie crouches down, ready to leap out of the way if need be. “Why are you here? Where’s my insect at?”

Hobie doesn’t like the way he called you his. “They’re not yours,” he hisses at him. The Prowler is quiet for a moment before laughing. “Oh. I see. Didn’t know they had a boyfriend,” he says, before whipping towards Hobie. He jumps out of the way in time, but almost doesn’t because boyfriend? Excuse me? “Not their boyfriend!” he yells, landing on the ceiling and glaring down at the Prowler. “No? Then why are you here? I figured it was because of how badly I beat them. Their screams were so entertaining.” Hobie hates this man. He clenches his jaw. “Nowhere near as entertainin’ as yours’ll be, dickhead,” he grunts, jumping down and shooting a web at the Prowlers legs. Luckily, the Prowler wasn’t expecting that, and Hobie is able to yank his legs out from underneath him. He falls hard, and Hobie smirks. “Oh sorry, did that hurt?” Hobie says, and the Prowler growls, standing up faster than Hobie anticipated. “I’ll kill you.”

“Not if I kill you first, mate,” Hobie says, anger seeping out of his words. “A spider that willingly kills, huh? Is that why you came to find me?” he chuckles, “I feel like you and I could be good friends,” the Prowler’s chuckle turns into a laugh, and it pisses Hobie off even more. “I’d rather die than be friends with someone like you,” Hobie shoots another web at him, but this time the prowler dodges it. He flicks his wrist, and Hobie feels the whip make contact with his side. He grunts in pain. This must be what got you earlier today. “That can be arranged. You’re even worse than your little partner,” the Prowler says, and Hobie can hear the smirk. He wants to punch that fucking smirk off his stupid face. Hobie stands again, grabbing his guitar. If it’s a fight to the death this fucker wants, it’s a fight he’ll get. And Hobie will not be dying tonight. “Oh, what are you gonna do? Power chord me out of existence?”

“More like beat your ass until you kick it,” Hobie growls, “but if ya want me to do it with style, I’ll play ya a song over your dead body.”

“Bold of you to assume I’ll be the one dying tonight,” the Prowler says and uses his whip again. Hobie jumps out of the way, and his eyes widen as he dodges two bullets in midair. He lands on the ground and sees that the Prowler’s gauntlets are guns as well. He scoffs. “How much that suit cost ya?”

“Would have cost a lot if I didn’t steal it or invent it myself, but I did,” Hobie dodges two more bullets, but lands directly on the Prowlers whip, causing him to slip and fall. “Luckily my agreement with the police got me the state-of-the-art tech that I needed,” the Prowler confesses. “Fuck,” Hobie grunts, jumping up as quickly as he can. “I’m gonna love telling Spider-Goth I took down their boyfriend.”

“Not their boyfriend!” Hobie yells, jumping out of the way of his whip, and more bullets.

“I find that very hard to believe.”

“Look, how ‘bout we settle this without any gadgets, eh? See who wins then?” Hobie says, and the Prowler scoffs. “If you can’t beat me at my best, you can’t beat me at my worst.”

“Actually, yeah I can. Dunno if you’re realizin’, but I’m still alive and breathin’,” Hobie says, jumping out of the way of his whip yet again. This time, though, Hobie was prepared. He webs the whip and yanks it as hard as he can. The Prowler is airborne as Hobie swings him to the other side of the room. He lands with a thud, and Hobie webs over to him, doing a flip to land a kick directly to the face. The Prowler manages to get his whip wrapped around Hobie’s ankle and flings him back across the room. He crashes into some glass wall and groans. “As much as I fuck with your ‘fuck the establishment attitude,’ Spider-Goth ain’t gonna be too happy with me if I destroy another buildin’,” Hobie says, shaking his head, hearing some glass fall down next to him. Then, the alarms start blaring. ‘Great, probably broke somethin’ important,’ he thinks before noticing a piece of glass stuck in his arm. ‘Gotta make this quick,’ he thinks, grunting as he pulls the glass out of his arm. “Like I give a fuck what makes them mad,” the Prowler says, running towards Hobie. He leaps out of the way, webbing his leg again and causing him to slip and fall. Hobie then delivers a blow to the side of his face with his guitar, but thanks to his armor, it just hurts him more than anything.

Then Hobie hears hissing. He leaps up onto the ceiling just before a mechanical snake was about to sink its stupid metal fangs into him. “Made yourself friends ‘cause ya ain’t got any? I’d be gutted for you if ya weren’t such a dick,” Hobie says, webbing the snake and jumping off of the ceiling. He does a flip in midair, swinging the snake with him and throwing it at the Prowler. He dodges just in time, but Hobie is able to deliver another blow to him. This time, Hobie goes for his leg. And he hears a crack. Just as he wanted. The Prowler shrieks out in pain. 

Hobie lands next to him and bends down. “Hope that hurt, fucker,” he spits, striking his other leg in the same fashion. He dodges the mechanical snake again, grabbing it and using his strength to break it in one squeeze. He throws it to the side and dodges more bullets from the Prowler’s gauntlets. Unsurprisingly, Hobie goes for both arms next. He stops when the man is rendered completely useless, rolling the Prowler over on his back. “I win,” Hobie says, and even he is taken aback at how menacing his voice sounds. The Prowler grunts, “You sure you’re a good guy?” Hobie ignores him and stands beside his head. “I do what I want. Any last words?”

The Prowler is silent for a moment before speaking. “Tell them that their boyfriend would have been able to save–”

Hobie doesn’t let him finish.

In fact, Hobie has trouble stopping even after he knows the deed is done. He didn’t even give Osborn this kind of disrespect. But this guy is different. All Hobie has to do is think about the state of your back, how you still blame yourself for what this motherfucker did to someone you cared so much about, and he’s swinging his guitar again.

He only stops when there’s nothing left to hit.

He breathes heavily, observing what he’s done in the flashing red lights as the alarm blares in the background. He walks back to the window, glancing back at what he’s done before leaping out and webbing away as fast as possible. He hopes no one saw him. Doesn’t want anyone confusing you for him.

He lands on your balcony and sees Shadow waiting for him inside the doors. He opens them and hears the cat meow at him. He leans down, giving him a few scratches, before opening a portal to his world. He goes home, falling on his bed. He groans, feeling the injuries he got for the first time. The adrenaline was keeping him going that entire fight. He gets up, and begins mending his injuries. Halfway through the last set of stitches he has to give himself, he gets a call on his watch from Miguel. He rolls his eyes, ready to get yelled at for, ‘interfering with the fate of the multiverse, yaddah yaddah yaddah blah blah blah boring boring boring.’

“Yeah, what d’ya want?” he answers, finishing up his stitches. “Get to Spider Society immediately.”

“I’m a little busy here, mate can it–”

“NO! It can’t wait, Hobie! Get here now!” Miguel screams, hanging up. Hobie groans. He was supposed to go back to your world so when you wake up, he would be there and explain why he did what he did. He could just go back… but then Miguel might show up in your world. And he sure as hell doesn’t want that. Sighing, he opens a portal to earth-2099, walking through and ending up in Miguel’s multi-screened research room. “Do you know what you did.”

“Killed a bloody villain, what of it?” Hobie asks, already annoyed. Miguel pounds his fist on the desk. “You interfered with (Y/n)’s timeline, Hobart!”

“I was protecting them!”

“YOU CREATED AN ANOMALY!” Miguel screams, and Hobie frowns. “How did I–”

“You killed a villain not a part of your own world, a villain who played a role in a major canon event of (Y/n)’s and now–”

“Would you come off it with the fuckin’ canon events?! Whatever it is will be resolved in one way or another!”

“Hobie you don’t understand–”

“He hurt them! Was I just supposed to stand around and let it happen?!”

“YES! We’re Spider-People it’s part of the job,” Miguel screams, and Hobie rolls his eyes. “I thought you hated them anyways, why did you want to protect them so bad?!” Miguel asks, and Hobie freezes. That… is actually a good question. He sees your injuries in his mind again and his frown deepens. Why did he want to protect you? Surely, he doesn’t… like you? No, he wouldn’t have done what he just did for a just a friend, though he would have still hunted the Prowler down. But the thought of him hurting you drove him to do unspeakable things… which he did. Is it… does he like you romantically?

His eyes widen. It would make sense if he felt that way. He was around you 24/7. These past two days were torture. He likes the way you challenge him. He likes the way you look, he likes the way you speak, he likes– “Hobie. Answer me.” His thoughts get cut off by Miguel, and he swallows hard. “I… I actually can’t answer that right now,” he says, and Miguel frustratedly runs his hand through his hair. “Hobie. What you just did…”

“Is bad, I know–”

“It’s not just bad. It’s detrimental.”

“What do you–”

“Do you know who you killed?” Miguel asks, and Hobie scoffs. “Obviously. I killed the Prowler, probably some variant of Aaron Davis or–”

“The Prowler on Earth-666 is not Aaron Davis,” Miguel says, frowning at him. “Did I kill Miles? You know his voice did sound kind of familiar…” Hobie asks, feeling a little worse about the way he handled the situation. “No. It wasn’t Miles, either.” Hobie looks up at Miguel, who takes a deep breath. “The Prowler on Earth-666 was Hobart Brown.”

Hobie feels like he just got hit with a pound of bricks. This is too much for him to process in one night. “I… what?”

“You just killed yourself.” Hobie shakes his head. “I–”

“He sounded familiar because he was you. Just without the English accent,” Miguel says. “Did (Y/n) know?” he asks, less concerned with the fact that he technically killed himself, and more concerned with the fact that he did all of those things to you. Miguel shakes his head no. “They didn’t. They were never supposed to know,” Miguel affirms, and Hobie lets out a shaky breath. He unclenches the fists he didn’t realize he formed. He feels the indents his nails made on his palms, but he doesn’t care. He was genuinely scared for a minute there. How would you react towards him if you know he was the one torturing you for so long? He nods. “Good.”

“There’s something else I need to tell you, Hobie,” Miguel says, and Hobie looks at him. “You changed a canon event. So far, the world seems stable… but you’re not going to like what will happen next,” Miguel says, turning away from him. Hobie jumps up to the platform Miguel is standing on. “Will (Y/n) be okay?” he sounds a little too frantic, and Miguel glances over at him. “You care too much for them.”

“Bollocks,” Hobie retorts, and Miguel sighs. “I knew you would like them,” he mumbles before pulling up information on your Earth onto the monitors. Hobie sees the Venom symbiote pop up and frowns. You haven’t had to deal with that yet. “The Venom symbiote was meant to bond to Hobart Brown on (Y/n)’s Earth. Now, the symbiote is going to bond to (Y/n), which is bad. This symbiote is unlike the other Venoms. It’s angrier. Deadlier. He would have been the worst enemy they ever had to face. I’ve been mentoring them as a secret way to help them train to be able to defeat him because… well…”

“Cause what?”

“Hobie Brown with the Venom symbiote would have been unstoppable,” Miguel says, turning to Hobie and delivering information that makes a chill run down his spine.

“Hobart Brown was meant to kill (Y/n) (L/n).”

What are some of your headcanons for his FBI career, do you have any?

these aren't headcanons mostly, but i spent a lot of time trying to make sense of hotch's backstory because it's a bit of a mess. criminal minds writers aren't serious people and they just be saying things either it fits or not to the timeline they themselves created. i hate them. i hope they spend their whole lives stepping on legos. anyway.

i've talked about this already, but i don't think aaron was a gifted sports kid, i think he was good enough, which means i also think physically he was just that, good enough. being in a physically challenging career wasn't his main plan anyway.

so, aside from fights during his school years and lifting a bit of weight and doing a bit of cardio, before the academy, he wasn't the most prepared guy for the job.

but he's goddamn determined, so from the moment he applied he started working out, we've seen him in action, and that's him as a middle aged man, so he went from this geeky bookworm boy to someone who worked out every single day so he wouldn't be a liability on the field.

as for gun handling, i think that was never difficult to him, his father probably had guns at home and taught him how to shoot and properly handle them. as a prosecutor i'm sure he already had guns in his home for protection.

his efforts in the academy got him a spot in the crisis negotiation unit, first as a swat operator, he's a prolific sniper. then as a profiler as his intentions were always set to be the one who finds and catches the criminals, as we know, the bau is an elite unit, so before being promoted and transferred, he want from the cnu to the seattle field office as a profiler and worked two years there.

these experiences gave him enough expertise to teach crisis negotiation, and then he was transferred to the bau as profiler. in 1998 he was promoted to lead profiler, his first case was the reaper, as we already know.

we don't have a fucking clue of when, but he was also communications director for a time, i like to believe it was somewhere between 2002-2005.

in 2005 he was promoted as unit chief in gideon's absence, but kept this title even when gideon came back.

aaron is focused, he is determined and he is honest. that should be good, but actually that makes him target of many people who see his drive as a threat to their careers, so he is used to having to deal with higher ups trying to step on his toes and swipe the rug out off his feet.

if the godforsaken producers of this show weren't a fucking JOKE (jeff davis when i fucking GET YOU) i'm sure there would have been more conflicts of that sort, because the position for fbi director is not out of reach for him, if he wanted that, he could definitely be up for the task easily.

but, i like to think he wouldn't want it. it's better pay, better hours and he would be able to make important decisions, but he would be out of the field and out of the bau, i don't think he would be able to do it. he loves the bau, being a profiler, catching serial killers, way too much. it's his passion and his purgatory.

and to quote him: "why would i ever leave the bau?"

Hi.

Your experience as a Jikookers is the same as the experience of Taekookers. Extreme shippers fighting and having meltdowns on the TL make a lot of people equate the unit name with these behaviors.

Sadly the first thought that came to my mind when Jimin mentioned JK is that tkk would make a scene about it. Instead of just feeling relief they are doing well, or just comfort we're getting news, I felt dread. And the worst is I was right.

I'm really struggling with the state of the fandom now, especially twitter fandom. People say you just have to curate your online experience and most sane armys are just taking a break from SNS and everything will get better once the guys start coming back from MS. I'm not this optimistic.

I've been thinking finding fellow ARMY irl could be better. But there's still a good chance to meet someone you would block straight away online.

I'm not a very social person. I used to come online to find people remisniscing, celebrating, sharing.. There's always been hating but now it feels like it's only hating (and comparing numbers). There was a clear shift from COVID on. It's not just solo endeavors and MS. You said it, how the way to handle things has changed.

I don't know how to fend off all the negativity any more than I know how to casually meet ARMY offline. I dream of an ARMY community manager, of a campaign about mental heal, abusive relationships (how many think they know better than the members what's good for them and think they are actually showing love and support when they are just being abusive), how to make the parasocial relationship a positive thing, etc.... A lot of these people who make ARMY spaces unbreathable actually need help.

Hi Anon! I'm sorry you feel this way. I feel like some Army experienced feelings of anger or betrayal since the Festa Dinner, which has made them unfairly lash out on the members. Some cannot cope that we lost an aspect of control, but this has always been the members decision and we have to accept that with respect. As I said in my other post, the heart of Army is massively the same. Just this morning I saw a Tweet about the Purple Ocean from Muster and it reminded me of the Flashlight project during PTD. There will ALWAYS be discourse online. That is the reason for it's existence. I am in other fandoms and they all suffer from the same issues since Covid and Elon. However, for every "bad" person or post, there are plenty of good ones out there. If you look for then. I mentioned to someone yesterday that it's like when people always leave awful reviews for a bad meal, but very rarely mention when they have a good meal. That's why I always try to find a balance. Both Jimin and Namjoon have told us over the years to not engage with negativity and I have always taken those words to heart. Things in online spaces have changed, but I guess I am more of a fighter and optimist. For each negative post I see, I spend more time posting/repositing posts that spread positivity or praise. I see no point in boosting some random February 2024 account sprewing hate. We have to be responsbile or our own spaces and I DO think things will improve once Jin returns. There's still that shared joy and excitement whenever a member posts or content comes out. It's just that the negative is less contained than it used to be. As for events offline. My first event was for a local screening of one of the concerts. I then attended a few events for members Birthday's. With the HYYH anniversay coming up, maybe you could look into seeing if there's any events for it? It's also Sope's Birthday soon and I plan to go to events for each of their Birthday's, so that could also be an option. However, if you dont' feel comfortable going in person, then that is perfectly acceptable. I'm sure there will be no judgement! We all have our own ways. For example, I always buy a mini cake for each members' Birthday haha. Though I had some negative experiences offline, there have been some really good ones. That's just how things are and then you can take the steps to protect yourself afterwards. I'm actually going to another event with the same group I mentioned before. If it doesn't go well, then I will just leave. If things have improved, then I will stay and enjoy myself. I understand it's not easy though, especially when we have certain expectations. first of all, my favourite thing ever, TEX AND CHURCH FINALLY GOT THE ENDING THEY DESERVED! i actually screamed when caboose brought back tex instead of church actually, and the whole thing also about her being brought back in their memory instead of the directors? their memory of her always kicking their ass and winning and being strong and brave and oaisjdgoasg all of that? screaming actually screaming. and her and church walking away in the memory unit thingy into the distance and jsiogjasdgiojadsgiosdg they got their happy ending that i've always wanted for them and that makes me very happy.

also, the va for caboose, let's talk about him rq. ofc it sounded wrong to me, he wasn't the og caboose, it wasn't joel, but the guy tried his best and i absolutely love that for him. i think he did a pretty good job, especially since the poor guy had 17 fuckin seasons of iconic caboose to live up to so ofc no one is going to actually live up to that. he did pretty damn good and if i see any hate about him i will cry thank you.

now, onto things that i enjoyed kinda but also were just oaijdsgioasdjg ahhhh y'know?

first, sarge's death. ouch. owie ouch ouchies ow. that shit hurt man. i think they did it pretty well though, and the fact that he died protecting a blue?! gave simmons his shotgun and told him he was proud of him?! told grif he never gave up on him even when grif himself had?! oasjdgisadjgs. he's their dad, their dad fr. it broke my fucking heart, but i like how it was handled, i was decently satisfied with it. i like how they buried him back in blood gulch, where it all started. it felt really fitting.

also, the fact that they kept church dead. tbh i'm glad they did. i was thinking with their whole talking about memories around the campfire, like if it were to bring back church, tbh i wouldn't have liked it. his death in 13 wouldn't have been as meaningful, as impactful. plus, them bringing back tex who we haven't really seen since season 10? iconic i loved it they brought my wife back and i loved every fuckin second of it.

next, something i have big big big thoughts on that i don't know how to organise: wash's ptsd and everything. first off, finding out he'd been hallucinating doc the entire time?! fucking OWCHIES :( and like at the end when lina was talking to him and reminding him that these things weren't his fault and how it came across in visions of his other beloved freelancers showing up and talking to him? screaming actually. watching wash and his mental state and how everything unfolded hit particularly close to home for me, as a ptsd-havin bitch myself ^^; the way he was treated like he was fuckin crazy in the hospital made me sick to my stomach, and then finding out oh hey wait he actually is a bit crazy he's hallucinating doc because he blames himself for his death i'm like welp okay that's oaisdjgosadjgoisgj. just seeing how they handled that reminded me so much of things i've gone through myself, and idk if i'd say it was handled well or not but it was certainly handled in a way that's for sure ^^; might just be some of my internal biases because topics like this make me feel sick for personal reasons ofc, but uh yeehaw lol yeehaw.

also, meta tucker. screaming. the flashes of him pulling through while being controlled and him like apologizing to caboose and caboose being like 'i've already forgiven you for whatever you'll do' AOIGSDAIG YEOWZERS :( my brain hurts man. and with sigma too, sadly it wasn't elijah wood, but miles luna did a phenomenal job imo, it really sounded like og sigma to me and had me convinced they got elijah for the final season up until i saw the credits lol. also, the fact that there was such a lack of meta/tucker and wash interactions??? heresy. blasphemy. illegal. i will be beating my head against the wall thank you.

ALSO. LACK OF DONUT WAS FUCKING TRAGIC. but, ADMIRAL donut? proud of our boy for working through the ranks! but i'm so upset we didn't get to see him other than a simmons flashback/vision of him in a fuckin cheerleader outfit - which honestly? iconic. at least we got something.

and the last thought of the post, fuckin grimmons. grif and simmons. i'm gonna put my head through the wall osaidjgsioadjgsdiogjsdag. the way that the first thing simmons did as red team leader was set grif free because he's always known about how much he wanted to leave, 'if you love something let it go' or whatever oiasdgjdsoiagjsd. grif deciding to stay for the fight before heading out, their goodbyes and grif inviting him to visit even though he knows it's probably never going to happen but he had to try anyways, aiojsdgoisjgoisdjg i'm screaming crying throwing up actually. they should've made out though so rip for that missed opportunity :( i enjoyed the moments we got but i also wish we got more if that makes sense, y'know?

I think I might have. It's been a while, though.

Leone is the type to develop a crush on someone he works with and somehow not see them as the devil they are. If you're also a mafioso, you're gonna be at least a little bit of a dick, but Leone just doesn't see it. Look at the others- Narancia? Jumped some guy for a misunderstanding, set an entire street on fire to kill one man. Pannacotta? Stabbed his friend for a minor transgression. Guido? Too many instances to really pick one- they're mean, they're in a gang. But, you? What are you doing here? He idolizes his darling very early on in the relationship- but he wouldn't be caught dead expressing that. You're an angel in this shithole- how the hell did you end up here with him?

You don't even have to be that nice- or, really, nice at all. Leone will always think of his darling in a very particular way: you're the best and he's the worst. You don't deserve this, you don't deserve to be here doing the same, shitty work that he does. It irks him, it keeps him up at night. He hates when he sees your schedule is busy- especially if it's busier than his.

But Leone only bitches about it mentally. He's not going to voice that to someone he's still hiding his stand from- nor will he be offering you any freebies just because you're a little attractive, to some, maybe. Definitely not to him.

If you're on his team he's the coldest. He glances at you 'sparingly' if you're on a different unit- maybe the special unit, or the hitman unit, or something under Polpo. There's many branches of Passione, but it's very likely you outrank him. Team Bucciarati is notoriously on the lower end, forever under Polpo's heel. They should be much higher, Bruno is a recognized figure, but Polpo just won't let them go. Leone's not about to hit on anyone that outranks him- one, it looks awful, two, he has way too much shame. Why would you want someone like him if you're in such a position?

He just kind of stares longingly and huffs when you notice. It's more of a glare, but he digs his own nails into his palms when you actually look back. Glare, glance, give him a confused look, absolutely anything will make his week.

You can do whatever you want with the other members. It's none of his business, especially if you're not even on his team. Sure, yeah, get all buddy-buddy with somebody that outranks him, whatever. It's none of his business. It's not like he thinks about what you're doing when he can't see you, it's not like he gets urges to check.

If you do have the misfortune of being on Team Bucciarati, firstly, I'm sorry for your loss, and secondly, he acts like you're just another one of the bratty, younger members. He doesn't expect you to do all that well, acts like you're asking for his help constantly (even if it's more of a "can you pass me the water" situation), you're just bothering him. Go play with Guido or Narancia. You know who would be happier to talk to you? Anybody.

Leone isn't the most difficult to work with on certain jobs. He'll scoff when he hears, but he's fairly well behaved. He'll just cross his arms and 'zone out' for the entire ride there- which, he's not driving, since he most definitely took a shot for confidence prior to this. Maybe you can turn the radio on if you're not a fan of rigid silence and "Mm."s?

Sometimes it's fun to just find a cheese strategy, even if that strategy isn't the fastest at dealing damage or what not. "The Immortal" my friend I have bad news for you.

To explain this cheese for people who aren't aware and are wondering why my friends here aren't getting sandblasted to death, "The Immortal" has an interesting AI quirk where the attack he uses is dependent on the tile your unit is on, not whether or not he can hit them. If the enemy is on one of the ranged tiles around the map, he will hit them with his sand blast.

But if they're on a melee tile, he will always use his axe swing. This means that melee units with 0 Block can actually attack him with impunity. This means that Ambusher and Dollkeeper Specialists are at zero risk of dying to him and can freely whittle away at his HP.

There are two risks however: the first is the weather, so it might be a good idea to have a Healing Defender (like Saria) to keep their HP up. I had Thunderstorms and that can kill operators deployed, which will restore 12,000 HP to the boss, which is not great. As long as Saria doesn't damage the boss, she won't be attacked by him too. You might even be able to use her S3 instead of her S2, I haven't tested that yet.

The second is that _one_ of the Ore Guardians will decide to waltz his ass in the middle. We hate this guy. It's not super likely he kills anyone straight out since he'll also be whittled down, but importantly, it's annoying as shit. Once you see him, it's a good idea to block it with either Jaye or Lappland (since Silence turns off the retaliatory Arts damage iirc) and kill it off.

Ambushers:

Ethan: Ethan can actually damage The Immortal with his S2, but he'll only do about 250-360 damage with each swing depending on his Module progress and this is assuming E2 Max Level and Mastery 3. You'll want to use his S1 instead, because The Immortal actually has 0 RES and so the 100 Arts damage per second will be a much higher DPS.

Manticore: Manticore barely misses the 1000 DEF mark for her normal attacks to do damage, so it's best to use her S2 for this stage. She won't contribute all that much to DPS outside of doing a lot of damage to the Core Guardian, so she's not the most useful here.

Kirara: This might actually be one of the best stages for Kirara in the game, which is absolutely hilarious to think about. We've done it. We've finally broken Kirara. I'm not entirely sure whether her S1 or S2 is better, I think her S1 has better overall DPS than her S2, but her S2 boosts her survivability in the stage and she's pretty easy to position for the bonus.

Mizuki: Mizuki is actually the only Ambusher who can deal more than chip damage with his normal attack (only 97 though), but he does so much Arts damage its not really a fair comparison. You can use either his S1 or his S2 on this map, depending on which one you find has better DPS against a lone enemy.

Dollkeeper:

Bena: With Dollkeeper's, their skills don't tend to matter because they pretty much always instantly die. You might be able to get some use out of her S2, but Bena is more important due to the fact that her Substitute deals Arts damage, and a fully upgraded Bena can deal about 800 per attack, which is pretty reasonable.

Kazemaru: With proper timing, Kazemaru might actually be able to deal some damage with S1, but the big draw is the burst damage she gets off of her Substitute being summoned. This being said, she won't contribute that much damage even with her Module since the Substitute does physical damage and is just barely under 1000 ATK. Like Manticore, she's not really needed.

Specter the Unchained: This probably will not be surprising, but she's easily the best Dollkeeper for this bit. While it's highly unlikely that she'll survive to use her skills (even with the help of Gladiia and Skadi) her best one is obviously her S2, and she'll even do pretty good damage with it. Her Substitute is one of the big damage dealers here, as a full rotation will do about 17,000 damage and gradually wear him down. Skadi's Mod Y will also be a big help her for increasing her damage output.

I don't have everyone maxed out, so I can't say if this cheese can kill him within the 5 minutes for the stage. If not, it can get a good idea to supplement with a high damage Operator (they need to deal at least 12,000 damage in order to be worth it).

My last job had lots of deranged personality types working with me, I took extensive notes while I was there and I have to save them for a short story or something (real emeryheads will remember my supervisor who was this mean butch---I nearly wrote hey mamas lesbian but that is a LITTLE unkind---who was always hitting on girls in the office. Well to summarise she ended up hiring her girlfriend and her girlfriend's friend to work with us. This managed to create like a voting bloc in the office against everyone else and the three girls would walk around like The Plastics except if one of them was a tiny butch with tufty hair). The current crop of people I work with are like... Kooky but basically don't hate my guts so I don't mind them, and include:

Current boss, an extremely horny bohemian mum whose major hobbies include belly-dancing, beer-tasting, and xianxia dramas. She is friendly but also likes to take contrarian positions on things to see what I will say. Like she will come up to me and be like, I support Donald Trump for president of the United States because there was no war when he was last in office. And I'll be like okay girl.

Supervisor, extremely neurotic and type A gay guy, he is very sweet, soft spoken and a gamer who loves cats but is always running around stressing and freaking everyone out. Naturally whenever we go to KTV he gets absolutely TRASHED and becomes very irritating. Also has a boyfriend who dresses and looks exactly the same as him, we have glimpsed him at KTV sometimes.

2 Hot Twentysomething Girls (TM). The first Hot Girl is our STEM teacher who has some of the most uncanny, effortless charm I have ever seen. I saw her at parents' night yesterday and was fascinated with her ability to pull people into her orbit. Everyone thinks of her as being "the one with the best English", which is why she has such a good job at this school even though she's more junior, but they don't realise it's literally just charisma. The second Hot Girl is the youngest, can't be more than 20, a bit dim and totally consumed by Xiaohongshu and IG. She is always grooming herself like a cat. She brushes her hair like ten times a day and does a whole teeth brushing and flossing routine everytime she eats anything (which is also rare because she is always on a diet).

+ But the actual reason I started writing this post is that I've just recently developed an inexplicable and vicious crush on my other coworker who is 10+ years older than me and married with two twin boys. Actually it's not THAT inexplicable, when we first met, Hot Girl 1 very accurately observed, "Although she is the oldest one here, she is clearly the cutest out of all of us." . I was also pretty shocked to find myself in the desert after waking up in the morning, but I came across some other idols before meeting you, Hinata-kun.

Kaoru: Yeah. I don’t particularly care but it’s hard to tell whether you’re in the Chuugoku country[*] or the region just by its name.

No wait, “SS” is a national event so it’s obvious it’ll be taking place in Japan, huh.

Well, putting that aside, as you probably know, there are a lot of powerhouse idols among the ones that have been sent to this region.

A lot of the local idols participated in last year’s “SS” and ES has sent some of their powerhouse idols too. Probably as competition.

Hinata: Yeah~...

“UNDEAD” is a powerhouse unit so you guys have a good chance at winning, though. I was crying about it with Yuuta-kun thinking how our luck hit rock bottom.

And here we thought we could produce some pretty good results in “SS” and surprise the public. We even went into the mountains to train~

Kaoru: Why the mountains? Wait, Adonis-kun and Souma-kun also tend to head into the mountains sometimes too, though.

Anyway, all the strong idols I’ve come across have been trying to pick a fight with me.

I thought I could laugh it off and change their mind about it, but they just wouldn’t listen.

12. What's your favorite ship(s)? What's your least favorite ship(s)?

In general my favorite ships that don't include the MC are Stabby (stella x Tabitha) and kaneeka x Reese (in a world where the mc isn't romancing either party)

My favorite ships that include the MC are Andy (my mystical/keen eye MC) x Avery and Raymond (my powerful build/street smart MC) x Kaneeka!

I don't really think that I have any least favorite ships? (Unless you want to include any incest ships- which yeah- I really don't like)

13. What's your favorite non romantic relationship in the game? (Friendship, family, ect)

I love the bond between you and Tabitha, I particularly like it when the MC has a good relationship with Tabitha, but having a strained/tense/negative relationship with Tabitha can be just as interesting!

Pastor Daniel’s whole family unit is also very funny and sweet, Daniel's “firm parenting moment” with tulip is actually hilarious, overhearing janey and tulip’s conversation about the MC at the diner during ep 1 is also hilarious, and Daniel and Janey really seem to love each other a lot, it's so cute!

This is a more “me exclusive” thing but I enjoy the dynamics that all of my MCs have with Wayne, which aren't necessarily positive? None of my MCs really have a good relationship with Wayne, in my eyes they all sort of fall on a spectrum where one end of that spectrum is complete avoidance (Eleanor and Andy) and the other end is very adversarial. (Wesley (although his relationship with Wayne leans slightly positive(?) and Raymond)

Eleanor really hates Wayne, he scares her out and she doesn't want to be anywhere near him, and she basically takes any chance she can to try and run away from him, as she does with any of her problems(to varying levels of success). By the end of episode 4 I think that she's realized that she can't just keep running away from things that scare her and that she really can't run away from Wayne, so she's just resigned herself to hating him in silence.

Andy has (by virtue of always being near Tabitha) had the least amount of interaction with Wayne and that is just fine by them. They don't hate Wayne, Andy doesn't have it in their heart to actively be putting their energy into hating someone, but that doesn't mean that Andy would want to be all budy budy with Wayne (cause they don't). Andy doesn't agree with a lot of the things that Wayne thinks and does, they have fundamentally different values from Wayne so the two don't really mesh that well. Andy doesn't really try to talk with Wayne that much, and doesn't want to.

Wesley is very similar to Andy in his original dealings with Wayne, but Wesley has far much more bite than Andy does, so (like he does with almost anyone that he has a problem with) he isn't afraid of speaking his mind about all of his feelings about Wayne. But Wesley also has a bit of a strange curiosity when it comes to Wayne, like, what is he? Why is he here? Why is he following him? Some random lawyer that (up until his visit to Scarlet Hollow) had never done anything interesting with his life ever? He's like “I want to know this strange man's secrets” “what does he know?” (Wesley and wayne actually tend to have similar mannerisms and thought patterns, if circumstances were different, wesley might actually "get along" with Wayne (in the way that he gets along with anyone who doesn't completely annoy him, which is only somewhat friendly acquaintances at best. Wesley is not a social guy.))

Raymond is well…he's Raymond y'know? He's a pretty commanding presence that (up until now) had rarely found anyone that could match him, let alone utterly surpass him, in anything and now a literal corpse is up and doing all of that and more. So it's safe to say that he's a bit razzled by all of this. (He's never actually encountered a problem that couldn't just be solved by punching before so yeah- he's pretty razzled up by all of this) He also doesn't appreciate how secretive Wayne's being about everything? Like, Raymond knows when someone's holding out on him- and Wayne clearly knows more than he's letting on. Ray doesn't like people pulling on his chain and he would much rather that they be open and honest, not purposely holding back because it's “not time yet” or whatever. Up until ep 4, Raymond acts very punchy and fighty towards Wayne. After ep 4 and Raymond's finally had a chance to actually hit Wayne and realizing that he really can't hurt him, he's just a bit tired of it, he'll probably get back to business as usual when he's had rest, but for the few minutes that it took Wayne to walk him back to the estate, Raymond was (kind of) chill with Wayne.

14. Any predictions/theories you have about future episodes?

I think that a lot of my theories about the future episodes are ones that are generally shared with a lot of other people in the fandom. I’ve realized that I don't really have a lot of original thoughts lol.

I think that one of my better thoughts is that Big Betty (Duke and Bo’s pumpkin) is probably some kind of plant monster and that Julius (probably) didn't steal her (because how does one man carry off a 2,000 lb pumpkin by himself? Julius is clearly stated as being a very weak fellow, and an MC with PB can even mention how whoever managed to make off with a 2,000 lb pumpkin must've been super strong- which clearly doesn't match up with Julius.)

A more, slightly out there(?), thought that I have is that maybe the missing Alexandra Scarlet (pretty sure that's her name?) got taken by the “rats” infecting the church for some purpose or reason, and now that she can't do whatever they want, they want another kid who can, which is why they keep trying to temp tulip out into the forest (probably to where the “rats” live/gather).

(A situation that is very similar to the book “Took: a ghost story”, in which a witch encourages little girls to abandon their families in order to go and “live with her” in the woods (aka: being her maid/servant). The witch keeps the girl for fifty years, and then she lets the girl go and finds another one that's "new" and can work better/harder)

Don't know how probable this little theory is, but yeah!

19. What is/are your favorite scene(s) in the game?

As stated before, I love the whole haunting scene at Oscars house in episode 3! The whole thing is so creepy and cool!

Tabitha giving up her years to the ghost instead of you if you have a close enough bond with her is just great, it's both really sad and really sweet that she's willing to do that for you if you're close enough with her.

I also love the hangouts with the love interests (+Tabitha) in episode 3 as well! My favorite ones out of them are kaneeka's, Avery’s, and Tabitha's!

The romance lock in-s with kaneeka and Stella are really nice as well, I find them very cute!

I also love the little ice cream social that you have with Tabitha at the end of episode 4! It's just so sweet to see Tabitha and the MC getting along and being friends!!

Which also reminds me , I have seen some posts where when someone says smth along the lines of " he's a nice guy" , some other person goes "He's his father's son afterall. You'll see how nice he is . ) I honestly feel personally offended . I know there are bound to be haters but like it's still sad .

I do think a lot of the reasons he's hated for can be traced back to his father somehow .

I personally started liking Max long before I knew anything about his father and their relationship - he was the underdog, a bratty little shit that everyone was badmouthing from the get-go, and he was chaos personified. And I love a chaotic man. That’s what drew me to him, so his relationship with his father played no part for me.

Now, that being said, I have also been traumatized by my own father, so whether or not there was something subconscious trauma-related bonding that also drew me to him, I have no idea. It very well might be the case, but I remember when I started liking Max clear as day, and I did so because so many people hated him. And, well, I've always liked an underdog, and the more chaotic the man, the more appeal he has to me.

Whether that’s true for the majority of Max girlies, I have no idea. I know plenty of Max girlies with excellent relationship with their fathers, so either way it definitely doesn’t apply to everyone.

I think a lot of people started disliking Max when he made it into F1 at the age of 17 because he was a bratty little shit. Which of course he was — he was a literal child making it into the biggest motorsport in the world. Anyone would be a bratty, insufferable little prick in his position at that age. But, unlike a lot of his haters, Max actually grew out of being a bratty little shit, and he is well-known in F1 as one of the nicest people on the grid, which carries a hell of a lot more meaning than the opinions of people who hate him, either because he was an insufferable kid, or simply because he's better than their favorite drivers.

Thanks for posting the previous question. I'm glad the conversation was there about it too. Maybe he has no choice but to be friends with this guy. He doesn't have a lot of power in the club. Especially now. And truth be told, everyone else around him is also doing the same, but is just not asked about it. How this situation is different (from the other where he is more open about rights etc) is that his social standing within the club could be affected, or his career, more so when the club has taken the same stance in promoting Boateng's fitness and quality. Leon's response particularly, seems to parallel that same narrative, so it might be media-trained. On the other hand, his views on general opinions have nothing to do with the club, and they cannot hold that against him, even if they disagree. Regardless. as disgusting as the allegations are, I don't think Leon is a person who would condone that type of behaviour. and I don't think it undermines the amount of work he's done for the world. and his own personal actions have been nothing but role-model-like. he made a very big mistake with his words here. but I don't think he's a bad person.

Whether you post this or not, just know it's okay to still be a fan of Leon for all that he's shown to be right now, and Bayern as well, if it brings you joy and comfort.

You make very good points. Considering Leon’s performances last season, I do think he suffered a loss of favor within the club, at least to some extent. He’s slowly but surely gaining that power and influence back this season, but since favor is a fickle thing, perhaps he felt he couldn’t afford to swim against the current on this particular topic. It’s an interesting theory.

I’m glad you brought up the club’s position on Boateng as well. I mean, every time the media came knocking, they always cast him in a positive light, previous actions be damned. I think that influenced Leon’s responses. How could it not? It’s far from the same situation, but we saw what happened when Manu called out Bayern’s sacking of Toni Topalović; his career and standing within the club hung in the balance. Leon’s a smart guy; perhaps he thought it better not to risk that, especially when he was just starting to regain the club’s trust. For all we know, Leon may hold entirely different views on the matter, but he had to stick with a media-trained response in order to present a united front with the club, especially when his teammates were doing the same.

The more I’ve been thinking about this situation, the more I agree with you. I have to think that given everything that Leon stands for, he wouldn’t condone abuse and assault. He’s never struck me as that type of person, given how outspoken he normally is on matters such as this one. I think that’s what makes his statements so difficult to digest; they contrast so heavily with how we’ve all come to see him. A poor choice of words on the spot doesn’t necessarily make a bad person—at least, I don’t think it does in this case. It definitely doesn’t change all the good that’s stemmed from his social and political activism, and it doesn’t detract from everything he’s done in the community. There’s just no way. He’s still the same person that takes time for his fans whenever he can.

I don’t know if you knew this or not when you sent me this ask, but these are precisely the words I needed to hear right now. As silly as it might sound, I’ve been struggling tremendously with whether or not I want to continue posting Leon content. I just didn’t want to act like nothing happened and like I agree with his take on Boateng. But I think (or at least I hope) I’ve made that clear, and as disappointed as I am in him, at the end of the day, he’s still the guy that makes me smile the most—who’s still a (sometimes) overly serious little goofball. I had watched Velma (for free cause I aint helping them get views) and theres this trend I hate. That's when they make the white people idiots & always insult them. I'm black and I find that offensive. There's a way to make fun of everybody in a smart way (In Living Color is a great example) but these modern shows are just hateful or not funny or both. They just want to trigger ppl without any kind of positive message.

And I can't be mad at only the ppl who write the shows. The companies who allow it and advertisement and ones who distribute it are at fault too. And when you look at the history of propaganda, I'm pretty sure this is intentional. The United States makes money off of ravial division. This is why we dont have shows like Weekenders, Statick Shock, Doug, Hey Arnold, Xaolin Showdown, Totally Spies, Darkwing Duck, Recess, El Tigre, 6teen, original Teen Titans, Justice League, Kim Possible, The Proud Family (original not the new one), Jackie Chan Adventures, or other shows like that anymore. Those shows brought too many different ppl together. Racial division is profitable but also useful in controlling the minds of the ignorant. And behind it all is politics. One side complains about this while the other complains about that. Then both sides make a profit while controlling the masses through artificial hate.

I wish we could go back to shows that had positive portrayals of all races & both sexes. A group of friends of different races with both guys and girls just happily hanging out and dealing with everyday struggles and how to overcome them with help from your friends. Cause this modern stuff just makes everyone hate each other.

I want shows like Statick Shock where Virgil finds out that his best friend Richie has a racist dad & it upsets Richie so much that he runs away from home. And the dads of both have to work together to find Richie as Richie's dad learns he is misjudging others. And episodes later, Richie's dad is friendly with Virgil and his dad.

Or how in Teen Titans, Starfire was being called a troq by a "heroic" racist. Then Cyborg thinks its just a nickname and calls Starfire that and she gets upset. Then after Cyborg finds out, he says he can relate because he's half cyborg (subtext is that he can relate because he's black). Then all of her friends stand by her and give the cold shoulder to that guy who called her that slur. They weren't gonna put up with that.

Or even in oG SpongeBob when they say Sandy can't do stuff they can because she's a squirrel while they say "sea creatures rule!" That episodes teaches a lesson about both racism and sexism. Sandy is the only girl against a group of guys who thing they are better. Sandy is from a different group of people against a group of water people who thing they are better. Sandy thinks she's better too. Then in the end, they give the lesson that nobody is good at everything and they should value the differneces and what the other person is good at as they apologize to each other.

We peaked in the 90's and 2000's. Sadly, I think its all downhill from there now. Not just with TV shows, but with music and everything else. The good things we get nowadays are just leftovers from a better time that didn't over politicize race, sex, gender, religion, and policital leaning as they do now. Respect is lacking. All ppl want to do is trigger someone. What kind of society is that?

Hi, I hope you're doing well, I have a question that I have always wanted to ask you and I will understand if you're not interested in answering it or busy the question is if you're given the chance to rewrite VLD what are the stuff you're going to change and the one you're going to keep the same, and how are you going to make klance happen without feeling forced like what are you going to add and/or remove to make the relationship feel natural?

Oh man what a cool question! (And I hope you're doing well, too).

To keep this post from becoming a literal essay, I'm going to stick with three of each.

So here's what I would change:

I would choose a base focus for the story, and have it either be about war or about space exploration (or one leading into the other).

I would take the time to establish the team as both a team, but also as friends.

I would amp up the consequences.

And here's what I would keep the same (and I know this might be controversial, but –)

The Lion switch.

Lance's crush on Allura in the beginning.

Lance's death and Keith's almost sacrifice.

Going back to the things I would change: I think one of the things the actual canon VLD would have benefited from was making it a show more about space exploration as opposed to war. War didn't really fit the tone of the show, overall, and I know it was aimed at a younger audience initially but I don't think they were doing anyone any favors by downplaying the atrocities of war and oppression.

This ties into addition #3, because war has consequences. Teenagers risking their lives has consequences. Teenagers being ripped away from their families and their home planet to fight a war they know nothing about has consequences. One of those teenagers finding out he has fucking alien DNA, and happens to be a hybrid of the enemy he's been told to hate – yeah that has consequences, too. One of those teenagers feeling isolated from the rest of the team and being talked down to most of the time, feeding into his already existing insecurities about not being good enough also has consequences.

And the thing I honestly thing we were denied the most in VLD was the fact that the Voltron Paladins were supposed to be the strongest, most efficient, most effective team in the universe; the team that shared one mind and worked so well together that they could seamlessly pilot a single robotic unit. And I feel that was not conveyed in canon. In fact, toward the end, the team felt very scattered and clique – just like 5 people doing their own thing and sometimes coming together to fight the bad guys. If I changed anything about this it would be getting them to the point where they really fit into the "found family" trope; that they had each others backs in life, not just in battle, and they formed an actual bond that no one else could possibly understand.

For the things I would keep the same – and bear with me, here, lol – the lion switch had so much potential. I would have kept the base of this and run with it. Keith being made to take the position he never wanted for reasons he hated – but moving it into a plot of the team having to re-learn how to work together. Having the team actually work together to help each other out, and having Keith be more of a "figurehead" leader rather than someone who had to call all the shots. It would have been a wonderful way to make the team stronger, while giving Keith an arc of learning how to rely on others. And it would have shown the other Paladins how valuable they were as a part of the whole.

I would have kept Lance's crush on Allura as a base for building a strong friendship between them. Because it would have been an amazing arc if Lance started the way he did – needlessly hitting on her, making her annoyed, etc – only to have them sit down one day and actually have a conversation that would have lead to them realizing they worked better as friends.

Lance's death and Keith's sacrifice are pretty obvious things for me to keep for anyone who has read literally anything I've ever created (my angst has angst lol). However, of course, these two instances would not have been brushed aside and forgotten.

I realize that I "kept" some things but also ended up changing them, too, buuuuut I'm still going to count it lol!

And as for Klance happening…I think it would have been phenomenal for Lance to have an actual bisexuality-realization arc. They were already on the path of rivals-to-friends in the early season of canon. And I think it would have been an easy thing to continue if Keith had stayed with the team, and Lance had learned to work with him as his right hand man.

(I actually legit believe that in canon Keith either already had a low-key crush on Lance the whole time, or at some point he just fell in love and stayed there.)

So for me, Klance happening would realistically center more around Lance realizing that the whole time he was picking on Keith because he wanted his attention, not because he hated him. That he was Keith's self-proclaimed rival because he wanted Keith to see that he was good enough, not because he wanted to beat his flight simulator scores or whatever. That it was "Lance and Keith, neck and neck" because he just wanted to walk beside him. That he wasn't jealous of Keith for everything he could do – it was a giant, suppressed crush, and he didn't know how to handle it.

Making Klance happen would be as easy as making them work together – making them realize that they, in fact, worked incredibly well together and made a good team (lol). And allowing them to realize that they didn't just work together well as teammates – they just liked being around the other person. And eventually they realized that everything was so, so much better with the other person in their life, and they never wanted to know what life would be like without that person.

The general consensus is that the canon story of VLD had some really amazing set ups, but not a lot of follow through. So that's what I would love to give it, if I ever miraculously had the opportunity to do a rewrite.

Of course I'm sure there are other things I would change, as well as keep the same, but these are the main ones that come to mind. :)
