#latergrammmmzzz finally took the old tires off & put new shoes on the bike, so getting a lil #daytrippin in seemed like the perfect way to break 'em in! so i rode down to missouri through the illest dense morning fog #outcheas, which gave way to a pretty dope #sunriseovercornfields, to check out the eclipse #veryrare, then #strugglehiked up a mountain #didyouknowthereweremountainsinmissouri #okthiswasreallymorelikeabighillbutheycallitamountainsoimmacallitamountain...met some cool folk along the way, without whom i would probably not made it to the 'summit' #themidwestisntasflatasthought, and got there just in time to experience the eclipse in totality from the top of a mountain and manage to click off a few frames on my camera right at the end of totality...#muchAWE! then rode back up near the stl to get grub (apparently square pizza is the move there) before heading back to chicagoland. somehow managed to avoid rush hour traffic around st. louis, only to run right into traffic heading back upstate in illinois on two lane roads (#sidebar more people should get acquainted with the concepts of the left lane being only for passing, passing in a timely fashion, and then returning to the right lane...#beautifullyefficient when executed) which enabled a pretty good length thunderstorm to pull up and soak the kid #ridingintherainisfun but stop & go traffic circumstances, rain, and bike on new tires don't mix and as such a serendipitously close motel had to be the move for the night #amostfortunatesituation! with a little over 600 miles ridden and being quite soaked (had a change of close), some hot food was in order, but all the nearest restaurants had just closed for the evening #misseditbythatmuch...which meant whippin' up that gas station value meal of an unidentifiable processed meat sammich, chips, sugary drink, and candy of the gummi variety #championstyle...slept on top on of the covers on a bed/mattress stiffer than the ground it was situated on, watching south park reruns till the early morn...#ALLTOTALLYWORTHIT! #toouchfreetimegang...#unemployedchronicles
