You Make My Daisy (Branjie) - Mac
AN: All my love to Writworm and grapefruit for beta-ing and being amazing people as usual. Iâm really happy with how this turned out, and I may make a few more partsâŚwe shall see.
Summary: Vanessa works at a bakery; Brooke works at a flower shop. Over time, they meet and talk over their shared lunch break. Their friendship only grows stronger. Vanessa goes on dates all the time, and always buys flowers from Brooke for her partner. They talk about her dates in detail, and Brooke suggests flowers that fit with that personâs personality. One day Vanessa comes in describing her date (who sounds an awful lot like Brooke-can you see where this is going?)
The bakery across the streetâwell not really street, more like sidewalk, really more like a small road with cobblestone that people decided to drive down every once and awhile. The bakery had opened up a few months after Brooke took over the shop. It hadnât been in the best of circumstances, her godfather passing away and all, but it had been her dream, so it was a sort of a happy-sad.
Brooke had always loved visiting her godfather at his work because he would take her around to all the flowers, teaching her something new and exciting, well, exciting for a four-year-old child with no friends and a houseplant named Steve. He told her intricate, and most likely fabricated stories of how the gods created each flower in its own unique way. For each unique person. Her mother would scoff in the background and mumble under her breath that there was âonly one God.â Brooke would pay her mother no mind, as she ran around the small shop with a watering can as big as her head, and not a care in the world.
The bakery owner was new, but the building sure wasnât. The pastel colors clashing with the classic cobblestone street/sidewalk/road gave it a gaudy, yet somehow modern feel as well. It wasnât Brookeâs personal style, but she supposed it works for some people. The flower shop retained the same rustic and homey feeling that her godfather had left it with. The stained wood and small, but purposeful windows that lined the front of the shop allowed enough natural light in to illuminate the hardwood floors, that had definitely seen better days. It wasnât perfect, but it worked, and it was home.
Vanessa started working at the bakery a few months after Brooke first opened her doors. The only reason she knew that the girlâs name was Vanessa was because she could hear the owners yell it from across the road/street/sidewalk every day when the girl would inevitably fuck something up.
Brooke didnât get to hear Vanessaâs name from the girl herself, until one day on her lunch break when she hit her with her bike.
Yes. Hit her with her bike.
Brooke was in her head, as usual, imagining the rest of her night cuddled up with her cats, and didnât notice the petite woman making her way across the sidewalk/street/road.
The resulting crash sounded a lot worse than it was. It happened in a flash, and the only reason Brooke knew she hit anything was the squeak the younger girl let out before she fell gracelessly to the ground.
Brooke jumped off her bike immediately and gave the girl her hand.âOh my god! Iâm so sorry.â She mumbled pulling her up. The girl was a lot lighter than Brooke mentally calculated for, and as a result, she ended up pulling Vanessa flush against her. Brooke stepped away quickly, ducking her head to hide the blush that threatened to creep up her neck.
Now would probably be a good time to mention that Brooke had been hopelessly infatuated with Vanessa from the first day she saw her. The petite latina had the body of a Victoriaâs Secret model and the voice of a tractor; it was a stark contrast that Brooke found endlessly fascinating.
âWell if this is the kinda treatment payinâ customers get, maybe I should take my business elsewhere.â
Vanessa was joking.
Brooke was thankful she wasnât mad. Brooke also seemed to have forgotten every word in the English language suddenly.
âLost ya voice there? Thought I was the one that got hurt.â Vanessaâs words snapped Brooke out of her trance.
âOh fuck, god did I hurt you? Iâm so sorry. Come inside, let me clean you up.â
âIt ainât nothin, Mary. Iâll be fine.â
âWell at least take some flowers as an apology.â
âWell if you insist, Miss Brooke.â
Brooke started at the sound of her own name from Vanessaâs mouth, she almost opened her own to ask, but Vanessa cut her off, âYou think Iâd have worked across from a tall drinkâa water like yourself and not creep enough to find out ya name?â
Brooke did blush at this, and almost dropped her keys. She could feel Vanessaâs smirk and eyes burn into her, as she fumbled and finally, fucking finally, got the door open.
Brooke threw the keys in her pocket and flipped on the lights and the OPEN sign. She stood awkwardly in the middle of the rows of hanging hydrangeas as Vanessa made her way around the small shop. She had an amused smile on her face all the while, as she sniffed and ran her fingers so slowly over petals.
âYouâve always been on break when I try to come over and check this place out.â
âOh, sorry I didnât-â
âDonât apologize, Mary. It just means we are going to have to start taking lunch breaks together.â Vanessa came to stand in front of her. âYou owe it to me after nearly killin me with your bike.â
Brooke let some of the tension out of her shoulders as she chuckled lightly. âYouâve got yourself a deal-â
âVanessa.â
âYouâve got yourself a deal, Vanessa.â
Vanessaâs smile filled her whole face, and Brooke had to look away or she was going to do something very stupid, like kiss her.
Brooke coughed lightly. âWhat flowers can I get you, as an apology?â
âWhich ones you think? You da expert after all.â
Brooke smiled. She didnât even have to think before making her way to the front of the shop. âAstilbe.â She said to herself and Vanessa, but mostly herself. The flower was fern-like, but the bright purple blooms feather out in your hands, which often left Brooke with a feeling of whimsy.
âOh yeah, why?â
Brooke blushed again. âThey are supposed to symbolize patience and dedication.â
Vanessaâs smirk widened as Brooke still didnât meet her eyes. âTheyâre beautiful.â Brooke noticed how close Vanessa suddenly was to her, and almost jumped back when the smaller hands brushed against hers to take the small bouquet.
Just as the tension became unbearable, a customer entered the shop, shattering their little paradise. Vanessa gave Brooke a quick smile, but just before letting the door close behind her, she shouted, âDonât forget you owe me lunch tomorrow too.â
Brooke never asked how Vanessa knew when her lunch break was. But the younger woman met Brooke right at three, as she promised, with her purse and a smile as big as Brookeâs chest felt.
They made their way in relative silence along the street/sidewalk/road, only stopping when they both inhaled the scent from the local cafe. They gave each other a look before bursting into giggles. Brooke held the door, and the rest of the hour passed in a daze.
It took them a while to warm up to each other, Vanessaâs brash personality often overpowering Brooke, but still intriguing her to know more about the Puerto Rican spitfire. They made a habit of it though. Every day at three they would get lunch. Vanessa would appear on her doorstep with her purse and a paper bag with the bakeryâs logo on it. They would try to be adventurous and go to new restaurants around the small shopping area, but they always ended up at the cafe.
They would get their food to-go and sit on the roof of the old movie theatre while looking out over the town. Vanessa would steal the fresh cookies right out of the oven and bring them for dessert. She would eat half of them before getting to Brooke, but Brooke never minded. They would sometimes eat in silence, and other times they could hardly finish their food they were talking so much.
One day Vanessa came in earlier than usual. âHey Miss thang, so Iâm gonna have to take a raincheck on lunch today.â
Brooke tried to control her face so it didnât display the sudden pang in her chest. âOh yeah? Got a hot date or something?â
Vanessa wouldnât meet her eyes. âYeah, actually.â
Brookeâs brain suddenly screeched to a halt.
This was fine.
This was normal.
Beautiful girls like Vanessa must get asked out all the time.
It shouldnât be a big deal.
But that doesnât stop the pang in her chest from growing to a beating against her ribcage.
âWell, Iâll have to catch up with you later then.â Brooke turned to get back to work.
âBrooke, wait. I actually need your help.â Vanessa was wringing her hands together, clearly nervous. âI wanted to bring him flowers.â
Great, just fucking great,Brookeâs mind spoke. âOh, ok, sure. What kind were you thinking?â
âCould you do that trick you do?â
Brooke smiled softly. On some days, when Vanessa got on lunch before her, the younger girl would come sit behind the register and ask Brooke which flowers reminded her of people. She would give her reasoning, mostly based on logic, and appearance, and Vanessa would giggle and nod along to her explanation, then pick an entirely different one because she thought it fit better. The hateful thing was that sometimes, Vanessaâs wild guesses based off of no knowledge or thought were right.
âWhatâs he like?â
Vanessa smiled. âHeâs tall, with black hair. Heâs kinda macho man on the outside, but heâs real sweet to me.â
Brooke again held back the facial expression she so desperately wanted to make. She picked a bunch of bright blue cornflowers and tied them neatly before handing them to Vanessa. âBright and cheery like you, but hardy and tough like him. They were usually worn by men in love. They say the flowers will bloom and become more beautiful when the love is reciprocated.â
Vanessa gave her a knowing smile, before rummaging around in her puse for her wallet. Brooke stopped her. âMy treat. To the happy couple.â
âItâs just a first date ma, not marriage.â
And that comment shouldnât have hit Brooke as hard as it did. They had only known each other for a few months, why did the thought of Vanessa marrying some guy make her nauseous.
The latina threw her one last dazzling smile before the bell above the shop gave out a heartbreaking ring.
Vanessa made a habit of stopping by the shop before dates, not that she had many, just the first dates. She would describe her lover and Brooke would pretend her heart wasnât breaking.
One day everything shifted. Vanessa came in early, meaning she had another date. Brooke steeled herself so as not to show any emotion. âHey Mami, gotta another lover lined up for tonight. Can ya help a sister out?â
âYou know the drill by now. What is he like? Tall, dark, and handsome, again?â
âWow, you tryna clock my type?â
Brooke didnât like being called out. She knew that she took too much of an interest in the guys Vanessa dated, she didnât need the other girl knowing about it.
âWell, sheis really funny and charismatic. She-â
Brooke had zoned out at this point.
She.
Vanessa had said âshe.â
Vanessa dated women.
Vanessa liked women.
It shouldnât have hurt more than the others, but it did. If Vanessa just wasnât into girls it would have been hard, but Brooke wasnât here to turn straight girls.
But the reality was actually a million times worse, because Vanessa was into girls, she just wasnât into Brooke.
Brooke mindlessly grabbed the nearest flowers, tying them up, and not meeting Vanessaâs eyes. She couldnât stand to hear about how this girlâssmile made her even more beautiful. She thrust the bouquet in Vanessaâs face, maybe a bit too harshly.
The younger girl looked at her, slightly shocked. Then, realization dawned on her. âOh. I thought you knew. Sorry.â Brooke shook her head lightly. âWell I did tell you that Aquaria and I were more than just roommates.â
âI donât care who you sleep with, âNessa.â Brooke spat out.
Vanessaâs face turned darker, and her voice took on a sharper tone.âWell it seems like you do.â
And Brooke did. She really fucking did.
âWhatever.â Before Brooke could blink, Vanessa was out the door. The bell rang in Brookeâs ears for the remainder of the day.
She didnât see Vanessa for a week. Brooke knew she had only herself to blame. Lashing out at her like that. She hadnât meant to. But Brooke was never good at dealing with her emotions. She was called âtoo emotionalâ when she was younger, and thus, was the most picked on kid in her class. She learned to stop showing those emotions. So much so, that when she was older people chastised her for being âtoo cold.â Brooke couldnât win.
After a week of not seeing her, and missing her more and more every day, Brooke bit the bullet and texted her.
Look, Iâm really sorry. Can we talk?
Vanessa had sent a simple âok.â
Brooke waited impatiently for the clock to hit three. And right on time, as usual, Vanessa appeared in front of her. They stood there for a while. Neither looking at each other. Until they both tried to break the silence.
âLook-â
âListen-â
Vanessa smiled lightly. âGo ahead. Sorry.â
Brooke started. âListen, Iâm really sorry. I donât know what was wrong with me. I shouldnât have acted that way.â Brooke smiled softly. âAll I know is that I miss you. I miss hanging out with you, and this week has been horrible.â
âYeah. I missed your stupidly tall face.â Vanessa smiled. âApology accepted.â
Brooke pulled her into a hug and tried not to let her mind soak in Vanessaâs perfume. Vanessa pulled away first but stayed close with a hopeful look in her eye.
âWell, I actually am going on another date tonight, hopefully. So, I needed your help anyway.â
Brooke plastered on her fake smile again, and ignored her chest constricting. âSure.â
Vanessa looked up at her, a mischievous glint in her eye. âWell, sheâs really sweet. She cares a lot about me.â
âEveryone cares a lot about you, âNessa. Youâre amazing.â
Vanessa winked at her. âSheâs also really bad at keeping secrets. She told me once that she spoiled her momâs birthday surprise because she was so excited to give her gifts.â
Brookeâs smile vanished. She looked at Vanessa shocked, as the younger girl continued. âSheâs also really tall. Got the most beautiful eyes Iâve ever seen.â Vanessa stepped closer to her, making the space between them almost nonexistent. âSheâs got the biggest heart of anybody I ever met. She sometimes can do stupid things and drive people away, but itâs only cause sheâs scared of gettin hurt.â Vanessa got up on her tiptoes, and they were centimeters apart. âIâm not gonna hurt you, Brooke.â
Brooke believed her.
They both leaned in at the same time, and everything fell into place. Vanessaâs arms came to wrap around Brookeâs neck, and Brookeâs hands made a home on Vanessaâs hips. Vanessaâs lips were soft and pliant, and she was every bit as much as an amazing kisser as she was an amazing person.
When they finally came up for air, Brooke rested her forehead on Vanessaâs. Their eyes stayed locked, and huge smiles broke across both of their faces.
âI think I know just the flower.â

13. D Day, I donât know what time it is but Iâll miss her.
Code D day. D like death. The day I die. Fuck.
âFor heâs a jolly good fellow For heâs a jolly good fellow For heâs a jolly good feeellooooow Which nobody can deny!â
Hilarity ensues, my stupid teammates have not stopped singing that song for hours. Congratulations, manly pats on my shoulders, inappropriate jokes about my overfilled sexual life have been raining over me since we have boarded the bombardier. The aircraft was finally fixed around 4 a.m. and we took off for the search-and-rescue mission at 0530 sharp, at sunrise. Fucking Land of the Rising Sun. My last mission as a single, poor guy.
Today Iâm going to get married to the love of my life, with the blessing of the utmost asshole alive, our dearest Colonel Gessepp.
âSo, lucky boy, what is it like to get in Gesseppâs good books?â Mac shoves a cigarillo into my mouth.
âHa ha! Youâre so high on his list Honey!â Phil laughs.
âYeah, you should marry him Cup!"Â Louis jokes.
"Guys, Iâd rather have my face buried in between my brideâs boobs for eternity than to be dealing with him once again. But hey, he paid for the wedding, what should I do?â I blurt out.
âWhat the fuck?â Louis shouts in my ears.
Yeah, I still canât believe it myself. Yesterday, after we had all the wedding stuff ready, which means asking the pastor to marry us, spreading the news to our mates and Jessica and running to my room to have another session of amazing sex, we went back to Gesseppâs where I was officially invited for dinner.
I had any flowers for tomorrow, any ring for my bride, any vows in mind, any place to live with her but I didnât care. I wore her blue shirt and our hands were sealed when we knocked at the door.
Jessie kissed my cheek and Gessepp patted my shoulder as they welcomed me in their house and in their family, ahead of schedule.
Dinner was great, I tried my best to behave like the dickhead I was supposed to be, but failed each time my eyes laid on my beautiful fiancĂŠe. I absent mindedly laughed at the awful jokes and macho shit the Colonel hadnât stopped to spit out. All my attention was focused on her and what I would do to her tomorrow. What our life together would be like. And this was enough to make me hungry.
âSo guys, what are your plans for tomorrow? Cup are you going to wear a groom suit or your dress uniform?â Gessepp asked me shoving a full spoon of the dessert in his dirty mouth.
âIâm a soldier, Sir, Iâll be honoured to take my vows to God and get married in uniform.â Iâm so good playing that shit.
âGood boy. Do you know Angelina planned to wear Jessicaâs wedding dress? It never would fit my wifeâs huge ass anyway⌠I know they started to cut and sew it to Angelinaâs will the day before we had this interview in my office. Deep dip and lace, I hope she wonât look much like a whore!â He laughed loudly, still chewing his bite of cake, which was as disgusting as his words.
I almost choked and Angie just dropped her spoon down, the light smile that had been covering her face vanished, tears dangerously threatened to flow down.
âAh, clumsy girl! Whatâs your problem now?â He angrily said.
âSorry my Colonel⌠It⌠It was supposed to be a surprise. They say itâs bad luck if the groom sees his brideâs outfit before the weddingâŚâ She was fighting back her tears, she looked so miserable. Gessepp just smashed her dream, no regard. Bastard.
âStupid whiner, itâs not like he has seen anything.â He scolded her.
I grabbed her hand and squeezed it gently, nodding my head. I bent to place a sweet kiss in her neck, whispering to her ear.
âNo worry. Youâll be my gorgeous bride, whatever.â
Then added loudly, on a dickhead mode: âWho cares about the wedding dress? What matters lays underneath the lace, doesnât it?â
I forced myself in a wicked laugh, slapping Angieâs thigh, making both of us uncomfortable. But it worked, Jesus, it worked beyond all expectations.
Gessepp nearly spit his bite out and laughed his head off.
âAh ah ah! Ohhh Cup, I have to admit that, at this time, I doubted I would agree to give you her hand, you seemed like a love sick puppy. But as weird as it sounds, I like you son.â He clickety clacked his fingers on the table, judging me from the corner of his eyes.
âWomen out. Go do the dishes or whatever females do when real men have a talk and a cigar.â He orders, getting up from the table and digging into the cupboard for cigars.
As I stood up and started to gather some plates and cutlery, Angie sent me a death glare, no way a real man helped with housework. Jessie quickly grabbed the plate from my hands and disappeared quickly as well.
Angie stood right before me, so close our bodies were almost touching. I couldnât help but cup her face, darn you Gessepp.
I slowly bent down and kissed her lips, in the most romantic way.
âKnock knock, hello lovebirds! Cup, youâll have plenty of time to do your disgusting thing tomorrow. Drop your girl now, she has more important stuff to do in the kitchen. And we have more important stuff to discuss on the terrace.â Gessepp cut off our kiss, a devilish smirk on his lips.
âSon, Iâm waitingâ he grabbed the doorknob and opened the French doors.
Fuck. You. I lost myself in her eyes, Jesus, I couldnât wait. She broke our stare and shyly smiled then sneaked out of my arms before the Colonel grew impatient.
âHe didnât really say he liked you, did he? He called you son, you son of a bitch! â Mac yells to cover the engineâs roars.
âOh I swear he did, man. He also offered to pay for the ceremony. And gave orders for us to be assigned a house next to his so we could settle down next week.â
âI⌠Itâs too much of an honour. I⌠Weâre very grateful. Thank you my Colonel.â
The Colonel went on to congratulate his motherfucker self as we smoked our cigars and it took all I had not to tell him a few home truths.
After what seemed an eternity he finally stopped rambling and I jumped at the chance.
âSir, as much as I appreciate your company, thereâs a bunch of things Angelina and I still have to think about for tomorrow. I donât want to sound disrespectful but⌠I was wondering if you may allow me to take Angelina out for a walkâŚâ
Gessepp smirked devilishly and patted my back. âCup, donât bullshit me. Like you could think about 'having a talkâ just the night before your wedding. Iâm not born yesterday young man. I saw you, sniffing around Angelina like a horny teenager. Go and enjoy that pretty ass of hers!â
What the f
âOh Oh, donât be coy dirty horndog. How long have you been waiting for a good fuck with her? 5 months isnât it? Your balls might look like watermelons donât they?â
My balls are fine, thanks for caring. Angie took good care of them, no worries.
âI donât know what to say, SirâŚâ I started, scratching the back of my neck. Just say something heâd like to hear and run away from here to make love to your beautiful girl.
âI⌠IâŚThatâs an offer I canât refuse. Thanks for your understanding, Sir!â Iâm at attention before that animal who just gave me his consent to a free sex night with my wife-to-be.
I canât help but grabbing his hand, squeezing and shaking it like a madman. I was so happy I could have kissed him, but Iâd rather save my kisses for my wife. My wife.
âOK. Thank you again my Colonel. For the dinner and everything. Iâd better go now.â
I rushed out of the dining room, hitting my hip in the corner of the table in haste, eliciting another loud laugh from the Devil behind me.
âAh Ah! Donât deceive me, son! And make sure the bride is still able to walk tomorrow!â
I mentally flipped the bird to that asshole, running to my girl as fast as I could.
âMan, hope your early honeymoon was as amazing as that dinner! I donât know if I better have to congratulate you or to offer you my condolences for being soon Gesseppâs relative.â Phil laughs.
âThat was a direct order coming from my Colonel, dude. I can tell Angie and I enthusiastically obeyed that dickhead.â I show off.
â Yeah, yeah⌠We all know about that, lucky dog!â Mac makes fun of me.
âWhat do you mean, you all know about it?â I expect the worst from my best mate.
âLetâs say the whole unit heard about your rehearsal on the beach.â He says.
I glance at my team, all smirking widely.
âAhm, every single soul that was having a drink at Matâs bar heard you rehearsing both your honeymoon and your answers to the pastor. You were more like "Fuck Yeah!â but Angie kept crying loud enthusiastic yesses.â
"Oh Cup! Yes, Yes, YESSS!â Phil mimics Angieâs screams of pleasure.
âMotherfuckers!â I swear under my breath. I have to admit we didnât stay quiet, too focused on ourselves to give a shit to the rest of the world.
âHow do you think we spotted you at 0430 to wake you up for that mission?
Shit. Angie already freaked out when Mac found us half naked, asleep on the beach, my body blanketing hers to keep her warm.
"Please donât tell Angie about that, sheâll blush like a virginâŚâ
âWhich she obviously isnât anymore!â Louis jokes, laughing out of loud.
We all join him, laughing our heart out, God I love those guys like theyâre my own family. I cant wait to have them with me tonight when I say I do to my love.
âOK guys, letâs save the naughty stories for your toasts. Please, change the topic before I crack my nerves and go back to my bride. Leaving all of you dead and gone.â
âWhat about telling us one silly joke of yours, lucky duck?â Louis suggests.
All my team cheers and starts singing, clapping hands âCup! Cup! Cup!â
Letâs do this, peeps. Then, keep an eye on the ocean for another 10 minutes to seek traces of the crew weâre supposed to rescue and fly me back home to my bride.
I already can picture her, gorgeous as a white rose in her wedding dress, waiting for me on the landing field, throwing her bouquet over her shoulder as she runs to me, like in slow motion.
I wish I would be able to reach out to catch her when she jumps on me. Iâd love to marvel at her sweet features when she walks up to me at the altar. See the sparkles in her eyes as she says 'I doâ . Lift her veil before kissing her, as the crowd cheers and wooes at us. Oh God, how much I wanted to know how it feels to make love as husband and wife.
These were my thoughts as I was desperately and hopelessly doing the emergency procedure to save the aircraft.
The first engine failed, I was in the middle of the joke. No problem, I could handle that. Beside itâs a good excuse to fly back to Angie sooner than expected.
My dream dies together with the second engine.
Fuck.
I donât know much either about life or love but what I know for sure is you canât expect to fly much longer than 10 minutes with 2 engines out of order. That fucking big piece of junk is heavy as a rock and weâve already been flying so low to spot the survivors, I give it 2 minutes before total badness.
Yeah, too bad. We were so close to happiness. Naah Iâm lying, weâve been so happy, it kills me to think this is about to end. What kills me is to figure out her face when she will not see the bombardier coming back. What kills me is to know she will have to stay with Gessepp. What kills me is that my plane is crashing down in the middle of the ocean.
If itâs time for regrets, Iâd say I should have said more 'I love youâs. I should have told her she was beautiful more often. Touched her, kissed her more often. Hugged her, cuddled her, protected her. Made love to her every single minute of the day.
Oh and I should have told her I knew. Before I left this morning. I should have told her Iâve noticed, few days before I asked her to marry me. Noticed how her breasts were more swollen and sensitive than usual. Noticed the subtle changes in her mood and arousal. Iâm not a scientist but we had sex almost every day in the last two months and she never bled. No trace of women stuff. I should have told her how happy I was about the baby.
People say your whole life flashes before your eyes when itâs the end. Obviously, my life has started the day I met her.
I can clearly feel the softness of her skin under my touch, dear God I love every piece of her. I can remember the taste of her lips the first time I kissed her, and every single kiss we have shared. I can feel the tickles on my side, the first time she shyly put her hands on me. I can ear all her moans and sighs when weâre making love, her crystal laugh and her voice when she called me silly. And itâs still music to my ears, despite the roars of engines and fires.
âIâll love you until death splits us apartâ. Bullshit. Angie Iâll love you and our little bunny until the end of times. My loves. My angels.
I hope she will look like her. Yeah weâre expecting a baby girl, I feel it. And she will have her motherâs beauty and grace. I hope she will look a little like me though, so they would remember me. I would have rocked as a father, I know it. I tried my hands on Abi, the numerous times Angie brought the baby with her. Once, we were having an early picnic lunch on the field and I was playing with that cutie pie, helping her to stand up on her fatty legs on my lap. She was laughing so hard as I scratched my stubble on her neck, eating her up with light kisses. One if her first words was for me; patting my face, she called me Dada. I almost burst into tears. Itâs a shame this could never happen with my baby girl, Angieâs tender gaze wrapping us.
Angie.
Itâs weird like I feel at peace as my life is about to end. Angie always succeeded to soothe me.
âCup, man!â Philâs screams startle me. I think his real name is Russel. Russel Phillips. His face is distended by fear. He gives me a frightened, desperate look. Like itâs the last one he'd ever share.
Fuck!
Itâs not the end even if it looks like it. Iâm a soldier. All those pussyâs whines are enough. Angie is my life. I fought for her and Iâll keep fighting. For them. For us.
As the plane crashes down, I promise myself to survive: I have a girl to marry and a child to meet.
