#alocasia platinum

I could not leave Home Depot without this Alocasia Bisma Platinum. I keep checking for some Odora Batiks as I see people posting them from their HD's. I didn't find one of those but I found this big one! I don't see any corms off the bat like I did with my last addition, but there are two well established plants and a few actual pups that could be split off.

I'm going to let it acclimate to its new environment first before reporting it and my Green Unicorn. Fingers crossed there are some corms in this one too! I'm really enjoying the process of growing them, even with the intent to sell. In the beginning of the season there are more Alocasias in the stores and nurseries but I noticed as the season goes on the dwindle around where I live. I think it'd be nice to have them more available for the plant community here. It's also easier to ship small plants than large established ones.

A very stupid tradename but otherwise a pretty neat and easy going Alocasia. What sets them apart from similar looking Alo like Platinum/Bisma, Reginae, Silver dragon etc. are the super freckled stems and inflorescence and the pretty, pinkish red abaxials.
