I'm rereading the Hunger Games and I remember when Amandla Stenberg was cast as Rue in the movies and people were so mad bc Katniss said she reminded her of Prim so then she must be white(even tho Katniss and her family aren't white either or at least not fully white in the books), but it's literally in chapter 3 of the first book, page 45 in the copy I have to be exact. "She has dark brown skin and eyes, but other than that, she's very like Prim in size and demeanor." It's so early in the book that other than her skin color and eye color she's much like Prim.

because I've seen some fans of the show accuse artist or even fanarts of being racist just because they decide to draw/portray the Velaryon being white according to the book canon version, despite the fact there is no description of their skin color.

No, they were not. They were white. Corlys, Laena, and Laenor would have been described as such through darker-dark skin color if so, just as Nettles and the Summer Islanders and Missandei all were at one point or another, but they are not.

(The Dornish are not PoCs, they are "spicy whites", [refer to image below of GRRM's reply ato a fan abt race in ASoIaF and adaptions] and THIS POST I made).

Ryan point blank said that he/they made the Valyrians black for the diversity count and that it was an advantage to have it "obvious" Rhaenyra had kids who weren't Laenor's.

GRRM said he wished he could have made the Valyrians darker skinned. Which tells us that they canonically, typically, are not PoCs/Black.

Not all canon Valyrian/descendants are pale-skinned OR white (Nettles, Bellegere Otherys' kids by Aegon IV, Baelor Breakspear [Baelor was not canonically PoC, again, at least he cannot be transferred as the modern def of "poc"]), but the Valyrians are a majority pale-skinned and white in both pre/post Conquest Planetos history.

Of course, it's always possible that some artists choose to ONLY portray bk versions of the Velaryons BECAUSE the bk/orig/canon Velaryons are white...but that doesn't mean ALL artists who refuse to draw HotD characters/actors do so bc they are racist, bc HotD characters =/= to their F&B orig counterparts in terms of characterization or appearance. Sometimes it's because they hate the costumes or simply don't like HotD's story, how they treat actors, etc. Or they simply make so much more F&B/ASOIAF content than the TV adaptations bc they prefer the orig story and characters.

fkaluis on tumblr/fkadaeneyrs on Twitter was one who first made only art based on strictly what existed for Rhaenyra and the others pre-HotD; Rhaenyra especially nearly never is drawn in her HotD costumes...bc HotD really dialed back on her extravagance. But fkaluis has also seemingly decided to do more "merges" of HotD and F&B/ASOIAF but upgrade HotD to resemble more F&B/ASOIAF-familiar imagery with original elements in their work. Laena Velaryon, Rhaena of Pentos, and Baela is Black in many, many of their work, but they never wear the HotD costumes. They also love drawing Black Baela/Rhaena is what their book!selves were described as having worn or imagined given what other canon art shows for Rhaenyra.

See how all the Valyrians/Velaryons/Targs also have purple eyes in his work, while the show doesn't? And Daenaera canonically is described as having skin as pale "as snow":

Of course PoCs and Black people can have "fine" features (stronger nose bridges, thinner lips, etc.), but in Western literature today, as well as for a long time since the late Mid Ages, white people tend to not describe white people's skin unless its to really emphasize their beauty through paleness, describe how it's transitioning to something else through thr flow/nonflow of blood, etc. Everyone else, to make it clear they aren't white, are ALWAYS told to have olive, brown, dark skin...unless they want to say they've (white people who've tanned OR darker skinned or South/Med EU-coded white people) tanned then it gets confusing for PoC/Black readers. Then you'd need other clues like the features and how people in the world treat them, even if it seems innocuous or positive.

Which means people have got to do a little investigating or light inquiry to the artist if they can if they really want to discover that the artists is racist.

Okay I have overlooked this one I noticed just now. I'm going to talk about my growing passion for Ryder during the last eight months.

This one was the very first I took of him back in September, 18, 2022:

When I was taking this shot, I was not satisfied with him at first. I liked his all wearing black style concept I chose for him and I knew he was going to be named 'Ryder von Scharfenberg' (his name circled around in my head ever since I defined Vijay's name) but I had a hard time getting used to him. Yes, I had a lot of doubts about him. Here a few more from that shoot:

The main reason why I was uncertain about him at first may have been when I was in the character creator I first had an overall look on mind without a beard. I wanted yellow eyes for him at first (this mod, forth pic) which I did not get to work back then — my knowledge about using mods was all new and lacking, in general adding mods for him was not easy for me (today it's peanuts). This alone made me be a already a little frustrated because I was unable to give him that color bc I was too dumb to get it working.

I intended to use some longer hair with a sidecut at first for him as well and wanted different eye make up for him trying out a mod. It was one of Anrui's Visual Kei Parlor mods (think look 4 and 5). I do love V-kei a lot and for some reason I was picturing Ryder more in a dark V-Kei style at first, which did not work out either — I got the mod working but he looked super strange to me once I made the decision of his facial parts, so I decided to look for another hair mod and found Kala's Liam hair, that made him overall look more appealing.

Yet I was still not satisfied — so, I deleted the make up mod and went for complete vanilla eyebrows and make up. Lastly I added his eye cyberware (also vanilla) and decided for a beard. Once I gave him his beard I was even more content with him (I was used to have a beard bc of Vijay having one as well). And since that eye mod didn't work either I put back in the ones I used for Vijay and decided for those white glowing circles instead.

That is how Ry came to life how he looks now. Only thing I changed for him afterward was giving him another vanilla body skin (he's the only one without unique V rig), removing the 'stickers' via Halk's Sticker Yeeter mod from his mantis arms and added his sharky teeth by Anrui and a while later some pointy nails as well.

Then I went on taking pics and he still felt super strange to me. I explain it to myself that way: Ryder is the entire opposite of Vijay. V being all cute and smiling and then suddenly there was this dark themed dude I made a German looking at me so judgingly like I do too, I couldn't really cope with.

The result were some of those pics I still do like but would do them differently today (e.g. other FOV and lights + less saturated):

The more photos I took of him, and the more I developed him via tumblr asks and talking with others about him the more he grew onto me. It got so far that he was suddenly liked more than Vijay and literally stole the show (which made me a bit sad as well bc I thought V should receive the same love as Ry did).

Next big thing I started liking him more were the Konpeki Plaza pics I took in front of the red light. This was the time I started writing out Ry's backstory. It was also the first time I made him smile — ever since then I couldn't get out that smile of my head. When I look at him sometimes he's like a total 'Lausbub' to me. About to make some prank. I can't describe it. He suddenly gave off some vibe I felt that was fitting so damn good to him even though he's that dark guy who can stare so frightening at ya with his gaze that blood could freeze in your veins.

I just wanna smooch him asdxfcgvbhj is sometimes all I can think.

At this point he must have finally persuaded me. I love him to every tiny pixel and it's gotten worse since I wrote down his first two backstory parts. Hell, it got so worse I created another char just so he has someone he can love as well because it made me sad he was so lonely for half a year. Yes, Ry was the reason I created Thyjs. I still can't believe it. Thyjs would probably never exist if Ry did not grew so much onto me. Jeeez. So if you love Thyjs: thank Ryder for existing!

Literally every shot I did with him turned out better and better. Ryder for me is the most photogenic of all my four boys. I love when he's angry and bares his teeth, I love it even more when he gives a warm smile or any other stupid face he makes. everything suits him! (with Vijay, Jaysen and Thyjs it does not work that good).

I swear every new pic I take of him, it's like he plays more and more with the camera. Like he's gotten used to someone taking pics of him at some point — some kind of a warm-up. It truly feels like when I was taking pics of someone else in a cosplay, we didn't know each other, met at the next con, I took pics again, we somehow got mutuals and ended up taking more pics, and all was suddenly easy going. That is how it is with Ry each time.

I mean, these are my latest shots of him:

The beauty that radiates out of him and the way he looks into the camera (or not) has me marveling at him. I know it is me doing his posing, chosing his expression and where he should look at. Believe me, literally 20% of my pics I take are planned. 80% of the time it is just me wanting to take pretty blorbo pics not thinking about anything. I set Ry in pose and he magically looks at me like this. All I need to do is move the camera around him, maybe adjust the direction he should look at and that's it.

Let's start with Childe! Its the most resent design released by mod Anenome which I Did alter a tiny bit for my brain thoughts. I based the colors off of their drawing but obv it wasn't perfect. I tried to make the tail get lighter in color but I'm not sure if you can really see it all that well lmao. But!! headcannon time!! for Childe as a hybrid I think he's got cold scales like ice wings but like only barely, but it fucks up with his fire, so instead of being able to make flames the closest he can get is like smoke. So mostly it's an intimidation thing, but even if the smoke is Pretty Hot it doesn't do nearly as much damage as fire. Also! about his gauntlet; it was supposed to be black but I forgot to paint part of it and I had already cleaned my desk and put all my stuff away so I just used a silver colored pencil. It is shiny tho!

Next up! Albedo! He was actually the one i drew last, and it was kind of hard to figure out what little bobble from his og clothes to add. (like how childe has the shoulder cauldron and earring) His main visual characteristics (not lore) to me are his hair, his big boots, and his big Ole coat. None of which dragons really Wear. In the end I gave him his little drawing clipboard and the throat diamond. Also, I think we was probably made with animus magic, and studies it. What happened to his tail? I have no idea, but it probably has something to do with never wanting to hide his imperfections. For the bracelet from Klee, I couldn't decide whether it would be a peice of scrap metal she shaped for him, or a some fireproof fabric, but in the end I never had to decide because you can't see it LMAO. pick your favorite ;)

Now Ganyu! Her little blurb is going to be a bit short, mostly bc she was pretty straight forward to draw and I don't know her well enough to have any headcannons haha. Because I didn't color my sketch of her I couldn't do any horn details to make it look more like Ganyu. I had a similar problem to albedos design, because her notable design thing is just her horns. The bell and the rope on her vision were easy to add as accessories but I'm not sure if they really scream Ganyu.

Zhongli is next! I wanted to give him a nightwing scale pattern but a mudwing body shape to look majestic while giving him little glowing bits thst glow amber. I gave him the shiny scale by the eye to imitate his eyeshadow, and I think he has the power of mind reading but is like, sick of it. So the black part of his earing is the rock that blocks nightwing powers (I can't remember if it has an official name lol) I'm unsure about Anenome's world building for their designs but my thoughts on Archons are either that they are animus for each kingdom and they get their powers how Qibli did from enchanted artifacts (the nosis, the spell would be "whoever holds this gets animus powers" or something) or archons are just leaders, where its no longer a queen only world (or zhongli and venti are just queens, i think they can do it) If the archons are just leaders than animus dragons could be in Khaenri'ah, where they're are killed or cursed by the other dragons for their hubris. OR Celestia is the animus dragons. and how do the Pantala dragons fit in? I have no idea. I'm rambling. this au lives in my head rent free.

Okay last but not least Klee! I added her hat first because she needs it. then I wanted to do her backpack but I hit my first dilemma: dragons don't really wear things on their backs. It inhibits their ability to fly properly. But Klee's comically large backpack is a huge part of her charm for me, so I wanted to add it. I decided on big ole saddle bag type things on her haunches. Okay so, elephant in the room, if you've seen the wings-of-impact post about Kler then you know, she has fire scales! So how can she wear clothes? Well I actually just forgot, but I've decided that Tevat! Pyrrhia is actually cooler and sexier and has fireproof stuff for our resident arsonist. For headcannons, I think she has an unhealthy obsession with those cactus bombs and has to constantly be reminded that she Cannot touch them. She's been trying to make her own bombs with limited success, on account of melting the ingredients and not being allowed near gunpowder.

Just to any mods in general: When designing a character do you go through many design changes before settling on a final design?

- horror's monster form design was a Lot different from how it was back then (never posted it publicly tho) . biggest difference was that he had eyes and a nose !!! an also chains on his wrists an ankles

- tyrant had a Lot mor scars , altho they were simplified 4 convenience sake . him being blind in one eye was ALSO not a thing originally ! ended up adding it bc ,,,, idk lol thought it looked neat

- i jus made teen look mor liek a ,,,, well a Teenager . fuckers sixteen now he can b a little edgy as a treat <3 also unrelated but fun fact he has three parents ! i forgot 2 include one of them when teen reveals who stars parents r whoops

usually when i have an idea for character design i make a few sketches on paper to see what i like. ive usually talked about personality, characteristics, backstory etc beforehand so i have a vague idea of what i want it to look like!

-OWA's design changed a lot, more specifically his outfit and its colors. He used to wear a jacket until I decided that he probably wouldn't enjoy the restrictive movement that comes w it, and also drawing his scars seems cooler to me than just a normal jacket.

-Burnt Toast was going to originally be humanoid before the final design! He was going to have only one eye and a lower jaw, and he would wear a mask around people he didn't trust. After changing his story slightly, he ended up being the giant time noodle seen today :]

-Lizard RHM was actually very tricky at first. I knew I wanted him to be a lizard, but it was very difficult to decide how humanoid he would be, what his color scheme would be, what kind of lizard he would resemble, etc. Orange and spikey stuck out to me the most! im a sucker for orange. i love orangh

i kind of just accidentally make design changes over time and go "oh i guess this is how i draw them now lol!!"

the most common thing for me to do is to make hair fluffier over time or make the character shorter by accident

I tend to stick fairly closely to the original design (in Alex's case, I have not changed anything about them, but that's just because I got attached to the silly), but more often change the character's personality over time (Alex went from someone barely making ends meet and working paycheck to paycheck to a popular YouTuber because of a joke AU I made).

There's an example and exception contained in one OC of mine, who went over a huge personality overhaul (went from sad to thembo) and also had a lot of his features changed as a result of him actually being given an ethnicity (he didn't have one before), after which I changed his features accordingly.

I'll also change a physical design if the old design has bad memories attached to it (I recently redesigned a character because his outfit was created by my abuser).

Personally, I haven't really changed anything much design wise for my aus (except for my modsona she got a redesign recently). Triple Treat really only had this one rather dark joke I have since tossed aside I guess. However, how an au of mine did go through a bit of a change... Kid!

Initially, Kid was meant to be a rather shy and quiet child. He didn't really talk with people or other kids at his daycare, his only friends being his toys. Mama V also wasn't part of the initial concept, coming from a suggestion that one of the other mods had

As you can tell, Kid has perked up quite a bit. He's a LOT more friendly and cheerful, and a lot more... Peculiar to say the least, with some of the things he's able to so ;)

Trying to get in is a death wish so the place has yet to be discovered. ⭐ Her race is all one sex, and their secondary sex characteristics are more inline with that of a human female ⭐ But if you went there you might not notice bc gender expression is all over the place ⭐ Gendered pronouns are a wild concept to her bc “why is the gender of the person in question at all relevant, that’s like having a different pronoun for each hair color” ⭐ They do, however, use different pronouns depending on what they’re talking about. They have pronouns used for people, a word similar to “it” for inanimate objects, and another pronoun used for animals. ⭐ Like in Spanish, their language has formal and informal versions of the word “you” ⭐ The only reason they design their armor to overly highlight their bodies is because they realized it freaks other people out to fight an “all female” army and they get embarrassed as fuck when they get their asses beat by a bunch of ladies ⭐ Way more lax about nudity than a lot of other planets. She doesn’t like getting into actual relationships, she finds them... messy. So when she finds someone she actually likes she dips. And as a Queen needing to one day provide an heir, this is troublesome. ⭐ Merla had a good relationship with one mother and a bad relationship with the other. One, Arella, was a kind hearted woman, who died due to complications having her 3rd child. Merla calls her “mother.” Her other parent was a cold woman who was only interested in herself. Merla simply refers to her as “that woman” or by her first name, Zenaran. ⭐ Dyla was born prematurely, but even if she was carried to term she still would have been a sickly child. To this day she is a very delicate girl, who Merla will protect at all costs. She stands at 5′5, four inches shorter than what’s average for her age. ⭐ Merla herself had complications relating to her birth, but Dyla got everything she had, then some, and dialed up. ⭐ Unlike Dyla and Merla, Kala had no issues in regards to her health and birth. Not only that, but she hardly resembles her other two sisters. This has led to rumors that perhaps the three sisters don’t all share the same two parents, but that Kala is actually a half sibling to Dyla and Merla. ⭐ For several reasons, Merla refuses to acknowledge these rumors and has made no effort to look into them. ⭐ Dyla has not left the safety of their home palace in many years, and hasn’t been off-planet since her toddler years. ⭐ Kala and Merla were close. Kala expected the very best of her little sister, and always pushed her to succeed. ⭐ Mama Arella was a usually kind woman who lacked a backbone, but it’s rumored that she slept around outside her marriage and Merla, despite not really wanting to think about it, also has suspicions in regards to her mother’s faithfulness. ⭐ Arella was monochromatic, having black hair and grey skin. She looked like an old school cartoon character come to life. ⭐ Zenaran, much like her wife, wasn’t very faithful. However, she didn’t bother to hide it. As the one of royal blood, she was the one of higher status and could pretty much get away with whatever she wanted. Plus being an execution happy tyrant also helped. ⭐ Zenaran had long, dark red hair and blue-grey skin. ⭐ Kala is 2 years older than Merla and bore a striking resemblance to Zenaran, with dark red hair and blue-grey skin. ⭐ Dyla, age 15, is a bright and kind girl, despite her rough start to life. She has white hair and dark grey skin. ⭐ Dyla and Merla have an odd relationship. Merla is, on one hand, very much devoted to her little sister, but on the other, dismissive of the younger girl’s thoughts and wishes. She sees Dyla as fragile and incapable of taking care of herself, thus needing constant supervision and someone to make decisions for her. Dyla, though she understands where her sister is coming from, grows increasingly frustrated. ⭐ There is only one person alive who knows the origin of Merla’s powers, and it’s the woman who Arella had an affair with. ⭐ Dyla also has powers like Merla’s, but aside from the Muses teaching her how to rein them in, she doesn’t really know how to use them.

Muses HCs ⭐ The Muses of Norn weren’t kidnapped, they came with Merla willingly ⭐ She sought them out in hopes of learning to control her telepathy ⭐ Now it’s just. Merla and her squad of pretty girls. Sappho and her gal pals. ⭐ The Muses of Norn are named Thetis, Sura, Ceralean, Penelope, Era, Josephine, and Melody. ⭐ Thetis is 22 and the leader of the muses. She stands at 5′5 with blue hair and eyes, and a light brown complexion. She is associated with leadership and honorable conduct. ⭐ Sura is Thetis’s younger sister, age 21. She has redish-pink hair and blue eyes and is 5′6. Her complexion, like her sister’s, is light brown but dotted with freckles. She’s the muscle in their team. She is associated with sportsmanship, combat, and strength. ⭐ Ceralean, age 21, functions as second in command. She’s the analytical type. She’s ghostly pale, with dark blue eyes and hair, standing at 5′4. She is associated with academia. ⭐ Penelope is the oldest at 25 and is the mother hen of the team. Blonde, brown eyes, stands at 5′11, and has a lightly tanned complexion. She is associated with domestically, crops, and the changing of seasons. ⭐ Era, age 23. She has red-brown hair, dark pink eyes, dark brown skin, and stands at 5′7. She is associated with liberation, freewill, and is considered the protector of young women. ⭐ Josephine is the youngest at 17. She’s a little bratty, but they love her anyway. She has black hair, brown eyes, light brown skin, and stands at 5′2. She is associated with childhood, rebirth, joy, and is considered the protector of children. ⭐ Melody, age 19, is the quiet, soft one. Stands at 5′5 with blonde hair and green eyes, and a fair complexion. She is associated with the fine arts and humility. ⭐ Note that they haven’t aged since the became muses, so they’re all technically much older than their physical age. ⭐ The Muses were once mortal women, who ascended to a sort of deity-type status. ⭐ Although the Muses cannot age or die of old age, they can still be killed. ⭐ Thetis, Sura, and Ceralean have a strong, familial type bond, despite the fact that the 3rd isn’t actually blood related to the first two. Sura and Ceralean butt heads often, and Thetis has to play mediator. ⭐ Sura and Era tend to be a bit more loose canon than the other muses. They get into all kinds of trouble together. ⭐ Ceralean is rather protective of Melody and in turn, Melody has a bit of a crush on her.

Hello friends and welcome to ☆Hateful Nostalgia☆. I was exposed to the mob talker mod WAY too young bc I was an unsupervised child on the internet watching mod showcases and SkyDoesMinecraft. Looking back these sucked, the stories were often bland and the designs were milk toast at best and tits out at worst. So for the sake of procrastinating on working on anything substantial I grabbed the main 6 I remembered and gussied em up. Redesigns, rewrites, better names, all that bullshit. If your interested in better photos, design notes, story details and rambling hit the basement, otherwise here's a line up you should click for better quality.

Also I wrote all this once before already but I deleted it like a dumb bitch. On the night Unus Annus was murdered in front of my eyes no less. Was a rough fuckin night.

The Creeper- Kupa. An explosive pyromaniac with a habit of making empty threats and yelling. She protects what she believes to be her territory with a suicidal passion, but if you manage to get her to cool down and soften up she's pretty sick to hand out with. Hard of hearing, has at least one bout of head trauma at all times, and deathly allergic to cats.

Because the creeper is kinda the og I wanted to reference AT2's design more than the others, but I'm p sure the only thing I actually kept was the red hair and brown gloves. Otherwise I was doing whatever. I really wanted to lean into the explody bit of creepers, so I gave her some bite and dressed her in clothes referenced from Irish railroad workers. This may also be why I keep imaging her with a very heavy Irish or Scottish accent, whichever would be most incomprehensible when angry. Every color but her skin was color picked from one of the references, with some minor alterations for makes my eyes happy reasons.

With Kupa I imagine a story line with her would largely be about her as a character and her development than like an actual adventure narrative like everyone else. She starts off ready to blow up both you and herself in a misguided attempt to defend what she sees as her's and opens up and learns not everyone is out to get her. Lots of time taken to understand her childhood and how she ended up how she is. Very simple, probably the default or tutorial run people would go through.

The Zombie- Bee. The ill husk of a missing explorer suffering from a less than conventional appetite. She wallows in her self imposed loneliness, believing herself to be an irredeemable monster doomed to hurt those around her. What she really needs is a buddy and some clue to who she used to be. Rough voiced, chronically fatigued, and prone to spontaneous combustion in sunlight.

 I definitely consider this one the weakest for design sadly. I imagined Zombies as humans who went into strange caves and caverns and didn't come out for years, only to pop up as completely different people. I just tossed AT2's design. The first thing I did was make her a bit of a genderbent Steve and tinted her green bc Zombies in game are just Steve but green. Tore up her clothes, colored picked the darkest colors I could from the clothes on the in game and boom, Bee. I do vaguely regret not making her eyes pure black but I also still wanted her to be human enough to fit with the other overworld mods.

 Ok so Bee actually has a basic story. When you meet her she's aggressive, but as a warning. She fears the possibility she may hurt somebody so heads for threats immediately. Going back and forth between her cave and village for a while you learn more about the situation with the missing folks who come back and Bee as a person. After a bit you pick her up off her depressed ass and start a nocturnal adventure of refinding your past, adapting to who your becoming, overcoming self destuction, and slow burn babey!!! 

The Skeleton- Ulna. One of the few surviving warriors of a now destroyed kingdom and dead culture. She spends most of her time now traveling alone, hiding in trees and shooting anything see sees as a threat- which is everything- in the face with homemade arrows. Very much suffering from loss of her home and a bad case of lost purpose. A woman of few words, very antisocial, and naturally nocturnal.

 I came in with the Skeleton wanting to make her seem mysterious, so my first thought was immediately a cloak and a mask, but I wanted her face to like be visible so I went with the face paint. I didn't actually know that I wanted to do under there so I went with wraps that are reminiscent of the original outfit but still not tits out bc it's so fucking easy! Gave her a quiver, color picked the cloak and face paint from the in game model and the wraps from AT2'S art. I did like. Subconsciously draw her eyes the way I do Asian characters but I didn't have anything specific in mind so like go nuts with what you think she is.

 Ulna's deal is very much her lack of purpose or home and the entire thing is about finding that again. She's found sitting up in a tree during a storm pointing a bow and arrow into your face. She eventually let's you stick around until the storm is over and theres some bonding into deep night until the rain stops. You ask if she wants to come with on your little travelling sword for hire business, she says sure, sleep schedule shenanigans, backstory angst, and road trip bonding happens and she eventually decides that helping people is her new purpose and you're her new home

The Spider- Park. A young adult experiencing the world for the first time through her tribe's rite of passage. She's really just trying to figure out how to live life outside of the cave she's been stuck in her entire life and aggressively trying to be an independent adult despite not knowing anything about being an independent adult. Its projection. Blind in the daylight, naive and excitable, and taken to refusing help at her own risk.

 Ok so. I don't know who looked at the spider and said "purple haired loli with puffy pants" so I once again yeeted the whole thing, only really keeping the kinda cutesy and childish bits. Spiders are a tribe of humans what live in caves unless they've broken off to live on the surface. Kids are kept inside until they hit a certain milestone, where they come up to explore at night. They're usually small and pale, but are pretty kickass when necessary. Again picked the colors off the in game model, played with the lightest gray for the skin, and bc I couldn't figure out anyway to use the stripes so they're on the patches lol.

 Park's meeting is probably the funniest and most meet cute one here, in that she accidentally drops on top of you from a little cliff drop off. Cue loads of apologies and an explanation about the spider deal and being blind in light. She asks for some help getting around and bam babey friendship and emotional attachment! What follows is kinda a buddy of coming of age story with the obligatory goes home and is miserable scene. Generally it's just about being a scared young adult and having someone to fall back on and why that's important. Also crushes and young people being bad at that.

 The Blaze- Amber. A demonic entity who would let the world burn and the sun die if it meant she'd get her soul back. She's known for being ruthless, taking souls through force instead of making deals like other Blazes. Keeps this forceful nature even once she's become friendly, makes you do dump shit. Territorial, eyes glow and dim with her life, and runs remarkably warm.

 Amber here is the first one I actually did! I was just. Really tired that she was in a bikini. I decided early on I wanted overworld mobs to be human and everyone else was decidedly not, so Blazes are demons who gave up their souls under false pretenses to other Blazes. Because of how little clothes AT2's design wore I had essentially free reign and my thought was immediately to lean on golden knight bc of how Blazes are found protecting fortresses. The gold isn't picked from anything bc I was looser with the colors, but everything else is, and the hair is supposed to represent the smoke. Also the sticks in her hair are blaze rods bc I don't like them just floating around her.

Amber is found in the Nether obviously, protecting a fortress and immediately trying beat your ass and either incinerate you or make you give up your soul. During you prove yourself a p damn good fighter and she makes a deal to show you how Blazes exist and pursade you to give your soul up willingly. Bonding happens and she explains where the souls go and what happened to her. Insert line about how she dug in the sand for her soul until her fingers bleed bc I'm an Arcana freak lol. In general I'd just like her to learn to adapt to who she is now and learning to live life well instead of letting her anger burn her up from the inside out.

 The Enderman- Violet. A confused but sweet young bit of void created by and connected to the Ender Dragon. Her relationship with reality is tenuous at best and abusive at worst, making stable existence rather difficult. She doesn't know a name, age, gender, anything about herself aside from that she likes sweaters. Communicates primarily through psychic connections, docile and sweet, and melts like a witch in water.

 Violet was incredibly easy, so this may be way short. Endermen are decidedly human shaped void from the End with varying sentience. They're direct extensions of the Ender Dragon, and nobody knows how they're made or where they come from, not even they do. Adventurers who escaped The End say they seem scared of it though. Violet in particular is pretty damn new and extraordinary nonconforming, and I tried to show that with her sweater and ponytail. Once again, literally all colors picked. Definitely the simplest but one of my favs.

Violet is the sweetest meet up I think. As your traveling between villages you notice a strange enderman watching you and plant a little flower in front of her. She picks it and you hear a happy little trill come from you and a pretty voice say thank you in your head. Now you have a tall dark teleporting travel buddy! After a little bit of back and forth she tells you in some broken English that the Ender Dragon made her but she doesnt know how, and that it's bad and needs to be killed for the sake of Endermen and that's the new goal. Spoiler they're the corrupted souls of those that died fighting it, with it gone Endermen are free to exist as their own being and do whatever, hurray!

I understand what the creators of She-Ra were trying to do with the transformation, it was just very poorly executed. Like how people make undead characters paler. It isn't as pronounced with Adora bc she's already a blue-eyed blond, but she also changes eye and hair color. The creators were trying to make the transformation golden after the "spirit" of She-Ra, the golden being Adora sees in the beginning of s5 but the eyes seriously didn't make sense. They could have done so much better! (Cont)

I think that once the colors come together they can possibly re-magic Inverse (assuming it ever had magic in the first place) or revive people who have been severed, giving their magic back, since it seems magic is very closely intertwined with magic. Maybe color is magic. 

I also had the theory that every mancer represented a country (though I haven’t read Purple’s book yet so idk too much about them), Prisma used to be the most powerful but then Amadeus got jealous(???) or smthn abt it, and he killed her. Prisma stood for Inverse, and once she died they lost all their magic and color. 

Amadeus instantly regretted it and named the capital city after her (or something) and withdrew into the shadows (bc dramaticness), but then met Petunia when she was hiking in the Amadeus mountains (coincidence? I think not), fell in love, and then Wallis and Harold were born. He gave them the last name Gloom, like GLOOMverse, and it all goes downhill from there. 

Amadeus uses the Candy children to spy on Harold and make sure he doesn’t get too… overwhelmed? bc if he does, bad things could happen, like maybe he could be severed but not savable because it;s not his hat. 

(and less of a theory but what if Harold has time powers? Like space and time? He doesn’t seem to have had any interest in it but that would be cool.)

That’s a very interesting theory ! The Colors people alone, from the way they change the hue of everything they touch, seem to be “magically charged” and radiate that magic all around them, but not in a way they can channel. I think that it is Prisma’s doing, and having them all together in one place could potentially do wonders. Like reviving severed people ! 

And we know of one person trying to gather Colors, something that Yellow finds disturbing…

And who is often seen at the bed side of a severed person…

Let’s not forget this very ominous quote from Indigo that might be foreshadowing. 

However I don’t think you could re-magic Inverse? (Mod Xela: it seems it was never very magic in the first place, and they don’t even want to be magic, after all) Purple tells us the closer you are born to stratoverse, the stronger magician you could be, and Inverse is the farthest continent from stratoverse (or is it?) so people are less likely to become magician when they are born in Inverse. We don’t know why yet though.

Let’s see… We have five mancers and five countries so it could work ! Amaryllis would be Stratoverse (sky), Hyacinth would be ecoverse (seed), Malus maybe Wintraverse (water) ? That leaves Prisma (light) and Amadeus (darkness) with Gloomverse and Inverse. Amadeus’ last name is Gloom, and Prisma or her disappearance might be responsible for Inversians’ lack of colors, so she could stand for Inverse and him for Gloomverse. However Prisma was the leader of Gloomverse, and Inverse didn’t exist at this time, so I don’t know which would be which.

Prisma might have been powerful, but she was still overpowered by Amadeus. I don’t think he went after her out of jealousy, but more out of necessity. Petunia is in the known, she’s helping him even if she “hates doing things this way”. She wouldn’t do this if he had senselessly murdered people out of jealousy. Love is blind, sure, but there are some limits. 

Amadeus is never mentioned anywhere as a part of gloomverse history, and even on the mancers’ depiction he is the least recognizable, hiding in the back. He did withdrew into the shadow, leaving no trace of his intervention. 

Perhaps he’s even older than what we would think, and has been watching humanity from the shadows, only intervening because of something Prisma did.

He won’t let it happen again. So whatever happened was more of a result of his inaction than of his action.

This is a very likely theory ! 

There’s a risk factor surrounding Harold, and it could be related to his sleep.

(Mod Xela: him sleeping badly may be an issue, considering the whole visiting Rylie in her coma thing, but it COULD also just be related to his general distress level.)

As for what that risk is… 

Wallis freaked out and lost control of his magic when he thought Petunia might have died (and definitely felt very guilty about that), and ended up disappearing for two week. 

And this happened with his own magic. I can’t imagine what would happen to Harold if he freaked out like that and lost control of a magic that is not his. 

Also it is very cute how the Lemon kids try to cheer him up or at least distract him in their own weird ways.

(and less of a theory but what if Harold has time powers? Like space and time? He doesn’t seem to have had any interest in it but that would be cool.)

And it could explain the dream sequence, where Harold has his original hair and eye color (and so has his “true” hat and magic), but Wallis doesn’t. (Mod Xela: Although he still has candy and a candy hat... hm.)

Wallis’ clothes are very different from his usual ones (even the colorshifted magic show outfit), and they both act and know stuff that doesn’t align with their “current selves”. 

So what if Harold had time magic and used it to help Rylie wake up earlier ?

What if they’re from a different timeline ? An alternate universe even ? 

They’re obviously not just “made up dream versions”. 

But that’s a mystery for another time !

I’ve always loved really hard and always sprung too quickly on people who would give me the time of day- suppose that’s for being bullied far too much as a kid and teen and being so ashamed of my own looks that I was excited anytime anyone liked me.

You were so different- you are so different. I always talk about how opposite yet similar we are- our appearances aren’t even close to each other. I dye my hair every month, maybe even new colors, I’m covered in body mods and have a ridiculous lil mohawk mullet going on.

And you? Oh you’re like the stars in the sky. Classic and beloved. With your long hair I want to play with oh so much, your beautiful eyes that to this day I cannot pinpoint the color but I know that the storms colors change just as your eyes. Your skin is unmarked by anything of colors or metal.

You shouldn’t be eye catching, but people say that about the stars, don’t they? Forever there, they always lie in the sky over head, yet people are always bewitched with them. Star gazing, sciences based around them, oh how people love the stars and their simple, classic beauty. All the shapes they may make holding personality- some are adopted and adored through a telescope alone and a piece of paper.

Storms, stars, roaring waters, icebergs, blue hour, sunsets- oh how you remind me of so much now. Yet, my heart does not roar nor burn like a raging fire for you, oh no. In the mornings when you have texted me little things at a time and I have a notification of (13) in big words, my heart jerks. Even if you are just talking about your day, it means the world to me.

Oh, even your grumpy little face makes me smile. The frown on your face is so easy to get rid of when I tell you how much I love you vocally, where you cannot stop laughing and my heart cannot stop pounding. Oh, what a mess I must be, trying not to let my breath come out too quick or my voice to stutter, trying to push out anything I can to keep making you laugh.

When you tell me ‘shut up’ with your voice breathless and full of giggles, that’s where I am at my happiest. When you can’t breathe and keep murmuring the same phrase under your breath with more giggles coming out.

“Mondo!” You call out with a bubbly tone before walking down the hallway searching for where he might be.

Your boyfriend, who you are terribly unimpressed with, lays slumped on the couch, tired from the heat. 

Again, you speak, interrupting his decline into sleep. “I made you these!”

He opens one of his eyes. “You got me flowers?”

A bit of heat crosses your cheeks, and you squeeze them harder. “I thought maybe you would like them.”

“Of course I fucking like ‘em,” he says while sitting up. His think fingers brush against yours when he takes them from you. “These are some cute ass flowers.”

Cute ass flowers. How romantic!

Sakura Oogami

She can give you piggy back sides whenever you want and likes to carry you around.

Definitely lets you put flowers in her hair.

Flowers in her hair sounds so cute I am crying.

A part of her actually is jealous of your talent. She wants to know everything about flower patterns, too.

And so she listens every time you explain things.

You pick together the pinkest flowers you can, trying to make it as aesthetically pleasing as you can rather than focusing on intent.

A few white roses find themselves in the batch, too.

The shop around you is cold. The layers of warm clothes aren’t going to help you when you go outside.

But the flowers always need special things that are not convenient for you.

While you contemplate whether or not you can leave clothes here, the bells attached to the door ring out.

A customer! Or maybe Sakura is here to bring you lunch. 

You pop your tiny head towards the main shop, looking left and right. 

She holds a styrofoam box in her hand, holding god knows what meal. 

Horrible for the environment, by the way, how embarrassing.

“Sakura!” You exclaim. And then it surprises you. You got so excited over something as simple as seeing her.

Even in the way your heart pounds at her soft eyes.

“I brought you a meal,” she says. You dip into the back room, and she follows your lead.

But before she comes through the door, you offer her the flowers, almost shoving them into her face. “Flowers!”

“Flowers... What a thoughtful gift, thank you very much.”

She looks nothing more than flattered. Her face usually sports a content look, often a light flush on her face, so seeing her smiling so wide feels special. 

“Oh,” you snap yourself out of your admiring gaze, “and thank you so much for the food!”

Kazuichi Souda

Kazuichi is definitely the sexiest man alive when he’s working on a car. His jumper will be tied around his waist, his hair slicked back.

He never wears his beanie when he’s working. It’s probably the best thing about him.

I just wanted to get that out of my system.

You like to surprise him whenever he’s working. Even though he doesn’t mind the work, you’re sure he’d have a better time being together with you.

The optimism is definitely appreciated.

Especially when it’s easy to scare him. You’re tiny and he gets over concentration. Just sneaking under the car and grabbing his ankle is your favorite.

But for Valentine Day, you didn’t want to be cruel like that. 

So while puffing your cheeks, you hop on downstairs, carrying a bouquet of different shades of yellow flowers. A few pink ones are thrown in for his hair. 

And so you approach him, trying your best to shrink yourself even shorter.

You don’t even know what he’s doing. What do cars need when they get fixed? A new engine? Something about a gas tank? You have no clue.

But whatever it is, it takes a lot of hard work.

And it’s your job to distract him.

You are almost an arms distance away until, and it scares the shit out of you, he immediately turned around screams as loud as he can.

The flowers run too close to slipping from your fingers. God, that was about to be the worst day of your entire life.

Before anger can crack through your demeanor, the sense of humor the both of you have came back. So you started laughing, placing a weary hand to your chest.

You were laughing because you noticed his hands holding a plastic container of sweets. 

“Ah, you nut head!” You call out. “I got you flowers!”

“Why did you get me something? You were supposed to come and scare me!”

Kaito Momota

You hum underneath your breathe while you pick together the best array of flowers you can. Purples and dark colors, just for him.

The moon shines through the school’s window. With the dorms downstairs, every night has became a game of who is going to catch you this time?

Every night you’ve been sneaking up to the garden, trying to raise these flowers just for this occasion.

For the last few months, all you’ve ever wanted was to be with Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars!

And now is your time to impress him! The flowers are all ready!

You wrap them together in green tape. The trembling of your hands makes the job quite difficult. And then the white ribbon to top it all off, but you have to take a deep breath while wrapping it.

There’s no backing out of this.

The fight to continue raged on while you walk upstairs, going up the many of them. It gives you time to think.

To think about how much you love him.

Horribly sickening how much you love him. His positive outlook on life motivates you all the time. If you ever feel like giving up, you just remind yourself that Kaito Momota wouldn’t want you to!

The door to the roof is unlocked, as you assumed. No - as you knew. You’ve watched him climb up here every day when he first interrupted your gardening. “I’ll be up on the roof whenever you need me, I tend to go every night.”

You never forgot about it.

Pulling open the door comes with a click. A pang of anxiety rings through you. But why? Should you really be sneaking if your intention is for him to notice you?

He lays on his jacket, arms behind his head and one of his feet crossed over his knee. And he pipes up when he sees you.

“Bumblebee! It took you long enough.”

The flowers in your hands don’t even cross his mind until after he stands up. There’s a nervous blankness as your expression. 

When he steps closer, he can even see the way your pupils dilate. “Are these flowers for me?”

It feels as if your words are trapped inside your mouth. He’s actually in front of you, towering, and flattered. So you shove the flowers against his chest.

Your body feels like it’s in front of a fire.

“I grew them for you. And I tried to make it look like space, you know? With all the dark colors.” You whisper. 

He smirks with satisfaction that only he could portray. To say he is proud is an understatement. You have always been obvious about your interest in him. It was just a matter of when you would gain the confidence to make a move. That’s why he invited you to join him on the roof all those months ago.

Still, he looks a bit smug. But that doesn’t last long, as his face falls to contentment as he turns back around. “Come, come.” He beckons.

You follow him up to his jacket, where he places the flowers down. His eyes are cast upwards, at the sky. You follow his gaze.

How can he gaze up for hours? It’s almost unbelievable. 

You sigh. “Can you explain to me - woah!” 

His arms grip onto your thighs as he lifts you up. The lack of struggle terrifies you, in more than being in the air.

“Kaito, what are you doing?” 

“Look up at space! Tell me what colors you see.”

A small noise escapes your lips. You relax a bit, accepting your position while placing your hands on his shoulders.

What colors? There are a lot. Not exactly the purple you thought it was. Maybe a dark blue, light blue, too. 

You haven’t thought about what color space is.

“Blue.” Is the only word you let yourself say.

He lets you down slowly. “Blue is a good answer. I’d like to think space is every color - Eh? Why are you looking at me like that?”

You blink, once... and maybe a dozen more times. “No reason, I just like you.”

⭑ are you named after anyone ?   Nope, all the suggestions for my name were kind of random honestly, they were going to name me Lucia, Antonella or Paulina. My first name was given by my grandfather since he is passionate about philosophy, he picked Sofía ('wisdom' in greek). My second name, Micaela, was picked by my grandmother, it means 'Gift from God'.

⭑ when was the last time you cried ?   I don't remember exactly when it happened, I guess a week ago due to depression attacking me from out of the blue.

⭑ do you have kids ?   nope.

⭑ do you use sarcasm a lot ?   yes, gotta say that I do it a lot, but is only for the laughs because actually, I can be pretty serious.

⭑ what’s the first thing you notice about people ?   with the first glance, is going to be the eyes, since I have a terrible photographic memory I'd try to find some kind of noticeable physical trait, like the hair color, a beauty mark, the jewelry they wearing.
