Thank you @toribookworm22 for the tag. I've been waiting for the right time to answer. So, let's go!

1. Are you named after anyone?

I am, actually. My parents named me in honor of my late brother. With the mix of my mother's name and his, my name was born.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Ohh. Tough question. Actually it was this week. With so much going on, last week proved to be quite overwhelming; it eventually caught up to me about three days ago.

3. Do you have kids?

Nope lol

4. Do you use sarcasm?

Is it even possible not to?

5. What's the first thing you notice about people?

The way the speak, I think. Especially if I'm meeting them for the first time. If it's someone I know, then there's that and their clothing.

6. What's your eye color?

Dark brown

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Surprisingly, a mix of both. I do enjoy happy endings more though. I've been a lot more open to thrillers lately, however. Depends of my mood lol

8. Any special talents?

I guess being able to see figures from random spots and smudges. It's fun and very useful to create ideas. I am also very good when it comes to psychologically analyzing people. Doesn't always work lol but yep.

9. Where were you born?

I was born by Yucatan, Mexico 🇲🇽

10. What are your hobbies?

I enjoy writing ofc, drawing and doodling too. I also enjoy singing, albeit not the best voice, but music is just...well music. For some time I was into design too. Both graphic and interior design.

11. Have you any pets?

I do. A small 2-year-old pup named Lucky. Love the energetic fuzzball.

12. What sports do you play/have played?

I used to do both swimming and TKD. Still kind of practice the latter every now and then.

13. How tall are you?

LOL I'm about 1.5 m, which is the equivalent to 4'9" approx. I know, I know, I'm a short lad.

14. Favorite subject in school?

Biology always won for me, as did Language Arts and Literature. Then I loved the workshops (basically art class) even more. Civics was also awesome too (debates turned out to be really cool). Currently and so far, I've been able to enjoy Phylosophy.

15. Dream job?

I'd love to be able to get into acting though; not precisely big time TV acting lol, but rather theater would be really awesome. Aside from art, education or psychology really call out to me as well.

Kaos: Well, not including warrior cats and fantrolls i made when i was like 10, he's my first ever proper oc! he's gone through SO many changes over the years but he's where literally every other TES character came from, so i love my boy for that <3

Anaëlle: I adore this girl because she's so strong willed!! irl im very very nonconfrontational and tend to just nod and agree, but she would absolutely slap a bitch no questions asked. this goes for her and Kaos too but theyre super protective of their friends and i love them for that

Pup: Pup! my boy! he's like. such a minor character, when i *eventually* get round to writing their fics he's probably only gonna be mentioned in Ime's a few times but he's just so funny? he's very similar to kaos in that responsibility comes knocking on his door and his first reaction is Nope. man just fucks off and leaves to live in the mountains with like 20 dogs and i think thats very cool of him

Kaos:

Likes: oooo interesting okay. he likes how resourceful he is; throw him in an unfamilar forest and he will 9 times out of 10 come out unscathed. he's very good at crafting and hunting and he probably deems those his highest qualities.

Dislikes: He doesn't like his vulnerability. heavy armor is way too clunky so he always feels exposed in just light armor, he can't travel by day or on roads because of his anxiety, which makes Lucien minorly annoyed and he hates that, and he hates the fact that he turns into a scared little child whenever he's in a settlement bigger than Shor's Stone. He sees himself as the big brother and that he needs to protect everyone and blames himself whenever he cant.

Anaëlle:

Likes: She's proud of her personality as a whole! She's very emotionally strong, stubborn, and would burn down the Imperial City itself to keep her people safe, but she's also incredibly gentle and generous, especially to children. She's proud of the fact that she's able to be a strong leader and a gentle friend when the need arises.

Dislikes: Her mother Donella always warned her that her impulsiveness would get her killed, so as much as she relies on it, she does dislike that part of herself. It's what's kept her alive so long, and it might be the death of her, and she's got no way of knowing until the wrong situation pops up. she doesn't like the uncertainty.

Pup:

Likes: Pup is very happy with the fact that he feels no need to chase adventure or be in the storybooks. They love their cousin Anaëlle to bits, but he does sometimes feel she's chasing an outcome that will never be. He's quite content with a life of solitude, training the clan's mountain dogs to be rescue dogs, and just wandering.

Dislikes: He's constantly worried he's pushing people away. He loves his family and his clan, but he just prefers being alone. He's always worried that they assume he's abandoned them, or that he doesn't care for any of them

*cracks knuckles* This answer is Long As Hell 😌 I chose select scenes from my favorite chapters.

I also elaborate on other details in the author's notes section of each chapter on AO3, so I only included comments I haven't already gushed about below

Chapter 1

An unexpected spurt of blood hitting his face makes Charlie flinch. As he wipes his cheek, he sees a bullet leeching its way out of the woman’s chest. The bullet clatters to the ground, and a trickle of blood leaks from the hole left behind. Seconds later, her chest stutters with a weak gasp.

“Uh, she ain’t dead,” Charlie announces.

I'd say 80% of the dialogue is lifted directly from the movie or script. Whenever I write, I have the movie playing in the background for visual/story reference. I rewind and rewatch 100s of times.

Aside from that, I really loved writing this bit. Hillbilly cop Charlie and his sidekick Buttcrack Santa are my favorite humans. One thing I had a hard time with was describing the bullet leaving Leah's body; it took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to rework that scene. Translating movie action to words is hard. Some things just work better visually. But I think it turned out alright

Chapter 2

I LOVED this entire chapter. There's so many fun scenes. I wrote it in one sitting. I have so many comments about it

There was something about his perfect smile and his Southern charm that drew Leah in. His pretty brown eyes with gold flecks in them were like molasses, full of sweetness and affection just for her. And his hands, large and strong, played with Seth during the day and held Leah tenderly at night.

THE BLACK GUY ALWAYS DIES FIRST!!! I agonized over this a lot because it's my pet peeve in movies. So I just decided to make myself feel worse by describing Laurent as the hottest, most incredible lover ever. SIGH. I entertained the idea of having him reappear at the end of the fic as a vampire, but I ended up scrapping that idea. The logistics of that would've been too annoying

The charcoal wolf charged at them, wasting no time raking its claws across Leah’s face. She screamed in horror and agony, clutching at her face as it gushed torrents of blood and burned like fire.

I thought it would be ironic to have Emily be the one to scratch Leah in the face, since Emily was originally the one who got scarred in Twilight.

Long, pale white fingers grasped the edge of the boat, and a pair of red eyes broke the surface of the murky water with a laser focus on Leah. Long brown hair, turned teak from the water, floated along the surface in loose tendrils.

VAMPIRE BELLA! EVIL BELLA SUPREMACY! CRYPTID(ish) BELLA!

Remember when Victoria was watching Bella from the water in New Moon after Jacpb fished her out of the ocean? Yeaaaaah that's this

Chapter 3

“Your eyes haven’t cooled yet,” she realizes. “You’re a pup still.”

Leah nods sullenly. “A late bloom,” she confirms.

This is a reference to something that I can't remember lmao

Embry scowls. “Why do I always have to get the drinks?” he demands. He grabs Leah’s stool, scurrying to her left side and pointing angrily at ‘Kim’ as he leans his head over Leah’s shoulder like her body is a shield. “Why can’t you get it for once?!”

“Because I’m the boss,” ‘Kim’ hisses, raising the cleaver threateningly. Embry backs away with a yelp. “Now shut up and get this woman her drink!”

I was cackling as I wrote this interaction. This scene was SO funny in the movie so I tried to do it justice with my remix.

Her second and final weapon is a katana, and it sings from within the wooden scabbard. Embry holds the bottom end of the scabbard and thrusts the katana into the flames. The scabbard remains unscathed and the symbols carved into it glow a bright red.

I really couldn't tell you how Embry made this sword or what kind of magical process goes into it. I don't know why the blade glows in the fire or what it says on the sword either. It just sounded cool. I was literally making things up on the fly

I also couldn't think of a better alternative weapon to give Leah. In the movie, Beatrix gets a sword because she's in Japan and trained in martial arts. Is Leah trained in the art of swordsmanship, or is she just winging it? Beats me lol

Chapter 7

I just want to give a quick shout out to evil Emily and sleazy Paul. They were my favorite horndogs, RIP to the real ones

Writing their death scenes was fun but also challenging. I'm literally running out of creative ways for Leah to get through her kill list without being repetitive. But the show must go on 🥴

Emily drains the rest of her whiskey and runs a hand across her mouth. “They have two kinds of venom. One turns humans, and one just causes paralysis.”

She tosses the empty jar over her shoulder, excitement making her eyes wide as she counts off her fingers. “The paralytic is harmless to us. It’s like a temporary sedative to the nervous system. But the other kind? Well that’s the most effective poison for our kind– it breaks down tissue faster than we can regenerate it. It can even cause hallucinations.” 

Emily's monologue while Paul was dying from the poison was a fun scene to rework from the movie. I watched the movie's scene between Elle, the black mamba, and Budd too many times to count. Somewhere in Twilight it's mentioned that the science behind vampire venom is that it paralyzes their prey with pain so they won't escape while feeding. I thought it would be cool if they had different venoms that served different needs, hence the paralytic and the turn-you-into-vampire juice.

Leah’s lips are right next to her ear as she whispers, “Where’s Sam?”

“You-”

A stab to her stomach makes Emily shout and double over. It’s quick, nothing more than a sharp flash and it’s over, but the lingering sting knocks the breath out of her. The oozing wound does not close.

“Where’s Sam?” Leah repeats, her voice rising.

When Leah dipped from the hospital in chapter 2, I couldn't think of how to include the scene from the movie when Beatrix is bashing the nurses' head in with the door and screaming "Where's Bill?". I thought it would with better in this scene. I was also coming up empty on how to pull this fight scene together so that addition saved my ass

Chapter 8

Curious, Bella turns on her heel and lifts her gaze. The sight leaves her bewildered.

This is wrong. All wrong.

There are two blue moons in the sky. 

She squints, leaning closer, and then she feels it: A huff of air that blows her locks away from her face. A vibration throughout her body from a growl so loud the ground shakes with it. A heart that has long since stopped beating in her chest drops into the pit of her stomach.

Nothing is going the way she remembers.

The shroud of darkness before her parts like a curtain, unveiling a large white muzzle. Trembling lips peel back to show off rows of sharp and gleaming canine teeth. Its jaw opens wide, unnaturally so, and the base of its throat glows with the light of hellfire.

Bella had a handful of prophetic dreams in Twilight and that storyline went nowhere. Her dreams are literally messages from the deep, and when she got turned into a vampire all of that just got dropped...? So I incorporated that back into this fic.

I also just really liked how I described her dream sequence in this chapter. Shout out to me lmfao. I'll never achieve this greatness again.

“Dreams again, love?” Edward asks quietly.

Fall Out Boy reference. IYKYK

“‘O, swear not by the moon, th’ inconstant moon, that monthly changes in her circle orb, lest that thy love prove likewise variable.’” Jacob scrunched his face into a grimace. “How do you read this stuff? What does that even mean?”

“Juliet doesn’t want Romeo to swear his love by the moon because it’s always changing, and she wants his love to be constant.”

Foreshadowing 👀 Also the sun and moon trope for Bella x Jacob is absolutely perfect. They are literally the definition of that trope. I love them. I'm obsessed with them. Okay? Okay.

Shout out to that teacher in New Moon (?) that made Edward recite lines from Romeo and Juliet. I imagine if Jacob were in that clas with them, he would hate everything about the play and scoff at Edward's memorization of it

A weaker version of that sunny smile of his bloomed on his face as he murmured, “It’s okay, honey. It’s okay.”

He was always trying his best to make sure Bella felt nothing but love and comfort in his presence. Even so close to death, he was still trying.

“I love you, Jacob,” she choked out.

Jacob’s bloodshot eyes softened, and a trickle of blood dribbled from his nose.

“Love you more,” were his last words to her. 

Yeah so I hurt my own feelings writing this. I also heavily referenced the scene in Eclipse when Bella says goodbye to Jacob after the newborn fight.

Also remember that time when Jacob just suddenly called Bella 'honey' and it wasn't a big deal???? Well, it IS to ME.

Hulu New Releases: November 2020

All streaming services go through a down period after the excitement of Spooky Season, it’s only natural. Thankfully with its list of new releases for November 2020, Hulu is making the best out of a barren pop culture landscape.

For starters, Hulu is premiering one of its major 2020 reboots this month as Animaniacs arrives on Nov. 20. Yakko, Wakko, Dot, and the rest of the Warner gang are set to return for this long-awaited revival of the animated classic. That’s about it as far as original series go but Hulu is also premiering original movies Greta, about climate activist Greta Thunberg on Nov. 13; and Run, a horror film starring Sarah Paulson, on Nov. 20.

Still, despite all the Animaniacs, Gretas, and Sarah Paulsons, the biggest hits this month might just be on the library content side of things. November 1 sees the arrival of some major TV properties. For starters, racy British teen show Skins will be made available in its entirety on the first of the month. So too will Rick and Morty season 4 arrive on that date. And those hits will be followed by Killing Eve season 3 on Nov. 6.

If there ever were a time to do some serious streaming, it’s November 2020 on Hulu.

My Pet Is actually Shivering and trembling! Assist!

1. Beyonce - Lemonade.

This album was cathartic when it was released at the beginning of the year, but now that we’re at the end we probably need it even more.

Whether a cheating lover, an orange race-baiting huckster masquerading as politician (and ascending to the highest office in the land), the goddamn fucking forces of white supremacy/the patriarchy/global capitalism or our own private struggles with self-doubts and mental illness, this album had something to offer, if nothing else than a reminder to hold our heads up and say “fuck ya’ll.”

I didn’t like every song on this album but look: When I saw a room full of women, middle fingers raised, jamming out to “I’m Not Sorry” like a giant “fuck you” to whatever it was that was fucking their day up, telling them they weren’t valuable or whatever, I realized that it didn’t necessarily need to be for me.

Rubbery dancehall, Nahleans jazz,  futuristic (though I guess present now) R+B, diva voice: Beyonce does that thing where she overdubs like 20 different vocal tracks over one another, but her voice is already so powerful it sounds like a chorus of Amazonians or gods. And of course there’s the image of Beyonce walking around smashing car windows with a baseball bat in the “Hold Up” video, which now seems to be remarkably prescient.

The biggest pop star in the world right now has our back. We could do worse.

2. Anderson .Paak - Malibu

Deceptively breezy soul and funk that inherently understands the political power of a block party. 7. Jeff Rosenstock - Worry

Massive sing alongs, noisy genre hopping (or combining), and huge power-pop hooks that always seem to be just on the verge of descending into chaos. Jeff Rosenstock has often managed to make whatever he’s going through personally seem to speak to larger scale generational woes (I’m pretty sure there were at least two albums about not wanting to get a job, which came out at the same time that I and most of the people I know also didn’t want to get jobs). A reoccurring theme here seems to be the gentrification of places that you love, which is connected to the experience of getting older and feeling like you’re missing out. Jeff has definitely crafted his own “sound” at this point, so when he switches styles to the straight genre homage in the three-song punch of “Bang On the Door,” “Rainbow” and “Planet Luxury” (garage punk, third-wave ska and hardcore) in 3 blistering minutes, it’s a perfect reminder of all the music we (well, me) grew up loving.

Remember when people used to call beats “slappers?” Probably only if you were into Bay Area hip-hop circa 2007. Anyway, this shit slaps.

9. YG - Still Brazy

Similar to how A Good Night in The Ghetto feels like an amalgamation of several decades of Bay Area hip hop, this is puuuuuure fucking LA fat bass, eerie keyboard sampling G-funk. Gangsta rap has always been political. Have I written that before? It’s worth saying more than once. Those last three songs though. FDT will obviously have a lot of shelf life, but “Blacks and Browns” and “Police Get Away Wit Murder” are sharp contributions to the tradition of “fuck this shit” also.

Still, with a band that clearly flirts with a Red State target audience, at least sonically, and judging from the youtube comments on some of their videos, hanging their hat so clearly on the “blue side” is a risky move and one that should be commended. Here we get stories about the founder of the NRA murdering a Mexican teenager in the 20s, the shooting at Umpqua community college, hypocritical religious folks, and Black Lives fucking Mattering.

16. David Bowie - Blackstar

To be honest, I thought this sounded a little bit too much like Pink Floyd the first time I heard it (plus a sax player) but the sultriness of cuts like “Lazerus,” the keyboard line in “’Tis a Pity She Was a Whore” that sounds like it came out of an 80s fantasy movie, and the weird vocal flourishes and marching rhythm of “Girl Loves Me” won me over. Bowie has left this mortal coil, and either ascended to a tinsel covered 70s movie set or an 80s computer game about going to the moon, but it’s definitely some kind of heaven.

17. Death Grips - Bottomless Pit
