You know I have to wonder, why did IDW decide to have Galvatron and Arcee twins, of all characters?

It seems like such a random pair of characters to make related to each other. Like I feel like their only connection is being from the 86 movie, and I’m pretty sure almost any other character there could’ve worked better, as either Galvatron’s twin or Arcee’s

I mean it’s what the Wiki told me, I don’t really know the specifics, but again, it’s so weird, why did they do that?

#I’ve mostly been thinking about this in the context of Arcee being related to Galvatron #like why is she related to him?#even in the context of him being separate from Megatron it’s still a weird choice #he’s like some terrifying warrior from the distant past and think #and I guess so is Arcee?#not that she can’t be a badass like she is in TFP #but isn’t the super serious Arcee of that show like one of the exceptions?#she’s not normally like that I gather #also didn’t IDW make Arcee trans? I can’t help but wonder about that in the context of this Galvatron #like imagine being a Viking warrior and getting sent to the future with your twin and they get a gender affirming surgery #like how do you react to that #I guess it depends on whether we’re going with Arcee wanting it or not bc I know that was retconned #but yeah going back to the original point #I mean I guess making two characters related in another continuity is interesting #like I think Armada did that with Optimus and Ultra Magnus being brothers #but in this case it feels so out there I can’t wrap my head around why #transformers #transformers idw #galvatron #arcee #questions
