AAAAAAND WERE BACK with more Subway to Stardew silliness NSNNDD.
Thank you to the folks over at @subwaytostardew for making this wonderful mod and letting me make silly art about it lol.
In any case time for some headcannon nonsense.
(click for better quality because Tumblr makes it crunchy)
If Stardew Valley were to have a box legendary I think it would be Cresselia. It's literally Lunar pokemon and represents the crescent moon so it being the patron legendary of Stardew Valley just makes a lot of sense to me. Also Cresselia is underrated NSNDN.
Maybe there would be a secret special encounter for Darkrai. (the other half of it and Cresselia's duo but is a mythical for some reason?)
Also the Lunar wing would be very neat item to have in-game ANSNDND.
If it were to exist within the mod I imagine the farmer would be like "oooo shiny feather. Maybe it's a pokemon feather? Emmet/Ingo would probably like it :D" so then they make it into a necklace, or maybe just give it to one of them outright without knowing what it is. So Emmet/Ingo sees it and just starts freaking the hell out cause their crush/friend just gave them a piece of a literal legendary pokemon meanwhile the farmer is just....clueless NSNDND.
Now onto some of the other characters.
As basically the resident nurse joy of Pelican Town I think Harvey would have some pokemon common in the medical field. Though, pokemon like Chansey and Audino don't really fit his whole "whiskey neat, coffee black, bed at three"/ref vibes so I thought Indeedee would be best NSNDNND.
I also decided to give some pokemon to the characters mentioned within my ask.
Willy is very fond of water types, clearly NSNS. Specifically fish pokemon like Lanturn, Seaking, Whiscash, Wishiwashi, or Dondozo. (Though his actual team probably has a good chunk of pokemon that are still water type just not fish lmao) The crowning jewel of his collection is a shiny Magikarp he fished up. Maybe one day it will evolve, but for now it just swims around the docks next to his house entertaining anyone that visits.
He also has a Bibarel. (which I imagine is the grown up version of that one Bidoof that snuck into Pelican Town) It acts more like an overgrown housecat than a battle ready pokemon but it is incredibly bulky so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Morris also has a few pokemon of his own. Most of which he keeps at home. But his main two he's seen with is a Gimmighoul and a Gumshoos. (IDK he just has Gumshoos vibes to me NSNDNND) They run around Joja pickpocketing people's gold cause Morris is just a dick like that.
"It's Wizard time mother fucker, FIREBALL-"/ref
Wizard likes psychic types, but I like to think he also has a fondness for fairy types too. Also, most of em has at least one strong fire type move just so he has an excuse to yell "fireball" and blast something NSND. His Malamar is named Illithid (a wack squid monster guy from DnD lol)
Sandy likes rock types, given that she lives in a desert it's probably the only type of pokemon she sees on the daily lol. She also has a key stone on her earring. With how colorful a keystone is when compared to sand I think she would be the most likely to find one there. Idk exactly if she'd mega evolve an Aerodactyl or a Tyranitar, if any pokemon at all. But I think she'd carry it around regardless. It's pretty :]
Also she has a shiny Rockruff. I don't rly have an explanation for that one I think it just fits the vibe lol.
And now, shenanigans.
Emmet then proceeds to grab the child and just.... speed walk away HSBBDBDJJR.
That's all I have for now, I'll probably throw some other pokemon at the bachelorettes and other bachelors another time but this alone took a solid week due to finals 😭/lh
Time for me to go to bed lol, have a good one 👍

Hiiiiiii
If it’s not too much trouble, could you do a platonic team star x team star member!reader who became a dragon type specialist squad leader and joined because they got bullied for being a fan of other famous dragon type users like Lance and Raihan?
(Sorry if this is too specific)
Oh no worries, I like specific so it's all good!
..........
"I'm gonna be just like them one day.." Sighing dreamily, you sat down at the cafeteria table, watching a video on your rotomphone while chowing down breakfast.
It was footage of a fierce Pokémon battle in Galar--a showdown between two of your idols, who were among the most famous dragon trainers of all time: Lance and Raihan.
Of course, you looked up to many other dragon type users in Paldea, but these two in particular kickstarted your dreams of becoming one yourself, inspired by their interviews and fierce determination.
You also hoped to meet them and have a battle, although that was a little too farfetched for you right now..
Yet you didn't let that discourage you from forming your own dragon team, using your studies at Uva/Naranja Academy to teach them all the best moves and remember type matchups.
Tatsugiri was your main partner, and when combined with your Dondozo..it was an absolute powerhouse in double-battles--albeit this academy usually focused on the traditional single battles.
You were also currently raising a Drakalok, Cyclizar, Arctibax, and Sliggoo, and you cherished all of them dearly. Tatsugiri was a bit of an attention hog at times, though, and always wanted to stay out of its ball and on your shoulder.
You didn't mind it, of course. Whether you're heading to class or to a tournament where dragon trainers were going to participate, you always went together.
Life was perfect.
Except for-
"Still prattling on about being the next famous dragon gym leader, huh?"
-one of your bullies already ruining your day before it could even begin.
For some reason..a few kids at the academy really had it out for you simply because you admired famous dragon trainers. You didn't think there was anything wrong with looking up to your idols. But apparently they thought you were being too "obnoxious" about it and sought to make your life utterly miserable.
It only got worse when you spoke up about it to a teacher, as that bully got off with nothing but a slap on the wrist--that being to train their Pokémon as "punishment".
By sheer convenience, they had ice and fairy types. And that teacher only gave them the chance to make their team stronger and further intimidate you...to the point where you're afraid to go outside, fearing they'll drag you into a battle.
You've kept silent since, hoping to avoid them at all costs and try to keep your grades up. But unfortunately, Arceus wasn't smiling upon you today...and quite frankly, you were tired.
Huffing, you switched off your phone and scowled up at the bully. "Still following me around campus, huh?" You mocked, with Tatsugiri hopping on the table and mimicking your expression. "That's kinda creepy if you ask me."
"Well those stupid fangs of yours are creeping everyone out." They sneered, pointing out your sharp teeth. "Halloween is over, y'know."
"I've already told you..these are canines, and they are real."
"Yeah? More like real freaky."
"Look, just leave me alone before you anger Tatsugiri." You warned, watching as their gaze shifted to your ace, falling silent for a moment or two...
Before erupting into laughter. "Oh wow, I'm soooooo scared of your stupid sushi roll! What ever will I do??" They shook their head. "If you want my advice, dump this thing and get yourself a real dragon. Like a Charizard or-"
"You don't get to decide WHO I can have as a partner!!!" Your hands slammed onto the table as you stood up, fists clenched with anger. Even though you could see people's heads turning in your peripheral vision, you didn't care. "Tatsugiri may not look it, but it's more powerful than you'll ever know! You don't know our bond, so just back off already!!"
"Oooooh, I didn't know you knew Outrage..better not hit yourself in confusion." They snickered.
"...why are you like this?" With slumped shoulders, you frowned at them. "Why do you keep tormenting me day after day?! I've done nothing to you. Is it a crime to admire my heroes? To wanna be like them?"
"No, but you'd be an embarrassment to every future dragon tamer. I mean who'd wanna see a pathetic thing like that in the Elite Four? Or on a Champion's team? Raihan and Lance would laugh in your face and crush you if they saw-"
"STOP IT!!" You finally snapped, hitting the table again before taking out one of your pokeballs. "Do you want a battle?! Is that what you want?!! Then you'll get it-!!"
"[Y/n], what is the meaning of this?"
Hearing the voice of the director made all the color drain from your face. The bully just smirked as you slowly turned to Harrington, seeing him looking at you with a frown.
"This is the second disturbance you've caused in this same area. You know battles aren't permitted inside the academy."
It's only then did you realize everybody in the cafeteria was staring..and you shrunk back in embarrassment. "I-I'm sorry, Director. I didn't mean to shout. They were just-"
But when you tried to point out the bully, they were gone.
How convenient.
"From how it looks..you were intimidating them. And you should also know we have a zero tolerance policy for such behavior."
"But I wasn't..they-!" You tried in vain to defend yourself, yet the look on Harrington's face told you he didn't wanna hear any of it.
"We can discuss this further in my office. Return your Tatsugiri to its pokeball and follow me, if you will."
"....yes, sir." Defeated, you gathered your things and put Tatsugiri back into the pokeball (much to its dismay), before commencing the long walk of shame to the director's office.
Maybe he will believe you.
.......
"He didn't believe me either. What's the point of "standing up for myself" if I'm just gonna get in trouble?! What's the point if they're always gonna get away with it while I face suspension?!"
"Suu.."
"I know I kinda let myself go back there, but...th-they kept pushing me and pushing me! Why couldn't he understand that? Why doesn't anyone here understand-?!"
"Tasu!"
Calming yourself down a little, you looked to Tatsugiri, who sat on your bed and looked up at you with sad eyes, wishing you weren't being so harsh on yourself.
"....well, I know you understand me, buddy." You quietly sighed and sat down, bringing it into your hands as it nuzzled your cheek. Immediately your shoulders relaxed. "I'm sorry. Thank you. I'm just...it's been frustrating. But I swear I'll never replace you for any other dragon. Not even for a shiny Charizard."
"Yip-yip?!" It cried out.
"Believe me! I won't." You chuckled, although you stopped as you thought over this morning's events...
And suddenly you felt sick to your stomach.
Just thinking about going to your afternoon class today made you feel ill, wondering who was going to harass you two next...and if you'll be able to do anything about it without getting into trouble with the director.
Now that you've gotten your second strike, you had to be careful not to lash out like that again.
But what else were you supposed to do?
Let them continue to bully you around and make your poor partner feel absolutely worthless? How was that fair to either of you?
At this point, you've ran out of adults in this academy to talk to...besides the nurse, of course, although she seemed more adept at healing Pokémon than counseling students.
Even if she was willing to listen, you doubt anything would change.
Nobody here took your side or could possibly understand what you were going through-
"Roto-to-to~"
Your rotomphone started ringing, displaying an unknown caller ID. Normally you'd ignore it, although Tatsugiri had a better idea and decided to slap the screen with its fin, answering it.
"Tatsu!" You grumbled, pulling it away from your phone before addressing the stranger, feeling embarrassed. "Sorry! My Pokémon-"
"Greetings, am I speaking to [y/n]?"
".....uh...yeah?" Your eyebrows furrowed with confusion, not expecting to hear a distorted voice on the other end of the line. "And who am I speaking to exactly?"
"My name is Cassiopeia. Leader of Team Star."
"Team Star?" You blinked, remembering all of the rumors you've heard about this organization. They were a small group of kids who got bad grades, skipped school often...and sometimes harassed others into joining them or pulled pranks on teachers.
Why would their leader contact you?
Or better yet...how did they even get ahold of your number?
"Correct. We've been watching you for some time, and we see your pain. It must feel awful...being pushed around and intimidated all because you admire some famous trainers. And when you finally have the courage to defend yourself and your Pokémon...suddenly you're the bad guy? It's so unfair."
"How do you.....l-look, um..Cassiopeia. I got a lot going on right now." You mumbled, hoping to end this conversation quickly. "I'm facing suspension if I cause one more scene, so I don't think I should be talking to delinquents like-"
"That is a lie. Team Star isn't a group of delinquents. We're so much more than that." They interrupted you, sounding a bit annoyed. "The truth is that WE are the victims. We who were shamed and excluded for the crime of being ourselves. The system has failed us, [y/n], and we formed this group as a way to stand up and stand out."
"...ah, I see." Now you were growing a bit more understanding and sympathetic towards them. You always had a feeling that your classmates overexaggerated how "evil" this team really was, making comparisons to Team Rocket and organizations that were legitimately evil and criminal.
But obviously, you never put your two cents in. You were already getting bullied enough just for saying Lance and Raihan are cool dragon trainers you wished to meet.
You were already getting bullied enough just for admiring some famous dragon trainers.
"So...obviously you're trying to sell me something." You huffed, kicking your feet up on the desk. "You want me to join your team as one of your goons-?"
"Oh no. I actually have something much better in mind." Cassiopeia cut in once more. "We've seen how you battle with dragon types. Very impressive, I must say. You never back down from a challenge. You're fierce, protective..and you demonstrate incredible leadership."
That felt flattering to hear, considering all the times you've gotten criticized for your battling techniques during Ms. Dendra's class.
Recently, she actually made you apologize to your classmate, whose Pokémon was actively bullying yours and provoked it into using a powerful move that knocked it out in one hit.
Why was that such a problem?
Because you weren't supposed to be battling, but the bully kept pushing you into one--and of course, Ms. Dendra didn't see that part.
Only the part where you broke the "No-OHKO" rule she had written into her lesson plan for that day.
Now you were struggling to get your grades back up in battle strategies, which was hard since you gained a reputation as being "too aggressive"..when in reality you were just so afraid and fed up that no one would listen to you.
So hearing this complete stranger give you praise felt genuinely good.
"Oh! Ah...thank you." You decided to bite the bullet. "So what's your offer?"
"We believe you're a good fit to be a squad leader. We have one more slot available. Interested?"
Your heart immediately jumped at the opportunity, although part of you was still holding back.....wondering if it was worth getting mixed-up with people like Cassiopeia and Team Star's revered leaders.
This could very well throw away your entire future and your goals of becoming the next dragon type gym leader. You could be expelled for sure, or even blacklisted from partaking in tournaments.
But at the same time, you were so tired of living in fear and dealing with all of this alone.
Why should you have to? That's setting a terrible example for your Pokémon--they shouldn't have to see their trainer living like that. You had to be brave and stronger, but that was almost impossible if you were just going to suffer repercussions for trying.
Cassiopeia took your silence as hesitation. "I know this is a lot to think about. But trust me, [y/n]. Team Star can do more for you than the Academy ever did. You'll get to train without limits. Your name will be known by all, and nobody will mock you or Tatsugiri ever again. That is what you want, isn't it? To grow stronger together? To stand up against those who wronged you?"
Hearing them mention your partner made you look to the Mimicry Pokemon in your lap. Seeing the way they put their fin on your hand and gave you a small nod ultimately solidified your answer.
You weren't turning back now.
"We can discuss this tomorrow if you'd like-"
"No, I made up my mind. I'll take it. When do I start?"
..........
"Looking sharp as always, Revavroom."
With a sharp-toothed grin, you gently patted the head of your Starmobile--specifically the Revavroom attached to it, as it rumbled in happiness.
Then you hopped onto the vehicle, climbing up to the stage where you could survey the rest of your camp, observing your goons hanging out by the vending machines and driving around on their Cyclizars.
This was the Achird Squad base stationed at Casseroya Lake, and for about a year or so...you've also called it home.
The location was perfect for a mighty dragon leader such as yourself, allowing you to keep watch over the Tatsugiri and Dratini herds you'd see in the waters from time to time.
It was far better than the cramped dorms of the Academy. They would never have let your dragons roam free like Dragapult, Baxcalibur, and all the rest were doing right now..
Ever since joining Team Star, you never looked back and never regretted your decision. You became fast friends with the other bosses, with Atticus even designing some cool armor plates for your outfit that resembled a Kommo-o's scales.
Although things have been...rather weird as of late.
Especially since it was the anniversary of the incident.
Back at the Academy, you and all of the leaders came together with the ultimate to confront your bullies once and for all. It was meant to finally settle who was the strongest, and how you were sick of being pushed around.
Least to say..the tables have turned, and everyone knew your names.
The bullies ended up running scared, barely putting up a fight themselves before scrambling to heal and recall their Pokémon.
You felt pretty good about it, especially when you knocked out that jerk who made fun of your teeth and admiration for dragon trainers in one fell swoop.
But then you looked around and saw everyone's scared faces. Many were recording the battles, spreading them all over social media, or shielding their own Pokémon from potential harm--even though you never intended to hurt them whatsoever.
It turned into a huge scandal over who was in the right or wrong, although in the end your bullies played the victims, dropped out of school, and ended up being listened to the most.
They made you out to be monsters who just attacked them for no reason..and it almost got you all expelled.
However, Cassiopeia took the blame, and while you were pardoned, Harrington, the deputy director (who tried erasing all records of the scandal and bullying to "preserve" the Academy's image), and many teachers left, guilty that they didn't do more to prevent this.
It would have been a bittersweet victory for Team Star---had your leader not also vanished, their last message being a call for the organization to disband.
To this day, none of you understood why they'd do that...or why they think you'd ever wanna leave this team and go back to your studies.
How could you after the faculty messed up this badly?
How could you after they still sided with the bullies?
How could you after they tried to cover up what really happened?
In the end, you all promised to stick together, abiding by your codes and living out on the squad bases. You occasionally met up for discussions and battle plans, although you always held onto hope that if the team kept going long enough....Cassiopeia might come back.
You've tried contacting them through various means, yet none of your Rotoms could retrace their calls nor social media posts. Everything was gone.
As though they wanted you all to forget ever meeting them..
It never made sense to you, considering you could really use a leader back then.
But what's done is done, and you winded up assuming a de factor leader position, given your team was the strongest out of all of theirs. Of course, Ortega was less-than-pleased about holding a vote on it, but you won the majority and he eventually got over it.
Now you've been training your Pokémon more frequently, and only because there's something called "Operation: Starfall" going around--and apparently some Paldean trainer was going around tackling each base with the hope of claiming their badges.
One of the codes was that being defeated in battle meant surrendering it, and that means...
Someone was dead set on shutting down Team Star for good.
But you wouldn't let them. The other bosses were your friends, family..and you'll be damned if you lost them, too.
"Boss! The others are comin' in!" You heard one of the grunts shout, and you looked towards the horizon in surprise.
She wasn't kidding.
Ortega, Mela, Eri, Giacomo, and Atticus were at your base's entrance, waiting for you. Although you were eager to see them after being occupied with training for so long...it didn't concern you that all of them chose to show up at once.
But you refused to show any sort of alarm, huffing as you jumped off the stage, mounting your partner Cyclizar. "Let's ride!" You barked, allowing it to sprint towards the group at full speed.
Your cape fluttered in the wind as it leaped across a small stream, all while Tatsugiri--who was resting in a small basket attached to it--held on for dear life.
Upon arriving, the bosses stopped their chatter and turned as you slowed down, stepping off Cyclizar. You gave it a small pat on the head, assuring that it could rest, before looking at the group.
"So we meet again...what's with the sour faces?" Your eyebrows furrowed at their expressions. When nobody was immediately speaking up, you huffed. "Come on, out with it. You can't come all this way to my base just assume I can read your minds-"
"We come before thee bearing..a warning." Atticus muttered, bowing his head in shame. "The student you've spoken of hath proven to be quite the adversary."
"Is that so? Surely they haven't claimed all of your badges, have they?"
"........"
"Why is no one talking-?"
"Because we got our asses handed to us." Mela bluntly stated, clenching her fists. "We got absolutely smoked...and now you're the only one left."
Your eyes widened in shock and horror, although you didn't get the chance to respond as Ortega cut you off.
"Now before you freak out on us all..we did try our best. We did everything you and Cassiopeia taught us. But this kid....they're good. Almost too good. And this guy named Clive was helping them out the whole time, getting under our skin and everything...."
"Well I wouldn't say that." Eri looked at the fairy trainer, crossing her arms over her chest as she frowned. "He wanted to know where we're coming from and why we're doing all of this."
"...and you just told him?"
You could see everyone tense up, and you just scowled, wondering why they would do this.
"What makes you all think he would care...or why anybody from that academy would care about us now?" Your eyebrows furrowed as Tatsugiri sat on your shoulder, mimicking your expression. "Nobody cared when they hurt us...nobody cared when we were literally begging for help. Look, I know keeping this group together was hard, but it's no excuse to-"
"Honestly...I'm kinda tired of this charade. At least someone's willin' to listen to us now.." Giacomo remarked, frowning a little bit. "But here's the lowdown, [y/n]: we got beaten into the dirt and followed our code, so now we're here to give ya a little heads up before this kid comes after you next. We're sorry. But we tried."
"And we still don't know who's really behind this sting operation.." Mela grumbled, shaking her head in worry. "Someone wants to shut us down for good, and it's definitely not either of those new students. They're just being used to carry out the dirty work."
"I might have a good idea on who it is...and I swear, they'll answer for this." You bared your teeth. "But I'll save my dragon rage for this trainer. Wherever they are, whatever they're doing...I hope they know I'm ready. Because I'm gonna defend Team Star...defend us....until my last breath."
"Su! Su!!" Tatsugiri trilled in agreement, nuzzling your cheek, to which you couldn't help but smile a little bit.
"Well whatever happens next, you have our full support, [y/n]." Eri smiled as she patted your shoulder. "Badge or no badge, we stand behind you."
Everyone else chimed in with agreements, smiles on all of their faces as well--although Atticus' wasn't immediately noticeable, you could see it in his eyes.
Knowing this group still cared about you and believed in your battling skills made all the tension leave your shoulders.
"Thank you, my friends. Hasta la vistar ~☆"
""""Hasta la vistar, and good luck, [y/n]!! ~☆""""

….. Pokémon au…..
Detailed teams and thoughts below the read more.
These teams would be around the start of the black whale arc, i lightly mapped out which arcs they’d catch and evolve in! No deaths in this au, lesser stakes, this is pokemon. This is only the main 4 for now.
Gon’s team: lots of heavy hitting at the sake of taking damage, lots of environmentally useful moves.
Kon- Ursaluna: Main Partner. met as teddiursa with Kite as a child. With him for all of series.
Bon- wailord: caught in whale island, evolves into wailord during hunter exam. I love the concept of a small child with only massive Pokémon tbh.
Mon- Togekiss: Mito(Poke-breeder) gave him this egg to hatch and everyone finds it funny his hair matches. Probably trains and evolves with Bisky(Former Champ/Gymleader) in GI training times. Once she evolved to Togekiss they LOVE flying together.
Ja-Jan- Scizor: he caught scyther traveling with Kite and evolves it training with Knuckle, it’s cause of Knuckle that his naming pattern is different. Ja Ja Ken themed pokemon! Bisky teaches them how Mega-evolution works!
Don- Kommo-o: Instead of a video game, Ging left Gon two dragon eggs, one he kept and hatched into the battle loving Don and the other he gifted to Killua. Also evolves during GI training. They have immensely similar personalities.
Solgaleo doesnt belong to him, they're friends. Killua and Gon both help a Cosmoem/Cosmog and when fighting along side Gon it takes on this form! only see this during the parallel to the Chimera Ant arc.
I also consdered: Koraidon, Hitmonchan, Heracross, Kanto-Nintales, Pidgeotto, Eevee, dondozo, Wishiwashi, Annihilape, Dragonite, etc.
Killua's team: the Zoldyck family is notorious for their Dark and poison type trainers and protecting Kukuru Mt. a similar vibe to Aether research group.
Cocoa-Weaville: Main partner. perfect IVs, Good EVs, a classic Zoldyck match. they get better together. Her nickname is a secret between the both of them till after Gon and friends rescue him from his house.
Mallow-Crobat: Also already on his team for the Hunter Exam as a Golbat. also Family Approved. He's frustrated by its inability to evolve until he does while visiting Whale Island with Gon.
Pop Rocks- Luxray: Caught during Heavens Arena timeline and evolved fully with Bisky training. his first time choosing a pokemon for himself and having fun.
Taffy- Silvally: Given to him by his Dad as a Type:Null, but rarely used because Killua knows it hates battling and doesnt want it to hate him. the Mask removal likes up nicely with the Needle removal moment. they learn to Battle for themselves and enjoy it over time.
Bonbon- Salamence: Killua's first time hatching a pokemon egg gifted to him by Gon. shes a little defiant and stubborn, Killua blames Gon's influence. Also evolved under Bisky training. If asked why her nickname matches Gons pokemon he will tell you to stop imagining things.
Lunala is also not technically his, he also helps out the same Cosmog/Cosmoem and is blown away when it takes on this form for him while he's rescuing Alluka/Nanika and their Jirachi.
Also considered: Miraidon, Killowatrel, Hitmontop, Floragato, Morpeko, Jolteon, toxtricity, snealser, Alolan-Ninetails, etc.
Leorio's team: this man is deceptivly good at battling but no one would guess it looking at his team. He has the slowest progress in training compared to his friends but tbf he's also attending medical school. lowest effort nicknames.
Gimmi-Gimmighoul: Main Partner. here from the start but stays as a Roving form until we see Leorio again at the election arc and its in its treasure chest form! they are besties.
Pooch- Mightyena: has as a Poochyena for the Hunter exam and his main battler. Cheedle first notices Leorio because she pays extra attention to Dog pokemon and approves of how they battle together. both of these guys give bad first impressions.
Audi- Audino: also a pokemon he starts the hunter exam with but he's a little self conscious of her. Not that either of them ever hesitate to go doctor mode even if they don't match each others vibes. She knows Leorio deep down has a good heart and she refuses to tolerate his nonsense so she can be dis-agreeable until he says what he really means. Learns Mega-evolution off camera just like his nen.
Boar- Tepig: gift egg from Ging as a congrats for getting the Zodiac position after him. Leorio is trying extremely hard to live up to expectations and Boar is probably the most spoiled Pokemon by all of Leorio's team.
Lunch- Applin: in a reference to the Gon giving Leorio and apple scene in 99 anime i really wanted to put an applin on his team. probably given to him by Gon, maybe from whale island. Leorio has no idea how to train this guy, hes working on it. I'm not 100% on this one.
Xerneas- its not unusual for hunters to form bonds with legendaries if they impress them. and i think Xerneas would like Leorio's gumption and kindness. :) plus parallel for Kurapika. probably starts bonding with him around the end of the Election arc.
Kurapika's team: I wish we knew more about the Kurta language cause i think he'd name them after that. It was less a massacre and more a mass destructive event as the PT looted their remote village looking for rare and valuable pokeon, probably following the rumors of a psudo-legendary doomsaying pokemon.
Nemesis-Absol: Main Partner. They both feel responsibly for the attack and seek both vengeance and the return of any pokemon taken. She is just as driven and determined as he is. they learn to mega-evolve while training with Mizuken pre York New.
Prometheus-Blaziken: caught as a torchick post PT attack. insp by the ride-able birds in the Memory comics! the second most dedicated and determined on the team along side Nemesis. loves training. pressent for Hunters exam.
Aion-Metagross: caught and trained with a matching beldum alongside Pairo. Sheila helped them catch them! too bad Pairo's beldum went missing in the PT attack. present for Hunters exam.
Odysea-Palafin: a pokemon Kurapika always adored and was super excited to catch. Dolphin fan boy. Heroic type the vibes are perfect.

Do you know if a Tatsugiri needs to bond with a Dondozo? Or is it fine to raise one without the other?
Good question! Tatsugiri and Dondozo are a symbiotic pair, so in the wild you'll often find them cohabitating, to the point that Tatsugiri use Dondozo's mouths as a safe place to raise their young. You'll also frequently see them paired up in battle settings, for the same strategic reasons as in the wild- Tatusgiri as the commander, Dondozo as the fighter. Captive Tatsugiri do not require a Dondozo to be happy, though! As long as they feel safe and well-provided for, Tatsugiri will be perfectly happy to interact with teams without a Dondozo, or even to be a solo pokemon.
This might be a harder ask of wild-caught Tatsugiri than ones born in human care, as they will be expecting something big and strong they can rely on to protect and provide for them. What you'll need to do is prove that the big and strong thing is you! Tatsugiri are extremely smart, one of the smartest dragon-types out there- and they're incredible judges of intent. You can't just win them over with regular feeding times and enrichment, these little guys know you're smarter than their usual partners and they will test you. Don't take it personally- they want to know that you're reliable enough to protect them and smart enough to know how. They'll defy training and hide things, or hide themselves- reactions of violence and anger will naturally make them less trustworthy, but keeping calm and composed and engaging in problem-solving will help them come to respect you. A Tatsugiri that's come to view you as a friend and reliable partner will feel more like a cat pokemon than a fish- they'll feel safest near you, and while they'll still be a bit mischievous, they'll be engaging in those behaviors for fun, not malice.
As always- your mileage may vary. Pokemon are individuals, and individuals have different reactions to the same situations. Your Tatsugiri might be more fearful than the one I described- be sure to spend time in the same room, doing calm activities so it can get used to you. Your Tatsugiri might have a lot of aggression that it'll try to take out on your furniture or other pokemon- have a firm (but calm) hand and give it some battle training to prove your tactical strength. Maybe your Tatsugiri will cuddle up in your lap the second you let it out of its ball! There's no one size fits all approach, but having a good idea of species tendencies in training is never a bad thing to have.

Wait, wait--I forget you're my Pokémon Mutual™ (/lh) so I could maybe mention my Pokémon AU for Heathlock ... I base my stuff more on the games (as you probably know from our past convos), so my current AU for them is based on Scarlet/Violet andnis the only reason I'm getting through the game-- (the graphics and stuff can be a bit rough on me, unfortunately--it's because of my bad eyes ;;)
ANYWAY. I love the idea of Sherry and Heathcliff attending the academy and accidentally ending up traveling together during the self-guided adventure portion of the year ... Sherry's goal is to just catch Pokémon, while Heathcliff is ... uh ... coasting. He's only really passing home ec and I think it's cute because he ends up going with Sherry since he has nothing else to do, but she helps him catch new Pokémon and Heathcliff helps her by making sandwiches.
Sherry's team is still a WIP, but her main Pokémon is Pachirisu!! Also thinking Meowscarada since Sherlock is a master of disguise, and it has that mask ... it's a fun Pokémon, too. Heathcliff has Mightyena, of course, but he also gets a Maschiff!! And a few others I can't remember off the top of my head asdfghjkl ( <- is at work).
OH. And I know you like Ishy, so she and her friend Queequeg are in this AU, too!! I found out Dondozo's shiny is white, so my friend and I joke their goal is to find the White Dondozo (since their literatary source is Moby Dick and that was about hunting a White Whale).
Sorry--this is random but I have been thinking of playing more, after school gets out ... I miss the AU and imagining Heathcliff frantically doing the quizzes and midterms in-game asdfghjkl

'TIS I, YOUR LOCAL MUTUAL IN THE GAME WE ALL KNOW 🔥🔥 always a pleasure to see you pop here 😋 HEHEHEH HALLOOO
adorable au actually???? love how they just eventually go along with each other and providing mutual benefits to each other. that's honestly really adorable and most definitely sustainable as its a self-guided experience. wouldn't hurt to have company and help around... 🥺
IMMEDIATELY LOVED THE MEOWSCRADA REASON THAT'S SO CLEVER 😭😭 definitely the trickery type. love that. i wanted to suggest a few mons for your team maybe but all i can think about is a stoutland because pokemas steven has a sherlock inspired skin and... yes he has a stoutland as his pair HSHSHAJAAKKAAHS AND KNOWING THAT SHERRY'S BASED OFF OF SHERLOCK... I couldn't help it 😖 /lh but moving on - heath with the dog mons!!! love that! the mightyena fits so well (dare i say, looks like him too? /pos). I'd love to see the rest of the team you come up with, especially for sherry!
ANDB OUSHGFSIGS MY JAWS DROPPED THATSSO CLEVER!!! shiny dondozo being the "moby dick" figure for ishmael is so?!?! bro that's so smart 😭 i can imagine her being like... wanting to find that shiny dondozo.... looking super determined about it plss that's so. 😖 i love her... /p
heathcliff sounds like he'd struggle big time in the midterms, that's not to say he's not smart but he probably wasn't prepared ... im cheering for you best friend 😭😭😭🙏🙏
#THAT WAS A SUPER DUPER FUN READ THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!!#hoping you finish your work and duties with ease... and also recovering that hgss game 😖🙏 noticed you seem to lose it recently#hoping it finds your way again 🙏 summer vacation is upon us and we can't let the fun escape us!!!!!#sarah tag#~ mailbox

What would you give the Ashen Wolves for their Pokémon teams?
Fun question! I'll list what I think seems suitable off the top of my head - I feel like this is the kind of question I could lose myself in if I went too serious with it lol.
Yuri
Tricky boi needs tricky Pokés.
Zoroark - does this one need an explanation?
Greninja - fast and agile fighter
Thievul - also no explanation needed (AND IT IS THE CUTEST)
Lucario - great fighter again! very versatile very strong! and the purr-like sound is so cute
Appletun - everyone knows that it is canon after that one Yuri art in wooloo PJ's (i'm not misremembering i hope)
Tatsugiri - I know it's not good on its own but 1) it's sneaky and clever and 2) Yuri will convince Balthus to have a Dondozo that pairs with it so it's fiiiine
Constance
For Her I'm going with types that align with the different kinds of magic she knows, which are mainly ice, lightning and fire. I also want a horse (bc she flies a pegasus), a fairy-type (bc she's def a little bit fairy inside) and something dark (bc of her shadowy self)! So here's the list I've come up with:
Glaceon - what better ice Pokémon for Coco than a ~cat?
Chandelure - I love chandelure and I want Coco to have one <3
Rapidash (Galarian) - the horsey!!
Miraidon - honestly it makes sense that she has the strongest effing electric legendary there is, considering Bolting
Florges - beautiful just like her
Meowscarada - dramatic cat!!
Hapi
I get the feeling she'd like outsider Pokémon or other kinds of Pokémon that repel people for some reason, or protect from them
Grimmsnarl - just seems Hapi-like idk
Goodra - I think she'd like that it's sort of yucky but very strong
Arbok - Hapi needs snek. It's canon
Scrafty - awkward teen
Mimikyu - shy guy
Gengar - THE REPELLER DELUXE
Balthus
Going almost purely on feeling here lmao
Turtonator - cool name, silly look, a bit wrestler-themed
Dondozo - see Yuri above
Machamp - Balthus needs the standard Fighting Pokémon of all time ok?
Revavroom - needs a cool ride
Terrakion - feels very Balthus to me
Gholdengo - give the guy some bling

introooo
✨ hiya! i’m chat, 22, right now i’m studying at an EDUCATIONAL PLACE in paldea to learn more about freshwater ecology and water types (that’s vague enough for any school faculty that i won’t get in trouble for my social media image, right?) but unova is my home! they/them pronouns please!
more below the readmore ^^
✨ i do work with other pokemon for academic and ‘helping classmates with training’ and demonstration reasons, but my team is all tatsugiri! (don’t ask about how long i hang out and look for them to have found shinies like this. don’t ask) they are as follows:
🤍 twitch, shiny droopy tatsugiri! he’s my first pokemon i caught and own, since i’m not the one who’s the OT for the family pets. he’s really cute-looking but he’s a total manipulator and will steal food right out of your hands if you don’t watch him </3 the others tend to listen to him, so he helps me keep a lid on things when everyone’s out at once! very helpful little guy outside of his shenanigans. if i can only keep one of my pokemon out at a given moment, usually he’s my go-to.
❤️🩹 kirby, regular droopy tatsugiri, and towards ME, he’s very sweet. buuuut he’s a bottomless pit and likes to try to hunt a lot though, so i can’t let him hang out around a lot of flying-type pokemons or trainers who specialize with them :[ i’m doing what i can to try to curb and redirect this behavior, any advice from others in a similar boat is very much welcomed
🤎 choco, shiny curly tatsugiri, she’s very much cuddly. note to anyone who hasn’t pet a tatsugiri before: they are slimy-feeling and they keep themselves wet so if they flop on your shoes you WILL get wet socks so keep that in mind when i say she will almost Always curl up next to me if we’re settling for the night and she’s out of her ball and there’s nowhere better (aka, a lake) to sleep.
❤️ figy, regular curly tatsugiri, she’s the biggest of the bunch and is pretty mild-mannered and chill. i think she was a clodsire in a past life tbh... i HAVE made sure it’s not a health issue since at first i was worried it could be some kind of lethargy, but she’s just older than the rest and has a laid back personality, clean bill of health otherwise.
🧡 stripes, shiny stretchy tatsugiri, he is sunny’s big brother! they’re inseparable. they’re the youngest of the bunch, very playful with each other, though stripes is a bit nervous around strangers.
💛 sunny, regular stretchy tatsugiri, she is stripes’ little sister :] she’s a bit more brave with new faces than stripes is, she’s helped get him out of his shell. really likes cheese.
✨ team intro aside, school staff if you’re reading my posts: no you are not <3
✨ clavell if you’re reading this: i promise there will not be another kirby incident and i am making honest efforts to prevent him from chasing after other students’ pokemon. also if you are reading my posts no you are not
✨ if you’re at the academy and taking a class i’m in feel free to hit me with an email if you want to meet up and have our pokemon meet up! (no bird-like ones yet!! i’m sorry) kirby, stripes, and sunny would really benefit from socializing more and we can trade some class notes, maybe?
-----
[[ ooc: ]]
ok that all aside, this is a pokemon irl blog, and i tag all posts as pkmn irl!!
irl i am a biology major, so my activity will probably flux as the semester progresses since it’s the last one before graduation and i can NOT fuck up my grades. if i go inactive dw abt it, i probably got busy or distracted :]
when it comes to my interpretation of pokemon its like schrodingers cat when it comes to People just over-anthropomorphize their behaviors Vs they are all quite intelligent like in the anime. its like the way people talk about cats on the internet but being a cat owner and knowing cats can really be Like That. like yeah tatsugiri are probably very smart but also i do see them as coldblooded little bird eaters and dondozo egg-destroyers being little brood parasites. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
also if it bothers anyone i do hc ppl eat pokemon outside of those that r mentioned in the pokedex bc how else do you get the beef for paldean hamburger patties than the local tauros + miltank. and also bc i think pidgey tenders should be real. i will make an effort to minimize talk of it on the blog fr those that dont hc that or dont like the implications but i am a pokechicken nugget truther

New Pals from Paldea - A BH6/Pokemon Thread
So you might remember that I did another Pokemon post in regards to the Big Hero 6 team a while ago. Since that one did relatively well (in my standards), I figured I might as well do an updated thread for the new Scarlet/Violet games.
By the way, the designs in this game are some of the best that I’ve ever seen in a Pokemon game, and I’ve been playing them since Red/Blue.
(Goes to show you how old I am, right?)
And we’re going to start with probably the most perfect one of all:
1.) Honey Lemon - Tinkaton
Sometimes you just find two pictures that go perfectly together, and you don’t really need an explanation.
There’s really no other type that Honey Lemon fits into better than Fairy, and the thought of HL getting mad and having Tinkaton swinging a giant hammer fills me with joy.
I’m still trying to find a shiny one in my game, but it doesn’t want to show up in a mass outbreak for some reason. I could breed for one, but I need a foreign Ditto for Masuda breeding, and I don’t have the time for that.
2.) Baymax - Maushold
The pic I used had Minimax in it, and that was an unintentional side-effect just because I needed this picture sideways.
Also, Tandemaus/Maushold have a signature move called Tidy Up, and this seems like something that Aunt Cass would abuse to no end.
Can’t have Spikes or Stealth Rocks up around the Lucky Cat Cafe.
3.) Hiro & Captain Cutie - Palafin Zero and Palafin Hero
Now you’re probably thinking “Why is this Hiro and not Fred?” Well, I like the idea of giving the Hero Pokemon to the leader of the team. Plus, Palafin is OP in his Hero form, just like Hiro is in his Captain Cutie form.
Plus, it’s purple in its Shiny form, which is perfect again for Hiro.
You know how I know this?
Oh...no reason.
4.) Go Go - Cyclizar
Another obvious one, and I’m sure Go Go would love at have Miraidon as well, since it’s more futuristic for her tastes. Special mention also goes to Varoom (the Steel/Poison engine Pokemon), which I’m sure Go Go would ride around with just like the Team Star captains.
Just don’t dress up like Mela. The boots are way too big.
5.) Wasabi - Tatsugiri & Dondozo
This one is more of a headcanon thing, since I have Wasabi working at a sushi restaurant in my stories. Plus, giving him a giant Water/Dragon that can basically Shell Smash without any downsize is my way of giving him the long straw.
6.) Fred - Armarouge/Ceruledge
The two new Pokemon evolving from Charcadet with armor items go to the guy with the armor/costume. I know that, like above, giving him Palafin would be the easy way out. I also know that he would totally cosplay as these two if he could.
...At the same time.
7.) Nemona Karmi - Pawmot
@iamaddictedtocoffee doesn’t seem to care for the particular comparisons between Karmi and Nemona, but I can’t unsee them. And how perfect would it be for Karmi to get a cute, Electric/Fighting Pika-clone?
With Iron Man-like repulsor hands, apparently.
You should totally get Scarlet/Violet if you haven’t already; they’re easily the best games I’ve played in a while. In the meantime, try not to imagine HL whirling around with a giant hammer made out of her purse.
Maybe Hiro can make one for her...

Gen 9 is the best gen (when it works.) (Review, I guess.) (Spoiler-free)
You know what? Violet is my favorite mainline Pokemon game now. Gen 8 is still my favorite gen so far (since it has Legends, New Pokemon Snap and the Mystery Dungeon remake that I didn’t play, but I really loved the original) but this is easily my favorite mainline game.
TL;DR: The openness of the game makes it fantastic for someone who likes to plan out the entire game before doing the game.
Also, I’m playing physical, offline, and I’m not fucking with my save files, giving me a nearly glitchless experience.
Nearly glitchless:
People will actually get mad at me for not having a whole lot of issues (not anything more than any other game, at least) so lemme explain-
I play the physical version of the game, not the digital. Nintendo has such a bad record of digital games that they have a page telling you what to do when your digital copy of one of their games fucks up. (But of course it’s Game Freak’s fault somehow.)
I also play offline, because again Nintendo fucked up their online servers. (Mostly by doing nothing for 18 years.) (Again people blames Game Freak for that.) Plus I don’t fuck with the save files, so the anti-piracy measures don’t activate.
So minus some frame issues (that are actually done on purpose. I dunno what it’s called but basically they have low-polygons or frame rates when you’re so far away,) some map loading a split second late, and some weird Tera raids glitches that are still somehow functional (I’ll talk about that below,) I didn’t encounter a single glitch, or even any slow down. I’m sorry if your digital copy on your Australian file is fucked up but it works just fine for me, my husband, my brother-in-law, and BIL’s girlfriend. (When they play offline. It does fuck up when they’re playing online.)
Story:
With all of that cleared up, these are truly the best games in the series so far. (Unless you prefer the restricted linear kind of Pokemon game. Which usually results in better stories, though Pokemon stories never really blow me away) I really, really love how open the world is.
The story is actually three separate stories that comes together in the end. Majora’s Mask is my favorite game of all time because of how the big story effects all of the little stories, so I guess it makes sense for me to like this.
And a lot of the smaller things being controlled at just about any point is so convenient, a lot of the annoyances I had with previous generations doesn’t matter anymore.
Speaking of the stories, they’re not forced on you. Not really. You don’t have to do them to progress through most of the world. Yeah, you do need to do Arven’s story line to get to some areas, but it’s not an annoying pause in the game. You can do those things any time without some BS excuse. No “you have to get Falkner’s badge before you can go to Azalea town for some reason” BS.
I just love the convenience of the game:
I can just have a Pokemon remember a move whenever I want, and have access to my boxes whenever I want, so I don’t have to go all the way to a Pokemon Center just to deposit the Pokemon I don’t want to train. Which means that EXP All isn’t so annoying anymore.
I love it so much, I made a new profile on the Switch to play it again, but with the knowledge I have about the game now.
For example, I know now that disobedience only happens if the Pokemon you caught is beyond a certain level when you catch it compared to how many badges you have. You can still catch them and breed them and the baby will always obey you.
On my second file I decided to have some of the strongest Pokemon I can have on my team (of varying types,) because fuck it, why not? And then I breed them to get an obedient Pokemon that’s a clean slate.
And yeah, it was a pain in the ass to get Dondozo. Twice. (I didn’t pay attention and I caught a male one first. The Pokemon in the egg will inherent the mother’s species.) But that just makes it that much more rewarding.
And EV training is made pretty easy since you can get brace items once the world opens up to you.
There’s an area where you can basically summon Chansey by eating a Ham Sandwich, which I believe is a sandwich you start with? I caught a Gastly, leveled it up enough to teach it Curse, and use that to train these Pokemon to their mid 30′s before taking on the first gym.
I wanted to start gathering Tera shards but I’d need three badges and to beat Larry first. So I defeated the easiest two gyms and then Larry. I can just do that whenever I want.
I defeated specific titan Pokemon to upgrade my Miraidon the way I want it. While looking away because apparently if you need to push “A” to continue the dialogue it doesn’t count as a cut scene and I don’t want to cry again. (Something similar to that story happened last year, but it didn’t have a happy ending.)
Also, riding Miraidon is just really fucking smooth. Much better than it is in Legends.
Also also, I can treat the game as a diet Pokemon Snap.
Some cons:
-I can’t just catch Pokemon without getting into a battle first, which is a disappointment. But Pokemon don’t try to kill me so it’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. I guess this is a half-con.
-They removed the sound effect and graphic effect for shinies even though they just had to carry that over from Legends! Sure it makes shinies a bit more exciting to find, when you can actually tell that they’re shiny. My husband’s a color blind shiny hunter so it’s especially hard for him.
I’m not color blind but I know for a fact that I missed some shinies! (Partially because the game will tell you.) I dunno what they were but I’m guessing that they were shitty and that I encountered them when I was EV training and I looked away when they sparkled to see what their EV yield is.
Edit”
Ooooooh.
-Tera raids are kind of glitchy in the most annoying way, and in a way where you can tell what the problem is. They still function so it’s not a huge deal for me but it does get pretty annoying when the HP bar is behind, or ahead, or the text is stopping part of the way through because it’s too damn fast! It’s an RPG! You don’t have to make it go so fast that the game can’t keep up with it! Some Pokemon will interrupt my inputs just to get rid of stat changes and status conditions that it didn’t have in the first place! It’s annoying and it needs to calm the fuck down.
-Rika is never outside, so I can’t get a picture with her.

Rin HC: Palean Vacation (2/2?)
Tyranitar's Jealousy
While Rin and Sofia traveled together, Sofia thought Rin's Pokemon might respond better if they had a nickname, something Rin has never given to any of his Pokemon. Rin was okay letting it happen under the pretence that when his vacation was over, they would part ways and he could go back to calling them by what Pokemon they were.
Sofia went down the line, giving all Rin's new pokemon nicknames.
Mabosstiff became "Scraps" Baxcalibur became "Chip" Annihilape became "Curly" Dondozo became "Blubbles"
Then realizing Rin's team was complete to his liking, she went to name the remaining two, the ones he brought with him to Paldea. Ursaring and Tyranitar.
Sofia named Tyranitar "Mr. Stomps." Rin laughed thinking she was telling a really good joke, even Tyranitar didn't take it seriously.
But then the mood changed when Sofia tried to think of a name for Ursaring. This was met with a very swift objection. Ursaring was his first Pokemon, and he wasn't gonna let some kid name his longest bond. This struck a nerve with Tyranitar. That Rin would play favorites right in front of him. In turn, Tyranitar ran in outrage... to the crater.
Once Tyranitar out climbed Rin and jumped into the crater, Rin was distraught. He desperately tried to plea with officials to get inside, but he was denied. They told him to be patient, that they would do what they could, but Rin wasn't having any of that. Rin left Sofia behind as she watched in shock and horror as Rin rammed the barrier with his bike and broke through. He used his Ursaring to safely climb down, where he began chasing down his Tyranitar on foot. The path was easy to follow, as Tyranitar was fighting everything in it's path. Rin started noticing bites were taken out of some crystals on the way down. Was he so angry that he was eating them?
Rin made his way all the way to the secret lab. The elevator down was burst open and destroyed. The broken elevator was at the bottom of the shaft. Rin didn't even consider another option, he grabbed the belt of the elevator and slid down as fast as he could, suffering burns on his hands. He made it just in time to see Tyranitar attempt to destroy everything he saw, including firing a Hyper Beam at the Time Machine above. Doing so caused a surge of power that surged down the beam of energy directly to Tyranitar, where it than started roaring and convulsing. A line of energy was connected between the time machine and the crystals in Tyranitar's stomach, engulfing it in a glitchy light, transforming it into Iron Thorns.
Iron Thorns kept it's memory, despite the body change. And even while confused, it was still angry at Rin. Rin had to battle his own Pokemon, and every now and then Iron Thorns would attack Rin directly. It was a very close call, but Rin defeated Iron Thorns, who fell to it's stomach. Rin, now suffering from a broken arm, a sprained leg, and burned hands, limped over to lay down beside it.
Rin had a heart to heart with Iron Thorns, letting it know that it wasn't favoritism but pride that objected. He could never come up with creative nicknames, which was the only reason none of his pokemon had one. To have someone come up and try to do what he failed at for the entirety of his time being a trainer flipped a switch in him that he couldn't ignore. But that didn't make Tyranitar, now Iron Thorns, any less important to him. Iron Thorns made movements that it was feeling regret for it's outlash, but Rin brushed it off and told it that it's reaction was not only understandable but relatable. Rin would have done the same thing. He trained Tyranitar to be like him, after all. The two did a very weak fist bump, and both seemed to be okay with "Mr. Stomps" for now. It would grow on both of them.
Mr. Stomps returned to it's ball, and Rin was eventually rescued, hospitalized, fined, and had his motorcycle repaired with his own money in an effort to hide that something happened to it from Morgan.
In his time at the hospital, Rin was unconscious for a very long time. But Sofia never left his side, feeling the blame for everything that happened. When he did wake up, Sofia was expecting a scolding, or to be told that he was bringing her back to where he found her... But all Rin did was thank Sofia for one hell of an adventure.

PROJECTS IDW CHARACTERS ONTO THIS BECAUSE I CAN:
Tangle uses Fighting- and Dragon-types and a few other mons that just look cool. Her life-long partner Pokémon is her Grafaiai, and they go around misadventuring and being gremlins together. Also a certified Cyclizar owner. And MAYBE she’d have an Armarouge and Whisper would have a Ceruledge…
Whisper collects Rotoms. She has an absurd amount of them, and her go-to team is just six Rotoms, each in a different form. She DOES have a backup team of mons that used to be the Diamond Cutters’ aces, but rarely lets them out… other than Smithy’s Corviknight, which both still cares for her like the dad friend did and is important for transportation.
Jewel ends up accidentally becoming Rouge’s rival. She of course uses all Bug and Rock-types, having a Glimmora, and an Orbeetle that can actually Gigantamax even though she of course never gets into any situation where that would be important.
Lanolin would have the obligatory Ampharos, and some WEIRD Normal-types, or mons that evolve from Normal-types - Arboliva, Altaria, Exploud etc. She’s inclined towards sound-based moves and mons with more serious demeanors. Maggie, her emotional support Pokémon who doesn’t battle, is either an Espurr or a Whismur.
Per Ian Flynn’s own words, Surge’s own signature mon is Toxtricity. She wants to become “the strongest Electric-type Trainer in the world,” but ends up picking up some other mons along the way. While Toxtricity is her starter and the face of her team, her powerhouse is an Annihilape, who started out as a Mankey she bonded with over constant irrational anger (they probably wrestled hand-to-hand without a Pokémon battle before she caught him.) In addition, the wild card of her team is a Malamar - who’s actually the friendliest, least-evil Malamar in the entire world. Surge was prowling outside the wreckage of Base Sigma, stumbled upon a level 1 Inkay with crappy IVs, an ability that wasn’t Contrary, and the original Trainer ID “Starline” and said “You know what? Fuck you. I’mma raise this guy with love and care.”
Kit IS mostly a Water-type trainer. However, his starter, again per Ian Flynn, was an Impidimp of all mons - Surge caught him for Kit as a joke, only for Kit to actually raise him and now he has an overprotective Grimmsnarl. Kit and Surge DID eventually do a bunch of Tera Raid grinding to let Grippy Terastallize into a Water-type, though. (Surge doesn’t care enough to change HER mons’ Tera Types.) He specializes in Double Battles, especially Multi Battles with Surge - when going all-out on his own, he leads with a Tatsugiri and Dondozo. FEAR HIM.
Clutch has a bunch of Maschiff and Mabosstiff. It’s right there.
Mimic isn’t a Trainer anymore because any Pokémon he did have abandoned him for being a bitch, RIP bozo
I can form entire teams for some characters, I already know a bunch of mons Sonic alone would have, I can keep going
Sonic Pokemon headcanons! (with the sssumption that theyre IN the world, not playing just the games)
I know Sonic is terrified of water but do you think he'd primarily use Water and Electric type Pokemon? He'd always be like "I'm telling you it's NOT just because I'm blue!!!" Despite his fear of being IN water, he actually sees Water type Pokemon as very pretty! (and also, Water types can carry him over water or help him in a pinch, if he falls in). If not Water types, then I'd say Flying types, as they're also very cool and very fast usually! He has a few Dragon and Ice types too.
I can see Shadow using Fire and Psychic type Pokemon, and some Dark types here and there (mostly Dark-Fire types though). Psychic types because he's somewhat weak to the very alien-esc nature of them, and also Mewtwo. He just... Mewtwo is his buddy okay? (Also he'd help look after Amy's Grass types and Normal types from time to time). Oddly enough I'd almost say he'd have the most balanced sort of team. Also, he has an Oricorio (Sensu style) who started following him around after he visited one of the grottos of Alola with lavender fields. The Pokemon doesn't battle at all, and he hasn't even caught them, but they do enjoy being around Shadow quite a lot and help comfort him when he has anxiety attacks. Shadow likes to call them "Marmar", which they seem to respond well too also.
Rouge uses all the Pokemon that look like bats really, lol. She also shiny hunts often. She probably has a Sableye, and she also like Rock types that are SPECIFICALLY shiny and like gemstones (she's still convinced the crystal Onix exists)
Tails uses Steel and Electric types, he trades Sonic perfect-IV and EV electric types for variants of Pokemon he doesn't have yet. He's the one collecting every Minior and shit lol, and also is the one to be doing the breeding and competitive-set creating. Also he has multiple Vulpixes and Ninetailses because they make him happy. He has like... One or two Flying types that came from Sonic, also.
Knuckles plays the game like we all did as kids, he gets rid of ever stat-changing move to replace it with the strongest attacks he has access to, then proceeds to fail many times and questions why. He uses Rock and Fighting types mostly, of course.
Amy uses Normal, Fairy, and Grass types, though she doesn't battle much and instead helps Tails to breed Pokemon and keeps a huge garden where many Grass types relax in peace. Shadow helps her take care of it when he visits, and many of the Skittys she has have taken a liking to him (and his Purrloin).
Omega strictly uses Steel and Electric types that are, in some way, robotic.... And by uses I mean has somehow managed to directly connect to and communicate with them. He doesn't even catch them, they just basically Bluetooth sync to him and they all go "Let's kill shit".
At some point Sonic goes into that fuckin cave place where you find Mewtwo, preparing to finally battle them, and ends up finding Mewtwo and Shadow just fucking chatting while sitting on some rocks and is just like
"I'm...sorry???"
Shadow's like "Dude we're in the middle of a conversation either join or leave"
Shadow brings Marmar to meet Amy for the first time and, Amy being one who can probably understand normal Pokemon talking or some shit like that, tells Shadow why they'd even originally taken a liking to him, which was because he shared the same colors as their old partner, a Baile style Oricorio. The two used to dance together in the trees, until one day, the other never returned. When Marmar had gone to the other's own flower field to search for them, they found it to have been destroyed, either by a raging Pokemon, or by people. They'd been left quite lonely, since then, and finding someone quiet like themself, who had the same colors as their lost partner, brought them comfort they hadn't felt in a long time. Shadow probably ended up crying hearing that to be entirely honest, I mean, they'd both lost someone they'd cared deeply for, of course it would hit him hard.
Rouge attempts to "steal" Knuckles' pretty Rock types but it ends up being more like she randomly takes them to get a bunch of treats and then they go back to Knuckles once he finds out lmao. She ends up having a whole family of Carbink living with her too. Despite her seeming selfish to outsiders, she's actually incredibly caring to her Pokemon, and even others' Pokemon when needed.
Sonic get electrocuted regularly by his Electric types to a point where Tails has become genuinely concerned for his health, like actually properly worried about him, because he CONTINUES to walk it off like it's nothing. Which is normal, but still.
One of Sonic's favorite Pokemon of his is his trusted Manectric, which Shadow likes to joke about how similar the fur of the Manectric is to his own quills and teases Sonic about "playing favorites" as a result, which tends to get him strangely flustered and defensive.

I decided to wait until now (1st of Dec in Australia) to post my Pokemon Scarlet/Violet thoughts in full:
- Clodsire is the Pokemon I fell in love with upon setting my eyes on it. As I mentioned earlier, it was worth avoiding leaks just for my first sight of it being ingame. - I also REALLY like Meowscarada - definitely my favourite final stage Grass starter so far. - I dig a lot of these Pokemon designs. As a whole, I prefer them to Gen 8 overall. - I like how the school in general is surpisingly similar to school in the Persona games; each class gives you one multiple-choice question with one correct answer; you can talk to the teachers outside of class in a manner VERY reminiscent of Social Links / Confidants, complete with them saying they feel like they can talk to you about any of their thoughts/issues and a message at the end saying you feel closer to them (with a musical note above your head); the teachers all have unique personalities and appearances; and of course there are exams with several multiple-choice questions and are recaps of what you learned in previous classes. There's also a female character who is terrible at cooking. It makes me wonder if the Persona games were the inspiration for how the academy worked... - Trying to work out evolution methods while playing blind was an unforeseen issue I had. It's not helped by the fact that officially revealed Pokemon didn't have their evolution methods revealed either. Some were obvious - the starters and the "Route 1" 'mons - but most of them are hard to tell. Do they level up, and if so at what level? Do they need items? Do they need to be traded? Do they need an incredibly obscure method like Sliggoo, Inkay or Yamask-G? - I like how there's a way to change your Pokemon's Tera Type and it didn't need DLC or anything - with the in-game trade that gives Gengar, I can now have a Psychic Gengar for the TRG Colosseum meme! Oh, and it's competitive uses are neat too I suppose. - I really like how obedience works in these games - making it so that Pokemon who were caught at a higher level than your Gym badge allows won't obey, so the badge level thing actually means something for everyone and not just a very small percentage of players. - The Team Star storyline was excellent! - The overall story might be my favourite in a Pokemon game as well.
- My main gripe is that the vast majority of buildings don't have interiors, assuming they can be entered at all. There's something about doing that that I really enjoyed that I don't know how to describe. Subsequently, I do really enjoy the school. - A minor one: the Elite 4 and Champion music were a let-down for me. EDIT: The upcoming patch fixes something wrong with the music, maybe I wasn’t hearing the intended songs? I might remove this critique if so. - And obviously, the performance issues go without saying. - Dondozo was the shiny that spawned and unspawned while I watched Grimer evolve. I wish there was something to prevent that somehow.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it! I might play it again using my second account.

explaining my thoughts...
laios:
honedge for kensuke of course.
eevee because it has a lot of potential but on its own is just normal type + kind of a basic pokemon which feels rlly representative of laios. i dont think he'd ever evolve it.
i think maybe he'd eventually get a fossil or some other unique kind of pokemon
marcille
went with a monotype team because she feels more like a gym leader than a trainer to me. same with falin.
azumarill and gardevoir are both very strong but cute and feminine respectively. plus i think its appropriate for her to have a rabbit for spoiler reasons.
milcery cuz i thought itd be funny for her to have something very obviously edible.
chilchuck
klefki for obvious reasons.
pancham i honestly cant explain besides vibes. that thing is a little hater.
joltik felt very objectively useful as a small electric pokemon. i figure he could be a good scout AND lantern when exploring.
wimpod because he is not as loved as he should be. first of all. secondly he makes for a good symbol of the coward arc. little scared bug becomes big strong bug.
senshi
honestly i kind of thought of senshi as not really having captured any of these pokemon, they just hang out with him and he shares berries with them
sableye, tangela and oddish are all in that category. little creatures youd come across exploring that just tagged along.
crobats the same but he evolved from friendship <3
dondozo is the only Caught one. hes a chef pokemon like how could i not.
falin
all ghost types. i'd figure in the pokemon universe falin would be one of the psychics/spirit mediums.
yamask and mimikyu are both really sympathetic pokemon. easy to imagine falin taking the little guys in because of their circumstances.
greavard works really well to show falin's self sacrificing nature. she WOULD keep a life force draining dog because he is a good little puppy.
izutsumi
i kinda thought about giving her all cats ... but honestly i just dont think she could/would want to be responsible for other creatures.
the rattata she keeps around just in case she needs a snack.
instead of a cat shes fused with a litten. she does not send out pokemon for battle because she is in the battle. i dont know how that would work and i dont want to think about it.
ps. for all the people in the tags saying "but laios would eat the pokemon!!" im sorry. he would. he does. grilled up some goldeens last week in fact. such is the nature of life.
i thought ab those poke teams for so long thank you ppl telling me i chose good <3333 lol

Part 2
14: Finzen line
I was gonna be so mad when I first saw Palafin and didn't know it had a second form, like "damn bro Game Freak really made its evolution the same pokemon but with a heart tattoo?" but no, its a form change thankfully. Though a slightly misleading design isn't Palfin's only problem, as it only evolves from Finzen when you're in multiplayer. This is bad because Nintendo makes you PAY to use multiplayer, meaning that if you don't have Nintendo Online you cannot get Palafin; they literally paywalled a pokemon. As for its design, its meh; its a dolphin, I don't like that hero form Palafin has fingers. 4/10 purely because of the fact they locked a pokemon behind a paywall.
15: Smoliv line
Not much to say on Smoliv and its evos, they're early game pokemon and the standard three evo grass types. Though it is weird that they're dual normal/grass. 5/10 meh
16: Capsakid line
Now THIS is a grass type pokemon I can get behind! I love the little fuckin' bastard energy these guys have, they look like they're gona throw rocks through my windows and light my trash on fire. Some good ass ">:)" vibes, 10/10 I wanna hug them even if they'd bite me.
17: Tadbulb line
Tadbulb looks like a Mario enemy, like it looks like it lept straight out of Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga and I love it for that. Literally going ":)", and its German name is Blipp. BLIPP!!! Bellibolt is also a pretty cool design, but my DBZ poisoned mind looks at this guy and thinks of Guldo. Its a frog creature with four eyes, what do you want from me. My one gripe is that these guys are pure electric types despite being frogs, now I know being a water type isn't nessecary for amphibian pokemon but it feels so off that its not at least electric/water. 9/10, no seriously Bellibolt is just Guldo
18: Varoom line
I'm kinda meh about these guys, I mean it is cool that they're basically car pokemon; but aside from that they're not too interesting to me. Though the fact that people correctly guessed that the fucking boogie bus Mela was on was going to be a pokemon is hilarious. 6/10, kerchow
19: Orthworm
This thing has a funny name and a funny mouth. I also like how it is just a metal sandworm out of like Beetlejuice or something. This dude's good in my book, don't know why he's 8 feet long tho. 7/10
20: Tandemaus line
Its just mice, its just fuckin' multitudes of mice and I hate them. I am laying out mousetraps in my house and I am killing them before they spread like listeria. 0/10, get the fuck out of my house you jerry ass looking motherfuckers.
21: Cetottle line
Oh look another pokemon that's small whose evolution is that same pokemon but bigger. Whoop-de-doo. Yeah its a literal landwhale too, coolio. 5/10 Just a whale.
22: Frigibax line
Its nice that we got another dragon/ice type pokemon, and I do like this line a lot. My buddy yukari compared Baxcalibur to Space Godzilla and yeah I can see the resemblence. Though one part of the design I don't get are the... thingies on its hands, they don't seem to serve a purpose and are kinda pointless. 8/10 we're slowly gathering enough pokemon for a godzilla themed pokemon team.
23: Tatsugiri (i'm not showing all three forms bc image limit)
Tatsugiri has a pretty cool gimmick, working with Dondozo to become a stronger pokemon; but outside of its gimmick is pretty alright. I don't know why exactly is a dragon type though, I'm probably missing somehting. Its design is a bit too simple though, even with the different forms. 6/10 he looks like he's from Worms
24: Cylizar
This pokemon infuriates me, not because its badly designed but because it's purpose is taken up by other pokemon. Like... why isn't THIS the pokemon we ride around the overworld and not the box legendaries? Speaking of the box legendaries, why doesn't Cylizar EVOLVE into them? Like.. Game Freak, did you forget you made Cosmog? You know a pokemon that EVOLVED into the box legendaries? And if Cylizar does evolve into the box legendaries, why not just give us Cylizar and have it evolve later on? Again, like what they did with Cosmog! I hate that the game gives you the main legendaries from the start, and that whole problem could have been solved with Cylizar but they just... didn't do that. 6/10, good design but MAN did they miss an obvious route.
25: Pawmi line
Another generation, another Pikachu clone. I don't have much to say on this line aside from the fact it looks like they have fingers and its weirding me out. 5/10, its a bogstandard Pikachu clone.
26: Wattrel line
Oh boy, more birds I don't care about. Their ability sounds good on paper, but when are you gonna hit an electric type with a flying type move?? 5/10
27: Bombirdier
Its a bird that's an asshole, next. 5/10
28: Squawkabilly (again, not adding all the different palette swaps)
I guess the whole bird gang thing is a little neat, but like dude... I don't care. 5/10
29: Flamigo
Out of all of the lame bird pokemon in SV, this one is the most offensive. Its literally just a flamingo, and like I said in part one I hate it when pokemon are just a real world animal with no fun spins on the design. 0/10 fuck off
30: Klawf
Its a crab alright, I like crustacean pokemon quite a bit. Though like Bellibolt I don't know why it isn't also a water type. 6/10 return to crab.
31: Nacli line
First of all, Nacli looks like a Super Mario mushroom, like thats just a powershroom. Secondly I like that Naclstack's entry says the salt is harmful and that it seasons prey with it, but Gargnacl's dex says the salt is helpful and that it heals pokemon with it. I also really like their colors, rock pokemon can be really cool when they just become big rock guys. 8/10.
32: Glimmet line
These also look like Mario enemies, theres a lot of Pokemon that look like that. Also Glimmora fires fucking beams??? From its petals?? 6/10 no really laser beams???
33: Shroodle line
I refuse to believe Shroodle evolves into Grafaiai, I thought it was a fucking bug at first; that's not a shrew thats a fucking weevil. I also have some beef with Grafaiai because when it was first teased with the painting marks I thought we were getting a Smeargle variant and that my boy would finally be free from irrelevancy jail, but no it was just this ugly motherfucker. Screw these guys, I hate them; bring back my homie Smeargle. 2/10
34: Fidough line
Greavard may have dropped the ball with its evolution, but Fidough has the opposite effect. I didn't care that much about Fidough at first, I mean it was just a fairy type puppy pokemon; but Dachbun managed to make me actually care about it a little! I was afraid it'd become something frilly and 'fairy-like' like a cake dog or something, but Dachbun looks really cool. Fair play, Fidough, fair play. 9/10 the only thing keeping it from being a 10/10 was the fact its not a grass type despite being bread
35: Maschiff line
Wow this game has a lot of dog pokemon huh? Its so weird that these guys aren't fighting types though, I expected Mabosstiff to become one based on its dex but no they're just normal dark types. Mabosstiff also has that thing where it looks incredibly sad to the point it becomes comical, like it looks like a sad old man. My poor little bow wow, 7/10
36: Bramblin line
To be honest this thing lowkey scares me. Its a bundle of sticks and hate that apparently form packs and kill people; which is a wonderful thing to think about. 8/10 its eyes bore into my soul
37: Gimmighoul line
Y'know when this little reddit goblin lookin' motherfucker got revealed I told myself "this is gonna be a boring gimmick pokemon thats a pain in the testicles to get and its either gonna evolve into nothing or have an evolution not worth the grind" and I was right in the latter thought. Gholdengo looks like a string cheese mascot and I don't like it. 2/10
38: Ting-Lu
I don't have much to say on this pokemon, though it (and the other 'Ruin' pokemon) are weird in that they have Chinese sounding names... but are in a region based on Spain. 5/10
39: Chien-Pao
This guy has a pretty gnarly design, what with the saber teeth; though I don't like the weird things under its eyes. Its dex entries are pretty morbid too, saying it plays in the snow of the avalanches its caued; avalanches that may have killed people. There's a lot of implied death in this game huh? 8/10
40: Wo-Chien
Another pretty morbid pokemon with a fittingly dark design. I like how the whiskers form eye stalks, but aside from that its an eerie forest snail that I don't have a ton of opinions on. 6/10
41: Chi-yu
This one I also don't have a lot of opinions on, its an evil lava fish; not much else I can say. 6/10
42: Koraidon
I'm probably gonna make a lot of people mad (aka: yukari) but I think this guy is overdesigned as fuck and not in a good way. There's way too much shit going on with its design and my eyes can't seem to know where to focus. Its a clusterfuck in the worst way possible. 4/10
43: Miraidon
Thankfully Miraidon's design is a lot more simple and manages to be way cooler. Even if it (and the other future parado pokemon) look like the 'Robo'-type Yo-kai from Yo-kai Watch, and not in a good way but in a "we're clearly copying this other game" way. 7/10
44: Tinkatink line
This is a pretty solid designed line, but... I hate that its female only. A lot of fairy type pokemon are stereotypically feminine (fuck I think the only overtly masculine fairy types are the Impidimp line) and that's lame. Yeah this line has a tomboy thing going on with the big ass hammers but its still a little dumb that it doesn't even have a possibility to be male. 6/10
45: Charcadet line
These lads have to be my favorite new pokemon out of all of them. Charcadet? Its baby, los bebes hermanos, I love it. Armarouge and Ceruledge are everything I could want in a knight pokemon, though I am biased towards Ceruledge slightly. 10/10 if I ever bought the game it'd be for these guys and nothing else.
46: Toedscool line
Just like Wiglett and Wugtrio, I hate these designs for the fact that they're lazier than a regional variant. 0/10 eat my ass
47: Kingambit
I don't hate this thing's design, I just thing its utterly pointless and breaks the lore that Bisharp had. We didn't need an evolution for Bisharp, its already the leader of its pack; why would there be an even more powerful-er evolution? Its just the definition of unnessecary. 2/10
48: Clodsire
This right here? The PEAK of evolutions exclusive to regional variants, nothing else has or will compare; this is perfection in its most raw form. He looks like a fuckign Memetan from Hacker's Memory, I swear to god if TPC makes plushies of this absolute lad and don't make them purchaseable in the west I'm gonna be so assmad that I could shit enough bricks to make a house. 11/10 don't even fucking look at me if you don't like Clodsire.
49: Annihilape
I love that after like six years, that one Sun pokedex entry about Primeape where it says that it will just randomly die of being too mad finally game true. The prophecy is fufilled. Dude is literally anger incarnate. 6/10 so mad he ascended into a state of being.
I'm not going over the paradox Pokemon, I'm so tired and I don't give a piss.
Scarlet and Violet are out, let's talk new pokemon designs Under a readmore because of spoilers and because it's long. I'll do a reblog with the rest of the pokemon because tumblr only lets me have 30 images per post.
1: Sparigatito Line
I really don't like this line as a whole, which sucks becase I liked Sparigatito when it was first revealed! I love cat pokemon, but Floragato and especially Meowscarada soured it for me. I don't like it when starters become bipedal for no reason, based on Floragato and Meowscarada's dex entries, it could have stayed on all fours; and I think Meowscarada's whole camo-coat thing would have been better if it had a more grassy wildcat design instead of the whole half-baked sorcerer idea (plus it would make the dark typing feel less tacked on). Not since Sobble have I felt so utterly disappointed in a starter's evolution line for a starter, Meowscarada's design was so bad I thought it was a fucking fakemon for Christ's sake. 4/10
2: Fuecoco line
I like this line the most out of the three starters, but the line isn't perfect. Fuecoco and Crocolar do kinda tread similar ground that the Totodile line walked back in Gen2, but thankfully Skeledirge does differenciate itself from Feraligatr and save the line from being samey. Fuecoco is a solid design, my only real problem being that the flames on its head don't look like flames; my issues with Crocolar is the fact that the fire around its head could have been a black smoke, and the whole egg thing doesn't make a lot of sense or add anything; and Skeledirge's design problems are that it doesn't read as a skeletal crocodile, and again the fire bird doesn't add much, nor does its whole singing thing (i know male crocodiles do make mating bellows, but it still feels a little weird to people who aren't biology nerds like me) 8/10, Skeledirge does still kinda feel like a fakemon and the whole line does have a lot of fat that could have been cut but its by far the best starter line in SV
3: Quaxly line
I was never a big fan of bird pokemon to be honest, I don't hate them but they also never really got me particularly hyped up; so the Quaxly line is very 'meh' teetering on 'bad' for me. I don't like that the evolutions lose the blue feet for no reason, and Quaquaval is just Intelleon but a duck design-wise. 5/10, it sure... it sure does exist!
4: Lechonk line
One thing you'll learn from this post is that I don't like it when Pokemon are so obviously based on real life animals with no spin or flair to them, and Lechonk's line is a good example of that. Lechonk is just a pig and Oinkologne is just a pig that smells nice. I would have preferred it if Lechonk evolved into a literal trufflehog, but the evolution we got is just so boring. The whole line is boring and it didn't have to be, especially when previous pig pokemon were really cool! 4/10 I expected nothing and I'm still let down.
5: Dundunsparce
Another thing you'll hear me complain about a lot is evolution designs that are just "the previous form but bigger". I'm so mad that this thing exists as Dunsparce's official evolution, because its so fucking LAZY. I like Dunsparce, its a cute lil tsuchinoko that digs in the dirt, and I always hoped that Dunsparce got an evolution that leaned into that youkai inspiration; but instead I got an actual, literal JOKE. 0/10, I fucking hate it, Yo-kai Watch did a far better job with the evolution for a tsuchinoko-inspired monster.
6: Tarountula line
Can you believe it gamers?! Game Freak finally made a spider pokemon that has EIGHT LEGS!! Joking aside, this dude's cool; a pretty cool early game bug type Pokemon. 6/10, they finally got a spider pokemon with the correct amount of legs.
7: Nymble line
First thoughts: Nymble looks so sad, like this is a pokemon that goes "aheem heem heem whimper" and I feel so bad for it. Lokix is a pretty solid design too, though it being a dual dark type is a little odd when it could have been a fighting type. 7/10 another good bug pokemon, I like Nymble's sad bug face.
8: Rellor line
Rellor and Rabsca are kinda meh for me as bug pokemon go, they're kinda just dung beetles. The whole psychic energy and later psychic typing is a little odd, but it does give the pokemon some interesting traits. I also find it funny that its dex entry says it rolls up mud and sand, like Game Freak is afraid to mention poo-poo. 5/10 its a bug :I
9: Greavard line
Once again Game Freak drops the ball with a dog pokemon. Greavard is a pretty good puppy pokemon, but man does Houndstone disappoint. Its just Greavard but bigger and a skeleton, fanartists did a better job with evolution designs what with greavard becoming a spooky candle dog; and Houndstone is just. Boring. Like Boltund and Hisui Arcanine, and once again I called it.
10: Flittle line
Again, I'm not too big on bird pokemon; and as Espathra is concerned its got a solid design, but Flittle is weird. Mainly because its beak looks more like lips and thats really bothering me. Though I will say the fact that this line is just... weirdly aggressive and vengeful is hilarious, like yeah ostriches are just like that dude.
11: Farigiraf
On the one hand I like that Girafarig got an evolution (one of my favorite gen 2 pokemon) but on the other hand I don't like the whole hoodie thing it has going on. Maybe its because the head is less of a living being like Girafarig's tail, maybe its because its black when the rest of Farigiraf's neck is brown, it just feels wonky to me. I always hoped that if Girafarig ever got an evolution that it'd be something like the beta design it had before GSC released. That said, I do love the colors Farigiraf has. 7/10 I wish the hood element was just emitted in exchange for something more creative and less odd looking
12: Wiglett line
These pokemon are so lazy, man. Like they're not even regional variants, their dex entries say they're completely different pokemon that just look like Diglett and that is so fucking lame. This pokemon has no reason to exist and its not even interesting. 2/10
12: Dondozo
First off I love the headband around this pokemon, gives it a nice Japanese flair. Secondly, the concept of it being the henchman to another smaller pokemon (and the two have moves that work alongside one another) is pretty clever. That being said on its own Dondozo is pretty standard for a mono-type water fish pokemon. 5/10
13: Veluza
This has to be one of the most metal Pokemon ever. Veluza will literally rip off its own skin to become faster and open up its mind pathways, that is... that is so fucking cool. The design is pretty nice too, being such a sharp looking pokemon. 7/10 based on concept alone
