i REALLY enjoyed dungeon meshi, it has lovely characters and story and worldbuilding - but some of the posts and tweets i saw about it going in, lead me to believe that it had more horror/tragedy elements than it does. While it does have its more serious themes and dark moments, it fits solidly into the fantasy-adventure genre.

just thought I'd put that out there, in case some of yall following me for tma have gotten curious about it

#joos yaps #dungeon meshi #recommended? yes. specifically for fans of darker themes? nah not really #theres some body horror/gore moments but the tone is quite light throughout #also i am sad that we didnt get to know all that much about Falin. and that all the party leaders are men #some posts made kabru/laios out to be like. a ship based on a guy who appeared in only 2 chapters #instead of the guy functionally leading the entire b-plot #which is all annoying because dungeon meshi is rlly good and gloriously succeeds at the story its trying to tell #and didnt set up those expectations within the text- its me interpreting those posts that set up those expectations
