Hey! Thank you for sending me this! I've been thinking a lot about this ask and here's what I have to say.

I love the Teen Titans cartoon with all my heart, everyone who follows me knows this. It's still my favorite show of all time and Starfire is my favorite character in all media. However, every time I rewatch the show I can't help but notice that Starfire is a very static character. Yes, she does go through some changes, but for the most part she stays the same. This doesn't affect her likability at all; she's still a very adorable, beautifully well-written character with a lot of depth in my opinion, but overall she has the least amount of growth out of all Titans, and this is 100% because she wasn't given her own season.

So, if I had the power to create a season six I would absolutely dedicate it to her. I would give Starfire an arc that explored not just who she is as we see her in the show, but why and how. I think it's easy to look at Starfire and think "oh, she's a very simple character," but I honestly don't think that's true, even without her arc. She's someone who can see the good in everyone; someone who refuses to give up on people nor let them bring down her morality. It doesn't matter if you're a racist jackass who deserves to be left behind in a minefield to be blown to shreds, she will not leave you behind. That's a very powerful quality and it takes a lot of strength. (And I'm not talking about the physical kind, which we all know she has.)

I'm not really into comic books so I'm not too familiar with how things are in the original comics, but I know she goes through a lot of really messed up shit and I wish we would've had more of her backstory incorporated into the show besides just the episode 'Go!'. If I could, I'd go a little more into detail about the things she went through before she became a Titan.

Obviously Blackfire would be the main antagonist because, like Starfire, she has A LOT of potential and I don't think she was explored nearly enough. I'm not too sure of the details so I don't know how exactly it would play out, but Blackfire would probably want to take revenge on Starfire for overthrowing her reign as empress and banishing her from Tamaran, so maybe she'd team up with the gordanians and they'd plan an attack on Earth. The Titans would discover this and, just as they did in Season 5, they'd rally all the honorary Titans together again to prepare for the upcoming battle. As the season progressed we'd learn more about Starfire and her relationship with Blackfire as both sides prepared for war, and it would all lead to one big, final showdown at the end of the season with Starfire landing the winning blow.

Of course I'd have this season take place right after Trouble in Tokyo, so Robin and Starfire would already be an established couple. But I really want this season to focus on Starfire's character, not her relationship with Robin, so their relationship would just be a minor part of the plot rather than the whole point of the story.

So basically, if I could make a season 6 I would give Starfire the arc she rightfully deserved but was robbed of. I honestly believe she would be a much more popular character if the writers would have given her a story arc in the OG series and I'll never get over how unfairly she was treated.

Psycho Pass - timeline and why you shouldn’t hate on S3 that much

I’ve been following Psycho Pass ever since the original run of Season 1 back in 2012. I’d like to make you and everyone who disliked S3 understand some things. Hope I structure this well, here goes.

Obviously there will be some spoilers.

First let’s take a look at the releases in the PP universe so far. We have:

Season 1

Season 2

Movie

Sinners of The System 1,2,3 (2 being a prequel)

Season 3

First Inspector

Before I write anything I’m going to stop you and say that nothing tops Season 1. So there,now that we have that out of the way let’s continue.

Season 1

Takes place in late 2112-2113

Central characters are Akane and Kogami and let’s face it, for many Kogami is the one who carried the show, even if some consider him to be a “generic edgy”  protagonist I think he’s pretty solid as a character at this point.

Akane has had MAJOR character development throughout the whole season and I’ll never forget how upset some people were that she was a noob. That was the whole point, she is a newbie and a model citizen who trusts the system, her character evolution revolves around coming to the realization that the system is flawed.

Makishima as a villain was phenomenal and not because quoting from books , but because his motives and reasoning were clearly established  and he made both protagonists question themselves and the system.

Season 1 is written by Gen Urobuchi , the following seasons (except the movie) are not written by him.

Season 2

Takes place in 2114.

A trainwreck, don’t even want to go here. The disappointment was huge.

I found Mika to be extremely annoying and unbearable with 0 character growth. The only highlights for this season for me were Gino and Akane.

Onwards.

The Movie

Takes place 3 years after the events of Season 1, in 2116.

Nothing of major impact happens but if you love the old cast , namely Gino, Akane, Kogami you’ll enjoy this and I have a feeling this is what they were betting on and wanted to see: the public reaction to the old cast.

The interaction between Akane and Kogami is the highlight (another one being Gino vs Kogami).

It’s clear as day that Akane evolved as a character and Kogami is questioning his past, so let’s say some minor character development.

Sinners of the System

If you enjoy the universe and aren’t too attached to the main cast you will like these, although case 3 is about Kogami so I’m sure it’s the one most people will like.

Case 1 has some minor Mika character development (she still sucks imho)

Case 2 is a prequel that sets up some details about the storyline that will be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Case 3 is the one you’ll want to watch if you want to see S3/First Inspector as it revolves around Kogami and him coming to terms with his thoughts when he is asked by a young girl to train her as he sees in her a version of himself and where this will lead (girl seeks revenge) . 

His story arc regarding Sasayama’s death, revenge, Makishima is complete, it ends here as he decides to head back to Japan.

This triggers the potential for the future series/movies in the Psycho Pass universe to deal with the (possible) unresolved storyline of dealing with Akane once he gets back to Japan, because he will have to face her at one point.

So after Case 3 Kogami is already a complete character , there is no strong conflict or drive for him as the one which had driven the plot of season 1.

We already know everything about him.

Let me jump back to Gino for a brief moment, his first arc concluded when his father died and he became an enforcer, his current arc might be related to what I’ll get to in a second.

Season 3

Alright so here we are,a new season nobody was expecting and 2 new protagonists we expected even less.

Taking place in 2120 , 8 years after the events of Season 1 it follows Arata and Kei in their own CID adventures.

The tone of the series is vastly different from both S1 and S2, most notably :

it feels like those friendly buddy cop TV shows

the violence is greatly reduced, no more “shock value”

the side characters aren’t invested into, they’re just there for being there and plot devices (they’re alright, the new enforcers get some characterization but it’s not season 1 level)

Arata’s “skill” - if you think about it as high level empathy it’s gonna feel less dumb

Being new protagonists, the writers had to make sure we get to like them by offering us details about their past and what drives their motives, I’d say they did an ok job at that.

There’s no room for comparison to Akane and Kogami, those 2 are already established characters who have resolved story arcs and suffered changes.

Keep in mind Akane is 28 now and Kogami is 36, whereas the new protagonists are in their early 20s. They have time for character evolution, it’s easier to write new characters into the universe than deal with established ones such as Akane and Kogami.

Also, we see Kou visiting Akane while she’s in jail, her not being surprised means this may have happened before, which leads to further questions in the storylines that will definitely be explored in the new PP installments to follow:

Details on the incident which caused her to be in jail

What happened when Kogami returned to Japan and how the Sibyl system dealt with this

Kou reuniting with Ginoza, since both work for the hot blonde now

etc, you get the idea

First Inspector

It’s actually not that bad, I’m not going to spoil anything (well...not everything) but I suggest giving it a chance. If you don’t want to watch S3 just read about it and watch this, the most important things to take are from episode 3′s last scenes

Akane is released AS AN ENFORCER by Sibyl and will help Mika

Kogami is sent to get her, there will definitely be a recap between these two

Arata and Kei both have secrets regarding the case they worked on, not gonna spoil anything

Yayoi is alive, and will live with Shion. Just puttin this out there since they’re everyone’s favorite lesbians

Mika is still shit.

Gino is still based as fuck 

Also, there is a post credits scene with Akane saying something along the lines of “ let’s talk about the incident that got me jailed “ . This was only in the theatrical release so you can bet your ass we’re getting more PP in the future.

Thoughts

Lastly, what everyone needs to understand is that S1 made PsychoPass become a franchise. A franchise revolves around different characters in the same universe, sometimes the focus is on the OGs , but sometimes it isn’t.

I would like to note here that Gen Urobuchi is responsible for Season 1 (you know, the dude who wrote Madoka and other stuff like that...) and he did a great job writing a compelling story. Did he want PP to turn into a franchise? This I do not know and I have a feeling this might explain his absence from the later installments of the series. 

He wrote a complete story in 22 episodes which could have been left at that but seeing how well received the first season was it spawned a franchise.

What I want to say is please give Arata and Kei a chance (S3 protags) . They’re not that bad and they help the franchise stay alive as it seems they were pretty well received in Japan. Would you rather Mika be the main character again?! HELL NO

Now I love the main trio - Akane,Kou,Gino - as much as everyone but at this point they’re so high level it’d be hard to write a series just about them. Make one wrong move and the fanbase will hate you.

Also, this one is for all you Kogami x Akane shippers, I view their relationship as professional only but I’ll be damned if I didn’t scream at those 2 short scenes these 2 had in S3 and FI .Can’t wait to see the interactions between grown up Akane and seasoned peace-of-mind Kogami.

I really like “One Winged Angel”. I guess, I also like “Aerith Theme.” I’m happy that it’s always well received when it’s played at concerts. Honestly, when I made it, I didn’t think it would be popular. In the scenario, there was the line “Aerith waited. Every single day, she waited and waited.” So I made the song to match that scene which means, it wasn’t made for the scene in Forgotten City. The scene where Aerith waits for Zack at the station was first. It’s a song about “a poor girl who waits for someone who doesn’t come.”

My knowledge of Disney only extends to KH, both versions of Ducktales, and Three Caballeros, so I don’t recognize 98% of the duck characters. daisy huh... my opinions of her vary from “sure” to “ew” I guess. it largely depends on the source material... I feel in KH she is such a non character... even more so than usual. well in KH female characters tend to not be written great and Minnie and Daisy are really shoved to the side to the point it’s not even bad writing it’s no writing at all ??? like she is never seen interacting with Donald apart from uh I think the end of KH1 where she threatens and chase him? which is. yeah sure

iirc she didn’t show up in og DT... new DT is a very superficial attempt at “fixing” her but no matter how well-intentioned the writers are, inserting Daisy so late into the story AND as Donald’s love interest is not great and that fixing attempt is bound to fail I think. I have a lot of thoughts about that episode and I’m not going to go into details unprompted (literally WHO wants my ducktales rants?) but it sure makes me smile seeing people going HEALTHY DONDAISY!!! DAISY IS FIXED!!! in lot3c dondaisy is a central part of the story and hm. I wouldn’t mind Daisy being an obstacle to donald/straight up antagonistic if this didn’t fit in a misogynistic tradition of the Nagging Girlfriend Trope and I think a lot of writers can’t imagine a Daisy who isn’t that, sadly. It’s a shame especially in the Donald Duck’s Found Family Go On Funny Adventures All Around The (Supernatural) World show... I think Donald being torn between a trivial, normal, quiet lifestyle and an adventurous thrilling one is nothing new and it’s a theme that shows up in a lot of others media, be it comics or animation (It’s a running gag in Mickey Mouse2013 and Ducktales2017 deals with this horribly, but it’s really a long time thing in comic books too), and I usually like it! but instead of being an internal conflict, in LOT3C it’s symbolized by Daisy who works as an anchor into the “real world” and keeps pulling Donald back to it when frankly I’d rather see him (even begrudgingly) adventuring with his amigos. And I don’t mean that as a dumb “grrr daisy in the way of my cabs shipping” way, because I do think Xandra and April/May/June have great chemistry with Donald... if Daisy is an anchor into the real world, I believe AMJ is more of a bridge between reality and fantasy, and as such they are a lot more fun and a lot less frustrating. I do think you could have the whole thing with Donald having one foot into reality and one foot into the supernatural just in his relationship with Xandra. In short I think it’s def a case of writers wanting or having to put Daisy in but not being able to write her beyond being Donald’s annoying girlfriend and it’s a shame.

And if you think about it, if you remove Daisy’s Annoying Girlfriend status, literally who is she? She’s a character that  was initially written as a prize for Donald to win ; initially it’s the nephews who gets in his way, then Daisy herself, then Gladstone, etc etc. It has been a long tradition both in comics and animations for decades and no one up until recently bothered to give her something else. Historically there have been attempts but they are inconsistent, loosely defined, and most importantly always relate to being THE GIRL. She writes a diary that chronicles her Woman Problems such as her boyfriend being too ugly so she’s ashamed to go out with him ; or being jealous and petty about her female friends, etc... she has her friends over at the Women Club which is sometimes a charity, sometimes a feminist club, and most of the time a place where they throw girly parties where Donald has to be dragged in against his will... she has a superhero identity that revolves around “being a feminist” but really is about SHOWING THE DUDES WHO’S THE MOST CAPABLE SEX, and all in all her gags revolve around “haha women are so ridiculous” and “marriage is a prison”  So yeah, for a long time Daisy was built as a character that is just one misogynistic trope after the other and don’t have much of a direction, but also she’s historically known as Donald’s Girlfriend so somehow she has to be with him by mandate and my impression is that most writers are stuck with her and have no idea what to do with her... she has no life outside of Donald or any main character really so if she were to break up with him she’d have no reason to hang out with any of them. She could end up with Gladstone? but what even is the Daisy/Gladstone relationship in itself if it doesn’t revolve around Donald? Literally every other female characters have goals and something for themselves...Grandma has her farm and is a caring, support character for about everyone ; Brigitta is a skilled businesswoman who wants to end up with Scrooge ; Dickie is a teen and a reporter, etc etc. Daisy is Donald’s girlfriend and she makes his life harder. ok, which is a goal I guess ! but not a great one for a character sold as one of the Good Ones... and modern stories making her sweeter to Donald make for cute panels but it’s just removing one of her traits without giving her any new ones...

What’s sad is that in more modern times there have BEEN attempts at fleshing out Daisy- she’s a novelist, she’s a reporter, she works for Scrooge, she’s into fashion, she has AMJ, etc. Some writers are well aware of the Daisy Problem and it’s even adressed...

...so there is that conscious effort to flesh her out, but these efforts are so far too isolated and nothing tends to stick out much... and I mean, it’s difficult to almost completely rewrite a character when she has decades of history behind her already. But the efforts are here and I salute them... even though there are more or less well executed..I like MM13′s Daisy for her strong personality and her working independently from Donald - I think having her do stuff with Minnie, Clarabelle, and even being friends with Mickey etc helps a LOT (though this series is not free from Donald feeling stuck in his relationship with Daisy.. but it’s still miles better imo than their usual portrayal) 

so yeah I know that ask was originally about DonDaisy only but I think in order to know how I feel about them it’s.. good to know about how I feel about Daisy lol. In general I think they are stuck together by mandate when Daisy doesn’t have much to offer to Donald beyond Pain and Donald has better chemistry with literally. every other character ever. sorry if you didn’t ask about this wall of text lol but if you don’t know much about Daisy I guess here’s an overview of the character...

BASICS :     born in seattle, julian moved to fort elms when he was a whooping eleven years old. why, you don’t ask. well, because he got diagnosed with a gnarly case osteosarcoma and his father took ONE LOOK at that hospital bill and vanished into thin air, that’s why ! so, mommy dearest took her kids and skipped town as well. for less horrible reasons, of course. since then, his cancer has came and went and came back again. until finally it went for the last time, taking his leg with it as it did. he’s cancer free now ! three years and counting. we do love that for him … depressing facts aside, he’s in a punk rock band because we gotta Stick It To The Man. they suck but he’s decent on the drums and that’s all that matters. him. yeah, he’s a bit of a prick. a lovable prick. loves to play the devil’s advocate and hates talking about his feelings because ~ romantic trauma ~. but other than that, a decent guy, alright ! put some respect to his name.

ex - girlfriend :     bringer of trauma … she was his second ever girlfriend and their relationship was good, okay ! lasted almost two years. and then, without warning, she dumped him, THROUGH A NOTE. left without a word and that was that. a big bitch move, i’d say. 

mother :     the best mom there is ! worked three jobs to support her family after the deadbeat left, and is overall the best person juli knows and will ever know. she’s a second generation polish immigrant and very insistent on julian retaining his jewish heritage. pops was christian, so … gross. 

father :     not much to say about this bastard except he hasn’t spoken to his own children in thirteen years. not as much as a birthday card ! who knows where he is now. we’d like for him to be dead in a ditch but odds are he has a new family. i’d love for julian to knock him out, please hit me up for that. 

hospital buddies :     like i said, he spent most of his childhood in a hospital. so he must’ve made at least one friend there. they can be a teenager, they can be a senior citizen — as long as their friendship was thrust onto julian by sheer proximity and boredom. he’s obviously well now but i’d like for him to have a sliver of his past life close. 

DIMEO, BRANDON      —      thirty-five, mall cop.

BASICS :     very italian. a walking italian stereotype, really. his family is huge and he’s close with them all. too close. i’m talking yearly hunting trips, weekly family dinners, and a mother who still does his laundry. which means, yes, he’s a momma’s boy. a bit of a scrub, if you will. flopped out of the police academy in his early twenties, as he’d almost done high school, and settled for acting cop at the local mall. he’s a bit of a dumbass, and by a bit i mean a lot. unintelligent to the point where he can’t do basic math. emotionally unintelligent to the point where he can’t have a long - term relationship. we do love that. also a big fan of the charlie’s angels television series, AS HE SHOULD BE. he’d be an angel of charlie’s if he could be …

ex - girlfriend :     i’m talking first and only. probably didn’t get together until his mid - late twenties, and didn’t last that long either. probably had issues with his weird relationship with his mother, probably didn’t appreciate that he couldn’t clean his own house, probably wanted a man and not a little boy. she definitely dumped him. oh, well.

family :     he has A LOT. two parents ( i was gonna say obvi but is it obvi, i don’t think so. check yourself @ me ) and three brothers … but he’s the baby of the family, physically and mentally. i feel for his mother. i’d love for him to have a kid cousin, though. like one girl ( except his mommy ) he treats well. it’d be cute, shut up.

friends with benefits :     pretty self - explanatory. no strings attached, no commitment, no expectations … it’s all poor donnie here can muster in life. so do give it to him, please and thank. 

broskis :     he needs friends ! who aren’t other mall cops ( sorry egg take it up with HR ) … maybe dudes he’s known since high school, his OG home - boys. either to enable his antics or to call him out on his shit. i’ll take anything for brodawg over here. 

KINNEY, SAWYER      —      twenty-two, vet student.

BASICS :     god’s favorite. just kidding … i don’t think her love for him is much reciprocated. first dropped off as an infant @ the local church’s doorstep, then adopted. all is well ! no, her adoptive parents die in a car crash thirteen years later. she was there, too. sole survivor … even her baby brother passing away in the accident. shit’s tough, my dudes. she still has her older siblings, but who cares about them. was diagnosed with epilepsy shortly after ( she hates it, thanks ) and now lives with a disorder to remind her even more of the event. BIG YIKE LET’S MOVE ON … she’s a ray of sunshine ! loves animals and soccer to death. a social butterfly with no concept of personal space. insistent on not minding her business, plagued by a constant need to be liked by EVERYONE. book smart, emotionally intelligent … yet a whole dumbass. we love to see it.

soccer pals :     captain of the local girl’s soccer team, since seventeen baby, sawyer’s in dire need of her soccer pals. y’all ever see the netflix original girls with balls ? yeah, me neither, but that could still be them versus the zombies. they’re all so close and athletic i NEED them to team up against the undead.

toxic church friends :     i’m not calling christianity toxic … i’m calling white church going pinterest loving bitches toxic. i just think it’d be neat for her to have people from that part of her life really pushing this ~ religious agenda ~ onto her further. you know, shaming everything that she does. BASICS :     born in fort elms as rowan blake, this teensy bitch had a good life going. two parents, three older siblings, one cool ass dog… you get the gist. but all things must come to an end, no ? so, when rowan here was five years old, she was approached by a teenage girl by the name ryan, and booboo the fool as she was, rowan followed this older, much cooler girl right into a stranger’s car… and then rowan was no more ! she spent the next year thirteen years of her life as kevin oswalt, living with her new sister and new mother — creepily nicknamed mama. to say her life with the oswalt’s was good would be… well, it’d be a lie. because kevin wasn’t the first kid they ‘napped, and neither was she the last. lets just say that house was a shit - fest and we should be glad she managed to run away at the tender age of seventeen. by sheer luck, she wound up back in fort elms and by even more luck, she managed to get an education and graduate. unrealistic ? take it up with 2016 me. other than that super fun backstory, kevin’s baby. she likes books  ( always has, though it was her only form of entertainment for a good chunk of her life there )  and she likes french fries. she’s still discovering the world around her, even if she has been out and about for about four - ish years now. so if she’s a BIT NAIVE, then excuse her…

ex - boyfriend :     not to go into too many details but kev’s introduction to the dating scene was less than ideal… barely legal and kept under wraps for A YEAR. it sucked, okay. not a good first experience, IN MY OPINION. kevin has another but she’s stupid. EITHER WAY, that left her kinda fucked - up when it comes to relationships. so, when she started dating her other ex circa summer 2017, she was pretty not - that - into - him. sorry we can’t all be over our 30 year old boyfriends… she never even said those three little words and them bitches dated for a year. TRAGIQUE.

brother :     tragically, throughout the years, kevin’s brother is the single family member not picked up and that’s just… fucked, if you ask me. either way — his name is marcus blake but you can change his first to whatever ! he’s the sibling she was closest to as a wee bairn, alright. and i need him here… even if he wouldn’t know her as his sister anymore, but seeing as kev has managed to weasel her way into the blake family through mother and sisters REGARDLESS if anybody remembers or not, i’d say they’d cross paths anyway. oh, and he’s in a band… which isn’t to say juli’s, i mean it could be, but that’s not what i’m saying… anyways, that’s all.

BASICS :     flaky defined. dropped out of high school, dropped out of california, dropped out of her own wedding … i mean, the list goes on. originally from mexicali, mexico odette moved to chino, california at the ripe age of five. her mother then proceeded to lose custody six years later. * that one vine vc * WAY TO GO, PAUL ! in and out of foster care since, eventually choosing to stay out for the remainder of her teens. until she got herself knocked up ( not by choice but ait ) and was forced to move back in with mommy … but hey, it all turned out fine in the end ! and when her daughter was four years old, she dipped forever. she’s since been living all over the states, only moving to fort elms five - ish years ago. and has indeed stayed put since. even if she did manage to pull a runaway bride. a bit of a bitch move, but at least she’s consistent. ish. because she’s not a bitch, okay, she’s simply … out of fucks to offer the world. can i get an amen.

ex - fiancé :     like i said … left at the altar, that’s gotta knock you down a peg. or two. but she didn’t mean to stomp on his balls like that. in fact, they were very much in love at one point. dated for about two years until marriage was brought up and well, cold feet took over. and there’s no coming back from being a no show at your own wedding, is there. so that was that. marriage over before it even started. they didn’t get much of closure but that’s life for you.

mother :     a horrible mother, plain and simple. she was in and out of jail when odette was in her custody, mostly due to drug related charges which was … not cute, girlie was like eight years old. though who knows, maybe she’s cleaned up her act, and maybe she’s ready to get back in her daughter’s life. or maybe she’s just looking for money … either way, get miss marisa to washington !

employees :     i want … snotty teens, or early twenties bitches that she’ll have to manage. she’s had it with her own daughter, why not add more children for her to boss around. that, or somebody at work who she doesn’t wanna clock. an ally amongst the flowers. 

chino friends :     odette did indeed spend her early to mid teens on the streets and she must’ve made some friends along the way except for kai ( here’s your one mention of the simp @ salem ) … either some bad influences or some good ones. y’all ever seen the movie thirteen ? exactly like that. give me some blasts from the past to bring out the old odette.

Oh SHIT, the scissorman is REAL??? I ran across that scary bastard in the Doom Patrol comic, but when I couldn’t find him anywhere else I assumed Grant Morrison made him up. It was quite a shock to load up your tumblr and find Jojo Scissorsman staring me in the face! If you wanna explore more horrifying German children stories, I also recommend “Max & Moritz” by Wilhelm Busch, the OG “it’s just a prank bro” tale, a story about two asshole kids who “prank” people by hurting, traumatizing and mutilating them, and just generally ruining their lifes in other ways, for absolutely no reason.(Animal cruelty ahead)

Wilhelm Busch has written a lot of short stories, there’s a lot to see there, I distinctively remember one about two burglars who try to escape out of a tall building by jumping with their umbrellas open, hoping it will work like a parachute, but instead they stab each other in the dick and die.

Also, the original versions of the Grimm fairy tale collection are pretty horrifying. Everyone dies for some reason. We had this really really old book and I remember even the rabbit from the rabbit and the hedgehog doesn’t just lose the race, he runs so hard that his artery explodes and he breaks his neck on a rock when he falls and bleeds out while the fucking hedgehogs celebrate (quote from my grandma while she was reading it to me: “hm, that’s pretty unnecessary”)

If you have a morbid fascination with the kind of shit kids in German speaking countries grow up with to this day, go ahead and see if you can find some translations! Please keep in mind that these are all 19th century and older, so there’s probably some really not cool shit in it.

Hi Buddy your Secret Santa is back!! My apologies for not turning up more frequently. I do wish that I could pop in every day but life, ya know?

Anyway. I got an idea for a story, I got the vibes and the opening scene playing like a movie in my head. And I have some questions.

I have gathered that you are a Nessian fan. Awesome! I want to know more. What draws you to them as a couple and individually? How did you like ACOSF? Any opinions on Nesta’s relationship with her sisters? Basically, if you’ve been looking a forum to share your feelings, I want to hear it!

I’ve written Nesta before in an attempt to figure out her character, and she is still intriguing to me. So this is a welcome challenge, despite the fact that I’m worried my interpretation won’t live up to your standards. 😅

And finally, since I saw the question of the day— what’s something you dislike about the series? What’s something you would change? Looking forward to hearing something controversial lol

So, yes. I am a huge Nessian fan. I also love Feysand!! They're my OGs. But Nessian is.. just top tier. Can't beat it. Can't join it. Might as well bask in their presence.

I first fell in love with Nesta in the first book after Feyre returns from Spring Court and it's revealed that Nesta went to the wall to try to find Feyre and bring her home. Like... yes she is shitty to Feyre at the beginning of ACOTAR. Beyond shitty. But then learning that she went to save Feyre without any real plan or backup or ANYTHING? Just by her lonesome? And also she noticed that Feyre felt uncomfy at the ball in her honor and helped to keep suitors away from Feyre as a shield. Just. That's sisterhood in my opinion. You're not always gonna get along, you're not always gonna like each other. But you're always gonna be there for each other.

Part of what also drew me to Nesta was her complicated relationship with her father's death. I found ACOTAR back in spring after my own estranged biological father died, and I really related with all of the complicated feelings of grief that Nesta felt for her father. I'm not gonna get too into it because I'm a lil tipsy, but yeah. It hit home big time for me, and that's when I super duper became a Nesta fan or bust.

For Cassian, I honestly fell in love with him at Feyre and his first interaction. He's just such a sweetheart?? All he wants is for his friends and family to be happy?? Fuck fam.

Nessian as a whole I fell in love with when I realized that they're that couple, and really the only ones, who see each other beyond the mask they both wear. Nesta sees Cassian as more than just the comedic-relief friend, and Cassian sees Nesta as more than just the ice-cold bitch. There's also something to be said for that dynamic of happy-go-lucky meets no-one-can-know-I-have-feelings.

For ACOSF, when I first read through it I loved it. I loved exploring Nesta's trauma and her emotions that she wouldn't let herself experience. But after decompressing and really digging myself into the fandom... I think my friend Liz said it best when she said ACOSF was just yoga-ing through your trauma and saying it worked. I would have loved more difficult conversations, like between the sisters or between Nesta and the IC that really allowed them to see and understand each other. idk hating each other until Nesta saves Feyre's life, which is as stated by many people the bare minimum when it's your sister, is just... lazy? idk. But the emotions in that book were phenomenal.

As for the sisters, I really just think that they are all very different people - and they don't need to be BFFFFFFFs for life or anything because it's just not realistic. It can be, but for how they've all been written thus far it's not happening anytime soon. As someone who's turing 25 in a week and a half, canonically they're all still basically children/young adults and it's honestly more fun for the readers or just me idk that they're not super close best friends. They've now got hundreds of years to work out their relationship and their problems, and there's gonna be tons of ups and downs.

Nesta is super intriguing, I agree - I myself am still hesitating to explore her character and write lol even tho I think it's the best starting point to get back into it. So there's no worries about meeting any standards! And honestly, if you're more comfortable with writing Feyre I LOVE her too and would welcome anything Feyre/Feysand. There is absolutely no pressure, I'm just beyond excited for the fact that someone's writing something for me?? like it's an honor legitimately.

Question of the day time! Something I dislike about the series is probably the switch from Feyre's 1st person to Nesta's third person. it's a lil jarring. And everything I said about ACOSF. I want CONFRONTATION. I want DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS. I also need to reread the series because I've only actually read it all the way through once, with rereading a few scenes every here or there.. oops.
