Idk if this is the right place to talk about this but if not I apologize and feel free to ignore, but I legit found a lesbian terf blog with rape kink posts and it is blowing my mind. Like, how?! Shaming other people often comes from someone’s own deep-rooted shame and, imo, kink is also very connected to our shame.

When I first got into Hetalia (a bit over 2 years ago) and started to know England and Germany, my brain totally went “oh yeah they make one great ship” only to be disappointed at how little is out there of these two. Like how come ppl not see how great they are together - there’s just so much goddamn potential! And now over 14 years later since the anime, it seems the fandom as a whole still didn’t catch up on this. Alas, I found u and I’m infinitely glad for tht. There really isn't a lot of content for them and that's a shame... Though I think it's gained a bit more popularity thanks to the adlib the creator of Dreamtalia did in her play through of it which created a whole GerEng subplot (that's how I got into the ship) and then creators like Teethhoarder (who runs the blog asking-gereng and has made many great fanart and fics of them) and myself who has made so many little fics and headcanons for them specifically. But still, it is underrated compared to other ships.

That's actually part of the reason I started making content for them. There was so little of it. And now I've been going 3 years strong writing fics.

And don't worry there is actually a handful of us who ship it. Teeth like I've mentioned and there is a whole GerEng discord server (ran by yours truly). But listen to me ramble. You want an au.

Here's probably one of my favourite aus. GerEng Roadtrip AU.

We've got character arcs, slow burn, finding yourself. It's so good, I love it. The GerEng server was great for sharing ideas and we built on it together.

Anyway, Ludwig is going to university for engineering, but after his first year and after doing very poorly on an exam, he's devastated because perfectionism, but also something else bubbling underneath that he's yet to realize/acknowledge.

With the school year ending, Ludwig decides to go stay with his brother for the summer. After all, despite owning it for a couple years now, Ludwig never got to visit the record shop his brother opened and Ludwig needs to get away for a little bit so why not spend the summer in a small quaint town near a river?

Arthur is on of Gil's employees. He and Ludwig don't exactly get off on the right foot. Arthur's grouchy, prickly, a smoker. But Arthur catches Ludwig sifting through some rock albums and the two start to bond over their shared music taste, only to find out they actually have a lot in common and enjoy spending time together.

A little over a month before Ludwig is set to return to school, Arthur proposes they go on a road trip together. One last hurrah before they go their separate ways. Ludwig, feeling more and more anxious as the date of school approaches, agrees for the distraction.

They travel all over, to all kinds of little towns, seeing all kinds of sights. And in the process, learn that they're both kind of broken and lost but find comfort in each other.

Like one time they stay at a campground and have a campfire. Arthur brought his guitar so he strums a bit as they sit. Ludwig asks if Arthur can sing. And Arthur makes a weird face, but gives in and they end up singing together.

One time they stay at a hotel but because it's summer and there is a big event going on, almost all the hotels are booked up, so they have to stay in a room where there is only one bedTM.

They stop in the middle of no where to watch the sunset. And they may or may not share their first kiss in this moment.

They go to some big mall and they end up having to help a lost kid together. Ludwig falls harder seeing how Arthur is with kids.

But it's not all fun and games. Over the course of their trip Ludwig learns Arthur used to be in a rock band. They were just about to hit it big, in talks with fairly big record company only for Arthur to get a case of vocal nodes that changed his voice forever. It changed his sound, his range, and though he still sounds decent he hates how he sounds now. And even if he was find with the sound of his voice, he didn't have the vocal fortitude to be a professional singer. Just when his dream was about to come true it was all snatched away.

Gilbert, a fan of Arthur's band who had become a dear friend offered Arthur a job at the record store to try to help him back on his feet.

Singing with Ludwig during their travels was the first time Arthur sang after the damage. Ludwig thinks he sounds beautiful.

Arthur mentions in passing once that he used to be a singer in a band. So when Ludwig hears Arthur sing, he asks why he doesn't anymore. This leads to an argument as some of Arthur's old wounds open up, making him more defensive and Ludwig doesn't know the full story so he doesn't get why Arthur is suddenly angry.

But eventually Arthur opens up, reminiscing about going on little tours with his band to nearby towns. Ludwig of course listens intently to all the stories Arthur starts to share about his band. Arthur ends up getting a little emotional by the end and Ludwig just hugs him. They stay like that longer than they probably should but Arthur can't deny it makes him feel warm and fuzzy.

Ludwig has his own struggles. He is dealing with his first major failure and with a bad case of anxiety and perfectionism it isn't easy. But there is even more to it. Ludwig has long had the doubt that engineering and university in general is the right path. He knows he's smart enough to be there (even though his anxiety sometimes tries to tell him differently), but his just isn't passionate about what he's studying and if he was to change paths he doesn't know to what. Some of his shitty feelings from failing the exam are connected to this doubt though he's not fully aware of it yet.

Anyway. The car breaks down some time during their trip and Ludwig fixes it. Arthur notices how focused and in the zone Ludwig is working on the car. It reminds Arthur of how he would get playing music. He knows Ludwig is going to university and is struggling a bit, but there is much of story he's still missing. He doesn't even know what Ludwig is studying. So he finally asks about it. Since at this point Arthur has opened up to Ludwig, Ludwig figures it's only fair to open up to Arthur and perhaps finally confiding in someone will might make him feel better.

Ludwig finally admits he's not happy in his program, but he doesn't know what else to do and he doesn't want to disappoint anyone who had high expectations of them (everyone around him just assumed he'd go to university because he was so academically gifted).

"Fuck them all," Arthur replies, "Do what you want first. That's what I always did."

"It's not that easy for me," Ludwig fires back, "Plus...I don't even know what I want."

"I wonder why..."

"What?"

"Nothing. Look Ludwig. I couldn't pursue my dream job, now look at me. Wasting away in that old record shop. I don't want that with you. You have a chance to do something you love, take it. Pursue it until you can't."

"Arthur I-I don't..."

"If you won't do it for yourself, do it for me. If you need an idea, I think you'd make a really good mechanic

Ludwig thinks about it. Reflects a bit and takes Arthur's words to heart and decides perhaps a mechanic apprenticeship would be his best path. He always liked tinkering with cars and machinery and being hands on with it. Wouldn't hurt to at least look into the idea.

Ludwig, thankful for Arthur helping him onto the right path, wants to help Arthur find a new passion or a way he can embrace music in a different way. Ludwig recalls how Arthur taught him a few cords on guitar and how good of a teacher Arthur is. So maybe Arthur could give lessons or even go to school to be a music teacher. Arthur shoots him down, but Ludwig catches Arthur researching what it takes to be a music teacher.

Anyway. The road trip comes to an end and Ludwig has to make his choice. Return to university, to a program he dislikes, or take a chance and stay and get an apprenticeship in town. So just as Gilbert is about to take him back to the city Ludwig comes clean. How he doesn't like his program, that he wants to try an apprenticeship as a mechanic. Ludwig is terrified of Gilbert's reaction, that he'll be disappointed, but Arthur's words echo in his head, keeping him grounded.

Instead, Gilbert is happy for him. "You always did love working on cars," he notes, "Remember our old neighbour who let you tinker on an old, broken down car they had? If only we could have gotten a new engine, perhaps it could have been saved from being scrapped.

Ludwig is shocked, having almost forgotten that summer.

"I bet someone would love to hear that news," Gilbert says with a smirk.

Ludwig runs back to the record shop, but Arthur is missing from his post. Lud hears a faint noise coming from the back room and finds Arthur, next to the old record player, singing along to the song they sung together around the fire. He sits and listens, only revealing he's there when Arthur finishes and Ludwig applauds.

Ludwig tells him how he's going to stay in town and try to get an apprenticeship with a mechanic Gil knows. Arthur is elated, jumping to his feet and kissing Ludwig hard. Their first kiss since that one time on the road during the sunset that they had thought they'd never talk about again.

"But on one condition," Ludwig says, pulling away breathlessly, "You look into school for next year and become a music teacher."

"Ludwig..."

"If you can't do it for yourself, then do it for me," Ludwig smirks.

Arthur can't help but laugh and kiss him again. "Okay. For you then."

And in the end, Arthur does become a music teacher and Ludwig gets to take over the shop he did his mechanic apprenticeship at. They also date and eventually get married 🥰

With how social Zee is and with how little I talked to Lexi I have no idea where they stand. Champ said I was her #1 but she's spent more time post-swap than we spent together so I don't know how things may have changed. Also still ever aware that if Raffy or Michael have an idol and they play it successfully if we did go to tribal one of the Elite is gone. I've talked more with Raffy than it sounds like Steven or Kaleigh have and I don't know if that's good or bad for me. I haven't talked to Michael at all since the first day of the swap. I've also done suuuch strategy with the Elite that it's making me rethink how to move forward: original 5 or the Elite and maybe try and pull in Champ? I've got options, I've just gotta make sure I have the opportunity to make use of them.

okay, two nights ago steven and alex and i had a little soca elite phone call and talked for over an hour. we talked about our idol hunting and advantages disadvantages etc and i am liiiiiike…………. very uncertain about whether or not i was caught in a LIEEEE which is like torturous. basically we decided to pool our info on idol hunting (which is actually something zee and i did, her idea, love it, but we didn’t get far) and i made the doc and we were sharing info (which, i’m pretty sure at least steven withheld some info bc he said he did all but one idol hunt and i didn’t actually count bc i am lazy and drc but it FELLLTTT like he was short when we were going over the ones we had done… but i could be absolutely wrong LMAO) , andddd i was like, ok i should maybe keep SOOOMETHING to myself IDK this is survivor i need to stop being SO transparent and bimboey... so i decided to not tell them about a $5 advantage i got (NOT WORTH IT FOR THE RECORD) and pretend i hadn’t done it. BUT. earlier in the convo we had just casually been talking about the things we’d done and i didn’t REMEMBER that the abandoned sandcastles was the one that gave me $5 , and steven was like “yeah i helped the kids w the sandcastles and got nothing,” and i was like “oh yeah i explored the abandoned sandcastles and got nothing” LMFAOOOO so then when i made the DOCument, i invited steven and alex, and i had typed out the sandcastle one as one of the options, but not marked a result, even though if i hadn’t actually done it like i claimed i wouldn’t even have that information as the options. and steven was like “didn’t u say u did the abandoned sandcastles?” and i was like no? i thought u did? If my work calendar didn't look completely ugly, I would currently be creating a spreadsheet with all the remaining members of all the teams and what I know of them. e.g., Nick - Maracas - largely absent and non-participatory. I'm half convinced he's gonna strike out this round and spare us the need to vote. Makes me more bitter that Kathryn offered herself up, because I'm pretty sure even in Hawaii she coulda come up with a list of 8 things. ok gonna make a whole separate post actually bcos of reasons, it’s long and i have more thoughts and those don’t belong in tags on other ppl’s posts (shh i’m getting distracted from homework it’s FINE)

i’ve touched on this with like, ‘don’t bully jon he is TRYING his BEST’, but when ppl say he wasn’t empathetic and kind in s1 i’m always so. so sad.

he was FRIENDS with sasha and tim at least from BEFORE the archives. he asked them to come. he accepts sasha’s teasing about ‘calliope’ and gives back silly comments about the pronunciation (academic, but still silly!)

jon snaps at tim when he is VERY stressed about the worms and everything, but then when tim goes ‘whoa’ jon does back off, and soften, and explain that he’s not sleeping much and this is too much for him to handle (and tim doesn’t push, he says ok and changes the subject a little and then lets jon come up with a temporary solution)

and in s2 and s3 when tim can actually talk to martin and later jon, we hear some little bits of their friendship and it hurts by the time we hear but. yeah it was always there.

(and also the VERY FIRST TIME he interacts with a statement giver he is SO SO KIND to naomi, this grieving, traumatized young woman. from the START he has been kind.

so when people says he wasn’t kind then and that he ‘learned’ to be kind i get so upset  (altho i don’t talk about it a lot) bcos like, just bcos he’s dry and professional ON TAPE WHEN HE IS RECORDING FOR WORK that doesn’t mean that’s how he lives his life

BUT people seeing the softer more playful side of him in the 161 birthday tape has me thinking about this again. and about what a good fucking job jonny did writing about it.

bcos in real actual life people suffer, and so so SO often you get told ‘suffering is good for you�� or ‘your trauma is god’s/life’s/the universe’s plan for you’ ‘the pain is making you a better person’ or some other bullshit like that. and it IS bullshit. it is absolutely 100% bullshit.

you don’t need pain to be kind. you don’t have to suffer to be nice to people. people suffer because the system is fucking broken, not because they aren’t kind enough and need to be taught a lesson, like what kind of fucked up thinking is that? being told that always made me feel like i was being told i wasn’t good enough, and the people who were cruel but not suffering the same as me somehow were, and that shit hurt.

so i’m glad jonny made it Very Fucking Clear that suffering through horrific fear and trauma did not make jon better or kinder in any way. i’m glad he made it explicitly fucking clear that suffering is not a tool the world uses to fix you. it’s just suffering. and it’s hard as fuck to hear that spelled out, but it’s important.

/end rant. that art reminded me of one of junji ito comics where ppl will get small branches with red bubles growing out of them, that was highly infectious and the end result was that person will turn into a bush XD they where still alive, but unable to move, and ppl who where close together become a sort of bush colony. I feel like a broken record when I say that, but it bears repeating: in the perfect world people just ignore content they don’t like and understand that if you don’t get it, it’s not for you to get. “I don’t like it” doesn’t mean “it shouldn’t exist”. People have different tastes and tolerance levels when it comes to spooky stuff, that’s perfectly normal, what’s not ok is acting like others are sick people for drawing/liking it and reporting things that don’t violate any rules just because you find it gross.

Like we said already, we don’t want to post only safe, neutral and widely acceptable things. We don’t want to only draw characters posing neutrally, having sweet moments and acting as nice as possible. There’s nothing wrong with this type of stuff, it’s just boring to us personally. Horror and creepy stuff has always been a part of our identity as creators. We love it a lot, and getting comments from people who enjoy this genre too is always super rewarding. And these are the moments when I regret holding back the most – when I see that there are people who find our ideas fun and are ready to support us for them.

You also know that after posting so much safe stuff, the moment you post anything even remotely “questionable”, it’s over for you. You’ve “betrayed” them, there was always something off about you, you know the drill. This is the reason why my non-snk twitter is locked. We’re glad that we gained enough courage to kill ourselves as creators when we posted our first “problematic” shit. It’s liberating... nobody wants to talk to you from the get-go, and we’re happy to be left alone.

mcu spiderman rewrite/au i may or may not do

ok so first quick disclaimer! i do not hate the mcu spider man movies in any way!! i actually enjoy them quite a bit and have seen homecoming like 4 times! and i absolutely adore all the actors in the movies, especially tom, zendaya, and jacob 

but the problem w/ the mcu spiderman movies is,,, they’re just not spiderman. at least from a writing/thematic perspective, which sucks bc so much other stuff about them is great! like tom holland is the perfect peter parker, which is why it seems so close to being right, but with the way the script is actually written... it’s just. not spider-man. 

i feel the need to explain all this/my problems w/ the movies b4 i get into the actuall au idea/plot, so please bear with me for a sec

for context, I’ve loved spiderman my whole life. i’d watch the cartoons when i was younger, and then went back and watched them all again when i was a bit older and figured out how to pirate stuff lol. i didn’t really know how to get into the comics, so i just kinda read wikis and got second-hand info from fanfics and the other movies

to me, spiderman, (at least, peter parker spiderman,) was always about like... a kid, who saw the world was broken and fixed it because he could. he had the power to fix stuff, so he did. 

as a kid w/ mental illness and a not so great home life... that was something really really important to me. to see another kid out there, who’s been through some shit, but finally has the power to make stuff better, so he is! and it would make me think, maybe i can change stuff for the better, someday, if i just get my chance

but,,,,, the problem is mcu peter parker isn’t that. 

instead of becoming spiderman bc he knows there’s bad in the world and wants to fix it, suddenly his motivation is impressing tony stark?? and don’t get me wrong i don’t hate tony, but the way they wrote his and peter’s relationship basically trapped peter. he could no longer be his own hero, bc he was tony’s successor. and that's never who peter parker’s spiderman was?? he was never a follower, he was a trendsetter. he didn’t become spiderman for approval, hell he had dozens of newspapers constantly slandering him. 

honestly the following in someone else’s footsteps thing was always a miles morales thing. he had to step up to the plate and fill the shoes of a spiderman who had already existed for years and was beloved by the whole city. obviously thats not all he is and simplifying his character to that is incredibly obtuse, but i bring it up bc tbh alot of stuff w/ mcu peter parker is just straight-up ripped off from miles morales. like how peter now goes to a fancy private school, is no longer poor (which is a huge thing w/ peter parker’s character in like every other incarnation), has a living father figure, and is bffs w/ ned, who is a straight-up rip off of miles’s best friend ganke. (for the record tho i adore ned and jacob i’m def keeping him in my rewrite,,,, also i’m glad he’s in the movie bc having a plus sized poc protagonist thats not constantly mocked is incredible) 

so, i’m complaining about all this stuff lol but ur probably wondering how exactly how i wanna fix it lol,,,, 

first, give peter an arc thats more than just..... i want tony to believe in me. my idea for that is basically a type of thing where he learns to rely on others! bc like... peter isn’t good at working w/ others lol, he’d much rather do it all himself so no one else gets hurt. (like in the andrew garfield movies where he just,,,, webs his gf to a car so she can’t run into danger lmao) 

the plot would start at a similar ish position to homecoming, though tony never recruits peter for civil war. tbh not sure if it even happened but we’ll disscuss that later

peter’s been spiderman for a few months, after a trip to oscorp left him w/ a radioactive spider bite. currently no one knows about it, and he’s doing a pretty ok job of dealing w/ everything on his own. until he takes down a big bad, lets say rhino for now, and gains a ton of publicity. after stooping a hudge disaster he’s suddenly in the limelight, and catches the attention of one norman osborn, aka the green goblin 

now, quick sidenote. green goblin is genreally seen as pretty goofy, but there are comic versions of him that are legit terrifying. if im being honest i didn’t even know about that version until i read aloneintherains fic birds eating other birds so ig thats kinda ish how i’m imagining this version of norman? though alot more composed, like the man who could someday turn into that 

so norman becomes intrested in my boy peter, and starts sending ppl after him. possibly the sinister 6, but uhh maybe not bc tbh i think this “rewrite” needs to be split into 2 “movies”/works and i might wanna save that for the hypothetical pt2 (btw if i write this it won’t b for a while cause i got other stuff going on but ig if ppl are intrested i might write some snippits/make more content for it) 

so basically the main plot is peter dealing w/ all these big bads on his own, doing ok at first but later getting really fucked up, and eventually revealing himself to ned and mj which ends up being the only way he can save the day in the end. by relying on others! yay!! 

thats it for the main plot, but don’t worry y’all we got other stuff going on too lmao 

so, for one. my boy peter is realizing he has a crush and just,,,, freaking tf out. (i have yet to decide if it’s on ned or mj. or both. sue me) the crush isn’t definitely resolved in p1, but i imagine there’d be some cute thing of him suddenly realizing and freaking out and almost revealing his powers. 

thing 2! tony stark! he is still in here, and still a mentor to peter, but in a pretty drastically different way. one, he doesn't know about peter being spiderman. he doesn't even suspect it lmao. he just gets involved bc of.... some sort of reason bc peter is so smart. do i know why just yet? no. does it matter? probably but i’m writing this pretty late after i had school all day so i’m too tired to care 

bc tony basically gives peter a real internship/mentorship type thing, peter now has access to all this tech!! and all these funds!! fucking lit!! so he changes from his pajama suit to the fancy one, tho he actually built it!! which i feel like him making his suit is a really big really important part of his character. so it doesn't really have all those random things tony added, tho peter might add stuff himself. he gets Karan as a like assistant ai as part of his internship but she never gets put into the suit

for the fist part tony plays a super minor role but like,,,, the first part is about osborn taking an intrest in him, and him confiding in ned and mj. the second part norman is become progressively more dangorus and peter has to fight him and stuff, kinda proving he is strong enough to be spiderman/be trusted to the whole world, beyond just ned and mj. also him actually getting together w/ either one or both of them bc...... bc i want that. 

oh btw idk if tony finds out or not in p2? if he does it’s either at the end or in a scene like the one w/ may bc like. please imagine the shenanigans of peter and ned (who both have high intellegence but low wisdom) in tony’s lab, obviously trying to hide the fact that peter’s spiderman. like he walks in on them and peter looks all frumpy bc he’s been trying to change real fast, and ned’s shirt is messed up bc he just stuffed the mask down the front of it, and mj is just. chilling behing them. so tony just like assumes stuff and is like....aight.... have fun.... 

oh btw the last big change that i didn’t really have anyway to insert natrually into this,,,, so remember how i said ned was kinda a ripoff of ganke? well, the writers claim he’s a “composite character” so i figured, why not give him traits from other famous spiderman side character so he actually is a composite character! 

so like,,,, throughout p1 it’s referenced that ned has a kinda dickish estranged ish dad that he hates and his mom doesn't really like but kinda forces him too... theres some mentions of his dad wanting him to transfer to a private school and being kinda rich, bur he dosen’t want to bc he knows his dad is a total dickead,,,, anyway end of the movie we find out norman osborn is ned’s dad, and ned hates him even fucking more bc it’s like bitch?? u tried to get my (maybe) bf murdered?? tf?? and its lowkey bc he can’t reveal peter’s id, but then in p2 after norman takes matters into his own hands and tries to kill peter on his own ned just fucking yells at him while the man is in jail and is like fuck u lmao 

soooo thats my really messy au idea!! i’m really tired sorry if this is hard to understand or rude! for the record i have nothing against the ppl who adore these movie’s, i just think they could be better!

What if Snafu doesnt really like it at first because not really his type but she grows on ppl & Snafu finally like her but she already asked him out & he said no & so she doesnt want want to be with him bc she’s scared it’s a joke and so Sledge comes to the rescue and just acts like the Bro-angel he is !

Part 1 / Part 2

“If you won’t move your asses right this second, we’ll be dead within the blink of an eye! Go!” You snap at the group, who only offer you some glares in return. They pack their stuff in record time, getting ready to walk further, when another bomb explodes right beside your pit.

“Go!” You yell, and move forwards, your group trailing behind you as you run towards the next stop. You can hear some of your men get hit, but nothing that prevents them from running. Once you make it to your second pit, you tell them to take a breather.

You were one of the few female marines in the whole army. You were quickly promoted to squad leader due to your attitude and bravery. It had been clear you were a born leader from the moment you joined. 

You nand the other girls had formed a sort of bond, and to say you were one of the fiercest soldier out there would be an understatement. You had known the other girls from the beginning, and usually you would guide them through the battlefield. To have an all male squad was quite unusual and you were aware of the reason why. They didn’t take you seriously.

“We’ll camp out here. Take some rest.” You command, and they nod, too exhausted to leave you a sexist remark.

Later that night, you’re walking through the tents of the camp you managed to reach. In desperate search for your friends, after spending days with the male marines, you were desperate for a conversation that wasn’t for degrading you.

Finally you spotted your friend, and with a loud whistle you announced your arrival, which has her smirking, and wave you over.

“Y/n, finally you’re back!”

Playfully you hit the back of her helmet, which makes it slip past her eyes. The others of the group laugh at the sight, and you grin as well before plopping down next to her. Looking around her squad, they definitely seemed more experienced than yours, and there hadn’t been any stupid remarks so far.

“I’m okay, my group is definitely not making it out there, but I’m trying to push them through.”

She nods and motions towards her squad, and you curiously roam your eyes over the group.

“This is my squad. They’re the good ones, I can tell you!”

She points towards a blonde one, who nods and offers you a smile.

“This is Eugene.”

“Call me Sledge.” He offers, and you nod appreciatively.

“Leyden...” She tells you while pointing towards the little man in the corner of the pit. Then she nods towards the person next to Sledge. A cigarette dangles from his lips, and he’s looking back at you with half lidded eyes. His tan skin fits with his captivating eyes perfectly, and you hum at the sight, which has your friend chuckling.

“Snafu...”

“Must be a reason to earn a nickname like that.” You ask him, and fish a cigarette from your own pocket, raising an eyebrow at him as you light it.

He rolls his eyes, and grunts in response, which has you even more challenged to rile him up.

“Excuse me, I couldn’t hear you over the sound of your attitude.”

The groups silently laughs at your comment, but Snafu seems a little less impressed, and more amused by the way you fire back at him.

“Well, you better get used to it, princess.”

You rolll your eyes at the nickname, and you are about to open your mouth once more, before someone from your group calls out to you. 

“I gotta go. I’ll meet you back at camp.” She nods,and you run back towards your group. Somehow Snafu was still on your mind. He was rather attractive, and the way he smirked up at you made you feel some kind of way. You shrug the thought off and command your group to pack up, yet again.

The whole camp was celebrating, bottles of rum being passed around and music being blast from the speakers all throughout the camp. The enemy surrendered, and it was time to go home, which was why everybody was in a good mood.

Another sip was taking from the bottle in your hand. It burned a path down your throat, but left a nice buzz lingering through your body. Down at the bottom of the hill, your friend and Sledge were happily singing along, arm hooked onto one another as they danced, minds dazed by the alcohol they consumed. It was an amusing sight and you chuckle at their child like behavior.

“Here, Snaf.” 

You hand the bottle towards Snafu, who was sat beside you, also looking over the crowd of people as well.

The last couple of months you and Snafu had become great friends. If you could, you’d join their squad for some card games or nights getting drunk, and it had really bloomed into a beautiful friendship.

“What do we do now?” He questions as he detaches the bottle from his lips. He eyes the label, before handing it back to you. 

“If you don’t have any plans, you could always come to visit.” It’s a serious offer, but Snafu laughs, and for some reason it leaves you embarrassed. You chuckle along, but quickly sip from the rum to silence yourself.

“Why would I do that?” Is his responds, and it has your rum taste like liquid fire as the embarrassment continues. “I mean, we could spend some time together.”

“I don’t like you like that, Y/n.”

His words hit you like a truck. The past few months, all you had heard were whistles,flirty remarks and googly eyes, and now, as you practically confessed to him, he waving you off like you’re just another girl. 

“Seriouly? So these past few months meant nothing to you?”

“Of course It did, it’s just,” He rises from his position and makes hi way down the hill. Before he reaches the bottom, he turns back, knowing he owes you an explanation. “You’re not my type. Loud, cocky, you know.” He’s trying not to hurt your feelings, but he’s failing miserably, and you can’t help but glare at him.

He joins the rest of the squad at the bottom of the hill, and leaves you with a broken heart on top of it.

“Fuck you, Snafu.”

As you walked into the familiar building, it didn’t surprise you that many heads turned in your direction. Eyes roamed down your appearance, inspecting the red dress that framed your body perfectly, and matched the shade on your lips. It gave you a boost of confidence as you walked towards the bar and received several whistles, and just to tease you swayed your hips just a little bit more.

Louise, the bartender, already hands you a glass as you approach her, and you offer her a nod as a thank you. 

A few minutes later, and the doors of the bar open once more, and your friend from your marine days walks in looking just as beautiful as you. Her eyes twinkle as she spots you, and you whistle once she nears you. The usual whistle, which reminded you of your army days. 

”Look at you, Rita Hayworth.” You compliment, and she giggles in response. It was slightly unusual to see her wearing a dress instead of a uniform, but it also made it extra fun.

”Oh come on! I look nothing like her!”

”I think the guys think differently...” You tease and nod behind her. As she turns her head, several man avert their attention to something else, afraid to get caught peeking at her beautiful looks.

She chuckles, then turns her attention to you, and how you’re dressed as well.

”Y/n, I barely recognized you without your boots, but you look absolutely stunning. You’re like a pin up model!”

The two of you took a seat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. The conversation was going well, until her smile faltered and a look of worry replaced her grin as she looked at the clock. Your eyebrows furrowed and you placed a hand on her knee.

“What’s wrong? You look concerned...”

“Nothing is wrong, it’s just... I invited some more people-” As if on cue, her stool was rotated by none other than Eugene Sledge. He has her face him, and you can’t help but grin at the sight of him. “It’s good to see you girls again.”

“Eugene! It’s been a while...” You exclaim happily, and attack him in a hug, which he accepts with a chuckle. It feels good to see him again after 2 years, and you’re eager to catch up as he takes a seat beside the two of you.

But as Eugene moved, you came face to face with the one you had tried to erase from your memory. The one that broke your heart 3 months ago and didn’t bother contacting you again.

His eyes roam up your appearance, lingering slightly at your chest before eventually reaching your eyes. His usual smirk tugs at the corners of his lips, from where he removes his cigarette. Smoke slips from his mouth and into the air, and he taps the stick above the nearest ashtray.

“You’re looking good, princess.”

Ignoring his words, you turn towards Sledge and your friend, motioning towards Snafu with a look of irritation.

“What the hell is he doing here?”

“I was supposed to meet Y/f/n here, but figured she’d bring you along. I hadn’t spoken to Snafu ever since we parted and invited him along.”

Not pleased at all with his answers, you nod nonetheless and turn towards the bar, taking a sip from your whiskey and trying to ignore Snafu, who had decided to take a seat beside you.

“I’m, not used to seeing you like this.” 

He offers you a cigarette, and to your own surprise you take one from him, and let him light it for you. Inhaling you feel yourself relax slightly at the smoke, and you manage to look Snafu in the eye without wanting to punch him.

“It’s been a while, Shelton.” You state the obvious, but he’s already glad you’re even talking to him.

“It has. You’ve changed.”

“I haven’t. I’m just dressed differently.”

He chuckles. You’re still as feisty as when you first met, and he loves how easy you snap back at him. It was all going fine, small talk with Snafu, until he’s leaning into you and offering you another drink.

“What do you say? Let’s go out together sometimes...”

Automatically your eyes narrow at him, knowing he was just asking because of how you looked. With a scoff you turn away from him and grab your clutch, heading for the exit. Your friend notices and leaves Sledge to run after you.

“Woah, woah, Y/n, what’s the matter?” Her hand grabs your arm, and you roughly pull it from her grip, turning to her with rage pooling in your eyes.

“That bastard just asked me out! After rejecting me, and then never contacting me, he asks me out? What a douche bag!” Sledge joins the three of you, but you only offer him a look of anger, before making your way out of the bar.

Your friend tries to run after you, but Sledge offers to go instead, and follows you outside. He spots you on a bench just outside the small bar, arms folded over your chest while a cigarette dangled from your lips.  “Y/n...”  At the mention of your name, you look up and meet the gaze of Sledge. Throwing the cigarette on the ground, you angrily step on it before huffing to yourself. “What?”

“Give him a chance.” It has your jaw slack that he even dares to ask, but before you can spill your thoughts, he’s interrupting you with clear reasoning.

“He’s changed, Y/n. He’s been talking about you ever since he stepped into my car. He likes you, but he has a hard time confessing.”

It warm out. Warm enough for you to reveal some leg and go out without a jacket. Still there’s shivers crawling up your spine. It not clear if you’re cold or just confused, but you rub your hands together for either reason.

“I don’t know.”

“Please. Just one date, and he’ll prove it to you.”

You meet Sledge’s gaze, and smile as he pouts at you. A sigh of frustration escapes your lips, and you groan before getting up from your seat.

“Fine. But he’ll need to give it all he got.”

The two of you return after some more small talk, and your friend and Snafu are still seated at the bar. His eyes brighten at the sight of you, and he opens his mouth. Instead, you poke him on the chest and narrow your eyes at him.

“One date, Snafu. You better make it good.”

He grins like a child on christmas morning, and offers the back of your hand a peck, before guiding you back towards the stools. He leans closer, and you blush as he whispers in your ear. Accent thick and voice seductively deep.

“Imma make it the best day of your life, princess.”

A/N: I’M BAAACK!!!! I went through a bit of a writer’s block-cross-plot muddle-up, but whatever. Thank you for being patient and I hope it’s good (??)

The Beginning || Part 8

It’s been a little under a week since your altercation with Haebin and so far, no repercussions. Maybe between your ferocity, Younghyun’s hand taking up permanent residence on your shoulder or Dowoon’s sudden close proximity to you, they’ve gotten the hint. So, honestly, you’d hoped that it would all blow over, everyone’s attention on the next episode of high school drama.

It’s Saturday and you’ve herded your history project partners, Sungjin and Wonpil, down to the library for some blissful quiet to work in. Contrary to popular belief, you’re one of the few people in the world who actually like group projects. You like sharing the load and bouncing ideas off one another. Maybe it’s only because you’ve had a good track record with your groups.

The three of you work fairly seamlessly, murmuring something here and there about Joseon architecture. You’re admiring Wonpil’s handwriting, fine and delicate the way he is, along with the swift, sentimental speed at which he thinks. The someone speaks, casting your name out in a whisper.

“You sure cut down Haebin, huh? Haven’t heard a peep out of her all week - Dowoon’s living the dream.”

You blink, following the source of the sound up to Wonpil’s kind face. “Uh, yeah. People are still giving me funny looks for it. So what, I raised my voice and got a bit angry.”

Sungjin surfaces and nods, humming in agreement. The days that followed entailed curious looks and awe-filled questions. You must have sounded like a broken record by the end of the week - you certainly felt like one. You scribble a writing idea down in your margin for later - mermaids are still cool, right?

“Why did you get so tense about it, anyway? A shut up would have done the trick.” Wonpil adds, fluffing at his fringe.

Your mind is quiet. He’s right.

You stop twirling your pen on the pages of your notebook. “I...I don’t know.”

Really, you don’t. As much as your works with Young K were true, the passion that fuelled it didn’t completely stem from the injustice you heard - you have never been that possessive and righteous. It wasn’t that serious.

On the way home, the sun just kissing the horizon, Wonpil takes a detour for his sister - her birthday is coming up. So Sungjin and yourself are the only ones at the bus stop. You’re still thinking, anything and everything irking you. Sungjin had a chuckle at your vague, but creased expression.

You look at him ever so slowly, straightening out your willowy pastel top. “Yeah? Did I miss something?”

“No, not at all. You just look like something is on your mind.”

Sure is. Your mind has since drifted from Haebin to Younghyun though. The various expressions that flit across his face in a day, each one just as interesting. An easy laugh that you’re happy you get to hear. The moments when you walk home that his fingertips brush yours. It hits you soft and hard, like a breeze tickling your cheeks and a punch to the stomach all at the same time. You curse, dark and loud.

“I think I might have a crush on your bassist, Sungjin-ah.” You mumble grudgingly.

Sungjin laughs, low and warm, puffing out your name on a disbelieving breath. “A crush, huh?”

You stamp your feet on the cracked pavement, kicking out at his shin. He curls forward and groans on impact. The sun turns his hair a kind red-brown, ruffled from the spring breeze.

“Don’t make fun of me!” You whine.

“Sorry. But I could already tell how you felt about him. You can’t hide your emotions very well.” He says, shrugging.

You lean against the side of the bus shelter, shock securing that blank look on your face again. You have been hiding them? This feels like a fairly recent development. A dramatic revelation. Sungjin is talking about this as if it’s been like that since the beginning. A gust of wind whistle through the shelter and between you but you don’t jump at it like before. The husky singer grins proudly at all of this.

“And what - what makes you think you know me?” You say thin, but lightly mocking.

“Didn’t you say it yourself? You’re an open book.”

That shuts you up again.

Oh, now comes the panic. When you get in, you fling yourself on your bed, denim skirt riding up horribly as you stare blankly at the ceiling. Truly, you are in some high school themed drama. How long have you liked him? Does he know? Is your new friendship the price you’re willing to pay for this?

You try and distract yourself from the running thoughts of Young K with homework due in, but after an hour and a bit of reading most of the same sentences over and over again, your usually flowing writing grinding to a halt, you toss it in. It’s late, but still relatively active outside. It can’t be healthy to think about this so much, nor try and study the way you currently are. So, ignoring the signs of the weather and the chill still nipping the breeze, you break for air, glad it’s a weekend. Pulling out your old bike and pedaling down to the riverside park, ignoring the potential for bugs. You didn’t usually go this far seeing as of course, bugs, but also the fact that it’s further than the park by the convenience store. How can everyone have seen it but you? These are your emotions after all. Your heart potentially on the line.

You don't know when you start missing his closeness - always standing by your side, close enough to touch, but not quite. The evenings spent dutifully walking you home, having him on speaker phone as you change - while you shimmy out of your school skirt, no longer feeling odd about the ignorant intimacy you feel.

That close, quiet conversation at night, whether it be verbal or written (if he’s on shift). Where you know about everything and nothing, including his debilitating crush from his previous school he still thinks about and your barren relationship history as well as your softest niggling fears from it.

When sharing his spoils of tardiness stops feeling funny. Or how easy it is to fall into step with him and tell him about your day - listen to him do the same with growing softness and light that his eyes bare.

Laughing because he is and feeling like you’re breathing in a whole new life every time. Knowing his music inside and out; that his songs are the same as your stories. Another language to some, his truth to you. Appreciating every note because they were all supposed to be called Younghyun.

Describing Younghyun as Youth. Endless laughter, sunshine smiles, moonlit hums, the thrill of summer.

You must not look very approachable as your walk your baby blue bike to your favourite bench. Aimed facing the river, right by the bridge, the Seoul city lights a twinkling cluster of vitality. A mix between a pout and a scowl resting on your face, you’re almost stomping along the pathway with shoulders of stone. You’re even more disheartened and emotionally charged when you see a lanky shape meeting you halfway. Wandering aimlessly, with his pale hands stuffed in his pockets, dark thick fringe hovering over his brows. Even you have to admit though - he does look good in green.

“Donghae.”

“Donghae.”

He looks up to shift his focus better, smiling a little as he says your name in greeting. “It’s really late. What are you doing out?”

“I could ask you the same.” You retort, with cautious side eye.

“But I asked first.”

You shrug, slumping a little on your hip. “I just needed some space to think.”

You plant yourself next to him after propping your bike against a tree. Looking at him in the dim light makes you a little uncomfortable. How his elbows rest on his knees and all his limbs reminding you of a praying mantis. His fluffy, windblown fringe evens out his sharp visage though, as do his patient doe eyes - nothing like the overbearing gleam to them by day - sorry, by Somi.

“Ah, I see.” He says nodding sagely. “Something on your mind?”

You shoot him a glare. What hasn’t been on your mind today? “Since when are you my therapist?”

“Since, you’re my dear Somi’s friend. Besides, you’re never this worried - it makes me nervous. I promise I’ll listen well.”

You eye him wearily, the silence stretching between you. He waits steadily and you think you’ve never seen him so quiet or still. Finally, you relent, knowing that if you didn’t he’d still wait - one thing you could give him was persistence. Anyway, what’s wrong with an outside opinion? You try as best as you can to make your story vague, leaving out identifying details.

The more you talk, the more you’re able to put together your thoughts and fears. Details start to slip with passion.

You squeeze your eyes shut. “I’m afraid of what he’ll say - what it will mean for our friendship. It’s so fresh and important to me. We worked really hard on understanding and discovering each other to get to where we are. I don’t want to lose him.”

“There’s every chance you might lose him, whether you say something or not. Say something and it’ll either be happy ending or broken hearts. Scare him off to the hills and make it even harder to get back to where you both are now. A few words can change everything. But,” he holds your gaze, doe eyes gone and replaced with something far deeper and harder to describe, “say nothing and you may lose him to someone else without knowing how he felt. I’ve learnt that the unrequited, unknown heartache can be the worst of all. You won’t know Brian - uh, Young K’s thoughts unless you ask.”

“I guess Donghae - hey, how -”

“Everyone knows, isn’t that what you said?” He crips with a smirk on his full mouth.

You scowl and turn away from him. You feel the wood creak under you as he leans back, peering up at the sky, the city lights polluting the stars to invisibility. Only the waning moon is left.

“I know this stuff - why else do you think I confess to Somi? So I know I don’t have regrets.”

“But why so often?”

You glance at him, barely, trying to be discreet about your curiosity. His mouth pulls at a hazy smile, a pleasant sight on Donghae’s usually animated features. His head lolls to face you.

“So I always know how she’s feeling. Sounds silly to you because you’re her friend. She’ll always tell you her emotions. The same can’t be said for myself. And sure, right now there is no affection - it may never happen. Things change, though. I can hope.” The wistful tone to his voice is heartbreaking, a feeling you never thought you would have for the boy. “You don’t have to. But what have you really got to lose? Regret?”

You put a hand on his arm and draw him fully out of his thoughts. His lashes are startingly long as they flutter you into focus. A car beeps across the bridge and the river still ripples quietly. The wind, while getting warmer, still rips through you.

“Thanks Donghae. I do hope you’ll find someone who will love you.” You say gently, only broken by a shiver - leaving the house in your skirt and thin shirt was a bad idea.

“Me too. You’re cold.” He unzips his jacket, throwing it into your lap. “Put this on and I’ll walk you home. It’s late.”

You’re halfway back when you ask, “so, why were you out so late, Donghae?”

“To think about Somi. A little time to be wishful, a little time to be sad. At least before I got back to life and my quest to gain her heart!” He throws his fist in the air, something like an anime character.

You want to laugh - really, you do. But you can’t bring yourself to from the way your heart pulls for Donghae’s passionate love endeavour. Time for Somi. You screw your nose up to stem the sting in your eyes.

“O-of course.” You manage to choke out, trying to fall back into the same sarcastic, protective snarl from before. You can’t though so you add, “pro-tip - try being sincere - you don’t need to show off for her.”

He stares at you owlishly, trundling your bike for you on the roadside as you look away so he doesn’t catch the emotion in your eyes.

You thank him greatly for walking you back and insistently shove the jacket back into his hands. With a smirk and a firm good luck, you see him off. It’s not until his figure wanders to the bottom of the hill that you let your bright visage crumble for him, swiping roughly at the tear or two that escapes.

Donghae is right. Better to confess and not regret than pine and wonder and wait until it’s too late, being forced to let him go.

feel korea fanacc 2017 (exid biased)

this is going to be a very detailed fanacc of the full day, including the bad events which took place before the concert

first off let me say that kpop fans are honestly such lovely people. i came across a few bad eggs during the day but overall everyone was amazing. i arrived earlier than my friend and i made friends so quickly with the people who were in front of me in the queue, and i ended up spending the whole concert with them

secondly let me say that the organisation of this concert was an absolute joke, specifically the queueing. it was terrible, the worst organisation i’ve seen in a long time. they originally had one queue for everything, then created a ‘concert’ queue and made people move, then when the daytime event queue had died down we got moved back to where we originally were - except there was no guidance. everyone just ran for it. people at the front ended up at the back and people who’d just arrived got to the front. there was also a severe problem of people pushing in at the front - there was no barrier to block it and when we complained the security didn’t even try to do anything about it. 

i got to the venue at around 12:15, joined the only queue there was, was then moved to the ‘concert’ queue at around 12:45, was very near the front and managed to stay in basically the same place when we got moved back to our original line. then waited for about 6 hours, filled with events such as, as ive mentioned, people pushing in at the front and pretending they were there the whole time, the barrier being widened to such a degree at the front that there was no order at all

then came the worse part. we were lining up around the back of the building, and they wanted to move us to the front doors. so they stood back, and told us to go. everyone ran, again. i got pushed into walls and an open door, girls were falling over or hurting themselves on the barriers as everyone tried to get through. we had been asking them throughout the day how they were planning to get us in - we suggested sending us in groups of 10 or 20, or just making sure we all got to the doors one at a time. instead there was hundreds of people running to the doors, filling up the street because there was no barrier there to meet us. again, i managed to keep my place, pretty much, but a lot of people lost theirs, including girls at the front who had been there since 6am to queue. then despite the street being full of fans, they then told us to get in single file. which was fucking stupid because it wasnt possible. not unless they moved everyone forward enough, past the doors, to make enough room to move everyone against the wall, or move people backwards from the back of the queue, which literally went around the whole block. we eventually got in by them just giving up and letting us in one at a time with as little pushing as possible

but anyway, thats enough of that, although i will be complaining officially online lmao

okay the actual concert. by some miracle, i just got to the barrier, i got the last space. but myself and a couple of girls to my left were in the worst place to be at the barrier - in front of us was a camera man officially recording for the tv screen above, so during the concert idols would often be blocked by the camera which will be shown in my exid fancams lmao. but hey, i was at the barrier, i can’t complain. the distance from the barrier to the stage was about 10 feet i think, it was pretty large tbh so im rly glad i got to be there. we also got given water by very nice security thank u security

they were showing mvs for about an hour while we waited. if you were there, the first scream @ jeonghwa’s appearance in any mv was always me jsyk dklfjhdskj

when the concert started, there was a taekwondo performance which was a m a z i n g, they were breaking wood with their feet and at one point i was scared the broken wood would hit me lmao

after that, hani came on mc’ing, along with two other guys who i don’t know. the moment she appeared i Died. she was wearing such a pretty white dress, shes so angelic and cute and beautiful. she came out to mc after every performance, except it was just the guys when exid was about to perform. she spoke about going to see the disadvantaged kids yesterday and one of the guys was like “hanis not just beautiful, she has a beautiful heart” and hani said “the most beautiful is everyone here!” jdksa shes honestly a Dream

knk was first to perform, then snuper, then exid, then highlight. i’m not gonna pretend i was really there to see anyone but exid, because i wasn’t. but i did hearts to all the idols and i really enjoyed all their performances. knk sang knock first which is the only song i like by them so to hear it was so great. they’re such good dancers and they’re all very pretty

after knk, hani and the guys introduced a “special performance because london has gone through some hardships recently”. it was hyerin singing “you raise me up” and it was so beautiful i would have cried if i weren’t so focused on filming haha

then it was snuper’s turn to perform. i only know platonic love, so i enjoyed that, but i was pretty clueless about the rest of the songs. i still liked it tho. during one of their songs they brought a fan on stage to sing to her and also threw roses to the crowd. according to my friend who was a bit further back one of the members aimed one at her but a girl in front of her caught it lol. one of the members was so funny idk his name but fans threw a signed uk flag at the stage and he put it on like a cape and he came over to our section loads. hes my bias now but who is he

after that (i think??), knk came back on to perform a cover of an ed sheeran song which i don’t know the name of. everyone sang with them and it was rly Nice

then my girls!!! arrived and i screamed So Loud it was too much. they’re all so beautiful, but u kno i love my girl jeonghwa and omg... pictures and videos dont do her justice at all shes honestly Ethereal i went into shock and i almost teared up. i saw a girl so beautiful i started crying???

they started with hot pink and i could kinda feel how empty it was without solji but it was still amazing to see the four of them. then they moved onto night rather than day, then ah yeah, then finally up and down. i was trying So Hard to get interaction, i made eye contact with jeonghwa a few times and every time i was givin her hearts... she just kinda glanced over me tho.... its ok i still love u

the girl next to me got So much interaction, from l.e especially. she had a homemade exid fan sign and l.e seemed to love it haha. i probably should have made something too

exid’s performance seemed to go so quickly, i filmed most of their songs and some of their talk. i haven’t even watched the videos yet i’m gonna die

after exid, there was a performance with snuper and a group of girl dancers who i think won a competition during the day? they did dance covers of a few bts songs

then highlight came on and performed two of their new songs, before two of their old ones. i rly enjoyed the old ones, the new ones... they were okay but i liked being reminded of their old image as beast. i think this was when one of them motioned for us to clap, i was one of the first to start so he looked at me was he was walking our way and nodded at me which was cool lol. i think it was highlight anyway.... and i think it was that time... honestly the boy groups... kinda mushed together for me i could even begin to tell you which member it was. i made eye contact with a few guys of the various groups so i cant rly remember specifically

during highlights performance this annoying girl came up behind me and was literally pushing against me, trying to move my hair, touching my arms and back before eventually asking if i could move over. i did, but i later found out that the girl had literally somehow managed to get to the barrier from the back. she was rude as hell. also there was fireworks during the performance which scared the crap out of me i was like that compilation vid of chanyeol

after highlight, there was an encore where all the groups came out and threw balls and balloons. knk was in front of our section and exid were next to them more towards the middle. i feel bad for saying it but i ... rly wanted exid in front of me lmao. i did hearts towards them and here is where i might have got interaction from hani but im not sure???? she looked in my direction as i was looking at her and making a heart with my hands and she grinned and did a thumbs up but im not sure it was at me it might have been someone near me. i like to think it was at me tho. people around me got a lot of interaction with different idols but i didnt?? thats going back to diy stuff tho, ppl around me had created signs and written messages on paper and stuff so i guess thats where that came from. i rly would have done something too for exid but i didnt think id be that close, never mind at the barrier so i didn’t see much point

there was also confetti flying from a machine right in front of me and i accidentally dropped my exid fan sign i was given in the queue over the barrier so i caught confetti in my bag to take home instead lol. the annoying girl was still there and still annoying, she threw something at knk she’d made and one of the members got it and she started screaming and crying and yelling i love u which i wouldnt mind but... after the way she was so rude to me (and as i found out later, other ppl) nah why does she deserve that lmao. she also ended up getting a ball since security came over with two that had dropped and she said the yellow was hers... it wasnt she even asked me who signed it lmao

overall it was a really good concert and i cant wait to watch the videos back. it had ups and downs but despite having to miss london pride for it i dont regret going. i got to meet some great people and ofc i got to see my Special Girls in the flesh... they said they’d come back soon i hope so. ive drunk so much water tonight and im about to go and drink more also i can’t walk

Rather this is the real deal or simply a PR move on behalf of DK herself, N and D are together.
