This is my baldie check in… I haven’t posted a bald picture of myself in a while so yes all that fabulous hair you see in my stories are gorgeous wigs. I’m not going to lie, being bald can be a serious pain in the ass, (especially when I wear wigs in this heat) but on the plus side I can always take it off when it’s bothering me. Another plus is I can get it washed, styled and ready to go and I don’t even have to be there for it!! Always look for the positive in things. Mulher com alopecia que dormia de peruca finalmente sai sem ela

Uma mulher de 25 anos que perdeu todo o cabelo aos 17 abandonou a peruca. Jess Newman, da Inglaterra, começou a perder alguns fios de cabelo aos 15 anos devido a uma condição chamada alopecia, mas os médicos na época creditaram o fenômeno à puberdade.

No entanto, aos 16 anos, após encontrar com o pai que ela não via desde bebê, seus cabelos começaram a cair em montes, a deixando quase totalmente careca no ano seguinte. Isso porque a alopecia é uma doença auto-imune que tem o stress como um dos gatilhos.

Jess ficou com tanta vergonha da sua aparência que não conseguia olhar para si mesma sem peruca, até mesmo dormindo com o acessório. “Mesmo que eu estivesse de peruca, usava uma boina para sair porque eu achava que todos estavam olhando para mim e sabiam que era uma peruca”, diz.

Na faculdade, ela parou de sair e até mesmo de ir a algumas aulas, pela vergonha de que perceberiam, apesar de ela usar sempre a mesma peruca loira e comprida, para que acreditassem que era sempre o cabelo dela. Ela também tatuou as sobrancelhas para que ninguém soubesse de sua condição.

Somente durante a pandemia e sem sair de casa, Jess teve coragem de postar uma foto de si mesma sem a peruca no seu Instagram. Ela recebeu um grande apoio nas redes sociais e até relatos de outras garotas com alopecia que viram nela uma inspiração.

Em agosto, a instituição Alopecia UK a convidou para um desafio: sair sem peruca 15 vezes e postar em suas redes sociais, para trazer conhecimento à doença. Até agora, seus posts já conseguiram arrecadar mais de mil libras em doações para a instituição.

Sua nova confiança a encorajou a experimentar mais com a moda e maquiagem também e ela até mesmo está tentando uma carreira como modelo. “Eu estou numa jornada e não sei se vou abandonar a peruca para sempre mas estou orgulhosa de mim mesma por finalmente acreditar que uma mulher careca pode ser linda!”, diz.
