Tell me about A Young Man’s Game 👀

Oh boy, well...A Young Man's Game is the first fic I ever started. I finished AWTWB and was a wreck. ha. You know. Just hangover central. (I mean, a year later I'm still there)

I hadn't found the fandom yet, I was all alone and wrestling with these overwhelming feelings and some really big questions in my own life that these books were really pushing to the surface and forcing me to work through and I was drowning.

I needed to know what happened next for Simon and Baz. I needed to see them continue on...to be together, to each stay by the other's side. To continue to open, to process their trauma, to allow love in to heal and to grow.

Eventually, I found the fandom and all of you! ❤️ This fic is the first I shared snippets of on Tumblr. It's still a WIP, and sometimes I worry I'll never finish it, although I do continue to work on it sporadically...I also feel a bit like Cath in Fangirl now where I feel I need to finish this before Rainbow puts out Snow for Christmas this fall.

Here's a bunch of random info! This fic picks up shortly after AWTWB ends and deals with them working through their trauma, talking about therapy, making love, attending Fiona and Nico's wedding (which is just the 4 of them, small and intimate and lovely), times they are so happy and ok, and times they break down and cry because of the overwhelm of it all, but always they have each other. Simon begins running to deal with his mental health. He tells Baz he wouldn't mind if he wore his football gear sometime, while grabbing at his fit thighs. 😆🥵

Baz continues to be an enigma, so strong and yet tender, generally refusing to accept that he needs therapy as well, determined and goal-oriented with school, but also so worried for Simon at one point that he considers pushing back a semester of school. Which Simon freaks out about and absolutely refuses to allow Baz to do.

They hold each other. They love. They touch. They stay.

Fun fact, this fic has been written *almost* entirely to Fleet Foxes album "Shore". It came out at the same time as AWTWB and I just, god, I listened to it so much...it felt so in line with so much of what Simon and Baz were going through. It basically became a concept album for my fic. 😂

ok we’re so close to awtwb so im gonna post here what i think is gonna happen and just wait to see how it goes

baz is gonna bite simon, simon is going to find out about lucy, snowbaz is going to break up for a little while, baz is going to fully embrace his vampirism and is either going to leave the world of mages or try to reform it, someone from baz’s family is going to die (pretty sure rr said someone’s gonna die and i think its one of the pitches??? maybe fiona, idk, i cant imagine anyone else dying, maybe mitali, or agathas father??mother??ok idk), simon wont get his magic back, baz and simon will move in together at the end, penny and shepard will kiss, agatha will accept herself as a magician but wont be an active part within the world of mages (i think she’s gonna go back to california), the problem at watford has something to do with dark creatures and the old families
