I like playing with 4 midfielders, but trying it for the first time this season at a final against Real Madrid was stilupid tbh. We should’ve just went with what the players were used to at least. I also want to see the 4 midfielders with Fermin not Roberto.

We first tried the 4 man midfield against RM at the supercup final last year so Xavi probably thought they'd play the same except he didn't have a Gavi on the pitch today. Sergi Roberto isn't Gavi and we don't have a single player with his profile not even Fermín. People look at fermin's passion and think he's similar to Gavi but they're two very different profiles. Fermín doesn't have Gavi's off the ball movement which is what really made the 4 men midfield click.

this is so late omg but i think what you're saying still stands tbh. people are getting hopeful again bc players like ter stegan and araujo and now sergi have started talking so openly about wanting messi back but there's this niggling feeling in the back of my mind that says i've seen this film before. that we'll find out much later that, actually, there hasn't been any talks at all, and eventually laporta and co will make it look like they tried but messi refused to meet them halfway and he'll get thrown under the bus again

Some thoughts on His Dark Materials 3.05 and 3.06 - No Way Out and The Abyss! Spoilers for the rest of the series below.

I absolutely goddamn adore how they did everything with the Mulefa. Mary’s development from “...I’m following a talking elephant” to “these talking elephants are my besties, actually”, to how they handled the wheelpods, to the babies - but my absolute favourite thing was how they did the subtitles! Things like the Mulefa speech melting into English, but into a much more limited English to show Mary’s grasp on it, to how it just becomes more and more fluent, until she and Atal are just... chatting. Talking. It was so cool.

Completely understand why they redesigned them, too. The diamond-shaped thing would have been, hm, complicated, and this way they felt much more real. And the wheelpods really did look fun. Like rollerblading!

Land of the Dead was proper eerie. Really glad they kept in Will’s reaction to being separated from his daemon, because like. They have to build up Kirjava somehow, even if he didn’t feel it immediately like Lyra and Pan did. The set felt deeply claustrophobic (even if it did vaguely remind me of a Doctor Who stage set) and oppressive, and seeing poor li’l Roger so... lifeless was genuinely upsetting. Got a bit emotional at them talking about their adventures, Roger remembering more and more, seeing the flashbacks of them as little bitty kids (I guess they filmed those when they were doing season one?), and him just... coming back to life. Storytelling as identity!

I don’t know. “Tell them stories” is one of my favourite fictional aesops.

Adored the reunion with Lee. Look I know Lin Manuel-Miranda has been a... controversial choice, but I think he’s fantastic, and I’m so glad Lyra got to see one of her two dads again (the other is Iorek, obviously. Asriel whomst? He’s lost parental rights forever tyvm). And Will’s reunion with John just felt... so much more loaded. Like Lyra seeing Lee again just felt warm and cozy like a hug, but there was so much weight between Will and John, many more things to say. Apparently it was filmed months after principle filming due to John’s actor’s availability, which was why it felt much more self-contained, but honestly I feel it was pretty important for them to have that time. Also built up the concept that you can’t stay in a world that’s not your own for too long, which gives the viewer the thought, “Oh, okay, so Lyra and Will will have to visit each other via windows, they can’t actually stay together.” When the reveal about closing all but one window comes, it’s gonna hit like a truck.

The Abyss was horrifying. Metaphysical l’appel du vide and all. They played up how it’ll be a major part later on well, I think. Seeing Sergi being pulled in, Ruta’s complete helplessness... yikes, genuinely unsettling. I do like that Serafina explained exactly what was going to happen to Ruta, her soul falling forever. Keep that in mind, viewers! It’ll be important later!

Loved Gracious Wings’ rescue, too - I’m not even sure she knew why she did it. The whole thing plays on this big... trusting your intuition to do the right thing, even if you don’t know why you did. Which works very well with Lyra and the prophecy, actually.

Harpy-related note - it did disappoint me that they cut the Lyra/liar part, especially since it felt foreshadowed with the bureaucrat in the holding area. I just wanted to see Lyra come to that realisation that they wanted the truth. Ah well.

Going through the door... emotions. Bye, Roger ;_; Bye, Lee ;_; (I know he originally joined the fight, but I’m guessing they just wanted to streamline the story?)

My desire to slap Asriel continues to grow. Holy shit, dude. His war is going ‘successfully’ but he’s also kinda. Breaking a hell of a lot of eggs to make that particular omelette. Lowkey wish Mrs Coulter had punched him tbh.

On that note, her character has taken such a fascinating turn! Genuinely much more sympathetic - trying to talk for her life in the chamber, her terror and determination trying to stop the bomb (and her success! She pulled out the targeting mechanism so it could only use Lyra’s last known location, and Lyra kept moving, so it missed!), her despair when she believes Lyra is dead... standout scenes, I think, are after she returns to the camp. There’s the wonderful talk with Serafina, where Serafina talks about how Lyra being Eve is a good thing, a transformative thing, because look at how much she’s transformed, and that beautiful scene talking to her daemon. She’s making peace with her own soul again!

Anyway, Mrs Coulter/Serafina.

The contrast between her and Asriel is really interesting. They start out with like, Asriel is the cool uncle/dad who’s doing cool things, and Mrs Coulter is Evil Incarnate, and they’re both... just changing to be significantly more morally grey (or, well, outright terrible). Mrs Coulter is realising she does care about something/someone, she has a daughter she’s realising she actually does love, someone else to care for other than herself. She’s reconnecting with her soul. Asriel, on the other hand, is going into a downward spiral, becoming obsessive and callous, and any love he actually did have for Lyra is just... not a priority any more. Even Stelmaria is more absent. I really wanted to see her reaction to learning that Lyra was dead :-\

yeah, i think it’s pretty obvious they can’t play full 90s for the first team, let alone away at a tough stadium like osasuna. i don’t wanna talk bad about youngsters, but i think going back to the b team will better suit their level. squad is crucial and i cannot wait for ronald and christensen to come back asap.

also, makes the likes of lamine, cuba, gavi etc even more special because it goes to show how incredibly hard this level is and how talented they truly are.

Thoughts on El Soso

El Clasico but you wonder why you didn't vacuum clean instead of whatever that was. This is just the opinion of a football fan. Not facts. I’m proud to be an analytical person due to having been a sporter (and a trainer) too, but I can be wrong from time to time. I’ve been wrong before. You can disagree with me if you like, I’d like to see other’s POV from this match as well.

Not one adressing of the Catalan protestations. Dissapointing we didn't say anything. The Catalan in me is very annoyed at it.

The midfield was atrocious. The defense was good. The offense was alright.

Aleñá should've played in Sergi's place. Rakitic should've been subbed off, he was horrendous. De Jong was the only midfielder on actually doing everything. This guy is gonna get overexhausted someday I'm afraid. If he wasn't a starter, he was subbed in to play for 30 minutes. If subbed off, he still played 70 minutes. If not that, he played every game to completion. Piqué and Lenglet never passed to any midfielder except Frenkie. They played very good, their defending was very nice to look at. You could see though they only depended on passing to Semedo, Ter Stegen and De Jong.

Alba’s chance was perhaps the biggest chance. Have to say he has come back fairly strong after his injury. Alba just knows when to fall back or go full in attack. I forgot about him a bit but yeah he was perhaps the 3rd best after Mats and Geri and Clement (who share 2nd imo).

Ter Stegen proves once again he's very good. I didn't really say it but he was the weakest against Sociedad, today it was the polar opposite. He's undisputed MOTM. No one else. That save with the tip of his foot/toe was my favourite.

Griezmann and Suarez suffered a lot of ball losses. Though they did get fouled a lot, Suarez more. But when Griezmann had the chance to do something, he blew it.

Semedo, Messi the subbed in Fati and Vidal were pretty good. You could for sure see the shift in better midfielding and more attacking but it still fell short. We have to say it again: you can surround Messi with 5 people and he’ll still find a way to nutmeg or dribble past everyone.

The main problem was not sitting on Real's tail and waiting for an error. You cannot and should not take that chance with the co-leader in the League.

Real was better than last year but tbh they weren't great either. They fouled a lot but tbh it wasn't that bad. However Isco should've gotten yellow sooner. Ramos broke his record of being one of the last to get a yellow and lasted a whole 80 minutes without receiving one and also didn't get red.

Tamest, lamest and time-wastest Clasico I've seen. Which should be surprising surrounding the tensions in Spain and Catalunya. Doing dishes is more exciting.

Something needs to change. It’s the mentality of the players. Every time we have a big lead in the first leg the players seem to ease up and tho they say they’ll play like it’s 0-0, actions speak louder than words. Idk if it’s bc we’re overly confident or we subconsciously underestimate the opponent?? i hate HOW we lost more than the fact that we lost tbh. humiliating

I don’t think it’s overconfidence or underestimating the opponent bc it’s not what it looked like today. It’s more like, as another anon said, there was no sense of urgency. And I do think this is hugely related to the Messi-dependence; there is no sense of urgency bc they always hope he is going to save them, but he can’t keep carrying this whole team to a treble.

And also, something weird considering it’s a big club is that none of the players stepped up, and even worse, some even stepped down. Like Jordi Alba has been nothing but perfect this season and yet two of the goals came from direct mistakes he made and he was also not good overall. Pique has been having an amazing season and yet, he wasn’t at his best today. Messi’s last 20 minutes weren’t the best. Sergi struggled with defense, like he usually does. Rakitic and Busi did what they could but there was a point after the second or third goal that Barça lost all of the control, every pass ended up at a Liverpool player’s feet.... and the changes were a little bit too late.

And also, Barça definitely has a problem playing away at UCL matches (the pág match? Away. Roma? Away. Today? Away) and it’s something that needs to be fixed immediately. I don’t know what’s causing the problem but we cannot go out like this again.

And as you said, I would have been sad if we had gone out anyway, but what makes me devastated is how much hope I had and they way we went out. We can’t afford to do something like this. The fourth goal?? Embarrassing. The way we played wasn’t always awful but it wasn’t good either. And I could have understood if we went out fighting, but you can barely call what happened today fighting...

Wedding Dress  - my opinion

A wedding dress is very special for every bride. That’s only my opinion and I don’t want to criticise their choices :) it means a lot to every wag and woman. Please don’t be mad with my opinion (it doesn’t mean I like them or do not like them as a person!!!)

Nina: I love her dress. It’s very smart with some sweet details but not too much. It matches perfect with her blonde hair, make-up and her skin. She looked amazing. One of the most beautiful brides I have seen.

Anna: As you all know I adore Annas style a lot. For me she is the best dressed WaG (of all). But her wedding dress is not my taste. It’s too much ruffle. It might be better with a skirt like Ninas and only these ruffle details on her neckline. Also her make-up is too much and doesn’t looks like her.

She designed it by herself. I like her the flowers on her corsage.

I’m not sure I’m the right person to ask this to, since I’ve only been a fan since 2016, but I’ll try my best :) (these are in a really random order because I’m adding them as I think of them)

First of all, the 0-4 classico! It was the first clasico I’ve ever watched and I was so scared because I didn’t know what to expect and all, but then we did THAT

One of my personal favorites: in 2016 we were first in the table by a big gap, but there was a small period where we were losing/tying a few games and the gap between us and real and atleti was like really small. But then when we really couldn’t lose another game because we wouldn’t be on top anymore, we annihilated deportivo with 0-8. It’s still one of my favorite games tbh (also because marc scored ❤️). We then won every game without conceding a single goal and won the double

When Messi dyed his hair blondeeee and everyone was shook and thought he was heaving some sort of midlife crisis

There’s sooo many great videos of the players messing around with each other in the lockerroom. There’s this running gag where players hit each other with their phones while filming it it’s so weird and I love it (this made me realize I need a lockerroom tag)

Pique has done so many iconic things that I can’t remember right now tbh but it’s great he is iconic

The 6-1 against PSG. I remember that my stream was behind a bit, and I turned on the notifications on this app I use that gives updates of football matches. And I saw the 4-1 and the 5-1 and then the app gave another notification. And I was terrified that it was a ‘full time’ notification, but it was another goal and I was shooook as fuck. And I was already getting messages from friends (who never watch football and hate it but were watching this match) and then I saw the goal on my stream and I was legit crying. That was such a great night omg. I couldn’t sleep at all.

Also the weeks leading up to the 6-1. Neymar with this ‘when there’s 1% change, 99% faith’, everyone saying there’s still a chance. Idk the hype was really great and we were all in it together even though I think no one of us actually thought we’d do it.

Messi’s 500th goal for barça against real in the 2-3???? CHILLS. I was watching at my parents’ and I was saying stuff about how amazing it would be if he scored his 500th during the game and my dad all condescending jlkhjhfjhfvk and then he did it

In general just the tumblr fandom live blogging during matches is amazing. Everybody screaming about this. Making jokes about this mess of a team and celebrating together.

The 0-3 from last season. The pre season was so bad when real defeated us in the spanish super cup and I don’t think any of us expected anything from this match, but then we did that at the bernabeu

I also love the preseason tours and the gamper trophy game at the beginning of the season with the player presentation (not so much to watch back but to watch live I love it)

THE VICTORY PARADES (15/16, 17/18) are the best thing ever. The players (especially geri) being drunk and messing around is the best thing ever.

Also one of the happiest moments for me (and which is probably not significant for most people) is when Jasper Cillessen transferred to Barça because he’s literally the reason that I started watching football, and now he is at my club?? I’m still so happy about this, even though he doesn’t play much :/

The barça emoji videos were brilliant. Some players were so awkward (jasper for example, bless his soul) and then there were players like neymar and rafinha just messing around for the full video

The fifa tournaments they used to do were also really funny, some of they were really competative hbkjlhb (I’m sad pes doesn’t do something like this)

These were the ones I could come up with at the moment (most of these are probably no surprise). I’d probably ask some other people if I were you (@4fabregastasticxavi6​ for example) for memories because she’s been a fan for way longer than me and she probably has more/better moments (especially from the trebles and stuff)

he’s really methodical when it comes to intimacy of any kind, he believes there’s a time and place for all things. physical intimacy is the one that comes to him the easiest: there doesn’t need to be any sort of deeper connection and, when you do, it just makes it easier. he’ll be touching if he thinks the moment asks for it or it will enhance his point whatever it is, even if it rarely ever happens. sexual intimacy isn’t so different: feelings don’t always have to be involved and when they are it makes it better, easier, more enjoyable. he also loves to keep boundaries clear: if you’re nothing but a fuck, he’ll make it clear you’ll never be anything but a fuck. if he’s interested in more, you’ll know from day one you’re not just a fuck. emotional intimacy, on the other hand, is very hard for sergi. you need to be one of the people he trusts the most for him to actually speak of his emotions with you and, even then, he might not. he just didn’t grow up like that. they rarely ever spoke of feelings in his house, more so goals and ways to achieve them.

not exactly but close enough is sergi has lots of toys waiting for whenever simó or andrés’ kids come and visit. is it because he wants them to be occupied so he doesn’t have to do all the entertaining ? maybe. or maybe it’s just because he likes having them around even if he’ll complain all during and after and say how dealing with his friends’ kids are making him grow older faster.
