Posting for accountability to myself - I will never be pressured to see anyone other than my regular vet again

Ponzi’s annual was supposed to be tomorrow, but they talked me into squeezing it in earlier today, I think because they want to close tomorrow due to the weather. Like ok, I really wanted to get it done early for once so ok. But I didn’t realize it was with a different vet until after switching.

And she was fine. She was nice enough. Ponzi weighed in at 47.5 lbs and I mentally went “woah, ok, she is chubby. I need to get her in shape for lure coursing.” And then the vet said “that’s pretty good, but you can always add more weight, yeah?”

And immediately followed with “is there a reason you’re leaving her intact?”

And I guess I’ve been pretty lucky bc my regular vet literally asked exactly once, at Ponzi’s very first appt about spaying, and when I let her know I wasn’t planning it she had them make a note not to ask or send out spay reminders. She’s also always super pleased with the girls’ weights, even when I expressed worries about them being a bit underweight.

And idk, it’s so small in the scheme of things but it’s also been so long since I’ve felt like I have to defend my dogs to a professional and it kinda just sucked. I’m out of practice.

Anyways, next time I’ll make sure I only see my regular vet
