hi. you can call me a (it stands for whatever you want it to, send me your guesses if you want). i like fighting type pokemon, music, and traveling, so you'll see some posts about that. i'm an adult and any pronouns are fine.

i've been meaning to update this blog with a fancified account for a hot minute since i got a (frankly surprising) amount of followers from this post--originally, when i started pokeblogging, i was mainly just intending to interact with my friends and they more or less know what i'm about. i think that, since i'm planning on kicking this blog back to life with an event, it's fair that everyone have some basic information about me, what i will and won't interact with, and my character.

for me: hi, i'm eve. i'm also an adult (21) who uses any pronouns, like my character, but that's where a lot of our similarities end, lol. as i'll elaborate on a bit later, this blog is sfw and i don't care if minors follow/interact, but i want this info out there so people can set boundaries as they feel they need to. i'm not excessively familiar with pokeblogging but i've been roleplaying on and off in various places for a long time! i'm wordy and i can be a bit blunt but i promise i'm friendly and would love to rp or talk :3

general boundary-setting:

like aforementioned, anything to be posted on this blog is sfw. for clarifying purposes, this refers to sexual content exclusively, and not necessarily violent content. any interactions of explicit natures will be ignored, and i would rather not extensively interact with any predominantly nsfw blogs; i'm happy to write with sfw sideblogs though! i want this blog to be safe for all ages; generally, i aim to maintain a pg-13 rating, so (for other adult muses only, please) mildly suggestive flirting that fits within that rating is fine!

i'm not familiar with all of the pokeblogging terms, but as a general rule of thumb, i'll interact with any kind of rp blog. canon protagonists, oc protagonists, fallers, sapient pokemon, it's all cool with me. however, i'd rather not interact extensively with any non-rp blogs, because...

i do my best to keep ic and ooc interactions purely separate. i am not generally comfortable interacting ic to ooc, ooc to ic, which means i politely ask you not to reblog my posts (with additions) on non-rp blogs because i will ignore them. asks from non-rp blogs are fine on or off anon as long as they aren't intended to be long-form interactions. i just need it abundantly clear that i am not my character and my character is not me.

about the character:

all of this information below is ooc and most muses have no way to know it. there will be hints for attentive muses but please don't pull anything revealing on him without letting me, the mun know beforehand.

a is an oc protagonist for legends arceus. he is alive in a day close to the present, primarily hanging around in paldea. he looks like a particularly haggard thirty-something, and that's the age range he claims, but he has lived for over a century. he has protagonist-level knowledge of the base game canon and will interact with legends arceus characters with that knowledge in mind. also, warning for a canon-typical complicated relationship with arceus/god figures in general.

a is not his real name. i would say she wouldn't give out her real name, except an attentive muse might notice this blog's connection to @snowpointmailguy at some point. the connection is that they're the same person, from two different points on the timeline. snowpointmailguy is drew pre-hisui timejump, lopunnears is drew many years post-hisui timejump.

various heavy content warnings may apply; i will tag to the best of my ability but feel free to ask if something is showing up frequently that i'm not tagging. if i start any major arc that will have frequent sensitive material, i'll make an announcement post warning for it!

I was about to go to sleep, but than a sudden idea came to mind for what I could answer this was so here we go last one before I go to bed.

Alexis would actually be more comfortable with It/its pronouns. They feel so utterly divorced from the gender binary, and treat their body as something to mold/shape/play in ways that whenever possible are outside of what society expects that it makes them like the idea of using it/its. There's other reasons as well, but at the end of the day the simple answer is that "it would be most comfortable if others referred to it as, in fact, it". Do they ever tell anyone this though? No. Why not? Two reasons.

Reason 1: Alexis the muse cannot be bothered to have to argue for 20 minutes with everyone they meet that "yes you can call me it, no please do not call me she or him or, oh for fucks sake..." particularly since a lot of the time if they are interacting with someone they don't expect to interact with a 2nd time they wont actually correct the person with their "correct" pronouns. They absolutely get called she, her, he, him, on a regular basis and just can't be bothered to correct someone they probably wont ever see again. When it comes to their personal life and a potential partner, or whoever else at that point Alexis has had that person using "they/them" for so long Alexis doesn't want to change things and also doesn't want to have the discussion about "it/its in private, they/them in public cause people get even MORE weird about it/its than they/them and so can you... UGH I HATE GENDER AND HOW WEIRD PEOPLE GET ABOUT IT". So they never exactly get the "right" pronouns applied to them, they just get the "closest to right/least wrong if not completely right" pronouns applied to them.

Reason 2: I, the mun, cannot be bothered to argue about if It/its are "valid pronouns" or not to be perfectly blunt.

with this in mind, the metas i write are portrayal specific to this blog, so please give them a read! i know i can be rather wordy- anyone who has followed me elsewhere may know this, but for my first time followers, worldbuilding is one of my favorite things to do. i am particularly fond of analysis of character psychology.

((so i was gonna open up my askbox again but I got distracted doing this and watching streams i think idr what i did the past few hours, buuut there's something I need to cover first, especially since there are so many new people around! Hello! Especially since so many of you are playing OCs/MCs.

Don't worry, it's a tip to hopefully help you along! It may get a little long, especially as I try and provide examples. . .but hopefully it'll help.

I'm gonna talk a lot about OCs but this applies to canon characters too a bit. It certainly helps.

Tl;dr, you should have a character profile page.

(also remember that tumblr mobile doesn't really have direct access to Pages made with the Pages function on desktop, so you'll have to link them manually in your pinned or description or host them on another site(I used Google Docs in the apst) or in a regular post(this makes it very easy to lose as a forewarning) for maximum accessibility!)

(rules pages are also really really handy if you have alot of resteictions.)

So, in general, OCs have a bit of a lower reception rate in rp. Idk if that'll be the case here with MCs because they're, well, the main character. Housamo is also a series that lends itself well to OCs pretty well, especially non-human ones, but I figured I'd warn for that.

BUT. That doesn't mean you shouldn't play an OC! It just means there are things you need to keep in mind!

Think of all of the OCs you've seen--you all seem to be fun and wonderful people, and your characters are surely interesting. But. . .if you don't tell anybody about them, nobody will know what's going on or where to start, which makes asking questions a little hard, right? That's easier to work around with MC characters--we've played the game, we know the story, we know the characters, so we can figure out questions fairly easily based on that alone and go from there.

But with other OCs, especially those that don't represent charactera from mythology or fiction like many other characters in housamo do, there's like. Nowhere to start. We may see a face or some dialogue, but otherwise we don't have a frame of reference.

That's where a profile comes in!

Azazel-mun, I don't want to share all of the info about my character at once!

What if I don't know everything about my OC yet and want to figure it out along thw way?

The profile doesn't have to be super detailed! At most it shoule include things like the character's name and age and probably things like their location, profession, grade in school or place of work, etc., and anything you'd notice on the surface like their apperance. It's never a bad thing to include a description of their personality too, or a small section about their history/background. Little things that even you should probably know, too.

You can also section your profile off a bit into things like "surface info," "meta info," "things you could easily figure out about them," etc. That way, no one can spoil themself. Making lists like this can help you think these things through if you haven't already as well.

Let's use Azazel, a character that you probably know already, as an example here. I don't have a profile set

Name: Azazel

Species: Fallen Angel; Capra Therian - an anthropomorphic Goat (?)

Gender(pronouns): Male(he/him)

Age: difficult to calculate; several thousand years old?

Apperance age: hard to say, he's not human. Adult.

Origins: banished from his home world of Eden, has been in the human world for several thousand years

Profession: Priest of dubious denomination, most likely Catholic or Protestant; teacher at Daikanyama Academy; de facto head of the Missionaries Non-Profit charity Organization; supervisor of the Aoyama Missionaries

Role & Rule: Watcher; Revelation - allows him to see anything within the territory of the Aoyama Missionaries and anywhere the pages of his Artifact see

Apperance: Azazel is a 5'10"(180cm) tall, anthropomorphic goat of ambiguous breed, with fawn fur all over his body and lighter fur on his head and around his neck. He has brown, riged horns which curve out and back. Though his eyes are often closed, when opened they're red. He always carried around a leather bound bible with an eye on the cover, and is never seen without several chains on his person, although only the one(s) around his neck can be seen unless he's undressed.

He wears a black priest's cassock with a maroon sash and a capelet of the same color, with the same eye as on his bible on the shoulders of the cape, and brown dress shoes. The front of the robe is always open to expose his bare chest and the chains beneath.

Personality: Azazel is kind and doting, very fitting of both a teacher and priest, although his openly flirtatious, lustful, and secretive nature causes others to distrust him. He doesn't mind this at all. He has a strong adoration for humans, and values love in all of its forms more than anything. He's a bit of a passive person, often being unmotivated but working hard regardless, and seems to prefer to watch others and the world go by, although he won't decline most invitations to take part in it. He is always aware of anything that happens within the extensive territory of the Missionaries, and seems to know and see just about everything about anyone he meets, from their surface to their soul. . . .

If you know Azazel, or take note of some of the wording or question marks, you'll note I didn't explain everything(although I may have shared more than you want to.) This is just a bare bones exampe of how I do my profiles--but it can get even more bare!

I'll do two this time, a more vague version of Azazel's, and another that obscures information all together, using the same or a similar format to the above.

Name: Azazel

Species: anthropomorphic goat

Gender(pronouns): male (he/him)

Age: unquestionably an adult

Origins: Eden

Profession: Priest; teacher; head of a charity NPO; member of the Missionaries

Apperance: Horned goatman of slightly above average human height. Light brown fur, blond fur-hair, red eyes. Wears priest robes and a gold chain around his neck and chest. Carries around a bible with an eye on it?

Personality: Kind of eerie, but friendly and affectionate. A little flirtatious, especially towards humans. Seems to know everything about people for some reason?

Compare it to the one before--see how I've left even more things off or left things ambiguous while still sharing what's necessary or surface level? However, it's also not as engaging or as informative as the other one where I gave more information.

As someone who plays him, profiles like this aren't as helpful for me lol since he knows so much about everyone and everything, having a lot of details helps me play my character!

Now, as helpful as this is, this is also a character you probably know. So how about I do this with an OC? Normally I'm extremely detailed in my profiles and such, especially for OCs, sharing headcanons and ideas for relationships between characters. But, again, I'll try and show how you can show some info while leaving some up to people to ask about to later be filled in.

Apperance: A fidgety woman who looks older than she is. She looks anxious and confused as often as she looks curious and confident. Wavy light brown hair. Often carries around schoolbooks and is never alone, always with a Rattus Therian and often with a Nyarlathotep.

Personality: seemingly anxious, but curious and exploratative nonetheless. On the awkward side, but can still keep up with the Nyarls that accompany her. Gets into trouble when she gets ahead of herself in exploring and learning about the arcane, but her Rule allows her to disappear easily.

History: Has always been curious about magic and attempted to run through a Gate when they began to open up. Performed a summon and brought a certain transients to Tokyo and recieved her familiar and the magic to use her Rule as a result. Currently teaches at a college. She stumbled into a certain someone while attempting to explore time, and became a fan ever since.

That tells you a fair amount, doesn't it? Even for someone you don't know? It may even raise some questions that you could ask. At the same time, it doesn't tell you that much, and that can be as much of a hindrance for coming up with questions as saying too much can. It's really up to you what's too much and too little. Here's a more detailed version! Some things have been left vague or confusing in such a way that they could be filled in after being revealed through asks and play. That way, people are encouraged to/given ideas of what to ask--and you can still share things in the long run.

Artifact, Summon, Familiar?: Always accompanied by at least one Nyarlathotep and some sort of man-rat? She also carries around a book that's labeled as a Grimoire, but it's rare for someone to be both a summon-user and an Artifact-user. . . .

Apperance: A fidgety older woman wearing a labcoat and a witch's hat. She looks quite stressed and has trouble sitting still. Her ashy brown hair is thin and a little wavy, with some strands of gray. Although she often squints, she doesn't wear glasses. She carries around a lot of books relating to maths and sciences and one labeled 'Grimoire' decorated with arcane symbols from Gehenna and Old Ones. She's always accompanied by at least one Nyarlathotep and a very short, bearded man who can best be described as a brown rat therian with a human-like face. Sometimes there's a normal rat on her person or in her pockets.

Personality: Kezia is a fidgety and anxious magic practitioner. She's very curious about other worlds and has been since the Gates appeared in this Tokyo since she was a child, however she has been pursuing magic before then. She often appears somewhat confused about or fascenated by even her usual surroundings, but, at other times moves through the world with confidence even in unfamiliar territory. She also likes rats and other rodents, and as such will often avoid felines and birds of prey. She has a tendency to disappear, seeming to walk through walls despite assuredly being alive.

She's a little bit awkward with people, but somehow keeps up with Nyarlathoteps nonetheless. She's a good teacher, once she figures out how to explain things in ways others can understand easily, but can be a bit difficult to follow and flighty up until then. Aware of this, she's rather patient, if a little down on herself at times. However, she most often simply has her mind elsewhere. Despite this and the company she keeps, she's relatively sane. . .most of the time.

She shares a name with a witch from the world of Old Ones who made a pact with Nyarlathotep, believing him to be the Devil. . .and the ratman always at her side uses the same name as that witch's familiar as well. It's. . .probably just a coincidence. . .who would rightfully make a pact with Nyarlathotep?

History: Kezia is an adult human from this Tokyo before the apperance of the Gates and construction of the Walls. She's explored various witchcraft pursuits since she was a child, with what was originally a mere imaginative curiosity and fascination. After the arrival of the Gates when she was still young, she snuck over the fences built around one and attempted to go inside the massive pillar of light, which she attributes to the reason she often seems to struggle with her vision. Several years later, she performed a successful summon and she recieved her familiar, Brown Jenkin, transformed into a somewhat therian form from one of her pet rats, and was given some powers from Nyarlathotep. She has no discernable control over any of the chaotic creatures, however they seem to spend time around her regardless.

At present she's a professor of a subject that interests her at a certain college. She's had other dangerous run-ins due to her excitement over the arcane and "darker" arts, but doesn't seem to show any signs of stopping. However, after an incident in an attempt to explore time itself, she encountered a certain guardian of time and feels reluctant for once to explore it further. . .although she's become quite a big fan of his.

. . .i ran out of steam amd kinda lost track of where i was going. idk if that helped at all really. But maybe it did! I hope it did. You don't need to use any of those things exactly by any means, but that's the kind of thing you usually see in profile pages. Basics like someone's name and birthday and age and apperance and a little about their personality, maybe some history. Oftentimes things like powers and weapons and the like. Interests, hobbies, ways they could be intereacted with, etc. Just stuff that'd help you know the character.

I write everything in paragraph form, but everyone is more than welcome to use a more script format. I love making profiles, myself--it really helps to think about the character and details about them. Normally I make really, really detailed profiles, but maybe I'll try and be more simple about it this time around. depends on how i'm feeling.

I know this seems weirdly hypocritical given I don't have one but when I first made this blog there were like four of us including myself. I didn't see the need for a rules or profile page because I didn't anticipate that there'd be so many of us or, like, people from other fandoms or who aren't familiar with certain characters. I'll rectify that soon hopefully. But I figured I'd pass along this idea/knowledge to others.

i was gonna go to wrestling school because nothing thrills me more than bodyslamming the shit outta someone or at least be able to get them held up in a figure four lock. was gonna front missile drop kick my way to the top! i did a lot of military / marine style fitness in high school. but due to Injuries™... womp womp. i am now returning to my job as a preschool teacher soon. i am hesitant because we are still in a deadly Pancake.

1) triggers / tagging

now, if you read my rules/ooc page, as you should have, you’ll know i have a few that i like tagged for myself. with that said, i tend to tag most every triggering topic in ‘trigger tw’ format cos blacklist picks that up a lot easier. alcohol by itself is often not tagged, same with drug use. alcoholism, addiction, etc is.

never feel bad about coming to me to get me to tag something. i swear i’ve read your rules, but i do sometimes forget or i don’t know where certain lines are. because where your limits are and where mine are, are different. so let me know if you need me to tag something.

with that said, a lot of my muses have triggers in their history that often comes up. transphobia, abuse, addiction, self harm, anxiety, depression, sexual assault, and eating disorders/disordered eating are actually pretty common. if these are something you don’t want brought up but still want to write with a muse, let me know and we’ll avoid all that completely. but i can’t avoid it if you don’t tell me.

i don’t write actively non-consensual things, usually because many of my characters have dealt heavily with situations in their past and because it’s hella uncomfortable for me to write. if i ever do, it will be tagged, probably, ad nauseam. i do tag whenever abuse, rape, etc is mentioned but i don’t tend to go into details. however, i do write a lot of kink and some of it can be seen as more forceful in nature. if y’all need me to tag that, or anything at all, please let me know. if i ever miss a tag on something, feel free to drop me a message, on anon or in IMs, however is best for you. i’ll make sure i go back and tag and make sure to take extra care to tag it in the future. if you need me to tag something in a different way than i am, all you gotta do is message me. i’m a chill human, i promise. i don’t bite.

2) transphobia / misgendering in threads

so, i’m okay with initial. minor, misgendering for nonbinary muses, between characters (and by this i mean like once, twice tops during a first meeiting). someone mistaking a muse like joss or ash for a woman, kieran for a man, etc. or a muse like ziv who isn’t out being referred to as woman until they come out to a character. totally fine.

with that said, i won’t tolerate obvious, repeated offenses. i understand accidents happen, but i would like you to put in that effort to get their pronouns right. certain muses will refer to themselves in gendered ways and that’s then open for use. joss, for example, will refer to themself as a boy so another muse could do that after the fact.

now, a muse like quinton, on the other hand, there is no base for misgendering him, he is a trans man and unless otherwise plotted (in very specific instances) i won’t accept misgendering of him.

i will also write out situations where muses are dealing with transphobia from NPCs, especially quinton, given his source material. for more information about quinton and his transphobia storylines, read here.

3) shipping

high key just tell me. i am usually down for ships to happen. often times i’ll ship something but feel awkward telling you that i ship it despite really liking the dynamic. i’m a shy bean. just know, if you choose to ship with me, i will hit you with feels like a metal chair to the face at likely any moment.

4) ooc chatting

speaking of being a shy bean and hitting people with feels, i fucking love to chat ooc but i also have really bad anxiety and don’t always know how to reach out to people. including people who message me first. i also often have a varying, but generally low, threshold for ooc conversations but especially with people who are not already within my bubble of friends (this bubble is occasionally one person big and they know who they are). it’s literally not y’all. sometimes you’ll message me and i just won’t have the threshold needed for that message and it might sit for a while. always feel free to send me another if it’s been a few days, cos i also might have opened it and forgot. you’re not annoying me, i promise. also, feel free to ask for my disc # if you have that, cos i’m always on there.

5) memes / inbox things

i am the literal worst at replying to shit in my inbox. at this moment there are 40+ things in my inbox. most of those have been there for months. i’m sorry. i’m baymax. i’m slow.

6) reply length / reply time

my reply length and time it takes me to reply is going to vary so drastically. sometimes you’ll get a novel reply in half an hour, or you might get a paragraph after 3 months. it’s not a lack of interest, i promise, but i work with what the muses give me and sometimes a muse is on fire and sometimes the muse is gone. and i promise, if i ever want to drop a thread i will let you know. with that said, don’t feel bad about taking a while to reply or if your reply length doesn’t match what i’ve given you. sometimes i write a lot of filler because my brain thinks it’s needed. it’s usually not, but you get it anyway.

7) starters

feel free to just randomly throw starters at me. or go through my open starter tag (ostart) and reply. it doesn’t matter if a starter is months old or already has replies, feel free to add, i can always make a new thread for tracking purposes (if you do that). if you do, i can’t always promise a quick reply, cos the muse might not always be there, but i will see it and i will love you and i will launch the muse at the earliest convenience.

GUIDELINES ( FOR MOBILE USERS )

» INTRODUCTIONS!

hi! my name is viking, and i’m the mess of a mun running this blog. i’m above age ( born in nov 1994, so i’m currently 24 as of writing this.) i go by whichever pronouns you wanna refer to me by, i don’t really mind either way. i have avpd as well as szpd, so i am probably more afraid of you than you are of me! anyways, let’s get into the rules! » THE MUSE

first things first, there’s a few things i want people to keep in mind before writing with jace. the first thing is; your muse is not going to know that he’s not fully human. unless we plot out and agree that your muse should know, please refrain from making vampire references to / about him. second thing is; he’s only half vampire (stating this only bc it seems like people easily forget that he’s also half-human.) third thing is, jace is currently going through abuse from his stepfather, so this blog will revolve around a lot of heavy topics (read more in the ‘triggers’ section.) fourth thing; jace is a hunter, and his stepfather has drilled into him to kill any and all supernatural creatures since he was 12. now, jace does have a moral compass deep down, but he’s not beyond killing supernatural creatures even if they’re innocent out of fear of what will happen to himself if he doesn’t, so unless you’re interested in that, and you’re playing a supernatural muse, you probably shouldn’t let jace know your muse is not human until he’s at least gotten to know them first.

» SMUT & ROMANCE-FREE.

i will not write romantic or sexual relationships. i don’t feel comfortable with it, and besides, jace is aroace, so there’s that. any other type of platonic relationships like friendships, familial, co-workers, etc, is all good though, as long as we plot it out first!

» SELECTIVITY / MUTUALS ONLY.

i am mutuals only, meaning i will only write with people who follow me that i also follow back. this isn’t anything personal, it’s just for my own comfort. aside from that,i’m honestly not very selective with who i’ll write with. as long as i feel like our writing will mesh, i’ll probably follow, regardless of your muse’s fandom, whether you’re a multimuse or an oc blog, or even if your muse has the same fc as mine.

» FORMATTING.

personally, i use icons ( 54x54 ) and <sup> text as a default, but i don’t really mind what kind of formatting you use, be it heavy formatting or no formatting at all. i’ll probably try to match your style to the best of my ability.

» ACTIVITY.

so, i’ve been rping for too long to stress myself out about getting replies out fast tbh. i’ll write whenever i have inspiration, and will reply to whichever drafts i feel like when i feel like. sometimes i might reply fast, sometimes it might take anywhere between a week to months. be patient, and you shall receive! you also never have to worry about replying fast to me. i’ve happily waited over a year for replies before, it’s really no stress.

» INTERACTIONS.

if i follow you, i want to write with you! that said, it’s probably unlikely i’m going to be the first one to instigate an interaction. not because i don’t want to, but because i struggle really bad with anxious avoidant personality disorder (you can read more about this here) which makes it really difficult for me to reach out, be it ooc or sending ic things. i’m trying to work on it, but as it is right now, i wouldn’t count on it. but if you’re reading this, i 100% encourage you to throw yourself or your muses @me! i post a lot of starter calls / meme calls / plotting calls etc, and have a tag in my navigation for both my calls and memes for this very reason!

i’m always open for making new verses, and while my verse page is kind of empty right now, never be afraid to ask if i have a verse for your muse’s fandom, because chances are i’ve just been too lazy to write it up on my verse page lol.

i hate doing this, because i didn’t mind before, but lately it’s happened so much that it’s becoming really discouraging. so, please don’t constantly reblog memes from me if you’re never going to send something in. i get that in character memes doesn’t always work / make sense to send from your muse(s) to mine, and i get that anxiety is a thing and all, but if possible, please reblog from the source (and don’t do it right after i’ve reblogged a meme?) because at this point, i feel like a meme source to a lot of my followers. that said though, if you don’t want to send in a meme, don’t. i’d rather you not send one than send it just because you feel like you have to and not because you want to.

» TRIGGERS.

there are some heavy triggers revolving physical and mental abuse on this blog, so if those are topics that trigger you, i recommend not following this blog because i will not downplay the abuse jace has gone through and is currently going through. other triggers include violence, murder, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, self-hatred, self-destructive behavior, alcohol use, just to mention a few. i don’t really have any triggers, so i might end up writing some triggering threads. if you need anything tagged that is not a big part of my muse’s character though, feel free to ask and i’ll probably try to tag it. i try to tag all visual things with tw: trigger, but i might forget.

I like to get healthy relationships with others and I know that not everyone I meet is gonna be a ray of sunshine, but this is something to keep in mind. Drama isn’t good for my health and it’s not good for anyone’s health. It’s something I don’t tolerate and it can spike up my anxiety very badly.

> That said: I don’t get involved into drama unless it’s something in the matter of my friends. I won’t get involved if I’m told not to get involved. If it doesn’t concern me and if the mun doesn’t want me to get involved, then I’ll respect their wishes. I will defend a friend though if necessary.

For example, Spid.er Man shouldn’t know about Bat.man’s secret or of what happened to his parents unless pre-established by the muns in question. I hope this explains it well enough.

> That said in regards to muses in general, mun doesn’t equal muse. I do not condone the terrible actions my muse can do, and the muse will not be glorified or romanticized for that manner. If there’s anything I’ve written that is uncomfortable to you, please don’t keep me in the dark and let me know.

> Personal blogs: I don’t mind your presence here. I don’t mind it at all. However: Please don’t reblog my threads or spam my likes. I don’t want roleplayers spamming my likes either. It’s not only a hassle, but it clogs up my activity and makes it hard to see any notifications for, well, anything really.

> Guilt-tripping? Is a severe no-no from me. I’ve been a victim of guilt-tripping, and I know people out there who are also victims of that. When the mood strikes. ♡ food or sleep: Actual good sleep, I’m always fucking tired. Food is fine, it tastes good, I like it. But eating is tedious, making food is hard i’m bad at cooking. And I have ADHD so it has to be simple or I lose all will and motivation and focus to actually make it half the time and most things require more energy or concentration even if it’s easy than I can handle at any given time at the moment. It’s also tedious. So for now I’d rather have sleep.

BASICS:

Name: Manon, but I’ve gone by the alias of Sae on the internet since I was about 12 or 13. It’s really stuck and caught on so much over the years that it’s as commonly used as Manon is, if not more (both online and offline). Age: 29. Pronouns: She/her. Sexuality: Hetero. Zodiac sign: Cancer. Taken or single: Single.

Four Things About This Blog:

1. Still unsure of how this worked exactly, but I’d decided to make a blog for Jace before I’d ever read (or seen) anything about him directly. A friend of mine had been in the fandom and I’d heard about him through her, enough that I’d peeked at a few basic bits on the wiki. And then one morning I woke up with this intense yet unexplainable urge to make him, this character that I knew next to nothing about. I read the first three books within a week and then I decided to launch him. I’ve never had a muse arise to the occasion quite in this manner, but then again, isn't this Jace we’re talking about? Nothing about him follows the status quo.

2. If I’d picked up the books without ever having heard anything about any character in specific prior to reading, I would’ve still likely found myself drawn to Jace’s character— but I would’ve made a blog for Valentine instead. They both appeal to me for different reasons, but ultimately, I’m very glad that I made Jace and I don’t regret not having made a blog for Valentine for a single instant.

3. I’m an exceedingly opinionated person with very set norms/values and they definitely make their appearance within my OOC posts, and they’re not always popular opinions ‘round these here Tumblr parts by any means. However, I don’t let them influence my perspective when it comes to writing for Jace (or any of my muses). Of course, I may recognize some or many aspects, but I make it an effort and personal challenge to look at everything from as many angles as I can as to obtain the widest picture of any character’s behavior or any situation.

4. Despite them not being in full view as they used to be, my tags have been described as being the ‘arteries’ of my blog(s) and I couldn't possibly agree more. If you don’t read them, you’re easily missing out on 80/90% of my meta’ing. My posts tend to have some coherency to them, some logic, but in my tags you find my incoherency and that’s my heart and my passion. That’s where I’m most alive.

Three Mun Facts:

1. I recognize that I’m incredibly headstrong and it’s both my gift and curse. While it’s gotten me in the occasional trouble because I realize that I’m being too stubborn a bit too late, there have been and are a lot of moments where I’ve used it to my advantage and I profit from it immensely in numerous ways. So while I could condemn it as a flaw, it very much hits the extremes on both ends of the spectrum.

2. I’ve got fire for a heart, I’m not scared of the dark; you’ve never seen it look so easy. Okay, so two days ago, I had a day of massive cleaning. This always goes hand in hand with music playing, I sing and dance (of which I can only successfully do the latter). Youtube went through related videos, it somehow got to One Direction. I used to unfairly hate them on principle because I heard them everywhere and everyone loved them; in the same light, Harry Styles was always the one I disliked the most because he was everyone’s favorite. Since that day, I’ve listened to their non-Zayn stuff a fair bit and it’s catchy, I guess I’m a very late fan. All good. Nobody can drag me doooowwwwn.

3. A lot of my thick skin stems from being able to properly put the right weight to people’s words. And I'm able to do that because I value’s people’s actions infinitely more than I do their words. It’s so very easy to say or type ‘yes’ or ‘no’, but if your actions don’t reflect your state of mind or your statements, then I lose respect. We’re all guilty of falling short of this every now and again, myself included; we’re all human after all, but once or twice doesn’t equal constantly.

EXPERIENCE:

How’d you start: Tumblr back in August of 2012 is when I started in the world of RP’ing. I made Tatia Petrova from TVD (I went by the url herbloodlacedtheirwine). I never really dabbled much into the world of writing before that, except little snippets in early high school as to practice and try to further my English. Platforms you’ve used: Tumblr. Best experience: While the TMI/TSC fandom definitely has its bad apples and I’ve been in fandoms where things were consistently calmer, I do find my best experience to have been here because of specific individuals I’ve met while here. However, my Tumblr experience has overall been really good since my Ezio blog. I had a field day writing him and people seemed to really appreciate my input on his character. Beyond that, his blog was also from which I released my themes and I’ll forever remember all the positive feedback I've gotten on them. Despite this site not easily showing it, there are a lot of people with a heart of gold out there. Worst experience: I’ve never exactly found myself in a really bad situation that I can refer to it as the ‘worst’, as I tend to nip things in the bud but I’m also someone who mentally catalogs things quickly, it’s how I deal with things. That and awarding stuff the weight it deserves and not a shred more— numerous things that I use to generally avoid things from getting very bad or affecting me more than I want them to.

MUSE PREFERENCES:

Original or canon: Canon every time. Favourite face: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jamie Campbell Bower, Toby Regbo. Least favorite face: Actors or actresses that play the main protagonists in usually a show, as they tend to become over-used FCs. Note: I have zero problem with these actresses or actors themselves, I just get tired of seeing everyone use them even outside of canon characters played by them. —To name a few examples in past and present: Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Emilia Clarke, Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood. Multi or single: Running a multi isn't something for me, but I don’t mind writing with them in whatsoever way. Kudos and respect to multi muse blogs for having the mind to be so organized, though. I couldn't do it.

WRITING PREFERENCES:

Plots or memes: Plots, although I enjoy responding to memes on Jace as crack and light type of threads so fit him quite well, they’re a nice change from the immense angst that can be done in threads. Best time to write: I used to think the night, but looking back at threads and timestamps; apparently some of my strongest writing was done in the afternoon or early evening. Problem is, I don’t always have time to write a lot during those times. An issue? Yes, yes it is. Do you like your muse(s): I rarely make new muses, when I do, there’s a reason. So yes. How long (months/years?): For my current blogs? Jace’s blog was created in November 2017. Francis was made... July 2017 and Ezio in May of 2016. I’ve made no other muses since Ezio and any before him have been permanently archived. Fluff, angst or smut: Angst/fluff, I’ve no interest in smut as it’s written on Tumblr.

❅ : Advice to non-role play blogs that want to get started?

i wrote advice literally years ago that i can’t be bothered to find now, so i guess now is as good a time as ever to re-write it.

i’ll put the first bullet above the cut b/c i feel like some stuff is important for everyone to know, and some stuff is just relevant to rp blogs.

brush up on the lingo! the tumblr rp community has developed a language of its own. you’ll learn a lot through context or just asking questions (and if you don’t know what something means, don’t be afraid to ask!). i honestly think this language divide is a reason some ppl have problems with personal blogs reblogging their posts. i’m not sure everyone outside the rpc realises what personal blogs are. here are a couple of important terms:- personal blog: a non-rp blog, it doesn’t matter if you use your blog for posts about your personal life or it’s a fandom blog for graphics, it’s still a personal blog by most ppl’s standards.- muse / mun: i tend to prefer the word “mod” / “writer” to “mun” excepting the munday pun, but mun just means the person who runs the blog. muse is the character (or characters) written on a blog.- mutuals / non-mutuals: if you follow someone and they follow you back, you’re mutuals with them. otherwise, you’re a non-mutual.- private / selective / semi-selective: people who are picky about who they rp with, whether that means mutuals only, or only muses from a certain rp. these terms can be somewhat flexible, i consider myself semi-selective b/c i will rp with non-mutuals, but will turn down rps if i’m overwhelmed with replies or feel we’re incompatible as rpers.- meme: a term used to describe prompts that can take many forms, from symbols like this meme to memes where you have to add some input of your own, like a “five times __’d” meme you’d have to add whatever word you like in the blank.- banter / para / multipara / novella: again, these terms can kinda vary person to person. banter is typically about 100 words, para can be anywhere from 100 words to maybe 200. multipara i put at about 300-400. novella is just… go wild. i’ve written 2000 word replies on occasion.- tw/cw: trigger warning and content warning. these are used by tumblr a lot in general, but given rp (for an adult game series like dragon age especially) will inevitably deal with triggering or sensitive topics, i think it’s important to define.these are just a few examples, and if you’re ever confused, please ask someone. it’s better than not and annoying someone by sending an ask for a meme listed mutuals only.

make sure you get a rules / about / verses page before you start. if you’re established in a community people may rp with you without one, but if you’re new it’s important to establish yourself. here are some things i think are important to have in particular. it’s a little dragon age-rp/bioware-rp specific, but this is a dragon age blog. other things that i didn’t mention b/c it wasn’t necessarily relevant to interacting: have a name/nickname, age, and pronouns on your rules AND your character’s about page. even if it’s just “18+” or “minor” if you’re not comfortable giving your exact age.some people will refuse to write with minors for their own comfort, and having this information will limit miscommunication and misgendering.

lots of people use icons, and they’re a lot of fun to use! but you also don’t have to use them. some people may not rp with you for it, but that’s their loss. i will say it’s becoming more accepted since when i first made solas. it wasn’t so much of a thing when i first started tumblr rp, then it became a thing, then it backed off again. i personally use them when i can b/c i find they add a little extra something, but don’t have icons for every verse.

make sure your page is legible. aesthetic is nice, but people here have vision problems and super tiny font or dark font on dark backgrounds can strain people’s eyes. remember rping is mostly about writing, so if you have a page that doesn’t show off your writing, you’re doing yourself a disservice!

i’d recommend making a separate blog rather than making a sideblog, or if you do make a sideblog, then having a hub blog/main rp blog you follow from. often i don’t look at personal blogs that follow me at all (i have a hard time keep track of new followers in general), so if ppl have a personal they follow from and an rp sideblog i may miss this entirely.

make sure you turn on your asks and anonymous questions if you’re comfortable with them. i forget this sometimes still lmao.

know that it’s ok to make mistakes! i’ve had ppl tell me they’d love to get into darp but don’t know dragon age lore all that well. there’s nothing wrong with that. i have learned so much about the lore since making solas, and there’s still stuff i don’t know! if you feel unsure still, i’d suggest figuring out what your character would/wouldn’t know about and familiarising yourself with that via the dragon age wiki for example if you’re making a dwarven oc (please, i need so many more in my life) who is from orzammar but is now a surface dwarf, i’d recommend reading the pages about orzammar and surface dwarves, and from there you can find related pages. your character will never know everything about the universe, so it’s ok if you don’t, either. i play one of the more knowledgeable characters in the series, and even he doesn’t know everything.

don’t godmod / metagame / forceship etc. this probably could’ve been up with the definitions, but i felt was important enough to warrant its own section.- godmodding is when you force the other writer’s character to do something. like, in a fight, you say one character kicked another character in the face. you’re not the one who decides that, they are, all you can say is your character tried to kick them in the fact. conversely, making your character dodge every move would also be a jerk move. i’d recommend fight scenes be discussed ooc tbh. mild godmodding is sometimes accepted. say our characters are drinking and yours hands mine a drink, most people will accept you writing that my character takes the drink. there would be a line, however. like if you then stated my character loves the drink and has never had anything like it, that’d be godmodding. mild godmodding often helps move threads along, though if you’re unsure about something, feel free to ask! most people will appreciate it.- metagaming is when your character has knowledge they couldn’t or shouldn’t. i have in my rules that you can’t know solas’s true identity w/o asking me first and establishing it ooc before you do so ic. in canon solas is careful with what he reveals about himself, and the only person who really suspects him for any length of time is vivienne.- forceshipping is when you force a relationship onto another character. typically this refers to romantic shipping, but i think it can apply to any relationship. for example, if an inquisitor lavellan were to call my solas “vhenan” it would be forceshipping, as i am singleship. but also, if someone were to project a friendly or even negative relationship onto my a character, it’s also a form of forceshipping imo. remember you can only control how your character feels about someone, and not the other way around. in your head blackwall may be the dad your character has never had, and your character can treat him so, but don’t expect a blackwall rper to fill that role if they don’t want to!

AU: Night Surgeon

( Modern Black Market AU )

Name: Zolf Jay Kimbley Birthdate: May 16th, 1984 Height: 5′11″ Weight: Approx. 160 lbs Race: Human Ethnicity: Half German, half Chinese Identity: Cis male (he/him pronouns) Orientation: Basically just attracted to other evil people? And also has a bunch of paraphilias? It’s uh. It’s complicated. Brief Bio:

(Note: Most of Kimbley’s modern AU story roughly coincides with his canon version, but with slight variances to fit into our universe.)

Born to a German father and Chinese mother who immigrated to the United States (Massachusetts, to be exact), Kimbley grew up a fairly quiet but intelligent child. His mother died when he was 5 years old, but his father raised him as best as he could with love and care.

However, it didn’t really matter; when he wasn’t cooped up in the house studying gory medical dictionaries, young Kimbley was spending a lot of his time engaging in not just delinquent behavior (small things like loitering or petty vandalism), but in borderline psychopathic pastimes including but not limited to torturing animals, arson, and conscienceless acts of violence.

At 13 he set fire to his residence, his father inside. Quick thinking managed to convince the first responders that the behavior leading up to the incident was unintentional. Nonetheless, he was given a sentence of five years for arson and reckless involuntary manslaughter.

After his sentence was complete, the life insurance policy that would have gone to Kimbley was revoked due to his conviction, and it was basically impossible for him to hold down a job or pursue higher education due to his record. So instead of seeking an “honest” living, he turned to the underground, using the street-savvy skills he had learned in the juvenile detention to work as a pimp and drug dealer.

He became particularly attracted to the black market business, however, and for a while merely delivered the goods (mostly kidneys, hearts, livers, and lungs). But he eventually grew interested in actually procuring said goods, and through recollection of his reading and work with animals during his youth and hard study, managed to claim a surgeon-like skill when it came to handling a scalpel.

And after a delivery job to a high class club called the Devil’s Nest at the behest of the employer named “Greed,” he offered Kimbley a side job at his establishment---if he would be willing to share a bit of that black market cash with the club. Until that time Kimbley had been living place to place, but now claimed a base of operations, and offering just a bit of scratch was no skin off his nose. Really, the black market work itself was the true reward.

Bonus Facts:

Knows English, German, and ASL, as well as a bit of spoken Mandarin Chinese, which he is still working on learning in his spare time (note: mun only knows English but just pretend that Kimbley is smarter than me okay)

When he isn’t engaging in his devious black market work, he’s usually bartending at the Nest for a little extra cash

Goes by his last name instead of his first because during his time in juvie both the detainees and officers mostly referred to one another by their last names, and it remained a habit of his. In addition, going by “Zolf” reminds him too much of the endearing way his father would speak to him
