Heh.... guess whos back to yap even more.... (its glitchduo anon) if this is too long and you dont want to reply thats totally cool however i saw you were interested in ashs character and i just HAD to assist...

(Everything neg here is about the characters not ccs btw, most of it is /aff anyways :3)

Ok so im assuming you know the general gist of s4 which is kind of all i know about it aside from like one or two vods ive fully watched. You also probably know about swagdoons which are the enemies to lovers (sometimes) of lifesteal and they try to kill each other but kiss afterwards..... they are the yaoi ever but ill try to be less insane about them to keep this rant focused

most of my REAL info about ash is from mid s5 and s6 which is when i started watching streams more than the videos, however i know he tries to portray himself as the big scary villain in s4 but honest to god he was apologizing PROFUSELY for the smallest things that guy is NAWT a truly heartless villain although he is pretty selfish and greedy but. Well:

before getting into his character i thought he like fully hated everyone, would never try to help someone else, was a general asshole etc etc but the more i paid attention to him the more i realized that yeah i guess he is those things but there is at least one person he gives a shit about (squiddo) and by god does he care a LOT about her

he also is pretty pathetic actually.... when his peace thing in s5 didnt work out he immediately went back to trying to be evil and selfish in s6... hmm its almost like he reverts back to hating everyone before they think hes a loser hmmm... its also really funny because this guy can BARELY pvp so he's very all or nothing on his dramatic gestures (eg he cant take over the server with pvp so he does it with the wormhole which imo is 500% more impressive, although i dont know very much about pvp)

despite him being pathetic he is def a force to be reckoned with, hes very idle until provoked and the provokation is usually out of spite and malice but that guy will stop at Nothing to get what he wants once he has a good enough motive (and doesnt have collage work)

he also gives me false god vibes but like... hes sort of AWARE hes a false god but does not want to admit it At All. i think its really interesting that the season after he became god he was made a host for a god (he actually confirms hes possesed by the commisioner/overseer/lifesteallord when he talks as them btw absolutely wild) and i think it would be cool if that was intentionally to like. Humble him. Show him a real god, not just an immortal guy with flying powers

(This is a little more of a headcanon but i think its feasable) i think that since his s5 loss, being his first major loss in any season ever, hes lost a sense of self in lifesteal, sitting in his house thats too big with empty walls and emptier reasoning. not to mention hes teamless and his only ally/friend is squiddo and thats not even official 😭😭

so yeah my guy is Going Through It... someone get this man hot chocolate and a warm blanket or maybe a picnic with his Best and Only Friend 🙁🙁

(Oh yea if you want a general idea of s5 onwards and dont have time for streams or really long cinematic videos i would recommend squiddos videos on it, theyre rarely over 15-20 minutes and there are only seven right now so you can get through them in a few days if you're REALLY crunched for time ^_^)

hello again glitchduo anon!! giggles i kind of know some general lore?? but mostly out of things i see on here about it, or like clips/vods i'm able to watch when i have time? so yeah... ash's character is very interesting to me, and honestly, what you said about him aligned pretty well with what i did see of him, but like... not in lifesteal, but the character he played in spoke's unstable videos. bro was literally begging for attention and alliance, and then turned around and BOOM twist villain jumpscare he's actually evil... he was acting off the whole time (ignoring mapicc, probably because he knew mapicc was harder to manipulate, and being very obnoxious about getting close to spoke in particular), so that checked out (sorry, i can yap about unstable for so long, im so insane about it) but yeah, i really really enjoy watching him do his thing, and i want to study him in a lab like a weird microorganism or something definitely was getting the false god vibes too btw from i did see of him in lifesteal (which was mostly just other people's vods) actually the whole being host of a god sounds so interesting?? that's definitely the first time i heard about something like this and i love everything having to do with possessions and stuff like that definitely one of the top characters i actually want to know more about (second close is minutetech i'd say) and don't worry, i really like reading what you send in, it actually helps a lot and it's very interesting!! the moment i opened my inbox and saw a lot of text i was like "oh yeah i know who this is from" (/hj/aff btw) thank you for taking the time to give me more knowledge i guess :33 !!

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response! I definitely see Eddie leaning towards gay as well. If anything I think he’s demi just based on the way he has such a hard time connecting to his past love interests (who he barely knew before dating) vs Shannon (his best friend) and how he treats that relationship. I’m not sure I’m fully on the aro Eddie train yet either but I love hearing everyone else thoughts. I was just curious about it because as someone who discovered they were aro-spec later in life as an adult, a lot of Eddie’s behaviors and things he’s said (dating feeling like a performance standing out a lot to me) just really resonate with the way I feel. Plus regardless of whether you ship Buddie platonically or romantically, there’s just something incredibly queer about their dynamic.

Even if we never get Buddie (I still believe we’re heading in that direction tho!) their relationship just screams queer platonic life partners to me which is something I don’t think I’ve ever really seen on TV and it’s just soooo important to me.

Ryan’s interviews truly mean so much to me for all the reasons you said. I love how much he loves Eddie and how much love and respect he not only treats him, but h tbh e fans.

No I agree, Ryan’s interviews always showcase how much love and care he has for both the fans and the characters, especially with how supportive he is of the fans interpreting Eddie in a way they can relate too, and how important that is to have a character like that.

Like I’ve mentioned plenty of times before I deeply relate to Eddie for various reasons, and having Ryan say that those of us who do are seen and heard in our love for the character is so special.

I may not always like that he gets put in PR jail and sometimes has to be really can-y, scripted, answering-without-really-answering questions in interviews when we all know that man is a little chaos demon who lives on trying to back the writers into a corner (along with oliver, forever the captains of our ship 🫡) but even still, you can always tell that he is so deeply intune with Eddie and how much the audience loves and cares for him, and all the nuances and complexities that come with a character like him.

I genuinely mean this when I say it, but I don’t think I have ever seen a character with as much emotional complexity and depth on a procedural drama, and i unfortunately think that’s a reason why so many people don’t like him because they don’t necessarily understand where he’s at mentally, and where he has come from, which just makes him all the more special to me.

I love getting to dive deep into the minds of characters, so your original ask (and this one too!) was so fun for me to sit down and think out— thanks for giving me an excuse to yap about eddie 💕💕

talking ab fallen star cos that fic consumed me when i first read it and consumed me again when i reread it earlier 🤚

firstly the way he kept his promise to bring mc to the airport it really broke me. it's so melancholic like there have been broken promises before but hyunjin wouldn't dare end their relationship on another one? you can still feel the love he has for t hemin the way he tiredly made his way to drive to their house and to the airport after he came back from his own long flight it honestly makes me insane.

i love how in the car there's this like faint and twisted idea of hope lingering between them. some part of them still longs for the other and it's right there they could just grab the very thing they yearn for but it's incomplete. it's not the same. honestly when mc mutters "idiot" it really made me think like are they calling hyunjin an idiot? or themselves an idiot? and ac i feel like they meant both of them are idiots for allowing themselves to end up in this awkward but necessary situation.

there are some unresolved feelings and unanswered questions while they sit in silence on the way to the airport, but the airport scene™️ gives them both the closure they need. they're not getting back together, no matter how much one might like, but the tension in the car shows a sliver of hope that they would and i feel like it really emanates in your writing and makes me as a reader reader hope for a happier ending as well. also the shaky "fuck" describes my feelings as i read this as well thanks btw 🥲

and this is all from my own mind but i imagine reader saw a photo or maybe got an invitation to hyun's wedding and they realize he's okay and it makes them reflect on themselves and with a heavy heart they realize theyre okay too. the worst part is there's no definitive point where they felt or "became" okay, because like you said, time is the best medicine and gradually mc just healed. but knowing that hyun is okay and has moved on kind of popped a bubble of reserved feelings and its not necessarily sad its just kind of disheartening or numbing?

It was another Friday. Another date.

Leah may be smiling on the outside, but she wanted to stab herself in the eye. She had decided to go with the cute guy from Donahue's but, appearances can be deceptive.

The guy was so boring and all he spoke about how to home brew pilsners. It felt like her ears were bleeding.

"And that's how people confuse lager with pilsner." He said and chuckled. Leah smiled as well. Dinner was over and they were just waiting for the check.

After paying it they both headed out of the restaurant on to the streets. He wrapped his arms around her and  was looking at her expectantly.

God I need to come up with an excuse so that I don't have to kiss his boring ass.

"Roy, I really appreciate the time we had and all... But, I want to protect you." Leah said as she schooled her features in to true morose.

"Protect me?" He asked incredulously.

"I really like you but my ex...he is very vindictive and aggressive. I mean, being part of the Russian Mafia does that."

"Russian Mafia?!"

"Don't worry. He won't come after you unless you try something with you. Poor George... May his soul rest in peace."

"So that's why, we need to stop what we have.. I really care about you to let you go." She patted his shoulder and walked into the night.

The next day, she trudged into the hospital. She could not sleep properly, since her mind were plagued with a certain diagnostician. Of that tall brooding man who had her heart in his hand.

Deep down, she often thought if she would ever get over Ethan. Ethan...was perfect. He was loving, caring and the ideal man she would want to date or rather spend the rest of her life.

Whenever she would kiss a guy, her mind would automatically compare to how Ethan used to kiss her. If anyone held her hand, she would immediately think about the way Ethan's hand would fit in hers, like a jigsaw puzzle. If anybody had sex with her, she would think about how wonderful his mouth was on her skin.

But he made his choice Leah... He doesn't want to take the leap, so why are you going out of your way, holding on to false hope?! Friendship is all that you are getting so just stick to that.

She entered Ethan's office with two steaming cups of coffee. "Morning." Leah chirped and Ethan's face snapped up. But instead of the usual smile on his face, she saw a storm brewing in his ocean eyes.

"Morning Garcia." He answered in a cool voice, but Leah wanted to ask him what was up, but decided to let it slide.

Maybe he had a bad case that's why..

Ethan could not look at her face because if he did, he would just feel pain. He was on the opposite street when he saw the entire exchange between the blonde and Leah. He had his arms around her. Ethan looked the other way, and started his car, and took off.

This wasn't the first guy she had gone out with. She had gone on many dates and God knows how many of those men had seen her naked. The very thought made his jaw clench and blood boil.

But you were the one, who wanted to chose morals and ethics... You are the one who told her that you could not do this... That you could only be a friend.

As he drank his coffee, he leaned against the huge bookshelves and observed her. She yawned and continued to read through case.

"Another bad date?" He asked tersely before taking a sip of the scalding hot liquid.

"Yap. God, he was soooo boring I thought that my ears would fall off!! Why are men so self obsessed?" She chuckled but Ethan just laid his cool gaze on her.

"You seem to be doing that a lot."

"Huh?"

"You heard me. You have been distracted and slacking. And this is all because you feel the need to go around."

Leah felt like she was slapped across the face.

How fucking dare he?

"What did you just say to me?" Anger clearly evident in her voice but that didn't deter Ethan.

"I'm saying that sleeping around won't get you anywhere. It's pretty unforgivable if you ask me."

She kept her coffee mug on the table and stood up to stand face to face. "Last time I checked, regarding my work, I was the one who diagnosed the case which you misdiagnosed. So I'm doing a pretty great job. Also, remind me, when did I ask for your damn opinion and I sure as hell don't need your forgiveness." She spat out.

Ethan stared her down, his eyes getting colder and stonier. "Oh, so who is it gonna be next, hmm? Lahela? Because last I heard he also sleeps around. You two seem to have that in commo-" he taunted her before he was interrupted by a slap.

Leah fucking slapped him.

"You don't get to call me a whore. You have no fucking right to. When I met you, I was ready to settle down. I was ready to give up on the fast life, the boys, the bars everything."

"YOU were the one who thought I wasn't worth it. YOU were the one who chose your ethics over me. And that was okay! I respected that. It fucked me up but I respected that."

"I'm all fixed now and I don't feel like crying to sleep anymore. I make no apologies for the way I dealt with the pain, YOU caused me." She spoke in such a cool voice, that it could have frozen a glass of water. Her eyes were red with tears of frustration.

They were both breathing hard, anger swirling between them.

"This- this thing which we have between us? It's over." Ethan said as he turned on his heel.

"Run away Ethan.. 'cause that's the only thing you are good at." She called out.

Ethan entered the first empty room he spotted and locked the door. He leaned against the door and breathed harshly.

Why did I do that? He held his head in his hands and let out another breath.

On to the Ficlet~

"Excuse me?", Kratos seemed a little confused, "You want to what?"

"Well, since it's my birthday, Colette invited me to the amusement Park that recently opened in the neighboring town", Lloyd started his explanation, "Aaaand it was also her who got me the idea to invite the two of you to come along since I told her it's been a while since we had a parents and child day. It will be fun, trust me!"

"Come on Kratos", Anna teased, "I think you could use some amusement every once in a while."

Kratos will never admit that it was her cocky grin that made him give in, not to himself and espacially not to her, should she ever ask.

"Fine then, when are we going?", he said with a sigh.

"Colette will come over in about an hour so we got some time to get ready", Lloyd grinned, happy that his parents would tag along.

"That doesn't mean that any of you should take an hour in our only bathroom to fix your hair or something, 'kay boys?", Anna laughed, "That's unfixable anyway, I tried it for years."

Lloyd just laughed it off, Kratos rolled his eyes and all of them decended to their own rooms to pick something to wear and get ready.

About an hour later everyone met in the living area just in time to hear the doorbell ring. Lloyd opened the door to greet an overly joyful Colette, who practically barged in to the house with a hug that made Lloyd stumble backwards a few stepps.

"Happy birthday, Lloyd!", Colette chirped.

"Thank you Colette"; Lloyd smiled happily.

"Soooo, are your parent coming with us?"

"Yap, was pretty good at convincing them."

"Well, that's just great. Oh, before I forget it", Colette drew a nicely wrapped package out of the bag she carried, "I also got you a little present on top of our little visit to the park today. But open it after your back home, okay?"

"O- kay?", Lloyd said with a questioning look on his face.

"Just do it as I say, you won't regret it", Colette smiled, "Alright, then let's get going!"

"Yeah!"

After a short and uneventful car ride down to the next town they finally walked up to their destination.

"Whoa, this place is huge", Lloyd said amazed.

"I heard they got a really great roller coaster here, wanna go there first?", Colette asked.

"I'd love to, what about you?", Lloyd looked at his parents.

"That sounds great", Anna chirped.

Kratos looked from his wife to his son and finally said: "Sure, why not."

"Great", Colette was already happily dragging Lloyd along, "Just follow me, I know the area."

"Wha-?", Lloyd was a little confused, "Didn't this park just open last week?"

Colette just grinned at him.

-some time later-

"Colette? We're still not there, are we?", Lloyd asked but Colette wasn't listening, her attention on a stand selling plushies.

"Look, over there!", she pointed towards a plush dog, "He's sooo cute, Lloyd can I get him?"

Lloyd turned to his parents: "We're gonna be at that stand for a while, you can look around elsewhere if you want", and after they nodded to him he trotted after Colette.

"This is gonna be a journey", Kratos said with a sigh after Lloyd and Colette where out of hearing range.

"Why that?", Anna looked at him funny.

"We've been walking the wrong direction for the last 2 hours", Kratos said as exhausted as possible even though he had to smile almost as much as his wife at it.

"The kids are having fun and so should you!", she laughed.

"So, you want a plush dog as well?", Kratos asked with a little laugh.

"Might go and get some icecream",  Anna sugested.

(They still all had a really nice roller coaster ride before they left the park that day. Rumor states, however, that Kratos had to buy a map of the place and lead them there.)
