I played the Monster Hunter Wilds Demo :D
The game defentitley takes more after world than rise. The seikret does most things like jumping climbing gliding automatic (I thought it would be fun to do the gliding and such controlled) so some routes are a bit railroaded or "cinematic". I also skipped a bunch of cutscenes because I didn't stand in line 2 hours to watch some videos, I mostly just wanted to try out the HH. UI was a bit boring tbh, not a fan of the new health bar.
Hunting Horn: based on the world hh, rise horn was fun but I get that it was too drastic of a change. I didn't get the hang of the new special moves in the short time (and I couldn't find the tutorials for new attacks again) but playing the horn with world muscle memory was effective enough. The recital and encore feel quicker and more useful as offensive moves, I still feel a bit locked in or not in control, honestly in world between camera to player position and recital spinning you in all sorts of directions I was only really 30% of the time sure what would happen when i hit the encore button, wilds has it a bit more streamlined. The counter or focus attack gives you an opportunity to punch in five notes quickly if timed correct.
All in all demo was fun )and I'm glad I actually had a game to look forward to at gamescom, I mostly just use it to meet my friends irl). I'm sure I'll get the hang of the new horn with the public demo and looking forward to try out lance.
The Seikret statue at the capcom stand looked really nice^^
