So in light of the most recent wankcourse, I noticed some people said they wanted to give their purpleblood face paint, but couldn’t think of any kind of design. In light of this, here’s a post to hopefully give some inspiration, using members of Psychopathic Records, artists who have toured with the Insane Clown Posse (since like...the cult is based off the actual band ICP and not necessarily clowns), actual clowns, and people who just paint up for their art. Again, this isn’t insisting that all purples have to be painted up, this is to just give some inspiration for people who do want their purples to have paint, but don’t want know where to go.

So anyway let’s go!!

Tech N9ne loves painting up his face, in some cases with some absolutely intense designs. He’s not under Psychopathic Records, but has toured with ICP. I highly recommend listening to Tech N9ne too, he’s really damn talented)

Alice Cooper, the granddaddy of horrorcore - which ICP is part of. It’s not heavy face paint, but you could easily modify it via making a whole white face with the black accents, or invert it.

On that note, Marilyn Manson has also painted up from time to time. Really, in hororcore and goth acts, it’s not uncommon.

And let’s not forget the other members of Psychopathic Records, many of whom paint their face at least once or twice.

Or hey, while it’s pretty obvious, the band KISS is known for its showmanship and face paint!

Lots of black metal acts in particular will paint up their face in some way, shape, or form. (image includes the aforementioned Alice Cooper, here’s a link to a larger version of this post. Or search Corpse Paint, and you’ll get what you need)

Finally, in the vein of music, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. This guy predates even Alice Cooper

And now into actual circuses and clowns. In honor of the Soleil twins in canon, here’s some face paint from Cirque Du Soleil that you could easily make monochrome or use the colors not like purplebloods care having blood that close to their face

The Devil’s Carnival, being based off....well....a carnival, naturally lots of people have painted up faces and styles.

Wode paint, while not related to clowns in any way, was once commonly done for beserker warriors and modern day people have some frankly awesome designs

(I suggest googling “wode paint warriors” if you want more of these)

And finally, back to the Soleil twins. Honestly, they look like part of their face is obscured with a mask, which is what gives their face that up/down-turned half as needed, as well as one eye appearing to be shut.

 So there’s no reason that masks aren’t allowed! Like, yeah part of their face is painted white, but a white painted face and the rest obscured is actually a pretty easy design. So maybe pull from say, Commedia dell’arte? Even if you don’t feel comfortable using a mask, some of these are able to be styled into masks.

So yeah there ya go! Sorry for this super image-heavy and long-ass post. Hopefully this helped someone out in their designing of the fantrolls, if ya so choose.
