Which snacks do the trio sneak into the movie theater? And how smoothly or not smoothly does that go?

v sneaks in a fuckton of m&ms. girl loves her m&ms,and she gets them in by duct-taping them to usnavi bc he’s a skinny dude whowears baggy shirts so you can get like two or three bags of candy on him and hejust looks like he’s carrying a lil bit of tummy.

usnavi sneaks taquitos in in every single one of his pocketsand suffers nobly through vanessa and ruben making constant “is that a taquitoin your pocket or are you just happy to see us” comments. at least half the time he forgetsthe one in his back pocket before he sits down and has to walk home with hisshirt tied round his waist to hide it because frankly it just looks Bad.

ruben, lil rich boy that he is, buys his popcorn and drinkat the movie theatre, and begs the other two to just let him cover theirsnacks, he really doesn’t mind, it’s his treat and it will save him the intensestress of watching usnavi try to very cautiously walk past the usher withoutrustling or smelling like a taquito.  theother two refuse because illegal snacks are a VITAL PART of the movieexperience and ruben’s missing out on the best bit, and vanessa keeps sayingthings like “i thought you were more of a rebel than that, ruben, i know youcan break rules, where’s that spirit of scientific adventure” so he finallyagrees to sneaking in a small bag of doritos under usnavi’s hat, andreluctantly has to admit that illicit hat doritos taste so much better becauseof the Thrill of Deception

this requires a lot more knowledge of the difference between california food and new york food than a lil british girl like me has. honestly i actually feel like she looks in the rental car, sees how many empty candy wrappers and chip packets usnavi’s been accumulating in the footwell of the passenger seat and the first thing she makes him eat is an apple. its not particularly californian but “i ain’t nursin’ you through scurvy, eat a damn fruit”

“i already ate fruit!” he protests

So I read the tags on reblogs. :) That photo set of Lin-Manuel and Hugh Laurie is from a show called House MD. It's on Netflix in the US but I see you live in Canada. There are three episodes that Lin is in. (And honestly they're the only episodes I've watched :) ). Season 6 episodes 1 and 2 and then he appears again in episode 21. He is adorable as this character, a patient of a mental health hospital who doesn't like to take his meds. I hope you're able to find a way to watch!!

18.  Favorite beverage?

Coffee, whole milk, very sweet, little bit of cinnamon. I love to imagine Vanessa likes tea as well, though, and drinks coffee only with family or with Usnavi.

22. Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?

Honestly? I don’t see either of them as creative at all. Usnavi would probably jot down a list of things to buy or to get done, Vanessa would MAYBE doodle a little but generally I don’t see them as creative people. 

35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?

God this is hard to say. I think probably watching TV would be Usnavi’s guilty pleasure, in the musical he chides Sonny about watching way too much TV but I can see him having like, Netflix marathons and afterwards feeling so guilty he was idle for so long, he cleans up the entire apartment or fixes everything he’d been slacking on, etc. As for Vanessa, everything she enjoys is not a waste of time so there is nothing that fits this. 

44. Religion?

I see Usnavi as a quite devout Christian, probably Catholic. As for Vanessa, I think maybe she was raised the same, but I don’t imagine that she is very involved with religion. I can imagine Usnavi going to mass quite regularly (with Carla? but Carla is not Catholic), but Vanessa pretty much never, or maybe Christmas/Easter if she has someone to remind her to go. So yeah, generally, I believe Usnavi is way more religious than her and has assimilated it a lot more in his life too, probably due to living with Abuela Claudia for so long.
