Also don’t sleep directly next to your phone, turn TV’s, mirrors, phones, tablets, and other types of black mirrors away from your bed if you can. If not try covering them with a towel or something light. Work on protecting your aura and strengthening your auric field

Worrying about an ex at this time is unhealthy for you. As much as you may think this person will change it’s not up to you to focus on them, pour into yourself wholeheartedly and you’ll see where your shadow work needs to be done and why you feel the need to give to someone who probably doesn’t have your best interest at this time. University of Smortlee

So I’ve been working on a couple of college hoods attached to the Leng-upon-Aster / Asterton hoods. The EAxis unis are... blah; I’m only keeping SSU (and am in the process of making over the campus) and making two new unis. I didn’t want to make them too close to TS4 unis, but I still ended up making a more classical arts-focused campus, and a modern tech one.

The first is University of Smortlee, a prestigious, ivy-covered institution going back to the first Earl of Smortlee. I pick my names to fit in with the Sims canon in general--the Earl of Smortlee is a Sims Medieval character, so it seemed fitting that the ages-old, prestigious institution would tie in with that history.

I’ve assigned it this crest from TS3 University Life:

Obviously it speaks to its aristocratic/feodal roots. It doesn’t show that much on the crest, but the banners are predominantly navy and forest green, which works nicely with the Earl of Smortlee’s clothes in the picture linked above, so those are the school colours. I’ve also used converted TS3 hood deco for the administrative and classroom buildings, since I’m going for a collegiate gothic style.

To enroll at the University of Smortlee you need one of the following scholarships:

Quigley Visual Arts Grant Tsang Footwork Award London Culinary Arts Scholarship Bain-Gordon Communication Fellowship

Exceptions are made, however, for Sims who are versed in the Magical Arts.

This is a WIP so what I’m posting today is just the two dorms I’ve completed. I’m also almost done (I think) with the park in the middle, and have started working on the library.

Goth Hall

This is a dorm geared towards Sims who love music and art. In the Sims 3 and 4, Mortimer Goth has the Artistic and Creative traits, so in my head he’s into art. Also in TS3 his favourite music is classical. The Goths is also an old, wealthy family, so it makes sense that they would have donated enough money to the university to get a building named for them.

Goth Hall is quite compact and is one of the oldest buildings on campus. On the ground floor, you have an entrance hall, common room and cafeteria.

The common room has some skill and hobby builders, as well as a fridge and microwave for late-night snacking. The best seat is in that bay window alcove. It’s partly open to the upper floor.

On the upper floor, you have the students’ dorm rooms. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms (this is an expensive private university, remember).

The school colours are dominant. I’ve decorated each bedroom to reflect the students’ interests in art and music; it’s just hard to take pictures because the rooms are so narrow.

Next, Summerdream Hall. Obviously, the Summerdream Family are a reference to a Shakespeare play, and they have a certain relationship to supernatural beings... so this is a dorm for Sims who love literature and drama, and/or have magical powers.

I fully admit that this dorm is nicer than Goth Hall. I built it first and had so much more creative energy to pour into it, plus the location meant a bigger plot. However, because of the garden in front, it might be a bit problematic for lazy Sims to get to class on time.

On the ground floor, students immediately step into the grand dining hall, with an adjacent kitchen on one side, and a common room on the other.

It’s a bit sterile, due to the stone floors and the size of it, but a good place for Sims to read, watch films or listen to music.

Stone spiral staircases lead upstairs, to two separate smaller common rooms, around which are organised the dorm rooms.

Cozy, no? :)

The dorm rooms are bigger than in Goth Hall and accommodate double beds, but they do share bathrooms.

This is a nice one for a Sim who’s into books.

And this is perfect for a witch (um, except there’s some ivy clipping into the wall and I don’t know what’s going on with that wallshadow in the first picture).

And of course, what brings magic and books together? Henry Puffer! So here’s a Pufferhead room.
