i love the unsleeping city chapter 2 but i have a really stupid pet peeve about it
it's such a small thing, but when brennan talks about willy being frozen and says that there's one letter in the middle and one to the right, i get a little miffed
because the word that is supposed to be there is emet (אמת) meaning truth, and when willy is frozen it becomes met (מת) meaning death
and as you can see, that would be one letter in the middle and one to the LEFT, because hebrew is written right to left and not left to right
i know brennan does a lot of research and talks to a lot of consultants to try and be as accurate as possible, but i spent a lot of time when i was younger writing the beginning of a story about a girl awakening a golem and have a lot of knowledge on that subject, plus i'm jewish and know the word and how hebrew works
it's a really tiny dumb tidbit but it gets to me

Absolutely! This was a bit of a tricky one, but it was interesting and fun to do. I couldn't really find any names of evil female knights, so instead I found some names that had meanings related to evil/negative stuff, related to black or darkness since evil knights are also often called black knights or dark knights, or that just seemed like they'd make good names for an evil knight.
Femme Evil Knight Names:
Morgan/Morgaine/Morgana: a sorceress from Arthurian legends. Not really a knight name per se, but it's the first one that came to mind.
Delaney: dark challenger, dark river. Irish.
Darcy: dark one, from Arcy (d'Arcy, 'of Arcy', which I think is a village in France?), from the fortress. Irish or French.
Kiera/Ciara: little dark one. Irish.
Kerry: dark, dark-haired. Irish.
Carey: dark, black. Irish.
Brenna: descendant of the sad one. Irish.
Brennan: raven, sorrow, drop, brave. Irish.
Brone: sorrowful. Irish.
Devany: dark-haired. Irish.
Kerrin: black. Irish.
Zelda/Griselda: grey battle-maid. German.
Maeve: intoxicating, she who rules. Irish.
Branwen: beautiful, blessed raven. Welsh.
Carey: black. Gaelic.
Brenna: raven, black-haired. Gaelic.

Onyx: word name. A black gemstone.

Raven: word name. A black corvid.

Lilith: belonging to the night, night monster, demon, spirit. Character in Jewish folklore, first wife of Adam, mythical she-demon.
Eris: Ancient Greek goddess of discord and strife.
Mara: bitterness. Hebrew.
Rue: word name. A bitter-tasting herb with yellow flowers, formerly used as a medicinal herb, can be used in cooking to flavour food, although only with small amounts since it's toxic. Also a word meaning to bitterly regret something.
Lyssa: Ancient Greek goddess of rage, blind fury, crazed frenzy, and rabies in animals
Bela: destruction. Hebrew.
Bellona: Roman war goddess.
Belladonna: another name for the plant deadly nightshade. Literally translates to 'beautiful lady' in Italian.
Hela, Hella, Hel: Norse goddess of the underworld/afterlife.
Nyx: Ancient Greek goddess of night.
Thana: death. Arabic.
Some names of villainous knights that I could find from some cursory research into Arthurian legends are Mordred (meaning 'controlled', 'moderated', Welsh), Agravain (meaning 'bitter' or 'sharp', Welsh), Maleagant (can't find the meaning), and Garlon (variant of 'garland', English). They're all masc names, but I thought I'd include them just in case you wanted some more traditional evil knight names for inspiration or something.
