Unsure of this hyena power and the whispers coming from the crowd that was form, the man just huffed before he turned around and left.

As he turned around to check on you, Ruggie let out a small "oof" when a body came colliding into his. Stumbling back a bit, he glanced down to see you with your face hidden against his chest and your arms wrapped around him in a hug.

Feeling his face grow hot again, Ruggie just kept his arms up as he wasn't sure what to do. "A-are you okay?" He asked as he blushed heavily at the feeling of your body pushed up against his.

It was like getting on your nerves was his hobby with how good he was at it. Just like now, with how Ruggie stole the last desert that you had been craving all day. Your eye twitched, glaring at the smug hyena. 

“What are you staring at?” Ruggie asked with a sly grin. “Somethin’ on my face?” 

He knows. He has to know. Why else was he looking so smug? Why did he always have to make himself a problem, you were seriously going to tear your hair out. Okay, so maybe you were having a bit of a bad day and were taking your internal frustrations out on the wrong person, but you really, really wanted that desert. 

“Shut up,” You grumbled in reply, walking out of line and taking your lunch elsewhere. You stewed in your anger, taking bites out of your food and scowling. Just a few more hours, that’s all you had left before you could shut yourself in your room and destress. Of course, Ruggie always seemed to try and make your day worse, inviting himself over and sitting right next to you. You glowered at him, just wanting some time alone, but of course, Ruggie couldn’t seem to take the hint.

On the other hand, Ruggie had noticed you eyeing the desert after he grabbed it. And as he teased you, ears twitching in anticipation of your response, his smile fell. Instead of bickering back, you shoved him off, walking away in a huff. Something was clearly wrong, and in his way of making peace, he had decided to give you some of the desert. He had to admit, he found himself charmed by your wit, and found himself excited to banter with you. Over time, he found himself liking you a bit too much for his own good. For someone like him, hope was a dangerous thing, but he found his heart skipping a beat in your presence anyways.

Lifting the sweet treat, Ruggie broke a piece off and lifted it up to your lips. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, eyes going from the treat to Ruggie’s light blue eyes. You watched him warily, unsure if this was some prank, but he stood firm, even inching the piece to hit your lips. Reluctantly (and a bit flustered), you took the bait, averting your eyes and taking the bite. That was how you spent the rest of your lunch, Ruggie feeding you bits of the desert while he ate some as well. 

“You got a little somethin’,” Ruggie chuckled, pointing to the corner of his lip. Mirroring where his hand was, you rubbed at the spot, but grew frustrated when he confirmed you hadn’t got it yet. “Here, lemme just,” Reaching over, he gently swiped at some crumbs, your stupid traitorous heart thumping like crazy. It felt like time came to a pause, your faces close, close enough for you to be able to count each individual freckle that littered his nose and cheeks, to see the slight fang that peaked through his lips as he grinned…

“Are we about to kiss right now?” 

Curse your blabbermouth. Your cheeks warmed as Ruggie’s eyes widened in surprise, his cheeks tinted a rosy pink. Chuckling into his hand, he tried to regain his composure, but your question had rattled him, that bloom of hope expanding.

“Are you serious?” Ruggie questioned back, tail wagging without his permission. 

“I-I…” You stuttered, so many feelings bubbling up. Did you…this entire time…actually like Ruggie? Romantically? Of course, why else would you try to deny how attractive you found him, looking forward to the next time you’d see him, wondering if he saw you the same? Your symptoms were clearly that of a crush, no wonder your friends would snicker when you said you hated Ruggie. 

Trying to distract yourself from all the weird, fuzzy feelings, you pulled Ruggie in by the front of his shirt for a kiss. There’s a knock on Ramshackle’s front door in the late hours of the afternoon. After everything that happened at Styx, you refused to let Grim out of your sight, and that includes leaving him to answer the door. “Oh, please. Allow me.” Jamil swoops his arms under Grim and plucks him out of your arms as easily as yanking a flower out of the grass. You yelp and gape at the boy as he waltzes into Ramshackle without a care in the world.

Like he owns the place.

Sneaky.

“What’s your idea then, herbivore?” Leona snickers, leaning against the doorframe like he also owns the place, “I would love to hear it.”

“Um…would you guys accept kisses as compensation?” you say, wrinkling your nose at just how stupid it sounds when you say it out loud.

Leona lets out a barking laugh, throwing his head back and all. You feel even more embarrassed now, taking his amusement as rejection.

“Oh, you’re smarter than you look.” he huffs, voice thick with amusement, “You nailed it, herbivore. Now are you going to pay up or not?”

You can feel your face growing warm as he leans in, eyes staring straight into your soul as if this doesn’t affect him one bit. Was he so used to teasing and moments like this that they didn’t even phase him anymore? Or were you just a flustered fool, dancing in the palm of his hand?

You ultimately decide that if it means receiving affection from him, you don’t care.

And so you allow him to brush his nose over your cheek, and you allow his breath to fan over your lips as you shut your eyes in anticipation. He laughs at that, too, his hot breath only making you more and more anxious.

“Are you going to kiss me or not?” you grumble, furrowing your brow with your eyes still clamped shut.

“Aww, do you want a kiss?” Leona teases, and you’re about to yell at him when he follows up with a quiet, “Well, fine then.”

And then he’s kissing you.

Your back is pressed against the doorframe as he cradles you against him. His hands are placed securely at your waist as he tilts his head, pushing against you as he searches for more, more. Your head is spinning with it all, and you’re certain if Leona wasn’t holding you up you’d be crumpled over on your doorstep right now. There’s a clear smugness in his movements, especially when he hooks a hand under your thigh and pulls it up. Your face could not be any warmer than it is right now, especially when he squeezes the flesh gently and his claws rake against your skin.

He breaks away and you gasp, the sound soft and bewildered. You brush your fingers along your lower lip, and even though it feels like it's burning it doesn’t burn.

Leona gazes at you, his expression so smug you have half a mind to wipe it off his stupidly handsome face, but then he turns on his heel and starts walking away,

“Well, that’s enough for me.” he yawns as if he didn’t just kiss you breathless (like a satisfied predator), “See ya around, herbivore. Thanks for the compensation.”

You manage to call out a shaky goodbye to him in your shock, mind still reeling and unorganized from the kiss. Why can’t anyone on this campus be predictable?! Never in a million years did you think Leona and-

Wait, Jamil. He didn’t leave.

You were so distracted by Leona that you forgot about Jamil and the fact that he basically shouldered his way into your dorm.

He’s still around here somewhere (unless he’s jumped out of a window, which is too much of a Kalim thing to do so you dispel the thought with a giggle.)

Great Seven, you’re not even close to being recovered from what just happened, but there’s no use delaying the inevitable. You make your way to you and Grim’s bedroom, hoping Jamil didn’t just dump him somewhere. Surely he’s responsible enough to not do that, right?

You discover that he does know where Grim’s bed is. Grim is still fast asleep, tucked away in his bed. You laugh again to yourself as you realize that Jamil probably still has the layout of Ramshackle memorized from when he stayed over during SDC.

“Yes, he’s fine. I made sure he didn’t wake up.” Jamil says from behind you, and you jump at the unexpected noise. Spinning around to glare at him (though the expression holds no malice), you jolt backward when you see just how close he is. He rolls his eyes at your mock annoyance and jerks his head to the left. He’s holding a tray of tea and snacks in his hands, and while the gesture would be nice from almost anyone else, you figure he’s going to use this against you later.

You enter your bedroom anyway. Jamil follows you silently and sets the tray of treats on your nightstand.

“Do you want the same thing as Leona?” you ask, sitting at the edge of the bed.

Jamil makes a quiet huffing sound under his breath but doesn’t answer your question. You let him pour the tea and hand you a teacup, and watch him as he pours a cup of tea for himself. You don’t want to push too hard, but he was the one that came to you in the first place.

“Jamil.” you say softly, reaching out and cupping his cheek, “You said you wanted compensation but all you’ve done is help me out. I need to pay you back, right?”

His eyes flicker toward you, and he sighs.

“I don’t want what Leona wants, Prefect. I was just teasing you earlier.” he mumbles, shutting his eyes as if he’s exhausted (which he probably is), “I would like to rest here with you. That’s all.”

Your mouth forms an o shape as you realize that no, the tea and snacks were not to trap you in yet another favor, but were meant to be part of your favor to him. There’s a stab of guilt in your stomach, and you swallow it uncomfortably.

“I thought the tea and snacks were for another favor you wanted paid back.” you confess, fisting your hands in your lap, “I’m sorry.”

“Oh, don’t be.” his tired expression turns wicked in a split second, his eyes gleaming with mischief, “I plan to take up more of your time than Leona did. This is me paying you back.”

“That’s too many transactions.” you murmur, placing a gentle hand on his upper arm, “Just come here. “

Jamil follows your lead and clambers into bed, the springs squeaking under the extra weight. You’ve done well to keep your voice low for Grim, so much so that Jamil’s heavy sigh is the loudest sound that's been made in the room by either of you this afternoon. He slumps over against your shoulder, the top of his head bumping against your chin as his shoulders sag. You feel your heart twinge in your chest as you wrap a steady arm around him and rest your head on him, too.

You certainly wouldn’t mind if either of them wanted to do this again.

Jamil's reaction depends on where you are (library, study hall, his room etc) and he's way more likely to just fluster if he's in a more public setting- regardless if you have chosen a more secluded corner- but if he's somewhere where he feels more free and more hidden he's gonna do his best to flirt and be suave. He flusters way more with honest and genuine direct affection otherwise he wins out in patience and subtlety in flirting in the "study" session

Epel is flustered as fuck, also really proud and smug. He's distracted yes but depending on your actions such as promising rewards for finishing study session or going further or even just doing nothing which might confuse him then he'll either continue studying and be flustered or go along with your lead

Ruggie is flustered and might freeze up, he's not studying, he's busy trying to keep his heart from exploding at the close contact. He doesn't know what to do, will follow your lead though. If you just continue studying then you just have a free yeen seat

Ace is NOT focusing-probably wasn't really studying in the first place though that's due to having a one on one session with you- and his thing is that he is way more focused on where this is going, he's nervous about messing up and he's also trying to act like he's studying while trying to see where this goes. He is not very subtle or good at the act, he's very flustered but he's not in the same category as the others because he's more so distracted and trying to do something​.

Rook is no longer focused on studying. It's kind of a toss up of whether he'll put all his focus on you in his arms or if he'll play pretend and try to get you to fluster. Either way, you're in for a time.

One of the things I think of when it comes to lap sitting is the irony of a human sitting on the lap of a beastmen and I wonder if they think about it too.

Plus, with them in particular the urge to sniff, bite, nuzzle, and lick is very strong. Especially if they have a clear view of the back of your neck and shoulders. Leona says he wants you to sit in front of him in class, so he doesn't get caught napping, but we all know the true reason.

Nibblers/Biters include but are not limited to: Malleus, Idia, (once he gets over some of his anxiety about using his teeth on you) Leona, Jade, Floyd, Ruggie, Jack, Lilia, Sebek, Ace, Rook.

Leona and Silver would likely fall asleep on you. Which sounds cute but they're both solid and heavy so you're gonna get squished when he clonks out and puts all his weight on you.

Funny thing for the guys that get flustered, once they get more used to it, it ends up just being a normal thing and he doesn't like studying without you being close like that.

It helps Riddle destress while he still gets work done and helps Jack ease that separation anxiety he gets after you guys become a couple.

The handkerchief will not be used, even if Riddle wanted to because it's just too precious too him haha. If anyone tries to steal it from him he'll cut off their head

Overall, expect him to be absolutely flustered when he receives the gift but he'll love it a lot. He might try to make something for you in return too!

Leona

He'll first make fun of you for giving him such a "delicate" gift but believe me he's screaming on the inside by how cute it is. To make things more romantic he knows why you chose the specific pattern for him and it just makes his heart melt

I feel like he also won't use it, not even if it's for the smallest tears that he might have because he doesn't want it to get ruined. He'll hide it from Ruggie though because he doesn't want him to tease him about it

Trey: Gets a soft smile on his face. If you fall asleep while riding him he'll carefully bend forward slightly so you're at a more comfortable angle. He'll stay still for the most part but occasionally walk around to create a soothing rocking motion.

Cater: Also gets a soft smile on his face. He'll do his best to make sure you're laying on his body because he's warm and soft. Checks on you every now and then. Plays with your hair if he can reach.

Ace: Wing blanket wing blanket wing blanket. You'll probably end up using his chest as a pillow so he keeps you warm with his wings. Will preen your hair gently with a big smile.

Deuce: He is so honored and his love for you has increased tenfold. Goes stone stiff and growls loudly at anyone who dares to disturb your slumber. Will make a rumbling purr every so often.

Savannaclaw

Leona: Anyone who tries to get near will be given a death glare and a pointy teeth filled snarl. Nobody is allowed near while he's on guard. You are warm and safe with him. If you sleep first he will not be sleeping. Instincts man, instincts. His love for you grows immensely and he will make sure you have a peaceful rest. Might start grooming you if you're in reach of his tongue.

Ruggie: His smile is so big and his tail is going crazy. You'll wake up to a yeen staring at you with absolute love in his eyes. He makes sure you're as comfy as possible and hums a soothing tune.

Jack: The first time it happens you won't be asleep for long his tail is going to make his whole body shake from the force. He is so mad at himself and doesn't even try to hide it. Give him some pats to let him know it's alright and snuggle back in for another go. This time and from then on his tail won't be a bother. It was just because this was the first time he was caught off guard. Another that growls at nap waking offenders.

Octavinelle

Azul: Internally screaming. He has a huge blush on his face and is so glad you can't see it. You will wake up in a gentle entanglement of tentacles to a singing octopus running his hands through your hair and rubbing you back. Does his best to keep you nice and warm. Disturbances get smacked. Hard.

Jade: On that outside he looks the same. On the inside he's got fireworks going off with kazoos in the background. It's not often he finds someone willing to sleep in his presence due to his unsettling aura and to have his master do so paves the way for him letting down his mask around them. Wraps his tail around you and plays with your hair. Any with the balls to approach get traumatized by his glare.

Floyd: Gets uncharacteristically calm. Like Jade he's got fireworks and kazoos but as much as he wants to squeeze you he waits until you wake up. Floyd is lucky you were willing to adopt him alongside his twin despite his chaotic nature and this lets him know you don't secretly regret it. Hugs you close and hums while playing with your hair. Also traumatizes disturbances with a glare.

Scarabia

Kalim: Like Floyd he becomes super calm and quiet. Growing up in a big household he knows very well how nice it is to have someone you can cuddle up with for a nap and not worry about them waking you. Loves when you hug his tail, he'll let out a happy giggle.

Jamil: Literal hearts in his eyes. You are not going anywhere anytime soon when you wake this is one of the few moments Jamil will demand to be spoiled right then and there. First you rescued him for that godawful home and now this? His loyalty is yours forever.

Pomefiore

Vil: There's a slight blush on his face as he moves your hair out of your eyes. You don't treat him like an untouchable beauty (in fact that’s quite the opposite you’re always petting him please be mindful of the hair and fur) and spoil him with actual genuine praise and love. His heart is about to explode. Already thinking about what he wants to do for you to say 'I love you'.

Rook: Also gets literal hearts in his eyes. He's so happy you graced him with such an honor and takes his job very seriously. One of the very few times he growls at others. He watches you sleep, nothing but absolute adoration and gentleness in them.

Epel: Ego boost of the century. He is gonna protect your nap with his life. He can't growl or hiss but he will bare his fangs at any who dare come close. You will wake up to a happy antler bunny demanding pets and kisses for a reward.

Ignihyde

Idia: Hair is a bright pink and mouth a big toothy smile. This is the moment he starts to feel genuine love towards you. Makes sure everything is perfect as can be while you nap. Might reach back to play with your hair. Gives a warning nicker to anyone that dares to interrupt your nap. The really ballsy ones get chased away by a small fireball.

Ortho: Has a huge grin on his face and look of triumph. Takes his duty very seriously, no warnings from him you just get chased by a fireball. Will spend the whole nap trying to reach a blanket juuust out of reach because what if you catch get sick from laying on his cold body? Reward him with pets and forehead kisses he’s such a good boy.

Diasomnia

Malleus: You are in the safest spot in the whole world the moment your eyes close. He notices immediately and spares no time getting you to maximum comfort. Uses magic to levitate you between his forearms, summons your favorite blanket and pillow, and makes the room the perfect temperature just for you. His gaze is filled with nothing but love and adoration as he watches you snooze, humming a tune as his fingers massage your back. Anyone who has the courage to try and wake you gets teleported outside and locked out until you awaken.

Lilia: Gives you a soft smile and look as you drift away. Gently picks you up and brings you to your bed so he can watch over you from above. If he can’t he’ll lay on his back and cover you with his wings instead. Sings a tune while you dream away. No one tries to wake you. One look from the old fae and they are immediately doing a 180 out the room no thank you sir.

Silver: Oh mah gwad he goes from sleepy prince charming to ultra serious guard in a snap. Your blanket is his tail and his side is your pillow. When his eyes are on you they are filled with hearts and gaze is the softest of them all. When there’s an intruder they become murderous and terrifying he got it from his pops.

Sebek: Puffs out his chest with pride and takes the job super ultra mega seriously. Anything in reach that will increase your comfort is used to its full potential. You will wake up to find yourself in a makeshift nest and a happy crocodile man greeting you asking if your nap was excellent. Like some of the others this is probably the moment he begins to feel genuine love for you and becomes more open around you. Please call him a good boy you will not regret it I promise.

Bonus

Che’nya: Purring immediately a kitty cat lullaby to block out any noise. His tail curls around you and he’s humming a tune to go with his purrs. Unless someone is able to find you without their eyes you won’t be awoken his unique magic especially comes in handy for nap time. If you are found he scares the unwanted guests with some little tricks he’s saved for occasions just like this.

Cheka: He puffs out his chest, ready to prove he’s more than capable to protect his master! He crosses his arms across his chest and straightens up ready to scare away all enemies of your glorious nap! But your body heat feels nice, and your scent always puts him at ease. No, he can’t sleep right now! But maybe closing his eyes for a minute will help wake him up…

What are your opinions/headcanons of if the TWST cast went to their significant other/fb and just call them "daddy" or "master" nonchalantly? This would either be due to a thing they say online and got curious, a dare, or just wanting any reaction out of their partner

To be honest, the more I thought about it, the more difficult it was for me to imagine any of these boys calling anyone “daddy” or “master”. I still have no idea why would any of them do that. But it’s also kind of funny to think about how these boys would react to it, so… Just fyi, we don’t like this... trope? kink?, hence are the problems with my imagination.

Riddle – he is probably the most innocent when it comes to understanding the implications of these words, but it would still feel somewhat weird to him. If it’s Floyd who does that, he would kind of dig the idea of being Floyd’s master… for one moment, and then get very loudly mad at him grinning at his reaction.

Ace – he would choke on his own saliva because of shock and say that it was cringe, but secretly kind of be a little into it.

Deuce – he would think that Ace is making fun of him, get flustered and mad and smack him. Don’t call him that!

Trey – awkward laughter. He would say that it’s okay; there was this one time when someone accidentally called him “mom”, so it happens. Of course he is just playing dumb, he knows the implications of being called that. He is just a little bit too shocked to hear that from Riddle, so he needs some time to process that.

Cater – he would also laugh it off, but then suddenly start playing along. He isn’t sure if he likes it or not yet, but he’ll figure it out in the process. It is new to him though, so he might say that he is more of a “cute oniichan” type~

Leona – for some reason… actually hearing it is even worse than he thought. It sounds like Ruggie just wants something from him. Maybe it’s because it’s Ruggie of all people.

Ruggie – confused blink, finger pointing at self like “me?”. He would then grin and ask if he can boss Leona around now that he is Master… and get his Master rights revoked immediately.

Jack – he is not innocent to the point of not knowing how it sounds, but no matter who he hears that from, he would be surprised and flustered. With Vil, he would think that this is some kind of improv and that he expects Jack to play along… he would think too hard about it.

Azul – if it’s Jamil who says it (????? I wonder why…), Azul would chuckle smugly and say something among the lines of “now, what do you want from me? Be honest”. Because he knows there is no way Jamil means it, but still, you can hear it in his voice, he is kind of… happy. And if it’s Idia who does it, Azul would get a bit more annoyed and embarrassed from the get-go: “Are you teasing me, Idia-san??”

Floyd – he would either get annoyed or start abusing the fact that he is Daddy/Master. If someone is bold enough to call him that, he might as well take it and start demanding that person to do ridiculous(ly perverted) things for him. Chances are, the other guy (Riddle, Epel, whoever) doesn’t play along, and then Floyd would stop him and say “hey, I thought you said I am your master now?”

Jade – he would act surprised at first, but then say that it’s very sudden, but he is going to do his best to be the best Daddy or Master possible. And if he was called Daddy, he would continue saying the word Daddy so many times until the poor guy who said it dies of cringe. Are you dissatisfied with your Daddy? He is very sorry that he isn’t Daddy enough even though you called him Daddy. And yes, he would abuse the role of Master just as Floyd would.

Kalim – even though there is some part of him that understands that this isn’t what being called “master” means, he would ask to just call him Kalim. And if he is being called “daddy” he would just get very confused. “Do you miss your father, Jamil? Should we facetime him?”

Jamil – what… doesn’t have time or energy for this, what the hell is this… (although to be fair, he really does enjoy being called master in the game 🤔 kinky hoe)

Vil – somehow he looks disappointed, no matter who he hears this from, but he would look especially disappointed (and SURPRISED) with Rook. If you want to call him something, come up with something better. No, not “mommy”.

Rook – honestly, he is an enigma, it’s super difficult to picture his reaction in particular, but I think he would act play along a little bit… and then somehow turn it into an entirely different roleplay. It wasn’t even a roleplay to begin with, but now it is. Daddy or Master aren’t necessarily his go-to words to hear about himself…

Epel – oh no, I think he would get genuinely happy and giggly. After being a little shocked of course. Still, the thought of it being a joke wouldn’t cross his mind at first, even if he hears it from someone like Floyd.

Idia – he really doesn’t get it, but he really doesn’t like it. It sounds like a joke. Being called “master” is slightly better, because it kind of reminds him of one gacha game about maids that always greets him with “welcome back, master”, but it’s one thing when it’s a cute little girlie calls you that… being called that by Azul or Lilia or the Tweels just sounds like a threat. Unless it’s Ortho, Ortho is always cute <3

Ortho – he would “yes, and” it. Of course there is no way Idia or Vil (or anyone else) would mean it literally, which means there is some attempt at play! And he would play along! Sounds very fun. He would wonder what kind of things he could demand for as a master >:3c He could also play along with the “daddy” scenario and it’s cursed, no one wants to hear it.

Lilia – he is pretty used to it, I think lol Well, I guess “father” and “daddy” are two different things. He would be very surprised if Silver called him daddy, and would probably take it as a wholesome thing. Of all things this is what Lilia would take as wholesome..?? If Malleus says it though, Lilia would instantly get amused because this is very bold and inappropriate of him (in a way he wonders if Malleus even knows the sexual implications of the word).

Silver – he would probably ignore it and think that it wasn’t him who his partner (Sebek?) was referring to. Then, he would blink confusedly because there is not a single scenario in his head that would make it make sense. He is probably just going to suggest Sebek to take the rest of the day off and sleep…

Sebek – another one who would get weirdly into being called master, but still yell at the person who called him that, while blushing and getting very obviously nervous. Like we mentioned just the other day, being called “daddy” would make him think about being compared to Lilia, so this is a bit more weird to him…

Malleus – oho? Him, a parent? If it’s Lilia, how quaint of him. Is this another joke that Malleus doesn’t get? And if it’s Sebek, then… is he feeling okay? Malleus would get concerned. Well, if he calls him “master”, I guess this isn’t so different from being his liege.
